Leaning over and buckling your seatbelt

▸Cove huffs whenever you forget to buckle yourself in. Of course, he’s not upset, in fact he loves leaning over and doing it for you. Totally not using that as a reason to steal a smooch from you. 

▸He also cares about safety; anything can happen, and he doesn’t want to see you hurt. Like what if a helicopter suddenly falls on top of your car? Or what if he breaks too hard and you fly out the window?? 

▸He always makes sure you’re buckled in first before he does so himself and starts the car. Even if you’re in a rush. Safety first! 

▸And he totally doesn’t grumble in displeasure whenever you beat him in buckling your seatbelt first. 

“I wanted to buckle you in… what? I didn’t say anything?”

Zipping up your jacket

▸Whenever you both decide to go out whenever it’s cold, you always toss on a jacket and not zip it up. Cove will and aways zip it up for you, not caring of your whining.

▸He doesn’t want you to get sick! If you do, he won’t be able to kiss you until you feel better and even though he has good patience, he doesn’t want to wait too long. 

▸And once he reaches the maximum level, he just dives in and smothers you in kisses despite your protests, next thing you know, you’re both sick. 

▸But hey! What’s a better time to spend with your partner than being sick together? He doesn’t care if he misses work, he’s happy enough to spend this time with you. 

▸Unfortunately, you can’t be angry with him for too long because look at that face! He’s really sorry but he’ll make it up to you once you both get better. 

“I’m sorry (Name) for not listening... But at least we get to be sick together!” 

Holding your hand before crossing the street

▸Again, a safety thing, but he loves holding your hand and uses this as an excuse to hold yours. And to show off to others that ‘hey look! we’re holding hands so that means we’re dating! so back off!’. Especially in front of the cars you’re walking past, Cove giving the poor drivers a scare from his intense staring.

▸Y'know that one Tik Tok audio clip from Chowder that basically goes like “Hold my hand NOW”. Yeah, that’s Cove, but he would never yell or use force on you to hold his hand. He instead pouts and gives you the puppy look so you can hold his hand.  Which you do because he looks adorable.

▸Always, without missing a beat, always kisses your hand. He loves bringing up your intertwined hands to his lips and plant a kiss, letting his lips linger for a bit before bringing your hands down and swinging them gently, a skip in his step. 

▸The warmth seeping from your palms brings Cove a sense of calmness. Just being near you calms his mind from any negative thoughts that spring up randomly. 

“Oh, we’re about to cross the street, (Name)! Hold my hand before we cross!” 

Tying your shoes

▸Sometimes we leave the house in a rush and forget the most important thing. Tying our shoes! But with our trusty boyfriend, Cove, he always does it for you! He would stop you, kneel down and tap his knee, signaling you to put your foot on it so he could tie your shoes properly. 

▸He always checks if you tie your shoes or not. Cove doesn’t want you to trip and fall for other people. See what I did there?? No? Okay anyway if you do fall for some reason, he’ll be there to sweep you off your feet. 

▸Whenever he finishes tying your shoes, Cove would stand back up and look into your eyes with a shiny smile. You question him and he points at his cheek, blue eyes shining even brighter. 

▸He wants a reward from saving you from any falls you could’ve had in the future! Cove wants a kiss. From you. Either on the lips or cheek, he’s not a picky person. 

“Here, let me tie your shoes for you.”

Always offering you food

▸Even though Cove loves shoving food in his mouth and swallowing it in one go, he never forgets to offer you some. Doesn’t matter if the snack is small and it’s not enough to feed two people, Cove will walk over and ask if you want a bite.

▸If you offer him food, he’ll be floored and open his mouth as you spoon feed him your meal. He’ll be happy with whatever you feed him a tiny crumb, a vegetable he doesn’t like, reluctantly, he’ll eat that.

▸Drinks! Drinks are included in the equation. 

▸Even though Cove wants to sip on the refreshing slurpy, he will make sure you have the first zip without fail. 

▸Cove blushes at the thought of the indirect kiss whenever you put your lips on any of his utensils he eats with. Even though y’all are already dating. He still gets flutters from you. 

“Want a bite, (Name)?”

Forehead goodbye kisses 

▸Whenever you or Cove are running late or have to leave for a few hours, Cove will pull you towards him and plant a kiss on your forehead.

▸Has become a routine for you both to never leave without you receiving Cove’s kiss before heading out to work. Honestly, it’s the best way to start off the day and he hopes that it never changes.

▸But when you’re in a rush, you sometimes forget to receive that kiss and that brings down Cove’s morning. He pouts and waits for you to return so you can pepper your face with kisses to make up for the one you missed in the morning. 

▸You’re sorry but you can’t complain from the kiss onslaught so it’s a win-win

“Oh, you’re leaving right now? Let me kiss your forehead!” 

“I miss you...” texts throughout the day

▸This kinda goes with the ‘goodbye kisses’ 

▸Cove texts you throughout the day that he misses you. He sends one not even a minute of you leaving the house you both lived in. 

▸He’ll send a text saying that he ‘craves to cuddle you’ when you leave to take a shit. 

▸It’s really cute until he starts spamming you while you’re in a meeting, your embarrassed face sputtering out apologies towards your workers.

