Due to… recent events that I would rather not talk about, today's post is a highlight of different tabletop games made by trans peeps! These games are fantastic in their own right, of course, but you can also know that they were made by incredibly cool and attractive people

(Also, these are flyover descs of the game, they'll get more in-depth singular posts later, this is because I am lazy)

Perfect Draw is a phenomenal card game TTRPG that was funded in less than a day on backerkit, it's incredibly fun and has simple to learn hard to master rules for creating custom cards, go check it out!

Songs for the dusk is fucking good, pardon my language, but it's a damn good post apocalyptic game about building community in a post-capitalist-post-apocalypse-post-whatever world. do yourself a favor and if you only check out one game in this list, check this one out, its a beautiful game.

Flying Circus is set in a WW1 inspired fantasy setting full of witches, weird eldritch fish people (who are chill as hell), cults, dead nobility, and other such things. It's inspired by Porco Rosso primarily but it has other touchstones.

Wanderhome is a game about being cute little guys going on a silly adventure and growing as the seasons change, its GMless and very fun

Fellowship! I've posted about this game before, but it is again here. Fellowship has a fun concept that it uses very well mostly, its a game about defining your character's culture, and I think that's really really cool

Voidheart Symphony is a really cool game about psychic rebellion in a city that really does not like you, the more you discover for yourself the better

Panic at the Dojo is a phenomenal ttrpg based on what the Brazilian would call "Pancadaria", which basically means, fucking other's people shit up. Character Creation is incredibly open and free, meaning that many character concepts are available

Legacy 2e is a game about controlling an entire faction's choices across time, its very fun

azia and I getting tsukuyomi in a roulette, forgetting how the normal mechs go for a minute, and then ending up in A Situation where azia was tanking as a dnc and I was hardcasting a rez to pick up the healers as a smn when the fan aoe happened, wiping us below 10%. trauma bonded in the chili’s that night.

last week before hades ex prog, everyone who was on had a dance dance standoff with shinryu, unsynced, as a “warm up” in which meg, jay, rogue, kels, grey, and I were all dnc with all of our partners on gigi as rpr, trying to see how far we’d get, only for everyone but rogue and me to get swiped off the platform. but rogue and I did it! somehow!

all of the hangouts with the FC outside of the shirogane house but especially during holiday events when the yard is decorated and everyone puts on costume glams. also the occasional late night roulettes with them that get very, very silly, like the time 3 of us helped someone through paglth’an and found out a drk using tbn on a dnc and the dnc using improvise will survive akh morn from lunar bahamut if the healer is down.

I know you are sick my friend so I wrote this to cheer you up! Remember guys, I'm currently taking only Demon Slayer Requests!

You were humming happily this human song that played on your inner radio. You were a small little car that was brought to life with this piece of thing called AllSpark. You were cute as a button and had a sweet personality to match it. When you were found by Autobots they had offered you a place amongst them and it honestly sounded like a deal too good to pass.

So you were just minding your business and enjoying the breeze of wind against your windshield when your radio suddenly buzzed, signaling that someone from the base tried to reach you.

"Hello?" Came Optimus' voice and you smiled, "Hi there Boss!"

"Where are you at?"

"Just enjoying some fresh air. Why?" You asked and you could almost hear Optimus frowning on the other side of the line, "I need you to come back to base. We have visitors."

"I'll be there in 5 or 10 minutes!" You replied as you took a turn and made your way to the Autobot headquarters. Once there, you transformed and walked in, only to find that your team leader Optimus was almost face to face with this dark blue bot who you didn't know.

If you had to describe what was happening you would say that it looked like Optimus and this other bot were about to trade kisses with their fists, but the only reason stopping them was standing between them. A white Autobot with a blue visor, this one was also a new one to you.

"Whoa, what's happening in here?" You asked as you walked over to your teammates and the dark blue bot scowled at you, "This is the new member of your crew? Taking in a bot created by these organics…!" The bot looked disgusted for some reason, "That is so your style Optimus."

"Sentinel, you should know that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It matters what they do with their life." Optimus defended you and you almost saw hearts. Someone had been watching your movies!

"Hi there, so you are Sentinel?" You greeted the rude bot and he nodded but decided to not waste his words on you. Okay then, it was his lost. You turned to look at the white mech and you introduced yourself.

"That's a sweet name." He smiled as he offered his hand to you, "My name is Jazz."

"That's a groovy name you got!" You smiled as you shook hands with him. Once you were all introduced to each other, Optimus explained that Sentinel and Jazz had come to Earth to take reports about Decepticon activity and would leave in a couple of days.

