A year ago I was inspired to make something that captured the exact aesthetic of a vintage, degraded VHS recording from the 90s, and I think I'm pleased with what I attempted.

I know I've mentioned this at least twice now, but I frequently think back to Leo and Raph's minor spat right after Tiger Claw disappeared into the night with Karai.
Everytime they argued about Karai, Raph would boldly express his thoughts with a mix of cynicism and vexation that was clear as day in the way he spoke. Along with that came his choice of words ranging from him calling Leo crazy for even considering the idea of trusting Karai, to walking up to Karai herself and overtly voicing his suspicion of her. Enemy of My Enemy though was a slight deviation from his usual treatment of the situation when he, for once, remains silent about Leo agreeing to a truce with her.
Tumblr media
Even when she tells them Shredder is her father, Raph's usual exasperation and annoyance with Leo is considerably toned down and he's rather tame when proclaiming there's no chance of her ever being on their side with Shredder being such a prominent figure in her life.
This moment after Tiger Claw's departure though is much more unique because of the look of disappointment he wears, and a significant portion of it is being directed towards the leader this time.
Tumblr media
The team always had a chance of facing the consequences of Leo's resilient faith in Karai joining their side, and Raph's apprehension for such an occurrence is perfectly reasonable because Leo could blindly lead them into a worst case scenario. But he watched that possibility come to fruition this time and he sees that Leo still wants to chase after Karai when Mikey is out cold; it feels as though Leo hadn't learned anything from what happened in The Alien Agenda.
Raph doesn't even sound ready to burst someone's eardrums or rant about Karai being untrustworthy like usual. He just sounds done and the tone of finality he used is so jarring in a way.
It's no wonder that he didn't want to deal with Karai despite how upset Splinter was in The Legend of the Kuro Kabuto. Heck, his line of thinking was awfully similar to Splinter's; they were both willing to cut ties with Karai so long as it meant they didn't lose what they had.
Tumblr media
Of course he eventually comes around when its revealed that Shredder has Karai locked away in his dungeons, but you get it

Remember Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle? Well, that’s you this chapter :]

