This girl needs like, a mathletes equivalent for real, just any kind of hobby she can be good at, or at least really enjoy 😭. I've always headcanoned her as, like, a literature person, so maybe she's good at writing. I could also see her being good at cooking or embroidery or playing guitar or something I'm not picky just please let this girl have some skills somewhere 🙏🙏

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

I love love love Charmy, who doesn't?! She's the goofiest silliest most adorable little creature that never failed to put a big darn smile in my face. She's her and she's so real at whatever she does or says and I'm forever in love with her.

Hell's frozen before I dislike her, but I'm tired of that mana restoring spell she keeps using when she has wolfie and both true magic and ultimate magic in her arsanel.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

HER MAGIC ATTRIBUTES! Cotton magic is SUCH a cool ability, it's fun and creative and ridiculously broken, while food magic - it's just mindblowingly fitting, and it's so full of halloween-themed potential like where's my Charmy eating a devil moment?

If you ask me which is my favorite between the two however I'll go with cotton magic because, because - the sheep in wolf's clothing? the sunwukung riding cloud Imaginary? There's something with this attribute that is just so chef's kiss!

Personality wise Charmy acts like everyone's grandmother and I love that about her.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

I think Charmy and Vanessa are besties actually, otherwise she gives me the impression of someone more suited with simple-minded and easygoing-yet-passionate people like her. Luck and Rill both come to mind and I like both of her friendships with them, but personally I will go with Asta for my answer to this question - their interaction always give me cousins vibes.

i feel like the Rite of Parting takes place a day or something after the Northland Bank confrontation, but again i'm too lazy to check. either way, Lumi and Kaeya ARE still kinda injured from the whole fight w/ Childe, so they DO have to rest at least for like a day??? idr the timeline in the actual game, but i. Do. what i. want. these scars are prolly gonna last, too,,,,

the rest of this is just my personal h/c of the Rite of Parting. specifically the bit where Keqing asks Lumi what they can do in thanks, and Lumi's like 'how about some missing persons posters?'

and this time i feel like it's fine if they do just do missing persons posters here. like genuinely Lumi's like 'well, so far i've got the companions i need, so there's no biggie', but even then Ningguang and Keqing prolly have eyes all over the place looking for her brother. but still, Lumi strolling up after saving the harbor from an ancient god and just being like 'how abt helping me put up posters' is just so FUCKING FUNNY???? LIKE GIRL,,,

anyway i think it's the literal coolest, literally the silliest goofiest thing. meanwhile Kaeya's like 'well dw i can at least utilize ur hero status to do my job as an envoy', which he does.

the conversation with Zhongli is a little less tense, since time has passed since their confrontation w/ him and Signora in the Golden House (and also b/c neither Harbinger is there at the moment, fyi).

i feel like Lumi is a little more open to hearing his side of things and how he explains things, and Kaeya's mostly just wary of Zhongli (but still empathetic b/c man, this guys been alive for an unfathomably large amt of time). i like to think that the conversation starts out pretty tense, but then they get to the topic of Mora and Lumi and Kaeya are once again amused by Zhongli's complete and utter Mora blindness. Kaeya's a little concerned abt the whole 'no more Mora' thing, until Lumi points out that the Leylines blossoms kinda give up Mora so maybe it'll be fine.

also i feel like Zhongli probably tries and gets them to go rest after a little while, b/c again,,, they're still a bit injured,,, and he is Concerned(tm),,,

(side not: speaking of Leyline blossoms, i genuinely have a thought abt this. b/c Mora is both money and a catalyst, so when u use it to upgrade things, i feel like it's just put into the Leylines and u can just obtain it that way??? but idk how much stock ppl might put into that)

he's pretty hard on himself for most things but something i think he prides himself on is his quidditch skills. as for me, i like everything about him. he's my baby boy.

8: What is a smell that makes them feel at home?

hmm... probably lavender. i imagine his mother wore sort of a lavender scented perfume before she died.

12: What is their safe place? And what does "safe place" mean to them?

jamie's safe place is 1000% at home. in general he's very extroverted and can feel 'safe' just about anywhere, but at home, with his extended family, he feels the most comfortable and cared for. a safe space to him is any place he can feel relaxed and like himself without having to worry about anything at all.

