Modern!Human Hantengu Brothers headcanons

Heeeyyyy babiesss!!! I’m sorry it’s so late but I FINALLY GOT MY HANTENGU BROTHERS HEADCANONS DONE 🥹🥹!! I sincerely hope y’all enjoy them!

Alright so, The headcanon came from the roots in the manga. Hantengu (the demon) was known to have multiple wives and children and he killed every last one of them. After Muzan’s defeat & Hantengu was reborn, he sadly abandoned his wife and his two children because he still had his memories from his past life and felt guilt & fear. His son grew a bit of resentment for him and promised that when he became a father that he would be there for his children through and through. He met the Brothers’ mother because she was visiting Japan from Nigeria and fell absolutely head over heels in love with her. They soon started dating after getting to know each other. Then married later on and their first born son, Sekido was born, then came Karaku, Aizetsu, Urogi , & Zohakuten.

Their Mother, Dr. Kehinde Adeyinka- Hantengu is a OBGYN & their father Urami Hantengu is a co director for a very big movie production company. ( my boys came from riches but still humble )

Their parents come from different cultures so they always brought them up in a way where they were exposed to both equally. They know Japanese (that does include how to write in Japanese too), Yoruba, Nigerian Pidgin, English, and Swahili.

SEKIDO

• Much like his past life, Sekido still remains the oldest. His birthday is September 3rd, 1995 making our angery baby a Virgo ♍️.

• When I tell yall he is nonchalantttt!! Whew! He literally says the first thing that comes on his mind. His mom always told him that he was like his father in that regard.

• Also much like his past life, he always looks angered (Resting bitch face go brrrrrrr) Most people are kinda afraid to approach him.

• Definitely gets annoyed by his brothers antics (mostly Urogi and Karaku playing pranks on him and pissing him off and Aizetsu constantly second guessing himself)

• Loves the rain and finds it peaceful when it’s thundering outside.. it sets the mood when he’s by himself playing the piano (one of his hidden talents)

• He works as a Auto mechanic at his own shop. (which explains how he knows to keep his cars in perfect condition)

• He is most DEFINITELY a cat person. He has a Black Maine coon mix named Zeus. He found him just laying on top of one of his cars one day as he was getting ready to go get groceries and when he came back from the store, he was sitting in front of his apartment and he started growing fond of him and took him in. Zeus is spoiled rotten so I can only imagine when Sekido gets a partner 🫠.

• Is a greeeeeaaaaattttt cook! Other than their mother, his brothers usually latch on to his place when he does cook. (He definitely has a special apron on when he cooks too) He learned from his momma 🤩

• Has a giant dragon tattoo on his back that was drawn by Zohakuten and tattooed by Managi (Modern Human Gyokko. In my headcanon, he’s a famous Tattoo artist that grew fame from TikTok)

�� Definitely is a Heavy sleeper but don’t let that MF Fan Turn off. He gonna wake up PISSED.

• Academically speaking, Sekido is extremely intelligent. He graduated top of his class in High school & has a degree in Engineering (he also graduated top of his class in college too)

• BLACK COFFEE ADDICT! Can’t stand overly sweet coffee or sweet ANYTHING. Likes really savory foods! Lots of meat but not too too much. Also loves vegetables, stews, curry’s, and etc. The only thing he can tolerate that relates to sweet foods is dark chocolate.

• Definitely the type to go to bed by 10 pm (grumpy old man 😂😂)

• LISTEN! My baby is BUILTTTTTTT. He definitely hits the gym after work He’ll OCCASIONALLY go with Karaku if he doesn’t have to work. He’s also tall (he’s 6’3 1/2 and the tallest out of the brothers)

• He adores his family and anyone he deems close although he does get annoyed with their shenanigans he will always and forever care.

• y’all know that bath & body works scent “ Mahogany Teakwood” yeah, literally smells like that plus Shea butter & mint.

KARAKU

• Karaku is the second Born like his past carnation. He was born on October 4, 1996 making him a Libra baby.

• He’s literally a big kid at heart but he’s really chill and down to earth.

• Much like his past life he’s really playful and loves a good thrill. It makes his blood pump lol.

• Loves teasing his brothers (mostly Sekido and Aizetsu) One time he played a prank on Sekido while he was asleep by putting a realistic looking robotic spider on him (poor Seki has arachnophobia 🥲) & when he woke up all hell broke loose and when he finally caught Karaku, he put him in a chokehold and it took Urogi and Aizetsu to get him off of Karaku. 😂😂😂 and you’d think after that he’d learn his lesson (he didn’t)

• He works as a Bartending Manager for a big club and always makes good money in tips because one he loves serving the drinks and seeing people’s reaction to his drinks and they all love him dearly.

• Speaking of, he Is a masttttterrrrr at creating drink recipes and has a miniature bar at his place. He’s also a fairly decent cook but still annoys Sekido because he likes his better 😂.

