If Rise had ever gotten to make the cut episode "Toddler Mutant Ninja Turtles" what would you have written for it in GitS? Would Ghost be de-aged as well or would he still be an adult and help Mikey wrangle the turtle tots?

Ooohhh that's such a good question... Both are INCREDIBLY tempting, but I think I'd go with toddler-ifying Ghost. I think that would be a lot more fun to explore, especially if the show already explored Mikey being the biggest brother.

When you said that the unluckiest person is most hopeful, it reminded me of Nagito Komaeda. If the universe were combined, do you think he would fair well having Anti Cosmo as his anti fairy?

Funnily enough, I feel like it would be Hajime who would have an anti-fairy companion. I mean, he’s surrounded by extremely skilled people! That would attract bad luck in some way for him. Nagito wouldn’t be good food for anti-fairies. Or Fairies. Or Pixies.

...Honestly, Fairies aren’t quite sure what food he produces. It’s like a weird amalgamation of luck, desire, greed, and all sorts of emotions they can’t disentangle. Like a crockpot gone horribly horribly wrong. Eating any bit of that would make any fairy sick.

What I did here is slightly divergent from the canon I’ve created for the Getting Into Trouble fics, and hasn’t been beta-read, but I hope you enjoy this little ficlet you inspired!

Jealousy

Neve watched as Rook slumped against Davrin, an arm slung around the Grey Warden’s shoulders, barely awake. It was sweet.

Or it should have been.

But Davrin’s arm around Rook’s waist and smirky smile made Neve want to go over and shove the two apart. A response that she well knew was unwarranted and ridiculous, but lying to herself had rarely served her well.

She had been the one to step back, that day in her office. To create distance. Rook had made her no promises, and she wouldn’t have accepted them if he had. If he wanted to cuddle up to Davrin after a night of drinking he had every right. Her feelings weren’t fair at all.

Of course, that didn’t lessen them at all either. Jealousy burned bright in her chest, and felt like fire behind her eyes.

Ugh. They could at least go to one of their rooms.

“Rook’s a cuddler.” Neve looked up as Lace handed her a glass of water before sitting down beside her.

“Sorry?” Neve asked, both curious and feigning innocence.

Lace shook her head, and gave Neve an amused smile that made her a bit nervous. “Rook. He’s a cuddler, especially when he’s been drinking. Me, Varric too…it doesn’t mean anything. He’d cuddle Manfred, if that’s who was there.”

Some of the burn receded.

Slightly.

“I’m guessing you learned that the hard way,” she speculated, and Lace chuckled.

“Something like that.” She shook her head. Her gaze as she caught Neve’s eye was shrewd, and Neve hoped their expert scout didn’t notice the flush creeping up the back of her neck. “You know why he doesn’t do it with you, right?”

“Who said I wanted him to?”

Lace looked down at where Neve’s fist was clenched next to her. “Riiiiiight.”

Kaffas.

“It’s because with you it would mean something to him,” Lace continued, voice soft beneath the din of Davrin and Taash swapping stories. “So, if you want it to mean something…I’m sure he’d rather be draped over you.”

Neve was beginning to regret the wine she’d drunk, as she fumbled for a response to Harding’s insinuations.

“Well. That’s…interesting.”

The dwarven woman smirked. “I’ll bet.”

She stood, and the smirk softened into a kind smile. “Just thought you should know.”

Neve sipped her water as Lace went to join Taash and Davrin’s conversation.

Maybe, just maybe, she should talk to Rook again. About him, and her, and the undefined and profound bond between them.

And then, maybe, next time he could lean on her.

After revisiting your "came back wrong" comic, absolutely wonderful btw, I came to a rather haunting realization.

Because it became true. But instead of Bloodmoon, it's Eclipse. And that's both much worse(for the characters), and much better(for the narrative).

Because both him and Lunar went through the same, and in a way seem to parallel each other, though that's probably me overthinking.

Both of them died. Both of them were blown to smithereens. Both of them came back after several months. Both found themselves in a body not their own. We've seen what they look like in every other universe.

Both of them came back wrong.

Lunar came back numb, quieter than before, with all their energy being a play. He came back running from unknown danger. They died a normal animatronic, and came back being more.