13: Do they prefer warm or cold temperatures? What is their favourite season and why?

he's definitely more of a warm weather guy, but he can appreciate winter and some good snow. the best season for him is spring because the weather is almost always pretty moderate. although his bf has a pretty bad pollen allergy so it's not all good...

20: What is their hidden talent? Is it a skill they've been practising since childhood or is it something they just happened to know but never got to show?

baking! he's a really good baker, a skill that carried over from his childhood. when he was little he and his dad would bake together a lot, probably as a way to cope with the loss of jamie's mother. he doesn't have much time to bake anymore because of school, quidditch, etc, but he's often the one who bakes cakes/treats for friends' birthdays and such.

32: Draw or describe the silliest outfit you can think of. It's now in their wardrobe!

i think the goofiest outfit that he'd own and wear regularly would be one of those animal pyjama onesie things. typically he's very put-together and cares somewhat about his clothes, but i also think sometimes he'd wear something silly like that. it would be in the likeness of a magical creature. likely a diricawl because those look the goofiest to me.

41: If they were a bath bomb, what scents and colours would you use to describe their personality?

this is a hard one tbh. i think he would be a bath bomb that would smell very fresh, probably with pine or fir oil. it would be blue and green, because they are very calming colours supposedly, and i think he's the kind of guy that has a very relaxing presence/aura.

Let Me Love You: Chapter 2

@c-rose2081 : Addison’s always taken care of herself. So when she gets sick, and Zed wants to help, she wants NONE of it. Unfortunately, this just results in a very sick and crabby Addison, and an equally determined Zed who wants nothing more then to coddle her until she’s better.

Addison wakes up under a fuzzy throw blanket in Zed's giant king bed, with Zed nowhere to be found. Despite the thinness of the blanket, and the fact that she's now dressed in only one of Zed's baggy tee-shirts, she's sweating. She internally groans as it dawns on her that, great, she had a fever now too. As if the body aches, head-pounding, congestion, and nasty cough weren't enough, now she's burning up!

She curls up under the blanket as a wave of chills overcomes her sweating body. She hates this, she really, really hates this. Being sick sucks in the worst way. This is almost worse than the last time she was left recovering in Zed's bed…

The bedroom door opens across the room, Zed quiet footfalls grazing quietly across the floor. "Addy? You up yet?" he whispers.

She groans in response. She even goes as far as to pull the blanket up over her head, cold sweats be damned.

He chuckles lightly, walking over to her side of the bed. He pokes her head through the blanket and she peeks out from beneath the covers. In the time since they've been at his place (probably a few hours), he's changed out of his designer suit and into a pair of sweatpants - no shirt. Clearly taunting her.

She stares at him for a moment, at the mass of tattoos covering his tan skin, spanning across his pecs and shoulders. Under normal circumstances, she'd want nothing more than to trace every line and curve with her fingers while they cuddle in his massively comfy bed. Ask him questions, really dig into his life. After all she only knows the story behind the tattoos on his right arm, and a few on his back. She plans on getting through all of them before the year ends.

But she can't do any of that today. She's sick, which means no cuddling, so instead she glared at him. "Where's your shirt?"

"You love it when I'm shirtless," he counters.

Addison groans and rolls onto her back. She throws an arm over her eyes and grumbles, "Not when I'm sick."

Zed chuckles again. He must really think this is hilarious.

The bed dips on the side opposite her; she turns her head and opens her eyes, watching him climb in beside her. "What're you doing? I'm sick," she complains.

"Yeah, I know. And super whiny too." He pokes her side, ignoring her pout. "For someone who was so adamant they weren't sick this morning, you've done nothing but complain. Not that I mind, though, this side of you is cute too."

"Zed…"

Despite her protests, he scoots closer, but stops there. He doesn't pull her in or wrap his arms around her like he usually would, just leans back against the headboard. "We're gonna watch a movie, and I'm gonna heal you with a million stupid jokes. And in ten minutes soup will be ready to heal you."

He smiles at her. She tries to keep up her pout, but ends up with a small smile on her face. She can't help it, aside from being so cute, he really does care about her. Which makes him even cuter.

She leans over, her head falling on his arm. Zed shifts, wrapping his arm around her while she leans on his chest.

"You're so warm," he comments as he flips on the television.

Addison sniffs indignantly. "I'm sick."