The source of the video game bleeps and bloops in media

Have you ever wondered what the source of those specific video game bleeps and bloops were from? Odds are if a show or movie had a character play a video game or if a scene takes place in an arcade than it's very likely that it uses the same distinct sound effects that originally were sourced from the Atari VCS (2600) ports of Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. These ports are already historically important with Donkey Kong being one of the few Nintendo games to be released on non-Nintendo hardware and Pac-Man being one of the most anticipated releases for Atari at the time. Today these ports are often mocked for how butchered they are to the arcade originals but at the time these were fine ways to experience these arcade games at home.

So why are the sounds from these arcade ports used so often in media? You can pretty much thank the widespread use of a particular sound effect library and in this case the Series 1000 Sound Effects Library which initially released on tape in 1979 and released on CD in 1983. A good chunk of this library contains the same sounds found on another sound library called the Network Sound Effects Library.

The Series 1000 library however includes audio recordings of gameplay from these Atari games. Ever since then, these sounds have been used for many years and continues to be used to this very day. Before I showcase some examples of media using these sounds I would like to present the recordings from these games. The following is sourced from the Series 1000 Sound Effects Library which feature sound effects from Atari arcade ports.

If you're familiar with these ports than you can make out the specific sound effects present from these recordings. The distinct walking and jumping sounds in Donkey Kong and the dots being eaten and game over sounds from Pac-Man are the more identifiable sounds you hear. With this in mind here are a handful of examples of these sounds being used in media.

(Note: Due to Tumblr restricting one video per post I have compiled all the example clips in a single video so feel free to read below for the specific sound bytes used whilst the video plays.)

Arthur (1996)

The season 1 episode "Arthur Accused!" has Buster investigating an arcade which features sounds from Pac-Man as it eats ghosts and a faint sound of Pac-Man dying from a ghost.

Drake & Josh (2004)

The season 2 episode "The Bet" has Josh playing your typical video game but features several seconds of audio from Donkey Kong. Weirdly music from the Nintendo NES version of Tetris (Type-A specifically) can be heard when Josh is playing on his "handheld" which is clearly a red Game Boy Advance SP.

SpongeBob SquarePants (2007)

The season 5 episode "Atlantis SquarePantis" features a segment of Sandy in a retro inspired environment. The puzzle game segment features various cut up sound bytes from Donkey Kong including jumping over barrels and the walking sounds.

Chowder (2008)

The season 1 episode "Sniffleball" features a brief sound effect from Donkey Kong of Mario jumping over a barrel. (also what is this retro nonsense?)

Ted (2024)

The season 1 episode "Just Say Yes" features Ted and John playing Super Mario Bros. on the NES. For whatever reason no footage of the game is shown and the audio used is from, you guessed it those Atari games. Donkey Kong sound effects can be heard while brief snippets of Pac-Man can also be heard mixed in.

I could keep going but you get the idea. There are plenty of other examples you can find and I highly recommend checking out the Sound Effects Wiki if you're curious to see what other examples are out there. Linked below are the articles for the other sources for these Atari recordings.

I guarantee most folks nowadays aren't even aware that these sounds are from actual Atari games cause out of context they sound like generic bleeps and bloops. That's probably why it's so common to hear these sounds in media as unless you're a nerd like myself this is something you're likely not going to think about and I'd imagine the folks working with audio aren't gonna stop and think about where particular sounds come from outside of the library they're featured in.

Ok, I'm literally obsessed with the Separated!AU, I read all in the tag in a couple of hours, I made this account just for this AU

I want to know something, does Lou Jitsu exist? Like did Splinter also became a movie star in this AU too, if so, does the turtles like it as much as in canon?. I just can't stop thinking about a Leo who discovered Lou Jitsu movies and probably getting an hoperfixation over them and watching them non-stop when the day went wrong

Lou Jitsu does exist! I imagine Raph was never a huge Jupiter Jim fan, seeing as Splinter hates Jupiter Jerk, and Raph probably picked up on that, adopting the same mindset (I HC that Rise!Leo was the one who originally got his bros to watch it—seeing as he’s always referred to as the super fan, and because I love any call back to soft dork Space Heroes Leo SO. MUCH.) When Raph met April, she probably tried to get him into Jupiter Jim cause she likes the franchise, but Raph only really enjoys a couple films and according to April his taste in which JJ movie is the best is so bad, it’s not even worth talking to him about it.

Mikey would also be a hard core Lou Jitsu fan, but more from what he’s seen from his Battle Nexus fights. Lou Jitsu is the longest reigning champion after all—a total legend—with Mikey holding the title of second longest. Angelo straight up loses his mind when he finds out that there’s a whole filmography to enjoy, the old BN clips that Big Mama used to play for him were cool, but they were grainy and sometimes the angles sucked. But with the movies Mikey gets to see his hero in full remastered high def.

