Disclaimer first: I looked at this tweet when I saw anon's ask super early this morning. The original tweet that started this thread has now been deleted but it was a tweet containing this image from Matta of Fact's instagram stories:

Yellow works close to the hospital in Matta's story (the MD Anderson Center in Houston, Texas), which is probably the best hospital for cancer treatment and research in the world and treats people from all over the world. She thinks it's unlikely that Kate is in Texas getting treatment because she's been spotted in the UK but if she is getting treatment from the US, then strict medical privacy laws prohibit medical staff from talking about her (HIPAA) but it's curious no one else (ie other patients and hotel guests - the St. Regis mentioned in the reddit screenshot is a luxury hotel chain) have seen her.

Red is talking about how Kate and the BRF don't have the same expectation of personal privacy or a social contract here in the US that they would in the UK. In other words, UK media largely doesn't run pap/bystander photos of the royal family when they're not working. That's not true here in the US. Not only would American media print those photos, most Americans wouldn't have any problem taking those photos of Kate in the first place, especially if they can make a quick buck or get social media clout.

Blue is worried about Kate and thinks this means the worst because she's trying to read between the lines. Yellow is trying to talk her out of panic.

I don't think this is true, for a number of reasons.

First, I don't trust Matta as a source. Never have, never will. She started out incredibly biased in favor of the Sussexes and while it looks like she's moved her coverage to become more neutral, I still can't shake her start as a Sussex Squaddie. As Maya Angelou said "when someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them."

Second, if it comes out that Kate, the Princess of Wales and the future Queen has abandoned the NHS or British care, she - and the BRF - can kiss the NHS charities, patronages, and support goodbye. Yes, the NHS is currently suffering and there's a whole bunch of controversy, but the royal family has stood by the NHS since the beginning. If it got out that they don't personally support the NHS...well, there's no putting that toothpaste back in the tube.

Third, yes, MD Anderson is considered one of the best, if not the best institution for cancer treatment and research in the world. They're part of the cancer moonshot initiative. People come from all over the world to use their facilities. And they send their people out to consult and teach all over the world as well. Kate, and the BRF, isn't risking her NHS support to fly halfway around the world. Especially if she's immuno-compromised, especially if she doesn't feel she is well enough or healthy-looking-enough for public engagements. Those doctors are coming to her.

Relatedly, Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace have been used as operating theaters and medical treatment spaces before. There's no need for Kate to go halfway around the world to a hospital when literally the hospital can come to her at Windsor Castle.

Now, is it possible she could've gone to Texas anyway? Yes, very much so. But my theory is, if she went in the first place, she went only once, to learn about her cancer and what her treatment options were, and then she went back to the UK. Why do I say this?

Because simply put: she has three school-aged children and kids talk. If Kate was spending all this time in the US, those kids would've said something to someone in that school community and it would've gotten out. After all, if someone's leaking Charlotte's cricket team schedule to social media, someone's going to leak any gossip they've heard about or from the children.

At the end of the day, you can believe whatever you see and however you interpret this. For me, I choose to believe the palace at their word over nameless internet strangers and a gossipmongerer. Maybe that makes me naive but it is what it is. The palace, and William, have said that Kate is doing well and is focused on her recovery and her family. We have no reason to believe that she's anywhere except where they've said she is: with her family in Windsor. We have no reason to believe her health isn't improving and that she isn't recovering because it would have been all over William's face the last few days (the man does not have a poker face at all) and it simply wasn't there.

I know people miss Kate. I know they'd like reassurance from her personally but that's not Kate's priority right now. Her priority is reassuring her children and being with them, as it should be. Let's give her the time, space, and privacy to do what she knows is right for her, and her family, and who knows. Maybe she'll surprise us in the coming weeks.

WIBTA for locking my bedroom door at my mother's house?

I (18 M) still live with my mom (45 F), and probably will be for a while as I try to finish up my last month and a half of high school and settle into college. At our house, my mom has a habit of just walking into my room unannounced. She also encourages me to not shut it at all because "we're the only ones in the house there's no need for that".

I'm the kind of person who likes having privacy- especially when it comes to her. While she isn't super strict anymore about what I spend my time doing now that I'm an adult, she can be (unintentionally) judgmental. Sometimes she'll walk in and look at what I'm watching and give me this amused look like she finds it funny that I would be watching that. I wouldn't say it's mean, but it is embarrassing and makes me feel bad about my own interests sometimes. And every time I've brought it up she just brushes it off. It's gotten to the point where I have an extra tab as backup or click to my home screen on my computer as soon as I hear her walking towards my room so I don't have to deal with that.

On top of that, I take daily naps. I have chronic fatigue because I have a condition that causes my knees to not bend correctly, which causes a lot of pain, and by extent makes me tired very quickly. It can be fixed over time through physical therapy, but I haven't gotten very far with that both because my fatigue makes it harder for me to exercise and because I have terrible memory and sometimes just forget to do my daily exercises. The pain is slowly getting better though, although the fatigue hasn't and I'm not sure why, as I can't think of any other underlying cause to it (I've already done a sleep study, the results came back normal, so I know I don't also have a sleep disorder).

So while I have this problem, which I have for several years now, I have to take naps to make it through the day. If I don't, even on days I'm not very physically active like weekends, I end up either collapsing and falling asleep that way, or I spend all day too focused on how tired I am to do anything else.

The problem is, when I take these naps at home in my room, and my mom comes in, she makes me get up. She says the naps will ruin my sleep schedule (they don't, no amount of napping has made me have a harder time sleeping at night. Because even if I nap, I'm tired again in an hour or two minimum). She suggests I just get up and exercise- which doesn't help, it just makes my knees hurt more which makes me even more exhausted for the entire rest of the day. I've tried to explain these things to her multiple times but she just won't listen. It's like she thinks that because I've started to do physical therapy that means my knees are perfectly fine now, the pain is gone, and so is my fatigue, even though I've explained the physical therapy hasn't really improved my fatigue levels yet.

So I've thought about just locking her out of my room at the very least when the fatigue starts hitting hard enough I know I'm about to need a nap. I'm tired of her coming in my room whenever she wants as if I'm still a child and not really letting me have much privacy, but I'm especially tired of her not letting me nap when I need it. But considering how against me even closing the door during the day she is, I'm worried it'll just upset her. And she is the one paying the bills- I'm a full time student with no job so far. By all means it's her house more than it is mine.

Taylor rainy day hcs

Taylor loves being in the rain, but I imagine his mom would ask him to take an umbrella, at least sometimes? Or Cass may sneak it into his go-bag other times, so he doesn't forget it.

Most often the umbrella is not used properly.

He's used it as a stealth item to hide from and avoid classmates and teachers that he doesn't like around town. Its a go to way to avoid awkward or annoying conversations. Taylor also enjoys striking poses with it on occasion, works great as a second sword of sorts. He can try super cool dual wielding poses or use the sturdy umbrella as a makeshift cane on the rare occasions he forgets his own at home.

When the rain gets extremely heavy and/or his legs are feeling extra achy that day. Taylor will sit down some place and rest the umbrella against something so he can sit under it. Probably play on his phone for awhile while listening to the rain drops. Probably gets an Uber back home when the rain stops! It depend on how long the rain lasts or how hard he zoned into his mobile games.

Or on the rare occurrence he isn't alone, he'll offer the umbrella to the other classmate (if they don't have one). Its mostly only happened during field trips or at the end of a school day. After the offer, they'll go their separate ways. Sometimes the person will return the umbrella while occasionally it'll need to be replaced. He's got money though and he wasn't really using it much anyway so that part doesn't phase him. To add to that, his mom is usually really happy when he says he offered an umbrella to someone, especially someone that happens to be a girl. She's been giving him the signature Swift fam "you've got this" thumbs up a lot more lately. If he's honest, sometimes the idea of romance is...a lot when it's not a strict 2d interaction. He stops offering the umbrella to people for a few months.

Things are different when his new sidekicks come into the picture. Firstly, when it rains, Normal offers him an umbrella at the same time as Taylor was offering it to him. They ended up accidentally hitting each other haha. Though Taylor's hand stung more than Normal's did given he was not wearing a mascot costume. The two get past some awkward apologies and talk about either music or school gossip.

With Scary, she skeptically accepted the umbrella but asked why he didn't use it for himself. No one's asked him before and Taylor passionately rambles about his love for rain and rainy day scenes in stories as they walk through town. Though sometimes Scary does tease that he must not be worried about getting sick from the rain because idiots don't catch colds, right? He takes some psychic damage with an on cue anime sound effect. Teasing aside, Scary is the first to send him a text on an actual sick day--usually a short, "you're alive, right?" type of message which is nice in its own way.

