Hey Jess, as a person who gets curious about hyper specific stuff, I wanted to know what color that yellow/brown-ish sweater was listed as by the designer. I wasn’t trying to be pretentious or something when calling it cognac, btw; it’s a regularly used description in my language, like you would use tan for leather, or dogs in English.
So anyway, I hopped on the John Varvatos site and saw that they call it copper. The cream white one from the beach selfie is listed as charcoal/turtle dove. Now on sale for a mere $235 (from $465). Wasn’t expecting precious little bean to be able to afford that on a music teacher salary. 😉
hello bestie
in this alternate universe, our precious lil' bean got that shirt from a good will <3 just like i actually got an almost exact replica of Ashton's very own yellow/brownish/copper sweater a few months ago for 6 dollars <33

Thinking about my 'Nadders being able to mimick human speech like parrots' concept again but with a slightly darker take on it?
Deadly Nadders are a fiercely loyal species and are social, so what if when they perceive a threat to their flock they gradually learn to lure people away using human voices (likely the sounds of children or people calling for help) to either A) if you're lucky, just get tricked into walking to the edge of the forest/area so you don't find them, or B) get lost in the woods so the Nadder can spineshot you out of sight.
I also think Changewings could do something similar considering their gaze is hypnotic (in the comics didn't Hiccup get hypnotized by one and almost walked off a cliff?)

sorry but saying that the accessibility needs of mentally disabled people are just preferences or about "comfort" is blatantly incorrect. if i can't enter a building because the bright lights and loud noises would send me into a meltdown, then i can't enter the building, and that's not less important than me not being able to enter a building because it's not wheelchair accessible. if you genuinely think that mentally disabled people aren't really struggling, and that it's okay to mock their very real concerns, then that just shows that you've been refusing to listen to their experiences. do better or shut the fuck up.

Basically whenever you see something that gives evidence which makes you think "yeah, exactly! I always knew it!" you should look more into it.
This is re: the calorie post I just reblogged, but is also about that post from a year or two ago where people were like:
"LOOK THIS STUDY BLATANTLY SAYS NO DIETING EVER WORKS, YOU CANT LOSE WEIGHT FROM CHANGES IN FOOD INTAKE"
and the conclusion of the study was like "after studying these 8 fad diets we concludesd that the rate of weight loss evens out after 18 months"
so people were literally just straight up lying, and everyone reblogging it thought "this person says this study proves what I already think is true (that dieting can't work), so it must be true"

how do you tell your Pokemon from others of the same species? Does your skitty have different fur patterns, does your kabuto have like, any imprints on his shell or anything?
oh good question!!! for me for the most part its a lot about attitude and stance, the way they act is very Specific and Recognizable in my brain even if it isnt to others!
for my skitty, winnie, specifically. among some minor fur pattering she's got a very Distinct body type, my friend jokingly calls it "furret-like" lol she's very long and slinky! and she's a bit smaller than other skitties too.
for ponshi, my umbreon, it's a bit harder! umbreons can be told apart by a number of Small Details, like ring size, shine, shade, or location, as well as different fur textures. it's hard to say what Exactly makes him easy to tell apart from others, but i could definitely pick him out of a crowd
since you mentioned sammy.... good question!!!! akjsdnsd i dont know i've ever seen another kabuto irl! i guess ive seen pictures, but i've never had the chance to compare him to another kabuto live, i wouldn't know what anything different would Be. anyone w a kabuto in unova message me lets compare askdjndf

Logging off for a while to focus on my art and get my brain back into normal mode because honestly this site is weirdly stressful sometimes lol. If you don't see me for a while, that's why! I may be back sometime, but for now I have stuff I want to pursue without a constant stream of distractions filling up my very limited attention span. See you then! :)

Oh hey, I don’t think I’ve talked about this, but Connon’s bird Wretch is a rah which are a species of raptorial sea bird (similar to ospreys) that I made up for challenger deep :]
These birds have a symbiotic relationship with sailors (the way honeyguides do with humans) where they will seek out a quarry out at sea for hunters/sailors to find and lead them to it, in exchange for a piece of it. Having a bad relationship with birds basically means you’re not to be trusted and is considered insanely bad luck. In bigger crews, it’s not uncommon to have one of the crewmembers be a designated birdkeeper too.
The birds are usually wild and will only interact with sailors in this way (or by settling on their ships for a little while to rest), but sometimes some birds do stick around with the same guys for long enough that they become pets. That’s essentially what happened with Wretch.
And in Wretch’s case specifically, since Connon dies fairly often, she’s been trained to hone in on her owner wherever she may respawn and lead the rest of the crew to her to pick her up (which as you can imagine is super useful)
