Hello Friendos! Sorry it has been a bit, I was busy with school but her I am. So a month ago I think I had this idea of what if the entire Hobbit characters is the Hobbit movies were muppets/puppets. I asked to my friends if that was something that they would see and they said yes lol So I decided to this little AU series of the Hobbit characters were I did some research to make the dwarves, bilbo, and gandalf into their own individual designs of muppet/puppets! There goes a lot to these designs since is it involves their actual characteristic as characters. So yea, I hope you like the drawing a this lil au series I made!

“Never ending pick up lines”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The dwarves were gathered in the kitchen, watching as Y/N expertly cooked up a storm. As they chatted and joked around, one of them – it may have been Bofur – suggested they try out some pick-up lines on her.
"Hey, Y/N," Kili said, grinning mischievously. "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"
Y/N rolled her eyes with a laugh. "Oh, is that your best shot?" she teased.
Bofur chimed in. “They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Looks like I’ll never take mine off you.”
Y/N laughed again, shaking her head. "Keep trying, boys."
Bilbo looked on in amusement, but as the teasing continued, he began to feel a little left out. He turned to Y/N with a sly grin. "Hello, my lady," he said, approaching her from behind hugging her waist. "Are you a thief? Because you stole my heart."
Y/N turned to face him, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she put her arms around him. "Oh, is that so?" she said, a hint of challenge in her tone.
Bilbo nodded, feeling his heart racing in his chest. "Yes, it is and I'd like to steal a kiss from you, too. As compensation."
Before he could react, Y/N leaned in and planted a soft, lingering kiss on his lips. The dwarves whooped and hollered, cheering the couple on.
As they pulled away, Bilbo was left feeling a little flustered but undeniably pleased with himself. "Well, I guess I've still got it," he said with a grin.
Y/N chuckled. "You never lost it, my love," she said, giving him another quick peck on the cheek. "Now, who's hungry for dinner?"

In my head Thorin's company looks something like...
Balin: *all these dwarves are grown up but it looks like I deal with a kindergarten*
Dwalin: *Fucking hippies*
Ori: *you see me as the quietest but I could kill you*
Nori: *mission impossible song in the background*
Dori: *along with Balin, seem to be the only adults in the company*
Bofur: *a single brain cell and it's just full of bad jokes*
Bifur: *curse everyone in khuzdul*
Bombur: *daydreaming is his state of mind*
Óin: *first-rate healer, but enjoys torturing his patients a bit*
Glóin: *constantly thinking of the most elaborate compliments for his beloved wife and little Gimli*
Fíli and Kíli: *they play the fool but in reality they are the most diabolical of minds*
Bilbo: *seems to be done with the dwarves but they are his found family...and he thinks no one can see how in love he is with the King under the mountain*
Thorin: *I want to look heroic and strong but I really need a hug... especially from the halfling*

Warnings: kissing, question related to sex, nudity, more kissing making out. I think thats all??
Tumblr media
Picture not mine!!!
The company had stopped hours ago at a small clearing for the night and even though everyone was tired no one seemed to want to go to sleep. You were talking with Bofur about some games you had back in your world.
"Oh and then there's this one called truth or dare" you said.
"How do you play it?" he asked.
"Do you need a board or cards or something for it?" asked Ori.
"No, the rules are simple. Everyone at their turn get to ask someone truth or dare. You choose truth and they can ask you anything and you have to answer truthfully. Dare and they can dare you to do anything and you have to do it" you explained.
"That sounds fun" Kili exclaimed. "Can we play?"
"Sure! I'll start asking. Who's in?" you challenged.
Most of the company said they are in exept for Balin, Oin, Dwalin and Thorin.
"Okay so Bofur truth or dare?"
"Truth"
"Okay umm.. do you take the hat off while bedding a woman?" you asked.
"What kind of a question is that? Of course i do not!" he said smugly.
"Okay now its your turn to ask someone"
The game went on like that for a while. Nori had gone skinny dipping and was now pretty much naked with a towel around him, Ori had to show some of his unfinished art and so on. Until it came to Kilis turn to ask someone.
"Y/n, truth or dare?" he asked grinning.
"Dare"
"Kiss Fili"
"What" said both you and Fili.
"Well the dare can be anything and i dare you to kiss my brother" he stated.
"Well alright then" you told him before walking over to Fili and leaning in before kissing him on the lips.
The kiss only lasted a few seconds but it still left you out of breath. You looked into his blue eyes before he leaned in to kiss you again, this time more passionetly.
You kissed for a long while before he picked you up and laid you on your back on the ground. You pulled away to take a couple of breaths and you were leaning back in until someone interrupted the two of you.