The first time getting caught in the rain with Link doesn't go at all like Taylor was expecting. Link doesn't have an umbrella like Normal did and doesn't ask why like Scary had. Instead, Link arches an eyebrow and looks at the blue with white polka dots umbrella in his friend's outstretched hand for few minutes and then back to Taylor.

He says, "Thanks and okay, we should share it though." Taylor slowly agrees and the two share it while he remains surprised. It was the first time he'd shared an umbrella with someone since his childhood friend moved away. He was so used to walking alone or keeping some distance when with a person that he'd forgotten sharing it was a thing. Link holds the umbrella above them as they leave school. They talk about sports games and anime, joking around and occasionally playfully jabbing each other with fingers or elbows.

When the rain gets harder though, Link bolts forward to find the nearest open shop. This ends up dousing Taylor with water pretty good! He makes some sound that he hopes the natural rain bgm covered up and runs after the athlete. They end up racing each other which was initially frustrating but ends up pretty fun. For some reason, running in the rain alone or with a friend gives this cozy, familiar feeling too just like sitting by a fireplace or campfire does. Maybe it was because he used to play in the rain with his mom a lot as a kid.

Lastly, Taylor walking with Hermie during a rainy day leads to a teaching lesson. They both had umbrellas and, like certain punk seekers of darkness, Hermie asked why Taylor liked the rain so much. Hermie chimes in to Taylor's rambles with his own fav rain-related stuff and mentions a certain musical number. One of the few musicals that Taylor knew that weren't anime related! Anyways, Hermie proudly shows off his performing skill by doing atleast some of Singing in the Rain which Taylor thinks is pretty cool. The two practice some of the steps for awhile until the rain stops.

The Mandates

Just wanted to share my thoughts on the pro-ported mandates because they cast a shadow on this comic.

“Game characters cannot have relatives unless they were estabilished in the game canon, i.e. Cream and her mother.”

This one is understandable and you can blame Penders for this. Mind you that most licensed comics of gaming franchises don’t actually delve too much in personal family relationships or expand on them. So this is expected and honestly Sega should have put the screws on Archie decades ago about this.

“Game characters can not die. There are workarounds for this, such as being Mistaken for Dying or "Mistaken For Dead”

Again. Yes. Not a big deal.

“Game characters cannot have wardrobe changes unless approved. Chao Races and Badnik Bases has some characters (mainly the female game characters) wear different clothes for extreme conditions. Male characters remain the same.”

This is a useless rule but whatever. I mean Sega, you are the ones putting bad wardrobe choices on the characters so again it’s whatever.

“Sonic can't be shown getting too emotional (i.e;cry)”

This is one that it complained about because it really wouldn’t matter unless it is called attention to. A lot of superheroes don’t cry. But that doesn’t prohibit them from expressing themselves. IDW Sonic has been sad. He has been pissed. He has been furious.

Is this not too emotional?

Is he not expressing himself appropriately?

I don’t even know why this is brought up. When in this comic has Sonic not been expressive or displaying the appropriate amount of emotion? When did Sonic needing to cry be necessary?

Oh GOD YES. Don’t threaten me with a good time.

“All major Character Development must be approved by SEGA.”

Yeah, of course. Let me remind you that Penders and Archie ruined any strand of trust Sega could have in comic media. They played loose at first and all of the sudden, they are involved in a lawsuit about characters in a Sonic comic that they didn’t even know about. They probably lost a video game business relationship because of it. If they want to be involved in the comics, fine. That means that they are now forced to World Build. They have to invest in it now and not just be like Lucas Films and let anybody do anything with their flagship title.

“Much like the post-reboot of the Archie comic, the words "Mobius" is banned—the planet is simply called "Sonic's World". Unlike the Post-Boot, which allowed the names "Mobian" and "Mobini", anything related to Mobius is banned in this comic.”

…Of course but how about you throw the writer’s a bone and I don’t know, name the fucking planet. If it is not Earth, give it a name.

“Sonic must always win at the end. Even if he and his friends are at the losing end in an overarching story (the Metal Virus arc, for example), they must come out on top when it concludes.”

I don’t even get this rule and the knee jerk hatred for it. Why even have it? Why even share the existence of this rule? Archie Sonic didn’t really lose too bad. It’s more on how you frame a victory. The fact of the matter is that Eggman is still actively trying to conquer the planet. Sonic stops him but Eggman still has control of land and has military installations all over.

This rule is offset by this. While Sonic can’t lose, Sonic can’t completely win.

“Characters and material from other licensed properties (Sonic the Comic, Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics), Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM)', Sonic Underground, the OVA, Sonic X and the Paramount films cannot be used. This rule extends to characters and redesigns done by the current writers. The only exception is Sticks from Sonic Boom, and that's because she was created by SEGA themselves and showed up in non-Boom media, but any ideas regarding her use still need to be okayed by SEGA.”

First off I am glad that Sticks was spared by this rule and I look forward to her eventual inclusion. Second, again, this is not much of a big deal as it was expected. Sorry Freedom Fighter fans but honestly deal.

“Male characters, sans Eggman, can't wear pants, which was also a thing in the Post-Reboot, albeit never explicitly stated. The inverse is also true; female characters have to have some form of lower clothing.”

Okay this is a pedantic rule. It is so weird with how precise it is. Like…huh?

“Classic characters such as Mighty, Ray, Nack/Fang, Bean, and Bark won't appear in non-Classic issues, as Sega doesn't want Classic and Modern Sonic to mix.”

One of the most bullshit mandates fueled by the nostalgia boner fans created. Like this is stupid because Archie Modern Sonic has added more character and depth to all of these mentioned characters than any of the Sega Sonic games they appeared in which only amounts to 1 or 2 at most. Why neuter your own potential stories with this stupid limitation?

“According to Ian Flynn, a specific incident involving Shadow's characterization when he's exposed to the Zombot infection was written in a specific way because of Sega mandating that he be written as an "overconfident asshole rival" character, similar to Vegeta. He later followed up with an explanation that out of every character, Shadow has the most mandates and notes attached to how he's portrayed. According to the podcast, Sega says that Team Dark is no longer a thing. The three members are not a team and they have never worked for G.U.N.; Shadow also doesn't even consider them friends.”

This is my opinion is the worst rule. First it’s contradictory to the character Sega introduced us to. Stop trying to be like Dragon Ball for once and actually be your own thing. It’s one thing if we are changing it because Shadow was unpopular because of his personality. But no one likes this Shadow. People miss the somber but reserved Hedgehog that continued to fight in spite of the world betraying him. Hothead Shadow is a cheap Knuckles. And I don’t even understand why Shadow even has so many mandates when he wasn’t the most egregious offender. Knuckles was.

Also, Team Dark aren’t a thing and Shadow doesn’t even consider them to be his friends. First off that doesn’t even fly in your own games. Who outside of Sonic does Shadow interact the most? Rouge. They have teamed up and were a packaged duo since their inception. When Shadow appeared, Rouge appeared right next to him. If Rouge was in a game, so was Shadow.

Team Dark or just Rouge has fought alongside Shadow in every game they appeared in. Who else does Shadow talk to if not Rouge?

“Sega has stated to Flynn that only male hedgehogs are allowed to go Super with the Chaos Emeralds.”

Except in Sonic Mania.

“Ian isn't allowed to directly reference a game, since the comic is supposed to be its own thing.”

Okay. Not only is this rule stupid. But it’s untrue.

This referencing Shadow the Hedgehog.

I don’t believe this rule exists and even if it did, it is dumbest rule since the whole point of this comic is to base it off the games more. The dumbest rule.

“Knuckles is not allowed to leave Angel Island unless he has a very good reason to.”

For decades, people have complained that Knuckles routinely leaves the island. For decades. Now does this mean Sega is going to 1. Use Knuckles and 2. Amplify the importance of Angel Island and the Master Emerald? No. Again, this criticism should be levied at Sega because they often conveniently forget Knuckles purpose and just hand wave it instead of giving Knuckles more to do on the island like I don’t know, have other entities invested in attacking him.

In summary, here is what I think is going on. Do I think most of these mandates are real? Yes. Given what happened to Archie, I do think Sega is doing some brand alignment. I think they got the clamps on.

But what I think is going on is a Japanese cultural thing called Power Harassment. It is normalized abuse of power. Sega of Japan is normally laxxed about their brands. They don’t mind blatant rip-offs of their mascot nor do they get stiff about fandom creations or mods. The comic division, however, is getting tough love because not only did it cost them a publishing deal, but ruined a relationship with a high end developer. So the IDW writers and staff are being subjected to intentionally hypocritical rules and strict mandates that they know don’t make sense until they’ve shown to be obedient.

A lot of the mandates aren’t strict. But some are so asinine that I don’t think they aren’t aware with how stupid they sound imposing those rules. Like Shadow is the most narratively complete Sonic character and yet, Sega puts this tight mandate as if Archie Shadow was the most egregious thing. Archie Shadow was overpowered. He wasn’t out of character like Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails were. They can’t be that stupid or be that intentionally dense. So they want to see if the writing crew can follow orders. That’s it.