• Like I’ve said before, mans is a seriously talented dancer & he effortlessly woos people with his moves ever since he went viral online & has a lots of fans (no pun intended).

• He also posts videos of him making drinks on TikTok too and always picks the best songs but people mostly like when he does voice overs of what he puts in drinks.

• He also does Twitch streams from time to time playing games( likes games like FNAF, Dead by Daylight, or any kind of scary games.)

• I also headcanon that he loves Halloween mostly because it’s during his birth month.

• Has one tattoo on his arm of his moms first name. His mom always told him that he reminds her of herself back in her youth.

• Loves all animals but is more so a Dog person.

• HE DOES SMOKE WEED & VAPE!

• Academically he made A’s & B’s in high school so he is quite smart but still goofed off in class though 😂. He has a Bachelors Degree in Communications and is also apart of a Fraternity.

• DEFINITELY A GYM BRO BUT NOT THE TOXIC KIND. Takes his physical health and physique seriously but never ever talks bad about how anyone else chooses to do with their body. If they are happy, he is as well. He’s definitely not a bodyshamer & will put someone in check if they talk bad about someone around him.

• HES A LIGHT SLEEPER. Any little sound will wake him up instantly. One time he came home from work so tired that he forgot that he connected his phone to his big bluetooth speaker while he took a shower & also forgot that he set an alarm to wake him up in the morning for the gym and damn near had a heart attack when his alarm went off. 🥲

• Loves energy drinks and coffee but knows his limits on his intake and that too much caffeine isn’t good. DEFINITELY MEAL PREPS! Has meats, vegetables, and fruits.

• Like I Said, he takes his personal physical seriously. He has a skin care routine and he also smells really good too .. it’s like a Citrusy and warm vanilla type scent mixed with hints of his favorite cologne.

• He’s also fairly tall too standing at about 6’2

• He’s heavily into zodiac signs and reads his horoscope on the daily! Got the rest of his brothers into it. Sekido & Zoha thought it was stupid until they both did some research and it started singling out their individual character traits & that’s what sparked their interests in it.

• He’s a lover at heart so anybody that he loves he has them near and dear to his heart. If he loves you then you’re a 4LIFERRRRR.

AIZETSU

• So he’s the middle child! His Birthday is February 20, 1998 making Zetsy a Pisces baby!

• Much like his past incarnation he’s quiet & monotone if he’s not comfortable around you but once he is comfortable he becomes relaxed and more expressive. Is very introverted.

• He was kind of bullied in school due to his quiet and timid behavior but when asked his opinion on something, much like his older brother Sekido he wouldn’t hold back the truth (it’s always the quiet ones)

• I would like to think that Aizetsu is heavily into meditation because it calms his anxiety and his nerves.

• PLEASE GIVE THIS BABY WORDS OF AFFIRMATION AND REASSURANCE!

• Aizetsu works as a computer tech and is very good with technology. He’s been very tech savvy since he was a kid always learning how it functions and knowing the ins and outs of it. He also works part time as a Lyft driver.

• His hidden talent is singing! Like I said in my last post, Aizetsu is a hellllaaaa talented singer but he only does so in private but if he sings around someone that means he’s comfortable with them.

• He’s into Zodiac signs thanks to Karaku. He’s a water sign (Team waterrrr) so he’s really good at seeing through people and strays away from those who he determines to be not good people.

• Doesn’t really go to the gym. He thinks it’s way too many people. Instead he finds alternatives at home and he was blessed with a high metabolism too so that’s a W for him. But don’t let that fool you, under what he covers up, he’s still buff. He is about 6’2, same height as Karaku.

• Made excellent grades in school. Mostly all As and graduated top of his class like his brother. He is currently in college pursuing software engineering and is still doing excellent academically!

• Is a good cook at best. Only sticks to simple stuff and doesn’t really like to go all out. Not particular about food but in the same breath, he does lean towards savory foods.

• Doesn’t have any tattoos but low key wants a treble clef tattoo on his chest or something small.

• Has a pet Bearded dragon named Toothless.

• Smells really good! I think he would smell like Cinnamon. Skin does get irritated during the summer time but it’s not severe. Does get tips from Karaku about skin care.

• Is much more of a tea kind of person and loves herbal tea (chamomile is his favorite)

• Not really much of a sweets kind of person.

• IS A VERY LIGHT SLEEPER. Imagine Karaku x10!! Will wake up if he hears the smallest sound or if the temperature is not to his liking (he keeps his place on 64 degrees AT ALL TIMES).

• Aizetsu is a very gentle, understanding, sweet, and thoughtful person and he has times where he second guesses himself but he definitely has a good crowd of people around him to keep his head held high.

UROGI

• Like his past incarnation he’s the second to last born. His Birthday is January 4th, 1999 ( he’s only 11 months younger than Aizetsu)

• He is most DEFINITELY a wild child lmao! He’s like Karaku x3000 when it comes to getting a thrill out of doing some shit. As a child he used to like to jump off of crazy shit and oddly would not get hurt 😅

• Has always been hella adventurous since he was a young lad. Always loved being outdoors and being in nature and still does in his adulthood. Likes going hiking & climbing. He feels at peace outdoors.

