Hiya~ I love your works 🥺 May I request a headcannon about Sectoral heterochromia!Reader (The reader have a pink w/ mint green colours eyes OR A yellow w/ purple) i don't mind any genders
'They never show their eyes and always wear a mask (like Gojo's) until one day, after they became *the characters mention* s/o they decided that they're ready to show their eyes'
w/ Vil,Azul,Jade and Rook
Ignore this if you want,If you DO do this then Thank you!!
~Shiro
Vil, Azul, and Jade With a Reader With Sectoral Hererochromia!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings: Vil Schoenheit, Azul Ashengrotto, Jade Leech x gn!reader (separate)
genre: fluff
cws/tws: ooc Jade?
a/n: hi anonnie I didn’t include Rook in this (for once) cuz in my rules I said I’ll only do 3 characters per request! Also I’m still not totally familiar with how Jade acts so he might be pretty ooc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
¡ Vil Schoenheit !
He was amazed when he first saw your eyes, one being one-toned then the other two-toned, he’s rarely seen anything like this on social media much less in real life.
Was definitely happy that you trusted him enough with something that you usually cover up from other people!
Whenever you two are alone in either Ramshackle or in his room in the Pomefiore dorm he always faces you in bed just to admire you, whether or not you’re awake.
He loves you a lot and thanks the Seven for letting him meet someone as unique as you.
If someone suddenly bursts in the room (usually one of the Adeuce duo or Grim if you’re in Ramshackle) either one of you rush for the blindfold to cover your eyes again if you don’t want to show others yet.
This doesn’t happen at all if you’re in his room in Pomefiore though because everyone knows how to knock there <3 that’s why he prefers for you two to spend time in Pomefiore.
Tumblr media
¡ Azul Ashengrotto !
Azul’s deathly aware and experienced in things such as insecurities, he was over the moon when you let him see your eyes for the first time because that means you trust him a lot and that makes him happy!!
The tweels tease him sometimes for being the only one in your little friend group without a form of heterochromia to which he just scoffs at.
If you two are just sitting in his office or in one of each other’s beds I feel like he’s the type to just suddenly pinch your cheeks impulsively
“What was that for, Azul” you whined while you rubbed your cheek ‘You just look too cute for your own good’ was what he wanted to say but what came out was “I just wanted to” as he buried his face on your shoulder, but you got his message either way.
I WENT OFF TRACK WAIT
If you two are in the same class he likes to just sit and stare at you lovingly but as discreetly as possible if the teacher gives some free time, not just admiring your dual colored eyes but the entirety of you in general.
Does the same thing as Vil where he rushes to cover your eyes if someone suddenly comes in, but in a less panicky way to not cause the other person to ask any questions, especially if it’s a person that you’re not comfortable seeing your eyes yet.
Tumblr media
¡ Jade Leech !
Jade knows when it’s time to joke around (though a lot of his jokes end up sounding like threats) and when to be serious, and of course trusting him enough with something like this is something he’ll take seriously.
He thinks your eyes look like the painted pebbles that somehow survived to sink to the depths where he and Floyd live, they look beautiful.
Heterochromia couple!!
Respects the fact you’d rather hide your eyes from others, though he doesn’t understand why since he thinks it’s the prettiest thing he’s ever seen but even if he doesn’t get why he won’t pry for an answer.
Even if you both have heterochromia he thinks yours is so much more beautiful because it looks like one of your irises is painted which makes you so much better!
I feel like he’d keep accidentally covering your eyes with his hand instead of your blindfold if someone suddenly walks in the room without knocking, it takes him a while to go for the piece of cloth first before his hand.
Whenever he goes out shopping by himself he’d sometimes buy you one or two blindfolds that have designs on it unlike your plain black one to just change things up a bit, but of course no design that would make you look like a fool, he doesn’t aim to humiliate you.
If someone keeps overstepping your boundaries and constantly asking to see what’s under your blindfold Jade’s there in an instant to stop that person, by force if needed <3