Zed grins down at her. "You'll be better before you know it, Addy. Aside from the bomb homemade soup you're about to have —" She giggles, shaking her head, "you do always say my cuddles are magic. And magical cuddles are recipe for healing."

Addison holds back a giggle. For a tough, powerful mob boss, Zed always knew how to make her laugh and smile with the silliest, goofiest things. The best part is she's usually one of the only people that gets to see this side of him.

"If you keep cuddling me you'll get sick," she points out.

"Unlike you, I take my Flinstone gummies everyday."

She laughs, right along with him. He puts on her favorite older cartoon, keeping the volume on low because he knows she loves to talk about it. Even though she's sick, and they've watched this particular movie at least twice already, she has something new to tell him — how one of the voice actresses went into labor in the studio but didn't tell anyone until she finished for the day, how they almost lost half the movie due to a system glitch but luckily, one of the interns had backed it all up to a random hard drive that took them three whole weeks to find.

And like every time she launches into every little behind the scenes detail, she pauses, her face suddenly overcome with worry. "I'm not boring you, am I?"

Zed grins and shakes his head. "Never. Although I do need to go get your soup, but when I get back you have to finish telling me about the drama between the director and male lead."

She looks at him, the tip of her nose red and her skin just a little green and pale, but with those big blue eyes that he loves so much. "Really?" she asks.

"Yeah of course! I love all your stories, especially all the juicy ones." He kisses the top of her head and she giggles. Then he climbs out of bed, rushing out of the bedroom.

He returns not long later, carrying a wood tray with a steaming bowl of soup on top. He carries the tray over to her, but before he sets it down he does a faux bow, proclaiming, "For you, my love!"

Addison giggles, watching as he sets the tray down over her lap. In addition to his 'magical healing soup,' he brought her a cup of tea in a short but wide, white mug with flower engravings. All the times she's spent at his home and this is the first time she's seeing this cup.

It probably belonged to his mom, which only made her heart swell at the thought of Zed allowing her to use something so sentimental to him. Everything his mother owned or did was sacred in his home. And, curious as she was, she knew not to ask about it. It wasn't something he was ready to share yet, which she respected.

Zed climbs back into bed on the other side. He looks at her with a wide, mischievous grin. "Try the soup, then tell me if it's the same as the one at the diner."

She rolls her eyes with a smile. She knows it'll be a little different, but his mom came up with almost every recipe at the diner. Of course they're going to be similar!

But, she'll humor him a bit. He's so excited, anyway.

Addison picks up her spoon, gathering a spoonful and bringing it to her lips and slowly sipping it. And — he's right! Whatever it is he did to the soup, the same soup she and Wyatt have made hundreds of times, it's just ten times better! And that's with her impaired sense of taste and smell! She can't even imagine how good it would be if she wasn't sick.

"Ohmygod," she practically moans.

Zed cackles, his whole body shaking with laughter. Meanwhile, Addison shovels another spoonful in her mouth. "I told you!" he exclaims.

She nods, having been thoroughly bested by her boyfriend and honestly loving it. "How is this better?! I mean, everything at the diner is amazing, don't get me wrong, but —"

"When a Necrodopolis makes it, it's just better," Zed says.

"What did you do differently?"

Zed grins. "That's a Necrodopolis secret," he says with a wink. "But I'm sure one day, I'll be showing it to you."

Addison giggles, heat quickly spreading up her neck. The thought of one day being his wife…wow.

"I can't wait!" she can't help but squeal.

Zed leans over, smothering her cheek with a wet kiss. Addison giggles, squirming under his embrace. "Zed! I'm sick!"

"Yeah, yeah, eat your soup and tell me how great I am at making soup."

Addison giggles. "This is truly great, though. What else can you make from the diner?"

Zed shrugs. "Just about everything. I worked there growing up — on and off."

"Really?"

"Oh yeah. Mom loved free labor!" He laughs to himself. "Me and Zoe, Eliza whenever she was free."

"And Bonzo?"

"Nah, he was always doing marching band and cheer, he was really busy, like all the time." Zed shrugs. "But he was always around. Mom used to pretend to be annoyed when we would just hang out at the diner, but, I mean, she loved all my friends."

Addison looks at him with a raised eyebrow. She can't respond, though, already reinvested in her soup. Zed settles into the silence for a moment, neither hitting play on the program nor saying much else on the matter. It happens all the time, though. She knows he loves his mom, and it must hurt thinking about her, so Addison never pushes.