Leo is a Jupiter Jim fan first and foremost cause he’s secretly a huge dork. When he was little, a few of the older recruits had a movie night, and Leo, with just a hint of rebellion still in him, snuck in—just missing out on Punch Chowder, but right on time to catch Jupiter Jim Sails the Seven Galaxies. Ever since that night he was hooked, but had so few chances to ever enjoy anything more. Once he gets closer to April, she lets him borrow her whole collection of movies, series box sets, and comics, and the two are so happy to be able to geek out over all of it together, even if they can never agree on which movie is the best, April figures bad taste is just genetic at this point and has given up fighting it. Secretly though, Leo also loves Lou Jitsu after watching a few with Mikey and Raph, he just refuses to admit how much he likes it and says the dialogue is too corny. The two constantly gang up on Leo, saying that Lou Jitsu is better than Jupiter Jim, so it’s more him choosing one over the other out of stubborn pride.

Donnie is April’s saving grace with Jupiter Jim—agreeing offhandedly one day that Planet Vacation is the best movie of the ones he’s seen so far. However this is still in their off phase, and the irony is not lost on April. She’s devastated that the one brother with good taste seems to want nothing to do with her, but she’s now more invested than ever in winning Donnie over.

Once Donnie’s introduced to Lou Jitsu’s movies, he’s the one to point out how cool it is that their dad is a movie star. Which causes everyone to lose their shit. Because even though Splinter told Raph and April about his past with the Shredder as Hamato Yoshi, he never actually mentioned that he was THE action film star Lou Jitsu. But of course Donnie knows, because pretty much all he heard from Draxum for years was Lou Jitsu’s DNA this—Lou Jitsu ruined his life’s work that blah blah blah.

@organisedchaosstuff They’re just a bit too old to trick or treat unfortunately, but it is still a fun night where they get to walk around and not worry about freaking ppl out. The first year they’re all really together, Mikey pulls that whole ‘younger sibling who did a thing ONCE and now he thinks he’s an expert’ and acts like he’s Leo and Donnie’s guide for the night, even though Raph has been doing Halloween with April since they met.

Mikey’s just so excited he can hardly contain himself. Halloween at Big Mama’s was always a big to do. But it was, like always, a big fancy party that felt more like a chore than anything. The night he went out with Raph and April the year before, was more fun than 100 parties put together and now with Donnie and Leo it’ll be even more fun—even if Leo refuses to dress up—at least Donnie agreed to have some fun and dressed up as Frankenstein. Mikey dresses as a werewolf, Raph a vampire and April goes full zombie.

Everyone counts it as a win, when seconds before they head out, Raph plops a Jupiter Jim helmet on Leo’s head, and barring some slight grumbling, he ends up wearing it the whole night as they run around.

Absolute best place to get high quality perfumes at a great price! They're also really descriptive about each fragrance. One year I bought one fragrance for each member of my family and it was a huge hit, I'm still figuring out how to top that one frankly. Achilles Castle part 17

Alexis: pov our group is still a little shaken up. I'm ordering the corn dog and fries which Dave is carrying for me. He is ordering the burger and fries, my dad wants the triple cheese pizza. Gram wants a hot dog with fries, I'm carrying gram and dad's food.

Ryan: pov Sarah Grace wants the nugget and fries, I'm ordering the clam strips with onion rings, Esposito is carrying my food he is ordering the spicy Buffalo wings with corn bread. Jenny wants the lobster Mac and cheese.

Lanie: pov I'm ordering the clam chowder and it looks amazing. Kate doesn't know what she wants, Kate finally decides on grilled chicken with Spanish rice. All of our food comes with water, after we finish eating we are going to get funnel cake and ice cream. We talk about what plans we have for the rest of the day.

Castle: pov me and Ryan made plans for tomorrow after lunch we are taking everyone to the mall that way Sarah Grace can get a build a bear. Ryan also has a surprise for Jenny while he was at one of her obgyn appointments he asked for a recording of the baby's heartbeat without her knowing to put in a bear. I have a recording of Kate's heart beat post shooting I got from her cardiologist at one of her many appointments. I'm going to put it in a bear and surprise her dad Jim.

Jim: pov after dinner we hit the funnel cake stand Katie is so excited to have some, she can only have a little bit, the fair has a type of ice cream called dippin dots. They are round little ice cream balls that are about the size of beads. We all ordered different flavors. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. All of us decide to head home Jenny's feet are hurting her and Katie looks tired.

Castle: pov the ride home was short. Ryan is giving Sarah Grace a bath while Jenny relaxes on the sofa. Lanie and Esposito are relaxing and talking in Lanie's room, which is the guest room that Esposito is staying in. Lanie has been sleeping in Kate's room in case of an emergency.

Martha: pov Jim is sitting on the sofa watching tv, Katherine fell asleep with her head resting on him. Ryan is having trouble getting Sarah Grace to bed because she is scared by what happened today. Jim starts shouting that the news is talking about the fair, hurry, Katie's on the news.

Alexis: pov Me and Dave come running downstairs. The rest of the group is in the living room, the news lady Jill first shows the clip of the guy who owns the fair Nathan giving a statement then Chief Brady talking and Kate. Afterwards Jill says she has obtained video of the incident. where Captain Kate Beckett, who has a heart condition from previous chest trauma she suffered as a result of a shooting years ago, takes down the armed suspect. The video is from someone who was at the fair.

