🎤Hair ties🦎

Imagine: playing with the hair of the Madrigal twins.
🦎🎤☀🦎🎤☀🦎🎤☀🦎🎤☀🎤🦎☀🎤🦎☀🎤🦎

🦎☀ • Camilo doesn't really let anyone touch his hair, well besides his mamí. But he doesn't get a choice in that one, mostly because he is a mama's boy and can't deny his mama when she asks to brush his hair for old time's sake.
🦎☀ • When you both started dating he was ready to give you the hairbrush and any hair ties he could find in Casita, Camilo might be a natural flirt but when he falls he falls hard.
🦎☀ • he sits on the floor against his bed as he reads the new comic his Papí gave him for his birthday, leaning back as you run your fingers through his curls. He practically purrs at the feeling. It relaxes him every time.
His hair is actually very smooth and barely has any knots, mostly from the trauma he gained from his mother when he was younger about not keeping his hair well-kept as she yanked the hairbrush (if you know you know)
🦎☀ • Once you finished taking two sides of his hair and pulling each side tightening the hair tie and securing the high bun, his bangs hung around his face like his Mamí. He looked to his side stretching to see himself in his mirror from his sitting position and smiled. He liked it.
His Mamí was complimentary of his new hairstyle and was pleased to match with her son she had a rainbow over her head the rest of the day.

🦎🎤 • yeah. No. He doesn't let anyone touch his hair, and practically runs from his mamá when he sees her rushing toward him with a hairbrush, "Carlos Control that hair, or I'll do it for you!"
"No! Mamá it's my hair!"
*thunders*
🦎🎤 • When you start dating, it'll take some time before you get the privilege of touching his hair. He will try and hint at wanting his hair played with by resting his head in your lap but angles his head so his hair is perfectly in reach and accessible if you still don't get the hint? He huffs before grabbing your hair and placing it on his head.
🦎🎤 • His head rests on your lap as you both talk about your days (well, it's mostly just him braging about all the successful pranks he pulled that day) as you play with his hair. His hair is soft but has tangles for sure, no matter how many times his mamá lectured him about protecting his hair as he slept and detangling it regularly as she ripped a hairbrush through his curls before using a mountain of products to help with the detangling process it just never stuck.
But if you take the time to detangle his hair gently with few tugs as possible, he would appreciate it even if he won't say it out loud.
🦎🎤 • He barely notices his hair is in a high bun until he sits up and his hair doesn't cover one of his eyes like it usually does. He kinda just grumbles but is too lazy to untie the scrunchie knowing he would receive an earful if he just yanked it out not only from you but from his Mamá.
His mamá is very grateful for you and your service, if she had to detangle his hair one more time she was sure to thunder from his constant disregard of her words.

Luisa: Why is Mira standing on a chair?
Dolores: She likes to feel tall.
Luisa: And why is Camilo also on a chair?
Dolores: Mirabel is the only one shorter than him and he refuses to let her be taller.

If talking about all your aus, in which Isabela and Luisa have the best relationship (as much as this word can apply to those two. Also not counting the newest au because Luisa is a toddler in there) And in which au they have the worst relationship?
Hmm… I’ve not really thought about it before.
On a scale of best to worst (not including Switcheroo AU or Actor AU):
Reincarnation, Ride the Cyclone - annoying sister banter
Facade, Fracture, Perfect Twins, Whispers - neutral
Luminous and Imperfect - bitchy
Modern - hatred
Royalty - Luisa wants to crack open Isa’s skull
Reincarnation is the best, but that might be a bit of a cheat answer. As it continues long after canon (remember they were well into their thirties when they died) - while most of the others AUs take place during the canon age time - so they had time to heal and gain more of an understanding of each other. They are still competitive and fight and annoy one another, but it’s very playful and there’s no hard feelings. Their relationship is pretty much the same in Ride the Cyclone though.
Royalty is the worst. They never spent much time together. Luisa is off leading their (cold family) side in the war for Isabela and basically hears that Mirabel was held captive, Isa didn’t do shit and subsequently, Mira died. Frankly hurt and pissed, Luisa switches sides and stops her army from fighting, allowing Dolores’ side to swarm the city and capture Isabela. Pay back is a bitch.

