Humans.
Though weak creatures, they cause chaos wherever and whatever era. It only seems like the only consistent thing in this world. They crawl like the desperate pathetic ants they are, forever struggling to survive day by day. The other idiot ants feel superior to the others, taking advantage of their power that they’d go so far as to take the food that others worked hard to haul onto the hill only for them to have it for themself.  Corruption. No matter the age, Ryomen Sukuna - King of Curses- has witnessed the same thing over and over again. It’s getting a little tiring to look at.
This is the exact description that anyone in the village would put in the Kamo clan - the corrupt and tyrant rulers. They are wealthy and at the top of the power hierarchy, the very source of corruption, of abuse. The men in the family would beat, abuse, and take advantage of their blood relatives. Some are sold, adding more riches to their unnoble stockpile of treasure. To any lowlife they come across and feel like harassing, they would do so through pain and torture or even just public humiliation just for fun. There wasn’t any person that was brave enough to stand up against them. They were the only ones who were capable of protecting them from curses that would invade them from time to time. The people in that village are under their mercy. Where else can they go when there are curses out there beyond, not knowing how many are out threading freely?
Sukuna sighs in exasperation as he remains squatting on a tree branch, overlooking the nearby village under the bright sun. Sukuna hides in the forest, far away enough that humans wouldn’t loiter around much but close enough that he can watch what goes on in that small puny community. If he does encounter a human, his terrifying four-armed figure will be the last thing that they’d see before their demise. However, in recent days, there haven’t been a lot of humans threading deep into the forest because of the rumors that people who go there never return. Because of this, he hasn’t eaten for weeks and is currently starving for meat. Sukuna debates if it is time to raid the village to satiate his hunger and quench his thirst for blood.
As if on queue, there was a rustle from the bushes nearby and a familiar scent carried in the wind to which Sukuna wasted no time but to take it all in with one big whiff. It’s the scent that he’s been longing for so long.
Food.
He makes his move, swinging his four arms from one branch to another as quietly as possible, making his way toward the delicious smell. He won’t be bothered to check if this one’s good meat, the only thing he cares about is to quiet down the rumbling of his stomach. When he reaches a safe enough distance, he crouches down his big frame behind one of the bushes near the small river stream. Sukuna’s red eyes shine against the sun as soon as it lands on his meal, licking his lips.
It was a small girl with short hair, the bottom of her purple kimono neatly folded as she was squatting down at the side of the stream, running a hand in the water while staring in silence. She has her back turned to him as she hums a tune to herself. This was a very easy and effortless catch for Sukuna, a little girl with her guard down. He doubted that he would feel full after ingesting her whole being but it was better than nothing.  The King crouched down and waited, getting ready to pounce until he finally did with a deafening roar.
Sukuna lands where she is, thinking he has crushed her. He was ready to dig his fingers into her body when he realized that he didn’t hear any screaming and that there was no one underneath him. Confused, he looks around only to see the girl had dogged him and is now holding her hands up.  This completely baffled Sukuna as he stared at the girl’s shocked but not scared face.
“E-easy there, I don’t intend to harm you. I’m sorry if I wandered too far into your territory.” She says in a high-pitched shaky voice. “I-I know you must be h-hungry. I’m actually carrying hens in the b-basket I’m carrying, if that would suffice”
Watching the girl talk made his blood boil. How dare she outwit him by dodging his attack? He would’ve consumed her by now if it weren’t for her eagerness to live. The foolish human thinks she can talk her way out of getting eaten by the King of Curses. He runs towards her, claws extended in front of him when she jumps out of the way again but this time, he can grab her by the foot. She yelps in pain at what he thought because of his grip but he looks down and sees a massive bruise on her ankle. It looked like it had been there for a few days so it couldn’t be because of him. She screams and lands on the shallow side of the water, wetting her hair, face, and upper body. He drags her leg towards him, laughing at the way she digs her fingers into the soil trying to stop herself from getting dragged. With ease, he lifts her upside down with one hand, satisfied with the way her Kimono drops down exposing her slender legs and undergarments.
“Oi, oi, oi! That’s no way to treat a lady, Mister!” She makes an effort to shake her fist at him despite being upside down. “P-please, maybe you should try the hen first?!”
The gull of this human to keep talking as if her life was not about to end made him stop in his movements to look down on her. Her face is panicked but not scared. This takes the fun out of killing her but he’s really after the food instead of the thrill. Still, Sukuna has never encountered a girl who acted this way. It was always screaming, crying, and flailing their hands which made it all the more delicious when he finally sank his sharp teeth into their flesh, silencing the pathetic pleas. Still holding her upside down, his eyes curiously do a double take on this peculiar filth he managed to catch. The little girl, no, this young woman had bruises, burns, and cuts all over her limbs. Some wounds have already been scars but others are still healing. The curse thought this person was a little girl but no doubt she was a woman with her mature figure and breasts. It was just that she was incredibly thin as if the concept of food was never introduced to her. Sukuna knows that he told himself before he attacked that he wasn’t gonna bother with the quality of this meat, but this made him lose his appetite. But mostly, he was curious about what this filth went through, and why doesn’t she act as if life was taken from her, like an empty shell. Instead, she has a wild and bright spirit in her that burns his eyes. It was. . . interesting.
He drops her to the ground.
“See, see! Hens do sound good if you just give it a chance. Come, come!” The woman scrambles to her feet to reach for the basket near the stream. She whips it around and offers it to him, with a hopeful smile on her face or a grateful one for having shown mercy. “They’re fresh from my uncle’s farm!”
He stares at this ridiculous scene in front of him for a moment before crossing both pairs of his arms. “Get that fucking thing out of my face, you filthy being. What do you take me for?”
The curse’s deep menacing voice was frightening enough that the young woman recoiled, pulling the hen back to her chest.  She was too stunned to say anything.
“Well then, why didn’t you eat me if you didn’t want the hen?”
This made Sukuna pull a dumbfounded face for her to talk to him so bluntly. He curls his lips in amusement, “You’re as filthy as they come, human. You’ve ruined my appetite with your disgusting state.”
“Hm?! Do you mean my injuries? I didn’t know curses were so picky.” She puts her hand on her chin as if in deep thought.
“So you know what a curse is then, filth. Are you not afraid?”
“Should I be?” For the first time, there was a small smile on her lips as she stared up into the king’s eyes. “I’m well aware that people who enter the forest never come back and I know for sure that they’re eaten by curses. I didn’t think I’d encounter one so soon though, and it is the King himself, no less.”
It’s as if everything that comes out of this filth’s mouth was made to surprise Sukuna every time it opens. He still hadn’t come to terms with that this was all happening, so he couldn’t stop himself from laughing maniacally out loud out of the ridiculousness of it all, of his sharp teeth bearing in front of her. She flinches a little at the sight of him.
“You amuse me!” He finally says as soon as he stops laughing. “Bear to me your name, filth.”
She says her name in a small voice.
“Never heard of you! Nonetheless, I shall not forget you, filth. I’m  still hungry and I’m still going to eat you despite how you are.”
He laughs a little when he sees her shoulders drop and deflate at the realization that her life was not spared, the hen finally flies out of her grasp.
“Uh- I know I came here knowing my fate but it seems that I'm afraid to die after all. I know you’re hungry. Are you alright with at least an arm? Or a leg? I can give you that much.”
Again, he was taken aback by the words that left her lips once more. Before he can even say anything, she throws her left arm in his direction. “How about this arm?! There aren't many cuts here?”
For the first time, Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, was at a loss for words. He glares down at the odd creature in front of him, wondering what’s wrong with her. He takes a few steps back, widening the distance between them. After a few steps, he plops himself cross-legged on the ground. They carefully watch each other in silence, wary of each movement one of them makes. In the background, the hen she was once holding was leisurely bathing itself in the shallow end of the water.
“Human,” Sukuna finally speaks to her, who flinches again. “Tell me, why are you decorated like a warrior and sickly thin like that of a twig?”
The girl deflates in her seat again in the grass. She looked down at the stream and opted to go back to her position before Sukuna attacked her, one hand dipping in the water. Silence blankets them once more as she gathers her thoughts.
“Hmmm. . .if you’re not going to eat me, then what are you planning to eat? Do you eat pigs?”
“I asked you a question, filth. I have yet to hear your answer.”
“- Because if you eat pigs, I could go ahead and grab one from the village and offer it to you. I don’t think I just leave knowing that you’re hungry if you’re kind enough not to kill me.”
“Are you not going to answer me?”
“Can I at least offer you something to eat first before I do?”  She gives a sheepish smile. “I know what it’s like not having anything to eat, as you can tell. My arm is still on the offer if that will help you.”
“Bring me another human, then.”
She was quiet for a bit, removing her hand from the water and then bringing it up to her chin in thought, not minding the water droplets dripping on her kimono since it was already messy from the earlier event. “Do you think an older lady will be okay? She’s on the brink of her death. She’s got a plump frame.”
Sukuna laughs again in amusement. “Do you have no regard for your kind? Oh, Humans!”
She shrugs, then grins, “I heard you like cooked humans. I can cook her for you if you’d like.”
His ears perk at this. It has been a while since he tasted cooked human meat. His previous servant was the only one who could cook for him and they have long since parted nearly a decade ago. His stomach growls at the mere suggestion of grilled meat.
She lightly laughs, her eyes softening. “I take that as a yes. I can do that much for you for your kindness. You may find it odd for me to kill my kind, but honestly, I think it’s better to put her out of her misery. She was a great woman.”
“How do I know you’ll come back, filth? I know, if you do not come back when the full moon rises, I will burn down your village.”
Sukuna had a small inkling that she wouldn’t mind her village burning down, seeing how she is all covered in different types of injuries just from living there, but the mere mention of her village made the color drain from her face.
“Understood, then.” As the girl stands up with the basket full of hens, she makes an effort to dust off her kimono but it doesn't do anything. “Full moon it is!”
“Hurry up, fifth. I do not like waiting.” Sukuna says before standing up and walking back into the forest where he came from.

Scare • Matt Sturniolo
Tumblr media
pairing: matt sturniolo/fem!reader
summary: matt and you handle a pregnancy scare.
tags: angst and then fluff, with some humor sprinkled in. happy ending.
tw: light discussion of periods and pregnancy
It feels like my heart stops as I look at the calendar on my phone.
9 days late. And I’m never late.
I noticed this morning that my box of tampons still sat in the cabinet, unopened, in Matt and I’s shared bathroom. I hadn’t thought anything of it, until I opened my calendar to see when my next dentist appointment is.
I swallow dryly as I lock my phone and slip it back into my pocket, dropping down to sit on Matt and I’s bed. All I can think about is that damn calendar. 9 days late. 9 whole days. One or two days is normal I guess, but nine entire days?
I can feel my thoughts spiraling already. Matt and I are safe. I’m on a good birth control and we use condoms often. But even those aren’t foolproof. I do remember forgetting my pill twice this month.
Oh god. What if I’m pregnant? I’m not ready for a kid right now.
Oh god, and Matt. Matt isn’t ready either. With his career and plans with his brothers there’s no way this could even work right now. It would ruin everything. I feel tears of worry and anxiety fill my eyes and begin to drop down my cheeks.
My thoughts just continue to spiral and spiral, until I feel the bed dip next to me. I turn to see Nick, who had stayed behind with me while Matt and Chris went out to pick up some groceries.
“Babe, what’s wrong?” He asks concerned, his arm wrapping around my shoulder, pulling me into a side hug as we sat together.
I open my mouth to speak as my eyes meet his, but all that comes out is a sob. My hand moves to cover my mouth as more sobs follow. Nicks face creases in worry as his other arm wraps around me, pulling me into a hug as he rubs my back soothingly.
“Deep breaths, babe. Whatever it is, it’ll be okay,” he tells me, making me jerk back as I shake my head.
“No it won’t! He’s going to hate me!” I cry.
“If you’re talking about Matt, that kid could never hate you,” Nick tells me, voice calm and reassuring.
“I don’t know, Nick,” I laugh without humor, “this might.”
“Did you cheat?” Nick asks face calm, but apprehensive.
“No! God no,” I immediately answer.
Nick gives a small smile at the quick response.
“Okay, highly doubted it when I asked anyway,” he laughs, “but I don’t know what else could have you so upset thinking he’s going to hate you. You can talk to me, I want to help. What’s wrong?” He asks again.
I sigh. Nicks my best friend. He’s how I met Matt in the first place. I really wanted to just talk to Matt about this first, but with LA traffic and all Matt probably won’t be back for another hour. I don’t think I can survive another hour keeping this all bottled up.
“Nick, it’s bad,” I begin, voice shaken.
“I don’t care how bad, I’m here,” he immediately responds.
I take a deep breath.
“I’m late.” I state.
If this wasn’t so serious, Nicks reaction would have been funny. He stares at me blankly for a moment, before his head cocks to the side a bit in confusion.
“Like, to an appointment?” He asks, lost.
“No, Nick,” I sigh, shaking my head, “my period is late” the last part comes out like a whisper.
Once Nick connects the dots his jaw drops open a bit in surprise, confirming my feelings.
“See! It’s so bad, Nick, this is so bad!” I yell, jumping up from the bed and beginning to nervously pace in front of where Nick sits, still shocked.
“N-no, it’s not bad!” He stutters as he watches me with wide eyes.
I stop pacing and just look at him.
“Really? Not bad? Your jaw dropped open like that because you were trying to catch a fly, then?” I ask sarcastically.
“Listen, I just got confronted with the fact that my best friend and brother fuck, I needed a second,” he defends, hands up.
“Nick, we’ve been dating a year. We dont go to bed and play clash of clans together,” I tell him, making him roll is eyes.
“I know! I know but I also don’t think about it and now we kinda have to think about it and I don’t like it!” Nick exclaims.
“Don’t think about it!” I yell back.
We pause for a minute, staring at each other before we both crack smiles at how ridiculous this has become. We laugh and I return to sitting next to him. Nick wraps his arm around my shoulder again and rests his head against mine.
“So, how late are we talking?” He asks, getting back to the important point.
“9 days,” I whisper.
“Okay. Not horrible. Could be later,” he says, nodding. I nod too. A moment of silence passes as I nervously pick at my nails and Nick stares at the wall, thinking.