Pronouns: Gender Neutral (except ‘dudette’ and ‘princess’)
Warnings: injury, wholesome, lots of cleaning, not proof read
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
“You IDIOTS!” A crash resounded in the room as Stockman knocked over a table full of metal tools. “How could you let go the ONE MUTANT that survived all the testing phases!” Another crash as beakers and chemicals were knocked off a table. “I never should have left you FOOLS in charge of guarding the lab. This could set us back months of progress. If we don’t find that girl, Karai will have my head!”
With an angry huff Stockman fell into his dusty office chair and spun over to his computer. He was working on updating all the computer systems there in the old Sacks building. He had joined the Foot in taking up residence there since you had compromised their position at the warehouse laboratory by the docks. They couldn’t risk a raid from the turtles and losing all his research. This location wasn’t the most inconspicuous considering its history, but since the Shredder’s initial defeat at the hands of the turtles and April, the building had been deemed unstable and labeled condemned. Since it was difficult to dismantle such a large skyscraper in the middle of the city, it had been mostly left unoccupied for the past several years. Making it the ideal base for Foot activity.
As he was sorting through old records on the computer, he came across an interesting clip in the archived surveillance videos.
“Hmm…. interesting…. Yes, if I do that- yes…. YES! This will work nicely.” Stockman chuckled darkly to himself as he got up from his chair. Bebop and Rocksteady shared a confused look and shrugged, not understanding the sudden change in the scientist’s mood.
“Uuuuuh, hey boss, so what are we going to do about them?”
“You two aren’t going to do anything. …. yet.” Baxter’s dark chuckle echoed as he disappeared down the hallway.
It has been 2 weeks since you met the turtles.
Initially, April had brought you a duffle bag full of comfy clothes a little bit too big for you, and some essential toiletries. You couldn’t remember the last time you had a hot shower with conditioner and soft sweatpants to put on after. Leo’s bed was warm and clean, Michelangelo cooked you delicious comfort food, and Donatello downloaded all of your favorite movies and shows you had missed. Raph one night had even knit you a cozy cardigan. The boys were all making an effort to make you feel more comfortable. But you couldn’t help but notice the reason.
You were still scared.
Every night you woke to terrible nightmares. And every day you felt like you were still walking on broken glass. Startling at any sudden sound or slightest touch. You noticed how Leo looked at you with pity, and Mikey wore a faltering smile. Donnie kept busy working on tracking the Foot, aside from regularly changing your bandages, and Raph- Raph just tried to keep his distance.
You didn’t blame them. You were a stranger in their home. You were finally in a safe place, but it was like your body was still in survival mode. High strung and anxious. You wanted to do something for them. Anything, to repay them and make yourself feel useful. A distraction.
Master Splinter had on many occasions noticed your stressed and mousy demeanor. He felt the unease in their home and the distance his sons kept with their new ward. Like neither party knew how to find common ground.
One night, he requested you join him in his meditation room for tea. You obliged.
“I sense your unease.” He stated casually.
You hesitated, then nodded. You didn’t know how to respond.
“There is nothing to be ashamed about. For so long, you lived every day, not knowing if it would be your last. You lost your autonomy, your freedom. And yet you escaped all on your own. You are very brave.”
“….Thank you. I just wish I could feel that way. I feel so… scared. Like I’ll wake up back in that lab again and all of this would have been a dream. I… I don’t know what to do with myself.” You fussed with the teacup in your hands.
Splinter reached across the table and offered you his hand as a comfort. You took it gently and sighed.
“It will take time before you begin to feel like yourself again. My boys can be a little… reserved at times. It is not often we get to interact with friendly humans. Trust me when I say, they also wish for your comfort and safety. It just may take some time for them to get used to another presence in our home. In the meantime, perhaps there is something you can do that will make you feel more at home?”
You were surprised by his suggestion. They had already offered their home up to you, you wouldn’t dare ask anything more of them. But maybe…
“….a-actually… there might be something. If I could have your permission of course.”
Splinter smiled at you.
Once your injuries had fully healed, Splinter had called upon April and Casey’s help to assist you. There was some materials you needed of course, and Mikey was let in on the big secret. You felt guilty roping in so many people just to help you feel more comfortable, but there was something you wanted to do for them, as a thank you for taking you in. April seemed ecstatic at the proposition and was eager to bring you the supplies. Casey just seemed confused that this was something you wanted to do of your own free will. And Mikey- well, he was just excited to share a hobby with you.
The cooking part, that is. Not the cleaning.
Ever since you had been brought down to the lair for safe keeping, you had noticed one glaringly obvious thing. This was a man cave in every sense of the word. The lair was terribly dirty. Dust and grime everywhere. The only clean places you noticed were the dojo, Leo’s room, and Master Splinter’s quarters. You understood that they were all living in a sewer, and they had clearly made a bit of an effort to keep it clean. But you were through avoiding sticky spots on the floor and sitting on a dirty couch.
First things first: Donnie’s dirty coffee mug hoard. The purple turtle was currently napping in his room after an all nighter doing surveillance in coordination with the police, so now was the perfect time to clean up his station. You were extremely grateful to April for including a pair of rubber gloves in the bags of cleaning supplies she brought for you. Mikey helped you collect all the mugs and bring them to the sink, where he was in charge of washing them while you cleaned off all of Donnie’s work tables where he tinkered. You were careful not to move any projects, but wiped it clean of all its dust and stains. Then carefully sanitized all his keyboards and mouse, cleaned all of the monitors (yes all of them), and swept away the crumbs on the floor around his chair.
Once that was complete, you moved on to the living room. Leo was currently preoccupied meditating with Master Splinter in the dojo, so no one was around to notice you swoop in and descend on the couch. Thankfully the boys no longer had a couch made of empty pizza boxes, and had upgraded to a large sectional that Casey had found them used for cheap up top. You were certain that the couch covers had never been washed since it was brought down to the sewers. You were doubly certain that the boys probably didn’t even know the cushion covers could be removed and washed. You threw the covers into the washing machine on hot water with a healthy amount of soap. Mikey then helped you move the couch so you could clean the floor underneath, and smashed the cockroach that had scrambled out from underneath. The coffee table was wiped down, the rug was taken to a railing to be hung and the dust beat out by Mikey with his nunchucks, and the floor mopped clean.
Next was the workout room. Raph had just finished his exercise and left for the bathroom to take a shower, so you rushed in and started cleaning off every dusty and grimy sweat covered surface you could find. There was a musky scent of dirt and sweat permeating the room. All the dumbbells had a build up of grime from their sweaty hands using them for so many years. You also made sure to sanitize all of the mats and floors as well. By the time you were finished, Raph was leaving the shower and went to his room. You hid so he wouldn’t notice you as he passed by, unassuming. Then you were left with the big task.
The bathroom.
You were certain if there was a soundtrack playing in the background, dramatic horror music would be playing. You rolled up your sleeves and went in. Toilets, showers, sinks, and the massive bathtub, all scrubbed down with an unholy amount of bleach until every tiled surface shined. By the time you were finished, Mikey had come in to tell you he was ready to start on the kitchen. That was Mikey’s domain.
You were grateful that all the dishes were already clean by the time you entered the kitchen. But Mikey needed your help when it came to the cupboards and fridge.
“Mikey? ….Why do you have 3 year old expired sour cream in the fridge?”
“Huh? Isn’t it supposed to be ‘sour’? It still looks good, doesn’t it?”
“Mikey there is black mold growing in it.”
“Oh, so…. That’s not pepper then.”
By the time you had finished clearing out the fridge and cupboards of everything expired or moldy, you had filled 3 trash bags full of garbage. Mikey helpfully took out the trash while you cleaned and organized the fridge and cupboards, and wiped down all the surfaces. By the time Mikey returned, you were rifling through the brown paper bag April got you full of ingredients and spices you had requested.
“What’s cookin’ good lookin’?” Mikey cheerfully greeted you as he rejoined you in the now clean kitchen.
“Well… if I remember the recipe correctly, I want to make the dish my mom always made for me…”
Mikey looked at you surprised for a moment, then excitement overtook him. “Cool! Can I help?”
You perked up at the suggestion. “Will you? I’d,… I’d love that, thank you!” Your expression melted into a warm smile, and Mikey felt his heart skip a beat.
You looked so pretty when you smiled, he thought to himself.
He wanted to see you smile more, just like that.
You both washed your hands and got to work. On the freshly clean kitchen counter, you had Mikey kneed cold butter into flour to make a dough, while you cut vegetables and cooked chicken on the stove. By the time Mikey was ready with the dough, there were 6 pie tins lined up to add the crust. The oven dinged and the base crust went in to brown while you stirred a large pot on the stove. Then you took out the pies and added the filling, and covered the tops with more dough. You were surprised at how large their oven was, but they were 4 giant mutant turtles and a rat. You had no doubt that each of the boys would eat a whole pie themself. The extra 2 were for Splinter, you, April, and Casey, who would be joining everyone later.
Once the oven door closed, Mikey turned up the radio that had been quietly humming tunes in the background as a fun song you hadn’t heard before played through the speakers. (‘Bad idea right?’ by Olivia Rodrigo started playing.) Mikey’s head started bobbing and he grabbed the wooden spoon you had been stirring with and began mouthing the words into it like a microphone. You giggled at his antics as he pointed a green finger at you and beckoned you out into the open of the room. You felt drawn to join him as the pop song got your head bobbing to the beat. You felt a feeling well up in your chest as the chorus started building up. Excitement bubbling until the chorus peaked and your head bobbing turned into jumping around. Before you knew it, you were dancing around the living room with Mikey holding your hands and spinning you around. You lost yourself in the freeing feeling of the stress and anxiety getting washed away by the music. All the cleaning you had done was so stress relieving you were starting to feel like yourself again.
Little did you know, the music had drawn the attention of the other brothers. Leo and Master Splinter came out from their meditation to watch in the doorway, Leo smiled and crossed his arms as he looked at you. Raph came out freshly dressed and looked surprised but shared a look with Leo that made them smirk at you and their little brother’s antics. Then Donnie trudged out and leaned against his door frame and fixed his glasses to make sure he was in fact seeing you correctly.
You were smiling, laughing, and dancing.
“It seems as though we are seeing Miss (y/n) for the first time today.” Mused Splinter, the old rat brushing his beard.
Just then April and Casey walked in, carrying boxes they had brought down from up top.
“Hey guys, what’s going on?” April asked putting down her box.
You were happily giggling as Mikey spun you around at the end of the song. April grinned, happily surprised at the scene. Casey walked in behind her and started looking around the lair like he was seeing it for the first time, setting his box down next to April’s. This prompted Leo, Raph, and Donnie to also take a better look around their home. They slowly all walked out into the living space, looking in all directions.
“.... Where did all my coffee cups go…?”
“Hm? Oh! They’re washed and in the cupboard!” You answered cheerily.
“.... Does…. Does the gym smell like oranges?” Raph said, baffled.
“.... Where did all the dust go? ….Does the couch look clean to you?” Leo nudged Donnie to bring his attention to the freshly washed couch covers.
There was a beat of heavy silence as the boys took in the new state of their home, then the timer above the oven dinged and you ran over to put on your oven mitts.
“The food’s ready!” You called out cheerfully.
In the next few minutes, everyone was sitting around the small kitchen table. Each turtle with a full pie in front of them, and large slices cut for Splinter, April, and Casey, and a smaller cut for yourself.
“Damn, what’s this? Smells great!” Casey exclaimed.
“My mom showed me how to make this, it’s chicken pot pie. I hope you like it!” You said a bit shyly now that you had calmed down a bit.
You watched as all the boys and April picked up a spoon and dug in, taking their first bite. There was a chorus of groans of approval as the boys hummed approvingly around their bite.
“Oh my god my mouth is singing!” Mikey exclaimed, trying to shovel the pie into his mouth.
“How did you manage to get this level of flakiness into the crust? Was there any special preparation when kneading the dough?” Donnie questioned. Then Mikey mumbled out around a full mouth, ‘cold butter, dude’ which Donnie had to ask him to repeat when his mouth wasn’t full.
“Wow… I’ve never had anything like this before. Did you make this?” Leo asked. Raph was grunting in approval with each new bite he took, absorbed in his food from across the table.
You blushed and nodded. It didn’t take long for everyone to clean their plates. Casey, Mikey, and Raph all fought for seconds. Master Splinter and April were sharing very pleased looks on their faces, like they were conspiring all along. Once everyone was finished, you stood up and started to collect plates from the table.
“Oooooh no, you did enough cleaning today, let someone else take a turn, shortie.” Raph stood up to stop you.
“I don’t mind, really!” You urged, but you weren’t paying attention to where you were walking and bumped into Mikey who was taking his own plate to the sink.
The plate dropped from his hand in surprise, and faster than anyone could react, your freehand shot out and grabbed the plate. There was a cracking sound and everyone froze to look at you. There you were, balancing 5 large heavy ceramic plates stacked in one hand, while your other hand was holding onto Mikey’s plate that had cracked and fractured in your grip. You were stunned.
“Woah… what just happened?” Mikey broke the silence.