• He once climbed a whole fucking billboard and sat there for like 10 minutes ( Karaku and one of their cousins has a recording of him climbing it)

• Not only is he super flexible and athletic but he’s also very musically inclined too. His singing voice is on par with Aizetsu and he can read and write music (to an extent).

• Urogi works at the same bar as Karaku (Yes they work together) literally trouble but make it double 😂😂. Much to anyone’s surprise they don’t cause THAT much chaos. If Karaku is thing one then Urogi is thing two!

• He also loves coming up with different type of recipes and they are all a hit. Him and Karaku compete to see whose drinks are the best at work but it’s all brotherly competition and never any hard feelings.

• Heavily into gymnastics too & have been since he was little! So you know he keeps his body in great condition and goes to the gym everyday! He is about 6’1 1/2.

• Academically he made a mixture of A’s, B’s, and some C’s. Never went below a C. Is very smart but is whole ass class clown. It only took one time for his parents to get onto him and he never caused any significant distractions again lmao. Did not want to attend college but chose to follow what he felt was good for him. At first his parents were a little mad but they let Urogi decide what was best for him and supported whatever he decided (WE LOVE GOOD NON TOXIC PARENTING 🥹).

• Can cook but absolutely hates doing it. Prefers takeout instead and only cooks when he is in the mood to do so.

• Very much a HEAVY ASS SLEEPER & SNORES. Can probably sleep through a loud ass storm.

• Smells very earthy but not in a bad way. Like a combination of Pine and Sandalwood. (His favorite body wash is Dove Sandalwood for its earthy tone) Has seasonal breakouts but worst during winter (poor baby)

• He definitely smokes weed but by himself or with Karaku.

• His weakness: HE LOVES SWEETS & JUNK FOOD. Mans can literally eat a XL pizza by himself.

• Urogi is all together a very friendly, eclectic, and outgoing person and everyone can’t help but love him (even though he sometimes drives them crazy) 😂

ZOHAKUTEN

• He’s the last born baby of the brothers! He was born July 21st, 2007 so he is a Cancer baby!

• Like Sekido and Aizetsu, Zohakuten is a rather quiet, reserved person. But he is hellllaaaaa blunt. Zohakuten’s tone may come off a bit direct and blunt and a little harsh but I think he means well. (Sometimes)

• INTROVERTED.

• Also like his brother, he DEFINITELY has a resting bitch face and is his dads literally mini me.

• He is very much into art and loves graphic design. He’s also a very skilled digital artist as well.

• As a matter of fact, he drew the dragon design that Sekido has tattooed on his back for his birthday last year.

• He is still in high school and is very close to his senior year!! He makes excellent grades in school with straight A’s and has always.

• He is also a band student too! He plays the snare drums.

• After Highschool he does hope to help his dad out at the studio and work to save up for college. He wants to pursue a career in art.

• Since he still lives at home of course he gets spoiled by his parents but I don’t see him being the petty type like rubbing it in his brothers faces. Hell they be spoiling him too.

• He hits the gym with his brothers when they go. It’s like part of a bonding experience.

• He is about 5’9 ( his mom thinks that he’s on the brink of a major growth spurt.) For more context, their mom is 5’11 (momma a stallionnnn) and their dad is 6’7.

• HE HATES SWEETS! Prefers spicy foods though! Literally will go through a family sized bag of hot chips in 30 minutes and nobody knows how. (Not even me.) 😂😂😂.

• HEAVY ASS SLEEPER! That’s it that’s the post.

• Is willing to learn how to cook but only trusts his mother or Sekido to teach him.

• Karaku got him into zodiac signs too. He didn’t understand the concept at first until he read further and started seeing his attitude traits in what he read on Cancers.

• Not a people person but it is not as bad as his past incarnation where he bathed in hatred. Is willing to make some changes to his attitude and approach especially pursuing a career that deals with customers commissioning him for his arts but PLEASE do not piss him off or rush his work.

• He may not show it but he lovvvveesssss and adores his family!

I genuinely hope you all enjoyed my headcanons. I had been putting it off and putting it off and making revisions but I think that I love my headcanons for them. There are of course some more to come though so keep your eyes peeled. I will eventually start writing for more fandoms but I gotta let this Hantengu clone brainrot out somehow lmao.

So, ive recently gotten back into Protocreed and a what if..? idea i had was:

After Abstergo recovers Desmonds body, they experiment with his DNA and Blacklight. Resulting in him being revived after an outbreak and breaking free.

It could even be the assassins fault that the outbreak happened!

