There is an ad that keeps coming up on my dash that basically says “aren’t you tired of work sucking so much and being so difficult? You should try teaching!” and, uh, as someone who used to be a substitute teacher—

#chit chat #bites you bites you bites you #teaching isn’t hard??? teaching doesn’t suck??? teaching?????#in this economy?#under these conditions??#give me a fucking break #yes i did enjoy teaching yes i did adore the kids but it did suck and it was very difficult #a student stabbed someone while i was on the clock at one of the high schools i taught at #seventh graders were always intentionally difficult and liked to try and make me cry in their classes #also there were two separate occasions that i showed up to work only to be informed that the class had gone on a field trip without me #like another teacher took them and the bus had left an hour ago #that was always exciting #also the fuckin hall monitors had it out for me #they were always yelling at me for wandering the halls and i always had to have my badge to prove i was not a student #but they never wanted to help me find the office or classroom I needed to get to #and this was all pre covid i imagine it’s far worse now

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love

I think we as a society should bring back brotps. I think we should be weirder about characters being friends the same way people are weird about ships. Make those two characters who interacted once or twice besties. Make it difficult for them to get rid of each other even if they want to. Go nuts

I've been collecting pottery shards from the fields and woodland since I moved to the countryside a few years ago, I have so many now that I think I'll relocate them to containers, but it's nice to get a proper photo first.

#before this it was seaglass lol #the population of my village is like <200 and most of them are over 70 and don't go out so there aint much on the floor #its slim pickings out here for things from the living #but the dead leave plenty...#I find (animal....) skulls quite often but it's a bunch of effort to clean them but man if I had time #I do have a couple tho!#I also found a couple horseshoes out here which is always exciting