Hi Indiee!!
I luv ur art sososososo much and I was wondering if you have any messy sketches laying around, whether it’s future events for Tms or Indie Tmnt :D (The indie leo angst from the invasion/farmhouse arc is slowly taking control of my body… uh oh)
Pls take your time and drink lots of water!
Aw righty, let’s see what I’ve got.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uh, let’s see,
Some newer test designs for The Shredder’s and Karai’s battle armor. I went for more traditional samurai armor.
Me re-working how the Kraang tech works, getting an idea, and then spending like 3+ hours on a drawing 😅
The afterwards of this comic
The pre-cursor to Raph meeting Mrs. Morrison (I have more sketches of it but most of them are just outlines of text)
I decided to add a Battle Nexus arc in which Renet teleports them to a dimension, but then the Dimension Scepter dies so they’re stuck there for who knows how long. The turtles get arrested, but then a very professional woman interested in making dealy-doos (that she will most likely change the terms of at the last second) pays them out on the condition that they fight in her Battle Nexus Arena. The boys meet a whole bunch of people from other dimensions(Usagi) and even some from their own(Traximus). The specific picture I gave is designs for Usagi. Leo has not had enough time to recover from his fight with Shredder mentally and, during is fight with Usagi, breaks down in an episode and goes psycho.
The Banned for Life posters on the bulletin boards at April’s school. The boys will live on through that school’s history as those random Japanese boys straight out of a J-pop band that wreaked havoc on the school for all of 20 minutes then disappeared, never to be seen again.
Lol, hope you like these ^v^ just some random doodles I had.

A nice detail that I kind of noticed was that the Rise opening in season 2 is slightly different than it is in season 1
Tumblr media
When we see inside the Turtle Tank when Leo lands on top of it, originally in season 1 only April & Donnie are in the Turtle Tank but in season 2 Splinter is with them as well.
Tumblr media
Another interesting change between season 1 & 2 is that the group of villains that we see, changes between seasons. In season 1 we see Meat Sweats, Hypno, Warren, Repo, Big Mama & a bunch of Mutant Silver Fish.
However in season 2 we see that Meat Sweats & Big Mama have been replaced by Sloppy Joseph (the mutated sloppy joe that Draxum kept from the episode  Mystery Meat) & Harold (the botanical gardens grounds keeper/ security guard who mutated in the episode How to Make Enemies and Bend People to Your Will)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Mutant Silver Fish also Disappear from the openings between seasons 1 & 2 (maybe to represent the Turtles dealing with bigger, more serious threats?)  however there are other additions
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mrs Nubbins (Repo’s cat) now appears in the season 2 opening alongside Repo Mantis possibly representing how Mrs Nubbins got mutated at some point in the middle of season 1 as the cat actually appeared pre-mutation in the episode Repo Mantis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ghostbear: Peekaboo losers!
Mikey, Leo, April & Donnie: Ghost Bear!?
Raph: Oh! Love the new look! Oooh hey, can I get a quick selfie?
Ghostbear who has also been added to the season 2 opening as similar to Mrs Nubbins, Ghost Bear also mutated in the middle of season 1 when he mutated in the episode Snow Day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hypno: That’s my Warren! Oh, it’s good to have ya’ back roomie/ magical assistant/ friend. Doves! Let’s go make fun of game show contestants on TV.
Another change is that Warren has switched from sitting on Meat Sweat’s shoulder to sitting on Hypno’s shoulder which might represent relationship that developed between Warren & Hypno in season 1.
Tumblr media
Casey/ Foot Recruit was also added to the season 2 opening possibly representing how Foot Recruit was kind of supposed to have a bigger role throughout season 2 as apparently it had been planned that April & Cassandra were supposed to have a rivalry throughout season 2 but unfortunately most of their episodes were cut & the only one we got was Always Be Brownies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though most of Casey’s episodes were cut from season two she still did have quite a journey with her ending up on the side of the Hamato Clan so it would have been interesting to see where she would have been in an opening had Rise gotten a season 3.
Especially since it seems as though in the time between the end of season 2 & the movie Cassandra has been placed firmly in the ‘friend’ category for the Hamato Clan according to April as she calls Cassandra ‘our friend’.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
April: Whoa! Looks like our friend Cassandra here has been busy
Tumblr media
Finally, the final change between the season 1 & 2 openings is that Draxum has been replaced by Shredder as the seasons ‘big bad’ which makes sense as Draxum has his redemption arc in season 2 starting in the episode Repairin’ the Barron
Tumblr media
Draxum: I told you Carol I do not want to meet your daughter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Karai: Thank you my young Hamato’s, we will always be with you
Oroku Saki was freed from the Dark Armour at the end of season 2 & went off to be with the other Hamato spirits so if Rise had gotten a season 3 a new Big Bad would have ended up in the spot of Draxum & Shredder
Tumblr media
The ‘Big Bad’ of season 3 could have possibly been one of the Krang or Big Mama as though the Krang were always meant to be the movie’s antagonists we do know that at least one Krang was left on earth at the end of the movie.
Tumblr media
However Big Mama could also possibly be a contender for the ‘Big Bad’ of season 3 as we know that the original outline for the third season was meant to be the Turtles looking for the two missing Turtle siblings & with the fact that Big Mama’s Assistant has been implied by the Rise team to have been one of the two missing siblings it’s possible that the Hamato Clan could have come into more direct conflict with Big Mama in the third season.
Tumblr media
In the movie Krang Prime’s throne was made out of a Triceraton skull meaning that Triceraton’s do most likely exist in the Rise universe so the ‘Big Bad’ of season 3 might very well possibly been a Triceraton invasion.
Tumblr media
Leo: They wanted to wipe out their ancient enemy the Krang
In the 2012 series one of the reasons for the Triceraton’s invasion was due to the Krang’s presence on Earth. A lot of the people who worked on the 2012 series also worked on Rise as well & as such some similarities between the two shows can sometimes be seen (such as both iterations having April & Casey be teens). It’s possible that Rise could have another similarity to the 2012 series by having the Triceratons come to Earth as a response to the Krang’s own presence there.
If the Triceratons do come to earth due to the Krang’s presence there then the events of the movie could possibly set up the Krang as the series next big bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway the differences between the season 1 opening and the season 2 opening include:
Splinter being added to the Turtle Tank with April & Donnie
New villains in the villain group shot
A different ‘Big Bad’ in the final scene
So it is possible if Rise had gotten a season 3 the season 3 opening might have had Casey in the Turtle Tank with Donnie, April & Splinter (maybe standing behind one of their seats?), a new villain group shot with possibly villains that were introduced in the middle of season 2 or villains that will be introduced in season 3 & a new ‘Big Bad’ in the final scene.