"Alright i get it that you like each other but get a room" said Thorin. You had not realised that you had all eyes on you the whole time. You started blushing but the you blurted out. "Well we could get a room if you could just let us stop in town for even one night"
"Alright then, we will stop in the next town so that Y/n and Fili can have a little privacy" he stated and went back to talking to Dwalin.
His statement earned a few thank yous from the company. You on the other hand were a blushing mess pinned under Fili.
"I will do more than just kiss you once we are in a private bedroom, amrâlimê" he whispered in your ear before getting up and walking to his brother.

Bofur x Reader - Loving Stares
This is based on a 'Sickeningly Sweet Relationship Bingo Card' that I found and forgot to save. So if I find that post, I'll add it here!
I'm a bit rusty since I haven't written since 2019, so please feel free to send requests or comments on anything I need to change! Thank you and much love! <3
✿ Words: 1,214
✿ Themes: Fluff
✿ Prompt: Staring into each other's eyes.
✿ Posted: 2/11/23
Tonight had been an especially frigid night. You had been tossing and turning just trying to keep your body warm by the fire. It was truly an unpleasant night. If you were on your back, your right side was cold. But if you were on your stomach your left side was cold. It was even worse when you completely faced or turned away from the fire.
After what seemed to have been hours (but was realistically only minutes), you sat up with a defeated sigh. There was no way you were going to get any sleep tonight. You looked around the clearing and over all of the sleeping dwarves. They all seemed so peaceful and content when they aren’t fighting orcs or fleeing for their lives. The light crackling of the fire and the soft breaths and snores soothe your thoughts.
You slowly stood up from your bedroll, moving close to the fire with your blanket wrapped tightly around your shoulders. A glint of eyes in the tree line caught your attention as you sat on a tree log next to the fire. You narrowed your eyes to try and get a better look at who it was, a small smile spreading over your lips. It looks like Ori was on watch. Silently waving at him, he returned the gesture with a bright smile.
What a sweetheart.
You turned your attention back to the fire, only now noticing how stiff your hands felt. Attempting to warm them, you lightly rubbed them together close to the fire. A slight breeze blew past, making your whole body shiver. You were so cold that jumping into the fire seemed like a viable option.
“Psst.” A quiet voice cut through the air, pulling you out of your trance. Your eyes jumped from dwarf to dwarf to skim the faces around the flames until you spotted Bofur, eyes slightly cracked open.
You silently tilted your head in question. His hand raised and signaled you over.
Bofur had always been the most approachable of the dwarves to you. When you first ran across them, they all seemed skeptical of you. But not Bofur, he accepted you with open arms and an open heart, making you feel like he genuinely cared for you.
He had been your go-to person when you need a lookout to wash up or if you generally needed help with something. Truthfully, you found yourself falling for him with every sweet thing he said or did for you.
One moment that stood out, in particular, was the first week you traveled with the company. Your body hadn’t been used to walking for long distances yet. Aches and cramps plagued your muscles with every passing day. One night, He came up to you with no words, just lifted your legs onto his lap and slowly started to rub your tense calves. His fingers were like heaven against your skin, applying just enough pressure to work out the strained muscles but soft enough that it didn’t hurt.
You stood again, crossing your arms to contain your light shivering. Slowly moving towards him and being as quiet as possible not to wake any of your other friends.
When you finally reached him, you took notice of how the flickering light of the fire licked over his skin deliciously. His hat was discarded to the side of his bedroll. You swallowed thickly, pushing down any depraved thoughts.
He didn't say anything as you looked down on him. He just smiled that lovely smile up at you, eyes half-lidded. His arms raised towards you causing your head to quirk in silent question. Slowly, the gears turned in your head, your cheeks heating up as his actions finally dawned on you.
He wanted you to share his bedroll.
“Oh, Bofur.” You started with a swift shake of your head “Uh- I shouldn’t… cant! I can’t.” You corrected yourself.
“Just lay down lass.” His voice was thick with sleep. You blinked for a few seconds before lowering yourself onto your knees at the very edge of his bedroll. He wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you forward onto his chest. You did your best to haphazardly toss your blanket on you both.
“Mahal (Y/N), you’re freezing.” He cringed, eyes clenching closed as your frozen skin meshed with his own warmth.
You placed your hands on his chest to push yourself up before speaking, “I’m sorry, I can go back to the fire.” Your breath hitched when his arms tightened around you, not letting you up.
Both of his eyes opened now, a subtle look of concern peeking out. “No. Stay.” The desire in his voice kept you locked in place. You waited for any sign of reconsideration but there was none.
Slowly lowering yourself back down onto him, you began shifting around for a moment, his arms loosening to allow you to get comfortable. As you slid off of his chest to lay next to him, his left arm moved underneath your head as his right rested on your waist.
