Everyone agrees that Adrien and Marinette are in a poly relationship but nobody can agree on who the third is.
Alya insists that it's Kagami. Kagami thinks it's Alya. Chloe argues that it's Zoe. Zoe is sure it's Nino. Nino knows it's Luka. Luka won't tell anyone who he thinks it is (but he thinks it's Rena Rouge).
Adrien and Marinette, meanwhile, are wondering what the rest of their polycule keeps arguing about.

Evie’s Knife Fun Time
+
Evie is going to die.
Not from the cold, although if she's being honest with herself, the cold is bad enough tonight. Her tower doesn't have the amenities that one would expect a princess to have, even one living in exile and disrepair like Evie and her mother are. She doesn't have a fireplace in the tower, and although she has the option of sneaking downstairs to curl up in front of the fireplace in the main hall, her mother loathes the reminders of their situation, and absolutely hates it when Evie sneaks out of her room. A proper princess is supposed to stay in place until she is summoned, and sneaking down to rest in front of the fire is fine for a simple handmaiden, but unacceptable for someone like Evie, no matter how cold it is or how drafty her room can be in the winter.
No, Evie is going to die tonight for a much stupider reason. Somebody is trying to break open her window with a butcher knife, and they're not even doing a good job of it.
The knife pokes through the gap between the window and the tower wall again. It would be quicker for the person to just smash open the window, murder Evie in cold blood, and be done with the whole thing. It might be the cold, or the hour, or the fact that Evie had been asleep under her nest of blankets before the sound of the knife chipping the ice off her window lock woke her up, but she can't figure out why the person outside isn't just smashing the window and swinging inside to murder her instead of bothering with this whole slow and ominous chipping business.
It's not one of her crew breaking in to rescue her from the clutches of her mother. She knows it's not, because Carlos was under strict orders to stay home and protect his house tonight, and his mother will do something even worse than letting him freeze if he sneaks out.  Mal is sensitive to the cold, and informed all of them at school that she was going straight home to the hideout to wait out the cold snap in relative comfort and away from her mother. Jay’s the most likely one to sneak out and try and keep her company, but he has lock picks and charm enough to sneak past her mother's halfhearted attempt at a front door trap, and besides, he's staying with Mal tonight.
So. Not her crew. Probably someone stupid, or desperate, or both.  Likely someone who wants revenge against Evie, or her mother, or maybe both of them. Someone who's not brave enough to attack in broad daylight, but is bold enough to try breaking into her tower on the coldest night of the year.
Probably someone from school, then.
Evie's debating the relative merits of a) screaming bloody murder until her mother comes running in with the crossbow, b) picking up the club under her bed so she at least has a shot at bashing the attacker's head in, c) opening the window from the inside and hopefully throwing the attacker down to their doom, or d) putting her head back under the covers and accepting that death by butcher knife might be preferable to death by dealing with her mother at this hour, when the window pops open.
"I'm s-s-s-sorry," the blurry, dark figure outside stutters. "S-sorry, Evie. Sorry. Don't push me out."
Evie, who had been fully prepared to take option B, stops.
“Carlos?”
“Yeah. S-sorry, Evie. I really am sorry.”
Evie doesn't feel vindicated, exactly. Princesses aren’t supposed to feel things like that, as a rule, but idiot from school was her top guess at who would be stupid enough to try breaking into her window with a butcher knife, and it doesn’t really matter right now that it’s her idiot, because she’s right and she’s probably not going to get murdered tonight, so. That’s a major win in her books.
However.
"Why would you use a butcher knife to break into my room?” Evie does not shriek, because she is mature and experienced and also she really, really doesn’t want her mother to catch on. “I was going to push you back out the window! I was going to let you die! My mother would kill us both, again, if she found you in here!"
He ducks his head. Stars above, Evie could have murdered him and not even known until morning, or possibly even later, if the snow had covered his body quick enough. "I know. That's why I'm sorry. Fuck, why is your room so cold?"
Evie resists the urge to wrap her arms around herself. She will not act like some common teenager. "I don't have a fire.” she says shortly. “And I was in bed before you so rudely broke into my room. Not that I’m not thrilled to see you, but why are you here? I thought you were supposed to stay home and guard the house tonight?"
