I often find myself needing to be around other people studying or needing just another person around to keep myself accountable and on task. But that's not always possible...

Today a study livestream was recommended to me when I put on my study playlist. I clicked on it and it helped tremendously! There's just something about seeing another person do school work that helps me stay focused...

To do this, I...

Opened my study playlist

Had the live stream on another tab and muted it

I had only the livestream visible while I worked on my homework

The cool thing was that if I needed to work on another tab to do homework I totally could(I could still focus) because I knew I could simply click back over to the livestream and see someone across the world was doing their homework too! 🙂 At the same time as me! (Relatively)

Typing that out now I sound crazy but I hope this helps someone...

So, the thing about tma is that it made realize fears i didn't even thought I had??

Like i know I'm afraid of being alone, and for the longest time i was terrified of the dark, up to the point where I would have full ass meltdowns if I was left alone in a dark place.

All that i expected to be triggered by. I thought, well, the moving dolls and the derealization and the loneliness are going to be hard to swallow and I'll probably have to skip some parts. I thought the eye and the stranger episodes were going to be the worst, mixing that feeling that something is always looking at me, and that voice that tells me nothing is real and I'm dead or somewhere else??? Yeah, it didn't seem like a good idea. I still got into the podcast because I'm an idiot who likes to suffer and also gay

But??? The bugs??? I love bugs! Bugs are cute and fun and funky and so interesting, how could I ever be afraid of bugs?

BOY I was wrong. The podcast made me remember things I didn't even know happened. I discovered I'm horrified by the idea of infestations. Bugs crawling in my skin and things growing on my insides without me being aware of it? Something spurting out of face, eating my eyes, crawling in my ears. I almost puked when the girl exploded and that was barely scratching the surface with the Jane Prentiss ordeal. The worse thing is that a lot of the times i didn't even notice i was so affected until I went to sleep and woke the fuck up after dreaming there were maggots in my bed, or that i was full of ticks and fleas or whatever the hell my brain said "oh, you know what would be really fucked up? :))"

NOTHING else affected me that much, not the eye, not the dark or the fucking lonely or any of the other fears i was SURE we're going to trigger me. The closest that came to it was the buried in the cave episode, but it only lasted as long as I was listening. When the episode finished i got to take a deep breath and think about anything else.

And apparently it's always been like this? I told my sis all this and she said something like "oh, yeah that seems about right" and i was like ???? And she goes "remember that time you were sleeping at my house and a beetle touched your hand and you spend the rest of the night crying because you thought it bite you and you felt like you had fever? Also remember that time you touched a roach in grandma's bathroom and started to hit your hand on the carpet because you still could feel it? And that weird vocaloid song about an infestation that didn't let you sleep for a week because any time you thought about it your blood pressure went yoo-hoo?"

And I'm on the phone like [insert surprised pikachu's face] because i??? Didn't remember any of that?? But somehow tma managed to revive my old fear of being infested by bugs. And I actually adore it? It's fucked up of course, but i did this to my self expecting something like this to happen, and it did! I love it!

And on top of it it's gay! how great is that?