You couldn’t help the content hum that passed your lips. He was providing enough warmth under the blankets for the both of you.
Everything was so quiet, despite the occasional crackle and snore. Time seemed to slow in this position. Both of you stared into each other's eyes like you were entranced. After a while, his right arm tugged you closer so your torsos were pressed together. You're sure that your face is bright red now. When his right arm slowly moved upwards, fingers lightly trailing against your skin, a shiver ran up your spine.
You open and close your mouth looking for the right thing to say, but settled on bringing a hand up to stroke one of his soft braids. His hand comes to rest on your cheek, thumb rubbing in warm circles.
Unknowingly, you both had been closing the small gap between each other. You could feel a light brush of his mustache against your cheeks.
So close…
Watching carefully as Bofur’s eyes moved down your face, pausing on your lips before making their way up again. Your heart fluttered excitedly, the cold air soon forgotten.
Bofur’s thumb lightly brushed over your bottom lip, leaving a hot trail in its wake. Your eyes flickered between his as you pushed forward, your lips connecting hungrily. You were completely at his mercy.
Despite Bofur's lips being lightly chapped, they were soft against your own. His tongue teased at your lower lip, moving into a light nibble. A soft moan escaped your throat as you parted your lips for him. Your tongues mingled together, he was so warm and sweet.
Bofur pulled back, littering a trail of kisses over your cheek and down to your neck. Any attempt to catch your breath was halted when he began to suck the skin meeting at your shoulder, a quiet whimper flitting past your lips. You could feel his grin widen against your flesh as he placed one last kiss on the spot.
He pressed his face into your hair, whispering a small, “Bunnanunê.”
You reached up, tangling your fingers in his hair. “What does that mean?” You hummed.
“My tiny treasure.” Bofur breathed before removing himself from your hair and taking your lips again.

Bofur: Hey, I say we go down there, kick Y/n's door in, and let them know that we’re in town.
Bilbo: That ain’t the way we do things here. We may have to go in there and run a con, drop a bug, do the smooth talking.
Bofur: Okay, you come with me, you do the smooth talking, let’s go.
Bilbo: No, we just can’t go in there and kick down Y/n's door. We need a plan.
Bofur: Well who makes the plans?
Bilbo: Thorin.
Bofur: Thorin, what's the plan?
Thorin: You guys are gonna go down there, kick Y/n's door in, let them know you’re in town.

Dating Bofur Headcanons
This may be a bit unusual, but I'm inaugurating my blog with a Bofur post because he does not get anywhere near the love and appreciation he deserves. Also, I have a lot of headcanons for a lot of characters. I'm not running out for a while.
Warnings: Alcohol consumption, inebriation
Word Count: 0.7k
- You first meet when the party has stopped in a town along the way near the beginning of their journey
- They're in the pub, making the worst sort of ruckus but at least their food and ale will make a pretty piece of coin for the barkeep
- He's... a little intoxicated when you get to know each other
- But that's really just because he's been (very obviously) staring at you since you walked in
- You think it's a bit strange that a dwarf is showing such obvious interest in you, but you'll go with it
- Unlike many other men who have shown interest, he keeps a respectful distance, no touching
- He's just attempting to flirt with you and flushing when you flirt back
- "You're quite funny," you giggle, oblivious to the way his companions stare at the interaction with confused awe. "Emil, some more pints for me and my friend here," you call to the bartender, settling a hand on his shoulder.
- You hardly even noticed that you brushed past the end of his braid
- When you look back at him, he seems to have temporarily frozen
- "You alright?"
- He gives you a tight grin and nods before laughing nervously. "Aye, just... may have had too many pints already," he excuses.
- "Ah, is there any such thing?" You joke.
- He chills out again pretty quickly (you know, with the central nervous system depression and all)
- As Thorin is rounding them all up to go find someplace to sleep, he decides he wants to leave you something to remember him by
- He pulls a mostly-finished whittled doll from some pocket in his coat, you weren't watching close enough to see exactly where it came from
- "Here," he says, nearly slurring, pressing the doll into your palm. "It's a gift for you."
- You raise your eyebrows with a smile, studying the doll from every angle. he was quite talented, actually
- "Thank you, Bofur," you say, leaning down to kiss him on the cheek
- Mans goes RED
- You think he stutters out a good evening before he's dragged off by Bombur and Bifur
- He tags along with Bilbo on his way back to the Shire
- When Gloin asks why, he has one simple answer
- "Well, my friend, I believe I made a long-term deposit of my own," Bofur replies, briefly removing his hat to smooth his hair.
- He knows, he knows it's a long shot
- You're a human and you might not even remember him
- But there's something about that night, the way you kissed his cheek, that he just can't shake
- And he wants to get as far away from the place where his king died as he can
- He just so happens to see you entering your house as he comes into town, your hair conveniently worn in just the same style as when you first met
- He wanders around for a few hours, not wanting to bother you when you've only just returned home or seem too eager
- When you open your door for whomever is knocking, you have to look down to realize that someone is actually there.
