i actually just really like the dynamic of apple and maddie being together, like not in a romantic way; but regardless it's genuinely such a FUN pairing??

like the contrast between those two is such a fun dynamic to play with, because on one hand we have apple, who is a complete stick in the mud, she is basically the posterchild for ever after high in a sense.

she's a stickler for tradition and is very obviously gunning for her destiny. she's someone who likes rules, she's someone who likes order; in fact, she's someone who enforces rules and order. apple is someone who's rather straightforward and very neat and orderly. she carefully plans out each and every thing to make sure that she's on top of everything, and to make sure that nothing can go wrong; she leaves no room for error. apple is also someone who doesn't like chaos, who doesn't like disorder, she doesn't like having elements that she can't control (which in this case could be raven choosing not to sign etc. etc.) and again, apple white is someone who loves structure.

maddie is a bit different obviously. maddie is a proud wonderlandian through and through and damn if she's going to let someone give her shit about that. maddie speaks in riddles. she wears a giant fucking hat out of which she can pull out every known thing to man apparently. she can interact with the narrators of their world and is, i think, the only who ever came close to realizing that their world is one that is fictional and they are just characters.

maddie is nonsensical. she is the opposite of order, the opposite of someone who follows rules and plans and the opposite of someone who loves structure; which is, in this case, apple. maddie is someone who can very easily do the impossible, like eat rocks for instance, if not told that this feat is impossible. she thinks outside the box in all occasions. she's fiercely intelligent and wise but her way of thinking is so unorthodox very few are able to understand her. maddie likes being free i believe. she likes having the freedom to do what she wants, hence she also likes her destiny because the mad hatter's destiny is a rather flexible one.

regardless, i think it's such a fun dynamic to have. you have someone who desperately clings to rules and plans and schedules and orders and who constantly builds upon them and supports them and backs them up in order to feel some semblance of control.

and then you have someone who could not give less of a shit about these rules, who could give less of a shit about conforming to the ideals of ever after high, and who is rather well off simply living in their own way, as they would wish to, without having someone to impose regulations or boundaries upon them.

apple is, genuinely, order exemplified. she is everything that is Ever After High; she follows her destiny to a T, she doesn't want anything else, has never wanted anything else, because this is all she's had in her life. she wants to have control over all things at all times because in the one instance where she wasn't in control, where she was going to drown. she clings heavily to destiny, to order itself, because she feels like it's the safest thing she has; the most sure thing she has.

maddie is, in a sense you could say, chaos exemplified. she's the opposite of what apple white is. maddie likes her destiny, sure, but she's not hellbent on enforcing the ideal of destiny; she'd just rather everyone be happy and free to do what they want. there are no sure things for maddie, someone who is a refugee in a strange new world, someone who had her home ripped away from her. they are no sure things for her but she doesn't let that get in her way, because she realizes that you can't control everything and she ends up much better off for it.

and i think it's such a strange dynamic, these two. the person who fears the loss of order the most and the one who easily breaks it on a whim.

su-a is such a good example of nature v/s nature and how society can play such a huge part in messing young people up entirely. like this girl is obviously very talented and observant and hardworking plus she comes from a wealthy background so she has the means to polish her talents without any outside help. she's so committed to what she does so she has so much potential to do so much good yet her parents literally enable all of her terrible behaviours and isolate her from new perspectives. she has no friends, spends all of her time studying so has no hobbies, her dad is aloof, and the only person she speaks to is her mom. and my god what a character her mom is.

su-a's mom is so consumed by upper class societal expectations and literally feeds off of their validation. she's so far gone that she's convinced herself she's doing what's best for her daughter and is only looking out for her. the world can be a scary place if you don't come out on top after all. su-a verbally expresses her distresses to her mom, tells her she she's seeing words pop out of the page, even ends up in the ER only for her mom to say 'it's alright! this is just a minor setback! you can get back up and focus on your studies again'. as soon as su-a mentions her competitors, all of her mom's attention is instantly diverted towards how others are doing in comparison and she starts wondering what she can do to cut down the competition. her mom doesn't give a single thought to her daughter's health or well being. and every tantrum that su-a throws, because of how isolated and lonely and stressed and tired she is, is always met with her mom basically telling her to ignore her mental and physical health and gently coaxing her into going back to studying

su-a is kicking and screaming to be heard. to be helped. she's suffocating but the only place she can turn to is her mother who is so good at convincing her that this thorny path is the right one. that it's the only one. i can't help but wonder how different su-a would have turned out if someone like haeng-seon was her mother. bc at the end of the day kids don't really care about money, or societal expectations, or validation. what they really need is moral support, attention, advice, and room to breathe. money is great and definitely helps ways more than one, but if used in the wrong way you end up confining yourself into a jail cell of your own making

'Lil tribute improv poem I made inspired by these two pics that are by far hands down my favourite from the new season, if not all time alongside the kiss in Into The Wild Green Yonder (my cover gif)

I was inspired by the gorgeous scenery and lighting in these pictures, captivating their love and the thoughts they would be having, mainly Fry. Note the pet names he used for Leela throughout the series up until now.

Words cannot describe how much I adored this new episode; Related To Items You've Viewed. It was so good. The Momazon jokes, everything. Probably made me laugh the most throughout the whole season. The Freela was beautiful, I loved their little tiff and everything that happened with the moving in. ALSO THEY MOVED IN TOGETHER FINALLY YES YES YESSSS AHHHHH!!! My only complaint is that we didn't get to see them have the moving in conversation!!! Who axed who first!!! HOW DID IT HAPPEN!!! I NEED TO KNOW!!! *que Fry screaming I NEED TO KNOW clip from Into The Wild Green Yonder*

Anyway, I loved it. I love that they all live together and that Bender is a part of their dynamic, and that they basically share Fry lol. I love it all. It's precious, it's beautiful. It's perfect.

I finally started watching My Journey To You and I'm completely enamored with these character introductions. Our introduction to the female lead is her flying in through a window and immediately knocking a roomful of people unconscious. She doesn't care who sees her naked. Her body doesn't belong to her anyway. She's cold, hard, and efficient. It's her last mission and she's not going to let anything stand in her way.

Our introduction to our male lead is... the complete opposite? He’s soft and curled up napping on a chaise in front of a fire like a housecat???? He's a beautiful delicate flower who's afraid of the cold??? He goes to the brothel when he's sad just so the courtesan will play him music so he can take a nap and de-stress after his father yells at him???

I can't believe this story is "ruthless assassin and her pitiful little meow meow". I love it so much.

Keep thinking about what Peter taught Miles in the first film about being Spider-Man -

“How am I supposed to save the whole world?”

“You can’t think about saving the whole world, you have to think about saving one person”

Only to have that leason mean NOTHING in ATSV when he’s being told by everyone, Peter included, the complete opposite - that he can’t think about saving one person, he has to save the whole world (or worlds in this case).

Kid most likely spent that whole time as Spider-Man with that advice as his belief and it was thrown back in his face by the people he thought would understand him the most. Fucked up lol.