But then, much to her surprise, he says, "She would've loved you, Addy."

She nearly chokes on her soup, managing to get out, "Huh?"

Zed raises an eyebrow at her, mildly surprised by her reaction. "What? Have I never told you that?" Addison shakes her head. "Me and Zoe talk about it sometimes. I mean, you guys are practically cut from the same cloth. Super sweet but also super silly. She would've liked you way more than she likes me."

"Zed…"

"Nah, it's true. I mean, you're kind, sweet, smart as hell. Plus, I love you." He sits up and smiles at her. "I mean, you're the perfect woman, and the only woman for me. So, as Zynthia Necrodopolis's favorite son, she would've loved you because I love you."

Addison smiles at the sentiment, one that quickly turns to giggles. "Aren't you her only son?" she asks.

Zed smiles and rolls his eyes. "That's besides the point."

Addison giggles. She leans toward him, pecking his lips on instinct. Zed hums, wrapping a hand around her neck to keep her there for just a moment longer.

It slips both their minds just how sick she is. At least, it does, until her nose twitches, and the next second she's sneezing. Directly in his face.

"Oh my god!"

Zed sits for a moment, his face scrunched up. Slowly, he nods, then says, "Yeah I had that coming."

Addison looks at him in horror, her hands covering her mouth as she realizes what just happened. "I am so sorry."

Zed slides out of bed, carefully making his way around it and toward the bathroom. "It's all good, Addy. I'm just gonna…wash my face really quick."

"Okay," she says meekly. She turns and watches him head into the bathroom. "I'm sorry, baby."

Zed disappears into the bathroom. Addison looks at the closed door for a minute, her guilt over sneezing all over him growing with each passing second. He's seen her at a lot of lows, but sneezing in his face? That's a whole different territory of low! And just plain gross! She grabs a tissue from the nightstand, aggressively blowing her nose, then sadly picks up her soup spoon and shoved another spoonful into her mouth.

After a few minutes, Zed returns to their bedroom, this time wearing a shirt. Now she knew she definitely upset him. He scrubs his face with a washcloth as he walks back over, stopping at her side and dropping a kiss to the top of her head. "See? It's all good, Addy," he assures her.

He walks around the bed, heading back to climb in beside her. "It was gross," she complains.

Zed shrugs. "Zoey once threw up in my lap."

She pulls a face. "Oh, gross."

Zed nods. "She was thirteen, too. Way too old for that shit." Addison giggles. Zed turns to her, grinning. "Now, eat your soup and watch your show. I'm still waiting to hear about that beef."

Okay, maybe he wasn't upset after all. He hits play on the TV, and they watch in comfortable almost-silence, Addison happily slurping the rest of her soup. When she finishes, she sets the tray down on the floor and snuggles into her boyfriend's side.

"I'm really sorry about sneezing on you," she says.

"It's okay, Addison. All it means is we're already in the 'being gross around each other' stage."

"We've already been in that stage. You fart in your sleep.”

Zed looks at her, his mouth hanging open in shock. "There's no way."

Addison giggles. "It happened once, but still!"

"You're so mean. You had me worried!"

Addison shrugs. "It's not like it scared me off!"

Zed laughs. "That's true."

They sit for a moment, watching the movie. Then; "Also, I basically live here! We're way past the gross stage."

"Addy, love, you sneezed on my face."

"I'm never gonna live that one down, am I?"

Zed smiles sweetly. He kisses her nose, quickly backing up, and says, "I'll never mention it again. Mob boss's honor."

Stranger Things is a questionable show, that's the truth of it. I think the first season was brilliant and part of the reason I liked season 4 so much was because it got back that sort of scooby doo vibe that was so fun about the first one, that the Hawkins gang were trying to work everything out and getting into hijinks ahaha. But the whole Russia storyline? Simply could have done without it. There was a post going round a while ago that was like st 1 was good because it was about things but now stranger things is just about stranger things and I think that hit the nail on the head.

I think it benefits from interesting characters and very good casting all round. The young people in the show are (or were now?) uniquely good child actors (Gaten, Caleb and Sadie in particular imo). Also think Joe Keery was an inspired choice for Steve. He brought such brilliant vulnerability to Steve, so great to watch the scene of him seeing Nancy and Jonathan through the window and just before Nancy slaps him how sad he looks when he's trying to put on a tough front; 'I was worried about you.' My god. I DIGRESS.