You nodded, "Okay! How can I help?"

"Just keep an eye out for any suspicious activity and report back to us if you see or hear anything." Optimus said and you nodded as you saluted him, "Yes sir!"

So you kept your eyes open for any suspicious behavior, all the way to early nighttime. You were enjoying some oil in the abandoned factory's yard that served as the base for Autobots when suddenly someone whistled. You looked over your shoulder and saw Jazz approaching you with a can of oil of his own.

"Hi there! Hopefully, I'm not intruding or anything?" He asked and you shook your helm.

"None at all!" You smiled as you patted the spot next to you, "Have a seat!"

"Thank you." He smiled as he took a seat next to you and sipped his oil.

"You must be tired after tonight." The white bot suddenly said, but you only smiled and shook your helm, "Nope! I'm full of energy!"

"Are you sure you’re not tired? Because you’ve been driving through my mind all day." Jazz suddenly said with a smile of his own and you blinked as the flirt sank to your mind and your optics widened as you smiled, "Aww, that was really smooth! You're living up to your name!"

"Thank you, you are too nice." Jazz nodded, "I also wanted to apologize on behalf of Sentinel. He can be a gearstick in the aft."

"Now who is being too nice?" You chuckled and he laughed, "Hey, I know I'm leaving in a couple of days… But would you like to take me out? Sentinel may not like organics but I am curious about everything."

"That sounds like a ton of fun!" You smiled excitedly as you finished your oil and got up on your pedes, "I have to show you the music your name is referred to!"

"Jazz is music here?" He asked and you nodded eagerly, "Yeah, and it's very good! Just like you are!"

"Now who is flirting?" Jazz chuckled as he put his oil down and got up, "Show me the way?"

"Follow my example!" You laughed as you transformed and Jazz copied you before the two of you took off, driving in to enjoy Detroit's nightlife.

Debbie is your run-of-the-mill mother who likes to eat crisps and watch TV. For some reason an Elf appears in her Cupboard and she’s all like wtf, why is there an elf in my cupboard. And Elf is like, wtf I have a name? And the stick he’s holding is like, oi, my names nick. Anyways, Debbie and Elf consult the wise Elders about why she’s here and they’re like, idk ask the oracle and the oracles like, yeah you’re the chosen one or whatever. You gotta like save the place from evil or whatever- oh also your gonna meet some guys named Jon or Robert or something. Debbie’s still like wtf but then she stops a fight between some goofy little guys and everyone’s goin crazy cuz woah! Not klling people? Crazy. And Debbies like bro its just commons sense. I just had to tell these guys to apologize- what are they’re names again? JOHN AND ROBERT!!! (air horn + vine boom) OH SHIT. and then, what’s this? After credit! ITS FUCKING NEGATUS

She wants to figure more about why it is foretold that she has to save Yonderland or whatever so they go to this temple to find a scroll (insert literal lesbian love story that they never talk abt again) and they get a wizard to help. Yada yada yada… they get in the temple but they lose the scroll, oh well. Anyways, hm this Negatus guy sounds pretty nasty huh?

Yoooo Negatus totally burned down a temple and now all the monks are homeless. Negatus sends his demons to hunt down Debbie and the monks. Whats this? The monks can lie now??? Wahoo, Negatus gets yelled at. So sad. 

OMG ITS THE OLYMPICS BUT WITH KISSSSING?????

Debbie misses her kids but the elders are like, oooh we make song for you and make your hair pretty and she’s like ok I guess I’ll stay. 

King what’s his face says he knows where another prophetic scroll is- sike he just wants to bang her- oh no negatus is here! But don’t worry! He has no pants! Negatus gets stabbed in the foot and Debbie learns the value of sharing

Speaking of idiots, Debbie gets kidnapped by a whole town of them! They’re called Ninnies and they wear potato sacks (so sad). This episode is basically The Giver. She teaches them that reading: good and that they shouldn’t be giving Negatus precious diamonds for free. Meanwhile, Negatus, in an attempt to woo his boss, a mysterious shadowey figure, hires a guy named Kenall (the twinkiest twink you’ve ever seen) to cut the diamonds he stole so he can buy an army. Sike, kendall is an idiot. The end

Negatus dresses up as the embodiment of Bo Burnhams's Shit and tricks Debbie into going to his lair. Little does Negatus know, Debbie has friends and ALLLLMMMMOOOOSSTTTT gets Negatus to see the power of friendship but last minutes hes like byeeeee bitches!!! And kidnaps her (this is a common theme). Luckily her friends save her last minute but as she is teleporting out using Nick the stick who is also the portal to her cupboard (I forgot to mention), she sees Negatus’s boss and is like huhhh, you look awful familiar……..