But that’s just my take.

Finally Nya's season! Our queen, our water goddess, our amazing girl gets what she deserves! 😍😍😍

What I know about the season beforehand is that Nya's powers apparently are getting problematic for some reasons? Which is a pretty common topic in other shows but it's a first in Ninjago, usually the elemental powers don't have focus and I LOVE that we now get to see stuff like that 💕💕💕

I know there should be Wojira involved, trusting The Island to deliver that little foreshadowing at the end of the episode 🤷‍♀️ Also Maya is back... MAYA IS FINALLY BACK AFTER SEVEN SEASONS YES!!! 😭😭😭

I have nothing else to say, I have no idea what this will bring, hopefully something as good as Master of the Mountain! 🖤

GENERAL THOUGHTS

Warning reader, I might be fangirling to an extreme because I love mah girl Nya and I've been wanting Kai and Nya's parents to be back ever since Hands of Time ended. So yeah... screaming alert 😅

1. Minthe is by no means a perfect mother. She's 100% making it up as she goes and trying her best to raise her so she isn't fucked up. She sees Makaria as the best thing she's ever done so, Minthe is pretty lax with the rules with her. However, her dynamic with Makaria is can be strained but also very loving. Minthe still has issues with her anger and though she loves Makaria, love doesn't change mental illness. She tries very hard to reel it in around Makaria, but if she's really upset, she might blow up at Mak, or blow up at Hades in front of Mak (both of which, Minthe hates doing.)

That all said, Minthe is still the favorite parent by a long shot. Hades has more rules and expectations (he's not super strict, but I'd say he's the more responsible/rule oriented parent), but Minthe throws a celebration party when Mak gets a C+ in math. Minthe is her baby's number one supporter, and motherhood turns her very doting (though she still goes partying with Thetis on the days Hades gets custody lol). I think Minthe is definitely attached to Mak because she sees her as a little version of herself, and she wants everything to go right for her, so she's very determined to keep her out of harm's way, so that she doesn't turn out the way Minthe did. So yes, if someone were ever to pick on Mak for her ears/half-nymph status, Minthe might be liable to chew their face off.

2. Minthe and Hades aren't married! They're co-parents. While they have a more stable relationship post-Mak, they didn't officially tie the knot because they still weren't stable. They only became 'official' after Mak was born, and Minthe hates his in-laws too much to tie herself to that family lol. They're defo together around the same as the canon timeline, but the separation is less clean because... well, the baby lol. The planting scene also changes a bit to accomodate Makaria (did you tell her you can't have children => did you tell her about your child) and when Persephone finds out about Makaria is about... right after planting Minthe, because Hades is like ohshitohshitohshitohshit. Persephone mostly feels bad about depriving a child of her mother, and the guilt is more about forcing Minthe to abandon Makaria, than it is about cheating.

3. Mak rarely comes to Olympian parties and she's NEVER allowed to be left with Hera. Hera loathes Minthe as a romantic rival because they have a child, and Mak's birth is part of the reason why Hades refuses to do anything with her. Fooling around in secret just isn't his thing when he has a child back home. Hera def isn't allowed near Mak, but her hatred of Minthe never extends to Makaria herself bc Mak is Hades' miracle baby (Mak was an accident, Hades assumed he was infertile), and any insults to her won't be taken as lightly as they are for Minthe (as fucked up as it may be). Hera had to be forced into blessing Mak by Hades, and she def sees her as beneath other gods because of her half-nymph status and tends to be pretty cold with Mak when she's around her.

A comparative analysis of The Worst Witch episode 1; 1998 vs 2017

(That absolutely no one asked for but you're getting anyways)

I loved the 1998 Worst Witch as a kid and I read all the books and had a whole phase where it was my favourite thing ever so I was curious and decided to watch the new Netflix show. Overall it was pretty good but felt geared towards a younger audience than the 1998 version, or maybe it's just because it doesn't have the same nostalgia for me.

So between the 2 versions, the 2017 one actually gave a lot more detail to Mildred's backstory. It's super clear that she's from a non-witch family and that she's admitted to the academy at the end even though she doesn't have the same background as the other girls. In the 1998 version there isn't any of this. It starts with Mildred walking through the woods on her way to orientation and it's not until later in the episode that it's even mentioned that she's there as a scholarship student from a non- magic family. (I honestly wasn't even aware of that until I rewatched the episode. Or if I knew that I had completely forgotten). One of the things in the 2017 version that made it seem like a 'younger' show is Mildred's mother which I didn't actually love that she was there as a character. Literally at the end she's just totally ok with sending her daughter to live at the academy and learn magic, which she didn't even know about before that day. And when stuff like that happens in shows, like when adults act or do things that are just not how it would go in real life, it makes it seem geared toward a young audience in a way that I'm not a fan of. I don't know if that makes any sense.

Mildred and Maud both seem really sweet in the 2017 show and I liked them. They seemed much more independent and older in the 1998 show (they probably were older actually which is why the 2017 show has a younger feel overall) so it's kind of hard to compare them. In the 1998, they show how all the first years have kind of become friends immediately, like when they sneak out to help Mildred practice her flying before the test, where as in the 2017 we don't meet any other students other than Mildred, Maud, and Ethel. Enid was always my favourite in the 1998 but she doesn't come in until a bit later in the show so I don't know about the 2017 version of her.

I am not a huge fan of 2017 Ethel. In the 1998, it was clear she was the mean rich girl character type, and in the 2017 she seemed young enough that her attitude is something she'll just grow out of eventually. She seemed too much like like she was trying to be the best to impress everyone, as a motivation for being mean, as opposed to just being Like That. And it was really obvious that they were trying to push a comparison of Ethel to her sister which I didn't like. When Ethel goes up to meet Miss Cackle and HB, Miss Cackle just talks to Ethel about how great her sister is and like. That's not something Miss Cackle would do. During the written test, Miss Cackle is so helpful to Mildred by telling her to do what she does best and to focus on that to help her along, which is what she should be like. There is no way Miss Cackle wouldn't act the same way towards Ethel and I didn't like that she was so out-of character for that conversation that it seemed forced.

Another thing I want to mention is the teachers. I was actually impressed by the teachers in the 2017 one with how much they resemble the 1998 teachers. You can tell that they wanted to stay true to the original in that way. Miss Hardbroom seemed slightly less strict in the 2017, but I think part of that is because she wears a lot more makeup than in the 1998 so she just has a different look slightly, but she was still portrayed really well I think. I know it was central to the plot in episode 1, but I wish they hadn't brought in Agatha right away. Honestly, 2017 Miss Cackle and Agatha give off BIG Mr. Benedict/ Curtain vibes. That's all I'm going to say about that. Miss Drill didn't have a huge role in this episode, but I loved how in the 1998 she was a stereotypical hard-core gym teacher. Like, she had a similar aesthetic to Sue Sylvester in that she's always wearing gym clothes, if that makes any sense. And it was funny how she always just randomly had some piece of gym equipment. In the teachers lounge in episode 1, they're all talking and she's just standing there lifting weights and then later on she's holding a badminton racket for no apparent reason lol. Anyways... my point is that I sincerely hope they didn't change this aspect of Miss Drill in the 2017 show but I have no idea since I have only seen the one episode.

Between the two versions, you can tell that the 2017 show took inspiration from the 1998 in small things that I thought was cool. In the 2017, the spell Mildred does is levitation and in the 1998 they're shown in the classroom practicing a levitation spell on Mildred. And then there's that frog in the pond that most likely came from the episode in the 1998 where Mildred is transformed into a frog and befriends another frog who she still talks to after she's human again. So I thought that was cool.

In terms of aesthetic, the 1998 show gets a 10/10 and the 2017 show gets a 6.5/10. The original show is set in a secluded old castle, filled with old castle things and it looks very traditional in a way you would expect a witch's castle to look like, using only candles for light etc... The 2017 academy isn't secluded which I don't like. Mildred can literally see the castle from her apartment window, but I do appreciate how they added in the bit about invisibility to explain why no one can see the witches flying. (I'm wondering though if Mildred can see the witches why she never saw them before that one day. Maybe that's explained later though idk). And the castle is much brighter with more colour and seems more modern. I think this was done to make it seem more whimsical and child-like, but the thing is that I much preferred the Old Castle vibes to the Refurbished Old Castle vibes. A lot of the girls in the 2017 were wearing bright modern clothes which is fine, but I really thought it took away from the 'witch' aesthetic that the 1998 show had. I'm aware though that they get uniforms that look almost the same as in the 1998 version so that might help with the witch aesthetic a bit.

