Just to give you an idea, this movie was made in 2007, was then given a limited release in 2014, and then was finally released in 2017.

In between its completion and its release the director, John Erick Dowdle, directed four other movies:

Devil (underrated, it's not that bad)

As Above so Below (it's not bad, come on guys)

Quarantine (OK this one's pretty bad, but it's not his fault)

No Escape (haven't seen it)

It seems he specializes in found footage. But no seriously, it's wild that this movie took forever to be released, and trust me once you see it you'll realize why. I felt like I was committing a crime watching this one, hoo boy.