"My mom left. Decided it was stupid to stay in town when she has a standing place at the mud springs. She brought Horace and Jasper with her. So I'm alone if I stay there.” Carlos explains. He looks half dead, and honestly, Evie’s more than half surprised that he didn’t freeze on the way up, and shocked he even made it through the walk over. The snow is bad tonight, so bad that she can’t even see more than a few feet outside her tower. Walking through it must have been hellish.  “There's no heat, and I d-d-didn't-- didn't feel like freezing alone tonight. Sorry about the knife. Your window froze shut."
Carlos is visibly shivering as he fails at working the window closed, which is probably a good thing. At least, as far as Evie can remember, it’s a good thing. The Isle doesn’t usually get this cold, so she hasn’t had a lot of practice with hypothermia before. According to the book she stole from the school library, once the hypothermia sets in, he'll stop shivering, and even though Evie is still upset about the assumed imminent death she was facing a few moments ago, she'd really prefer not to lose her best friend to hypothermia this early in the winter.
"You're an idiot," Evie says bluntly, sweeping forward to actually close the window. With her functioning hands. Which she has, because she’s not frozen half through from being an idiot and walking through a snowstorm. "If you'd come to the front door, I would have let you come up."

OT4 + HOTD AU? Who's team green and who's team black? What house are they in? Are they active in the dance or keep a safe distance? How would they personalities change? 👀
the ot4: house of the dragon au
this kind of spiraled out of control and would obviously need a shitton of work to smooth everything out but here's what i (and annie) put together quickly. a lot is inspired by the book and show but a lot had to be changed around to make this work. also the hp canon titles and social statuses are waaay different in this one.
“then the storm broke, and the dragons danced.”
Tumblr media
when king aegar I targaryen names his second son his heir instead of his eldest, the seeds of civil war are sown. aegar's choice is heavily influenced by a prophecy passed down in his family since the days of old valyria, and all signs point to his younger son being the prince that was promised. or so aegar believes...
Tumblr media
prince elyan grew up as the prince of dragonstone, destined to one day rule over westeros. but his father deemed him too rash, too unpredictable to ever sit the iron throne, so he named elyan's little brother theodric as his heir on his sixteenth nameday. theo has no taste for ruling but he wanted to make his father happy so he obliged. when king aegar dies only a few short months later, the realm is torn asunder. many lords and ladies still deem elyan the rightful heir, while some, such as the hightowers, lannisters, and baratheons support theodric's claim (maybe because they respect aegar, maybe because they think theo will be easier to control than his brother...)
elyan is a formidable warrior and commands the loyalty of many, especially men of the city watch in king's landing, whom he personally oversaw for a time. he's charismatic and politically savvy but also vicious and cruel, often jumping headfirst into danger. theo, on the other hand, is studious and prefers to keep to himself. his father believes him to be the one of whom the prophecy spoke of and it could be argued that he has a calmer demeanor than his brother, but in truth, theodric can be just as fearsome and unpredictable.
Tumblr media
henry hightower grew up in king's landing, where his father thomas served as the hand of the king for both king elyris I targaryen, and king aegar I targaryen. he's not a renowned warrior and prefers books to swords. he loves riding though, and is an exceptional horseman. when war erupts, henry ends up on the opposing side to elyan, with whom he has been in love with for years. he has to choose between duty and love as he finds himself increasingly friendless in the city he once called home.
Tumblr media
malcolm stark is the new lord of winterfell after the sudden death of his father. though he is young, he's determined to look after his people as winter approaches. in the middle of preparations, king aegar dies and war starts brewing in the south. malcolm's father alexander once swore an oath of loyalty to king aegar and his then-heir, prince elyan but now the succession has been changed. malcolm must decide whether to march his men south to defend prince elyan's rightful claim or to stay in the north and face the oncoming winter.