End of season one!!!

Season 2

Negatus buys mech suit to kill debbie, Elders go on lockdown and do a lord of the flies. I love this episode but I DO NOT remember what was important abt this one besides Evil boss lady get mad at Negatus >:(

Debbie goes to a fair and solves a murder mystery, Negatus gets audited.

Knight flirts with Debbie and Debbie teaches him the value of realizing you are geh. 

Ninnies are back but they’re all finance bros but they don’t pay their workers. Debbie helps them fix that so Elders can get pillows.

Debbie finds out that mysterious boss lady is her twin sister!!! Saves Mathew Baynton (AKA gross kangaroo nany) from a gas leak. 

Debbie joins the french revolution

Debbie saves an endangered species with phalic-ass noses.

I have some pretty personal reasons I like seabound too, so the mother and daughter plot hit HARDD even if Maya is a lovely person. I liked how it showed Nya overcoming so many issues and learning just how powerful her ability is.

Nya is just so damn relatable in this season??

Also I forgot the Jaya dance game scene is in this season, its rlly cute :,)

there is definitely areas of the season I think could of been better, I wish more time was spent on the like seafolk’s tensions with each other as I felt the king Basically just like does a speech at Kalmaar on why he is a bad person instead of like showing it more?

I also tend to prefer when villains have proper motives and to me Kalmaar just seems like a hater from birth without too much reason as to why he feels so strongly about it

I understand that the episodes in this one are only 10 minutes though so that makes it difficult

Technically not part of seabound but I also didn’t like how much emphasis was put on the water merging being permanent only for it to very easily be fixed in crystalised, I get they need to move on with the plot and the show wouldnt feel the same without Nya but AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (I really hate the whole no one actually dies thing ninjago has going on)

song 17 is a song called. ahem. Gunpowder Tim vs. The Moon Kaiser this song is the backstory song for Gunpowder Tim, a memeber of the band The Mechanisms. The Mechanisms are a band of immortal space pirates who roam the universe telling stories. (its a real band but all the people in the band are playing characters and nust being a band) they have 4 main albums (and then two other ones that are one off stories and backstories for the band members) Once Upon a Time in Space is all based on fairytales, High Noon Over Camelot is based on auturian legend, Ulysses Dies At Dawn is based on greek myths, and The Bifrost Incident is based on norse mythology, each album is telling a story, and like all of everything is very queer but also basically everyone dies in all the albums so dont expect any happy endings, in the other albums with singles stories there is once alice in wonderland based (but it is related to once upon a time in space) theres also a frankenstein story thats completely standalone

the mechs also have fictions for the band and the albums and also a standalone dorian grey one on their website so theres tons of stories and interesting shit and its also just like good music, very folk musicy as most songs on the albums are based off folk music but obviously changed for their new purpose, best display of this is drunk space pirate which is their version of what do you do with a drunken sailor but it fucks, the band itself has 9 members, one of which is the lost (space) russian princess anastasia but now shes a lesbian engineer who fucks the spaceship all the mechs live on (the aurora), theres also doctor carmilla who is the one who made the mechanisms immortal through their mechanisms

btw gunpowder tim vs the moon kaiser is like a 10 minute song so just. be aware of that if ur gonna listen

1: Are you named after anyone? So I actually found out extremely recently (in the last few months) that yes, I am. I am named after a friend of my maternal grandfather that my mum met once… but she was beautiful and smart and articulate, and that's what she wanted for me, and that was my name from that moment on.

Won't lie, two thoughts occurred: 1, wow I do not live up to my namesake LOL, and 2, did she potentially name me after one of my grandad's many affairs without knowing? (The first I said, the second I kept to myself but OOF…)

2: When was the last time you cried? Approximately 40 minutes ago because there's like 3 songs in the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack that make me cry, including the Finale XDDD

3: Do you have kids? Nope!

4: What sport do you play/have played? I played one netball match, and one basketball tournament - I was more of a dancer.

5: Do you use sarcasm? Constantly. I can't be sarcastic about it because then it sounds like lying lmao.

6: What is the first thing you notice about people? Probably their height. I'm a bit of a wee thing, so I'm always looking up at people XDD

7: What's your eye color? I'm honestly not entirely sure! I lean towards 'hazel' these days.