Crazy 6 In The Morning Theory!
I have a theory on why the key in rottmnt is indestructible. The prison demention IS the key or rather the prison demtion is located inside the key.
Tumblr media
I have some evidence to back my claim.
Evidence A: The flash back scene.
Tumblr media
I can’t find the photo to show what I’m talking about but if you go back in the movie you’ll see what Im about to talk about. In the flash back scene went the great warriors were using the key, instead of showing a visual of a portal sucking up the aliens or the warriors forcing the Krang into a portal or just showing them disappear what do they show us. The Krang all being sucked INTO the key. Now this very well could have just been a stylistic choice but at the same time it could have been intentional.
Evidence B: the whiteboard scene
Again I could not find the image of April and Splinter in front of a white board but luckily for this one I don’t think I need a image to describe what I’m about to talk about. During the movie, the movie tried to make it clear to us the veiwer that the key is indestructible meaning no matter how many lasers you chuck at it the thing will stay right there solid bo scratches no nothing. Now why is that?
In some ways it feels like a design flaw if you were to put a animal in the cage one would think the first thing anyone would do was to get rid of the key to make sure said thing has no means of obtaining it or getting out. The first warriors were the ones to make the key so they probably would have had some means of destroying it or they at least would have thought to hide it in a place no one can obtain it or even better lock it in a different demention like they did with the shredder.
But maybe If the key was litterly the prison demention it would make a lot more since why it would be indestructible. You dont want to destroy the means of where your keeping your prisoners it defeats the purpose. I can also see them wanting to keep a close eye on the key to make sure nothing tried to escape it or break out. Suddenly everything makes a little bit more sense. Also if you were creating a demention out of no where you would need a place to put it. You would want it to be a place thats easy to find and get to at any time and be easy to watch. If you were hiding it you would want the place to seem inconspicuous, somewhere that could be in plain sight, somewhere that no one would think it would be, maybe in a place where it can easily be moved or hidden. So why not put it in something rather then put it somewhere. This way you can always have it be watch 24-7 you can move and hide it easily and no one would think that a whole pocket demention would be in your pocket. For all we know they could have been treating this item like the shredder tea kettle till they died and lost it along the way.
Evidence C: Style
The key has a lot of intrusting design choices litteraly and in a sort of metaphorical figurative sense. The movie makes the key seem very similar to pandora’s box. Once you open it its almost impossible to put all the evils back in that box and you have to live with the consequences.
Tumblr media
Also went you first think of a key the first thing that comes to mind is probably your standard house key 🔑 for a lot of people myself included. The designers however decided to make it a clinder like container. Almost like it wasn’t really ment to be a key in the since that you would use it to open a door. It was more of a key in the since that it was the key to solving their alien problems. The key shape kinda reminds me more of one of those time capsules that you would find underground. It looks more like something thats ment to BE opened rather then OPEN something. Like the key wasn’t a key at all instead it was a doorway or a lock. Like a chest or a pringels can.
People also always like to point out that the key looks like a Hawaii teekie item which going back to the last evidence could have been intentional for having it be hidden in plain sight. Sure it looks unusual but I can also see it very much being a decoration piece in someones home or someone using it as some sort of paper weight. I could also see it being passed of as a artifact some one would dig up and put in a museum…wait.
Hope you liked my theory and I rest my case. Feel free to give your own evidence or thoughts I would love to read them.❤️

Rise Dad Simulator: Part 1 (Intro)
Two weeks after the apocalypse was thwarted, and New York City is still a mess. The external carnage reflects the internal turmoil of Splinter's home: each of his sons injured, hurting, but still alive. They'll heal, but it's slow going, and that's what led him out of the sewers today, on a supply run for food and medicine.
The one good thing about the massive destruction is that no one is around, and that makes it easy for Splinter to slip into grocery stores and pharmacies, on the hunt for cans and bandages and pills. Much has been picked over by now, but he's still able to gather a sizeable haul, and he carts it back toward the lair in a bag carried by a small drone that Donnie made for him.
He's moving at a steady but unhurried pace, so as not to tax his old bones, when his ears, still sensitive despite his age, pick up on the sound of yelling from the lair. Purple and Blue, if he had to guess, their shouts incoherent as they mix together.
He moves to a brisk walk, then a run as their voices rise in volume, a thunderous cacophony. The worst is flashing through his mind: an enemy has found them again, and his sons, still weak from recovery, are all alone. They'll fight, he knows they will, to defend their home and each other, and that's what he's afraid of - the worst visions from the last two weeks of lost sleep rolling before his eyes, each of his boys lost to him forever.
That's what he's expecting to find when he skids to a stop at the top of the old broken down escalator. But there is no enemy. There is no bloodshed.
There are only his sons, gathered in the kitchen but seemingly far apart. He was right: Blue and Purple are yelling at each other, Purple's hands gesticulating at mile a minute while Blue leans on his crutches and glares back. Between them, Orange is sobbing, his arms wrapped tightly around his midsection, trembling as he watches his older brothers fight. And off on the edges of it all stands Red, his face blank, haunted, and he says nothing even as the fight in front of him escalates.
Before Splinter can do anything to silence them, Orange breaks - he runs, pushing past them to make a beeline for his room. The movement seems to snap Red out of whatever trance he's fallen into, and he leaves next, straight for the training room.
That leaves Purple and Blue, their fight dimming as they realize their audience has left.
"I'm going to my lab," Purple snaps, turning on his heel.
"Good! Do us a favor and don't come out!"
"I won't!"
Purple disappears up the stairs. With shaky movements, Leo hobbles his way back to the medbay. Splinter is left at the top of the stairs, unnoticed and alone.
He makes his way to the kitchen, followed by the drone. There's a broken bottle of pasta sauce on the ground, shattered glass scattered over the floor. There's a pot boiling on the stove, and he flicks it off with his tail. The groceries are set on the counter, though he doesn't move to unpack them. There's nothing that needs the cold, anyway.
He wonders what he should do.
His sons have fought many times before, and most often he leaves them to sort it out themselves. Conflict resolution is good for growing children to learn, and he doubts they would appreciate an old man involving himself in their disputes, anyway.
But this is different. His kids have never been through such a fight - even after the Shredder, they were not so injured. They didn't come so close to losing everything.
Perhaps he should intervene this time?
But if he does, who should he go to first? His sons scattered in different directions. There are four of them, and he is only one rat-man.
How can he decide?
Thank you for 1000 followers! More info under the cut. :)
WELCOME to something I have wanted to do for awhile now: an interactive story! Set immediately post-movie and dealing with a lot of the emotional and physical trauma the boys went through... well, assuming you guys choose to pursue it!
Other people write post-movie fanfics and I decide to do this instead... oh boy.
Rise Dad Simulator will deal with: Rise movie spoilers, the emotional/mental trauma of said movie, discussion of physical injuries and other health conditions including seizures, self-worth issues, and general themes of hurt/comfort and some angst. I don't think we'll need any more content warnings but I'll update if so!
HOW THIS WORKS:
There will be 4 primary rounds. The start of each round will have voting for 1 week (and maybe other particularly important choices will too), while smaller choices in between will have voting for 1 day.
This doesn't necessarily mean I will update every day! I do have other stuff going on lol. But I will try to stay prompt!
Based on the results of each poll, I will write the next part of the story. Vote for where you think the story should go! There are no wrong answers... though there are multiple endings I have planned, so keep that in mind. :)
I'll be tagging all posts for this story with the following tags:
rise dad simulator update (this tag will have the polls)
rise dad simulator
The second tag is just for if I have any asks or anything related to the story - if you only want to see the story updates/polls, use the first tag!
Also feel free to reblog! And thanks again for 1000 followers! Never thought we'd be here but here we are!