Tumblr media
lady primrose baratheon is the only surviving child of lord vincent gray and lady victoria baratheon. she stands to inherit her mother's claim to storm's end but lady victoria's claim was contested on many fronts already, and she only held onto it because she was already married and with child at the time of her brother's death. the lords of the stormlands were hoping she would have a son and put such foolish things as women inheriting storm's end to rest. when, despite years of effort, primrose remained the only living child of her parents, tensions in the stormlands started to brew again. prim's position is precarious and now she has a war to navigate. house baratheon is sworn to defend king theodric but elyan is one of primrose's oldest friends. when her mother dies a few weeks into the war, primrose technically has the power to shift her house's allegiance, but can she convince her lords to follow her lead?
"we are as the gods made us. strong and weak, good and bad, cruel and kind, heroic and selfish. know that if you would rule over the kingdom of men."
elyan, theo, henry, and prim all spent a considerable amount of time together in king's landing
there would definitely be pressure from the councils of both sides to put the other to sword so the war doesn't rear its head again but do the brothers actually want to kill each other?
elyan and henry are gay and in love and take romantic flights on dragonback over the crownlands until the war tears them apart :( the whole affair was doomed from the start but now it's EXTRA doomed
eventually malcolm and prim join the war and meet and fall in love BUT there's a huge issue because primrose has to marry some suitable minor lord from the stormlands (who preferrably has older brothers so he doesn't have the pressure of carrying on the family name) and not the frigging lord of winterfell, warden of the north!!! her liege lords don't want some stark bossing them around. if the two manage to make it work and get married then who's gonna inherit storm's end? who's gonna inherit winterfell? we just won't know...
estelle is The Stark At Winterfell while mal is off to war
lots more dragons would be involved than what is mentioned here. theo has a dragon called scrambles called something metal like bloodfyre i'm sure
the other houses like the velaryons and the lannisters would also be involved heavily but i decided to not go as far as to start assigning other characters or i'd never be able to get this out lol
although the slytherins might be velaryons in this, so kerina is a velaryon, and the current lord of driftmark is either kerina's dad or brother
i have no idea who would eventually win although the odds are stacked against theo pretty hard at the minute, poor guy...
feel free to offer your thoughts!🐉⚔
this isn't like a simple elian = rhaenyra (obvs he's more like daemon anyway), theo = aegon II, henry = alicent etc thing. while some characters do fill the roles of actual characters from hotd, it isn't exactly a working comparison. that being said, i love the ottohightowerification of thomas of alderly.

Dialogue prompt
(Can be interpreted as polyamorous but doesn’t have to be. Can be interpreted as pre- and/ or post-relationship.)
Character A: Wait, hold up. Did we… did everyone of us fuck Character B at one point or another?
Character C, nonchalant, slightly bored: Yup.
Character D, shrugs: Precisely what happened.
Character A: Should I feel weird about this?
Character D: I mean… I fucked Character B before I even met either of you. I’m not going to feel bad about it either way.
Character C, snorts: In all fairness, we did have a threesome with Character B. Like, after we sorted our situation out.
Character A: You what now?!

This DVD cover is everything ; Kallen is all dolled up, looking like a princess in the center, C.C. is above as she should, looking like a priestress and being beautiful, Lelouch is on the first plan, in a royal outfit, as the prince he is, and Suzaku with his gesture and drapery is very much Knight like ~ What's not to like ?

Comparisons between certain characters, ships and dynamics of AUs for Mortal Kombat and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by me and my gf
Some interesting comparisons between my works based on Mortal Kombat, and the works based on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by my gf Haley.
To an extent, this also applies to the canon.
Tumblr media
Liu Kang is the main character of both the MK canon and my MKAU. Jotaro Kujo is arguably one of the most popular main characters within JoJo, and Haley's favorite character.
While Jotaro is more aloof than Liu Kang, they both are still gentlemen heroes deep inside, and my MKAU does depict Liu Kang as a rebel before he matures.
Haley also has Jotaro look up to Liu Kang as a father figure in our roleplay.
Tumblr media
Liu Kang's greatest friend and ally is Kung Lao while Jotaro's player 2 (or JoBro, if you will) is Noriaki Kakyoin. In the roleplay, Kakyoin does look up to Kung Lao as his father, and they even adopted a dog named Hector.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the MK canon, Liu Kang's love interest is Kitana. In my MKAU, Liu Kang's love interest is Sonya Blade.