“Well, I think we know what we gotta do.” He says, softly.
I turn to him, knowing too.
“Let me call Matt, he should still be at the store with Chris. They can pick up a test,” Nick says. I take another shaky breath before nodding in agreement. I get my phone out and go to Matt’s contact, dialing his number before handing my phone to Nick.
“Hey baby,” Matt’s voice comes through the speaker softly.
“Hey, it’s Nick,” Nick says, earning a confused noise from Matt.
“Nick? Why do you have her phone? Is she okay?” He asks quickly, his concern making me smile softly despite the stressful situation.
“Um,” Nick pauses, which only worries Matt further.
“‘Um’, isn’t a good answer when a guy asks about his girlfriend, Nick,” Matt responds quickly.
“Sorry, she’s okay, but we need you to pick up something else for her while you’re at the store,” Nick says.
“Okay, what?” Matt asks.
Nick looks at me, encouraging me to speak. I take a breath before taking the phone out of Nicks hands, taking it off speaker and holding it to my ear.
“I need a pregnancy test,” I tell him softly.
I cringe as there’s a moment of silence on the other end of the line.
“Okay, I can grab that. Do you need anything else, sweetheart?” He asks softly. I smile again despite the tears I can feel coming again.
“No, that’s it,” I whisper.
“Okay, we’ll be back soon, I love you,” he tells me.
“Love you too” I say back before hanging up.
Nick and I move downstairs, where he puts on a movie for us to distract us while we wait. I let myself be pulled into its predictable plot line as we wait for Matt and Chris to come home.
We both are startled out of our focus on the movie when we hear the front door unlock, followed by it opening to reveal Matt coming in with a mostly empty plastic bag in his hand, while Chris came in carrying the other groceries. Nick moves to help Chris and grabs some of the heavier bags from him, both of them walking to the kitchen while Matt walks over to me.
I stand as he meets me by the couch. He looks surprisingly calm, while meanwhile I feel like my insides are shaking with the anxiety I’m feeling right now. He gives me a small smile before wrapping me in his arms. I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding as I relax into his arms, resting my head against his chest. He gives me a gentle squeeze as I feel him press a kiss to my head.
“Let’s head to my room, baby,” he whispers, pulling back from the hug and grabbing my hand to lead me that way. Once in his room, he hands me the bag with the pregnancy test in it before sitting on his bed. Before walking to our bathroom, I pause.
“Matt, I need to know what this will mean,” I tell him.
He gives a small smile and holds his hand out to me. I walk over and grab it. He gives my hand a gentle squeeze, before bringing it up to lips to give it a kiss.
“We’ll do it together. Whatever it is. Sure, I thought kids would be later. But, if now is the time, now is the time. I think I’d be more freaked if this was with some random girl. But with you? I know whatever happens, we will be just fine,” he tells me, before giving the back of my hand another kiss.
“You promise?” I ask.
“I swear,” he tells me.
I smile and nod, before heading to the bathroom. The test is quick and easy, and I’m soon done. I leave the test on the bathroom counter, set my timer for fifteen minutes, and come back out to sit next to Matt on our bed. I rest my head on his shoulder as Matt wraps his arm around me. We just quietly sit, both of us lost in our thoughts as we wait, only to be shaken out of our trances by my phone loudly going off.
I sigh as I stand and walk back to the bathroom to grab the test. I pick it up, careful to not flip it over to show the result, and walk back out to Matt. I stop in front of him. He gives me another reassuring smile as his hands come up to rest on my hips.
“Ready?” I ask, voice cracking.
“Yeah, baby,” he says.
I take a deep breath, knowing this small test in my hand could change everything for the both of us. But I look at Matt, looking up at me with so much warmth and comfort in his eyes, and it’s not so scary anymore.
I flip the test over, both of our eyes moving to see the result.
Negative.
“It’s negative!” I say, laughing. He smiles too, standing and pulling me into a tight hug. We both rock back and forth as we hug, feeling relief. We pull back from the hug and Matt kisses me softly. We both smile into the kiss.
After we part, we walk hand in hand out to the living room where Chris and Nick both sit. They both give us smiles when we walk in.
“So, are we going to be uncles?!” Chris yells, practically bouncing on the couch in excitement.
Matt rolls his eyes, shaking his head while I laugh.
“No, it’s negative. My periods just late, that’s all. It happens sometimes,” I tell them, almost feeling bad when Chris pouts a bit.
We spend the rest of the night laughing and watching movies together, Matt holding me snug in his arms. That night when we go to bed, Matt says something that surprises me.
“Is it bad that I was just a little disappointed?” He asks me softly.
“What do you mean?” I ask.
“Well, when you first called and asked for the test I was freaking out on the inside. But then I talked to Chris a bit and the whole drive home I thought about it. And then I thought about a little us, a mix of you and me. And as life changing as a kid right now would be, I got excited,” he says, voice soft and quiet.
I smile, leaning in to press my lips softly against Matt’s.
“We’ll have a little us someday, just not quite yet.” I tell him.
“You promise?” He asks.
“I swear.”

Only Want You: Tonowari
Tumblr media
You had finished teaching your classes for the day and were in your mauri preparing to rest a little bit before dinner tonight. You were getting ready to shut the flap to your mauri when your best friend and crush Tonowari came bursting through it making you shocked to see him.
"What happened to hello? Can I come in?" You asked him as he helped you shut the flap to your mauri.
"I'm sorry, I just needed a break from them. I can go anywhere on this island without someone throwing themselves at me in hopes that I'll choose them as my mate." He said.
"You do know that your mother knows you hide here? She could just tell them, that you are hiding here and then I will have all those people here bombarding my mauri." You said rolling your eyes.
"I highly doubt she will, she doesn't even like half of them anyways. I'm sorry for just showing up like this, you were the only one I knew that would understand." He said squeezing your hands.
"It's fine. I was just about to take a nap before dinner since the kids wore me out today. But you are welcome to stay here as long as your need." You said to him.
"A nap does sound pretty nice right now, Do you mind if I join you?" He asked you.
You patted the spot next to you and soon enough you could feel his warm body against you before he wrapped his arm around you making you silently smile. You knew that Tonowari would never see you the way that you saw him which was okay, so you just took these moments when you could.
"Where is that boy?" Tonowari's mom asked searching all around for him until her eyes landed on your mauri.
She walked over and gently peeked her head in and smiled when she saw you two sound asleep in each other's arms. She had always liked you and thought you were perfect for her son and that's why she was going to push him to look at you differently because you two may not see it but she could tell that you both cared for each other on a deeper level than friends.
It was a few hours later, and you were off talking and laughing with your friends while Tonowari watched you with a small smile. Your laugh was one of Tonowari's favorite things about you, he had developed a crush on you as you two got older which is why he was having such a good time choosing a mate because the only one he wanted as a mate was you.
"My son, may I offer some wisdom on the whole mate situation?" His mom asked snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Ma...." He said not wanting to have this conversation.
"Just listen for a minute......Have you thought about choosing y/n?" She asked shocking him.
"Ma she doesn't like me like that." He said.
"Oh, how wrong you are my son. I see the way you both look at each other and plus y/n would be a great tsahik, everyone in the clan loves her." She said as Tonowari processed her words.
"Just think about it." She said squeezing his shoulders before leaving.
That night Tonowari, laid there thinking about what his mom had said about you and that's when he had decided that he would present you with the courting gift that he had made for all those years and tell you the truth about how he really felt and prayed that his mom was right about you liking him.
The next day you were out for a walk along the beach when one of the villagers told you that Tonowari requested to see you in his Mauri, making you a little confused as you followed them over to his tent wondering what he needed.
"What's going on Tonowari?" You asked as he shut the flap to his mauri.
"I have finally chosen a mate." He said making your heart drop.
"You have? That's great, who is the lucky girl?" You asked him as you tried not to cry.
"It's you." He said making you confused.
"What?" You asked.
"Y/n you are the only one I have ever wanted or seen a future with, I'm sorry it took me so long to accept my feelings. I was just scared that you didn't feel the same way and it wasn't until my mother said something last night at dinner that I realized them. You have always been by my side supporting me and my dreams even before I was chosen as the next Olo'eyktan, you've always been there for me and have always seen me. Y/n I would feel so honored and lucky to have you as my mate, if you choose to accept me that is." He said as the tears fell down your face.
"Yes I accept you, You don't know how long I have waited and hoped that you would say that to me." You said wrapping your arms around him.
"I made this for you a few years ago when the idea of a mate was first brought up to us, I only ever saw you as my mate." He said handing you a necklace.
"I love it, will you put it on me?" You asked him.
After putting your necklace on, you turned around and pressed a gentle kiss on his lips.

“Where’s Y/N?” Satoru glared at Suguru as he sat up from the hospital bed. “Satoru…just focus on getting better and we can talk about it when you get better.” Satoru looked around to find that Riko was in the corner of the room with her eyes closed. He sighed a bit in relief, he was glad that he was able to complete his personal mission of saving Riko from becoming Tengen’s sacrifice. He knew that there was going to be a fight with the elders of the clans and maybe even a fight with Tengen. But if she was born to be a sacrifice doesn’t that mean they can just choose someone else? “So you’re finally awake?” Satoru nodded as he winced a little in pain. “And you’re still alive?” She chuckled a little bit, “Thanks to you and Geto…”
“And Y/N. Where is she anyways?” Suguru sighed as he grabbed Riko. He has to tell him. He wanted to wait until he was a little better but he was going to find out eventually. Might as well find out now so he can't do anything since he doesn't have the energy left to do anything, “Riko why don’t you go wait outside? I need to talk to Satoru alone.” She nodded as she left the room leaving an awkward silence between Satoru and Suguru. All that could be heard was Suguru shutting the door behind Riko. The silence made Satoru nervous, he felt his heart beating faster. Trying to remember in what condition she was in before he came into the room to help fight Toji. He couldn't remember. His head had sent him into the worst place possible. She has to be okay. “You’re scaring me.” Suguru sat down on the chair by his bed and took a deep breath, “She’s gone…” Satoru’s whole world stopped as he felt a mix of rage and grief take over his body, “No…She was–”
“No, she left. She’s not dead. She left.” Suguru had forgotten for a second that Satoru hadn't seen her yet since the fight with Toji of course he would think she was dead. Satoru laughed away the anxiety that filled his body, “She’s okay then… when is she coming back?” He watched Suguru’s stoic face, “She’s…I don’t think she is.” Satoru laughed thinking that it was a joke and Y/N would rush through the door crying and hugging him because she thought he had died but he waited and no one bursted through the doors. “What are you…”
“After Shoko healed her she was summoned by Principal Yaga and then she started packing for a mission. But she packed all her stuff that meant something to her…things she wouldn’t normally bring with her because she was afraid to lose it.” Satoru was shocked; he sat there in silence trying to put things together. Trying to figure out why you would leave so suddenly with no explanation. Why you wouldn’t even wait till he woke up, if not to say goodbye but to at least tell him why you were suddenly leaving. “Get out.” Suguru nodded as he quietly got up from the chair. He knew what Satoru needed right now wasn't a friend but to be left alone.
Weeks have passed since you left the school. There was no news of you anywhere. It was as though you had vanished into thin air. Satoru did his own investigation trying to find some reason behind your decision. But the only thing he had heard happened before you left was that his clan and Yaga had talked to you after the Riko assignment. “Satoru, are you listening?” He shook his head, “Sorry. I was trying to ignore the bullshit coming out of your mouth.” He watched as a representative of the Zen’in clan scoffed at his remark. “You know your hubris will be your downfall, Riko is a sacrifice to strengthen Tengen-sama that's what she was born for so she has to be sacrificed.” Satoru, distinctly pissed off at the remark of the elder, got up and laughed maniacally in his face. He tried everything within him to not kill him. He was weak. A simple punch was all it took for Satoru but he didn't because all he can hear in the back of his head was your voice asking him if it would be worth it. After calming down a little he glared at the elder, “She’s a child, she has the right to choose whether she wants to live or not.”
“Really funny coming from a kid himself, did you fall in love with her or something?” Satoru scoffed pausing before he replied to the question. The only way he can think of right now to save Riko and to keep her from being sacrificed was keeping her by his side. “That’s right… and if you touch her you’d have to go through me and through the Gojo clan. Is that a battle you’re willing to fight?” Flabbergasted, the elder couldn’t say anything back. Satoru turned his head to the head of the Gojo clan. He was quiet and he sat there with his eyes closed listening to the conversation unfold. He suddenly opened his eyes looking straight into Satoru’s eyes. He meant it as a way to intimidate his clearly superior grandson but he didn't flinch. Dissatisfied he turned to the Zen'in elder who flinched at his gaze, “If my grandson is so sure of the way he feels about the young girl and she agrees to marry him then that makes her family. Which means you can’t touch her unless you have a death wish.”
“Tsk.” The Zen'in elder scoffed as he got up and left the room. Satoru won this fight but now he has to somehow explain to Riko that until he finds a way to stop them from coming after her as a sacrifice they are bound together. He watched as the head of the clan smirked. He knew Satoru was lying. But he didn’t care if it meant he could have him forget about that low-born sorcerer he had fallen for.
“Riko…what are you doing here?” Satoru asked as he glimpsed back at him to watch you walking away. Fuck. “The clan told me that the school was attacked and I had to make sure that you guys were okay…how’s Suguru?” Satoru sighed, “He’s fine. But now I am in a pickle because of what just happened.” Riko looked down at her shoes,”Sorry…I didn’t know who could be watching and it would just look weird if I didn’t run up to you like that…don’t you think you can explain everything to Y/N?” Satoru sighed as she ran towards Suguru. “I hope so…”
It's been a week since the incident but for some reason you were all still in Tokyo. You have been trying to avoid Satoru especially now that you knew that he was in an approved relationship with Riko. Your heart would hurt every time you thought about what made Riko good enough for Satoru but somehow to his clan you were an eyesore. Avoiding them was a little harder than you had originally thought because apparently Riko was a teacher at the high school too. And for some weird reason she had been looking for you everywhere. But you weren’t ready to meet them. Just thinking about Satoru holding her in his arms made your stomach turn. Afraid that when you would somehow run into him or into Riko you would burst into tears you decided to lock yourself in a hotel room you had gotten for yourself for three days. You spent most of those days crying or watching tv while crying or eating while crying. Whatever it was you were doing you were doing it while crying. You took a look in the mirror in the bathroom. Your eyes were red and poofy. Sighing, you washed your face with cold water wiping it dry with a clean towel from the rack in the bathroom before checking your phone; thirty-five missed calls from Hime and hundreds of texts all from just today. She was worried, after all you did what you did best when handed a difficult situation. You ran. You flopped yourself onto your bed groaning into the pillow. “Ahhhh…Why are you so stupid? Of course he was gonna move on, it's been a decade.” You sat up sighing as you dialed Hime’s number before placing the phone on your ear.