Oh my gosh... if Ghost was THAT interdependent with his brothers, it must have HURT when he got ripped away. His emotions must have been a MESS; he's used to a four person emotional system and now it's just him alone? No wonder he isolated himself for so long. And no wonder the SAINW boys fell apart!! There's an essential piece missing, the system is broken. Did they feel it when he disappeared? Did they know he was gone? Did they know they were broken?
Leonardo woke in the middle of the day. He was a light sleeper, it wasn’t unheard of, but instead of the usual rustling of Mikey out for a midday snack or the sound of Donny still working on a project, it was eerily quiet. There was the regular creak of pipes, the distant rumble of the city far above their heads, but nothing unusual.
He got out of bed anyway to check on his brothers.
It had been a rough few months. Travelling all the way to the floating city of Beijing to set it back down safely into place (the wrong way around), the return of the Y’Lyntian people in the underground city, stopping a nuclear bombing by H.A.T.E., the… thing beneath Wall Street that had sent them spiraling into their worst nightmares.
All of that overlaid with whatever the Shredder was up to now. Leo’s nerves were at an all time high. Raph’s temper was shorter than ever. Donny was working later into the days and sleeping less and less. Mikey was doing his best to keep the mood light and joking.
It had been a rough few months, but they had stuck together, they’d supported each other through nightmares and flashbacks and aches and pains. They’d rested together when one of them felt too exhausted to continue doing this.
They would always have each other, no matter how bad things got.
But something felt wrong.
He found Mikey asleep in his room, up in his bed, curled up with a comic hanging from his hand over the ledge. Leo carefully extracted the comic and set it aside for Mikey to find when he woke.
Raph was twitching in his hammock, a frown on his face. Another nightmare. Leo carefully rubbed over his shell and Raph sucked in a breath, mumbling, “Leo? Whaddya doin’?”
“Just checking on everyone,” Leo murmured. “Go back to sleep.”
“Hmph. Make Don go to bed if he’s still up.”
“Got it.”
Leo walked out of the room and headed to Donny’s. As expected, he wasn’t there, so Leo hopped down to his lab.
Surprisingly, that was also empty.
Leo frowned as he stepped inside the old subway car, looking around. Some things had been knocked over. There was broken glass across the floor. The machine Donny had been working on was still humming faintly. A glass of water sat untouched. Donny’s shell cell was still on the table.
Something felt wrong.
“Don?” Leo said, stepping out of the lab.
He checked the kitchen next, but didn’t find his brother hunting through the cabinets. He didn’t find him in the storage room either, or the bathroom. He even went up to check the garage and didn’t find him.
When he stepped out of the elevator, Raph was waiting there for him, frowning.
“Somethin’ felt off,” Raph muttered before Leo could ask. “What’s Donny doin’ up in the garage?”
“He’s not,” Leo shook his head. “I’ve searched the whole place for him.”
Raph’s mouth twitched downwards. “He’s gotta be around here somewhere. Maybe he got a call from April?”
Leo took out his shell cell and called as Raph began searching the rooms. It was enough for Mikey to come ambling out yawning as April finally answered.
“Leo?” She asked, surprised. “Aren’t you guys usually asleep by now?”
“Is Donny with you?” Leo asked. “Or did you call him?”
“No.” Her frown could be heard through the phone. “Maybe he went to the junkyard? Or Casey asked him to help with something? He’ll turn back up, don’t worry so much.”
“It’s…” Leo paused. He didn’t know how to explain it. He knew something was wrong. He could feel it in his gut, in the way it was churning and twisting and tightening. His nerves felt frayed, raw, like an open wound. “I don’t know. Something feels off, April. We’ll check the junkyards and Casey’s. Thanks.”
“Sure, Leo… Are you guys alright?”
“Yeah, we’ll be fine.”
“Mikey told me about you guys seeing Bishop again. And Karai.”
Leo was quiet for a moment, before he took a breath to calm himself. “I’ll talk to you later, April. I wanna find Donny first.”
“Okay… Bye, Leo.”
“Bye.”
He took a breath and rubbed his hand over his face.
“Why would he go to the junkyard during the day?” Leo muttered. “Without his shell cell, too…”
“I can’t find him, Leo,” Raph scowled as he stalked up to him. “Where the shell did he go? Why is there broken glass in his lab?!”
“I don’t know, Raph,” Leo said quietly. “We’ll find him. Call Casey and see if he’s heard from Donny.”
“Want me to wake up Splinter?” Mikey asked.
“Not yet.” Leo frowned towards Donny’s lab. “He might’ve gone into the tunnels.”
“I’ll check the pond,” Mikey said, heading over to it. “The diving gear is still here so he can’t have gone far.”
There was a splash as Mikey dove in, and Raph dialed Casey.
Leo stood there, waiting with his breath held, watching Raph, who was looking more and more irritated by the second.
“Casey, you heard from Donny?” Raph blurted into the phone. He scowled quickly. “I dunno! I was hopin’ he’d gone over to your place or somethin’. He’s not with April, he’s not in the garage, he wouldn’t have gone out durin’ the day, he left his shell cell here–”
Raph was cut off by Casey saying something, and Leo realized how tense his shoulders were. He tried to force them to relax, to try and calm Raph as well, but he saw Mikey pop back up from the pond and shake his head as he climbed out.
Leo was becoming more and more aware that his frayed nerves felt like disconnection. Some part of him was missing that he hadn’t even noticed was there before. It made his stomach churn. He could feel it in his bones, in his throat.
Donatello wasn't there anymore.

Okay. I've been tip-toeing around this AU for a while now, but I just got caught up, and now I think I have a (decent) grasp on what's going on. So I wanna go over everything I know so far to see if I'm right or wrong on anything. Don't know if you'd be willing to correct me or not. Either way, I hope my mistakes can help you understand what to clarify to other fans like me. But, I also have some questions. You probably won't be able to answer most of them, but it's at least worth a shot.
First, where's Venus? Like, why is she not in your comics that are (sort of) separate frome the canon now story. The ones that skip to the future way after all the turtles reunite. Did she die? Did she escape? Is it because she wasn't introduced yet when you made those comics?
Two, why do you keep on making references to the future timeline? I know you're planning on possibly making your own stuff leading up to the events of the movie. It just gives me a jumpscare when I see certain...imagery in those comics. I guess you're hinting at what your version of the future apocalypse would look like, but it just hurts to see. Specifically in the comic explaining both the events and aftermath of the movie and the bad future timeline. It's starting to really confuse my brain as to where this story is headed. What's meant to be the main focus? The Hamto's reuniting? The aftermath? Or the future?
Third, did you make all those min-comics before you started the actual AU? Or did you do them during?
Fourth, are any of those mini-comics relevant to the actual story now? Or have you changed your mind on a few things? It's just that everything is so all over the place, I don't really know whether to trust if they're accurate. I know most of them are just there for funzies, but the longer ones concern me. I guess I'm just not used to the storyteller doing sequel, start, prequel, start, sequel, prequel, prequel, sequel, and then end. Or maybe it's just me, and I'm sleep deprived.
My little observation speech is gonna take a while for me to get out in your asks because when I get theoretical, my speech gets long, and my proper English goes down the drain. So I'll be back. I appreciate your work very much. Despite the pain it causes me, it's still amazing.
I’ll try my best to clear up what confusion I can!
1. As far as Venus. The answer is kind of a mix of, I was still figuring out her design and backstory while coming out with some of those early comics, and then, once I had that down, I wanted the boys to grow strong bonds as a main cast. That’s why a lot of the side characters are only making small appearances in the Sep!AU Life stories, as those are mainly for the boys reconnecting. (Usagi shows up the most because I love him and am totally biased towards him).
This maybe hasn’t been stated outright, but I wasn’t really expecting so many ppl to like Vee as much as they do, and now im trying not to spoil too much of her story. It’ll unfortunately just take us a while to get to the meat of it. Since the boys reconnecting takes up a lot of the early s1s2 story, Im trying to follow the familiar Rise blueprint of Draxum, Shredder, Krang, and then in s3 we’ll have crazy fun new stories with the extra characters.
Ive also decided to take this little nugget from one of the Q&As, and use it for Venus instead of Jennika. It was a much needed bit of inspiration to explain why Venus sorta disappears for a while and will go through some major physical changes (not yet revealed) before the family can figure out a way to reach her.
Tumblr media
2. I’m not sure if you mean jump scared in a bad/triggering or neutral way, but if you need me to tag anything on those posts please let me know!
The glimpses of the future timeline, are being scattered throughout wherever they parallel the present story in little ways, but that’s only for now. As we get closer to the movie plot, bigger chunks of the future will be revealed, because the future versions of the boys will have a larger role to play in the present timeline. So we will need more backstory than what the canon got. And also I just enjoy drawing my future versions so sometimes I don’t think too hard on a reason. I just like throwing them at ppl with no warning or reason.
When s2 ends, I plan on collecting all the future related stuff that’s been released, and recapping it for easier reading. Right now, it’s just little sprinkles of foreshadowing to give ppl an idea that, ‘oh crap. The doomed timeline is a bummer’. In my mind, I guess i thought it’d be kinda like a fun scavenger hunt for clues, but maybe ppl don’t like that 😅
3. All of the side-stories were written as the main comic was/is being released. A lot of them resulted from asks that just spawned the need to expand on certain ideas, or a desire to give all the turtles their time to shine.
For instance, when I was doing Donnie’s section of the main comic, it was a good few months where we hardly saw anyone but him and Venus. I wanted to just mix it up, and give Raph some love with his ‘Raph Time’ short. When Leo was front and center in the main, we hardly saw the others, so Mikey and Donnie got their little ‘Secrets’ short (and it was also I fun thank you for EW making it so far in the tmnt sep competition).
4. Anything that has been reworked/revised or just plain dropped should have an ‘Edit’ note because yes—I have gone back and changed some things, but more so from the asks i got in the early days, and some movie idea drafts.
All the short comics done in the last year, especially the ones that are listed in my pinned post, are canon and fall somewhere in the timeline. They’re like supplemental reading though—extra meat to give the world and the characters more personality. They do have particular backstory plot and important info in them, but nothing that shouldn’t eventually be re-visited/repeated in the main story.
um I hope that cleared up some things! I know it’s kind of a crazy amount of lore. I’ve tried my best to organize it in the pinned post, huge timeline, and search bar tags, but I know it’s getting harder and harder for newer ppl to jump in as it just get bigger. Thanks for reading regardless!

