The client may ask for progress updates every 2-4 days, if not longer, should the commissionee not be in contact.

The art may take longer than the estimated time the artist gives. Should that be an issue or concern, the client must tell the artist.

In commissioning the artist, the client acknowledges that the artist is a student and that this is not the artist’s full time job, and the client should not expect the artist to be able to treat it as such.

IMAGE RIGHTS

The client may not, in any way shape or form, use the art in a commission product for NFTs, no matter how much they offer to pay the artist. Should NFTs be made of the art without consent, the client gives full consent for the artist to take legal action against them.

The client may make minor edits to the completed commission (e.g. cropping, adding text/borders, changing brightness/contrast/hue/saturation…

The client may use/reupload the commission for personal/non-commercial use, but only if proper credit to the artist and a linkback to any of the artist’s social media is provided.

If the commission includes characters that do not belong the client, additional credit to the owner(s)/creator(s) of said characters must be provided when using/reuploading for personal/non-commercial use.

The client may not use the commission for any commercial use unless discussed with the artist beforehand.

Life with Turbo on the Internet (x reader head canons)

A/N: First ever fanfic(if this counts???) I tried to keep it in character lmk how I did.... lots of "probably"s in this one. I'm very unsure.

Genre: (Wreck it ralph) Turbo x reader headcannons, fluff and shenanigans! (Hehe that rhymed!)

Summery: He totally lived guys. He survived and escaped to the Internet guys. He's alive and well and living in a shitty website i promise guys (hcs of what I think living on the internet with post-movie turbo/kc would be like) based on this post I made.

You guys live in a website Turbo made with his trial-and-error-achieved coding skills… so its kinda shitty and cluttered. But its cosy and its yours so its fine. It'll probably improve the more Turbo improves his skills, anyhow.

As you'd assume, you'll be spending alot of time on racing related websites and games. He probably got himself banned from a couple games either by messing with the code to make himself better or for harassing players. He'll to try to bypass the bans and sometimes he succeeds! And gets you both banned again because he said a swear word in a kids game.

Of course he will go with you to places pertaining to your interests, whatever that may be. He might be less enthusiastic about it than his precious car games but he'll still go with you because he likes hanging out with you❤ he almost gets you banned again though

Lots of marathoning various games and movies/shows. Someone on tumblr said that he probably watches car crash compilations and like. Yeah. He'd binge watch the shit out of car crash videos and nascar fails. (I hc that he would enjoy Its Always Sunny but for the wrong reason.)

You guys are probably on familiar terms with Knowsmore. Probably one of the first people you and Turbo spoke to when you first entered the Internet, and still speak to since he helps you to get around. Turbo probably would find him annoying, though.

Same with Spamley. Turbo probably hangs around the darknet because of course he would... He probably would try the "Make money playing video games" spiel, success varies. Spamley, despite being a boyfailure, still knows his way around the darknet (barely like he did make that virus guy throw him across the room) Would also find spamley annoying but maybe less so.

Speaking of the darknet, he would bring you along whenever he'd go. he'd hold your hand or arm to make sure he doesn't lose you. Of course he does a myriad of illicit activities. Learning more about programming and hacking, plotting revenge, probably released a couple viruses in websites thatve wronged him, and- 🤢 and🤢 film piracy 🤮 /j

Idk if he'd try to take over another game or if he'd try to find fame another way... I'm still mulling over it tbh.

You don’t have to answer this question as it’s probably dumb to ask…but do you know what platform(s) would be a good starting point? Particularly for original content rather then fanart? I heard deviantart is a good place where alot of ppl got there start on but there’s lots of art thrives and such.

don't even worry, it's not dumb at all! it's hard to gauge where to Begin in the vast hellscape that is the online world. i do get this question [and some adjacent questions] often so please allow me to use your ask as an excuse to post a few of my site rankings for various art things!!

for reference, these are the sites I'll be addressing because i have used them at some point within the last year. please note: my information on Cohost and Itaku specifically may be out of date as I haven't used them in a long while. naturally, this is all solely my perspective. i run both a furry/original content account and an anime/fanart account on most of these sites and run them reasonably independently from one another. these rankings are based on how well each account fares on each site.

I will be talking about Patreon and Ko-Fi as if people will only be posting paywalled content there. you Can publicly post on both sites, but for the sake of this post i'm only going to treat them as paywalled sites since well, that's kind of their purpose.