“Oh my god! You’re alive! Where are you?” You sighed, “Hime I’m fine…I’m at a hotel. I needed to uh…unwind?” You heard her laugh from the other end of the phone, “Was that a question or?” You sighed again, “I’m not sure but meet me at X Cafe in like half an hour.” Before hearing a reply you hung up, throwing yourself off the bed and back into the bathroom. You put some makeup on to hide the redness around your eyes, you didn’t want her asking any questions because you were supposed to no longer be in love with Gojo Satoru. So why should seeing him with another girl hurt you as much as it did now. You knew he wasn’t gonna be in love with you forever. Feelings fade, especially love, you knew that.
You walked to the cafe. You wanted to enjoy the Tokyo scenery before you went back to Kyoto. You didn’t want to admit it but you missed the way the streets are always bustling with people. It reminded you of the days when Satoru was afraid of losing you in the crowd and he would hold your hand and put it in his pocket. You remembered the first time he had done this the both of you weren’t dating yet and you were so sure it was the first time you felt your heart skip a beat. You laughed because you recollected the conversation with Shoko that ensued after that, you were so certain that you had caught a disease of some sort. “Arrived at your destination, X Cafe.” You paused as you turned your head to the left. You tried looking in from the outside to try and see if Hime had arrived but the windows were tinted a dark color which made it a little difficult so you just pulled the door open.
“Y/N!” You turned your head to the left of the restaurant and smiled waving as you walked towards one of the tables by the window of the cafe. You faltered as you suddenly became aware that she wasn’t alone. Fuck. Sitting at the same table as her was the trio and Riko. You glared at Hime who averted your gaze, “Hime…I see you brought other friends.” Hime laughed nervously, ‘Ha...Ha…Did I not mention this in any of my ten thousand messages.” You sighed because she probably had but you didn't bother reading the text messages. Satoru clearly saw the anger written on your face. He knew there was no way you wanted to see him. I mean he confessed to you while being in a ‘relationship’ he knew that his actions may have seemed unfair to you. “We really just needed to explain the situation to you since you kept avoiding us and we couldn't get a hold of you...” You nodded as you took a seat next to Suguru.
“Okay I’m here now…let’s talk. I have a lot I also need to tell you. And I honestly thought that I would have a little more time to gather my thoughts but since I’m ambushed I’ll have to wing it.” Satoru nodded, “Okay fair enough…to move past whatever happened between us ten years ago we need to talk about it.” You agreed as you looked down at the drink in front of you and took a sip. Satoru watched you drink the tea and he smiled, “I’m glad I still know your preferences.” You felt your cheeks burn red. Damn it.

Yandere Loak x Human Reader
Tumblr media
This is a piece of the story of slow burn
You ignored his presence again. Loak sighed. You were so stubborn. Spoiled brat. Not even his younger sisters acted like this.
You were a young lady and should show courtesy if not manners. Some humanity at least.
Loak sacrificed a lot for you. He risked his life kidnapping you from Quaritch. He stopped playing with his friends and hanging with his family so he can use his spare time apart from training to take care of you.
He brought you food, medicine when you were on your period, pads, clothes, blankets etc.
He was getting exhausted. You would scream at him. Call him ugly names. Throw objects.
Loak would clench his fist and jaw in annoyance and say nothing as you throw a tantrum.
He sighed and rubbed his temples. This was not what he expected from you. When spying you from afar before kidnapping, you were polite and sweet with class.
Why rude to him?
He kidnapped you yes but respected you. He didn't rape or raised his hand on you. He was a gentleman.
Ungrateful Whore. He didn't say it out loud. He didn't want to hurt your feelings. But he couldn't help thinking it.
Loak was handsome. He knew. Six packs. He was working out to have an eight pack, biceps, with muscles on his legs too. The whole package. Not to mention he is a young adult with hairless smooth skin. The human men were ugly. Fat and hairy with ugly red spots full of bacteria.
That confused him.
Here he was now, back in square one.
"ugly Alien!"
Loak's eye twitched. "Please don't insult me. I always call you sweet names."
"That's what you are, Freak!"
That's it.
Loak stood up to his full length and looked over your trembling form.
He grabbed your shoulders firmly and it caused you to shut up in fear. "Now my dear." He hissed through clenched teeth. "You are making me lose my patience. Don't provoke me to hurt you."
You furrowed your eyebrows. "You'll never hit me. You always bluff an-"
You felt a hard force on your cheekbone which caused you to fall flat on your ass.
You were shocked and felt pain.
Loak was silent and held a stoic expression. He was shocked he touched not only a woman but the woman he loves.
What has he done?
He wanted to lure you to his arms with his charms and masculine seductive traits. Now, he pushed you further away. He lowered his chances perhaps to non existent in earning your love.
Without a word, he left the hide out.
Back at home in the tree forest, Loak stared at his hand. The one he slapped you. Why do you always bring the worst in him? But you were begging for it. He will not act a gentleman if you will not act a lady.
His father Jake and Neteyam would fight enemy Navi Women from other clan if they attacked. But, you were not a solider but a scientist. Loak cradled his head in his hands. What will he do with you? He would ask his best friend and brother Neteyam for advice. But, that is not an option.
A small tear of frustration slid down his cheek. Love is so difficult. Why fall in love with a damn human enemy? If he loved another Navi it would be easier to mate. Why is he being punished like this?
He hated loving you
Taking a huge breath he came to a decision...
He will try again. He will never let you go or make a fool out of him.
You were a woman and he was a man. He will tame you and put you in your place. You were not happy at the base so it was a sign that you will be happy with him. You just don't know it
The next day, he visited your hideout and saw you curled in a fetal position on the hammock with your back to him.
Gulping with nervousness he approached you. "Beautiful, are you awake?"
You were too scared to ignore so you mumbled a yes
Loak touched your shoulder and made you turn over to him
He saw the bruise
Guilt flooded him. His poor baby.
He picked you up like a baby and sat down on the hammock holding you on his lap.
He rocked you back and forth and the two of you were quiet.
"I'm sorry for hurting you, lovely. But, I warned you. Don't disrespect me. That's all I ask."
Your eyes were diverted. Loak coaxed you to look at him. You did out of fear.
"I love you. I want to forgive and forget. I expect you to do the same."
You nodded in defeat.
"Good " Loak grabbed your chin and sealed the deal with a hard kiss.
He pulled apart for air
He studied your beautiful face and stroked your hair bangs. What a doll.
The rest of the day you let him feed you and comb your hair. You were surprised he asked you that bathe you. You thought he would do it anyway without your consent. You refused. He looked disappointed but said nothing.
He dressed you up in fresh clothes then left after you slept.

When she had the time to go out into the forest to find Oatstar, the sun had already begun to lower in the sky. With leaf-bare upon them, it would be darker now, gloomier, and dangerous to be free-roaming without a partner. Yet, did Oatstar consider any of this before running away from the clan who he owed everything to?
Displeased, Dappleddusk made her way through the thinned trees, trying not to scare every prey animal within her vicinity with her heavy pawsteps. Oatstar probably took care of that when he went racing through.
And speak of the devil, and he shall appear.
Huddled down in the thick, gnarled roots of an old evergreen tree, Dappleddusk stopped a fox-length away from her leader. It was good he had his back turned to her, facing the tree. It wouldn't do any good for him to see the look of disdain upon her face.
"Oatstar."
The tom flinched, and Dappleddusk managed to work her expression down into a look of neutrality when he met her gaze.
"Dappleddusk, how did you--?"
"You left a trail even a kit could find. Your scent is everywhere."
Oatstar's ears flattened, humiliated, but not arguing with his temporary deputy.
"You need to come back--"
"No!"
Startled, Dappleddusk reeled back, a paw lifted to her chest in shock as Oatstar's explosive denial sent the birds in the trees flying. His embarrassment returned, and he turned back around, head bowing.
"No... not yet. I'm still thinking."
Thinking of what? Abandoning their clan? Of what a coward he was? Taking in a long, deep breath, Dappleddusk padded up alongside him, visibly confusing Oatstar as she laid down.
"I've been doing some thinking myself."
"H... have you?"
He was obviously afraid of what she had to say. He should be. The no-nonsense she-cat was sick and tired of his victim complex, but she did not speak of it now. She leveled him with unreadable golden eyes, and continued.
"Eagleburn should be brought back as deputy. Banishing him won't bring Bayspots back, and we'll lose another cat that is critical to the structure of DawnClan."
"But, Sandfeather and the others--"
"Sandfeather will learn to swallow her grief like we all do in the name of the clan," Dappleddusk briskly cut in, her eyes narrowing. "The circumstances in which Bayspots died are unfortunate, but we all die one day. Sandfeather will cope with this. As well the other cats."
Letting her words settle in, Dappleddusk thought back to Eagleburn and his implications that he had been puppeteering the clan from behind the scenes the whole time. It sounded worse than it did, but if anything, the deputy had been keeping them alive and out of harm's way of an ineffective and incompetent leader. No one had known the extent of how useless Oatstar really was thanks to Eagleburn.
"I won't take any other answer."
Rising to her paws, Dappleddusk looked down upon Oatstar, who meekly met her gaze.
"You know this is the best decision."
Silent, for a beat, Dappleddusk wondered if Oatstar would show a hint of a spine and disagree with her.
She was disappointed, but unsurprised when he nodded.
"You're right," he quietly agreed, getting up and shaking the dead leaves off of his pelt. "I'll tell them."
Dappleddusk nodded, satisfied that he at least could do the minimum that was required of him.
Letting her leader take the lead back to camp, Dappleddusk could only wonder what Eagleburn would do next.

How about "I wish I'd known when you were born that you were going to betray me like this" with Gorou? Perhaps reader is part of a clan and they've been on loads of arranged dates with other suitors from clans that never worked out, and they get close to Gorou?
Tasty! Gender neutral reader, they're raised by strict parents that teach them how to court someone - posture, how they eat food, you name it they do it.
--
When you were a kid, you found yourself despising your existence. It became apparent to you that you were expected to marry into another clan that would boost the family's name. 'Dear, you need to sit up straight at all times, even if it's somebody you have grown comfortable with. We need to exude confidence!' Your mother chastised you when you slouched after sitting up uncomfortably. 'No, no, no! You need to be delicate with your food, slow down.' Your father told you when you started to eat a meal you were looking forward to.
And don't start on the dates you parents always arranged for you. Most of the bachelors you were paired up with were either old and creepy, or they were absolutely stuck up. You were certain there were most likely some decent people available, perhaps if you were able to get closer to Ayato or Ayaka in a way both of you could benefit, that may be nice. You were friendly with Ayaka, and you knew neither her nor her brother had to deal with these arranged dates from you ranting about a particularly gross guy.
But nope, you knew Ayato was smart enough to see your reasoning for pursuing a relationship with him. You didn't see him as an escape route, but you knew using him like that would not be fair.
When the vision hunt decree started, you were enraged to discover your family were completely behind the idea. Your friends had visions, how would they react if they lost their vision and forgot their reason for pushing on with their lives?
Ayaka tries to hush you when you start to tell Ayato how silly an idea it appeared to you. Many people used their visions for work, were the higher ups simply scared of the idea of a vision making someone superior to them in one way? Were they blindly following someone who claimed to be talking for a god?
Realising that neither of them had the ability to do a thing about this, you stormed out, thinking of what you could do. As you begin to walk home, a piece of paper catches your eye. Reading the contents quickly, you see this is some sort of recruitment following the introduction of this vision hunt decree. Without thinking about the possibility of this being a trap, you sprint to get to the location mentioned.
--
When the soldiers saw you, a noble, running to them, they thought you were in danger. You hold up the paper, insisting you wanted to help out where you could, and they look at each other in confusion.
"General Gorou, can you talk to _?" The soldier call out, the doggy general jogging over, sensing some urgency.
"I must apologise, but due to low numbers, I cannot afford to talk to-"
"I want to join." You say, determination running through your veins. "I don't like this new law, and I wish to do something about it." You nod, Gorou looking at you blankly for a second.
"What skills do you have?" Gorou asks.
"I don't have many useful skills for survival, however I would be happy to take on any training to assist where I can." You begin. "Additionally, I have connections to several clans. I would be happy to be a pawn if needed." You add on, Gorou's face turning to shock. "But, I have been taught how to cook a meal if that would be a start?"
"Let's start with that!" Gorou nods, leading you to an experienced cook that had offered their help.
--
During the whole war, Kokomi had asked Gorou to look after you. At the start, it was simply guarding you, but over time it started to become more than just that. He didn't look at you as a member of a clan, someone he could marry and have an easy life with, he saw you as a genuine person. He was the person that showed you the hobbies you were forbidden from doing, and you felt like you were finding yourself.
However, your family caught wind of it. You knew they would never approve of such a relationship, and when Kokomi had asked for your presence, you feared that they requested to talk to you.
Nope. Your mother was right there, Kokomi allowing you both time to talk. Of course, you knew Kokomi would be eavesdropping, solely to make sure you were safe and you weren't some traitor.
"We were worried sick, my darling." She sweetly gushes, you wincing at the tone. "What brought you out here?"
You stay silent, knowing there was no easy way of saying it. When she stays silent, forcing you to talk, you finally speak.
"I am here to do something about the vision hunt decree. It isn't morally right, mother, surely you understand that?" You ask.