Eddie <333 EDDIE <3333333 I think I've established I could talk about him for a million years. He haunts me. First just the thought of somebody being treated poorly by God knows how many people, and ending up as someone who collects bullied kids and gives them a safe place 'we showed you that high school didn't have to be the worst years of your lives' JESUS FUCK IF ONLY. Would have been nice. Idk if I've mentioned but I'm PRETTY SHY irl so...yeah. Would have been nice.

And THEN I think about the fact he used his last words to make Dustin promise to look after the group...to tell him that he loves him!!! Can't think about it too much but my God. That's so important. That's his priority in that moment. His little group having somebody to look after them fuck I'm crying.

AND that he tells Dustin to never change!!!! This little bullied boy!!! Like Eddie himself was when he was young!!!! AaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhHhhhhhHHhhhhHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

And also he's so sweet to Chrissy. Just like the sweetest. Sees this girl silently screaming for help and puts the effort into making her feel SAFE!!! Giving her a little GIGGLE at HIS EXPENSE. FUCK.

So yes I think you are exactly right. I think he plays up to what people think of him when he knows he's not going to be able to change their mind and he thinks well fuck it hate me more then. I think he could swing a punch if he had to and if he was being hit he'd keep being provocative but I feel it in my BONES that he flirts with straight boys who are bullying him to make them wildly fucking uncomfortable I JUST KNOW IT cause I think he loves pushing buttons.

But yes, the sweetest around people who need it. And desperate to be loved and accepted. I think you're right I think he might have a go at one night stands cause he's a horndog it can't be denied but he thinks about somebody just adoring him and wanting him all the time and doing things for eachother and them not being ashamed of him or wanting him to change him and man...I must stop.

BIG FIRST!! First Impression: (me at around tween years) Why do you exist??? What is the point of your character?? are you some kinda bad joke?

Impression now: I LOVE THIS GENTLE FISHERMAN BOY UNDERRATED AND ADORABLE. FRIEND-SHAPED. ONE OF THE TOP FAVOURITES //BABBLES OF LOVE

Favourite moment: Honestly I just tend to love the little moments where he's just vibing and being adorable. Although I do love the occasional moments of him just showing how powerful he really can be if he wanted to. Like when he stopped uh... Silver Sonic? One of those metal sonics with his bare hands!

Idea for a story: Well, he is included in a few of my AU's but there is ONE story for him alone that I'm trying to work on... trying. Basically combines him and Werehog lmao Mostly exploring how he'd handle a similar condition and exploring his perspective and his own mindset.

Unpopular Opinion: I don't think Big is as dumb as he lets on! Sure that might seem a bit silly, but honestly, I don't believe hes' totally dumb, sure he doesn't seem too bright, and his carefree and relaxed attitude adds to it. But I like to think he just... thinks about things in a different manner.

Favourite Relationship: Im' assuming this means canon relationships cause i dont' wanna go down the ship lane for this but I honestly love seeing his relationship with Amy and Cream. He's like a Big Brother figure to them and it's ADORABLE!!

Favourite Headcanon: That he's neuro-divergent and on the autism spectrum. <3 And fish are his special interest that he can ramble on to a shocking degree. Struggles to talk a lot in conversation but if you talk to him or ask him a fish-related question. Que in really thorough rambling.

NOW STORM (i don't really keep up with the idw comics but LOOK AT THAT FACE) First impression: Um... just a big dumb guy... i guess. Okay... not much I can think to do with you so just //shoves into corner

Impression now: Underrated and has so much potential. HE'S A HIMBO AND H'ES TRYING HIS BEST. love to play around with him in my AU's and making him more interesting.

Favourite moment: I love his silly clumys little moments like BARGING into Jet's office or pulling the silliest goofiest faces in the comics from what I've seen. He just makes me giggle. One moment that's always made me laugh was the face he made when he was about to punch that Elder Zeti thgthgfh

Story idea: Tbh i've actually love to explore how he would be y'know. On his own. I know the closest I've gotten to a story idea was a backstory for him. I imagine he's older than Jet and Wave and serves as a big brother figure to them (Even if it doesn't seem like it) but it just makes me wonder... what if they were in a scenario where he was older and had to take care of them while they were still young and had to do what he could to get by and support them.