Jenny: pov I had no idea how seeing this video would affect us. The whole group is crying, Jim's screaming woke Kate up. I doubt any of us are getting any sleep tonight. Everyone spent a little bit longer in the living room before heading to bed. Kate is asleep again so Esposito offered to carry her to bed.

Lanie: pov thankfully Kate is already in her pj's. In the morning Kate takes her meds, everyone is getting ready for the day. Martha is making breakfast, I'm wearing an end gun violence shirt and Kate is wearing her. I survived a bullet shirt with gray shorts. Martha is making corned beef hash with eggs. I don't want Kate eating the corned beef hash but I have decided to let her have a tiny bit that way she feels included. I will just put more egg on her plate and some fruit. Everyone has their bathing suits under their clothes because we are going to the beach.

Castle: pov Ryan and Esposito are helping Jim pack sandwiches for the beach so that way we can have lunch there. Jenny is getting Sarah Grace ready, while Alexis and Dave pack snacks and water bottles. The boys, Aexis and Dave are carrying the cooler and chairs. Lanie has incased my leg in plastic wrap to prevent sand from getting in. I will use my crutches on the beach, once I'm sitting I should be good.

Kate: pov I grab my swim shirt that goes on top of my bathing suit, it protects me from the sun. Lanie grabbed my sun block and emergency bag I go everywhere with. I don't handle the heat very well. At the beach Alexis and Dave help Castle settle down with his feet up in his chair with a book. It is a folding chair that turns into a lounge chair so his feet are off the ground.

Esposito: pov Lanie is putting a special sun block on Kate, before she puts on her swim shirt. I make sure Kate's chair is in the shade. There are a good amount of people on the beach even though it's private. One of Castle's neighbors comes up to us and says he saw Kate on the news and wanted to congratulate her. Alexis and Dave are going in the water. Kate wants to join them which means Lanie goes in the water also. I offer to switch with Lanie so she can finish her book and take a break. She does so much for Kate to make sure she is 100 percent.

Dave: pov Esposito is helping Kate into her life vest so she can go into the water. Castle just filled up the pool raft/float for Kate so she can relax in the water if she wants. Me and Alexis are splashing each other. Ryan is with Sarah Grace in the shallow end near shore. There are 2 teen boys in the water splashing everyone. To be continued. …….

Was thinking abt "artist signatures" e.i what makes your style recognizable and it occurred to me that your art reminds me of kids books that look like they're made of several paper-shapes put together (having trouble finding a good example). Esp when there's textures over the art. Maybe that's why they give me this kinda childlike nostalgic feeling whenever I look at your art.

akahdksh i actually have considered being a storybook artist esp with my lineless stuff, i dont do it often but my eeveesona looks super cyute and working with vector layers was fun

ik the way i animate textures is from chowder, i liked the way characters would move thru the textures so when i can i try to just use clipping (honestly it's a lot less work for frame by frame stuff anyhow just a few more layers)

i actually need to use more textures, for a while in illustrations i would use photos for texture like my trans umbrella rain illustration the grass is rain hitting concrete. i don't remember why i stopped doing that but it was super fun. i had just finished remaking the trans umbrella beach illustration but i think i might go back and add more texture esp since the background is more painted instead of my usual cartoony style (first time digital painting)

i do actually want to make a stop motion animatic in that made of ripped up construction paper style, for the song Through The Roof 'n' Underground by Gogol Bordello, but it has to wait a while bcuz i don't have anywhere to work (and ive never done something like that)

also you just reminded me i need to put my inspirations in my new portfolio. i like keeping a list of things that i consciously pull from it makes it easier to point and be like "i know where i got that!!"

So that new Feh chapter, huh.

This chapter was just the representation of Chowder's 'And nothing can go wrong- OH NO IT ALL WENT WRONG' clip.

And I know that Instys likely won't kill Veronica, even if that was shown in the mid-book movie. She's popular enough that I doubt they'd do that. Plus I've heard of a theory that Bruno might have given Xander the actual fruit and the one Alf tried to use was fake which if that's the case would be a pretty smart move.

Embla thinks that the fruit was used up so she might not expect it if Xander rolls up with it at the last moment. She may not be able to stop controlling Vero in time and thus she ends up dying instead. At the same time Embla has a counterspell for the fruit and I doubt Bruno had much time to find/make a fake fruit.

if Vero does end up dying then boy would that be an angsty end, especially since we've seen her in all the books, going from an enemy to a reluctant ally to a friend. Like book 5 was already pretty sad with Reginn having her entire life turned upside down in the span of 13 chapters, if things go wrong this has the potential of being much WORSE.

And Alfonse, poor Alfonse. In the last few moments of this chapter we see that he got a new expression and he just... looks so hopeless. There's no light in his eyes, he's looking so solemn. And in that moment he's blaming himself for Bruno's death even if there was nothing he could really do. How could he have known that Embla would have prepared for this?

All I know is that after this book the Askr fam needs a nice long break, Veronica too if she happens to survive this book. I know they'll be thrown into the next big situation, but still.

Oh well, it's September so we all know what that means. Everyone enjoy summoning for Elm or Bruno at the end of the month.