Also, the 2017 intro title sequence definitely isn't as good as the 1998 intro. The background music in the 1998 is so nostalgic for me and I love it, so it's not even comparable to the 2017. That's all I have to say about that.

I also found out that there was a sequel to the 1998 show called Weirdsister College that came out in 2001 and was 13 episodes. It follows Mildred after she leaves Cackle's with a new group of students. And? Ethel kind of goes goth? Canonically? The first episode actually gives more details to the world the show takes place in which was interesting. Cackle's Academy is in a really secluded area so there's no problem with them flying on broomsticks and doing magic and all that but Weirdsister College is in the middle of the city so it's a bigger issue for them to have to hide everything from non-magic people.

At the moment, I'm probably not going to keep going with the show because I feel like I have too many shows already going on. But I'll probably watch a few more so I can see Enid, since she was my favourite. I might come back to it later once I've finished watching some of the other shows.

Personal recap Worlds 2021 - Ladies SP

Yes I am back with personal recaps 😁 and as in personal it's totally my opinion and you can agree or not. Tell me what you think if you want.

First I needed to calm down because this was a nerve wrecking ladies short program and I thought I wouldn't care that much for the scoring (knowing it would be sh*t anyway) but yes I was mad. But I think I am calm enough now to put normal sentences out.

Rika Kihira was robbed. Period.

Her mysterious "q" calls were just bullsh*t and watching the replay multiple times I would say ok for the 3T being a bit short on rotation but the 3A I just don't see it. (and German ESP commentators had the same opinion) The program is fire 🔥 🔥 🔥 Rika performed so well. And this deserved just sooooo much better. Sorry bby that you don't get the benefits like some others. ❤️

Anna is my lovely fairy. ❤️❤️❤️ I do like her skating a lot. Her jumps not that much, but I can live with that (I am not a technical nerd). Her musicality is otherwordly. I don't see her being that much better than Rika though. Didn't see such a clean and secure combination from her in ages. She really is mentally very strong. In practice she was in tears a lot, in competition you could see no insecurity.

I am happy for Liza! Her story is really impressive. She is not a skater I root for because I like her skating so much, but because I think her fighting spirit and her guts are amazing and big role model for other skaters in Russia and in general struggling with puberty. You can make it again after 6 years, you have to fight. The 3A was one of the best for her. Her jumps are superb and I am glad that she at least did get a higher TES than Anna, but her PCS are really questionable. But well looking at Sasha's PCS, Liza's doesn't seem so astronomical anymore. Still ridiculous...but at least Liza was flawless. I am not a fan of her new program, I liked "Spartacus" better but it seem to serve her well. So.

Kaori my love 😍 The layout just didn't play out well for her. The combo being shaky costed dearly. But also the 3Lz edge call dropped her score badly. I don't actually have a problem with her score, but just looking that she is the only skater in the Top 10 field to receive a real edge call, while Bradie and Anna get away without any "edge" problem is just unfair. If you score favorably than do the same with everyone. Kaori's speed is unparalleled. Her program grew so much during the season, a very difficult program to make it work but I like it. Anyway Kaori was good and chances for the podium are super slim anyway.

Sasha Trusova - her trainings looked super secure (5 quad clean free) but when it counts she hardly delivers. 34 PCS were super generous for her program. Compare that to Kaori and Karen and so many others and it's just undeserved. 12th place hurts though. I predicted her to not be Top 3 after the SP but 12th place was hardly in my guessing. If she can skate a somewhat clean free skate, she still has a little chance on winning. That would ofc depend on other skaters and favorable PCS but it's not impossible. I hope she can leave the competition with a good feeling. 12th place is not what she is capable of.

Yelim Kim - what an excellent combination. 👌She had plenty of time at landings. The program is a bit bland and risk free. The dress game is A+++! ❤️ I have a soft spot for Yelim since juniors, the fairytale like appearance and movement makes her a sentimental favorite of mine. I was gladly surprised by her score. One of the only scores I could agree on.

Karen Chen - Karen skated beautifully. I am not super flashed by her program but I am happy she delivered so well. And superb 3Lo! 👌 I think if Rika received a "q" on her combo Karen should have gotten the same, but she is American so nope...

Bradie Tennell - anyone knowing my recaps, knows I am hardly a Bradie fan but her programs are interesting and I like this short a lot. But today she just didn't deliver. Her score should not have come this close to Kaori.

Haein Lee - same as for Rika. If a "q" is applied to Haein and Rika than why not Karen? Hello? Haein is really lovely to watch and musical. She has all the right abilities to place high in the future. Wonderful. 😍 I was a bit surprised to hear Helene Fischer's "Ave Maria" (Helene is on of the biggest stage names in Germany) There are so many Ave Maria's and they chose a German singer? 😂

Absolutely heartbroken for Satoko. 😭💔 Her program should receive the highest PCS but she didn't even get as much as Trusova. What a big joke that is. She is such a beautiful skater. What a beautiful dress too. Just nothing worked for her today. What a tragedy. 💔💔💔

The other heartbreak was Maé Méité. 💔💔💔What a sad story that is. Finally she was able to practice without pain and now probably achilles tendon. She could barely walk. I am so devastated for her. Wishing all the best to her. May she return soon.

Alexia Paganini was also really off. Sadly she didn't make the cut. 😢

Lastly I want to add a few pleasant surprises:

Loena Hendricks - Shame about the fall, but everything else was excellent. Glad she got a good scores. So glad she is back!

Josefin Taljegard - She is on 🔥. Surely her technical content isn't as good as that of other skaters but her emotional connection and performance to the music are extraordinary! ❤️ Watch Josefin, you won't regret it!

Madeline Schizas - pleasantly surprised by Madeline. Delivered greatly. I wish for her to maintain that 2nd spot.

Lindsay Van Zundert - Skating first you are usually out of the free skate, but she made the cut with a lovely "Allegria" performance. 😊

Good luck everyone for the free skate! May the judges get the memo that we want fair scoring!

Any complaints about judging I do are always against the judges not the skaters themselves. I hate how unevenly applied the rules are and that judges are playing favorites so hard it's apparent. It's so unfair. Be strict or lenient on every skater from 1st to last the same way. Scores are so whack they only make me mad.

This was a wall of text, sorry. 😅 If you see me not talking about COVID-19, it's not because I don't care but because that's not my main object here and I absolutely won't watch out for behavior that violates any rules. I think everyone is doing everything with the best intentions. I don't wish ill upon anyone. Covid plays a big part here as well, but I like to concentrate on the positive aspects of Worlds and the skating in general instead of being mad about things that are hardly in my power. I'd rather look at what I can do myself and how I can help my locals. I am also tired about my whole day normally being all about covid that I just don't have the energy to talk about it any further.

Y/n isn't suppose to hate her seokmin oppa for asking an innocent question but she really doesn't want to rethink it right now, right after the embarrassment that just happened.

you see y/n was minding her own business as usual, it was practice break as she stood up and went to one of the speaker where her phone was placed, she did stuff normally like a normal person would but just as she was about to come back to where she was sitting before, she was approached

and it wasn't anything special, just one of her sunbae's of course, what's so wrong about that to the point you'll throw your phone to the ground for no apparent reason?

well it was Jeon wonwoo

it wasn't a surprise to say y/n admired her friend and how much of a good sunbae he is to her, but it was terrifying everytime she heard her heart beat so fast... because it wasn't normal, her heart shouldn't feel like this for someone like one of her sunbae's.

but it was too late to shut her heart up.

because just as she looks up to her sunbae, the bright smile and the messy hair matching with the bright eyes that looks back at her, she realized something and damn how much she hated that her heart did a flip and it felt normal to her now.

and just from everything, without even a word, she throws her phone to the ground.

matching with the gasp as she looks at what she had done with the device that was now smashed on the ground, probably broken from the way y/n threw it, and y/n made the stupidest decision and looked back up at the reason why that just happened.

and she saw him.

but he was shining, from the room's light he looked flawless and y/n realized

"Y/n your phone!" Wonwoo looked at the broken phone on the ground with a shocked expression, the members close to them looking over at the scene.

"what happened?" seungcheol made his way looking at the two before looking at the ground and seeing the phone "why is your phone on the ground, y/n?"

She's in love with her sunbae, not just any human but the one that basically raised her.

"did y/n's brain came along with the phone? because both look broken" and at this point y/n would've cursed and chased  seungkwan already but her heart held her body, controlling her feet from moving.

after the phone accident, y/n almost couldn't take it everytime she was with the older, but that seemed really impossible.

and she thinks she really lost it when it was Wonwoo who bought her a new screen saver with a 'super strong, no drop could break it' phone case, and the phone case was matching with the older's too and it just absolutely made y/n crazy.

but what y/n shouldn't have done is trying cook while Wonwoo was there, because mixing stupidity, being unlucky and cooking together doesn't really match well, so when y/n cracked one damn egg into the pan and a newly woken up Wonwoo ,with messy hair and puffy cheeks, walked into the kitchen, y/n knew she was about to do something she's gonna regret.

at first it looked all fine, like she was left alone by the charm of stupidity for awhile, but when her naturally affectionate Sunbaemin came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, y/n's brain went hostile.