I don't know if it's just because I have the most horrible taste in music known to humankind but that playlist isn't actually that bad? I like most of the songs on there
So, I'm constructing the Songs Bill Cipher Would Totally Listen To playlist based on four criteria I've identified for songs I think fit him. For most of the playlist so far, I'm literally alternating 1-2-3-4 through each of these categories:
Literal noise. This might mean sound effects (Shepard tones, sirens, air horns) or might be discordant music that uses these sounds, or might be really experimental music genres, ex: noise music or electroacoustic composition.
60s rock and/or psychedelic music, since the one human song we KNOW he thinks he's good comes from 60s rock. This includes more mainstream selections like Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, and Jimi Hendrix; but also more obscure, more experimental music like Bruce Haack or Joe Meek; but also modern psychedelic rock like Jess and the Ancient Ones.
2000s party music, emphasizing hip hop and heavier EDM genres like dubstep or hardstyle, with a particular focus on songs that could be seen as more "obnoxious"—louder, less melodic songs, oftentimes with lyrics about partying (or lyrics that could be considered pretty obscene) rather than more laid back things about romance and the like. I literally have a couple of tabs open with "most overplayed party songs" and "most overplayed EDM songs" that I'm drawing from, and passing over the ones I don't feel are in-your-face enough. There's also a few memey songs thrown in (Dragostea Din Tei, for instance), but only ones I subjectively feel are widely known.
Piano covers of songs I think he might have learned to play on the piano; popular songs, played in a way that sounds simpler, without as many musical flourishes. (For folks who have played piano and know what I'm talking about here: I'm leaning toward covers that are less legato, not much dynamic range, and lean away from using the sustain pedal, because that's how we see him play in the show.) There's basically no genre consistency to the songs being covered, although I've been leaning toward songs I think Bill might be more interested in lyrically (ex: songs about murders, outlaws)—but even that's not a hard and fast rule.
None of the music is objectively BAD. However:
Category 1 consists COMPLETELY of tracks that either aren't music at all, or else are VERY out-there experimental music most folks would never listen to.
Category 2 has some mainstream music, but then starts sliding into niche obscure 60s acts or niche obscure modern psychedelic acts—and some of those are (deliberately) pretty weird-sounding, too.
Category 3 consists almost entirely of very popular music, BUT very popular music from over a decade ago, and SO popular that a lot of people listening to popular music at the time considered them overplayed. They're songs put on in a club because everyone knows them but also songs most likely to make somebody go "UGH, this song AGAIN???"
Category 4 consists of the most plain piano covers I can find, like if there are two piano covers of the same song I choose the one that sounds more boring to me. If you like a song in category 4 it's probably because you already liked the song itself and so hearing a piano cover is nice—but there's a wide variety of songs being covered in this category, with little uniting them except "they're popular enough to get covered."
Any given song on this playlist is probably good, or at least okay. (Except the William Shatner one.) But: the playlist as a whole is thematically incoherent and discordant. It adds up to less than the sum of its parts.

2. How were you introduced to the genre?
Although my parents were both somewhat into prog rock, it really came from an evolution of my already developing taste in classic rock back in early high school. Strangely enough the iTunes Store of all things was my initial source of discovering all of the classic prog bands due to their recommended albums I'd see after looking up Pink Floyd and Genesis songs. Then youtube became my main source after I learned how to do mp3 conversion and the rest was history ✨
7. Who are your favorite prog rock bands?
If I had to narrow down my absolute fav artists and bands: Pink Floyd, Genesis (+ Peter Gabriel & Steve Hackett's solo careers), Rush, Van Der Graaf Generator, Yes, The Alan Parsons Project, Kate Bush, and Camel
But there are sooooooo many more that I love to death <3
17. Name a song that feels very proggy to you despite being from a different genre
Definitely "Miasma" and "Helvetesfönster" by Ghost, both from the same album, Prequelle.
Ghost is a metal band, but they're known to crossover their sound with multiple different genres whenever they feel like it; these two songs in particular both being 5-6 minute instrumentals that show off the complexity of the band's sound, which is basically prog at its core. Easily two of my favorite songs of theirs, and honestly I think the band's more than ready to tackle a ten minute instrumental if they want!