In the midst of the chaos, no one noticed the body dissapearing. It's only after the outbreak was contained and culled that Subject 17 was noted as missing. With all the footage being destroyed it is impossible to tell what happened to it, but the general consensis is that one of the infected ate it. It is a crushing blow to their research, but thankfully they have plenty of samples stored in a different facility, so all hope is not lost. No one thought of the possibilty that a repeat of Alex Mercer's revival could happen. Subject 17 has been dead for months, the body is simply too old. So no one thought too look in the shadows of the city, where something lay lurking. Tracking. Hunting.

Hungering

So I have a ProtoCreed idea similar to this that I posted here.

The comments/replies have more details on how it would go but, in a nutshell, Blacklight is a failed/abandoned Isu project headed by Tinia (so we can have a little hehe moment with Alex being called ‘Zeus’) and Dr Mercer is not a Templar but he’s still a piece of work.

And Desmond’s Isu to human genes ratio + his Bleeding Effect screwed up the virus that he still has the superhuman feats that Alex has but he can’t morph his body to have weapons or anything like that.

Instead…

It’s like he can spawn three specific humanoid figures made of the black and red writhing flesh which only has one specific goal: keep Desmond safe.

There’s more details in the link above but the main point is that Desmond’s virus makes him be able to ‘summon’ his ancestors who holds a piece of Alex’s OG abilities and it’s unclear if they are mindless or if their connection with Desmond keeps them docile because when Abstergo try to cut their connection (which are tendrils of red and black connecting the creatures to Desmond’s shadow), the creature goes berserk and attacks and devours everything around until Desmond reconnects with it.

So we have:

Altaïr = Blade

Ezio = Hammerfist

Ratonhnhaké:ton = Whipfist

Ezio gets Hammerfist because the sword of Altaïr is iconic so Altaïr gets the Blade and Ratonhnhaké:ton had the ropedart so he gets the Whipfist. XD

Although, in my original idea, Desmond keeps his memories (thanks to the Bleeding Effect) but if you want to go down the route of Desmond being ‘incubated’ by the virus during the story of Prototype and waking up afterwards, we can easily do that and the incubation period is actually what corrupted Desmond’s mind.

So in this situation, Desmond would be more like ‘Eve’ from Parasite Eve, the new origin of an outbreak (and everyone believes it’s Alex’s fault which will lead us to a modified setup for Prototype 2 and Alex and Desmond having an antagonistic start).

But the outbreak is strange because it seemed… targeted.

The ones to be hit first were Abstergo facilities or facilities under Abstergo’s shell companies.

And the spread only began when these facilities had fallen and the barricades have been breached, like… it wasn’t truly intentional but more of a ‘side effect’.

So now we have Alex trying to figure out what this new outbreak is because the ‘children’ for this one are faster and more cunning, using their surrounding to hide and wait. And these children seemed to be taking orders from three creatures made of darkness and blood.

(Or, if you want to preserve the Assassin white and red color scheme, it’s gonna be grosser with them being filled with pus and blood instead. The pus could be a sign that the virus is being combated by Desmond’s Isu genes though and that could be a clue for Alex)

And any time Alex tries to eat any of them, he only gains snippets of the memories of the same person: a man named Desmond Miles.

The three commander creatures also seemed to travel via shadows, being able to melt into the shadows before Alex could ever destroy them completely.

Later, he would realize that the whole city (whichever city we’re planning to set this on) are filled with what looked like lines all over (maybe one would say that maybe it’s the ley lines or something and Alex would say that it looks more like… veins…) and these veins are actually how the commanders travel all over the city.

At the center of the veins is a cocoon…

TL;DR: All the supposed „versions” people bring up when discussing how Aphrodite ended up married to Hephaistos in the context of the story of his revenge on Hera are conjectures made by modern scholars rather than being attested in any ancient Greek sources. We simply don't know anything substantial about that detail of the myth, full stop, and it's time people accept that instead of arguing about which variant is more correct.

What's the deal with inspector and doc?

Ok I've seen this question a bit ago but got so nervous to answer it because Inspector and Doc are. fucking crazy. BUT I'M LESS OF A PUSSY NOW SO

So, Inspector's whole deal is he obviously hates the cycle. His main goal at this point is figuring a way out of it. Doc praises the cycle instead. He thinks of it as a blessing. These two contradicting ideologies are clearly a bad mix when you put them in a room together. Delving a bit deeper into this, Doc is apart of the only crew that got away from Inspector- the only one that he wasn't able to tear apart from the inside out- and it was all because of Doc.

As the two meet, their simple arguments and small bickering become gruesome quickly. This is only from Inspector's side. Doc genuinely gets under his skin so fucking badly that he easily lashes out at him and it becomes a physical altercation. Doc.. is oddly fine with this. In fact, he gets a thrill out of it and explains to him at some point that Inspector killing him feels.. different. This further infuriates Inspector, as Doc explains their situation as mutually beneficial. Inspector keeps on constantly denying that he's also getting something out of this, killing Doc over and over, multiple times, putting him through the same pain he went through for over a decade at this crummy company- but the truth will come out of him eventually.

