i think it bears repeating (again) that nie mingjue was a clear and present danger to jin guangyao’s life, every day, from the date of their confrontation in the scorching sun palace to the moment of his qi deviation over four years later. four years, where every single minute that jin guangyao spent in nie mingjue’s company, he was taking his life into his own hands, and they both knew it. lan xichen knew it. completely uninvolved third parties who were witnesses to nie ningjue’s increasingly unhinged and violent behaviour knew it.

nie huaisang may have been compelled by filial piety to avenge his brother’s murder, but let’s not pretend that jin guangyao killed nie mingjue just because daddy said jump. because if he hadn’t killed nie mingjue first, it was only a matter of time before nie mingjue killed him.

Maya Reigen the daughter of Arataka Reigen and the wife of Saitama. In this AU OPM and MP100 share a universe and the events of MP100 take place when Saitama is in highschool.

Before the events of Mob Psycho 100 when Maya was just a baby she was left on the doorstep of the Spirits and Such Consultation Offices and while Reigen had absolutely no idea what to do with a baby girl but he also didn't know any adoption centres and so decided to raise her by himself to the best of his abilities. I image he named her Maya so that her name would be easy to write and he kept her hair short so it would be easier for him to maintain it. That all being said however he did grow to truly love her as even if he often felt unfulfilled and directionless at least he had someone to work towards making happy. As she got older she'd also help him with his work by servicing as their marketing department using social media to (unsuccessfully) help her dad's business. He's also very protective of her which leads us onto...

Maya meets Saitama during their first year of high school when she protects him from delinquents trying to get his lunch money. Since then they'd often hang out together much to Reigen's chagrin as in some ways he viewed Saitama as actually being too similar to a younger version of himself with how they're both kinda directionless and lazy. That being said he also can see that Saitama does care about Maya so even if he wouldn't admit to it he does silently give them their blessing as they become adults together.

Now as they are adults they get married a little after she finishes culinary school and just before he saves the grandchild of Agoni after unsuccessful job interviews. During the events of OPM they are a pretty soft and gentle married couple, when not at work they just like to laze about the house watching stupid TV Shows and anime and eat junkfood. Yet they also often work together as her skills with the blade when it comes to cooking have also transferred to her skills with the blade when it comes to fighting.

There's an element of the ultra/leftcom mentality that I do charitably respect, a sort of undivided focus on class analysis at the cost of all else. That being said, the seeming inability of any sort of international tendency to show up in a material way isn't lost on me. A lot of my irl interactions with trots specifically have left a sour taste.

AuSAlt despite its size seemingly leans into adventurism, it's members celebrating their presence at marches, despite the tone of the protests being that of anger and/or grief. The recent protest in Naarm seeking to disrupt arms shipments was met with a pretty fuckin severe police response, as was expected by organisers and protesters alike. AuSAlt decided it was a good place to boost membership, collecting full names and phone numbers, just like they do at every rally.

SAlliance is a slightly more radical Greens party, the CPA and CPA-ML don't materially show themselves besides simply attending, bodies in spaces style. I've experienced as much solidarity with either of those orgs as with the ICP or ICT, neither of which have a proper presence in this part of the world.

I have no grand conclusion, no goal in writing this. Simply ideas and thoughts I've been trying to put to the page for a while now, and I'm enough drinks in to give up on coherence and doubts. Read theory, show up, do the work.

I haven't had much time to write with my new study schedule and family things, and when I do have time I have to wade through a sludge of doubts and fears about my ability to write prose at all, and when I manage to push that aside I often hit locked doors with spoon-shaped keyholes and have no keys for them.

It's frustrating, but I eke out what words I can while working on improving my writing conditions any way I can.

Then I finally have the feeling I can pull off writing some poetry, something I feel even more scared of more often than prose -- but also something I know I won't be able to leave unfinished as easily as prose and will be more likely to create something complete -- and I get a spark of hope.

And I go to compose the poem and my brain hands me what can only be described as an all-emoji recipe for fried eggs and ice cream. Which is not, as far as I know, a poem. Or even the pieces to make a poem. It's simply. Emojis. Vibrant and colorful and wholly unhelpful.

Thank you, brain, but next time I'd like to actually make a poem or story. Please.

Ok but one thing that bothered me is Marcy’s relationship with the newts

Anne earns the frogs respect and becomes a hero.

Sasha proves her use to the toads, and while most of them leave, grime, Percy, and Braddock stay

Marcy does everything she can for the newts, and they forget about her the moment she gets stabbed.

Like what gives? Why are the newts so uncaring towards their hero? Some fans say that she spent so much time having adventures that she didn’t get to know them, but we know that isn’t true with how much she tries to befriend others(and even if she didn’t, certainly someone would have cared out of gratitude). So instead, it comes off as the newts being self serving jerks, and Marcy shouldn’t have even tried to help them.

Oh no no they didn’t forget about her!! Well they probably did for a bit but, after they decided to turn on the king, they then considered breaking her out JUST so the physically and emotionally scarred 13 year old could help them outsmart him. Not only did the thought of a rescue attempt only cross their minds for selfish reasons, but Yunan immediately tried to shoot the idea down. She wanted to abandon Marcy and leave her terribly injured in the hands of a “mad king” just because she overheard ONE mistake she made when she felt like her whole world was falling apart and wasn’t thinking.

I can see Marcy maybe not having a whole lot of personal conversations with Olivia or Yunan, but she was someone they knew — a CHILD at that — and had good experiences with. Yet they would’ve left her for dead if Olivia didn’t know Marcy once beat Andrias at a board game, meaning there was a chance she could outsmart him for them.

I do like Olivia and Yunan, honestly, and am deciding to think that the neglect was more from the writers rather than them as genuine characters, but it just makes me so sad cuz they could’ve cared a LITTLE BIT without affecting character arcs ;-;

As much as I love angst, Marcy deserves better than this shit that lowkey just makes the two newts just seem like bad people and doesn’t even serve the plot :<

Edit: WHOOPS I got so caught up in my rage that I didn’t even realize you meant the newts in general, not just two of the ones she personally knew XD. BUT UH I can sorta excuse everyone else (except like the Triple B ig) cuz she was up in a flying castle that only a handful of people had access to lol.

Ooh yippee!!! Okay well I have thought before that the reason why Maya goes to a culinary school is because when she was a kid she used to cook dinner while Reigen... "supervised". I imagine they also watch a lot of anime and read manga together and they get into debates about silly things like Shojo Beat vs Shonen Jump.

As for what they do when they're out and about tying into their love of anime I can imagine them going to Akihabara to look at cheap and bootleg anime merch, although that's more rare and when they can actually buy train tickets- Although she does like taking him to cafes and buying clothes and making him try on the goofier accessories they have. Also festivals! They must have gone to some festivals in the summer, I can imagine they watch the fireworks with headphones on.