- "Good day, las--my lady," the strange dwarf says, hat pressed to his chest.
- "Good... day?" You greet. "I'm sorry, have I met you?"
- His face falls for a moment before he seems to have an idea
- He secures his hat back on his head, smiling up at you hopefully
- "Bofur!" You cry, surprised and delighted.
- "At your service, my lady," he bows briefly
- "Whatever are you doing here?"
- "I still have your figurine," you proclaim proudly, showing him in. "I hope you don't mind too terribly, but I made her some clothes..."
- You get to talking and, well, your town has always needed a toymaker
- So he sets up shop right next to your business; you're close enough to some mountains, at least
- You two become sort of local legend, in the "they're the strangest bunch we've had around for a long while" kind of way
- Not that either of you mind
- You love your eventual husband that's quite a bit shorter than you

Téir abhaile 'riú
Pairing: Bofur x f!reader
Summary: After Smaug took over The Lonely Mountain, Bofur and his relatives travelled far to find a new home. Although knowing it would never be the same as the place where he grew up, meeting who the dwarf could only describe as the love of his life could make things more bearable.
Warnings: slight mention of alcohol, no beta we die like men, overbearing sibling
A/N: I don't even know how, but suddenly I am very much in The Hobbit fandom again. And while listening to this playlist, I came up with this cute idea! I hope you'll like it!
Tumblr media
It has been a few years since Smaug took over Erebor, a wound still fresh in the hearts of many dwarven families. But dwarves were resilient folk and so when a portion of them came across The Blue Mountains, they quickly set to build a settlement there, knowing that their ancestors used to live in these mountains as well.
And while nothing could ever compare to Erebor, the dwarven settlers were happy with what they've build for themselves. The Blue Mountains were a great oppoturnity to start anew. With everything needed for all kinds of businesses to prosper in near vicinity, they quickly adapted to their new home, the memory of the great kingdom becoming a fond, but somewhat painful echo in their hearts.
It was truly a place of abundance. With the mountains themselves towering over their roofs, they were surrounded by thick and calm woods that seemed ancient. And if one wanted to, they could simply get all the way down to the seaside.
It also helped that they weren't the only ones who found their home in the embrace of the mountain range. There were many elven habitants in the woods and even human settlers scattered all around, making trading goods easy and accessible.
But it is true that the dwarves usually stuck by each other, venturing into other settlements only for business. The tragedy that struck them still hung around them like a thick fog and they didn't particularly enjoy all the whispers around them when they did make an appearance somewhere.
Bofur wasn't any different than his kin in this sense. While the dwarf liked to remain optimistic, being constantly reminded of what they had gone through everywhere they went was...unpleasant. Luckilly, as time went on, the commotion slowly faded and the dwarves blended into the rest of the habitants of The Blue Mountains.
Once a year, a big festival was held near the seaside, in the biggest human town in the area. Granted, it wasn't nowhere near the cities elves, dwarves, even some humans were used to, but nobody really minded, since The spring festival meant not only good music and fun all day and night, but also a big fair and since all races came and celebrated together on this rare occassion, it was a good oppoturnity to gain clientele.
The spring festival was an event the people in the port town held as a celebration of their sailors returning safely home from their travels during the winter. What started as a local event quickly grew into something much bigger though. Everyone wanted to meet the local heroes, hear their stories and most importantly, have fun.
And that's why Bofur and his brother were helping their families and neighbours pack and load all the things they wanted to sell at the fair onto carts, prepare the ponies and clean up for the festival. It was one of the busiest mornings in a very long time. There was so much noise all around, one might think they were going crazy. It would also take a good few hours before they descended to the port town, so everything needed to be perfectly ready.
Bofur was excited. He worked very hard throughout the winter to make the best toys he could and he couldn't wait to show them off to others. Seeing the eyes on children's faces light up, as their mouths hung open and they begged their parents to buy them at least one small figurine was a priceless experience. After getting everything onto the cart, he started helping Bombur with ingredients and equipment for his food stand. Bombur also worked hard, preparing homemade sausages and cheese, as well as picking the best vegetables and other foods. But Bombur was much more excited he will be able to buy some good quality fish to change up the daily menu for his family.
The two brothers chatted happily about this and that as everyone got ready for the journey. Bombur was excitedly ranting about how many ways he will be able to prepare the fish for his family after such a long time. Bofur chuckled and reminded him that if he serves nothing but fish for two weeks in a row like last year, Bifur might just smash a plate on his head.