Eclipse is the opposite. He came back louder, erratic, full of madness. Where Lunar is running from unknown danger, he is sprinting towards it, not realizing the consequences until it's to late. Not to forget the star. Eclipse died being somewhat of a god, and came back as nothing more than a plaything, a puppet on a string.

In a twist of fate, they can relate best to each other now, and that might be the worst part for both of them.

Because what is there to do? Even though they understand, even though, one day, they might glance at each other and wonder "Do you feel the same?", they will never be able to confide in each other. Their relationship is beyond repair, and for good reason. Eclipse hurt Lunar, used and ab*sed him, and then blew him up.

This also opens up so much emotional baggage. What will Lunar think? Will he wonder "Do you regret what you did now, knowing how it felt?" Will a part of him feel the smallest bit of satisfaction? Will they ever be able to look at him at all, or will they forever hide away?

What about Eclipse? Will he feel guilty? He seems aware of the damage he has caused the celestial twins, even telling Ruin that he deserves what's coming for him, but he still showed no remorse when he talked to them.

I'm sorry this got so long, I am incredibly emotional about this right now, and I can't even begin to describe, how this makes me feel-

I know it was super traumatic when Leo bit Raph. But I can't help but draw Leon the size of a cat nibbling his arm and bunny kicking with no thought behind his eyes..

TEEHEE THAT'S SO CUTE 🩵!!! hehe that would have been way less traumatic for sure. I do like to think that thanks to lingering Krang instincts and some primal turtle instincts Leo does like to bite things. Though it would typically be his own hand and definitely some gentler gnawing rather than full blown biting.

God I did. All of the comics in the 40th anniversary were SO good, I especially loved the 2003 one. Splinter's just boasting about his kids. Also he threw Ch'rell through a window which feels like retribution for throwing Leo through a window. (ALSO HOW IS CH'RELL BACK A G A I N ???)

AND GOD THE REVEAL AT THE BEGINNING THAT RONIN IS FROM MIRAGE. AUGH. OUCHIE.

I was. Immediately thinking about Ghost FHGDKHG as I am wont to do. Just. Agh. Splinter died when the kids were still pretty young! They didn't look much older than they do in the show. I think it's hilarious that Draxum moved in with them though that's great hfgkdhgkd.

But jeez, Ghost with this heavy despair at watching someone who is not his dad but kind of is die. And then being hit with the "btw you have a brother and sister byeeee" he's so ANGRY. Like not only did Splinter NEVER TELL GHOST THIS, BUT ALSO. ALSO. SPLINTER DOES THIS AS HE'S DYING.

He's so angry. And in that first version, Leo's not there! So Ghost isn't even-- he's still trying to FIND LEO!!

Ough I kinda wanna write a one-shot for it but I would have to include a lot of post-GitS stuff that would be major spoilers for many things, and also some stuff is still up in the air about the movie so it would be hmmmm.

I have a complicated thought-process when it comes to GitS.

for real WHERE does the idea that [utdr humans] are nongendered so that "you can project on them" come from. their literal character arcs are about NOT being a blank slate to be filled in by the audience

i think i understand the assumption on some level for undertale, because there is a very intentional effort to make you identify with the "player character" in order to make your choices feel like your own (the beating heart of undertale's metanarrative lies in giving you an alternative path to violence against its enemies after all, and whether you're still willing to persue it for your own selfish reasons. YOUR agency is crucial).

of course, the cardinal plot twist of the main ending sweeps the rug from under your feet on that in every way, and frisk's individuality becomes, in turn, a tool to further UT's OTHER main theme: completionism as a form of diegetic violence within the story. replaying the game would steal frisk's life and happy ending from them for our own perverse sentimentality, emotionally forcing our hand away from the reset button.

i think their neutrality absolutely aids in that immersion. but also, there's this weird attitude by (mostly) cis fans where it being functional within the story makes it... somehow "editable" and "up to the player" as well? which is gross and shows their ass on how they approach gender neutrality in general lol.

but also like. there's plenty of neutral, non PCharacters in undertale and deltarune. even when undertale was just an earthbound fangame and the player immersion metanarrative was completely absent, toby still described frisk as a "young, androgynous person". sometimes characters are just neutral by design. it's not that hard to understand lol.

anyone who makes this argument for kris deltarune is braindead. nothing else to say about it.