My big ol band list of a couple bands I adore that everyone should at least try listening to
• System of a down- Nu Metal with a lot of Armenian influence, even if you don't really like metal, Serj Tankian's voice is still worth the listen
• Soundgarden- Grunge band that was from the Sub Pop era. Chris Cornell is also a wonderful singer. I love how sludgy and apocalyptic this band sounds
• Gorillaz (specifically their first 4-5 albums) Gorillaz is usually described as not having a genre, which is true, honestly each song has it's own feel and they have been my main source of inspiration for years. I also adore their art style
• Hole (only their Live Through This Album Though) this band would be so good if not for the fact their lead singer is Courtney Love. Honestly though if you just want some good grunge, Hole is a great band. This is one of those separate art from artist situations
• Feed me Jack- Feed me Jack is the definition of math rock to me, I'm so sad the band broke up because they have such good lyrics mixed with impressive and clean guitar
• Florence and the Machine- what can I say about one of the best singers I've ever heard? Florence has phenomenal range and not only vocal style but musical style as well. I can only really describe her sound as 'goddess music'
• Lemon Demon- I just think he's cool, and his instrumentals are stupidly well done
• Pink Floyd- I know they're pretty popular but honestly there's still one of my favorites, if you hunger for some classic prog rock, this is a tasty meal
• Sepultura- Brazilian death metal band with amazing percussion. I'm not much of a death metal fan myself but I can't help but like these guys
• Destroy Boys- Just a really fun punk rock group
• Great Van Fleet- they make my 70's rock brain really happy, and Josh Kitzka has an amazing voice
• Red hot chili peppers- they have a really unique style, a mix of funk and chill rock, they are so fun to listen to

"Anonymously make an assumption about me and I'll confirm/deny it"
You would be such a fan of rock music if it weren't for the agonies of listening to sounds.
Partially true! I am a huge fan of music, but rock is not my main genre. There are some genres that tend to overstimulate me so I can't really listen to them much even though I like them, such as power metal. Rock tends to be easier to listen to than that, but a lot of it doesn't do much for me musically. The rock that I do like is mostly prog rock (especially Pink Floyd. They're excellent). I'm also a fan of the subgenre of rock that happens when a band used to play doom metal but then got tired of it (for example, the most recent stuff by Anathema or The Prophecy). This isn't a huge genre but it's weird that it keeps happening.
So, the agonies of listening to sounds absolutely do limit my enjoyment of music, but what limits how much of a rock fan I am is mostly that rock that's interesting is difficult to separate from rock that's boring.

Review Lil Yachtys album Lets Start Here in the tone of Siskel and Ebert
Review Lil Yachty’s album “Let’s Start Here” in the tone of Siskel and Ebert Siskel:Well, Gene, it looks like Lil Yachty has decided to take quite the detour with "Let's Start Here." Known for his playful, trap-infused rap, Yachty ditches the autotuned waters of mumble rap and dives headfirst into the deep end of psychedelic rock. It's like seeing a clown swap his red nose for a Fender Stratocaster. But does this transformation hold up?Ebert:Indeed, Roger. Yachty's bold genre-bending is a breath of fresh air, albeit one laced with acid trip fumes. The album's opener, "The Black Seminole," showcases sprawling guitar solos and ethereal synths, setting a tone that’s more Woodstock than SoundCloud. It's ambitious, no doubt, but does ambition translate to coherence?Siskel:Ambition is definitely there, but coherence, not so much. "Let's Start Here" is a sonic roller coaster. Tracks like "pRETTy" and "sAy sOMETHINg" feel like they're on the verge of something great, but often veer off into indulgent experimentation. It's like he’s trying to be Pink Floyd but ends up sounding more like a kid who found his dad's old vinyl collection and decided to remix it on GarageBand.Ebert:That’s a fair point, Roger. While there’s a charming rawness to tracks like "IVE OFFICIALLY LOST ViSiON!!!!", the constant shifting in style and tone can feel disjointed. It’s as if Yachty is searching for his identity in real time, and we’re along for the ride. There are moments of brilliance – the lush, expansive production on "the ride-" and the haunting, introspective lyrics of "running out of time" stand out.Siskel:Yes, those moments are undeniably striking. But the album's scattershot approach can be tiring. It’s like he’s thrown a handful of darts at a genre board, hoping something sticks. Sometimes it does, but other times it feels more like a mess than a masterpiece. Ebert:True, yet there’s something admirable about an artist willing to risk it all on an experimental pivot. "Let's Start Here" may not be a flawless success, but it’s a fascinating failure. Yachty’s willingness to defy expectations and chart a new course is commendable. For fans looking for the familiar, this might be a tough pill to swallow, but for those willing to embrace the chaos, it’s an intriguing listen.Siskel:In the end, it’s a mixed bag. "Let’s Start Here" is far from perfect, but it’s a testament to Lil Yachty’s evolving artistry. It’s confusing, chaotic, and at times brilliant. Whether it’s a misstep or a masterpiece, it’s certainly memorable.Ebert:Agreed, Roger. And that, in itself, is worth a listen. PSYCHEDELIC DR*GS AND THEIR ROLE IN MUSIC
Many times I see these long disputes about what music might be considered 'psychedelic' genre-wise - I've found, in many instances, I don't see them as psychedelic at all [the original meaning of the word is 'mind-manifesting'], even though they supposedly fall into the category, while other times the music is purely psy to me - moving, inspiring, taking me on an inward journey - but in terms of genre labeling, they're nowhere near. A unique example is Pink Floyd; the band rigorously declined to be categorized as psychedelic rock after the 60s [they even changed the lyrics of Echoes so it wouldn't sound too sci-fi] - to me, they're still the ultimate trip to listen to, and I consider even their later albums just that, psychedelic, mind-manifesting/altering/expanding.