This is a VERY basic rundown on their dynamic, there's sprinkles of homoerotic tension but I ain't going into that rn . Wes or Rurik, if you see this and I got even the slightest thing wrong, please feel free to strike me down with the power of zeus I'm typing this tired af rn

The doctor ignored the concern in his subconscious towards Clef and finished drawing with the blood. The Hanged King stepped closer to the circle and the mere touch of his fingers activated the portal, blood glowing brightly. Louis extended his hand to Clef to take it and enter the golden circle, he accepted and approached him. The Lords, The King, and The Ambassador watched as their bodies faded into the glow.

Contrary to popular belief, the Olympus was not made of clouds and marble, full of ecstasy and joy; It rather was a depressing corporate landscape, large gray buildings invaded the view along with large red signs that read "OBEDIRE, SUCCEDERE."; And to make it worse, they wore both faces of Dýo. It seemed to have huge bites from which it secreted more golden blood. They both approached the corpse and could see that it was still breathing, his hollow eyes imploring an end to his suffering.

—Help me please...– Zeus's last words froze their souls, watching as the blood ran throughout his body to abandon any trace of life.

Alto Clef looked terrified at the doctor, who was looking at the top of the building from where Zeus had fallen. The blond followed the french's gaze, only to find a feathered beast with three heads.

—What a pleasant surprise.– Three voices said at the same time. —The traitor and his new toy.—

The beast wore Dýo on its forehead, while the other two heads had masks similar to him with slight flaws. The creature lowered itself from its throne to the ground, breaking the stone beneath its feet, landing right on top of the corpse to finish its destruction. Splashes of golden blood marked their bodies.

—Dr. Clef! Are you enjoying the company of mon chéri?

Dýo's new body had the shape of a dog covered in scales and feathers, the same as those SCP-049-J possessed. Part of its skeleton was exposed, mainly its ribs and claws, accompanied by a long snake-like tail.

—How daring of you to call me that at this moment, Polonoí.

—Huh... now you demand my respect? After leaving me?

—Leave you? You controlled me to make me a part of this... chaotic plan of yours. Do you at least know what you want with this, Dýo?

While the couple argued, Clef noticed that around him were thousands of corpses wearing masks, all the same as Dýo's. The more they argued, the more he noticed that the bodies were moving, at that moment, Clef felt his heart sink.

—He's controlling the corpses...– He whispered holding the trigger of his gun. —HE IS CONTROLLING THE GOD-DAMN CORPSES!–

Clef's scream distracted Louis who was lashed with brute force by the beast's claws and shot away from the scene. The blond reacted quickly but was stopped by the possessed corpses, which laughed at the same time as Dýo. He loaded his gun and started shooting them one by one in the head, destroying their masks in the process. Louis fell hard to the ground, being immobilized by the beast, who looked at him furiously. He tried to escape his grip but it was inhumanly strong, his body wallowing under his weight even if it was useless.

—Filthy, lying snake, look what you've done!–

—You were always my prey, you were always inferior, weak.– His voice became harsh, the corpses repeated the same words as him. —You are dependent on me, you need me...–

The doctor took the opportunity to grab a rock from the ground and stuck it between the beast's joints, which roared in pain and freed the doctor. Louis dug up a spear lying next to the corpse of an armored man, the spear was heavy and had inscriptions in some root dialect. He didn't have time to try to decipher the text because Dýo had regenerated his bone structure and was heading directly to Louis.

He spinned the spear with ease and impaled it to the ground, challenging Dýo to a duel. The God laughed at his threat but he didn't underestimate him, they had fought before for less important reasons and he still knew he was strong enough if he put his mind to it. The beast hissed and ran towards the french, who aimed his spear right at the beast's heart to tear it open; He knew this wouldn't have much of an effect on the God, but it would give him and Clef time to plan something.

Doctor Clef had noticed that all the corpses he had been killing belonged to the mythological Gods he knew, and the fact that they were being controlled by Dýo was even more dangerous. His weapon had run out of ammo so now he was fighting bare-knuckles against gods and demigods. While fighting he could hear what Dýo was saying to Louis.

—I found you when you were little, insignificant...– The Goddess Demeter said. —Without me, you would be nothing.– Clef grabbed the Goddess's head and impaled her on his knee, breaking her mask and unfortunately killing her in the process.

His stamina was starting to run out, but hearing Dýo say such disgusting things to Louis made him furious; He kept fighting the corpses, until one of them grabbed him by the chest and hit him on the ribs, but he couldn't feel his body fall to the ground, he had been transported to Earth again. Rather, to the Moon.

—Dammit not again!

Getting back with Louis; This one continued tearing the skin of the beast so that it would regenerate again. He had managed to break the two masks that were on the other two heads, but what he needed was to break Dýo's mask.

—Why do you say such awful things, Dýo!?— He yelled. —This was your plan since we met, to use me as a transport for your delusions!?