Unpopular opinion: Similarly to Big. I believe there's more to him than being a dumb musclehead. I like to believe he has more than he lets on (intentionally or not). And I actually think that out of all of the Rogues, he'd be the first to give up the thieving lifestyle if given the option.

Favourite Relationship: Honestly since we see him mostly only interact with the other Rogues I get interested seeing how he interacts with anyone outside of the Rogues. I know his interactions with Amy in one of the Riders game was interesting but I don't remember a lot of it.

Favourite Headcanon: That he's actually really into food and out of all the Rogues is the best at cooking and his one of his hidden talents although he doens' think he's THAT great. The kitchen is his safe space and he refuses to let Wave and Jet cause chaos in there. "YOU GO TO YOUR OFFICE AND YOU GO TO YOUR WORKSHOP THIS IS MY SPACE!"

Bonus favourite headcanon is that Storm is the older cousin of Wave and Jet, or are siblings (half, step or adopted idk you get the idea)

There was a period of years when I was a child in which that 'Never laugh when the hearse goes by' song was stuck in my head. I could. Not. Evict. It. I don't know why it was; to my knowledge it wasn't tied to anything traumatic, but it's like I just kept ruminating on it against my will. I hate that song and was basically torturing myself with it and had no idea how to stop. I didn't have any compulsions tied to it either tho. But then one day i realized I hadn't thought about it in months. I'm an adult now and still have no idea what the fuck.

Paranormal Activity 1-3 Thoughts

So as the crisp breeze of Autumn has started whistling I'm feeling fittingly yearning for feeling absolute fear. Less fittingly I felt oddly wanting to rewatch the Paranormal Activity films. Despite being, silly and goofy films, they hold a good deal of nostalgia. 1-3 anyway.

Paranormal Activity

For what it's worth it's kind of a classic. It's simple, but effective. Just two people dealing with a ghostie, one is a bit more familiar with the phenomenon and the other is hyperfixated to the point of making it worse. It makes good use of building tension. I don't know what it is but the sound effect used for the night segments has its clutches permenantly engraved into the part of my brain that produces fear. While the protag Micah is, a dick, and sarcastic, and annoying, and makes everything worse in a film such as this it's nice to have the comedy leverage whilst also just, making use of the active protag archetype, making shit worse for themself. Without the context of the...'Lore'...You could believe Micah caused his own demise and that's oddly tragic. Were this the only film of this franchise, it'd be certifiably a classic. I do think what the series became, post this trilogy really fucks that up but as is it's tense, it doesn't rely on jumpscares and I remember it being marketed as legitimate found footage which, for little 7 year pld me (probably 8, I didn't see it in cinema) made it all the more spooky. Also just as a final note I have the weirdest mandella effect of, the final jumpscare being, an actual jumpscare. Loud, Katie's face turns demonic and shit...They really just ended it with her bumping her forehead into the camera and, honestly it's hilarious.

Paranormal Activity 2

The second film was, interesting for a remember firmly that, growing up it was my favourite. I now have obtained consciousness and am no longer a child so I do, not hold that same opinion now. This one was just boring. For one, as someone who enjoyed having the active protagonist and inherent interest in the phenomenon to go along with and analuse it, the lack of that, with most footage just being from security cams in the house really made the action feel, inconsequential and distant. It attempted to make Abi more of who we followed in the second half but, by the time they did that the climax was essentially already rushed into. The only emotional attatchment I felt for any character was, the dog. Which is cheating because...It's a dog of course I'm gonna love a good boy. It was nice seeing Micah again for a scene but overall, there's just not much of note for this one, I suppose the main point of interest was the ending which, was more so impactful because it succeeded the first film.