"Yes, but that wasn't what I was asking for." Your mother huffs out. "I heard you were getting close to someone here." She continues, not letting you intervene with her words. "With someone who is not worthy of the clan."
"Yes. I am interested in someone." You state, holding eye contact with your mother. "He makes me feel like I'm human, and I appreciate the warmth I feel when I am with him."
"You are forbidden from even associating with people below us!" Your mother yells. "Lord Ayato is a single man, he is worthy of association! You should have courted him instead of that... that thing!"
"General Gorou isn't a thing! I love him!" You yell, your mother gasping.
"Oh my god, you're dating him? That's disgusting, you wouldn't have even gone for a human." Your mother grimaces.
"Gorou -"
"Enough!" Your mother holds her hand up, disgusted at your words. "I wish I'd known when you were born that you were going to betray me like this." Your mother grumbles, shaking her head. You don't show a reaction, knowing this was most likely her way of getting under your skin. "You are an insult to the family. From this day onwards, you are no longer considered a member of our clan." Your mother huffs, walking out.
Kokomi walks in once your mother has left, checking on you. you don't really feel anything in the moment, simply thanking her for showing concern before getting back to work, Gorou following once he spots you returning.
"How did the conversation go?" Gorou asks hopefully.
It was like the straw that broke the camels back, you couldn't stop yourself from crying. He holds you in his arms, letting you cry into his shoulder before you calm down enough to tell him that your mother had disowned you due to your disinterest in going for a 'worthy person to wed'.
"Is this because of me? I should have asked if your parents would have approved of me before getting closer, I'm sorry." Gorou sighs out.
"Mother wasn't happy to hear you were who I was interested in, but she wouldn't have approved of any commoner." You explain. "Over the years, I grew to hate the idea of simply marrying someone my parent's suggested."
"...It's because I'm a hybrid, isn't it?" Gorou pouts, holding you tighter as if you were going to leave him because of what your mother said about 'his kind'.
"It was a lot of reasons, my love." You respond. "That was only one thing she didn't approve of."
Truthfully, part of you felt bad for feeling a sense of relief after finding out you were no longer considered family to your biological family. They would have dictated your entire life, but now you didn't have to fear the idea of being married off.
Because now, you were happy to become Gorou's other half.

Prompt: Wei Wuxian has achieved time travel! He's gonna fix so many broken things. Unfortunately, WWX has miscalculated a teensy tiny variable and instead of arriving in his original 15yo body in Lotus Pier, he's crash landed in MXY's tiny 7~8yo body at Mo Manor. But no problem, he can fix this if he can just find his real body. (Meanwhile, Yunmeng Jiang's head disciple is acting the wrong kind of childish, aka, Mo Xuanyu is having the weirdest day of his young life.)
Switcheroo - ao3
Mo Xuanyu thought that this Wei Wuxian person whose body he’d stolen must have been a really interesting person, mostly because he’d been here for three days so far and nobody’d noticed the switch yet.
Possibly it had to do with the fact that Mo Xuanyu still wasn’t exactly sure how he’d stolen the body – he’d just gone to sleep in the shed, same as always, and then he’d woken up in the softest bed he’d ever encountered in his life…no, softer than even his dreams! He’d thought it over and concluded that he must have died from cold out in the shed, turned into a fierce ghost out of resentment, grown powerful (somehow), then stolen some rich young master’s body when they weren’t paying close enough attention and, once he’d possessed the body, promptly lost all his memory of being a ghost.
It seemed like the only logical course of events.
He was very sorry about it, though. Wei Wuxian seemed like a nice, if very unusual person.
The first day, Mo Xuanyu had barely even noticed the body-switch, being quite so enamored of the soft bed he was in – he’d refused to get out of bed at all, declaring that he was going to lie in and sleep for a century or more, and the people who’d come to the door to get him didn’t beat him or anything over it, but rather just laughed or rolled their eyes and then left him to it. Luckily, at the time, he’d just assumed he was dead or something and proceeded to ignore everything in favor of napping.
He only acknowledged that he was alive later in the afternoon, when his stomach started growling – it seemed like a very unlikely thing for a dead man’s stomach to do.
Mo Xuanyu had by that point figured out that he wasn’t himself anymore, which was fine since he didn’t much like himself; he’d also figured out, through looking himself over, that he was old now. At least fifteen or sixteen, which was twice the age he last remembered himself being. That was fine, too, though: being older meant that he was stronger and faster and would be better able to handle it when people wanted to beat him or something. Most importantly, though, it meant he was old enough to enter the kitchen on his own!
Mo Xuanyu already knew that he wasn’t allowed to eat at the main table, being only the bastard son of the younger daughter, and the cook back at home was a fierce woman who didn’t allow anyone under the age of ten into her kitchen; as a result, he had to wait for his mother to bring him back some food, and it was always cold and not quite enough. Now, though, since he was older, he figured he might as well try to go to the kitchen and fill his belly that way.
Luckily, while his current body’s house was much bigger than the Mo house, all houses were generally built along the same lines, so it wasn’t hard to find the kitchen. Everyone there laughed when he showed up, even though he’d tried to be very quiet and sneak in and then screwed it up by tripping over his own feet – it seemed like everyone thought he was doing it on purpose to be funny – and then the cooks gave him a meal of his own that was hot and fresh and wonderful.
He'd wolfed it down.
“Honestly, Wei Wuxian, you eat like a hungry ghost, you’d think the Jiang clan starves you,” one of them scolded him, but with a smile, and from that Mo Xuanyu learned that the rich young master was called Wei Wuxian and that he lived with the Jiang clan. The different surnames confused him a little, but he didn’t dare ask any questions about it, so he just stuffed his mouth and pretended that was the reason he couldn’t answer.
No one questioned it.
No one questioned it when he went wandering all around instead of doing whatever chores or duties he’d been assigned, either. Someone had actually seen him hovering by a door and asked him to bring back a pheasant when he returned, so out of lack of better options he’d headed outside to try to go find one.
He had a pretty good time walking around the forest, then remembered what he’d been asked and chased the pheasants for a while, without success . Fortunately, he then got lucky and stumbled over an old snare that had three pheasants caught inside, so he’d picked up the whole box and carted it back home.
“Three,” one of the boys in purple-blue marveled as he saw Mo Xuanyu walking towards the kitchen. “You know, people say that the birds around the Lotus Pier have gotten too smart to be caught easily, but look at our da-shixiong; he makes it look easy!”
From this, Mo Xuanyu could figure out that Wei Wuxian was (apparently!) part of a cultivator clan, apparently located at a place called the Lotus Pier, and that he was the oldest or at least head disciple, to boot. He knew all about cultivator clans from his mother, since apparently his father had been a sect leader, and that meant he knew enough to call the other boy ‘shidi’ as he passed, making the other boy beam happily.
It also meant that when he chanced a guess and called the young woman in a pretty pink dress who waved at him ‘shijie’, she smiled and nodded, which meant to him that he’d done the right thing.
“I heard you slept even more of the morning away than usual,” she told him, but didn’t seem too upset about it. “I bet that means you’ll be skipping dinner and staying up all night, hmm?”
Mo Xuanyu had no intention of skipping dinner if it was anything like what the kitchens had given him earlier, actually, but while he was still trying to figure out a way to say that, she said, leaning in close to whisper, “It’s probably a good idea, anyway – Mother and Father are fighting again. Just go to the kitchens to grab something…I promise I’ll make it up to you with some soup tomorrow, pork ribs and lotus roots, your favorite. All right?”
“Shijie, you’re the best,” Mo Xuanyu said effusively, willing to die for her at once, and she laughed and tousled his hair.
“I am,” she said, looking happy. “And if my little A-Xian stays good and obedient, I may even feed him.”
She did, too, the next day when he finally tore himself out of the beautiful wonderful soft bed and went to go find her. She’d made him soup, just as he’d promised, and laughed and laughed for some reason: apparently, she interpreted him being quiet and not talking too much as his efforts to be ‘good and obedient’, which was apparently so out of the ordinary as to be a deliberate joke.
From this, Mo Xuanyu concluded that the young master he’d possessed, Wei Wuxian, was a jackass.
Well, perhaps that was a bit harsh. Arrogant and self-centered, talented and brave and probably brilliant, definitely charming and maybe even kind, but also spoiled and inclined to step on other people to get where he wanted to go, if Mo Xuanyu had to guess – why else would everyone constantly react as if him not being obnoxious was the world’s biggest stunt?
No one seemed to expect anything of him at all: he didn’t do any chores, and no one batted an eyelid; he didn’t go where he was told, and everyone just sighed…at one point the sect leader himself came and patted him on the head, scolding him in a joking tone that he hadn’t seen him leading any of the training the way he was supposed to – but when Mo Xuanyu quailed, he’d burst out laughing, telling ‘Wei Wuxian’ to stop pretending to be a scared little rabbit, that it was fine if he’d gotten distracted by some clever new invention or whatever, that someone else would handle it, that he should take as long as he needed.
Mo Xuanyu had pasted a great big smile on his face through force of effort and agreed cheerfully.
The sect leader had accepted it.
Probably a jackass, but clearly a beloved one, Mo Xuanyu thought to himself as he packed up clothing and a few small treasures that no one would miss, a little wistful. The scare of the whole encounter had put things in perspective – he wasn’t going to be able to keep up this sort of façade for long. In fact, he was shocked he’d managed it so long already; surely, no matter how many pranks this Wei Wuxian played, no matter how childishly he behaved, surely someone should’ve noticed that he was actually an eight-year-old masquerading as a sixteen-year-old?
Mo Xuanyu couldn’t decide whether it was sad that no one paid too much attention or something that this Wei Wuxian fellow had brought down on his own head by being so consistently annoying.
Either way, there was nothing for it – he was going to have to leave.
Now that part was really sad: he’d never in his life had such good food, or such a soft bed, or even so many people that just seemed plain old happy to see him as since he’d arrived in this place. But he wasn’t the one all those things were for; he was just a sad ghost possessing a person, and if he stayed, the cultivators would eventually figure out something was wrong and exorcise him.
Probably violently.
Mo Xuanyu probably deserved it, too, but despite that he wasn’t willing.
So he packed up what he could and headed out.
He got all the way to the gate before a new purple-clad disciple – about his age, if he had to guess, and holding a pack like he’d just come back from a trip, with a scowl on his face – called out for Wei Wuxian.
Mo Xuanyu waved a little, hoping that that would be enough.
For the first time, it wasn’t.
The boy’s face settled into an even deeper scowl.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you?” he demanded. “Wei Wuxian! You’re acting all weird – hey! Where are you going?”
Mo Xuanyu was running away, obviously. He wasn’t about to get tied up and exorcised, no thank you.
He didn’t think he’d make it, but it was still worth trying.
Sure enough, the purple-clad boy who was probably called Jiang Cheng, based on what everyone was calling out as they ran by, got tired of running and jumped on his sword, and there was no way Mo Xuanyu would be able to outrun a sword, not even if he tried as fast as he –
Someone picked him up.
It wasn’t Jiang Cheng.
Mo Xuanyu turned his head and stared.
It must be some sort of yao, he thought. Humans were definitely not that pretty.
“Lan Wangji!” Jiang Cheng howled. “What are you even doing in the Lotus Pier?! Put my shixiong down!”
The rescuer, Lan Wangji, frowned a little at Mo Xuanyu.
Mo Xuanyu didn’t know exactly what expression he ought to be making in return, and was a bit too dazed to even dare to guess. He’d just noticed that they were flying – flying! on a sword! – and he was clutching onto this Lan Wangji’s shoulders for dear life.
“You are not Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji said. His voice sounded very definitive.
“Uh,” Mo Xuanyu said. “Sorry? Please don’t drop me.”
“I will not. What is your name?”
“Mo Xuanyu,” Mo Xuanyu admitted, and Lan Wangji’s eyes widened as if that meant something to him – except it couldn’t, of course, because Mo Xuanyu was sure he’d never met anyone even remotely like this Lan Wangji fellow in his life. “I don’t remember taking his body. I’m sorry. Can you not exorcise me? I don’t want to die.”
Lan Wangji was silent for a long moment.
He was still flying very fast, and Jiang Cheng was still following, shouting out curses and demands that he stop, not that Lan Wangji was listening.
“There will be no exorcism,” he finally said, and Mo Xuanyu exhaled in relief. “We will, however, fix this.”
“…we?”
“Wei Ying and myself.”
Mo Xuanyu nodded. That sounded more likely than anyone relying on his participation.
“Where are we going?” he asked. Jiang Cheng was falling further and further behind.
“Mo Village.”
Mo Xuanyu tensed up at once.
“You will not be left there,” Lan Wangji clarified, and – how did he know that Mo Xuanyu didn’t want to be left there? “But we must collect Wei Ying, who I suspect is currently in your body.”
“In my…I’m still alive?”
Lan Wangji was quiet again, and then said, “Yes. And you will remain so.”
That was reassuring, mostly.
“Okay,” Mo Xuanyu said, and found that he mostly felt relieved. He’d be very happy to have his normal body back again, if possible, especially if he didn’t have to stay in Mo Village…“Wait, if I don’t have to stay there, where will I go? I don’t have anywhere else to go, unless my father comes back for me. He's a sect leader –”
“He will not, and even if he did, you should not go with him. Once Wei Ying returns to his body, you will be able to stay at the Lotus Pier. If you do not wish to stay there, I will bring you back to the Cloud Recesses – that is my home – instead.”
“Oh,” Mo Xuanyu said, feeling bewildered. That was an awfully nice offer, even if Lan Wangji was feeling guilty about Wei Wuxian stealing his body by accident – which seemed like what had happened here rather than Mo Xuanyu being the one who did the stealing. Maybe he should go with Lan Wangji instead, he seemed much more responsible than Wei Wuxian was, rushing over to rescue him and explain things instead of throwing him into a body and leaving him all alone in a strange place. But on the other hand… “Is the Cloud Recesses…I mean…no offense, but…does it have…”
“Yes?”
“Does it have soft beds, too? And – and hot food?”
Mo Xuanyu didn’t need much, not really. He looked eagerly at Lan Wangji, who had an odd expression on his face briefly before wiping it back to neutral and nodding in confirmation.