POSTING ART IN GENERAL

the A-tier list sites here are the ones that are most practical, with a decent member presence and little to no algorithms impairing your reach. the only sites here with any sort of algorithm are tumblr and deviantart, but i feel they don't ruin your reach that much.

B-tier list is mostly centered around popularity. there are massive audiences on both masto and twitter. twitter can be really good if you're posting certain content. mastodon has countless instances [read: servers / subdomains, however you want to call them] that can help narrow down an audience and like-minded people. for example, i use mastodon.art whereas many furries may use meow.social. you Can be discovered by people on other servers than yours.

C-tier has been sorted in accordance to audience. this is solely in my experience, but not a lot of new people are flocking to cohost and itaku. we also just hate facebook in this house and i will never give a facebook products a high rating.

F-tier: if you are a new or growing artist, putting your art behind a paywall or making it a chat platform exclusive thing can really hinder your growth. you can still do this of course, but you won't get as many eyes on your work as you would on a public gallery. threads is there solely due to privacy issues that Cannot be overlooked. i will not recommend it.

POSTING ORIGINAL CONTENT / CHARACTERS / NON-FANWORKS

here's how i'd grade these sites for posting Original content, characters, stories, etc. your best sites will likely be furaffinity, deviantart, and tumblr. i've put these three here for their tag use, discoverability, and audience presence. tumblr can be a little glitchy with its tags, but they DO function.

A-tier is entirely centered around audience presence. these sites are great for showing off your work, but they don't have the same population as the S-tier. mastodon can be good as the quieter instances give you more discoverability. bluesky has been THRIVING when it comes to the furry community as of late [i'm personally on there daily] - the only reason i don't put it as S-tier is because it's invite-only AND you need to rely on your work being found through the Feeds feature if you aren't an already established artist.

B-tier: useful, but population may hinder your growth. toyhouse is GREAT for posting your original characters and stories, but it is invite-only and not necessarily gallery-focused [it can be USED for a gallery, but it's not the main purpose]. you can also post stories and lore to toyhouse. discord and telegram are Good, but again it can be hard to gain an audience through sites that require invites.

C-tier: it is DIFFICULT to grow on paywalled sites with original content. cohost [to my knowledge] has been stagnating with the release of bluesky.

F-tier: threads sucks, the end.

POSTING FANWORK, FANFIC, FANDOM CONTENT IN GENERAL

S-tier here is sorted because of audience presence. while twitter does suck, i'm finding a LOT of success there with fanart. tumblr is The fandom site of course. furaffinity is great for a surprising range of fanart that isn't exclusive to furry, and deviantart's Groups feature is still going strong which can give you that extra exposure.

A-tier is: fans Go here, but the population or algorithm can make things tricky. instagram is good for fanwork but the algorithm and the speed that things are posted there can make discoverability an uphill battle. patreon; if you make comics or art with fan characters [especially 18+ content lmao] you can grow pretty rapidly there. patreon, like any other paywalled site, should be a secondary site and not your Primary posting location. artfol and pillowfort are still growing. pillowfort has a Communities feature - sort of like deviantart groups - that you can submit your art to which gives you that extra exposure. artfol is just a nice gallery site and the tagging system is,, decent enough. a little confusing because the tag system looks up keywords in posts and titles First, you have to tab over to hashtag searching specifically.

B-tier: invite only and audience reach. again, bluesky relies on your art to be picked up in Feeds, as there's currently no tag search. inkblot is growing but has a decent audience. ko-fi isn't as known as patreon for exclusive content but it's still a good site. mastodon has tagging that makes discoverability easier, but mastodon and its many servers can make things confusing for some people. itaku's not as commonly used so it may be harder to gain new eyes there once you establish yourself.

C-tier: posting fanart to these sites Can Work. toyhouse focuses on posting and sorting original characters, so treating it as a gallery site won't get your far fast. it isn't impossible to grow as an artist there, but the site isn't intended for fanart posting. i cannot say much on cohost here. telegram and discord, again, it's harder for people to discover you out of the blue unless you mention your server / channel on another site.