Paranormal Activity 3

I do find it funny that the trilogy really just goes back in time, every film, which, this film's of course the end of but, as two was my favourite growing up, but now is my least favourite, 3 was my least favourite growing up but now, legitimately is probably the best one to me. It is perhaps the silliest and goofiest of the trilogy I'll admite but given how, the novelty of the original idea had somewhat worn off, leaning into it just, as a story was a decent shot. For one, Dennis is unironically the goat. As far as protagonists go him and Julie have what feels like, actual chemistry and Dennis is, a sarcastic dick, but not like Micah, he doesn't just fuck around and find out, he simply tries to document, and because of the 'lore' finds out...AKA Getting snapped like a Slim Jim. I will admit this one seemed the least scary of any three, but I didn't mind it. This is when the ghost...Now known as...Toby...Tobey? Either way, is the most active and at the very least, we get the motive somewhat through the kids. As an observer its pretty tragic to see two innocent kids get groomed by a ghost and their nightly schenanigans led o some decently creepy moments based off, small child behaviour alone. I wouldn't have minded a few more sequences akin to the first film. It felt like most of the scares were, loud bangs, in some cases literal earthquakes, and it really only made sense to me for, the big kitchen drop I'll call it, to be a reason for that. While it was middling in scares and tension of the first, as a film, it felt the most well rounded and I know this is a weird thing to like but, it's nice to see a rendition of the 80's in media that isn't just hyper-romanticised, and since they got into cult territory, it was the perfect era for it to be.

Book review: Romcom

Today I'll be talking about one of my absolute favorite books:

A Marriage of Anything but Convenience by Victorine E. Lieske

Now, I read this one a few months ago, but I love it so much I just had to review, and recommend it!

I don't even know where to start with this one.

A Marriage of Anything but Convenience was the first romcom I read. Before this one, I had it in my silly head that all romance books were smut. Why did I think that? I have no idea, but I did.

I started reading A Marriage of Anything but Convenience after reading a very dark and disturbing book. I may review it later so you know what you're getting yourself into. After reading said dark and disturbing book I was kinda spooked. I was also house sitting at the time, which doesn't help anything. Neither does my true crime fascination. Since I was spooked, and sleeping in a strange house, I decided I needed something to distract me. So I went to find the silliest, goofiest sounding book I had on my kindle.

And this is what I decided on. And I'm so glad it was!

Here's what the back cover says:

It was a simple marriage of convenience. Just two years. What could possibly go wrong?

Nara couldn't believe it when her father came up with the crazy idea that she needed to marry Mr. Stuffy himself. Derek Marshall. Sure, he was stinkin' gorgeous and made her insides quiver. But marry him? She was on her way to getting her dream job as a fashion designer. Well, on her way if you counted getting coffee for someone who had her dream job.

Derek has been in love with Nara all his life. But how can he possibly get her to see it? He's not cool like the men Nara usually dates. He gets tongue-tied around her. But now they're married and all he can think about is the clock ticking down until the divorce date.

Can he show her how much he really cares?

Now for the actual review!

First of all, I need to say I love the characters! Nara and Derek are both adorable. They are so very different and it was just so cute! Nara is fun loving, and a little silly. Derek is "Mr. Stuffy". What I pictured was back always straight and a serious look forever on his face.

But that all changed with Nara. Nara was determined to make him loosen up during their two year arrangement, and that whole situation was hilarious! There were a few times where he agreed to do things with her, because he knew it would make her happy, even though it was NOT something he was comfortable doing.

I laughed the entire way through this book until I cried! It was so cute I was squealing! I cannot express how much I love this book!

Another thing, that some might not care about is references. I LOVE references to other books, movies, shows, really anything that I have seen, read, or listened to. This one's got two!

First is Magnum P.I., which I enjoy watching. Only the original with Tom Selleck though!

The other one I feel like needs a bit of back story.

Like I said, I went into this book thinking there were probably going to be nasties, and I wasn't sure until I saw this reference. It was fricken VEGGIE TALES!! I was so excited when I saw that! I grew up watching Veggie Tales, but once again, only the old ones, and as soon as I saw the reference, I screeched "IT CAN'T BE GROSS NOW! NOT WITH VEGGIE TALES!" And I was right!

Later I did see a review saying it was boring because of the lack of smut, but seriously, I don't think it's EVER necessary.

And last, but certainly not least, triggers.

There is absolutely NOTHING in this book, that I found, that could be a trigger. Like I said, no sex. There wasn't even swearing. It was beautifully squeaky clean! My favorite kind of book!

Also, I did get this book for free on Amazon, but it wasn't an ARC. I'm not sure if it's still free or not, but it's definitely worth the look! I did end up buying the paperback after reading it. So I could display it and lend it to friends!