While Jotaro did get married in the JoJo canon, the role of his love interest in Haley's JoJo works has been applied to an OC named Marita Larochelle Kujo, who is actually based on Gracia from Samurai Warriors.
Personality-wise and in terms of dynamics, Marita is closer to Kitana, and her relationship with Jotaro sort of mirrors Liu Kang and Kitana's relationship.
Marita is a half-mermaid orphan from an Ocean world, and she ends up falling for Jotaro, especially with him being a marine biologist. It's similar to how Kitana is the princess of Edenia, and ends up falling for Liu Kang after she defects from Shao Kahn, who murdered her father Jerrod and drove her mother Sindel to suicide.
Interestingly, Marita looks up to Sonya as her mother figure in our roleplay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Haley's works based on JoJo, Kakyoin's primary love interest is an OC named Annegret Conley, who is actually supposed to be an alternate older version of Anne. Kakyoin and Annegret's relationship is actually closer to Sonya's relationship with Johnny Cage.
Kakyoin isn't overly cocky or comedic like Johnny normally is, but he can indeed be incredibly suave, especially towards Annegret, who often has a stubborn and hard-as-nails personality, but ultimately warms up to him.
While Annegret's personality is indeed closer to Sonya's, she ultimately looks up to Kitana as her mother figure.
Tumblr media
While Marita is Jotaro's main love interest, and Annegret is Kakyoin's, Haley and I often do ship the four with each other as an OT4/quartet, meaning that we also ship Jotaro with Annegret, and Kakyoin with Marita.
Similarly, not only does my MKAU have Liu Kang x Sonya, but also Johnny Cage x Kitana, and we do indeed ship the four with each other in our roleplay.
As for Kung Lao, I actually ship him with Li Mei.
I created this post, mostly for fun, and to show both the similarities and differences between the MK and JoJo OT4s by me and Haley.
That's all for now.

Polyshipweek23 Day 4: Soulmates
A little bit of context: one of my favorite soulmate/soulmark tropes is “when you touch your soulmate for the first time, you both get a colorful mark in the shape of where you touched” I also love the idea of a soulmate being someone who has a profound impact (not necessarily romantic) on your life, so that’s what I’m rolling with here!
Mal
Mal gets her mark from Jay when they're both little. Like, the first day of what passes for school on the isle kind of little. It was hot, and they weren't wearing long sleeves like most of the adults do, and they bumped shoulders and marked each other. The soulmark is a smudge of dark red on Mal's left shoulder.
Mal was marked by her mother as a baby. Maleficent's mark is on her back, a double handprint in deep eggplant purple (Mal heard the name for the color long before she knew there was a food that went with it) and it's so deep it looks like a bruise. Not that many people see it. It's fine to be marked by a parent, but showing soulmarks still isn't something that people do on the Isle of the Lost.
Mal doesn't mark Evie right away. Their marks happen when Mal brushes her fingertips over Evie's wrist, and between Mal's bare hand and Evie's bare wrist, her fingers come away a saturated, brilliant royal blue.
Mal marks Carlos once they're in Auradon, as promised. Because it's a planned mark, they have some freedom with it, and she puts her mark on him as a full handprint on his right shoulder. (her left hand is stained red in exchange, but it's worth it, to have her mark so bold and bright and undeniable on him).
Mal marks Ben with her elbow, entirely by accident. On their first date together, she slips and falls in the water of the enchanted lake, and Ben unthinkingly reaches out to try and catch her (or maybe not unthinkingly at all - maybe he knew all along what he was doing) and Mal's elbow catches him in the bicep, and her mark blooms deep orchid purple on his skin, smeared from the broadest point of his arm down to near his elbow. Mal's own sharp, pointy elbow comes away stained with a deep, saturated gold. (It doesn't make the planned betrayal any easier).
Jay
Jay marks Mal when they're too little to know better. He shoulder-checked her on their grubby excuse for a playground, and then instead of a bruise they both had soulmarks blooming bright and unmistakable instead. Mal's mark on his right shoulder is bright orchid, and it's the second-deepest mark Jay has.