F-tier: fuck threads.

lastly, to address thieves,

thieves are gonna be everywhere. i'm sorry to say, but there will always be shitty people. i recommend the following:

watermark your art. not in the corner, don't just sign in one spot, place a Huge translucent watermark over the WHOLE art. i recommend making it a colour gradient too instead of one solid colour or greyscale.

also: sign your goddamned art! put your username on there!

post a low resolution when sharing online. less than 1200px wide or tall. 72dpi. JPEG format. keep the high res privately for yourself.

add a subtle noise filter over your art. it doesn't have to be high opacity, and it'll make your art a little grainy, but it's good for fucking with AI bots and ruining any print quality potential.

i hope this offers some insight! if you have a different experience on these sites, please feel free to add your testimonial in the replies or reblogs! not every artist is going to have the same experience and growth rate.

I am always happy to see some of the small time artists I share actually gian new followers! I am unable to offer financial help or commission from other artists cause private reasons. hmm as for tips.... i guess it kinda depends on what level of art ur currently at? like, do u already draw but feel ur skills are lacking or are u a complete beginner? either way i think anyone can benefit from figure drawing! literally just look at a pose reference and scribble shapes that are reminiscent of it! and u only need to spend at most 10 minutes on it. i know that the whole "do studies! look at references!" advice is a tired one BUT GENUINELY IT DOES WONDERS!!! plus figure drawing is alot of fun!!! here is a video that i personally learned from! its important to remember though that when it comes to art there are no set in stone rules that one must follow. in art rules are meant to be broken; so once uve learned the How's and Why's u can start implementing ur own little touches and begin stylizing! another video that really helped me in terms of anatomy structure is this video! of course, just like the first one, i deviate a fair share from it aswell, but it was an EXCELLENT starting point! main difference i do is i insert a sort of. Egg shape instead of just doing a square box. it helps highlight where the shoulders go and also gives me a better idea of where the waist and ribcage should be! here is a crude example; though if u want a boxier shape u can just stick to the first one

(remember that these shapes are merely used as a foundation and guide. theyre only there to help give u an idea of how the body would look, so theres no need for them to be perfect. these foundations can ALWAYS be deviated from) to me, it also helps to add guidelines like the blue lines u see! on the torso im using them to indicate where the middle of each side is. so one line down the center, one line down the back, and one line down each armpit basically. as for arms i instead just add a couple circles to indicate perspective

my last tip would probably be to just look at other artists you deeply admire. create a sort of frankensteins monster amalgamation of ur favorite artistic features! steal the way someone draws eyes, steal the way another draws hair, steal the way one renders, etc etc, until u find something that resonates with u. experiment a little! dont be too focused on having ur own unique style, esp if ur just starting out. as artists we all learn a great amount from each other and take inspiration! so just. keep experimenting and in due time ull find what works best for u! art is an ever-growing process! there is always more to learn and more to try!

Might delete all my posts relating to Will Gold (I refuse to say his online name. His real name should be spread and attributed to the abuser he is)

I won't delete everything dsmp related, since I did draw alot of Schlatt art (I still do) but i don't feel great about having art of an abuser up on my page.

My one and only take on this situation, as I don't want to talk about it again: I'm livid. His continuous harm to his friends and partners is disgusting, his lack of accountability disappointing on several levels. I'm a very forgiving person, so I do want to give him the opportunity to change, but ill never see him the same again. I don't think I'll ever support him again, even if he does change. But I always believe in second chances so I'm not going to say he doesn't deserve an opportunity, but the likelihood of earning back that trust is low.

He's a manipulator through and through, using his vulnerable fanbase and catering to the demographic by appearing as if he was a sweet, kind musician who understood mental health. My heart goes out to Shelby and his other victims, as well as his friends who had to learn about how awful he was, and finally his fans who were manipulated by him. Please take the time you need to process this, maybe take a step back and remind yourself that you never really know the person behind the screen. Parasocial relationships are dangerous, and it's important to focus on your mental health first. If anyone ever needs to vent, my messages are open, or even go to my Instagram and dm me there! I hope everyone can heal from this, again Go Shelby for speaking out about her experience. She is so amazingly strong, please show your support.

I know I'm by no means a popular creator, but I do feel like any little bit of help with pushing this truth out is good. Twitter is a cesspool at the moment, Tumblr seems much calmer in regards to things and I feel more comfortable making a post on it.

For my artists who are new to tumblr!

i wanna help you by giving you the basics for posting your art!