The rest of the way to the town went in a similar lighthearted spirit. The weather was nice, the sun was shining, the air was fresh, and for the start of spring, it was pretty warm. it was magical, watching the new leaves growing on the old trees, as if they came back to life after months of short, cold days and long, even colder nights. Finally, they reached the end of the forest. In front of them were just fields, full of blooming flowers and some early bees here and there. They were gently swaying in the light breeze and were surrounded by the ocassional butterflies that woke up early in the year.
In front of their cart, Bofur could see a few others in the distance. He couldn't make out who exactly it was, maybe other dwarves from their town or perhaps some elves or humans. The silver shine of the sea water on the horizon made him smile. They were getting pretty close! And when he squinted, he could make out faint smoke coming from the port town, which wasn't yet visible.
"Come on, we need to hurry!"
Disturbed from his musings, Bofur looked around for the sing songy voice that called out. Realising it came from somewhere behind him, he was beginning to turn around, when a flurry of hair and clothes whizzed past their cart, jumping in the already tall grass right next to the road.
The person stopped a short distance from Bofur and looked back at whoever she was shouting at. Smoothing out her clothes, the girl, as Bofur saw, looked back at where the town laid ahead and said "I can see the smoke! I can't wait to dance around the big bonfire!" she giggled and looked back, shouting again "Hurry up!" before laughing and running along.
Bofur chuckled at the girl's enthusiasm. He almost wanted to turn back to face the road, when two very out of breath young ladies caught up to him and his brother. They panted heavily as they slowed to a walking pace. When they caught their breath, Bofur said "Your friend seems very excited."
The two women chuckled shakily. "Oh yes, but that's (Y/N). She loves The spring festival. She's a carefree soul, one could say." the taller one shrugged. "You can say that again. She's a good lass, but she's a handful. Always wondering somewhere, I swear she's trying to get herself into trouble. I'm just waiting for our parents to lose their minds one day." the shorter one, presumably (Y/N)'s sister, rolled her eyes, but her tone was playful. "Well, I should probably catch up to her, otherwise she'll just climb onto one of the boats and sail away on her own." the girl sighed and jogged off again, leaving Bofur with the two's friend alone.
"I assume you're travelling to the Spring festival as well?" she asked the dwarf sweetly. "Aye," he confirmed "I'll have a stand with toys for children and my brother here will have his food stand." he nodded towards Bombur, who silently nodded, not really having been interested in what was happening, although he listened. "Toys? Oh that's lovely! I might just stop by and get something for my little Dudon." she smiled softly. "That's an interesting name! Is he your little brother?" Bofur asked. "No, he's my son." the girl laughed "He will be three years old soon." "You're kidding!" Bofur's eyes widened "Wouldn't have guessed you already had a family." "I've been married for a few years now. My family is the biggest blessing I could have ever had." the girl sighed, before looking up at him "Where will your stand be located? I don't want to make a fool of myself looking for you." Bofur laughed "Near the center of the town square. So that my brother gets as many clients as possible."
The girl giggled and waved him goodbye, saying she should catch up to her friends before she'll get lost and ran off.
*****
The whole town was bustling with life. Music and laughter came from every direction, all kinds of people were on the streets and in the shops and pubs lining them.
Bofur was very busy. His toys were selling like hot cakes. The only thing he managed to do between serving customers and rearranging and refilling the range of toys he prepared was to glance at Bombur's stand from time to time. He seemed to be doing very well. All the people were leaving his stand amazed, often with their mouths dirty from his delicious food.
Hours were passing by in what felt like lightning speed, the only indication being the sun moving along the sky. As the day slowly came to an end, the streets slowly lit up and more and more merchants packed up their stands, their products sold, ready to just enjoy themselves and try not spend all they've earned that day.
It seemed no one would buy any toys anymore, people whizzing past in a hazy flurry, leaving only laughter behind, instead of curiously looking around. Just as he started packing up, a very out of breath young woman stopped before his stand. He realised it was the same woman of the three they met on the way to the festival.
"Running to see me eh?" he smirked playfully. He was rewarded with a playfully offended expression "Excuse me sir, I am married." the woman scolded Bofur before taking a look around his stand "My, my, the folks really plundered this place." she then looked at the dwarf, who was holding a wooden crate, ready to put the rest of the toys in "Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't realise you were packing up already! Is it alright if I buy one toy, I swear I'll be quick!" the woman fretted and Bofur laughed "It's alright, I can wait a bit longer. Take whatever you think your boy would like."