“Greetings, Nunnally. A letter came via familiar from our benefactor several fortnights ago. He has informed me that today is your supposed ‘birthday’ or rather, that’s what’s written in the paperwork anyway. Regardless, I surmised it would be the perfect occasion for me to reward you for once. After all, I would hardly be a suitable master if I only ever disciplined you. Every now and then it’s worth rejoicing one’s existence and achievements in life, yours included. So, sit down and relax for a moment. During some of my earlier outings this week, I decided to purchase some items you might enjoy. Yes, I used that man’s fortune for it, but I consider it more than worthwhile if it’d make you happy.”  

First, the Vampire turned around to retrieve a vase of various lilies, ranging from titanium white to a vivid fuchsia color. Petals blooming outwards as if saluting the matinal sunlight filtering past dark lace curtains to illuminate the room, a testament to their healthy condition to reassure them both the flowers would not wilt in the near future or the weeks to come. A delicate fragrance permeated their surroundings, greeting their noses with the promise of prosperity and abundance to come.

“Somehow, I got an inkling that you might appreciate these flowers. Lilies really suit you in a sense. They signify rebirth, purity, innocence, and devotion, as you might already know,” chuckled Ruki as he set them down beside her on a nearby table to apricate in nourishment. “Be certain to take the utmost care of them. A lily’s lifespan is quite fleeting.”

Next, he took a small box from his pocket and handed it to the girl, a sincere smile plastered upon his visage.

“Go ahead and open it. I realize it’s quite silly to buy something like this for you, but it’s for your rabbit plush. Cut lilies sitting in a vase may soon perish, but this is a clip for one of its ears if you are into lavishing your belongings with extravagant accessories and whatnot. I thought it appeared a bit bare as is, so perhaps this lily might look cute on it.”

After handing her the second gift, the Vampire then teleported to the kitchen momentarily to carry a plate of savory clam chowder with bits of scallop and freshly baked cookies back to the room Nunnally where waited.

“For you. Based on the cookies I showed you how to bake that one time. And soup is one of my favorite foods as you may have guessed from the previous suppers, so I settled on chowder for your special day. Do tell me how it tastes.”

Reaching for an item off one of the coat hangers, Ruki came back with one final gift: a scarf woven with the most deluxe, vibrantly cerise threads, a sheen sported only by the finest satin and other luxurious materials perfect for any esteemed individual to wear with pride.

“Do you remember when you asked me for your opinion on which color you should wear? Well, I believe I told you red looked best. Not only because it reminds me of your blood, but because I genuinely think the color looks beautiful on you, Nunnally. I hope you’ll think of me when you wear it outside.”

Oddly enough, the Vampire showed her a genuine grin the whole time, taking her into his arms for a tight embrace.

“Our time together might’ve not been the most fortuitous for you, but being by your side fills me with more than just a sense of duty towards that man. With each moment I find myself wanting to protect you, Nunnally. To hold you close, to safeguard you, and to see more of the world alongside you." A faint blush dusted his cheeks. "Happy Birthday, even if it is not truly your birthday.”

Nunnally felt humiliated. “Who dared!? Who dared telling Ruki the truth about her? Who dared telling Ruki that she had no birthday and no past!? Why is Ruki coming here to make fun of her?” – she felt her cheeks becoming white and red and her hands curling into fists. Nunnally was so humiliated that she did not feel strong enough to oppose Ruki when he again called himself her Master. Yet, his words were marked with small tears in the edges of her eyes. She only hoped he would not be able to read her true feelings. That he’d confuse them with anything, with anything else.

The girl became even more confused, when Ruki presented her lilies. She expected anything, but not that.

“Are you…? Are you actually giving me flowers, Ruki?” – she asked as if that was not obvious, as if she expected that was some kind of a cruel joke. But when Ruki gave her a box and she found a pin for her rabbit, the tears of humiliation slowly turned into the tears of joy. Nunnally knew Ruki found the purple rabbit far too childish for her, and yet he had actually gotten her an accessory for it.

She did not know what to think about it all. She raised her head from above the clip to meet his eyes only to realize that Ruki disappeared. She did not mind it. Perhaps she even preferred it. She hid her face into the lilies still keeping the box firmly in her hand. She was not thinking about anything specific; her heart and mind being filled with emotions she did not understand.

“I will never understand Ruki. Nor I really want to.” – she whispered quietly only to realize that the Vampire was back with the soup and her favourite cookies. As if that was not enough, he handled her the red scarf, and before she could fully comprehend his words and his deeds, Nunnally found herself in his tight embrace. She knew she should not have allowed it, but she had no will and no strength to fight him. She knew she was weak because she wanted it to last, she wanted to believe Ruki, to accept that he meant the words he had said.

Nunnally hid her face in his chest. She knew she should say something, to thank Ruki for his generosity, but she did not want to speak. Nunnally was convinced that if she broke the silence, it would all finish. And she did not want it to finish. She wanted to prolong this moment for however longer she could.

When she started to talk, she was still in a different time and space, where Nunnally was not Nunnally. Where she was a girl that had a right to be happy. Where she was a girl that could choose. Where she was a girl…

“This is all so beautiful. I Does it mean…does it mean you…”

No, she did not dare to finish the question. Instead, she whispered: “Thank you, thank you Mas—“

She did not finish. She couldn’t say this word. Not now and not ever. After all, she was Nunnally. She was a girl that did not have a right to be happy. She was a girl that could not choose. She was not a girl… She pulled back.