She felt like she was the one being fried and not the egg on the pan, it also didn't help that y/n was just wearing shorts so she absolutely felt wonwoo's pajama rubbing on her legs and just the warmth of the older wrapping around her.

and as much as she loves it and is almost used to it, her brain still failed to associate it as platonic, and made y/n's body just completely panic, so when y/n muttered to the older about the food being ready and the older finally lets go of her, she quickly grabbed plates.

and plates mixing in with y/n wasn't really a perfect fit, hell anything breakable isn't a perfect fit for panicked y/n so as expected, her brain mulfuctioned as the older sat on one of the stools, taking sight of her again, y/n dropped one of the plates, making her and the older jump at the sound.

"whoa y/n are you okay?" Y/n didn't notice her shaking hands and why it was shaking was also unknown as the older stands up to grab a broom to clean it off.

Y/n felt herself grow embarrassed, her face felt a lot hotter and she felt her hands trembling and she just wants to jump out of her skin at that moment.

Y/n also didn't realize that she was just about to step on the broken pieces of the plates until a hand on her wrist snapped her out of her trance again, a worried Wonwoo held onto her wrist as y/n looks at him.

"Y/n you'll hurt yourself, just go and sit on the counter and i'll clean this up" and y/n was about to protest, wanting to be the one cleaning up the mess that she made, but the other knew her way too well that he immediately gave her a strict look making the younger sit down on the counter top watching the older clean up the broken plate.

"you shouldn't be cooking and stuff when you're still half awake, you could seriously get hurt if you're not careful" and y/n wanted to cry in frustration because the other latter doesn't know what he's doing to her.

"but really i was fine, just lost balance a bit–"

"no buts, you can seriously get hurt if you do it like that again, good thing your trusty sunbae is here, huh?" the older held a smile to reassure y/n that it was okay.

but again y/n wanted to cry.

the older had no idea, and y/n was just helplessly falling deeper for him.

[ 3 r d w a y ]:

"i noticed that a plate is missing–"

Y/n spitted out the coffee she was drinking as hansol patted her back as she coughs.

"first of all yuck,y/n what the hell, and two the plate that was missing is jeonghan hyung's favorite so he kinda freaked out"

seokmin rests his hand on the table and told y/n about how jeonghan was trying to find the missing plate and how many times he had interrogated some of the members about the plate y/n broke because of her stupid feelings.

"he asked me right as i came out of the bathroom and i accidentally threw my toothbrush at him" and that made hansol laugh to the point that he was punching

y/n's arm over and over.

"does he really love that plate?" Y/n sips her coffee that was surely too sweet as  she tries to cover up her light nervousness from the topic.

"it was bought by seungcheol hyung, it had a swan on it and hyung absolutely was so smitten over the fact that cheol hyung said that he reminded him of a swan because of hyung's beauty" hansol explained and y/n took more sips as to prove that she was innocent.

"but cheol hyung already calmed him down about it and told him he would buy a new set of it and hyung seems satisfied with that" and with seokmin's shrug y/n's heart felt more relaxed again.

Y/n reached over again for her coffee to take a sip and realized it was empty, "that was my coffee, y/n." and with that y/n smiled awkwardly, standing up to get a cup of it again to give back to hansol.

and glad to say that she successfully got there without anything breaking or something weird happening and she filled the cup with coffee again, ready to get back to the table.

"Y/n i was just trying to find you–" Jeon freaking Wonwoo, oh god no

and just with a gasp y/n tilted the cup to the point that it spilled all over wonwoo's pants and white shoes and was she so happy for doing that (mark the sarcasm).

"–for another practice" the older looked down onto his shoes, the once clean shoes were now stained with coffee and the black joggers was also wet with the drink.

"i am so sorry! oh god" y/n didn't know why she was bowing or why she felt more nervous than any of the time she messed with her other sunbae's.

Wonwoo's face looked shocked and a little bit confused, to which y/n got alarmingly scared of because of how calm he was.

"i'll wash it when we get to the dorm, i'm so sorry!" and y/n was almost crying,she didn't know why but she was close to tears. how many times does she need to mess things up with whom that she fell in love with.

"Y/n, i-it's fine, honestly just–" y/n got scared as Wonwoo sighs "–maybe you need rest just a for a little while, you seem weird for awhile now..."

he noticed. he freaking noticed.

and again y/n wanted to just scream and cry because she's already out of luck of making him return her feelings but also he found her weird. weird!

"i'll get going now y/n... maybe just go home and rest if you wanna" and maybe it was the weird smile he gave that crushed y/n or the view of the other walking away, but either way she was messed up.

[ 4 t h w a y ]:

the beach.

the beach is always fun, especially with your friends or family and to y/n it was an easy place to relax and just have fun, like build sandcastles and play in the water but sadly y/n can't do it because of the weird feeling of being awkward around someone, someone you particularly like more than a sunbae and is probably one of the bestest things in y/n's life.

it was seungcheol's idea for the them to take a break, because they had been on a tight schedule recently and is drained from all of it (or maybe Wonwoo told seungcheol about y/n acting weird and this is a way for y/n to rest, atleast that's what she thinks)

so here is y/n, playing a sport she isn't even good at or doesn't even know that rules of it, it was beach volleyball and seungkwan of course made her join.

don't get y/n wrong,she did know the simple things like serving, receiving and all of those stuff but in over all she just wasn't really into the sport like the others are, but either way she just joined because maybe this will clear her mind up for a bit.

and it did! surprisingly it did, y/n didn't think of the older as they were playing, she heard his voice time to time and she doesn't know if it's because Wonwoo was really there or she was just going crazy but either way she was doing just fine with it.

until of course she messes up.

you see they changed sides of the court as they get into another set, and this time joshua's team was facing the clear way, while y/n's team was facing their hut, where the other guys that are not in the game are resting and y/n almost didn't want to do it because the chances of Wonwoo appearing is huge, much larger than y/n not messing up more likely.

and for some reason it was y/n's turn to serve the ball and it was fine and all,she knew how to do that, it may not be amazing but it was just okay but what wasn't okay is that as she is about to serve the ball her eyes catched Wonwoo walking over at the back of joshua's team, causing y/n to hit the ball not on the other team's direction.

but wonwoo's direction

and before the ball could land she catches wonwoo's eyes and just as it hits the other latter straight on the head,and what made it worse was that it was normal to the other guys but to her it made stuff way worse.

like before y/n bowed and apologized to the older which ended up with the older, again, shrugging her off but what made it worse was wonwoo's last words.

"at this point i don't know if something's wrong with me or is it just you"

and it may mean something else but all if did was the same thing,,, crush y/n's heart.

as soon as they got home after the whole week of suffering for y/n, the younger immediately went to the practice rooms to dance her little heart out, frustrations all released by the dance, making her heart lighter than the weight it was before.

but it seems like she just can't catch a break.

as she dances to a random song from her playlist, the door of the room opens revealing a Jeon Wonwoo looking to want to do the same thing y/n is doing at the moment.

and for some reason her phone's music logged, stopping y/n and making her face the older who is at the door with a blank face.

"Wonwoo–" "just tell me what's wrong y/n?"

Y/n felt her heart in her throat as she gulps down the feeling, looking at the floor and finding it much more interesting now.

"nothing's wrong, everything happening is just accidents–"

Y/n's words gets cut off as Wonwoo walks closer "accidents my ass! it just seems like you're uncomfortable with me, like you're avoiding me, like you're afraid of me–"

Y/n taps her foot on the floor, a sign of nervousness from the older's words

"–you keep on spacing out when you're with me, you get tense and you do all these things and you apologize like the world is mad at you for it! Y/n what the hell is wrong? cause i certainly do not know"

and y/n's walls break, tears slowly falling, it was just small but the drops were enough for the older to see, stepping closer.

"Wonwoo-nim, i-i just–

i fell for you, okay!?"

Y/n felt her breathing being heavy as the air swallows her full, not taking notice of the older stepping more closer to her.

"i love you more than i should've, and i don't know why everytime you're there everything i do gets messed up when all i wanna do is say i love you!" and that's it, y/n felt the air swallow her whole as she looks down again.

"breaking your phone in front of me was an i love you?"

Y/n looked up at the older as she takes a step back and older takes another step closer.

"breaking jeonghan hyung's favorite plate was an i love you?"

step back. one step closer.

"spilling coffee on me was an i love you?"

step back. one step closer.

"hitting me with a volleyball was an i love you?"