As the young mother's eyes scanned over Bofur's products she apologized again for coming so late, explaining it with "We lost (Y/N) again. Her sister is running all around to find her. Buying a toy completely slipped my mind, but I was looking around here so I thought I'd quickly stop by." she chuckled at the end and Bofur looked at her with curiosity "Aren't you worried about your friend?" "No." the woman laughed "Her sister is. (Y/N) is a grown woman, who can make her own choices. She's adventurous, sure, but she doesn't need to be coddled, no wonder she's hiding somewhere. I would be doing the same if I was her." The woman explained as she continued looking around the toys. At last, she picked a wooden fox and paid Bofur the price, leaving a small tip, for "being so kind". Bofur thanked the woman, bid her goodbye and wished luck with finding their friend.
Bofur packed the rest of his stuff and met with Bombur, who also finished putting away his products. They both decided to stay in town and enjoy the atmosphere. After all, they both worked hard the whole day.
Finding a place to have some shouldn't have been as hard as it was. Every inn they came across seemed packed to the brim, the rowdy patrons could be heard from outside. Finally, after wandering for what seemed like hours, they came across a small establishment in a tucked away alleyway. Laughter and music could be heard from the inside, but when the brothers peered through the windows, they saw that there were many seats to be taken. Walking inside, they discovered a small, cozy looking tavern. A few tables lined the walls, only some of them occupied. Right across the entrance was a bar with a few stools, probably for regulars. The dim lighting made the atmosphere more intimate.
The dwarves sat down at a vacant table and started a pleasant conversation about today. Although, Bofur mostly listened to his brother ramble excitedly about all the products he was able to trade or buy, and all the recipies that were already flooding his mind. Their one sided conversation was interrupted, however, when two jugs of ale were placed in front of them. Both brothers looked up at the same time to the one who brought them the drinks. They saw an older, small, stout woman smiling warmly at them. "Here you go gentlemen! Enjoy!" she said sweetly. "But we didn't order anything yet?" Bofur asked with confusion. "It's a gift from one of the patrons" the woman expained, her smile mysterious. Both brothers discreetly scanned their surroundings, but everybody minded their own business. "Well, we'd like to meet the person who sent this." Bombur exclaimed. He was a little suspicious, the chance of the woman pretending those drinks were a gift, only to charge them for them in the end was not small. On the other hand, if they really were a gift, they would like to thank the person face to face.
The woman smiled and thought for a second, before shrugging "I'll ask her." and then made her way back to the bar. Bofur and Bombur looked at each other. "So a lass, eh?" Bombur muttered. "You think she's pretty?" Bofur thought out loud. "As if that'd matter to me. I am happily taken if you forgot!" Bombur huffed and took out his pipe, stuffing it carefully with herbs. "You on the other hand..." he gave his brother a side eye, a small, teasing smile stretching on his face as he put the pipe to his mouth. Bofur rolled his eyes and was prepared to retaliate, before they were interrupted again.
"Good evening!" a voice chirped. Looking up, Bofur recognized the person standing at their table as (Y/N), the infamous troublemaker. "Didn't think we'd see each other again." she smiled. After a brief moment of silence, she added "You're welcome for the ale, by the way." Bofur felt his brother kick his leg under the table and as if he was just woken up from a trance, he scooted over, patting the space next to him "Yes! Yes, thank you, you didn't have to do that. Would you like to join us?" (Y/N) giggled and slid onto the bench next to Bofur.
As the day drew to a close and merchants were less and less busy, the working attitude fell off of everyone's shoulders and was replaced with relaxed fun, that escalated more and more with time...and alcohol. And the small tavern wasn't any different. Conversations became louder and laughter more frequent. Everyone was having a good time. Bofur, Bombur and (Y/N) weren't an exception. The woman exchanged stories with the dwarves, although Bombur let his brother tell most of the stories, as he could do it better. Bombur was content listening, sometimes adding in details his brother forgot, but he enjoyed more seeing how the two were closer and closer to each other.
When (Y/N) first sat next to Bofur, there was a small, but appropriate distance between them, like with any people who just met that day. But as the night progressed and both of them were getting more and more comfortable (and probably tipsy, Bombur drank less than half the amount Bofur and (Y/N) did, because at least one of them had to be sober enough to drive them home), the distance between them was smaller and smaller, and now they were practically leaning on one another.
Everyone was having so much fun, they didn't even notice someone approaching their table until someone tapped (Y/N) on the shoulder. She turned to the stranger, recognizing him as one of the patrons in the tavern. With a smile, she asked "Can I help you?" The man rubbed his neck in a nervous manner and spoke "I hate to interrupt you miss, but me and my friends were thinking of playing some tunes to brighten the mood and the good lady behind the counter told us you can play spoons...If you'd like to join us?" (Y/N) looked uncertainly at Bofur and Bombur, but they only smiled, Bombur inhaling smoke from his pipe and Bofur encouraging her "You can play lass? Well I'd definitely love to see that!" he grinned at her. (Y/N) giggled and stood up, taking two spoons from the older woman efore making her way to the table where the musicians were sitting. They were already taking out their instruments. Soon, lovely music could be heard on the street. Not too long after, people from the outside began flocking in, first to see what was going on, lured and intrgued by the swift melodies and soon the tavern was bustling with life. The conversation between Bofur and Bombur ceased, the former too busy looking at (Y/N)'s hands working the spoons together, creating interesting rhythms.
