THE FOOL
| New beginnings | Innocence | Opportunity | Spontaneity |
He sets out on this new adventure, following and guided by the two new people in his life. They offer loyalty, protection and encouragement to continue on and learn the lessons he needs to learn. The mountains in the background symbolise the challenges ahead, but he keeps his eyes forward. The white flower in his pocket represents purity and innocence - the Fool, only in that the world has not made him cruel and bitter.

The Fool One of this year's "goals" is to allow myself to be messy again. Back when I'd work with acrylics and the like, my "style" was somewhat messy and intuitive and that was something I lost on my road of going digital. I also realized that for years it's been near impossible for me to post sketches/unfinished art. Like yes WIPs, but I never leave them at that. And so I wanna change that this year, to be able to take off this self imposed straight jacket. And Vash is my muse for those things and also he embodies the Major Arcana The Fool so well it felt fitting to do this first test with him ♥ I'm thinking mixing my interest (Tarot) with characters would be very fun! And I'd love to take commissions on it, do let me know if it's something you'd like :)

This scan took a while to clean up, because I wanted to redo the linework in the border to make it crisper, but! This is the final version of Card #00 in the MXTX-themed major arcana I'm working on; Shen Qingqiu as The Fool. One of the challenges I've set myself with this series is to incorporate as much of the "standard" iconography as I can; the Fool is generally depicted as a young man on a mountain path, carrying only a single bag and with a small brown dog at his heels. The Fool stands for a lot of things, but the big one is "new beginnings".
This was done mostly in watercolor - I used some marker for the skin, and there's some colored pencil in the final touchups, but otherwise, this is pen-and-ink and watercolor, and I'm quite pleased with how the composition and colors came out.

Jim Santangeli is making his own line of tarot cards based on the characters of RDR2, cleverly titled "OUTLAWS ORACLE - A Major Arcana Tarot Deck"
Rather than doing separate posts for each update, I will periodically update this post as new cards become available.
I will also be adding in the ALT Text how each character fits into its respective tarot card. These descriptions come from Jim himself.
"Starter" Deck (Aug. 09, 2023): Added Arthur, Sadie, John, Charles, Bill, Micah and Mary Beth.
Update Aug. 14, 2023: Susan Grimshaw. Funny that Jim picked that one specific moment. It shows you do not fvck around with a strong woman like Ms Grimshaw 😂
Update Aug. 28, 2023: added Javier, Dutch and Tilly
Update Sept. 28. 2023: added Pearson, Arthur (😭), Hosea, Sean

Major Arcana Tarot gifs
After finishing the 12 days of cinemagraph-mas I wanted to do more cinemagraph but was lacking inspiration on what to do.
I eventually decided to try and do a Tarot card. I didn't know which one to do so I decided to do all the Major Arcana.
Then I decided to just do all of them and post them all at the same time.
Thanks to wikipedia for having pictures of all the Rider–Waite set.

Persona 3 Reload Fool Card
I just wanted to make a version of the fool card for Makoto in honor of P3R! It's a bit late & had to be done a bit quickly, but that's fine. ^^ If anyone is in hopes I do a P3/P4 deck, just know that although it's not an impossibility, it won't happen until the P5 deck is complete & until I take a bit of time to ACTUALLY PLAY the games. lol. I have P3R now so hopefully that may spark something but I do need to branch out into my other interests too. ^^
P5 is fun & richer because I knew so much about it. So I can hopefully put that same level of quality to any future decks for those reasons. Also, I want to make a few playing cards again. ^^