Y/n feels the cool glass of the mirror behind her back as Wonwoo corners her in the corner, face closer than before,she can feel the older's breathe on her lips.

"where all of those an i love you?"

Y/n looks down "supposed to be, but–"

"do you think all of those were enough for me to get what you were feeling? huh?"

"no but–"

"then tell me. tell me the exact way."

Y/n closes her eyes "i love you..."

and she felt a pair of lips on her's and she thinks she's dreaming but once she opened her eyes there he was, Jeon Wonwoo with his smiling glory.

and y/n was about to speak when Wonwoo dropped his phone

"She's gonna love you. You look fine, I dressed you so of course you look amazing."

You turn back towards the bed plopping down skulking, "I'm still nervous. Your mom is a big part of your life and I really need her to like me."

Hyunsuk makes his way over to the bed pulling you back up into a hug, "My mom will love anyone that I love. Now let's go."

🐼 Jihoon

"Stop, frowning so much you're gonna give yourself wrinkles," Jihoon says.

You scoff flicking him on the head, "I'm nervous. You're my boyfriend, you're supposed to comfort me."

"Nah, you'll be fine," Jihoon concludes, "Also you hit hard I think I have a bump now."

"Oh come on Hoonie. Do you think they will like me?"

"Honestly, I don't know," He replies and you reach out and flick him again, "Oww, okay I'll be serious. I think they will like you. They might ask you a lot of questions, but they just want to get to know you."

"This going to be a long dinner isn't it?" You question.

"Yep, they are going to find out every single detail about your life. I'm going to tell embarrassing stories to them because I love you oh so much."

🐨 Junkyu

"Why are you sweating too? It's not like this is the first time you have met your parents," you complain. Junkyu looks more nervous than you which is ironic.

He rubs his sweaty hands on his jeans, "I know but they are very straightforward. If they don't like you they will tell you."

You nod looking down, "Do you think they won't like me then?"

"I honestly have no idea but regardless of what they think I still want to be with you." Junkyu's sweaty hands grasp yours and he leaves a small kiss on your index finger.

🐯 Yoshi

"You know what I should have brought a gift we should turn around. Don't you bring a card or something to the first meeting?"

"I don't think that's a thing," Yoshi answered.

"I should have gotten a plant or something. People like plants. Is your mom a plant person?" Asking all these questions is actually helping your nerves.

"No, my sister might be though." He ponders.

"That doesn't help me at all. You know what let's just get this over with."

Yoshi places his hands on your shoulders slowly rubbing them. He looks you in the eyes, "I get that you're scared, but I promise my mom is probably more scared or meet you than you are. Look we don't have to do this yet if you are nervous."

You contemplate the odds of pushing back the date. While extremely tempting it also means so much to Yoshi that you get along with his family. Instead of opting out you just shake your head, "This means a lot to you. Plus your mom sounds lovely. Let's do this."

🐹 Mashiho

"Do you even know how this is going to go?" You ask picking at a piece of lint on Mashiho's shirt.

"I think it will be fine," Mashiho replies, "My parents have always supported me. I don't see why this would be any different."

"Well you have never introduced a girlfriend this is different. If they think I have a bad influence on you or I am not to their standard they won't approve."

"My parents aren't like that. Also you aren't the type of person that someone wouldn't fall in love with. The more they talk and get to know you the more they will see why I love you."

🦁 Jaehyuk

"This is the dress you should wear," Jaehyuk concludes pulling out the yellow sun dress from your closet.

You shake your head, "No, I wore that one last week I got a black stain on the end of it. I can't get it out."

"Oh," he puts the dress back in the closet reaching for another, "What about this one?" He's holding up a white romper that you got last summer.

"That one makes my ankles look fat." You complain.

"I don't think my parents will care about your ankles," Jaehyuk points out.

"Well I care about my ankles. I don't have anything to wear guys we can't go then. Let's just order some food and watch a movie." You suggest already reaching for your phone to order.

Jaehyuk walks over to you grabbing your phone before you can, "No, you're going we promised to eat dinner with them months ago."

You whine, falling back dramatically onto the sofa, "I don't wanna go. They probably don't like me for pushing the dinner off for so long."

"Just one more reason we have to go tonight. Eventually they are going to be mad that you don't wanna meet them. Look, my parents just want to make sure you're not going to hurt me or something. Your parents would do the exact same thing"

"Okay you have a point. Just don't baby me the whole dinner."

"I will not be making any promises."

🤖 Asahi

You and Asahi had decided to have a weekend in rather than going out. Seoul is currently going through the 3rd hottest summer it has ever had and the idea of walking around in the warm weather is not tempting.

"What should we eat tonight?" You question. Your current lying down on the couch dressed in sweatpants and a tank top. Asahi is sitting in front of the couch trying to find something to watch on TV.

Asahi shrugs pushing his hair back with his hand, "I don't know. We could cook what do you have?"

"I think I have enough for pasta." You respond sitting up on the couch.

"That sounds good," his phone vibrates as you start to stand up. He looks conflicted at the name across the phone. It's in Japanese so you can't read it. Asahi looks at you and to the phone as if he silently is asking for permission.

"You can answer the call, that's fine. I'll start the pasta," as you start to walk away he grabs your hand pulling you back.

"It's my mom she is going to want to say hi." He says. Picking up the phone ready to answer.

"Oh, well then no I should just leave. I don't know any Japanese."

"That's fine. I'll translate for you." He answers the call with an excited shout of hi.

That's how you end up face timing your boyfriend's mom with him translating for you. The nerves of course don't go anyway the entire call but at least you have met one of the parents now. Only one more to go.

"You know my parents like to sing. They don't care if you can. They just want the first meeting to be fun." Yedam explains.

"This is not my definition of fun. I'm going to embarrass myself."

"You won't. I already told them you don't want to sing." Yedam reassures.

"What if they make me? I can't say no to your parents. I'll look like a bad girlfriend."

"Then I'll have to sing with you. We can sing a duet. I'll hold you hand the whole time."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

🐰 Doyoung

"My mom wants to meet you." Doyoung states. You both just woke up and as always he closed you to say good morning.

"Okay, when?" You question.

"Today at lunch. She wants to meet at Onion." He explains.

"Today? Isn't that a little bit early,"

"We have been together for a while and she thinks it time to meet you," Doyoung says.

You sigh before responding, "I don't know if I can do that. I am going to have to make a good impression."

"I don't think any of that matters. It's just brunch."

"Okay as long as you are there I should be fine."

"Oh I won't be there. I have to go to the store with my dad. You should be ready by 11 though my mom will be at the cafe waiting for you."

I have to go by myself.

"Kim Doyoung, did you just set me up to have a date without your mom without asking me?"

"I might have. You'll be fine. I have to go so you won't kill me. I love you bye." He hangs up before you have the chance to debate with him.

"Love you too. I guess." You mumble burying your head in your hands. I don't have the time for this you think.

🐏 Haruto

"I have a surprise for you." Haruto tells you.

"Sounds fun. What is it?"

Haruto pulls out two prices of paper from his back pocket and places them on the table, "Ticket to Japan for next weekend. Ta-da!"

"Oh my gosh really?" You exclaimed grabbing onto the tickets, "This is amazing, but do I have enough time to book an hotel?"

"You won't need a hotel. You can just stay with my family." Haruto replies.

"Is that such a good idea? I haven't even met your parents yet."

"Exactly this is the best time to meet them. Plus these tickets aren't refundable so you have to go."

"As long as it's okay with your parents I guess we are going to Japan."

🐺 Jeongwoo

"What do you mean your parents are on their way?"

"I mean my parents are joining us tonight for tteokbokki." Jeongwoo causally answers.

"You're just now telling me this. How long have you known?"

Jeongwoo looks up at the ceiling to ponder, "I don't know maybe the entire week."

"You have known the entire week! Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I knew you would react like this. They're just my parents. They won't kill you."

"They're not going to like me, I can already tell. I don't even have on nice clothes. I am in jeans and a t-shirt. I know I should have dressed up today." I pointed out. I am not even remotely ready to meet Jeongwoo's parents.

"You look fine. You don't have to dress up, you're already pretty. Looks aren't everything. You have a beautiful personality. That's why I like you. If I like you my parents will have to as well."

🐮 Junghwan

"This was really fun. We should have gone to a carnival a long time ago," you smile holding tightly onto a small blue bunny Junghwan won you.

Junghwan blushes a bit looking down, "I am glad you had fun. Next time we have to go to Lotte World."

"That would be so much fu-" you start to say before you hear a loud voice over the crowd yelling 'So Junghwan'.

Junghwan looks up looking around for the voice calling out his name. He pales and then looks at you. He barely can whisper out, "It's my parents."

As soon as the words leave his lips your stomach churns. Junghwan mentioned his parents being super strict when it came to even just letting him come out tonight.

"Are they coming over here? Do I look okay?"