After maybe an hour, the small establishment was filled with people. All tables were full and who couldn't sit was dancing in the open space. Some more musicians joined the original ones and (Y/N) was now more or less sitting by them and enjoying herself. The table where Bofur and Bombur were sitting at was no longer occupied by just them, but other people as well, strangers. They made conversation amongst themselves, not caring to include the brothers, so they just looked around, content in their silence. But Bombur noticed his brother's eyes always ending up on that girl. Once he had enough of Bofur's oggling, he nudged him across the table, motioning with his head towards her. "Ask her for a dance." he told him and Bofur shook his head, although the grin on his face suggested he was entertaining the idea even before Bombur asked. He stood up and carefully made his way around the dancing folk towards the band.
When he reached (Y/N), he smiled at her, although a bit sheepishly and extended his hand towards her, bowing slightly. She looked up at him and gently put her hand into his, letting him pull her up. "I thought you'd never ask." she smiled smugly at him.
They twirled around for what felt like eternity. His hands on hers, on her waist, her hands on his shoulders, their faces so close to each other, their breaths mingling. (Y/N)'s eyes rolled around, laughter pouring out of her pretty throat. Bofur's eyes seemingly couldn't leave her though. While hers were full of amazement and sparks, his held a tenderness that would surely make any girl swoon if they'd see it. And she looked at him. Her smile became more gentle, her lips slightly parted as they gazed into each other's soul.
"There you are!" someone grabbed (Y/N)'s arm tightly and oulled her away from her dancing partner. It was her sister and she was quite mad. "Do you realize what time it is?! I was looking for you all over the town!" she spewed at her, while (Y/N) only managed to blink, stil dazed from the moment she just had with the handsome dwarf. "It's time to go home." her sister decided and tried pulling her to the exit. (Y/N) pulled out of her grasp and signaled for her to wait a moment. She turned to Bofur, who was pretending to not listen, and grabbed his hand, making him look at her. She smiled sadly and kissed his cheek. As she let go of his hand and turned towards her sister, who started gesturing wildly and was probably trying to figure out what she just witnessed, Bofur grinned like a mad man. He touched his cheek carefully and mumbled "Till next time then, lass..."

Tumblr media
Rivendell was a surprising to see. Gandalf really pulled a fast one and Thorin was not happy. You begin to travel across a bridge that has a deep chasm below and through the archway. Once in the center you are greeted with a brunet elf.
“Ai Mithrandil.” (I couldn’t find a way to spell it) “India!” Gandalf says with a smile. As this greeting takes place you look at your uneasy dwarf friends. they are whispering amongst themselves and sizing up the Elvish guards as well as the one speaking to Gandalf now. As you look between the two you feel someone slide next to you. You look down to see a big brown hat and a bown leather jacket.
“Hello Bofur.” You say with a smile. “How’d you reckon this place be hm?” He whispers to you and you sigh.
“I wouldn’t know. I haven’t been here before.” You say.
Bofurs eyes seem to widen and his pale face begins to turn red with a blush. He looks down and away. Before you get to question there is a sudden shout from Thorin. “Close ranks!” He shouts.
You suddenly find yourself as well as Bilbo being shoved to the middle of the company. You feel a protective arm at your hip and look down to see Bofurs hand resting upon it. You know it is out of protection so you don’t think of it as malicious intent. Though you are a thousand percent without any doubt that Bofur and anyone in this company is capable of doing such thing.
Horses begin a two layer circle around all of you. You see one Elf in particular wearing Red armor which is different then the rest.
“Gandalf!” He exclaims.
You can only assume that this is Lord Elrond. They speak in Elvish tongue for a time. You understand it but feign ignorance as to not worry the company.
“Strange for Orcs to come so close to our borders...” Elrond looks to Gandalf and then to the company.
“Something or someone has drawn them near.” Gandalf responds almost immediately.
“Ah, That may have been us.” Gandalf says.
Lord Elrond turns toward the company as Thorin steps forward.
“Welcome Thorin, Son of Thrain.” He says with a slight smile.
“I do not believe we have met.” Thorin says skeptically.
“You have your grandfather bearing. I knew Thoror when he ruled under the mountain.” Elrond  laments.
“He made no mention of you.” Thorin bites
Elrond pauses before speaking. You stifle a giggle as Elrond makes his kind words sound like an insult. Gloin seems to take the bait as he raises a voice in saying. “Does he offer us an insult!”