—Don't be naive, Nicéphore, I loved you, I really loved you.– He growled as he dug one of his claws into the doctor's thigh, making him cry out in pain at that. —But we don't have the same goals, and you'd just be a nuisance.–

—You promised me so much... You dedicated a thousand poems and sunsets to me. You deceived me, just like a snake would... And now you deign to justify yourself...– Dýo broke Louis' mask to expose his bleeding face, almost pitch black from his illness. —Look at yourself now... who would love someone like you...

—...My Lord?

That was his breaking point. That was how the claws snatched his heart, to leave it under the cloudy sky, bleeding before his God.

Personality- Before his punishment, he dedicated all of himself to be in the service of others, helping people back to health. He has a great mind to the knowledge of science & medicine, always being tenacious and obsessive. Now not being "The Doctor of Olympius", he's going through a bit of an identity crisis, becoming reclusive & angry, taking out his frustrations on those he loves the most.

He is currently going through his divine punishment, ordered by Zeus under the discussions he had with Hades and Thanatos. Asclepius almost single-handedly bankrupted and ended the Underworld, by accidentally raising the dead. The terms of his punishment included being stripped of his divine abilities (not his immortality & medical omniscience) and being barred from practicing all forms of medicine as a licensed doctor. Most of his hospitals & medical school (The Coronides School of Medicine) were subsequently shut down and destroyed. Asclepius was also the author of several medical textbooks.

As the former god of medicine, he had a wide array of powers and abilities. They include medicine mimicry, vitakinesis (healing), immukinesis (immune system manipulation), condition restoration, X-ray vision, haemokinesis (blood manipulation), cytokinesis (cell manipulation), gene splicing, herb manipulation, fármakokinesis (drug manipulation), hormone manipulation, lymph manipulation, and being able to telekinetically control & summon medical tools and equipment.

Notable physical features include his long red hair, tall skinny frame, and long scruffy beard.

Asclepius is currently legally separated from his wife Epione (goddess of soothing pain), after an embarrassing outburst against his youngest daughter's health teacher during a science fair. He's been renting a cottage in the Hearthwood neighborhood in New Olympus, his symbolic rod being in storage. They have five children‐ Iaso (goddess of cures & remedies), Hygieia (goddess of hygiene & cleanliness), Panacea (goddess of universal remedy), Telesphorus (Rusty) (god of rehabilitation), and Aceso (goddess of healing).

Another member of Asclepius' immediate family is his younger sister Aegle (goddess of good health). He generally finds her positive disposition to be annoying, but even he can't deny how supportive she's been of him ever since his punishment and the separation. Aegle is a common visitor to his cottage.

Before his punishment, he was the one of the most beloved gods in the pantheon. His patients always sang their praises for Asclepius, saying that he treated each one of them with respect & genuine care. Some of his former medical students- like the brothers Machaon and Podalirius, marveled at his knowledge & intelligence. Now, Asclepius spends most of his days indoors, unable to be out in public after the news of him verbally attacking his daughter's teacher made the rounds. It was Asclepius who made the groundbreaking discovery of the potential healing properties of gorgon's blood. He considers this to be the greatest achievement of his immortal career!

He loves snacking on mint candy.

Asclepius is fluent in all the languages spoken in Olympius.

His go-to drink is "nature's choice" aka, water. He also doesn't mind coconut water & his homemade green apple-wheatgrass smoothies. He also indulges in coffee (added in almond milk creamer) & wine every once in a while.

Asclepius didn't really care about the "famous" aspect of being a well known and respected deity. The good health of his patients was reward enough. That didn't stop a docu series made by the production company of Clymene (Titaness of fame & renown) called To Prógramma Zotikótitas to be released well before his punishment. The 10 episode series followed Asclepius through a hectic year of his medical career.

His favorite sweet treats include fruit salad, carrot orange sorbet, his sister's peanut butter & banana soymilk ice cream, and oatmeal banana cookies (often made & brought over by Aceso).

Asclepius wasn't really involved with his eldest children when they were growing up, spending most of his time at the hospital and medical school. He has a much greater role (though not much) with his youngest children.

In the pantheon, his feelings for Zeus (god of the sky, thunder, & lightning), Thanatos (god of death), and Hades (god of the dead) are no secret. Asclepius also used to be friends with Harpocrates (god of silence & discretion), but they haven't spoken since his punishment. There are also misplaced feelings of envy & anger he has towards his former friend/associate, Paean (goddess of physicians). Asclepius was the official mentor to Nosos (god of illness, plague, & disease). They often commiserate together.

For an anniversary gift, Asclepius was gifted with a pair of platinum snake shaped cufflinks from his wife.

He has snakes as pets, a lot of them. It makes sense seeing how they are Asclepius' symbolic & divine animal. It all started a bit after his punishment sentence where his wife brought up the subject of comfort animals. She even set up a room, solely for his slithering pets. The true number of them are unknown & he has many species of snakes, his favorite being his smooth green snake named Gus.