“Okay,” Mo Xuanyu said, and curled up in Lan Wangji’s arms. “Then I’ll stay with you. You can take care of me.”
“I will,” Lan Wangji said, sounding strangely serious. “In return for the gift you last gave me – I will.”

“If you can, please send a grade one sorcerer or higher but that won’t be necessary if I don't die,” you sternly commented, leading both Fushiguro and Ijichi to shiver at the statement you just announced.
Still shaken at what you had just said, Ijichi sent himself off before closing the window to prevent any cold raindrops from coming at him as he drove away from the area you and Fushiguro were standing in right now.
“If you don’t want to listen to me, I ain’t going to listen to you at all then Fushiguro,” you stated with a frown painted on your face before looking back at the building behind his body.
Taking your katana, you looked at the bottom of the handle to find a metal loop at the bottom with a red charm tied before it was simply slowly unwinded by you as you prepared for the worst that was about to come.
“What are you doing L/N?” Fushiguro asked in a worried tone, causing you to turn to look at him with a deadpan expression.
“Just preparing for the worst Fushiguro”
                                               ꕥ
The rain was still unsettled as you stared at the building of the detention centre that was in front of you with a nonchalant look present on your face. Carefully, you hook your katana on the side of your left hip rather than the usual spot of your back since you knew you were going to need extremely quick access to your weapon if your prediction of what was going to happen was going to become a reality.
Suddenly, there was a swift but noticeable change in the air causing you to grab Fushiguro’s sleeve to pull him closer to you in case of any attacks that would happen since he was standing behind you, out of your central view.
“The Innate Domain’s closed off, the special-grade is dead!” Fushiguro stated to you in a shocked but quiet tone, causing the grip you had on his sleeve to tighten since the feeling in the pit of your stomach was becoming agonising to the point where you wanted to vomit it out.
Yet, you weren’t fearful for yourself but rather the wellbeing of the shikigami user behind you and the classmate, who was still inside the building at this current moment in time.
“We just need Itadori to return safely now,” Fushiguro hopefully whispered, yet you had given no response since you knew that the chance of the mentioned classmate coming back with himself out rather than Sukuna was extremely low.
“That’s almost impossible, from what I can recall, him and Sukuna haven’t even agreed to a bi-” you began to explain, only for a sudden aggressive presence to stop you in your tracks to which Fushiguro also felt as you both froze on the stop you both were standing in right now.
“Sorry, but he’s not coming back”
A familiar voice from behind you spoke leading to both of you and Fushiguro to freeze on the stop before you came to the sense that what you had predicted was proven right. However, you didn’t foresee that he was coming straight to the both of you, even when he had threatened it clearly before Fushiguro dragged you away to search for Kugisaki.
“Don’t be so frightened, I’m in a good mood right now, let’s chat for a bit,” Sukuna calmly mentioned as he processed to make his appearance in front of you both since you refused to look in the opposite direction.
“This is what he gets for trying to use me without any kind of pact, feels like he’s having some trouble switching back,” Sukuna pronounced as he turned to the side.
‘To be honest, it was surprising for him to switch back after eating the finger without the pact’ you thought before letting out of Fushiguro’s sleeve once you was comfortable that he was out of harm's way, ‘besides that should be enough cursed energy for now,’ you internally spoke before taking a quick glance on the same area where you hand was as you processed to place the same hand on the handle of your katana.
“Still, though it’s only a matter of time,” Sukuna stated, as he gripped onto Itadori’s school jacket before unexpectantly ripping into shreds to showcase his muscular upper body, revealing the strange back marking he adorned on his chest.
“So, I thought about what I can do right now,” the King of Curses uttered before raising his hand to suddenly puncture a hole within the middle of his check, shocking both you and Fushiguro from his gruesome action as hints of blood started to pour from the corner of his lips.
‘Shit! I haven’t finished preparing,’ you pondered in a panic manner, as your hand was still on your weapon’s handle, transferring some of your cursed energy to your katana, making sure it had reached to the tip of the blade within the wooden casing for what you were planning to execute.
“Wh-what are you..” Fushiguro stuttered as he looked at the scene in complete horror, only for a massive pool of blood to pour in the middle between Sukuna’s legs before forcibly ripping out the most vital organ needed for Itadori to come back alive.
“I’m taking this brat hostage,” Sukuna declared, as he proudly and sadistically presented the heart he had taken out to you and Fushiguro, causing you to internally become repulsed at the scene since you still needed to concentrate shifting a tiny amount of cursed energy needed to your katana.
“Hostage?!” Fushiguro snarled as he shifted back slightly.
“Yeah, I can live without this, but that ain’t true for the brat,” Sukuna informed you and Fushiguro, as he then tossed the heart to the side like it was a piece of trash he needed to get rid of quickly.
“Switching out with me means he dies. Also, for good measure,” Sukuna mentioned before revealing a finger in his hand causing you to look at the cursed object he had just now swallowed with widened eyes.
‘I thought it wasn’t his finger that the special-grade curse consumed! Fuck!’
“With that, I'm free as a bird, you can be frightened now, I’ll kill you both for no particular reason,” Sukuna declared as he flexed his hand leading you to rapidly unleash your blade from its black wooden casing for the first time since the unfortunate day as you were now prepared to fight against the King of Curses.
“Our positions are reversed now,” Fushiguro muttered under his breath (to which you heard) before he determinedly looked at the curse right in front of him as he positioned himself in a fighting stance causing a wave of anxiety to consume you.
‘One of his divine dogs are already down, if he risks another shikigami, that possibly will also get destroyed in the process’
“You just don’t get it, he’s..Itadori’s coming back even if that means he’ll die, that’s just who he is,” Fushiguro determinedly stated while staring down at Sukuna.
“You give him too much credit, this guy’s just a little tougher and denser than other humans” Sukuna countered back with a smirk on his face before processing to wipe off the blood staining his lip with the back of his hand.
“Just a moment ago, he was scared out of his mind, on the verge of death and prattling on about his regrets and all that nonsense, I know for a fact he doesn’t have the guts to kill himself,” Sukuna taunted as he smiles smugly at both of you.
‘A special-grade has the ability to used Reserve Cursed Techniques, so it wouldn’t be hard for him to use it on his heart, I just need to slide down somewhere around his chest area to force him to do that’
Shifting your eyes to the side, you noticed Fushiguro’s hands were shaking leading you to internally sigh since you knew he was thinking the same idea as you, while probably debating the fact on how he could make Sukuna revive his heart before Itadori switches back as well as how he was going to battle against a special-grade.
“Should I make the first move then?” you rhetorically asked, before swiftly throwing your katana towards Sukuna like it was a spear, only for him to dough the weapon even at its immense speed.
“You think that was going to hit me?! Maybe you ain’t the fighting type as I suggested!” Sukuna roared in amusement, not noticing how you seemingly suddenly grabbed onto thin air (like you were holding onto a hanging support handle on a bus) before pulling your arm back in a fast motion, resulting in the attacking blade unexpectedly return back to you as quick as it was thrown, for it to then slash a massive slit on Sukuna’s cheek causing the curse to look at you in complete surprised before you swiftly moved forwards towards him, grabbing the handle of the travelling blade to attempt to slash down on your targeted area, only for Sukuna to dodge as quickly as he could.
‘Damn, but that should be fine for now’
However, before you could even attempt to get another chance of getting a slit around his check area, you heard incoming footsteps from your side leading you to deck down as you suddenly saw a leg swing above your head, indicating to you that Fushiguro had made a move to attack the cursed vessel, yet once again Sukuna managed to dodge against as well as the incoming punches that came along with Fushiguro’s attempts.
“Interesting, not only the girl managed to injure me but you use shikigami, but you’ll still come at me yourself?” Sukuna questioned, as he seemed amused at both of you and Fushiguro.
However, before he could mention another word there was a light pressure placed on his right shoulder causing him to turn back, only to find you in a lower stance with your index and middle finger to be pressed upon his shoulder blade.
“Destructive Curse Spell number four: Byakurai,” you chanted, before a high-density of cursed energy was discharged from the tip of your index finger to form a concentrated bolt of lighting leading it to pierce a noticeable hole on Sukuna’s shoulder surprising him as well as Fushiguro, since you angled it well away from him getting hit before you once again attempted to swing your katana down upon his back to execute your plan only for him to dodge it come again.
‘Fuck sake! You make it so easy to hit you the first time but when I want to slice you down, you suddenly dodge it!’
However, before you could use another cursed spell, a shikigami made its way to attack Sukuna leading you to discover it was Nue only for Sukuna to once again avoid the strike of its sharp talons before Fushiguro aims to get a hit at Sukuna, only for the King of Curses to block them with his arms. Yet you couldn’t help but internally smile the second you saw the wrist that you were holding onto earlier had made contact with Sukuan’s arms.
‘If plan A doesn’t work out, B will do just fine for now’
However, your hint of internal happiness quickly ended once you saw Fushiguro take a hit from Sukuna’s fist causing hints of blood to escape from his mouth leading you to quickly stand up straight as you rushed over to the scene. Yet, before you could even attempt to attack the curse again, you felt a presence underneath you causing your body to instinctively move again before a large snake appeared from the ground catching Sukuna within its mouth lifting him in the air as he was stunned with surprise at the fact of his sneak attack.
“Gang up on him!” Fushiguro yelled out to his shikigami, leading Nue’s wings to surround itself with purple lightning as it attempted to land a hit on Sukuna, only for him to duck at the right moment before it tried again, only for it to have the same result.
“Fushiguro, deactivate the snake now before it’s destroyed!” you screamed at your fighting partner. However, before he even got the message you suddenly saw fragments of what seemed to be the snake’s skin falling down in front of you before noticing Sukuna was already behind Fushiguro, tightly gripping onto the back of his dark blue sorcerer jacket.
“Hey, what did I just say? Let’s use the open space!” Sukuna shouted, before aggressively flinging Fushiguro up in the air before following the sorcerer himself, leaving you behind to witness his inhuman strength.
‘Shit, they’re going to get to the edge of the evacuation area!’
Reaching into the depths of your skirt pocket, you quickly pulled out a long, white cloth before letting it spin around you at a large radius as it slowly began to enclose the gaps that were making you visible to the world.
‘Sentan Hakuja,’ you internally chanted before the cloth coiled you complete before speedily teleporting you in front to what seemed to be like a construction site or an abandoning building, you weren’t quite sure. However, what you were sure of was that Fushiguro and Sukuna hadn’t noticed that you had arrived despite the vast entrance you had made from your cursed technique - but what you were most afraid of was the fact the Nue was gone, causing you to worry at the fact that now that shikigami was destroyed.
“What a waste of talent, but the girl back at that place, she knows how to use her technique extremely well,” Sukuna announced, causing Fushiguro to look at the King of Curses in both confusion as well as frustration at the fact he had mentioned you, worried if he was about to get killed, Sukuna would hunt you down next.
“Whatever, either way, that won’t be enough to fix this, you’re risking your life over stupid shit,” Sukuna stated as he pointed the hole on his chest. However, it seemed like you had enough of the conversation.
“Activate!” you yelled out before stabbing your katana to the ground, causing both males to turn around to finally notice you. However, it was too late for Sukuna to have the opportunity to counter what you were doing as he felt something restraining his arm’s movement before noticing what seemed to be a blue web-like strand attached to both his shoulders, yet when he turned to you, you seemed to be in the same situation but with one arm free.
“L/N!” Fushiguro yelled out in a panic before noticing that you were not at all afraid but rather calm despite the situation that you both were in now.
“What is this?” Sukuna questioned, as he observed the web-like structure you had created only for you to glance at him with a deadpan expression on your face.
“It’s just a simple web I created from pure cursed energy that is retaining the both of us right now,” you answered as you continued to peer at the confused King of Curses, who was trying to rip away from the strand-like he had with the shikigami snake, only to no avail as he struggled to move his whole upper body in general.
“How come? You didn’t touch me except for the cursed technique you used?!” Sukuna roared as he glared at you only for you to then let out a sigh of frustration.
‘It’s such a drag to explain…’
“I transferred some of my cursed energy to Fushiguro’s wrist as well as to my katana, so when they made contact with you, it allowed me to connect the strands of the web to those areas where you had been hit, also the protective spell I placed on the back of Itadori’s neck before we went in the detention centre was surprisingly still intact, allowing me to track you and the chain at the end of my katana to restain you further,” you thoroughly explained, before clicking your fingers causing the sudden but slow reveal of the long black chain (attached at the end of your handle - on the metal loop where the red charm was) that you had concealed with your cursed energy to appear surrounding you and Sukuna at a large radius while the extra length was tightly wrapped around his upper body.
“That was how I pulled my katana back at the beginning of the fight if that’s what you were also wondering,” you commented, leading Sukuna to look at you with a larger smirk than what you thought his reaction would have been.
“You possess such intellect, such skill, such power and such talent and yet you refuse to go against me with your full potential, are you mocking me?” Sukuna asked, before laughing causing you to look at him suspiciously, yet you couldn’t let that bother you at all, right now all you needed was for Itadori to switch back even if he was going to die.
“Even though I technically didn’t save you, Fushiguro did but I would like to give my answer I guess,” you commented before running your hands through your wet hair trying to push away the strands that were concealing your vision slightly.
“I should have exorcised you back then, in fact it’s my duty as part of the L/N Clan to, but I know you’re a good person at heart Itadori, I knew that since the day I saw you back at school and probably Fushiguro saw that as well when he decided to save you,” you explained with a smile, as you began to notice the markings gradually disappear from his face and body causing you to slowly deactivate the cursed energy web that was immobilising you and Itadori while the chain that was coiled around him slowly began to loosen its grip on him.
“It was for selfish and emotional reasons but that’s fine though,” Fushiguro stated as his posture relaxed once he noticed that you were slowly lowering your guard, “I’m not a hero, I’m a jujutsu sorcerer, so I’ve never once regretted saving you,” he then announced with a smile on his face.
Suddenly, itadori looked at you with a smile on his face before turning to look at Fushiguro, who was behind him. “I see, you really are smart, Fushiguro, Gojo,  you’ve put more thought into this than I have,” Itadori mentioned with a smile, as he pushed his hair back, “I think your conviction’s a proper one, but I don’t think mine is wrong, either,”.