“Forgive me. This is the best birthday I ever had. This is the only birthday I ever had. But being so greedy… I’d like to hear these words again, Ruki. May you please repeat them again for me? Just one more time.“

My Jellystone! Mains

Hello to my true followers and closest friends! Though I wanted bring something new around the tablet after I’ve been into C.H. Greenblatt’s Jellystone!; for bringing back some memories when watching his other works like Cartoon Network’s Chowder and having unexpected changes to the original Hanna-Barbera characters. However, I’m here to bring you this latest art style drawing change like something never been seen before. For the first time ever, I decided to have this for my mains 🐰🖌Maxwell, 🐰👊💥May, and 🦊⚽️Sam front and center! It happens after I’ve been doing my working draft finished back in September. 19th, 2021; thought before doing Riya Speedster’s 8th birthday posting next. Link Here

Nevertheless, it was an alright progress to go along as when making Maxwell, May, and Sam in their “C.H. Greenblatt-ish” style themselves. Though they’re still the same kids remains unchanged, (mostly if their genders were to swapped when that happens, but I’ll let that passed because reasons ^^*) but their looks will be different to compared from their original looks. When in their Jellystone! vibe after entering the world, just imagined when they were in crazy situations whether getting away from Cindy Bear’s gelatin ray blast, Cattanooga Cat’s robotic rampage, or Yogi Bear’s monstrous hunger that could eat the entire town! I got from watching some YouTube clips, by the way. However from what they're doing in poses, our best guess is where they joining the marching sequence from the show's intro; alongside with other characters including Doggie Daddy, Augie Doggie, Shag Rugg, and Jabberjaw when everything all having fun. That is until making a break for it after someone or something crashing a building which causes to tumble another building and the next like as a domino effect....eventually they would be squashed at the intro ends. Taking about making this a comedic timing. I watched this from YouTube as well and its not bad to included Hanna-Barbera characters doing their marching parade in style; whether for comedy purposes like any cartoon shows where everything goes wrong during the show's intro.

Though couldn't help but to feel bad if Maxwell, May, and Sam gonna survive through this. That being said, at least the world of Jellystone would be an alright place to stay when meeting some familiar people who appeared from past Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

Hope if everyone and my friends would gave me likes and reblogs to this latest post I’ve made. Thought It would help me to share his other two siblings in spotlights for a change. Ooooooh I’ve got a great idea, sooga goes to rito village to confront revali, the only other asshole (he’s a much better bitch than CIL) he knows, and tells him about the cil bullying situation, and no rito could possibly resist helping sooga, and revali can be the ONLY asshole in his group of friends so he ain’t having none of it... bassically I want revali to beat cils ass. hope your enjoying your day!

Oooh? An asshole with an asshole. I'm in, let's fucking go.

"Sooga’s here, Sooga’s here!!"

The rito women immediately started to preen themselves, so excited. Revali couldn't help but give himself a look over as well. Sooga was showing up, unannounced? And apparently without Kohga? Either it was business, or pleasure. Either way, Revali stepped out of his house, being met with the sight of the blade master. Big, strong, he was a real heart breaker amongst the rito.

"Sooga! We haven't seen you in such a long time!"

"Oh you've been keeping up the work out routine, haven't you?"

Sooga, as usual, was swimming in rito women. They surrounded him like feral dogs, clearly wanting his attention. Sooga HATED it, Revali could tell, but it was a sight to see. Sooga looked more uncomfortable than usual however, so Revali decided to be a peach, and break it up.

"Ladies, why don't you let the poor thing breathe?"

"But Revali!!!"

They whined, a few clasping onto his arm. Revali shooed them off, shaking his head.

"Quit being harpies, all of you. Why don't you all fetch him a snack instead, maybe something with fish. You like fish, right Sooga?"

Sooga nodded, trying his best to keep polite.

"I do enjoy fish. If it wouldn’t trouble you ladies-"

"Oh not at all! KRISSI YOU BITCH MOVE!"

They damn near trampled each other on their way to their respective cooking pots. Revali chuckled, opening his front door.

"They like you. You should be flattered, rito men would LOVE to have them flocking the way you do."

"I swear they were about to pick me clean, like vultures…"

He stepped inside Revali's abode, allowing himself to sit down and be served a cup of tea. Never snacks. Revali knew he hated eating, especially away from Kohga. Revali took a seat across from him, getting comfy.

"So. You show up here, unannounced. And without Kohga. For what reason?"

"I actually wanted to come see you. It's...something Kohga can't know about."

Revali was listening. Maybe he wasn't too far off in his assumptions. A little secret between  them, away from Kohga. With muscles like that, who could refuse? He nodded, taking a sip of his own drink.

"But of course, Sooga. Just ask for it."

Sooga took a sip, stalling. He wanted those stupid lips, and he wanted them now.

"I'm...not sure how to."

"Sooga, the shyness is endearing, but my time is VERY valuable. So...ask me."