Asclepius loves his "I'm Sugar Free" novelty T-shirt gifted to him by his sister.

Most of his days are spent tending to his snakes, reading, having scheduled visitations with his youngest children, yoga, gardening, meditating, and checking out his wife's Fatestagram account. He usually waits till nightfall to go out for a run or a swim in a nearby creek.

His favorite meal is quinoa with grilled skinless chicken breasts, sweet potatoes, & asparagus (drizzled with lemon dressing). He also likes slow cooker collard & cabbage soup- loaded with spices! Asclepius especially likes it when one of his kids brings over his wife's famous homemade chicken noodle soup!

I sighed as Zeus’s storm raged, trying to mentally block it out. Normally I found the sound of thunderstorms relaxing but not when it was past midnight and I was hoping to get some sleep. I figured that I probably would not be falling asleep anytime soon given the storm and the fact that I had thought it was a good idea to drink an entire bottle of Dr Pepper only a few hours before going to bed. It was a hot night and I was starting to get kind of thirsty again so I decided to go get myself a glass of water.

I grabbed my Grogu plush, turned on my phone’s flashlight and made my way towards the kitchen, shining the light in front of me. Once I reached the kitchen I opened one of the cabinets next to the sink to look for a cup. But instead of the clear drinking glasses I was expecting I was greeted by rows of ornate golden goblets. I picked one up, turned on the faucet and put the goblet underneath the stream of water, filling it up. As I turned the water off I noticed Persephone standing nearby, a frightened look on her face. “Yo, what’s going on, dude?” I asked. “Are you here to get water too?” She nodded. I handed her the goblet I had just filled. “Here, you can have this one. Don’t worry, I didn’t drink out of it.” I picked up another goblet and started filling it up as another crash of thunder filled the air. Persephone’s eyes went wide with fear. “Are you OK?” I asked. 

Persephone shook her head. “I can’t sleep.”

“Storm keeping you awake?” I asked. Persephone nodded. “I feel you, dude. I can’t sleep either since I had way too much Dr Pepper earlier, that stuff’s so good but it’s loaded with caffeine.” I took a few sips of water. “Wanna just hang out for a bit in the living room? I could use some company.” 

“S-sure,” Persephone said hesitantly. I headed into the living room, Persephone following me. I flopped down on a couch and turned off the flashlight on my phone, putting it and the goblet of water on the coffee table. Persephone sat down on another couch.

“So does your dad create storms often?” I asked. “I’m really hoping this is not a frequent occurrence since I’d like to be able to actually sleep at night while I’m here.”

“Only when he’s really angry,” Persephone said. “It doesn’t happen very often though.”

“That’s a relief,” I said. “Usually when I’m really angry I either just hide in my room and blast heavy metal music or I practice my drums.”

“You play the drums?” Persephone asked.

“Yeah, I’ve been playing since I was your age,” I said. “I’ve been wanting to start a rock band for a few years now but I haven’t found anyone to play with.”

“My brother Apollo can play any instrument he picks up since he’s the god of music,” Persephone said. “Maybe he’d be willing to join your band.”

“I talked to him earlier and he seems like a really cool dude. I should ask him if he wants to jam,” I said. “Everyone here seems pretty cool. Although Aphrodite and Hera seem kind of distant.”

“They’re nice once you get to know them,” Persephone said.

“That’s good,” I said. “I didn’t really talk to Aphrodite much when I met her today since she was getting herself ready for some Instagram photoshoot.”

“She’s always talking about selfies and expensive makeup and designer clothes,” Persephone said. “I don’t understand any of that stuff, I just think it’s kind of silly.”

“I don’t understand it either, the whole beauty and fashion scene makes absolutely zero sense to me,” I said. “I’d rather spend my money on Star Wars toys.”

“I’ve never seen Star Wars,” Persephone said.

“Whoa, wait, are you serious?” I said, shocked. Persephone nodded. I knew at once that I needed to show her the movies. “Dude, Star Wars is, like, the coolest film franchise ever. I’ll tell you what, tomorrow I’ll show you the original trilogy. It will blow your mind. Are you down for that?”

“S-sure,” Persephone said.

“Gnarly,” I said as another crash of thunder filled the air. Persephone trembled with fright. “You alright, homie?”

“The thunder’s scary,” Persephone said quietly, her voice quivering.

I thought for a minute, trying to figure out what would help a scared little kid during a thunderstorm. “You want me to put on some relaxing music?” I asked. Persephone nodded, trembling. I picked up my phone and opened Spotify, searching for my favorite psychedelic rock playlist. Once I found the playlist I started playing it on shuffle mode, turning the volume loud enough for Persephone and I to hear but not loud enough for it to potentially bother the other gods. “Whenever I’m stressed out or can’t sleep I listen to psychedelic rock, it helps a lot. Tame Impala in particular helps me sleep.”

“I-I’m s-scared…” Persephone whimpered. Her breathing was shaky and she seemed close to tears.