Suddenly, more blood started to drip down from his wound causing you to move forwards to make sure that Itadori didn’t fall down completely. “Oh, sorry, I’m almost done for, guess I won’t have to worry you guys, Kugisaki, or Gojo-sensei, live a long life,” Itadori faintly stated to you both before falling straight into your arms causing you to fall to your knees due to his heavyweight causing your skirt and high-knee socks to become soaked in the rain that already bathed your hair and face.
The rain only grew heavily as seconds went by, only reflecting on the disappointment and devastation that was coming from both you and Fushiguro, as you both stayed silent letting the rain consume you both for the time being.
Maybe after the rain, he might come back.
‘Please come back’
                                               ꕥ
“So you had your suspicions?” you questioned your adopted father, as you leaned against the railing of the balcony, while he stood next to you leaning against the same railing.
“There was a special grade there, sending the first-years to rescue five who may or may not be alive is out of order, even if you are capable of exorcising it Y/N,” Gojo explained causing you to realise where this was going.
“So what you are saying is, since you indefinitely suspended Itadori’s execution, that got some higher-ups upset, leading us to go do that mission, in order for Itadori to be killed?” you suggested, leading Gojo to turn silent at your comment, leading you to get the answer you were expecting even if no words were exchanged.
“You’re strong though Y/N, you effortlessly fought like Sukuna was just a normal curse,” Gojo complimented you, only for you to give him no response since it was not a good time for you to be praised.
You failed at saving Itadori.
“As a special grade like your father, I need you to look out for Megumi and Nobara for a while, train them to the best of your abilities since we got an event coming up!” Gojo cheered, leading you to present him with a glare.
‘What a drag...I really can’t be bothered to be in an event’
“I’m going to check on the others Gojo-sensei, I’ll see you later,” you stated before standing on the feet as you than processed to walk away with your hand up, as a way to wave him ‘goodbye’.
“Call me dad for once Y/N~” Gojo shouted, leading you to groan in annoyance before making your way to the entrance, where you knew Fushiguro and Kugisaki were since Gojo did take you away from them when he found you sitting with them on the stone steps near the entrance of the school.
After some time, you finally managed to reach your destination as you found yourself standing at the top of the extra steps above your classmates, before noticing a few new faces further below, leading you to become perplexed since you weren’t expecting any other sorcerers to come by today - well...that’s what Gojo said.
“Don’t tell me the other student died as well?” the female sorcerer question, leading you to look in her direction in confusion since she seemed a little familiar to you for some reason.
‘Ah, she was the person I saw when I moved into the dorm, but she didn’t really see me’
“I’m right here,” you commented, leading to everyone that was in your view to look up at your direction to find you standing with your arms crossed before you steadily made your way down the steps as you processed to stand a step above between Fushiguro and Kugisaki, who were still seated on the same spot they were in when you had left them for a few minutes.
“You don’t even have a scratch on you,” the female sorcerer commented, as she noticed you didn’t have any patches or bandages like the other two first-years had once you observed you.
“She’s a strong sorcerer,” Fushiguro commented, leading you to kick his back before commenting that he was a strong sorcerer as well.
“Ah! Are you the special grade, Gojo was mentioning about?” the large Panda asked, causing you to give him a glance before answering, “I don’t believe I’m a special-grade sorcerer but if that what my drag ass of an adoptive dad ranked me, then I guess I am,”.
“Who are you guys?” you then asked since it seemed like they had already done their introductions for Kugisaki. Although, it seemed like your female classmate was in the same sort of confusion as you since she noted to you that she had no idea who the fellow sorcerers were.
“Our second-year upperclassmen,” Fushiguro nonchalantly answered before he continued by introducing them to you and Kugisaki.
“Zenin-senpai is the best of all the students at wielding cursed tools, that’s the Cursed Speech user, Inumaki-senpai, he can only speak in ingredients of onigiri and that’s panda senpai,” Fushiguro introduced everyone causing some questions to manifest in your head.
‘Zenin ha?..she doesn’t seem like the one that my mum was talking about, so I don’t have to suspect her but is there anything else to add for Panda-senpai?’
“There’s one more, Okkotsu-senpai, who is the only one I can openly respect, but he’s overseas right now,” Fushiguro added, before slowly standing on his two feet.
“You’re not adding more about the panda named Panda?” Kugisaki asked as she looked up at the shikigami user to gain some information, only to be ignored.
“Man, sorry about this and when you’re in mourning...please forgive us for that,” Panda apologised before placing his hands together as a sign to be forgiven, even though that sign reminded you about something else.
‘Ah...that’s the same hand gesture for one of my cursed spells’
“The truth is, we’d like you to participate in the Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event,” Panda explained, causing you to recall about an ‘event’ Gojo had mentioned to you.
“Oh, that’s what he meant,” you whispered before Kugisaki interrupted you by repeating the event’s name in confusion.
“What’s that?” Kugisaki asked as she turned to Fushiguro looking for the answer.
“It’s a get-together with the other Tech school in Kyoto, though isn’t that event mainly second and third-years?” the erratic-haired sorcerer answered your classmate before questioning the invitation since all of you were first-years.
“And those stupid third-years are suspended right now, so you need to participate,” Zenin explained, causing you to look to the side with an annoyed expression on your face since you realised that this meant you had to cover up your tracks more than you were bothered to do.
“What do you do at this event? Smash Bros? I won’t lose if it’s the Wii version, I’ll Meteor Smash so you can’t come back” Kugisaki randomly mentioned with a determined look on her face as she formed a fist, causing you to look in her direction with a confused face since you didn’t know how she came to that conclusion in the first place.
“Then let’s make a 3-man team, the exchange event has the principals of the Tokyo and Kyoto schools each propose a form of competition to be held for an entire day over the course of two days, though that’s how it is on paper,” Panda informed you and Kugasaki, who were oblivious to what this event was in general.
“Every year, the first day is a team battle, and the second day is individual battles,” Panda explained, leading Inumaki to agree with him by saying ‘salmon’ as his confirmation to his classmates' explanation.
“Individual and team battles? We fight?! Against other jujutsu sorcerers?!” Kugisaki shouted after realising what the event really entailed, causing you to look at her before lightly smacking the back of her head.
“You just realised that?” you asked in a dumbfounded tone.
“Yeah, it’s a jujutsu battle where anything but killing goes,” Zenin confirmed with a huge grin causing you internal sigh at the fact that you had to hide the use of your cursed technique since that would blow your cover entirely.
“We’ll train you up well so you won’t get killed. Yeah, yeah, yeah!” Panda declared before he started to throw some air punched after every ‘yeah’ he said.
“Wait, do you have time for that? I thought we were short on jujutsu sorcerers,” Kugisaki asked since she concluded that there were only six of you right now.
“That’s a good question, For now, we are. The glim emotions people harbour from late winter through spring cause an outburst of curses in the early summer, so that’s our busy season,” Panda explained as Zenin then explained that some sorcerers are busy all year long, but since things are settling down soon, it should be fine.
“So, you’ll do it, right? You just had a partner die on you, after all,” Zenin asked, as she was waiting for all your responses.
“We’re in!” Fushiguro and Kugisaki simultaneously answered with determined looks on their faces before turning back to look at you, waiting for your answer.
Letting out a sigh of frustration, you knew that you had no way out of this since they looked so motivated for you to join, even if you disagreed with them.
“This is such a drag, but fine, I’ll join in too,” you replied with a small smile on your face leading them to nod at you before turning back to your seniors.
“But if I decided this training and exchange event is pointless, I’m quitting instantly,” Kugisaki mentioned.
“Same here,” Fushiguro commented, causing you to kick both of them on the back much to their surprise.
“So you drags make me do this event, only for you to dip when it’s pointless for you, besides I heard there are some interesting sorcerers in the Kyoto side, so prepare yourselves,” you stated before stepping down the few steps you were in front of before standing between them.
“Well, people this cocky are all more worthwhile to train,” Panda mentioned with his arms folded with a determined look on his face.
“Bonito flakes,” Inumaki said in a softer tone.
Looking up to the sky, you couldn’t help but brisk in the sunlight that was shining lightly down upon you, leading you to raise your hand over your face in order to not be blinded.
‘I wonder how I’m going to hide from this one now?’

Strawberry Flavored Pocky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing : teen! gojo x gender neutral reader warnings : the big three: unedited, most likely badly written, and some cursing. also there’s like.. graphic imagery that gojo and reader exchange to eachother. it’s just banter though! wordcount : 2273 a/n : for that one anon that wanted teen gojo. my stroke of genius always occurs when im eating strawberry flavored pocky i swear.. anyways yeah this is unfiltered writing n it’s probably like not the best tbh and maybe i didn’t nail teen gojo’s personality but u know what this was so fun to write
Tumblr media
     The sound of the tear of the wrapper containing the Pocky you had just bought was music to your ears, crinkling with every touch. Your fingers are itching to grab for the deliciously coated sticks, but you’re stopped by someone none other than Gojo Satoru himself.       “What’d you get?” he inquired, seemingly unbothered by the face you were making, he hadn’t even greeted you with a simple, “Hello.” he sat down on the bench seat right next to you, uninvited.       In his hand were many bags of various sweet treats, you could only make out some familiar ones- ramune flavored gummies, a bag of chips, vibrantly colored candy. Your lips quirk downwards, exhaling, turning to face the setting sun.       “Just some Pocky.” you flatly respond, beginning to pick the biscuit up. Contrary to Gojo’s wide choice of snacks, you only really had one favorite- Pocky. Specifically, Strawberry flavored Pocky. The sweet, yet somewhat tart aftertaste treat dominated your mind almost day and night. It wasn’t everyday that Yaga would be lenient enough to take the four of you to the local convenience store. You were waiting for Shoko and Geto to finish shopping to finally head home for a night of yummy snacking.       Gojo sighs, lazily dropping the treats right next to his side, they sat idly, limply resting on his thigh as he crossed his right leg over his left knee. His hands warmly nestled into his snowy white hair, his elbows jutting into your personal bubble.        “Not one to chat, are you? What’s the problem? You scared?” his tone is teasing, and you jerk your head to face his. Your head is tilted, like your confused, but in reality you’re just astounded how obnoxious he was.       “Why in the world would I be scared of you? You wouldn’t lay a finger on me. Yaga-Senpai would rip your limbs off one by one and fling you into the horizon! And he’s not even that far away, I could report you to him if you even get on my nerves in the slightest.” you shot back, huffing and taking your first bite on the biscuit. You instantly melt.       He flashes you a toothy smile, and you stiffen, did he ever take anything seriously? “Oh my, so riled up. Only scaredy-cats would talk about how not scared they were. Look, you’re even shaking-” he gestures to your just slightly shaking, tightened grip on your Pocky. “-I win, Y/N! Boo hoo, case closed, gimme your Pocky~”        “No, fuck you and your fat ass trying to take my Pocky, I’m not shaking from fear anyways.” you sternly retort, warmth rushing to your cheeks for whatever reason. “I’m shaking because I’m resisting the urge to duct tape your mouth shut and gouge your eyeballs out.”       He chuckles warmly as if your gruesome detailing was humorous, he probably didn’t know you meant it. He too, ripped open one of his snacks. “Calm down, Y/N. I was joking, I could buy Pocky’s whole stock and probably also buy my position up as CEO if I wanted to. I wouldn’t leech off of you, sugar.” readjusting his crooked, circular shades, he looked down at your now slack grip on the wrapper.      Unanswering, you’re grumbling instead. Under your breath, you’re curious as to how Gojo hasn’t realized how obnoxious he was, and how much longer could he survive without his head exploding from how big it was from his inflated ego?      Gojo grinned. He was all too aware of those things, but who really cared?      “Not unless you let your guard down!-” unable to finish the rest of his sentence, he yanked up the wrapper from your hands, using the extent of his long arm to dangle it high above your head. Your reflexes are far too slow to react, causing you to glare at him in a mixture of shock, hatred, and disbelief.      “Give-” you jump, arm reaching towards your snack, but he backs off, snickering and still dangling it above your head. “It-” now you’ve leapt up on the bench, grabbing at the wrapper to no avail. “Back!-” whimpering and flailing your arms out, every time you came close to retrieving your rightfully owned pack of Pocky, he’d simply throw it to his other hand so carelessly it pissed you off. All the while giggling, juggling it like a clown.      A breath of laughter escapes his lips as he looks at you, prancing around like a circus act on the bench, yelling curses and many death-wishes to his clan. Your eyebrows are knitted together, and he can’t just help but realize how adorable you were when concentrated in getting something- so stubborn.    “Okay, okay!” and as if Gojo had flipped a switch, you simmer down, looking at him with an impatient side-eye. “You want it, doggie?”     “Refer to me as doggie, and I’ll send a pack of strays to ravage you.”       Gojo exhaled out of his nose. “You’re a funny one, doggie.” did he just dismiss the conversation you two were having literally 2 seconds prior? “I’ll ask this again, do you want to get your treats back?” his eyes are glinting with amusement and child-like glee. You were almost sure that he had started calling your beloved Pocky as treats because of just how well it suited the nickname Doggie. It looked like you would be getting no where unless you paid no mind to him calling you such a.. Derogatory name.       Grumbling and studying the concrete you were currently trampling on, you exasperatedly sigh.       “Yes. I do want my Pocky back.” you grunt, averting your gaze to anywhere but Gojo’s shoes.       He perks up in approval, drawing out a long, “Hmmm?” as if he hadn’t expected you to give up so easily. “What are the magic words, Y/N?”       This was so humiliating.       “Please?” you politely say through gritted teeth. If it weren’t for the general public bustling about, you would’ve lunged for his unruly hair and tear it out of his scalp.       “Hah! You think I’m gonna do that sorta bullshit?” he crosses his arms, Pocky tucked safely under his arm. You wince, thinking about how the biscuits may potentially be snapped in half. Did you really want your snack still? It probably smelled like Gojo’s armpit sweat, death, and all the bad things in the world combined. “You’re gonna have to earn it, Y/N, in a game.”       