Revali leaned in closer. He smelled mildly of sweat, and holy SHIT he wanted to jump on him right fucking now. Sooga nodded.

"Apologies. You're right. So, I will say it. I'm...struggling with a blade master. Cil. He keeps trying to take MY Kohga from me, keeps making me doubt my relationship with him. I feel as though it's...separating us, and he's...proud like you. I don't detest you as I do him, but I just thought you'd know how to...handle it. In a way."

Not where Revali thought this was going, at ALL. He sat back in his chair, trying to tell his body that his ever increasing boner wasn't needed.

"Are you. Are you saying you're being bullied?"

"It...sounds childish when you put it that way. No, it's...more like, he makes me doubt my work and my love for Kohga. I'm dutiful, and I love my Master, but Cil….gets in my head. I feel like I should...end things with Kohga, if I'm so weak to simple words."

Revali could totally abuse this. Agree with this Cil person, and be Sooga’s shoulder to cry on. But Revali didn't bully for spite. He bullied for the benefit of other’s. Link demanded the most trust from him, and in the process, became a trusted friend in arms. So, despite how much Revali REALLY wanted to suck off Sooga, he did what was right for Sooga.

"Don't be an idiot. Somehow you and Kohga love each other. And this Cil fellow- he's abusing the mushy parts about you to get what he wants. YOU need to remember that Cil isn't some all knowing being-he's manipulative. I want you to go home after this, pick up something special for Kohga, and remember what I told you. Do you understand?"

"....I do. That's, oddly kind of you, Revali."

"Yes yes, I know, I'm a saint really. Don't go telling Link, he'll expect the same treatment."

"If you stop bullying Link, I'll end up bullying YOU."

They both shared a chuckle at that. Them talking shit about Link was one of the things they bonded over. Revali was about to say something specific about Link, when Sooga reached over to hold his hand. Revali felt his feathers fluff up (how embarrassing), just melting under such a big, strong hand.

"Sooga-"

"I just. Thank you. It's...not something that's easy to talk about with other's. They're so kind and they don't understand. It makes the whole situation-"

"Asinine?"

Another chuckle at that. Revali REALLY liked that chuckle of his. He was going to push his luck, maybe try touching something else, when his house was promptly invaded. By eager, loud, rito women, each holding a plate of food.

"Sooga! I'm so sorry I kept you waiting! I brought my seafood curry!"

"Oh don't poison the poor man! Here, try my fish pie!"

"He might as well eat sawdust! Sooga, here, try some clam chowder!"

Sooga sighed, while Revali sat there, chuckling. Sooga didn't deserve all the pestering he got. The women's attention, Revali couldn't help. But he knew one thing he COULD do.

"Have a good one Cil! Try not to glare some poor soul to death!"

"And you, try not to catch a disease."

Von laughed at the retort, pulling his fellow blade master aside for a steamy, drunken, sloppy make out session. Cil had made the mistake of joining Von for drinks, and had a pretty awful time. Drinks were shitty, expensive, and all Von did the whole time was stick his hand in between several pairs of legs. Cil decided a walk home in the cold night air would do him some good.

"So YOU’RE Cil."

Cil stood still upon hearing the voice, as well as the crunch of leaves, slowly growing louder and louder. He slowly turned, just in time to see his sudden visitor. Revali, champion of the rito. Arguably the best archer of his kind. Had to be, to make up for that short stature.

"Take it you've been looking for me?"

"Yes, actually. You see, to put it bluntly, I hate how you've been treating a friend of mine."

"You wouldn't be the first. I also don't care."

Cil was already bored. He tried to turn around and walk off, when he stopped, feeling something breeze past his head. An arrow, now buried into the tree in front of him. He turned around, looking at that angry face, and the now drawn bow.

"I think it's time you start caring. I want you to stop it. And I'm being nice, asking you politely. Don't make me act uncouth."

"Unfortunate. Us Yiga don't care for manners, not towards our assailants."

They stared each other down for a moment, before Cil rushed him, blade drawn. Revali dodged, barely able to avoid being sliced, unlike the tree next to him. Revali fired, only to be forced to hide behind another tree, Cil somehow deflecting it with his drawn blade. Cil cracked his neck, slowly approaching Revali's hiding spot. This was way better than just some walk.

"Come now, little birdy. I'll clip your wings quickly if you come out now, rather than later. If you make me wait...I'll make these woods sing with your screams."

Revali turned quickly, firing his arrow. He aimed not for his shoulder or even his head. Instead, he aimed for his hands. The weapon fell as the arrow struck, but before Cil could reach for his weapon, Revali pointed the tip of the arrow at his forehead.

"You can save yourself the trouble. Leave. Sooga. Alone."

"Ah...he's your little buddy, huh? He's not even asking you to do this,"

Cil lifted his hands up in defeat, slowly walking backwards as Revali kept stepping forward, right until his back was against a tree.

"How both you AND Master Kohga care for him so much...I'll never know. But I DO know...that it is a mistake you will both pay for."

He quickly grabbed the arrow from the tree behind him, and jabbed it into Revali's shoulder. Revali was about to just bear it and retaliate, before Cil used his body to push him to the ground. It knocked the bow out of his hands, and Revali was on the forest floor, with Cil wrapping his hands around his throat, and squeezing. Revali flailed, trying to do ANYTHING to be free. He couldn't breathe. Couldn't think.

