Inigo x reader with the prompt; Person A gains bruises and injuries from a battle and Person B tends to them while leaving kisses on the wounds?
I've had this in my inbox forever and I'm so excited to finally write for this prompt. It turned out a little longer than I intended, I actually really loved writing this out. I hope you enjoy! <3
In His Defense
Warning: Canon-typical violence
It was the night after the stranger in black had defeated Inigo before knocking him unconscious. You had been sent ahead with the others, however instead of obeying Inigo you hung back, watching the fight unfold. You wanted desperately to intervene but you knew Inigo was enjoying himself and could see that neither man was intent on wounding the other. Not until Inigo lost the fight, and sunk to his knees before the man in black.
"Kill me quickly." You heard him say.
You withdrew your sword and sprang from your hiding spot among the boulders, running towards the two of them. The man in black said something you couldn't hear and hit Inigo, knocking him unconscious.
"No!" You raised your sword for a fatal blow.
The man in black spun around faster than lightning, blocking your blow with ease. "Well, well," he said with a smirk. "Look who decided to finally enter the game."
"You will not kill him." You gripped your sword with both hands, anger and fear running through you. "If you are truly a man of honor, you would not make your opponent weak and unable to defend himself before striking him down!"
"You misunderstand." The man blocked your blows easily. "As I told him, I would no sooner destroy a stained glass window. But I do not want him, nor you, following me."
"I don't intend to follow you." You stepped back, still braced to fight.
"No." The man said, contemplating the sight of you. "No, I don't believe you do. Still, one can't be too careful."

"My love. My love, come back to me."
You opened your eyes to find Inigo leaning over top of you. Night had fallen. You could hear the chirp of crickets and a fire crackling nearby. You breathed deeply, cool night air reviving your senses.
The events from before came flooding back. "Inigo," you started to sit up.
"Easy, easy. Do not rush." Inigo gently pushed you back down. "You have a cut on your head. I do not want it to reopen."
"Is he gone?"
"Miles away, I'm sure."
You closed your eyes in shame. "I should not have stayed. I thought he was going to kill you."
"Shh, he is an honorable man. But you did not know, it's not your fault." Inigo brushed your hair back before gently kissing just above the cut on your head.
You reached for him, grabbing at his shirt, wanting him closer.
Inigo hummed approvingly against your head. "Why do you think you must protect me, angel?"
"Because I have saved your life more times than can be counted."
Inigo pulled back to smile down at you. You smile back, reaching up to gently caress along the edge of the darkening bruise on his head. "You just are never looking."
Inigo scoffs and shakes his head, but his smile only grows wider. Pushing up onto your elbows, you press a gentle kiss to the bruise, thanking the gods above that this was the only wound he had sustained in the fight.