TAGGING

tag your art posts!! I mean it! If you want visibility on your art! TAG IT. Some tags hold more weight than others in the fact that people search specific tags for the same thing! Example: a furry tag I feel have worked best for me is sfw furry, but I also tag other ones like furry art, clean furry, anthro, anthro art, furry, etc! sfw furry is one of the first five tags usually on my art post! experimentation with tags will help you figure out which ones work best for you! I know I have my own set of tags I like to look through!

Queuing / Art Dump / Formatting

So some of you will have ALOT of art to post! you CAN choose to dump it all at once, but what I may recommend is to queue it up! It avoids spamming and makes your more visible in the tags! you'll keep popping up at the top of the recently posted in tags so folks who just start browsing dont have to scroll as far down! As for your followers, it seems like you more active! posting everything at once and disappearing will look like you abandon the site every so often. queuing it up or doing little burst rounds every once in awhile makes you look more active on the site! Also if you have a bunch of the same kind of art, say YCH or Icons! Format them nicely! I'm talking about have four of the pieces in one post and queue that up as a post! even if it's similar pieces this can work really well! folks here on tumblr LOVE it when you format thoughtfully! you can make it look very nice or you can make it comically atrocious! making it look nice is the SAFER bet!

Engagement

tumblr has very few algorithms, this ones important bc it's what skyrocketed my own blog: engage. with. other. folks. SERIOUSLY. reblog other's art, leave replies, browse tags, like posts. While tumblr's algorithm is nonexistant on the feed. it does track who you engage with. doing stuff like this will have tumblr recognize your blog and recommend your blog on other blogs it finds similiar. even on tags. ik if you browse the sfw furry tag, mine does show up! and by going to friend's blogs, ill occasionally pop up as on of the "blogs like this one". you dont need to be specific on how you do this other than stay within your interests. actually using the website helps you get off the ground, its algorithms are not fighting against you here.

tumblr is a very different beast from twitter, but fairly straight forward and much friendlier to artists. this is what's worked for me personally. TLDR: To find success in tumblr: tag your posts, spread out your posts, make your posts look nice, and actually engage with other folks here.

Oh goodness where do I begin!!! LONG POST AHEAD!!!! Ok soooo I have some posts tagged as #mad t fandom lore thanks to @spikrock and @hattersgirlalice for giving me the inspiration to start this whole rabbit hole of nostalgia lol which showcases the basic general info of the mtp band performer's nicknames and noteworthy moments in the fandom (mostly gifs of the band that altered the fandom in some way, and fanart from the captains)

U can watch all the videos of the band performing on YouTube (There's numerous sources but I personally like to watch Nick Turchens playlist another place to find vids of T are just random clips here on Tumblr)

The OG Captains from what I can personally remember were @briannacherrygarcia she was THE ARTIST! she made the majority of the fanart headcanons for the fandom along with Storywhisper who wrote fanfics! (unfortunately they're deactivated and it still makes me sad I wanted to reread all their fics to freshen up on the lore but alas they are lost in the void somewhere as far as I know if anybody has links saved uhhhh help a girl out 👀)

There's many other talented fanfic authors and fan-artists!!! Gifs and Photography were a HUGE part of the fandom! People would make reaction gifs out of any and everything! Alot of shippy moments that were captured by these talented peeps made us all go feral EVERY SINGLE. TIME. BCUZ THEY WERE OUR ONLY REFERENCE FOR CANON CHARACTERIZATION STUFF.