Trying My Worst
Title: Chapter 1/?? Prompt: passing out from pure exhaustion Fandom:  ROTTMNT Word Count: 1099  Author: PhoebePheebsPhibs Rating: Gen Characters: Michelangelo & Baron Draxum Warning: Description of fainting/passing out Summary: Notes: No Beta, We Die Like Gram-Gram! More chapters to follow...

Mikey had never been that exhausted in his entire life.
Not even after staying up for a full three days of non-stop fighting to defeat the Shredder when he was first resurrected.
Okay, maybe that's pushing it a bit. He did pass out instantly once the threat was gone and the adrenaline gave out.
But one night of sleep later and he was fine!
The week after the invasion from the Krang was a different story.
Mikey's arms turned to golden light and cracked all the way up to his shoulders as he forced open a hole in time and space to save his brother. Everything after that was a blur.
He remembered Leo falling through, winking at the Krang Prime before turning to check on Leo and falling on top of him in a desperate hug as they all watched the sun rise over NYC from Staten Island.
But then... Mikey wasn't so sure, The last thing he recalled was leaning against Raph's arm for support as Donnie called for a pickup. And then... blackout. Mikey's knees gave out from under him as the world began to spin and all strength left his body. He couldn't feel his arms anymore. He couldn't hear Raph's panicked voice as he caught Mikey. He just fainted, passed out, knew no more.
Mikey 'woke up' a few times on the ride back home. Though he didn't remember any of it. He was completely out of it, eyes unfocused and consciousness disconnected from reality. They told him the first few times he woke up, he didn't say anything, just looked around in confusion before passing out again.
The rest of the week was basically the same.
Mikey's body was utterly exhausted from the overuse of ninpo and mystic abilities. Draxum came in to check him over and warned them that Mikey's body needed to rest for a few days to heal up from the overexertion it went through.
Mikey slept for at least a day and a half before actually waking up. And even then, he was on the moon. He could barely speak without babbling endlessly about who knew what and crying every time someone even looked at him because he 'just loved them so much'.
Mikey's arms were completely out of commission. They were fine, or at least they would be. But 'Mikey's little mystic stunt' as Draxum put it would leave his limbs numb and floppy for quite some time. The mystic cracks would disappear, the scars fade into nothingness, and his arms would return to normal once his body had gotten enough rest.
It only took a week. To everyone else, this was a miracle. To Mikey, it was torture.
A whole week of bedrest and not being able to use his arms?? Forget the fact that meant no art or cooking, it also meant he couldn't play video games or scroll online! Couldn't feed himself, couldn't read a book without having someone else turn the pages, couldn't even change the channel on the TV when they set him up on a couch bed. Couldn't itch himself if something got under his shell. Mikey literally could do nothing without asking for help.
And he had ADHD. Meaning he physically needed to do something with his hands and brain. Or else he'd go insane.
"Why does God hate me..."
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁.
"Let me see how your hands are doing, Michelangelo."
Mikey shakily held out his arms for Baron Draxum to inspect. He wiggled his fingers at him. They were a little sore, the joints felt a bit sticky, and his fingertips were wildly tender and sensitive, but he was managing fine. Ready to get back into using his extremities again! Ready to draw and paint and cook his own meals and do ninja tricks and razzmatazz!
Barry looked his hands over, gently pressing his thumb and forefinger against the scarred tissue and asking 'Can you feel that?' 'Yes.' 'Does it hurt?' 'Not really.' 'How about now?' 'Ouch!' and so on.
"You're healing quickly," Draxum congratulated. "Dexterity is doing well, your nerves are regaining feeling. You've been exercising them?"
"Some physical therapy," Mikey admitted. "A few stretches. And I tried sketching yesterday. Just to try, nothing big. Just shapes and squiggles."
"I do hope you're resting yourself, though," Draxum reminded him.
"I've been doing nothing but resting!" Mikey complained, leaning back and huffing with frustration. "It's been a whole week and I'm sick and tired of just sitting around."
"I'm sure your brothers are tired as well," Draxum said with consideration. "I hear Leonardo cannot even leave his bed yet."
Mikey swallowed his pride and glanced away from his co-father.
"...I don't mean to be complaining so much," Mikey sighed. "I just... I'm tired of feeling useless."
"I fully understand," Draxum replied with a nod. "But you need to take it slowly or else all this time will have been for nothing. It's a process."
Mikey grumbled impatiently. Draxum glanced up at him with a warning, but let it slide for the most part.
"...I suppose your legs work properly."
"Yes?" Mikey answered, confused by the inquiry. "Why?"
"And you can read?"
"Yeah, they finally let me use my hands for reading books again," Mikey admits. "Though it's kinda hard to stay focused with books. Why?"
"I was considering inviting you to my home for some formal training in the mystic arts. If you are interested."
Mikey shot up, bouncing from excitement.
"Are you kidding me?! Yes! Yes!!"
"On one condition," Draxum interrupted, raising a hand to calm his overly giddy child down. "You must take time to rest your hands. I cannot train you if you cannot take care of yourself and your hands cannot properly heal. Do you understand?"
"Yes, yes, I do!" Mikey promised, nodding with exhilaration. "I'll do my best with this!"
Draxum gave him a small, soft smile as he nodded.
"Very well. Training will begin next week. We'll start with the easy spells and a few rune exercises. Nothing too extreme, just to bring you up to speed and build your experience."
"Oki-doki!" Mikey said with a smile and a thumbs up, before his thumb twitched and twinged. "Ooh, ouch ouch ouch!"
Draxum eyed his son with concern.
"Uh..... I'll work on that. I'll be fine by next week, I promise!"
"Don't come if your hands still hurt you," Draxum warned. "We don't want to aggravate your condition."
"I'll be fine!" Mikey chuckled nervously. "I really wanna do this. I promise, I'll be fine."
Drax gave a groan of reluctant relent.
"We'll see..."