Jay's deepest mark is from Carlos, which is funny in retrospect, but hadn't been at the time. Jay's gloves have a little gap at the heel of his hand, where they cinch tight around his wrist, so he's got a smudgy half-circle the size and shape of the gap on his right hand, bright red with a little smear leading down towards his wrist. It's funny now, but it hadn't been funny at all when the little kid Jay was scruffing to try and intimidate him had squirmed too far and turned out to be a soulmate.
Jay's mark with Evie was intentional. A mark that would be easy to hide, at Evie's request, so they'd both thought about it and decided it would be funny to un-layer from their leather armor and bump the ridge of their hip bones together. The blue stain is one of Jay’s favorite things to trace over and over when he’s alone for the night.
Jay's mark from his dad is dark red, not nearly as bright in color as the one he has from Carlos, but not as dark as his own marks. It's high on his shoulder, in the shape of a hand catching him there, and it's fainter than most of the marks that parents leave on their children. A shadow of ruby-red, like a colored chalk stain that he can't quite wash off.
Jay also has a mark from the oldest Hook boy - from a barefoot kick to the ankle when they were kids. It's stormy blue, like the sky outside of their barrier gets sometimes. They didn't realize the connection until later, which was funny when they were fucking each other stupid in the back corners of the docks, and less funny afterwards, when their crews fell out and they stopped speaking to each other outside of threats growled in the market.
Evie
Evie shares an intentional mark on her hip with Jay, his deep red color dark like a burn against her skin. She hides it from her mother, and doesn't let herself regret the choice.
Mal's mark is absurdly bright on her wrist, a two-fingered smear of color that Evie hides under thick bracelets. Sometimes she wonders if Mal's mark on her is as bright as the one that she left in return.
Evie doesn't share a mark with her mother, because Grimhilde is careful, and always, always wears her gloves. (this is a lie, and her mother’s mark is buried under Evie's hair on what was once the soft part of her head. Her mother's lips, always rouged or painted, hide the blue that Evie left in return).
Evie marks Carlos partially by accident. She's not wearing gloves, and he's not wearing sleeves, and she trips over her own feet on a particularly hot day while trying not to pass out from the heat that's making them all suffer, and she smacks her hand into his arm. The mark blooms red and bright on the side of her hand, and the matching mark on his arm comes up so bold and royal blue that it nearly hurts to look at.
Evie marks Ben, which is strange for both of them. It's an unthinking, casual gesture when it happens. Evie's hands are bare at her sewing table, Ben sitting on the floor with Mal nearby, and she drops her seam ripper near his hand. They're so comfortable together that neither of them thinks before picking it up, and their fingers brush, and oh, they're stained bold blue and gold now.
Carlos
Carlos's first mark is from his cousin. Diego darts out a tiny hand to touch his baby cousin's bare leg, and leaves a bold orange handprint behind, near the delicate curve of his ankle.
His mother leaves a lot of marks on his body, but none of them are soulmark-bright. Her marks, the ones that she leaves on other people, a white, like a floury handprint, or an old scar on pale skin, and he can see them on the faces of her henchmen every day. For a while he would count the silvery-white burn scars on his skin and beg for them to fade, to prove that they wouldn't turn out to be soulmarks after all. (They aren't, and they do all fade in time).
Evie marks him by accident, on a hot  day when she sways a little too far and catches hold of his arm for balance. The blue smear from her hand is pretty. A nice change from red and black and white.
Jay marked him a long time ago. When they were too young to deal with what it meant. The mark is dark and vivid, but mostly hidden under the collar of Carlos's jacket. Jay hides his under gloves, and it feels safer that way, so it doesn't hurt to keep them hidden. (it hurts anyway).
Mal is one of Carlos's last marks. She puts a hand on his shoulder, after they already know they have two marks in common and are pretty sure they'll share one too. Lifting his shirt for Mal's orchid-purple mark is one of the first times his back sees the sun, and it feels right. Her mark sits lower than Jay's, not hidden, but something just for the two of them.
Carlos marks Ben. It's one of the first times he leaves a mark on someone, rather than the other way around. It's almost an accident. Ben reaches out his hand while they're in the forest behind the school together, like Carlos is a princess who needs help climbing over the fallen tree on the path. Their hands are bare, and they both know it. Carlos reached out to take his hand, and the mark on Ben's palm blooms red and bright. The gold he gets in exchange feels like a new beginning.