8: Scary movies or happy endings? Both - sometimes I need everyone to die, sometimes I need everyone to live.

9: Any talents? I can't dance any more, but I can still sing.

11: What are your hobbies? I write again now! That takes up a lot of time between fic, novel, and RPing. I listen to music, loudly, and sing along whether it sounds good or not lol. I watch a lot of TV and movies, there's always something on in the background, and I like to try and watch a lot of non-English things too. I want to try going back to practising playing the flute again, and get back to reading… I've really fallen off the wagon with reading. There's a billion crafts I want to do and I'm set up for most of them, I just have to DO them which… yeah, we all know how that goes XDD

12: Do you have any pets? Sadly my only pets are my Furblets.

13: How tall are you? I am 5'4.

14: Favourite subject in school? Drama. I loved it, and did well in it. I started having severe memory issues in 6th Form which was very obvious when I suddenly couldn't remember scripts from one minute to the next, but through that and a whole host of other hardships I still managed to come out of it with top grades.

15: Dream job? Best selling author whose series gets turned into an award winning TV show or movie series with a ton of mech possibilities? Lottery winner?! In all seriousness… something I can support myself, my mum, and my partner with.

Evangelion: Death(True) (dir. Masayuki, Hideaki Anno)

-Jere Pilapil- 5.5/10 With Evangelion: 3.0 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time getting an IMAX screening at the end of the month (ticket aquired), I decided to rewatch all of the related Neon Genesis Evangelion media that leads up to it, including the TV show, and the two movie that are related to that. The first, Evangelion: Death(True)². True to the nature of everything involving this fucking series, it's confusing as all hell. Evangelion: Death is a clip show, a sort of summary (I'll get to that later), editing the first 24 episodes of the series into a roughly 70 minute movie. The initial release had some newly animated/inserted scenes that have since been relegated to the "director's cuts" of episodes 21-24. Evangelion: Death been re-edited and re-released in various ways, often combined with the film End of Evangelion, an alternate and/or complimentary ending to the series. I tried to explain all this to my wife the other night. It was impossible. I don't know if I'd ever watched any iteration of Evangelion: Death until now, since it is, by reputation, basically a summary of a show that borders on impenetrable no matter how much Hideaki Anno explains or revisits the material. Thankfully, even if the exact details of what the fuck is going on, what does X want, what does MacGuffin Y do, etc. all remain obscured, it's a deeply felt and emotionally evocative show, even in this abridged form. What Evangelion: Death (True)² reminds me of is 1990's Led Zeppelin Boxed Set. Led Zeppelin's discography had been long available at that point, a long and winding road of artistic evolution and innovation. For their part in the CD boxed set craze of the era, part of the selling point was that guitarist Jimmy Page himself went through the albums and mixed 'em all up, spreading most of the music over the course of 4 CDs instead of the original running order. This created new contexts and new juxtapositions of old hits, new links between old and new songs, giving fresh insight to old material. Evangelion: Death (True)² similarly rearranges the familiar Neon Genesis Evangelion beats: we open with events that were flashbacks in the show, the Second Impact that decimated the world. From there, we get a framing device: a performance of Pachelbel's Canon by the pilots of the mech-like Evangelion units. We start, of course, with Shinji Ikari, the horrifically traumatized and mal-socialized protagonist, alone. His story is told in a scattered, hyper-edited, messy way. As the other Evangelion pilots join one by one, we get their stories told similarly. The context here is not chronological, but emotional: it highlights the journey each character takes, individually. The way the show repeats dialogue and animation cels is no doubt a cost-saving measure, but it gets highlighted as an effective artistic one as well. That kinetic montage-style editing, though, makes this movie almost completely inaccessible and useless as a clip show. You can't show this to someone who hasn't seen the show and expect them to get what's happening. There's simply no room to breathe or consider the endless reams of concepts and keywords thrown through the screen at you. If you're familiar with the show, it's an interesting way to review the information, but the show is still the best way to experience the story (much like Led Zeppelin's boxed set vs. their proper albums). It makes sense that this movie was made in 1997-98 (depending on re-release/re-edit) because the TV series may not have been readily available at the time, but now it seems only to be included in DVD/blu-ray/streaming releases for the sake of completion.

Is Ulysses Dies at Dawn my favorite Mechs album because it's my favorite or is it because I'm 2/3rds of the way through a degree in Classics which means I've had many classes reading/analyzing/writing about the myths udad is based on and seeing these stories retold by immortal space pirates makes them something i can actually enjoy again after having to write academic papers based on them