“Hey, it’s OK, little dude,” I said, reaching over and putting a hand on her shoulder. “Nothing bad’s gonna happen. Just chill, breathe and try to focus on the music.” The song “Dirt” by The Stooges was currently playing. Compared to the other louder and more raw songs by The Stooges that I liked, “Dirt” had a calming bassline and a slow, relaxing tempo. I hoped Persephone would find it as soothing as I did.

After a few minutes Persephone’s breathing seemed to be stabilizing and she wasn’t trembling as much. “Feeling better?” I asked. Persephone nodded. “That’s good. I’m glad my tunes are helping you as much as they help me.” The song switched from “Dirt” to Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.” I turned the volume up a little bit.

“Do you like any other kinds of music besides rock?” Persephone asked.

“Hard rock is my absolute favorite but I’m pretty open-minded when it comes to music,” I said. “What kind of music do you like?”

“Most of the music Mama lets me listen to is very slow and soft,” Persephone said. “She says it’s good music to listen to while out working in the fields. You probably wouldn’t like it all that much if you like loud rock music.”

“Probably not,” I said. “So what do you do for fun?”

“I like creating plants and flowers,” Persephone said. “Mama says that in a few years I’ll fully grow into my plant powers.”

“Poison Ivy’s powers are pretty cool, it’s neat that you have hers,” I said.

“Who’s Poison Ivy?” Persephone asked.

“She’s one of Batman’s enemies,” I explained. “She can control plants and she really cares about the Earth and is trying to save it but at the same time she’s evil. Oh, and she’s bright green too.”

“I don’t know much about Batman,” Persephone said. “Or superheroes in general, really.”

“Oh man…” I muttered. “Oh man. Dude, once I introduce you to all my favorite superheroes your life is never going to be the same. Heck, there’s so much great pop culture I need to show you.” I really hoped Demeter would not mind my efforts to educate her daughter on everything I considered awesome. I knew that Persephone was probably too little for some of my favorite media but I was determined to show her the stuff I thought a kid her age could handle. Borderlands? Too much mayhem. Mortal Kombat? Too brutal. Alien and Predator? Too scary. Deadpool? No way, Demeter would destroy me. But the Avengers? Guardians of the Galaxy? Justice League? Power Rangers? Star Wars? Transformers? Spaceballs? I hoped that she’d get a kick out of those. “Your brain is going to explode from awesomeness once I show you all the movies, TV, video games and music I want to show you.”

“I like the music you’re playing right now,” Persephone said. “I haven't listened to a lot of rock before since Mama never really lets me listen to it.”

“I’m glad you’re digging my tunes, little dude,” I said, grinning. I held out my fist. “C’mon, fist bump.” Persephone bumped my fist.

“By the way, why does everyone call you Flash?” Persephone asked.

“I have this hoodie with the logo for the superhero The Flash on it that I wore pretty much every day during high school. Everyone started calling me Flash because of it and the nickname stuck,” I explained. I picked up my goblet and drank the rest of my water.

“Sometimes Mama calls me Kore,” Persephone said. “Or Little Flower.”

“Speaking of flowers and plants, what exactly can you do with them?” I asked. “I thought what you did earlier when you made them grow out of thin air was pretty rad. Can you bring dead ones back to life?”

“I can bring small plants back but it takes a lot of focus,” Persephone said. “But Mama says that once I fully grow into my powers I’ll be able to bring back any plant no matter how big it is.”

“That’s gnarly,” I said. “I absolutely suck at taking care of plants, a few years ago I got a free succulent at a street fair and it died within a few weeks.”

“Did you water it and give it enough sunlight?” Persephone asked.

“I did not, I left it in my bedroom which did not get a whole lot of sunlight,” I said. “I didn’t water it as much as I probably should have since I assumed that succulents didn’t need to be watered often.”

“You probably should have kept it outdoors or at least somewhere that got a lot of sun,” Persephone said. “And you should have watered it about once a week.”

“Yeah, that probably would have been a smart idea,” I said. “By the way, would you be willing to give me a tour of your mom’s garden tomorrow? I only got a glimpse of it earlier today but it looks totally rad.”

“Sure! I’d love to show you everything we grow,” Persephone said happily as her eyes lit up. “There’re so many different kinds of flowers and plants and it’s absolutely huge.”

“Awesome,” I said. “I’m super stoked to see the whole thing.” I found myself getting sleepy. The caffeine from the Dr Pepper I drank earlier seemed to be wearing off much to my relief. “Are you getting tired? I feel like I’m about to crash out.”

“Mhm…” Persephone yawned. “I’m sleepy.”

“I’m probably just gonna fall asleep right here,” I said as I turned the music off on my phone so as not to drain the battery. I sprawled out on the couch, making myself comfortable. “Night, dude.”

“Goodnight, Flash,” Persephone mumbled tiredly. Within minutes both of us had fallen asleep.