Gandalf sighs as he says. “No Gloin he is offering you food.”
Minus you and Bilbo the rest lean into each other and begin to whisper. Gloin turns and nods toward the Elf which leads Lord Elrond to go up the stairs with the company and you in tow.
It has been a while since everyone has been allowed to bathe and eat so they do just that. You decided to take your time with a bath so you are out later then everyone else. You decided to wear a gown that Lord Elrond so graciously gave you - Though you know you will be leaving soon enough - As you step out everyone stills and looks in your direction.
“I almost forgot you were a woman under all those mens clothes you wear!” Fili says with a laugh.
Your face flushes with embarrassment but you hear a hard thud and look over to see Fili holding his head with Bofur behind him. You decide to ignore and sit at one of the farther tables. Though you mainly eat meat you didn’t mind the greens on your plate. You knew of the Elves choice in food. You feel someone sit next to you.
“Don’t listen to the lass they don’ know what their talkin’ about.” You hear Bofur say.
“Thank you my friend... I know it is all in good fun, but it is nice to look and feel beautiful sometimes...” You say.
Bofur seems to deflate slightly at your statement. “Yer beautiful all the time Y/N.” He says with a smile.
This causes you to blush this time out of bashfulness. “Thank you Bofur.” You say with a smile.
You suddenly feel him cup your cheek. His thumb runs over a small cut on your cheek.
“How ya feelin’? Took a nasty fall... Nearly lost ya...” He says sadly.
“I’m fine... I had a handsome dwarf come to my rescue.” You say as you begin to remember the events of today.
“This way!” Gandalf exclaims as you rush between boulders.
Radagast the Brown has offered himself as a distraction, but unfortunately it only lasted so long. The sounds of death from a pack mate has caused the rest of the Orc hunting party to follow. Now you are running toward a big boulder. As you were running however you trip on a rock causing you to fall and skid your palms along the rocky ground. You feel the rush of blood enter the wounds before exiting. You feel small drips of blood trail down your cheek. You reach and touch it to see that there is indeed blood.
You go to stand up only for feel a kick to your side. You yelp in pain as you are suddenly tossed on to your back. You look up to see the hideous Orc scum. He is holding a spear. You pulls his arm back to strike.
“NO!”
You hear someone cry and a war hammer is meshed to the Orcs face. You see the back of Bofurs brown jacket. There was a cry of pain from the Orc as it is knocked to the ground. There is one final grunt from Bofur as he smashes the Orcs head it. Bofur immediately turns to you and reaches a hand out to you. You grab it and he hoists you up and you both run for the hole in the ground.
Without uncupping your cheek he reaches for one of your hands and rubs his thumb along the bandages. You can see that he is beginning to get into his own head. You go to speak but he cuts you off.
“Can I braid your hair?” He asks with hope in his raised voice.
“W-what? Are you sure? You kn-” “I know what it means  amrâl (Love).” He says.
“In any tradition hair is very important. I want to use this as a sign of faith, fate, and... something more if you wish.” He says in a hushed tone.
“Bofur...” You place a hand over his which is on your cheek.
“I would love it... Would this be a courting braid?” You ask as your face seems to be getting more red by the second.
“I-If ya will have me it is.” Bofur says who has an equally red face.
You smile with a nod and turn around with your back facing him. You here him shuffling and muttering to himself.
“Where is that bloody bru-” He is cut off with a thud.
You hear him grunt as you here slight chuckles from behind you. What you didn’t see was that Kili threw a brush into Bofurs head as the rest of the Company chuckles.
You feel him start at the bottom of your hair with the brush. He is muttering to himself some more. “I... I will say I am not very good at braidin’ hair...” He says.”
“I will love it either way...” You say with a smile.
Then there is silence. The light tugs on your hair as he takes the three stands and overlaps them.
“What are you thinking Bofur? I can hear it.” You say lightly.
Bofur chokes slightly. “I... I was thinking that... Maybe when we reclaim Erebor. I will make a bead for ya. To ya know. Go in yer hair?”
“You wouldn’t have to Bo...”
“How else would I be able to braid yer hair when we wed?”
“W-What!” You exclaim.
“Yes. By the time we reclaim Erebor I plan on marrying ya. This braid will be a promise to that.” You stay silent for a moment until he is done.
You turn to him and cup his cheek. “Well know now that when this is all over, my answer will be yes.” You say breathlessly before placing a kiss on his cheek.
You were surprised blood wasn’t leaking out of his pores with how red his face was.
“W-Well get some sleep Lass. We leave early.” He says with a whisper before scurrying away.
You giggle and wave to him. You find yourself unable to sleep that night which may curse you in the morning, but you know in the end it would be worth it.