11.) Which version of Raphael is your favorite?
At this point in my TMNT journey, I still have yet to encounter a Raphael that beats the 2003 version for me. It's funny; under normal circumstances, the "angry/aggressive on the outside, soft/sweet on the inside" type of character really does not do it for me anymore, but the thing I really appreciate about 2k3 Raphael is that his short temper and aggression are not only treated as actual problems by the narrative, but it is something that he himself is aware of and is actively working on because, you know, the last thing he wants to do is hurt the people he loves in a blind rage. He really does go through a lot of character development over the course of the series and by the time the controversial Fast Forward season rolls around, he's significantly mellowed out and his relationships with his brothers have improved as a result. (Back to the Sewer may be the one season I truly dislike, but this scene with Raph and Mikey from "Super Power Struggle" has my heart.)
17.) Which version of the Shredder is your favorite?
It's funny; even though I absolutely love 2003 Shredder for how much of a threat he is throughout the series, I much prefer the characterization for the IDW Shredder. I just... love all the lore and depth he's been given as an antagonist. I would need to go back and reread some issues of the IDW comics I've already gone through to give my full thoughts on the guy, but he is pretty much single-handedly responsible for making me like "Yeah, Shredder works much better as a human character."
21.) What is your favorite story arc?
The Adventures in Turtlesitting/Good Genes arc. I am such a sucker for the whole "normally sweet character goes through a monstrous transformation that causes them to attack their loved ones" plot and the fact that Donatello's double mutation was killing him from the inside out added to the stakes of the whole thing. Never mind that the arc showed just how far the brothers are willing to go for each other, even if that meant making a deal with one of their worst enemies IE Bishop. (The arc also brought back Leatherhead after he basically disappeared following the end of Season 3, which I'm very happy about.)