5, 15 & 20 (please!)
Some bands you wish you had seen before they broke up: Oh jeez there's TONNES: - Big Country before we lost Stuart Adamson (I saw them this year and they're still really fucking good, but,) - Pink Floyd (both with Roger Waters, when they toured with Animals, and after that when they toured in the 90s) - They're still going, but I would have loved to have seen Journey with Steve Perry. Arnel is *incredible* but, man,,,, - Again, not really one that broke up, but I'd have loved to have seen Meliora-era Ghost, there was a Vibe to the Nameless Ghouls before their working relationship fell apart. The new Ghouls are incredible, Iwould argue they sound better than ever, but there's a scrappiness to that time of the band that I really like. And the Live Album from then doesn't really do it justice
An Artist I Used to Like but Don't Like Anymore Hmmm, I don't know, I don't often stop liking bands, just like. Stop listening to them for a while and sometimes revisit them down the line? I guess the closest is Bon Jovi. They were my favourite band in high school (until I found Pink Floyd), including the newer records. There's still some decent stuff on those newer albums but I was giving them a LOT more credit than I should have been, and I don't know, their sound doesn't do it for me as much as it used to, Is there an artist that changed so much I stopped liking them? Again, Bon Jovi are maybe closest to this? Their newer albums are nothing like the Hair Metal they started out as, but they were always trendchasers so it makes sense they changed as pop music did. That would have been fine but.. I just really think the songwriting dropped waaaaaay off lmao. Honestly, most of my favourite bands are the ones that do change a lot over time, I'm not drawn to specific genres as much as I am drawn to really strong personalities; so Pink Floyd like I mentioned, Ghost, The 1975, all of them changed so much between their first album and most recent and I really like that about them!

whenever i’m the mood, i load up pink floyd’s the wall on spotify and i always think it’s really cool that the song-popularity-meter on the righthand side (on desktop spotify) is pretty equal across every track. like, that tells me a majority of the people who listened to music from this album listened to the entire thing, probably in a linear fashion from beginning to end, and idk why but i find that really sweet

The thing about Zeppelin is:
I'm reading histories of disco at the moment, which discuss rock radio stations in the 1970s. These stations constructed the canon of what is now known as "classic rock", i.e. rock that has been inducted into a canon of The Classics by these specific radio DJs and other establishment bodies.
(you may be wondering, how many of those artists were black? One radio station discussed would only admit a single artist - Jimi Hendrix. Classic Rock remains a male-dominated and white sort of affair because it was deliberately constructed as one.)
So I guess if you wanted to label Zeppelin you'd say, it's classic rock. And they're kinda the template for classic rock: it looks, sounds, feels a bit like that. But they weren't making classic rock at the time, because that didn't exist. They were making blues on their early albums, covering blues standards with their own twist; and they understood themselves as making prog rock the rest of the time. It's only after-the-fact (and in part, based on them), that the concept of Classic Rock sort of solidified. Some prog rock is classic rock, but most is not - its prog, a category that exists alongside/in tension with classic rock. Comfortably Numb has that guitar solo: is classic rock. Squonk is heavier: is classic rock. Fountain of Salmacis is fey and unusual, and is NOT classic rock.
I suspect - and this is awkward, but *shrug* - I suspect some of the reluctance to file LZ into prog is because they are a very, very good band. It seems redundant to say that. But it'd totally bum out debates like "who was the greatest vocalist/lead guitarist/drummer in prog?". Some bands can be a lot of things and some bands are specialists. Because of the way we understand the landscape of music, the way we divide it up (and because we've divided it up in order to understand LZ first and other things in comparison to/in tension with it) - it seems natural to put it in a different location to bands who can definitely only be prog (within our current mappings).
We could understand the landscape differently, which would reveal new ways of seeing.
[I did disagree with my husband very strongly about LZ-is-prog and he won me over comprehensively (that fucking synth intro in Carouselambra. lol.) but I think about it a lot now, because of that process of defining useful categories. What I'm looking for when I seek out prog sounds a lot like Battle of Evermore, and the acoustic portions of Stairway to Heaven; which I mentally group with Pink Floyd's Julia Dream, or the green twinkling of Cinema Show or Dancing with a Moonlit Knight or Stagnation. That defines what's important about the genre to me, & arguably that isn't prog (but it isn't acid folk because I've listened to a lot of that). There's not a name for what I like, I suppose. I could never get into Yes, but my trajectory from being very into Genesis was being very into bits of Zeppelin, bits of early Pink Floyd, bits of Camel, bits of Pentangle - but never the whole, and those bits which sit naturally together sit more loudly to me than the bits that are separate. I like pastoral imagery, flutes or mellotrons pretending to be flutes, arpeggio acoustic guitar]