"You look fine. Just turn around, smile and introduce yourself. I'll think of an escape plan."

"Junghwan-ah here you are. Are you going to introduce us to your friend?"

This was probably the worst way to meet your boyfriend's parents but at least they deemed you okay. You could live with that.

as an avid rhythm game player, I have lots of opinions about songs, cards, gameplay, stories, and especially characters.

so, because it's my echo chamber, I'm gonna list off characters I don't like and why.

Bandori:

Chisato Shirasagi - she often bullies Aya and Maya. Aya for being ditzy, Maya for her laugh. at first I didn't like her because of her cold shouldering the group, but I moved past that after reading event stories where she grew closer with everyone. The fact that she bullies those two though is too much for me, don't like her.

Hina Hikawa - she also bullies Aya. however she's doing it unintentionally cause she has a lot of autistic traits, she mainly just thinks of Aya as super quirky, but it comes off in a bad manner.

Touko - when I first saw her character, I thought I'd like her cause we look similar. but she's very pushy and stubborn which I'm not a huge fan of. she (also unintentionally) pushes Mashiro around and I don't like it.

D4DJ:

Muni Ohnaruto - she reminds me of Nico Yazawa, but not as fleshed out, so she comes across as really rude and standoffish.

Shinobu Inuyose - she's very similar to Muni, but she doesn't remind me of Nico (weird huh). she plays it cool and acts like she doesn't care about her group mates or DJing with them through high school, and truthfully, that's so lame. why would I want to like a character that acts like they don't care or like anybody around them? it's just upsetting.

Noa Fukushima - she makes fun of Towa lots :(. she also acts strange around quite a few characters and I'm not a fan of it. but it's mainly bullying Towa that I don't like. like in the Tanabata event story, she made fun of Towa's old AND new wish, and there was no reason for it :/.

Ibuki Niijima - I don't like or dislike her, but I don't like that she'll normally add on to whatever mean thing Noa says to Towa.

Love Live:

Dia Kurosawa - she coddles Ruby and is overly protective of her while being overly critical, pushy, and strict with all the other members.

Ayumu Uehara - I don't like how possessive she is about Yuu. like, Yuu will have lots of events to attend and plans with other people, and Ayumu will be SO upset because Yuu isn't with her. it just makes reading stories with her annoying (not annoying, but I can't think of the word I want to use).

Karin Asaka - I actually really liked Karin until the chapter where the association and the club had a live show competition. The fact that she gets so upset and pushes everyone away to the point where she'll be mean to them after she loses is just so lame and so pathetic. I don't like it one bit.

Mia Taylor - I like her but I don't like how she talks about Yuu. she's so incredibly disrespectful on purpose and thinks of Yuu as genuinely below her because she's not a professional in what she does. it's so lame and so rude.

that's all the characters for the rhythm games I play. of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and people can totally love these characters. it goes both ways. I guarantee that someone who loves these characters probably hates the characters I love, that's just how these things go ╮(─▽─)╭ and that's totally fine.

Huh! I always read "this wasn't part of the plan" as not actually about a plan to bring Buddy to Mr. Beautiful, but almost about a *larger scope* plan they had together to try to make Olathe peaceful. So like, Rando coming and starting a fight with him wasn't a part of the plan insofar as *it goes against their shared goal of large-scale peace*, not due to an *actual* step-by-step plan they had for this scenario. Like, part of Rando's flaw of passivity seems to be that he isn't the best at (1/2)

(2/?) actually thinking through his smaller steps towards his larger goals - because larger goals enable you to justify inaction. Adding in *small* term goals on the way and considering those potential consequences would more likely lead someone to a more *consistently active* role than I think Rando would be comfortable with. So, I think my take on his dynamic with Mr. Beautiful is in part due to my drastically different take on those lines. So yes that would mean that Rando would totally be the 'Step 1: Have UNICs grab me and Buddy, Step 2: ???, Step 3: EVERYTHING WORKS OUT GREAT AND THERE'S WORLD PEACE' type. Which is just. *Hilarious* to think about in context, but also helps explain why he doesn't keep his army on a tighter leash. He legitimately *didn't realize it was a problem* due to it not falling into his longer scope concept, which allowed him to stay more passive and willfully ignorant overall. Because, let's be real, he would *really* hate having to enforce strict discipline on his men unless actively forced to, due to how much he sympathizes with and cares about them. Sweet as it is, there's a reason why giving someone one last chance to stop their actions out of goodwill *after they just mowed through your entire army to get someone running away from them* probably isn't the best option for anyone involved. So yeah, my take on the Mr. Beautiful - Rando 'plan' dialogue was a more idealistic 'promised to make the world a better place together' kind of "plan", and not like. An actual. step-by-step. plan. Because Rando doesn't seem good at those, lmfao. And, mixed with the whole "Thomas..." line, that teeny tiny bit of conversation between him and Mr. Beautiful came off *to me* more like having to confront his best friend, that he dreamed of changing the world with, all because he wasn't willing to stop his sister from her indiscriminate Warlord murder spree. So a really different take on the same scene, looks like!

Oooh this was all super interesting thank you for sending! I like the distinction you make about Rando being terrible at short-term planning, I’ve never considered that but it works XD If you have a big overarching goal that you say you’re always working towards, but never delineate how you’re reaching it, it’s easier to rest in your laurels and be in a more passive position. LOVE that interpretation. 

It could possibly be why he's so shocked at Buddy. After she kills the unics, her plan is to get rest, then kill all of Olathe’s warlords. Say what you will about Buddy, but she is a girl of ACTION! It’s why Rando and Buddy are such good foils and why their relationship is so fascinating. 

Also super agreed on all the stuff about Rando’s passivity towards minding his soldiers. It’s why I always define Rando as a ‘figurehead’ rather than a proper leader.

But yeah it’s cute imaging Rando and Mr Beautiful as close, it makes sense! I certainly had ideas I was considering for ASAL involving them having a close mentor/pupil relationship. It’s also interesting that two of Olathe’s warlords (I know Rando isn’t technically a warlord technically but I consider him one) that are seeking peace both wear masks. Coincidence? Yeah probably dkjahfah

The 7 brothers with a 10 year-old lilith (+ side characters & mc)

This is an hc is inspired by the chapter 14 flashback, so the gist of this Hc is what if lilith gets turned into a 10 year old child try as diavolos way to save her. This is gonna be a really long post so strap in~❤️.

General info about 10 year old lilith:

She has no recollection or memories about the celestial war or being an angel at all.

The post might say 10 years old but she's probably already pass the 1000+ mark, but still is and acts like a child.

Lucifer

" if you behave I'll give you a princess poison apple and play with you "

Lucifer being the eldest takes it upon himself to be a father like figure to her. In front of the others, he makes sure to keep a strict front but in private, he's alot more softer on her.

Lucifer's room has a toy chest for her since she likes spending time and playing in his room. And being the child that she is, she even dresses up the skeleton in his room. If he's not busy, he would play with her, simple playing house and all.

One time while lucifer was doing paper work,lilith wanted to help him . So to keep lilith busy, he handed her a bunch of void documents and told her to sign them. In the end she got bored and decided to draw her with her 7 older brothers. Which luci decided to frame and put up at the entrance hall.

If lilith gets into trouble, luci doesn't shy away from punishment. But rather than stringing someone upside down and leaving them like that for 100 years, he would just ground lilith and take away her toys. (Buuuuut her other brothers would just sneak some of her toys to her room, especially beel and belphie)

Mammon

" heh you should be greatful you're brothers with the GREAT mammon, shortie! Huh?! w-wait dont cry! "

Mammon loves teasing lilith. Be it calling her a pipspeak, shortie, cry baby, etc. He's said them all, buuuuut he always takes it back because lilith might tell lucifer and he gets punished AG A I N.

Lilith as much as possible doesn't leave any of her things in mammon's room, because her other brothers warn her that he's going to sell them away.

One time mammon stole something from lucifer (probably something to profit from), and lilith was in lucifers room because she was playing hide and seek with beel. Seeing mammon stealing, she gets out of her hiding spot and tells mammon that she will rat him out to her big brother lucifer.mammon taking non of this shitz says he'll do whatever she wants. By the end of the day, lilith gets a new plushie and mammon still got ratted out because how can she lie to her big brother lucifer?

Mammon does try to get her involved in his schemes sometimes. Making her ask money from her other brothers and other more shenanigans, but when he's feeling it he will in fact spoil her with little treats such as candy.

Leviathan

" wooah you look so much like ruri-chan! Can you sing too?"

Levi is still as much of a shut- in, having a younger sibling that he can teach TSL or play games with is his dream come true. Lilith goes to his room to watch anime (for her its cartoons but dont tell levi because he will be very triggered) with him and play video games.