Shadows Entwined: part 9
BatmanVsTmnt!Leonardo x sidekick!reader
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 / Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Bonus (18+)
---------------
A/N: I just passed my exam and finished yet another part of Shadows Entwined!🤩💙 It’s not super long this time. Due to my exam I decided to cut it a little short this time around, but I hope it’s still enjoyable😘💙
---------------
Warnings: None💙
The reader and the turtles are 19.
---------------
That day, all up on till the sun disappeared below the horizon, was relatively uneventful. While the sun stood in the sky, the turtles slept away in their rooms, while you, Damian and Barbara stayed in the Batcave with Alfred, keeping an eye on Bruce, and working away, trying to figure out where Ra’s al Ghul and Shredder was hiding out, and the much more pressing question; what were they working on? Why were the two villains working together?
You, Barbara and Damian had all decided to stay in costume, just in case any of the four terrapins would wake up. But as you pulled on your mask in your room, you couldn’t help but feel a rush in your stomach at the thought of the night before. What Leo had said about your face made you smile like crazy, and the thought of how close you had been to… how close you had been to kiss Leo made you gitty. Of course you couldn’t help but wonder what would have happened if you had kissed, finding yourself daydreaming on your way down to the Batcave with a small skip in your step, thinking of how Leo’s lips would have felt against yours.
But then the sobering reality hit you as soon as you entered the Batcave, the sight of your still unconscious father reminding you of all the other things that happened the night before. The towering gothic halls of Arkham. How terrified you had been while Leo had been under the influence of the Crane Gass, unable to do anything as he seemed terrified that you wouldn’t look him in the eyes, even though you had never said such a thing. And how your father, the dark knight, was turned into a mutant bat before your very eyes. Suddenly your little daydream about the almost kiss with Leo wasn’t the only thing on your mind.
It was around dinner time that the turtles woke up. At that point the dark had already fallen over Gotham, the sun being hidden behind a thick layer of dark clouds, the city rarely having more than a few hours of life during the day.
Sitting down next to Leo as you ate, your heart couldn’t help but flutter at the small smile he shot at you, his blue eyes twinkling a little as they searched for yours. It was clear that he also remembered the night before, both the good and the bad parts, seeming a little unsure if he was still in your good grace. But the smile you sent back at him, made him relax with a silent sigh, finally letting him eat without his heart jumping like mad.
After dinner, all of you went straight back to work, looking through any possible leads on where Ra’s and Shredder could be, while Alfred continued his care of Bruce, in the company of a worrisome Robin and a curious yet slightly scared Mikey. And then, lo and behold, Batgirl struck gold, showing you all her findings on the big screen of the computer.
“The Wayne Enterprises’ container ship that was moving the Cloud Seeder to Bludhaven, was hijacked last night”, Batgirl explained, reading up from her findings. “The thieves then smuggled the Cloud Seeder back into Gotham port”.
Raph grumbled with his arms crossed and his teeth clenched. “While we were dealing with those freaks in Arkham”. He was right. Arkham had been nothing but a distraction.
Donatello, who was seated in the chair right in front of the big computer, looked at the screen in thought, a finger tapping on his chin, before he seemed to have a realization, tapping away on the keys.
“With the machinery the Foot has stolen, I think they’re building something that’ll mix the ooze with Joker’s formula, and launch the Joker-ised ooze into the clouds above the city”, he said, pulling up pictures of the machinery for you all to see.
“And when it rains down, it’ll turn everyone in Gotham into a monster mutant like Batman”, Leo said, dreading in his voice. Having fought against mutant Batman was one thing, but a whole city? And not just any city, but your city. Yet another reason for Leo to hate everything the Foot and Shredder stood for.
“Dudes!”, Mikey yelled in eagerness from Batman’s table, causing all of you to turn, fearing the worst. Even Robin jumped from his chair, seemingly ready to fight whatever threat Mikey had seen. But there was no threat. Just Mikey screaming beside Bruce Wayne. “I’m freaking out here!”, he said, placing both hands on his head, as if he was trying to keep his mind from exploding. “Did everyone else know that Batman is Bruce Wayne?!”
The silence that followed, only broken by the smack of Raph’s face palm, spoke for the situation itself. You might not have been the biggest fan of Raph’s way of doing things, but you could not deny how much you related to that smack against his forehead.
“I mean, you knew the Batcave was under Wayne Manor”, Donnie said with a raised brow bone. He knew that his little brother wasn’t the sharpest knife in the draw, but he had never thought that such a revelation would take so long for Mikey to realize.
“I’m just saying it’s a lot to take in”, Mikey said, stretching his face in thought, before he rested his elbows against Bruce, causing Alfred to see red in the corner of his eyes. “Rich and cool! Like leave something for the rest of us guy!” Alfred let out a loud sigh, before he started moving Mikey away from Bruce, causing the orange clad turtle to yell out in protest at the butler. “I’m going, I’m going, okay!”
You looked at Leo with a questionable look, and all he could do was sigh with a small nod. Yes, Mikey was always like that.
“Do we have any idea where Shredder and Ra’s are building this machine?”, you asked, turning back towards Batgirl and Donnie, feeling Leo’s eyes on you, along with the small tug at the corner of his mouth. Apparently you were asking the right questions. And much to your luck, that question sparked a thought in Batgirl’s head.
“I don’t know exactly how Joker makes his venom, but I do know where the components would be”, Batgirl said, leaning over Donnie in order to press on the computer keys. His small flustered expression made you choke down a chuckle. Oh, how you were going to press Batgirl with your knowledge. Even Leo seemed to notice, enhancing small glances with you. Both of you knew something, that much was obvious. Leo poked at Donnie with a small finger, causing the purple clad turtle to scowl at him. “Ace Chemicals”, Batgirl continued, pulling up a picture of the facility. “It’s where the Joker was created, when he fell into a vat of, you know, chemicals. So if they need venom, they’ll be there”.
“But it’s walled off”, Leo pointed out, noting the high walls and barbed wire. “Easy to defend”.
“So what?”, Raph said, sounding frustrated. “If they’re dugg in and ready for a fight, then we bring them a freaking fight”, he continued, slamming his fists together with a dark smile.
“We aren’t doing anything”, a deep voice sounded behind you. You turned in joy, seeing Alfred helping your father up to stand, Robin running to his side in order to help.
“Master Bruce you’re not well”, Alfred said in concern, wishing Bruce would sit down once again.
“I’m as well as I need to be”, Bruce grumbled, taking the drop out of his arm, his gaze turning to the turtles. He stared at them for a moment, before walking to his neatly folded costume on a nearby table. “Batgirl and Robin are coming with me to Ace. (H/N) stays in the manor. The turtles are going home”.
“What?”, Mikey exclaimed in sadness and shock as Bruce pulled on his costume over his head. “C’mon, we know your secret identity now! Our team up have been surmounted!”
“I gave you a change”, Bruce said in a stern voice, turning directly towards the terrapin brothers. “You four are impulsive, and you don’t follow orders”. His eyes narrowing at them. “I want you out of Gotham!”
“Uh, father”, Robin said, his small frame stepping between them. “Look, it pains me to say this, but the turtles saved you in Arkham. They are valiant allies! Even the dumb one! Michelangelo”.
“Hey!”, Mikey exclaimed in a displeased expression. “Not cool!”
“If it wasn’t for them, Joker would have never gotten close enough to inject me in the first place”, Bruce said in a scowl as he closed the clasp on his cape, before pulling the mask up over his head, once again becoming the dark knight of Gotham City, before turning his back to them. “This is not up for discussion”.
Leo felt the burning stair from Batman, telling him to do exactly as he had been told too. To leave Gotham. But Leo’s heart stung at the thought, because leaving Gotham meant not just leaving the city, but leaving you. Leo once again thought back to the visions he had seen under the influence of the Crane Gass. How he had scared you. How you had feared him. He still did not know if these visions had been real, but never did he wish for those visions to be real. He hoped that none of it had been true and just his mind playing tricks on him. But in reality, Leo did not know. He remembered how scared that you had been when you entered Arkham, and how fearful you had been when you walked the halls, and the more Leo thought about it, the more it unsettles him. Maybe Batman was right. Maybe it was best if you stayed in the Wayne Manor where you could be safe while Batman, Robin and Batgirl headed out. And maybe, just maybe it was best if Leo and his brothers left. Leo had scared you once and he did not wish to do it again, even if it was going to hurt him.
“Maybe he’s right”, Leo mumbled, looking down at his feet, not wanting to meet your confused eyes. He could almost hear your heart crack just a little inside your chest, not wanting to believe what you were hearing as he turned towards his brothers. “Following Batman’s lead took us to Arkham and distracted us from Shredder”, he said, not noticing the deepening frown on Raph’s face. We’d be better off on your own”.
“No! No! He ain’t right!”, Raph yelled, pushing back his brothers so he could storm forward. He pushed the leader in blue so hard that he tumbled, only just catching himself before he fell onto you, your eyes meeting once again, sending shock waves through the two of you. Leo felt his mouth dry out as he stared into your eyes, knowing full well that they would be the hardest thing for him to leave behind. The hurt in your eyes and the way his heart was aching, making him freeze in place, unsure of what to do or say. Leo did not want to go. He did not want to leave you. Could he just stand there and look at you forever he would, but sadly, your father did want it to be like that.
“Look, Batman”, Raph said, making his way to your father, who was busy assembling his beloved utility belt. “I get it! The whole brooding loner thing, sitting on top of roof tops, mumbling about how you’re the only one that can stand up to evil in your own city. That’s my whole deal! I love that stuff! And I totally agree that my brothers are annoying, unbearably so sometimes”.
“Uhm”, Leo said, finally realizing that Raph had been talking the whole time the two of you had been locked in each other’s eyes. “Where are you going with this?”
“Teh!”, Raph said annoyed, turning back to Batman. “That’s why. When things get though, I don’t even bother with them. I go off on my own and do things my way!”
“He does do that”, Donnie said, Mikey agreeing with a sounding nod.
“Still doesn’t explain where he’s going”, you whispered, making Leo hum in agreement.
“Yeah, but here’s the thing”, Raph continued. “Every single time, I just get into more trouble and my brothers have to bail me out”.
"It's true!”, Mikey chimed in. “Every time”.
“Sure we make mistakes. Sure we make the wrong moves”, Raph went on, ignoring his little brother. “But we can’t get better-”. Raph grabbed onto Batman’s arm in order to turn him around to face him, making you, Batgirl, Robin and Alfred gasp in surprise. No one just grabbed onto Batman nor Bruce Wayne like that. That was just not how it worked. “-If you don’t trust us”. The turtles, seeming to understand the severity of Raph’s actions, watched with wide eyes. Donnie even covered his mouth, Leo’s eyes going wide and Mikey gasping out loud. Batman said nothing but just narrowed his eyes at the square jawed mutant, almost daring him to continue. “We’re a family, and learning from your mistakes together, is how a family works”.
“This is not a family”, Batman rumbled, bumping his shoulder against Raph’s as he walked past him. “It’s a team”.
“Ain’t that the same thing?”
That comment made Batman halt in his actions. It was as if those words had touched a nerve deep within him. Batman said nothing but stared forward, his thoughts running wild in his head. Raph’s words echoing in his head as he looked to Alfred, Robin, you and Batgirl and then to the turtles, only to notice how close all of you were standing. And how you and Leo seemed to seek each other out in the small crowd. Just like he had noticed the two of you do in Arkham. And on the roof. Even during your first meeting and fight together.
“You’re right”, he finally said, making you all stare at him in disbelief. You felt your palm begin to sweat as Batman made his way towards Leo, determination in his eyes. “Let’s stop Ra’s and Shredder”, he said, before extending a hand to the leader of the turtles. “Together”.
Leo looked at Batman’s hand, extending his own hand in order to shake it, when suddenly…
“Awesome! Dips on the Batmobile!”, Mikey yelled, jumping over the head of a growling Raph, skipping right by you in a rush and right through Leo and Batman’s handshake.
“Uh, we have our own ride”, Leo said after Mikey, not sure if his forgetful lille brother actually was able to remember it.
“You do?”, Batgirl asked Donnie in confusion, causing Donnie to beam with innocent pride, thinking of the van he had tuned up.
“Yeah, we didn’t walk here from New York”, Donnie smiled, secretly hoping that Batgirl would ask about the van.
“Don’t care!”, Mikey yelled, already inside Batman’s car, fastening his seatbelt. “Called the Batmobile!”
Batman looked from Mikey to Leo, his eyes lingering at him for a moment before giving him a small nod. It was time to find Shredder and Ra’s.

What if TMNT took place in São Paulo, Brasil instead?
Welcome to my Brazilian au, I made this character sheet of the Shredder
In my au, Saki and Yoshi are half brothers ( same mother, different fathers). When Yoshi was 3 years old his mother ended up marrying the leader of the foot clan and had Saki.
They grew up really close and when they got into adulthood, Yoshi was the best man to Saki’s wedding. Unfortunately one day Yoshi disappeared after a solo mission to enter a government facility and steal something.
All the clan assumed he died, so Saki was the next in line for the leadership, but he believed that his brother is still alive, and since then he started a search for him, using all the ways, legal and illegal to try to find him, his only clue is that somehow mutants are involved with his brother disappearance

Leo: I was only 16 when the Kraang invaded, we didn't know what to do and it felt like the whole world was our responsibility...and it didn't take long for that to become true
Raph: we were only 16 when Donnie disappeared, it didn't take long after that for Shredder to take over and we were forced into hiding, beginning a resistance against his regime
Mikey: I wasn't even 20 yet when my family died, I went into the mountains to die after that and before then we were fighting a war with the Foot clan that felt unending and often hopeless
Donbot: ....my early 20s were WILD guys