i legitimately can't get enough of bands that have such a diverse discography genre and sound-wise but still retain the nature of their own sound when they explore different genres. like if you listen to Piper at the Gates of Dawn back to back with The Wall, they're such different albums but still unmistakably pink floyd. bands that aren't afraid to explore are my fucking favorite

4, 12, 15 and 16 for the film ask game you reblogged 👀
Thank you so much! I love doing ask games!
4) A film you could watch on repeat for the rest of your life?
I'm chosing one per franchise
Beauty and the Beast
Pink Floyd The Wall
Apocalypse Now Redux
Evil Dead II (sorry Evil Dead 1 Ash, even though I [REDACTED])
My Fair Lady
Star Trek II
12) A movie that holds a special place in your heart?
Like the previous one, I'm not chosing 1, but I'll give one movie per genre I like, and no overlapping, this isn’t the oscars where Disney can strike out in every category (probably because they pay off the academy)
Science Fiction - Star Trek IV (I would have chose Star Trek II, but I just feel like it's right for me to choose the more absurd and chaotic of the original Star Trek movies lol)
Disney (they're basically their own genre) - Beauty and the Beast
Horror - Evil Dead
Musical - My Fair Lady
Romance - Roman Holiday
Drama - Apocalypse Now Redux
Biographical - Pink Floyd The Wall
15) A film everyone loves but you hate?
There's quite a few, but I genuinely don’t get the hype of Lion King. I beg to differ on The Princess and the Frog dvd cover that the music is the best since Lion King, but I think they should have put Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tarzan, Hercules, and Hunchback of Notre Dame. Not to sound like an asshole, but Lion King never impressed me. Yeah Mufasa dying was a turning point, but I wasn't really affected by it. Also, Be Prepared and just Scar and his evil folks are Nothing compared to Ramses II, the high priests, and Playing With The Big Boys from Prince of Egypt. I'd also like to give a big shout out to Disney for over saturating its merchandising budget with Lion King and over shadowing its other movies from the first renaissance. I know it's unfair to compare species, but Gaston, Frollo, Jafar, Clayton, Radcliffe, and Shan Yu are way more vile than Scar. All Scar wants is to kill his brother and nephew to secure his right to the throne, monarchies do that all the time, why is it different here? As you can tell, Lion King wasn't my cup of tea growing up, and I doubt it ever will be, even though I've already went through losing my dad
16) A film you love but everyone else hates?
Only movies to come to mind are
Beauty and the Beast (2017) - it was a good stand alone movie, y'all are just hooked on nostalgia
Citizen Kane - I've only heard Boomers, Gen X, and pretentious movie snobs say they love it
(insert all Mel Brooks movies here) - History of the World Part I and Robin Hood Men In Tights are underrated, that doesn't mean I don't love Spaceballs
I can't think of any other movies lol