Well alot of new people are here it seems so let me give a little insight to how post interaction works around here: Likes: Most platform this boosts in the alg and your friends can see you likes it not how that works here. Tumblr uses abit of a unique now but what use to be more common use of like back in the day. Likes only exist to show a form of agreeance or enjoyment but they do nothing for the op except blow up their notifs and maybe give a dopamine rush of number go up. This is why alot of artist here make info graphics saying you hate their post when you like it because it’s doing nothing to them then showing on their feed but telling them you don’t care enough to actually share it around.  Now you may be wondering “Well why do likes exist then?” Four reasons: 1. To allow the users to easilly backtrack to posts they enjoyed by going to their likes page. 2. For Tumblr to use to more customize ads toward you (yes believe it or not there was a time this hellsite had a healthy advertising network). 3.And this one is abit more prevalent than it use to be, To allow tumblr to edit your for you page to be more tailored to you in it’s algorithm 4. So people can embarrass the shit out of you if you are foolish enough to like dumb things AND have your likes public All in all likes are more for the user engaging then the creator of the post. Reblogs: Reblogs are the number one way to interact on this wasteland relic of the transition between web 1 and 2. Reblogs are basically you like the post you repost it  with your own comments if you want added on.  (fun fact you also use to be able to edit the post above yours before the John Green incident.) When you reblog the post above even if removed from the original blog will stay on your reblog so don’t worry about lost context when making a comment or addition. This is the number one way posts spread on this hellsite and really the only way (aside from like tumblr blaze now but that’s money) outside of outside sites sharing posts from here and trying to claim them. If you see a post you love, a post? Reblog. You think a post has good info? Reblog. Have something to add you think people should know? REEEEBLOGGGG!! This is the main way in showcasing your support for a creator and what they posted  (and helping keep the post from completely disappearing if you want to do that out of spite.) It’s why this site has alot of stuff that can be traced back easier than other sites  and one thing that I love is the reblog chains so you can trace how conversations progress. So you want something to spread or be kept around reblog it. Who knows when the origin may disappear. Replies/comments: Comments, also known as replies, are a relatively newer feature here. They allow you to make a comment on a post that people have to go out of their way to view. Most people use this to say things they are abit shy to have on their actual blog or to try and go after something without giving it the algorithm boost of reblogs. They don’t really do much and most the time people don’t really check these because alot of people don’t even remember they exist. HOWEVER it is a good way to leave feedback without keeping something on your blog if you want to go that route but it doesn’t help the op in the grander scheme. You also can’t track who the people are responding to unless they tag the person another flaw of this system. All in all likes are good for you and your algorithm Reblogs are good for the creator and preservation Comments are good for quick comments that you feel don’t need to be plastered on the larger aspect of the site sort of like a whisper without dming that a few people may spy on. Hope this helps some people out there in understanding how this site is abit different then others out there in interaction.and maybe help people see the reblog not like posts as more than just “op wants attention” it’s a sentiment I’ve seen floating because newbies don’t understand the site that much.

dude your art is so good, do you have any advice for how to improve as an artist who hasn't been very consistent ? I'd love to know what resources you use for studies,how you lay out sketch pages,what you choose to study,any websites you use for art,etc? No pressure ofc! gahhh aehehahe i really appreciate this ^_^ really kind words :D, anyway my one advice is get incredibnly obssesed with a ccharacter and draw them over and over for 5 years. jk.. i hsve other advice 2 :grin: i think, personally what helped me grow was really having other artists evaluate my art and really taking constructive criticism to heart and working on whatever issues i have consistently in my art whether its anatomy or coloring or rendering. i think it is great 2 have other artist friends who can help you and eachother imrpove! i think also pushing yourself to draw things your uncomfortable with like strange angles and different features and really just working on understanding the human form helped me draw more consistently, for me im now at the stage where i am experimenting with my style but before that i was focused on really getting the basics, i think now that i understand like, figure drawing and such i have been able to focus on getting a consistent art style if thats what you mean? but again ive done alot of figure drawings and loose poses. i remember watching this video a couple years ago that helped me get on the track 2 studying figures specifically !! i do not know if it will be of service to you but here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGhYfLQWbp0 , also ive done some studies of figure drawings from other really good artists i was looking at this one book ill try to see if i can remember later. but yea i study from life and other artists, when it comes to painting i find alot of inspiration from stuff i find on pinterest and also other artists on tumblr lol gahh i have been writing alot my bad, but yea i usually google references for poses i dont really use any like, artist reference websites even though i should lol. but yea overall i have done like soo many gesture drawings, and when i frst got into tf2 i studied the comics artstyle alot which i think helped alot with my style and understanding all the muscles in the face you know, also for sketch pages i literally just start a drawing of something and draw around the empty space around it lol, i do not really plan them ever, in like physical sketchbooks i try to fill in the space between all my other sketches so all my drawings kind of meld into eachother cause i think it looks neat, anyway sorry 4 the essay and i hope any of this helps!! I dont rly use tumblr or any socials anymore (maybe i will again somday..) but i sawe ur poll and I just wanted u to know i love ur comic so so so much. when I read it a few months ago it literally took me out of a depressive episode i was having abt my art and inspired me to make comics again and helped me alot as a comics artist. thank u for ur amazing work. once i get some extra money i wanna support u on patreon cuz i wanna see it thru to the end. almost all of my fave webcomics have been like in progress since 2008 id love to see till the end of urs :) <3