"I'm sorry Sooga was your demise. I pity you. I-"

He didn't get to finish as Revali managed to lift himself up a hit, and swipe his talons at him. It hit right at his face, not just scratching his features, but peeling off his mask. Revali leapt up, grabbing the mask and holding it tightly to his chest. Cil sat there, covering his bleeding face with both of his hands.

"GIVE IT BACK. YOU DO N O T DESERVE TO SEE MY FACE!"

Revali glared at him, meeting his eyes through his fingers.

"If you'll back off Sooga, I'll give it back."

"He is a MUTT-"

"I'll tell EVERYONE I saw your face."

"They won't believe you."

"Rumors are powerful. Many would LOVE to make people think its real, just to humiliate you. Care to risk it?"

Cil hesitated. But when Revali's claws started to glide down the wood, he was convinced.

"OKAY OKAY! JUST. GIVE ME THE MASK, AND WE'LL CALL IT TRUCE."

Revali had no idea these masks were such a huge fucking deal. Whatever. He tossed the mask in his direction, watching Cil frantically put it back on, smearing the blood on his mask. Revali picked his bow off the floor, putting it back into its holster.

"You yigas better keep your word."

Revali was in the skies in just a second, headed right for Zora's domain. He stopped at Mipha’s window, giving it a knock. She opened her window, immediately looking worried as she saw the state he was in.

"Revali! What happened, you poor thing?!"

"I was...helping a friend. Suppose you don't mind doing the same for me?"

Was this a stupid decision? Yes. Like Link level stupid. But...Revali didn't at all regret it. Not for Sooga.

I didn't think too much of it & clicked on it. Most clips were cropped from their original 4:9 aspect ratio to the modern, 16:9 widescreen. I didn't care much until the last clip, from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy Season 6 Episode 11A: "El Dia de los Muertos"

First, a mini history lesson on TGAOBAM & Aspect Ratio:

In it's first 5 seasons from 2003-2006, The show was produced in a 4:3 aspect ratio at a resolution of 480i. With the advent of HDTVs in 1998, most channels (worldwide) had fully moved to making all their programs in High-Definition (1080p HD) & Widescreen by mid-2005 (Nickelodeon didn't have any Widescreen animation until 2009) while North American & Asian feeds (still mostly being in SD despite making shows in HD) would simply crop the shows from the modern 16:9, to the more standard at the time, 4:3.

Before Season 6 of Billy & Mandy, there was a movie in 2007 called "Billy & Mandy's Big Boogie Adventure". It was the first of many things for the franchise. The main thing here is, it was the first piece of TGAOBAM media to be made in High-Definition (16:9 Widescreen & 1080p HD). It was also released on DVD with 2 Apsect Ratios options (4:3 for Old TV's, labeled as "Full Screen" & The native 16:9 version labeled as, "Widescreen". Downscaled to 480p because it's a DVD). Later, Season 6 of Billy & Mandy premiered & just like Big Boogie Adventure, was made in High-Definition (16:9 Widescreen & 1080p HD) & cropped to 4:3 for TV Airings. No one knew Season 6 was Widescreen until Cartoon Network HD (UK only) started Airing it uncropped around, 2010-2012. Then, when CN UK & CN South Africa started uploading clips to their respective YouTube channels, they were also in Widescreen. Bringing minor international attention to this. From that time onward, the only way to watch Widescreen Billy and Mandy was from DVR recorded UK Airings (which were sped up, pitched up, & had a pretty big CNHD Screenbug at the top right).

When it was announced that on January 1st, 2021, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy would be added to HBO Max in the USA, fans (including myself) were EXTATIC! When the moment came, I started binging Season 1. First, I noticed that the season 1 episodes were listed out of order. No biggie. Then, in the middle of watching Season 2, I thought about Season 6's aspect ratio. TIP: One way to tell if a Season 6 episode is in Widescreen is, The Widescreen Masters have the original intro (which was made in 4:3) cropped to 16:9 & letterbox to fit in 4:3 (Stupid, I know.). I looked it up & clicked on the first Season 6 episode only to discover a horrific sight! With the exception of Wrath of the Spider Queen Part 2, Season 6 used the CROPPED 4:3 MASTERS on HBO Max!

In a fit of Rage I abandoned the show & started watching Chowder. When my HBO Max Trial expired, I did NOT renew & called it a "Boycott"! (It probably isn't) Lesson Over!

Anyway, the clip in the video (which isn't Wrath of the Spider Queen) was in UN-CROPPED HIGH DEFINITION! HD, Widescreen! So, it's not just CN losing the NTSC Widescreen Masters (which is what I assumed) but rather, seemingly, HBO Max & CN just don't wanna give it to us! They hate me, they hate YOU, They hate ALL OF US!

Unless, They just added the Widescreen masters to HBO Max in the 6 months that abandoned HBO Max! If you have HBO Max & TGAOBAM Season 6 is in Widecreen, Let me know but until then, the boycott continues. This is why I usually only post about Sonic & Nickelodeon All Star Brawl!