1) Hi! I've just read your posts about Harry's songwriting skills and rock edge and I just wanted to thank you for writing those, they're brilliant. Also, the sentence "A person like him comes along once a generation" genuinely got me teared up, I couldn't agree more :') I wanted to ask you, since you've discussed it, what kind of solo album you think harry would make? Of course we don't know for sure if he'll end up making one since there is no confirmation yet, and you said you'd like him to
2) to go darker and more dramatic, but in terms of style and music genre? Cause I’ve always thought harry would go for a more rock'n'roll, indie sound (à la James Bay for example) so hearing that he was writing with max martin and david guetta (so they said, at least) got me a bit “???” cause I wasn’t expecting an extremely pop-y record. So I wanted to ask you what’s your opinion on the matter? What do you think his solo album will be like (if we’ll have one)?
ANSWER:
Hi Julie!
You’ve asked the million-dollar question. Everyone in the pop music business is dying to find out. One account I follow, @mellygrant, has this hypothetical timeline; I think it’s plausible.
http://mellygrant.com/post/151942778844/how-accurate-of-a-timeline-do-you-think-this-is
No announcement from Harry yet, but there’s been so much speculation and anticipation, if his team announced a week in advance an album of him reading the alphabet, he would smash it out of the park.
I’m of the opinion that eventually One Direction (OT4) will come back as a band. They can all succeed greatly as solo artists, but One Direction’s earnings and the loyalty of the fan base defy the traditional boyband trajectory. There is s lot of money to be made– too much to walk away from. In 2016, One Direction, in their last year of contract, brought in >$200 million in revenue and $110 million in profits. This is simply not the norm for boy bands.
“One Direction’s total did fall a bit from last year’s $130 million mark, but is still much more than recent years: the group banked $75 million in 2014 and $42 million in 2013.” (http://www.forbes.com/sites/zackomalleygreenburg/2016/07/12/one-direction-earnings-2016-110-million/)
The unknown factor is how Harry wants his career to go. I hate to put it in strictly business terms, but 1) it’s much easier to manage a single career than a group, 2) the big money in music is in becoming a brand that reaches across industries, recognized across multiple media platforms. Touring and merchandise may generate money, but it is HARD WORK. The real money is in controlling the business aspects of the industry: production and distribution, collaboration with fashion, cross-medium promotion through acting and modeling. Business models include Beyoncé, Jay-Z, & Britney Spears, the former two of whom have a net worth of >$1 billion.
Sorry for the digression.
As much as I would love for Harry to put out a concept album, in the mode of A Night at the Opera (Queen), Stop Making Sense (Talking Heads), or Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd), he is not going to do that for his first album. I think intellectually he would like to do it, but a debut album, even from someone as well known as Harry, is an album to generate singles and hits, to impress critics, to broaden name recognition and fan demographic.
In that sense, I think Zayn has actually succeeded in making a really good first solo album. He established an image and a sound that were uniquely Zayn, different enough from One Direction to broaden his demographic. His album has been critically praised and was on end-of-year best-of lists. He generated some decent singles; sales were very good. They could have been even better with more public performances and promo. He flexed his artistic muscles and showed what his voice could do, outside the confines of what he had done previously. It was a smart album, just really poorly publicized.
I think Harry’s team is well aware of all of these factors. The album will not reflect all of Harry’s songwriting influences or preferences.
To give an example, (unpopular opinion!), I actually think that Adele’s best album was 19. The songs on 25 written for a radio “hit,” like “Send My Love (To Your New Lover),” written by Max Martin, have a tone that doesn’t sound like Adele anymore. I don’t know the right word–maybe a bit flippant and smug? I think she sounded different, rawer, better, in 19. My point is that artists don’t always improve with collaboration, when they do it with the singular aim of generating a reliable hit single.
So, I think Harry’s album will 1) showcase what he can do with his voice. His voice is a magical instrument that many musicians have openly praised and envied. There will be ballads. They will have different accompanying instrumentation from what we’re used to. 2) there will be songs written to be hits. Acoustic / piano-folk influenced songs have not traditionally done well on radio. “I Want to Write You a Song” would never be released as a single. I expect something rooted in pop but with a rock influence, possibly with a dance influence as well. Pop-dance crossovers have done really well (see Just Hold On, Into You, Cheap Thrills, Ride). Harry hasn’t stepped into that genre; he would do great. 3) the album will have a few songs he insists on putting in, even if they never make it to radio. I expect love songs, if I know my Harry.
In my opinion, Harry is unlikely to become “mostly Hollywood actor, minor musician.” I think he loves music too much. I don’t think of Harry as driven primarily by fame and glory; that’s part of his charm– he’s real. Five years in the goldfish bowl of unquestioned adulation have not changed him. He’s older now, more knowledgeable about business. Yet he remains fundamentally himself.
Side note: I love that the boys are working in different directions on their own. I want each one of them to learn as much as possible, free from the constraints they were under as a boy band– in business as well as musically. They’ve improved so much as songwriters in the last 3 years alone. One thing that is different about One Direction from other boy bands is how much they all obviously like each other. Competition is not a fear for them– they want to support each other. Coming together for Louis’s X Factor performance was proof of that. Outside forces and trash media have tried to divide them, but they do not act divided at all. I’m so glad I picked the right band to support. They’re lovely people.
