still can't believe people recommend blink as your first doctor who episode. it's not a bad episode but it's the farthest thing from doctor who you can get while still watching doctor who. every other doctor lite episode is more doctor who than blink is. yeah, it's one of the better ''timey wimey'' episodes in doctor who I'll give it that, but doctor who rarely makes much use of the ''timey wimey'' elements of time travel (I CHOOSE to ignore moffat era ''timey wimey'' shit because it's convoluted and it sucks) so by recommending it as a good introduction to the show you are setting people up for failure because 1) anyone who watches blink before any other episode will think it's a show about ''timey wimey'' shit and be disappointed when it's not and 2) the doctor and martha are barely in it so you can't even get a sense of the central premise of the show to see if you'll like it. basically, if anyone tells you to watch blink before anything else then you shouldn't trust their doctor who opinions because they're dumb

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