If lilith does go to levi's room , he's always watching out just in case she ends up using his precious figurines as dolls or touching his precious merch. Sometimes( most of the time) when he's too busy playing his games, lilith will just talk to henry 2.0 and feed him.

Levi is a mega ultra super duper (insert more hyperbolic words) fan of ruri-chan, so during lilith's birthday..he gave her a ruri-chan costume (the other brothers already knew where this was heading but they couldn't stop it since lilith liked the cute clothes). She wore them and levi literally freaked because she looked just like her! He posted a picture of her on devilgram and the pic got a decent amount of likes.

The only time that lilith gets in trouble with levi is her staying with him past her bed time, she gets pouty about it but in the end she still gets taken to bed by her big brother lucifer.

Satan

"i can read you a story or we can play tea time, what do you prefer? "

Satan acts alot like a tutor to lilith, he teaches her about manners, reading and writing, and many other things. Satan loves teaching lilith especially when he sees her trying to pronounce big words, which he finds adorable.

Satan for the most part wants lilith to stay out of his room because there are too many dangerous books around. But he would rather play with her in her room instead, either reading a children's bed time book before going to bed or playing tea time with her. They both share a love for pets and animals, so in his free time, he will take her to a kitty cafe where she can play with the lil furballs.

Satan was regulary teaching lilith about different animals, until they got to the cat. Lilith became so intrigued by cats that satan spent a good 30 minutes to an hour of answering her questions about cats. One day, he saw lilith crying by the stairs. He quickly went over and asked her what's wrong, only to find out that she asked lucifer if they can adopt a cat wherein lucifer completely dismisses the idea. Knowing that Lucifer's mind wont change, the next day satan surprises lilith with a black cat plushie with a red bow tie thats as tall (or alitte bit smaller) than her. Until this day, the cat plushie satan gave her is her favourite. She is never seen without it, and she even gave it a name, mr. Momo.

The only time that lilith ever gets in trouble is if she joins in on satan's pranks on lucifer. But most of the time she's let off the hook if they're harmless ones.

Asmodeus

" waahh~ lilith's so adorable, but not as adorable as me"

To lilith, asmo is the closest thing to a sister she can have. Being the only girl in the house( before mc, if mc is a girl ), asmo likes to doll her up and make her his little dress up doll. He often buys clothes for her because he just LOVES making her pretty.

She doesn't spend as much time in asmo's room because there isn't much to do there, but when asmo calls her in after a shopping trip. She already knows he's going to make her pretty as a peach!

It was lilith's birthday and Asmo wanted to dress her up for the occasion! Hair? Check! Make up? Check! Clothes? Check! She was looking as pretty as ever (but not as pretty as him). After dolling her up , lilith went to her other brothers to show Amos work. All of them asked if a child should be wearing that much make up, but asmo tells lilith to shrug them off because they can't appreciate beauty even if it hits them in the face!

The one thing that gets lilith in trouble is lucifer seeing her being dressed by asmo , wearing clothes not fit for a 10 year old girl. Seriously, devilgram level make up on a kid is not appropriate (well in lucifer and some of the other brothers point of view)

Beezlebub

" the eggs taste like plastic..huh? I'm not supposed to eat them? Sorry, they looked too realistic"

Beel is very close with lilith. He spends most of his time watching over her or bringing her to his favourite food joints to eat. Since beel is so big, she loves it when he carries her around, either on his shoulders or just being carried in general. Beel wants to protect lilith at all times, so if sorcerers or witches want to summon lilith, he comes along to watch over her still.

if its not Lucifer's room, lilith's next stop is always the twin's room. She goes in and jumps on either of the beds and having her toys there as well she can already entertain herself. When beel is there to play with her, she likes to play chef and make him food using her plastic kitchen toy set( though some pieces are missing since beel keeps forgetting that its plastic). If she doesn't want to play with her toys, she tries to tickle fight beel and always wins.

Beel was in his room eating a box of cupcakes until lilith barges in and sees him eating cupcakes, she pouts at beel asking why he didn't tell her that he had cupcakes. Beel, being beel just says to her, " they're my cupcakes". She pouts even more and says that she wants a cupcake as well. Beel couldn't resist and splits the cupcake, giving the other half to her. After finishing the cupcake, he promises to buy her a box aswell next time.

Lilith having a sweet tooth herself will often look in the fridge for sweets. She sometimes ends up eating beels food(custard), and hides the evidence. Beel rampages again and breaks the kitchen. Lucifer then lines all of them up and ask who ate the custard, and all of them immediately suspect mammon. But being a good girl, lilith admits her mistake and apologizes to beel, who calms down and says ," you could have left me some..".

Belphegor

" how about later...? Im still too sleepy to teach you..."

Belphie, same with beel, is pretty close with lilith. If he isn't cuddling her as his favourite cuddle buddy, he's teaching her how to dance ballet(Based it off his dancing sprite). Lilith spends most of her afternoon napping with belphie.

Besides playing with beel , lilith also loves playig around with belphie. She makes it an everyday challenge for herself to wake him up in the most creative ways. It can be things such as ice,drawing on his face, tickles, etc. When belphie is too lazy to stand up from bed( which is often), she just plays with his hair and does whatever she wants with it. When he finally does stand up, he teaches lilith some ballet. While she's even wearing her full ballet attire, with tutu included.

It was the middle of the night and lilith had a nightmare, she wanted to go to her big brother lucifer, but it was already late and she might be disturbing him. But then she remembered that mid nights is when his big brother belphie is awake, so she goes over to him with mr.momo. belphie is alittle confused since its way past her bedtime so he asked her whats wrong. She climbs up his bed and hugs him, after calming down she tells belphie that she had a nightmare. Belphie was well acquainted with nightmares, so he knew exactly what to do. They went to the kitchen and both had a cup of warm milk. Going back to his room, he cuddled up with lilith and made sure she had a good nights sleep.

Lilith ends up over sleeping and gets very cranky if she gets rudely awakened.the others find it very adorable.

Mc

"...." * Huwgs*

So this depends on the mc's personality but lets start from the beginning. After being sent to the devildom and having the basic run down of what is to come, mammon takes you to the house of lamentations. The first thing you notice once the door opens, is toys scattered all around the entrance hall. Not only toys, but you see a height lines at one of the door frames. Mammon gets more annoyed because he stepped on one of the toys and he shouts out," lilith!". A small girl carrying a black cat plushie almost her size comes down the stairs. Mammon scolds her for leaving her toys out like that and he introduces you to their 8th sibling, lilith. Lilith immediately hugs you (no matter the gender), because it's been a while since she's seen a human. And you become her instant play mate.

The mc's room already has a toy chest, filled with lilith's favourite toys. She likes to play around with the mc and actually gets quite attached to them.

Lilith gets so comfortable around the mc that she ask permission from her big brother luci if she can make a pact with the mc. Of course, lucifer is skeptical but he allows it because of liliths enthusiasm.

Diavolo

" ah lilith , I didn't think you would be accompanying lucifer today. "

Dia acts alot like the rich uncle that only comes back during the holidays to give out presents. Lilith rarely gets to see diavolo because most of the time it's only lucifer that gets to see him. But, when lucifer does come back he often gives lilith sweets that barbatos made by diavolo's order.

On the rare occasions that lucifer brings lilith along with him, she acts very reserved and shows off the manners lessons that satan has been teaching her.

On one evening, lucifer brings lilith along to dinner with diavolo. While eating, diavolo jokes around saying that lucifer should just stay in the castle with him. Suddenly, lilith bumps in and protests against the idea, " no big brother luci's staying with us". She hugs as much of lucifers arm that she can, giving diavolo her most pouty and "menacing face". Dia loves seeing how much she cares for her brother, while lucifer is trying his best to hide his embarrassment.

Luke

" ahhhhh! Im not a child! I dont want to play with a demon!"

When lilith first saw luke, her mind immediately said," playmate! ". Though luke always complains about being treated like a child because he's short, he tries to bare it because simeon convinced him to play with lilith.

When in the purgatory hall, she brings along mr.momo and some other toys. luke sometimes pretend he isn't there so he doesn't have to play with lilith, but once he hears a sniffle of her almost crying. He couldn't help but open the door for her and play.

Upon first meeting luke, the key difference in height was..still... apparent. Somehow, lilith is still a few inches taller than luke. Being the giddy child she is, she tells her brothers about it and they all start laughing their lungs out. And when luke finally got wind of it, he was so flustered and embarrassed, he almost refused to leave his room.

Solomon

" why not make a pact with me?"

All her brothers warn her about solomon and to stay as far away from him as possible, she rarely gets to interact with him. But most of the times they do meet, he often ask her to make a pact with him. She always replies to him, " i have to ask big brother luci's permission first". Solomon just smiles and pats her head.

Huhu not much i can say about him since im sure the brothers distance lilith from solomon as much as possible.