Headcanon: Camilo and Mirabel are best friends
Even though I think this headcanon is adorable, I don't really see it. I'm not sure why, I just don't. But, it is cute still 💖

Do the 'Perfect twins' and 'Switcheroo' Miras have the same gifts?
No, actually.
And, as I’m feeling generous, let’s reveal gifted Mirabel’s gifts.
Her individual gifts are all relatively mind based, relating to her role as the brains (to Isabela’s beauty and Luisa’s brawn). And also provide a use to the town… and isn’t going to cripple the textile economy.
Perfect Twins Mira can see and communicate with the dead. If she holds onto another person, she can let them see/hear the dead too for a short time - but it takes a LOT out of her and she subsequently can’t do it often. She mainly provides Alma with a connection to Pedro. To the point, she’s rarely regarded as her own person and instead just a messenger or a mail bird (as Isabela and Dolores also nickname her). She sees the dead the exact way they looked at death: gore and all. It terrifies her; she hates her gift and frequently tries to avoid talking to ghosts. She does, however, have a habit of talking to Pedro and sometimes doesn’t make it clear she’s talking to a ghost at all. …See? There was a reason why Bruno’s creeped out by her.
Switcheroo Mirabel got a different gift (mainly to prevent the same storyline, especially as a favourite again) and I liked this better, but couldn’t think how to work it before. I gave her empathy and emotional healing instead. Given her huge perception and understanding of her family’s welfare in canon, this was on track - and gave a healing effect similar to her mother; because she’s Julieta Junior. She feel everyone else’s emotions, but can also cool/tame other’s more intense emotions; yes, this is partially why Pepa is so chill. Her emotional healing works through her embroidery. She has to properly know the emotion or thought she’s “fixing”. And she doesn’t/can’t make clothes (Julieta doesn’t do full course meals for the town), she just embroiders a quick pattern or symbol onto someone’s pre-existing clothes - typically close to the heart.

How the Madrigal twins resemblance Bruno
First, Camilo:
Camilo is the only one who wears a ruana like Bruno (they are DEFINITELY theater kids)
Tumblr media
And they both love Julieta's arepas (the looks say it all)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bruno has big hands and Camilo seems to be the only grandchild who has big hands as well (like tio, like sobrino)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, Mirabel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And unlike the rest of her family, Mirabel doesn't sew something on her skirt for Bruno, instead, she wears green glasses
Plus, her curls are more like Bruno's (Sorry, Julieta)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yeah, i can't put anymore photos so I'm just gonna skip to the last detail about the THREE of them
Camilo wears yellow, Mirabel wears blue, what happens when you mix yellow and blue?
It's green, baby!

Encantober - Head Pats
If Bruno had his wits about him, he might have seen his fate as he entered the kitchen.
If his head wasn't pounding with a sharp, unrelenting ache and the mid-morning sun wasn't so aggressively bright, he might have seen Mirabel's small fist held in suspension over the coffee cup, might have seen her pudgy fingers splay wide as they released a mountain of salt into the already opaque grey liquid. If his mind hadn't been clouded with anxious thoughts of the future and its impending collision with the present, he might have heard Camilo bickering loudly with his prima-partner-in-crime about whether their concoction required precisely one or two pinches of cayenne seeds. Indeed, if he'd gotten even a smidge more than a mere hour's rest, he might have registered the faint bite of vinegar still lingering in the air, rising from damp puddles where the clumsy dexterity of the children had occasionally overshot the cup as they prepared their very own magic potion—a potent poison to ward off the evil spirit they'd heard the townspeople say prowled among them in their Casita.
As it was, he was neither clear headed nor alert nor rested, and so he wandered into the clutches of his cruel fate without even an inkling.
"Morning," Bruno murmured, his words blurring at the edges.
Mirabel and Camilo's heads shot up from where they bent together over the cup, backs ramrod straight and hands behind their backs.
"Buenas, Tío Bruno," they said in unison, a sweet chorus of innocence.
Bruno rubbed one eye roughly and cracked the other open enough to see the cup, now abandoned in the center of the kitchen island.
"Ah look at that, you kids saved a cuppa coffee for your old Tío?"
They looked up at him with wide eyes. Camilo nodded his head ever so slightly and Mirabel bit her lip. Bruno didn't think much of it. He probably looked a ragged mess, frightening to anyone, really.
"You're good kids," he rasped, patting them both on the head as he swept past, scooping up the cup as he went. He heaved a deep sigh as dragged himself out the kitchen doorway, back toward his tower.
"Milo," Mirabel hissed loudly, leaning toward her cousin, eyes huge behind her glasses. "But that's is supposed to be for the monster!"
Camilo hushed her and looked around quickly. It even hears your dreams, the townspeople had said.
Mirabel leaned even closer. "But Milooo, is it going to give Tío poisonous in his body and make him died?!"
"No, dummy, that's ony papaya seeds," he shot back, but he gave one last uncertain glance toward the courtyard.
"Phew," she sighed, slumping back onto her stool with relief. "Good thing we didn't added those yet."
Just then, a great cloud of sputtering and cursing erupted from the top of the courtyard stairs, echoing with bouncing resonance around the previously quiet walls. Camilo and Mirabel bolted from their seats, giggling behind muffling hands as they followed a path of clanking, quivering tiles that Casita furnished along their escape route.