Now convinced that Gojo was the manifestation of all the bad karma that you had avoided, you stare at him with wide eyes and fear, the irritation long gone. Games, no, scratch that, literally anything with Gojo only resulted in a small, or maybe large piece of your sanity torn away from you, lost to the infinite dark abyss. Maybe that’s why Geto seemed to slowly go insane everyday.       “On second thought, I’ll just go-”      He cuts you off, alarm now displayed on full view, his face contorting back to neutral. “Wait, no! It won’t be hard. Pinkie promise.” extending a pinkie towards you, you gently slap it away. The mood change was so instant, you were still shocked, that, and he was almost a legal adult and still believed in pinkie promises.      Still hesitant, you quirk an eyebrow, crossing your arms over your chest. “I’d rather spend another two dollars than play whatever game your planning, unless you tell me about it.”      “That’s a given, besides, it won’t take too long, Y/N. I think you’ll like it.” he replies cheerfully, leaning and whisper-yelling into your ear, fruitfully jolting you up. Seriously, did he have any idea what personal space was?      After just a few seconds of thinking, you roll your eyes in defeat. “Okay, what’s this game?”      His incredibly long fingers inserted themselves inside the crinkling wrapper, pulling out a slender stick. You’re almost sure your salivating, and subconsciously swallow the lump at the back of your throat. “Okay, rules of this game are... Hm, we both place our mouths at both ends of the stick. You get the pretzel part because that part sucks.” mischief flickers in his eyes briefly. “Whoever can get down the Pocky longest without being afraid of kissing and pulling back, loses and doesn’t get the Pocky. Whoever stays in their place wins. I’ll throw in some money, deal or no deal?”       “This doesn’t sound.. Fun.” you were still skeptical, but curiosity was blossoming rapidly inside of you. Could you really resist such an intriguing request? The guy was rich, and he did say he’d throw in some money. Gojo probably hated the thought of you, too. You could probably get up and close, get him to cower away from the thought of locking lips with you, and you’d be on your merry way.       “Um, actually, never mind. Let’s do this.” you chirp, the weariness had depleted completely. Besides, Gojo would pester you into doing it anyways, this would effectively save time. The expression on his face was indecipherable, silently wishing to yourself to see his eyes. You wonder if they’re wide open, in shock of your acceptance.       He gently placed the biscuit between your lips, his thumb brushing against it. Your breath hitches, now he’s up close. The shades adorning his handsome features, concealing those vivid blue eyes of his made your heart pace quicken in just seconds, maybe it was because he could see you- and you couldn’t. Your gaze shifts to the tufts of white hair hanging above his forehead. His bangs look lusciously soft, so soft you wonder what it’d be like to ruffle his unruly hair, what did it smell like? What conditioner did he use?     Your cheeks darken, but you hope he doesn’t notice it. This was what people thought of when they saw pretty people up close, it wasn’t like you had a thing for him, he was just attractive, that’s all.      “You look real stupid holding that stick between your teeth and looking at me.” he comments, charmingly smirking as you give him another death glare, unable to speak in fear of dropping the Pocky stick. You could count each individual hair strand he had on top of his head with the amount of time he was taking.      Chomp.     You take the first bite, and you can’t help but realize how much your heart is fluttering about in your chest. Eyelashes fluttering, nerves getting jittery, the exchange was strangely intimate. No kidding, of course it was- if the two of you were adamant and continued to chomp on the stick, it would only end in a kiss. There was no way around it.      He takes a bite too, his lips look curved in a dopey smile, but there’s not a single word traded between the two of you, just tiny, slight nibbles. It would be eons until someone finished, and you were growing impatient by the minute. Quicken the pace. Quicken the fucking pace.     So you did the unthinkable, you quickened the pace.     Taking a large bite, he pauses for a minute- as if to think, before taking an even larger bite. Now, 2/3′s of the original stick is gone. One more large bite, and a kiss would follow suit. Now, you’re sweating bullets, eyes bouncing from him, back down to the microscopic sized Pocky. His lips are so, so close. Soft, plush pink, so glossy you’re inclined to ask what brand of lip gloss he uses. You can hear his breathing grow heavier, why wasn’t he giving up?      The two of you don’t take a single bite, plainly avoiding the objective, the world around you had evaporated into thin air. It’s you, and Gojo Satoru.      You nibbled a little bit more, and then you make up your mind. You’re going to kiss-       Growing chatter grew closer to closer, and you realize Shoko’s monotone and Geto’s lively voice, alongside a very disgruntled Yaga.       “Yeah, she’s pretty hot. I actually liked the movie- Uh...?” the steady rhythm stopped against the concrete. Immediately, you straighten and clear your throat, spitting out the Pocky stick into the nearby grass. Gojo follows suit, shoving his hands deep into his pockets and twirling around. “Oh hey, Geto!-”       “Are we interrupting something? Something.. Important?” Shoko quizzes, struggling to stifle her giggling. A sheepish smile was displayed widely on your face for the world to see, hands behind your back like you were hiding something. Gojo, on the other hand, is facing the other direction, whistling and staring at the now setting sky.       You stutter, cheeks growing even darker. Yaga looks as disgruntled as ever, facepalming and murmuring to himself. Geto looks ecstatic.        “MY MAN!” he beams. “WERE YOU GOING TO-”       “SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” Shoko shushes him in response, turning her head back to the two of you. You looked like you had just seen a ghost. “We thought you hated Gojo, we’re just...” her head is cocked slightly, an understanding expression on her features. “Just surprised, is all.”       Spluttering, you try to explain yourself- but no sound comes out. Your mouth is opening and closing, struggling to find the words.       “I do hate him... I just... He.. Pocky.. He uh...”       “Sheeeeeeeesh! Poor Y/N over here is going through some shock right now!” Gojo muses aloud, he places an arm around your shoulders, pulling you in under his arm. There’s a small, coy grin on his lips. As if he didn’t try kissing you 1 minute ago. “Just ignore them, anyways, what are we having for dinner tonight? I heard there’s a really good KBBQ place down the street that just opened..”      As much as you hate Gojo, his ability to escape anything did come in handy.    Well, maybe you didn’t hate him as much as you were leading on.     You’d go as far as to say.. Maybe you enjoyed some parts of him.

Chapter 6: A Jedi
Warnings: traumaaaa, lots of anxiety, like lots of anxiety, the reader really hates herself in this one, minor minor violence, references to violence, mostly just anxiety and hate.
Author’s Note: This is where the series starts to pick up, so I executed it as best as I could! I also went a little off canon with this one, so I hope it makes sense with the story. Thank you for any support!
Tumblr media
Your journey to Sorgan was pretty smooth… but Mando was tense.
You tried your best to reassure him multiple times that this was the best choice for the kid and that you could help him with any challenge thrown at him, but he would just respond with a sigh and a solemn nod. So, you decided not to push it.
He had done even riskier missions on his own, so he can handle this one.
Once you arrived, you walked into the common house and met a woman named Cara Dune.
She introduced herself to you and she seemed very friendly, but when Mando mentioned that she was an ex shock trooper for the Republic, that is when you tensed up.
You had done things in your past that you knew would offend her. Not even offend her, but provoke her to strangle you alive. The fact that she was from Alderaan made it obvious enough that the Empire had hurt her deeply.
The only way to protect yourself was to hide who you really were, and your heart sank.
You felt like you had finally broken away from that way of life. The hiding, the anxiety, the fear. You felt like you could be yourself with Mando and the kid and not have to worry about that anymore. But the galaxy was cruel like that.
After the brief introduction, Mando proceeded to outline the plan and everything that the man on the recording (who you later found out to go by the name Greef Karga) had said, and Cara looked far from impressed.
“I don’t know, I’ve been advised to lay low,” she said, “If anyone identifies me, I’ll rot in a cell for the rest of my life.”
That makes two of us, you think.
“I thought you were a veteran,” Mando mumbled.
“I’ve been a lot of things,” Cara replied. “If I so much as book a passage on a ship registered to the New Republic-”
“I have a ship,” Mando replied, “I can bring you there and back with a handsome reward. You can live free of worry.”
“I’m already free of worry,” she said, “and I’m not in the mood to play soldier anymore. Especially fighting a local warlord.”
“He’s not a local warlord,” Mando replied, “He’s Imperial.”
You could see how Cara visibly tensed up at the word “Imperial.” If you weren’t scared of her before, you sure as hell were now.
“I’m in,” she responded, and you smiled at her.
She grinned back to you and asked, “Where do you fit in in this plan?”
You looked at the child in your arms and said, “My job is to keep the child safe. So I will protect him until he is used as the bait, and I will adapt to where he goes from there.”
“She can defend herself plenty,” Mando says, and Cara nods at you.
“I believe you,” she says, and you give her another smile.
I really hope I don’t let her down, you think.
~~*~~
Within the next hour, the four of you had arrived back at the Razor Crest.
Mando started the ship on track to Nevarro while Cara took a look at the weapon arsenal.
You watched as her eyes scanned over the array of options, and you couldn’t help but feel deep sorrow for her.
Her life was torn apart by the Empire, and now she was getting thrown right back into a fight. The fact that she wasn’t even going to join the mission before Mando mentioned that the client was Imperial made you nervous. She was not a woman you wanted to mess with, so you hoped and prayed you would stay on her good side.
The kid had somehow managed to make it to the controls and grab hold of the throttle, which made the ship veer abruptly side to side.
You ran to the child and lifted him away from the throttle while Mando stabilized the ship.
“Are you sure one set of hands is enough to watch that little beast? Worst case scenario, we made need y/n to fight with us. Maybe an extra set of hands could help,” Cara said, trying to catch her breath from running all around the ship.
Mando looked back at you and you nodded.
“She’s right. I can watch the kid as long as you need, but if you guys need me in a fight I can’t keep him with me. He could get hurt.”
Mando nodded and sat back down in the pilot’s chair.
“Looks like we are making a pit stop,” he said.
~~*~~
The Razor Crest landed on the property of a man named Kuiil. Mando said that he had helped him greatly in the past and he trusted him, and if Mando trusted somebody, you did too.
He greeted you with open arms and was incredibly nice. He led the four of you inside his humble home, and you never realized how long it had been since you stayed in an actual home.
Kuiil studied the child in your arms and said, “it hasn’t grown much.”
“What is your name,” he asked you.
“I am y/n. It is nice to meet you Kuiil,” you said and he nodded reverently to you.
“What about this one? Does she have a name,” he said, gesturing to Cara.
“This is Cara. She was a shock trooper,” Mando said.
“You were a dropper,” Kuiil said, and Cara nodded.
“Did you serve,” she asked.
“On the other side, I’m afraid. But I’m proud to say that I paid out my clan’s debt, and now I serve no one but myself,” Kuiil said.
The other side, you think. Kuiil served the Empire? And Mando had worked with him before?
You couldn’t deny the fact that this got your hopes up. Mando… working with the enemy.
If only he knew, you thought.
All of a sudden, the door behind Kuiil opened, and an IG droid stepped inside with a tray in his hands.
Mando immediately sprang to his feet and pointed his blaster at the droid. Cara joined him, and you blocked the pram the child was in with your whole body.
“Would anyone care for some tea,” the droid asked, and your eyebrows knit in confusion.
Weren’t these droids normally hunters?
“Please, lower your blasters. He will not harm you,” Kuiil said, obviously trying to diffuse the situation.
Mando, however, didn’t seem to want to go that route.
He kept his blaster pointed directly at the droid’s head and said, “That thing is programmed to kill the baby.”
You straightened your back at his words, blocking as much of the pram as you could, until Kuiil shook his head and said, “Not anymore.”
He then explained how he found the droid at a battle site and brought it back to his workshop. He decided to repair it, and then spent many days teaching the droid everything from scratch. It developed a personality, Kuiil mentioned, and it’s experiences helped the personality become unique to the droid.
“Is it still a hunter,” Mando asked.
“No, but it will protect,” he said, and Mando finally lowered his blaster.
There was no way Mando was going to let that robot anywhere near the child.
~~*~~
Later that night, you and Cara were sitting in Kuiil’s house while Mando was outside speaking with him, no doubt trying to convince him to protect the child.
“So what’s your story,” Cara asked, taking a sip of tea.
“Oh.. well… Mando picked me up on Tattooine. I worked there as a mechanic for a woman named Peli. It was a good job, but I wanted to get off that planet. I had lived there for a long time, and I wanted to explore the galaxy for once. It sounds cheesy, but I’ve always wanted to do that at some point. Mando agreed to take me with him on his missions in exchange for the child’s safety,” you say, and Cara nods.
“Nice. You made a living for yourself, and were brave enough to walk away when you knew the time was right. Most people never leave their home planet,” she says, and you nod.
“Yeah… I tried my best,” you say, and you try not to let your eyes darken. You didn’t like talking about your past. All it did was stir up old memories that you had worked to push down for years. You hated your past, and you didn’t know how well you could hide it much longer. Especially when you were being questioned by someone like Cara.
“The Empire… hurt me a lot. So, I am excited to hurt it back,” you say, and a big grin shows on Cara’s face.
She takes another sip of her tea, and looks up to find Mando walking through the door.
“Any luck,” she says to him, and he shakes his head no.
“Kuiil said that the droid can protect the child, but I don’t trust it,” he says and Cara chuckles.
“Yeah.. I think we got that,” Cara says and you smile.
Mando goes to sit down next to Cara, so she scoots over a bit to make some room for him.
You heard something hit the floor, and you realize Cara had knocked over your bag on accident. You had brought it into Kuiil’s house because you used it to store snacks for the child.
You stored other things in there too, and under no circumstance was anyone allowed to see them.
That was going pretty well, until Cara knocked the entire thing over.
“Whoops. Sorry,” she says and goes to start putting the items back in.
Your body is frozen in place and you feel like your lungs are being squeezed. Your limbs have turned to putty, and you cannot take your eyes off her hands.
If she sees it, I and dead. I am so dead
“It’s- It’s ok Cara. I’ve got it,” you say and start to stand up.
“No no it’s ok, I can-” she says, before her eyes widen.
She picks up an item and starts raising it to eye level, and you are just about ready to vomit.
Your saber.
You feel like your entire body is crumbling before her and she can’t even tell. Your breathing has become almost erratic and the sweat on your forehead starts to drip down to your eyes.
This whole experience, this whole journey with Mando and the kid could be completely undone right now. Everything you have hidden, everything you’ve buried, and everything you hoped you left behind on sandy Tattooine is staring you right in the face.
And Cara is….smiling?
“No way,” she yells excitedly, before laughing and smiling at you.
“No wonder you were so secretive about your past! You’re a Jedi,” she says.
You take a glance at Mando, who is staring at the saber, looking confused as ever.
Ok, maybe this is good, you think to yourself, trying to relax.
I can pretend I was a Jedi. Sure. I have basically the same training as them.
But who were you kidding. You knew that wasn’t going to cut it.
“A Jedi?” Mando says, and Cara goes into a whole tangent about how amazing the Jedi were. How they fought the Empire till their dying breaths and defended the galaxy. They had been betrayed by their own clone groups, and most of them died in Order 66.
“But you didn’t!” she said and smiled at you.
You managed a smile back, but you had to have looked like a psycho. You were in so much physical and emotional pain from the amount of anxiety flowing through you. You had felt out of control before, but this was more dangerous than you knew.
You were such an idiot getting your hopes up. Thinking that a Mandalorian actually cared for someone like you. How could you have been so stupid.
“Even the colors of the sabers are legendary,” Cara said. “Aren’t they y/n?”
You nod back, but you know what’s coming.
Your truth was about to shine throughout the entire house, reflecting back at you like some sick joke. And you were screwed. You were so screwed.
“Well, let’s see it then,” Cara said and ignited the saber with both hands wrapped around the handle.
“Wait” you scream, but it was too late.
The tears hit your eyes before she even ignited the weapon.
The deep, burning red saber was ignited, and there was no going back.
It’s burning, fire like glow illuminated Cara’s face, and a sunset like tint was shining on Mando’s armor.
He always looked so beautiful when light would reflect off of him, but not like this.
The red from the saber was vibrant, but you had never seen a glow as red as the anger in Cara’s eyes.
She knew what this color meant, and your identity was revealed in all its glory.

“Let’s head to our room, baby,” he whispers, pulling back from the hug and grabbing my hand to lead me that way.
Two little lines that change everything. It's positive.
My eyes immediately fill with tears, overflowing and hot as they run down my cheeks. My eyes move from the test to trail up to Matt's face. His eyes are wide as they stare at the result in shock, but I watch as a smile overtakes his face, his eyes moving from the test to my face as he beems at me.
"Baby! We're having a baby!" he cheers, dropping the test as he scoops me up in his arms, twirling me around. Despite the fear and anxiety I feel, I find myself smiling and laughing at his excitement. After a moment of us both giggling as he joyfully swung me around, he sets me back on my feet gently, his hands coming up to cup my cheeks and brush my tears away with his thumbs.
"I know this isn't how we expected this to happen, or even when we expected it, but I swear to you that I'm all in. One hundred percent. I'll be with you every step of the way. Every day, every appointment, every late night and early morning, I'm here and I'm always going to be here. I love you so much, sweetheart, and I love our little us just as much already," he tells me softly but devotedly. He means every word with his heart and soul, but I never had any doubts about him to begin with.
"I know, Matty. I love you too." I whisper to him, my voice breaking as tears start falling again.
"I know, I know this is sudden and scary and it's going to be a big life change for us, but we have each other always. I know you will be the best mom to our baby. I am so lucky to have you, and to be doing this with you. You don't have to be scared, I'm right here with you," he says, leaving a soft kiss on the top of my head as he pulls me into his arms, holding me so gently against him.
It's all suddenly so real. I'm having a baby with the love of my life, the best and most kindhearted man I've ever known. I pull Matt even closer to me, cupping his face and pulling his lips against mine for a sweet kiss, soft and full of all the love we have for each other and this new little life we will have.
We slowly pull away from each other, soft smiles painting both of our faces when we suddenly hear a loud thud from the hallway. Matt raises an eyebrow and walks towards our closed bedroom door, and I follow. Matt opens the door to find both of his brothers laying on the floor outside of his door, all tangled up in a heap, Chris on top of Nick who is caught in the middle of cursing Chris out as soon as the door opened.
"God damn it Chris, the one fucking time you really need to be careful you fucking flop on me like a goddamn elephant you stupid— oh, ha ha, hi there matthew," Nick says, voice quieting even more and looking sheepish at being caught eavesdropping. I stiffle a laugh at the two of them laying on the floor, as I look up to see Matt looking at his brothers with an irritated look but some fondness still in his eyes.
Chris, however, has no shame in being the clumsy one to get them caught, and instead quickly rises to his feet and grabs Matt in a bear hug, despite Matt stiffening up and turning to look at me with a loof as if asking for help. I stiffle a laugh and shake my head at the antics of the soon to be uncles.
"You're going to be a dad! Can we start buying cute baby shit now?!" Chris asks us both excitedly, still squeezing Matt in his arms. I smile and nod as I move to join in on the hug, Nick following to join in too. We already have such a good little family here, and I feel overwhelmed with happiness and excitement in adding to it.

Yandere! Itachi X Reader Headcannons
The reader is precieved as a normal civilization rather than a ninja.
ALSO I learned how to do the "read more" thing on my phone and now I'm happy uvu- and to any friends that read this, I'm so sorry but I've never been so dedicated to a fandom in a long time lol. I might make a oneshot later for this, too, and I do, you should see a link under this paragraph somewhere.
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🖤 Itachi is a mature and collected person, so I'd think it'd be unlikely for him to just grow obsessed at once. Itachi would have to come across Y/N many times before releasing he's in love.
🖤 The way he'd meet Y/N would be when he'd be scouting an area for a particular enemy. He'd happen to come across her, who interacted with him a little but nothing interesting happened. Overtime, the two would see each other here and there, until eventually everyday.
🖤 When his enemy he was looking for had been eliminated, he said his goodbyes to Y/N before leaving. He expected to move on, but his mind would wonder back to her no matter how hard he tried.
🖤 Eventually, Itachi would see Y/N whenever he had free time. He'd make room in his day to spend hours together; they'd go out to eat, participate in festivals, talk, and more.
🖤 On Y/N's side, it didn't take long before she started to feel romantic interest. Afterall, Itachi was calm, collected, smart, strong, fun to be around, and seemed genuinely interested in her. She was definitely in love before he was.
🖤 Around the time Itachi would visit the Leaf Village to find Naruto, he strangely started to worry a lot about Y/N learning about who he was and fear him. He couldn't help but want to shield her from the truth, and if the people around them learned that the man Y/N was with was wanted, it would end bad for them.
🖤 Itachi was inevitably worrying a little too much about the possibility of her finding out. He went to see her and did his best to distract her from any gossip or drama whatsoever to ensure she'd never hear about the Akatsuki. His time spent with her increased from a few hours to half the day.
🖤 Itachi wouldn't ever want to kidnap or drag people into his life. He hates killing, he hates being "evil", he hates everything about his dark lifestyle. The decision to either abandon someone he began to care for or to take her away was a very hard one.
🖤 Itachi realized something in the process of thinking of a solution. He loved Y/N; he loved her to the point where the thought of her hating or fearing him scared him so badly. Even with Sasuke, the thought of him having him was terrifying but something he could live with.
🖤 It was releasing to learn about his own true feelings. He was desperately in love with Y/N, to the point where she was like air, or food, or water. Like in order to live, she had to be around.
🖤 As word spread about two strange people walking around Konoha and that Orochimaru took the last Uchiha, it was inevitable that Y/N would learn about the info. The next time she saw Itachi, she brought it up to him and expressed her discomfort in the fact that she could be among evil people.
🖤 He was scared. So scared that she would hate him for his lifestyle after finding out about who he really is. So that was it; his mind was made. He took Y/N away that night.
🖤 When word about the Akatsuki in Konoha, he received a lot more looks when he was in public than normal. He'd usually have a normal kimono on and have his hair in a different, though similar, style in order to appear normal. But he knew deep down in his heart that people are bound to start suspecting him of being an Akatsuki. And overhearing someone talk about an S class Uchiha member is what did it.
🖤 "You've been asking about where I live for a whole now. Would you like see my home?" Itachi asked. Y/N happily agreed to go, and sorta expected his home to be outside of her village. But the further she traveled, she grew a bit nervous and wanted to return home (as you would if you were led outside of your village into deep woods)
🖤 Itachi wasn't escorting Y/N alone. Of course, the Akatsuki is bound to learn about that girl Itachi insisted on bringing up in most of his little amounts of conversations. It was obvious he was obsessed with her, as much as he would try to hid it, but he just couldn't get her off his mind. So the night where he choose to bring her home, Kisame was watching the two frkm afar in case something happened.
🖤 Before that day, Itachi had mentioned that he wanted to protect Y/N. Over the three months Itachi spent with Y/N, he had plenty of time to talk about her enough to where the other members basically knew her.
🖤 Itachi actually got a few of the members (ex. Kisame, Deidara) were interested in Y/N as well. How could someone as "heartless" as Itachi Uchiha fall in love, and in such a dramatic way at that? They were sorta curious to see what was so special about her.
🖤 Anyway, you can imagine how Itachi convinced Y/N to go far enough into the woods to go to a small little cottage. Was it part of the Akatsuki hideout? No. Itachi would never trust the Akatsuki members with Y/N alone, and she needs her freedom to walk around a house.
🖤 The inside was sorta minimalistic, but not completely empty. To the far right was a kitchen was a small dining table with two chairs, and on the opposite side was two rooms. In one room was a single bed with a closet in it, and in the other room was a bathroom. Between the kitchen and two rooms was a small living room with a couch, coffee table, and more. There were bored games in a little dresser in the living room, along with a full bookshelf with books of all genres.
🖤 "Care for dinner?" Itachi had asked. He wanted to tell Y/N why she's there over a dinner he made and had prepared in advance. It turns out he was amazing at cooking.
🖤 It wasn't very easy, but Itachi managed to explain his feelings towards Y/N. Of course, Y/N happily excepted and was quick to hug and express her feelings towards him. He returned the hug and spoke about how he loved her very much, however he had so much more to say to her.
🖤 Justifyingly so, Y/N was frozen in shock when Itachi told his story. He killed everyone in his clan aside from his brother, the well-known Uchiha. How he fled his clan after committing the murders and joined an infamous group; The Akatsuki.
🖤 While displaying himself as calm, he was so overwhelmed and scared within his mind. He knew he'd have to tell her why she's staying at the house and why, from now one, she'll never leave. But he was smart enough to know she wouldn't simply except living here out of love. He would have to be a bit manipulative to keep Y/N.
🖤 Y/N was mortified and didn't notice the tears pouring out of her eyes. She fell desperately in love with a murderer. She felt so sick, so scared. She stood up, begging to go home so desperately, trembling over her own words. She was so scared for her life now, and what Itachi's intentions were. Truly, Itachi's heart broke at this.
🖤 "Y/N, darling," Itachi spoke, his words laced with love as she softly grabbed Y/N wrists and leaned close. "I had to take you away. I couldn't let them take you from me."
🖤 He was very delicate with Y/N as he calmed her down, as if she was glass. His heart ached at her pain, but he truly believed it was for the best. In a way it really was; people saw Y/N with the tall raven boy many times in public, and her parents and friends had met him too. Once they find out that boy is the Itachi, Y/N could be killed if they think she was aiding him.
🖤 Itachi did his best to show her around and make her feel comfortable. But no matter what he did, Y/N felt so broken, so empty, so confused. There's no way that sweet Itachi she loves is a killer. He has to be lying.
🖤 Over the course of a few days, Y/N learned to except the fact she's held at that small home. She tried to think on the good side; she could decorate it how she wants, has more freetime, can focus on her hobbies and learn to cook new things, and more! Even if she's never allowed to leave the house, Itachi let's her do basically anything around the home.
🖤 Y/N still loves him. As months go by of being alone for a few days without Itachi, some days with him for a little bit, and some full days with him, she still couldn't help but appreciate him just as much as before. No, she appreciates him more even. She just can't help but love him, and he loves her too.
🖤 Itachi felt much more relaxed around Y/N and tried to spend every second he could with her. He was so shameful of keeping her from her home, but it was for the best wasn't it?
🖤 Most of Itachi's emotions about keeping her was all because he lived her and never wanted to see her with anyone else. But he had always found an excuse as to why it's for the best that she's never with anyone else.
🖤 Kisame had met Y/N a few times. She was never comfortable with him however and was typically holding onto Itachi's sleeve, or leaning on him when he's around. However Kisame would be around when Itachi wasn't sometimes to keep watch.
🖤 As long as Itachi or Kisame was present, Y/N is allowed to go outside and visit close villages other than the one Y/N is from. She would be allowed to buy anything she wanted and could afford from these places, but she had to go home eventually.
🖤 At the end of the day, Y/N had quite a lot of freedom and eventually, she was happy. She was happy to be living with Itachi and was perfectly happy calling him her husband.
🖤 Itachi never wanted a marriage though. He was going blind and he planned to be murdered by his brother and he never dared to make her a young widow. When Izumi had died, he felt so distraught and he knew Y/N is bound to feel the same, but even worse if they got married.
🖤 When Itachi died, as said, Y/N was distraught. No, she was mortified. Absolutely mortified. Even if she was free, she had lost the last person she had a connection with. And she carried that sorrow to her grave.
How would Sasuke,Obito,Pein,itachi and Orochimaru react to the s/o getting transported into their world?
(I love your blog btw❤️)
Why is this such a ridiculously popular thing🤣? And also🥺, love you too❣️
Tw: Yandere themes, possessiveness, possessiveness, vicious behavior, kidnapping, torturing, delusional thoughts
s/o being transported into their world
Orochimaru
Tumblr media
🐍Orochimaru would be totally fascinated in his most unnerving way possible when finding this out. It is, I’m not kidding, the reason why he became so obsessed with his darling in the first place.
🐍I feel like he heard most likely rumors about a human who told some weird stories about being from another world, being called a crazy. But Orochimaru as someone who searches for the mysteries of this world would be totally onto finding more out about you, wanting to know if these stories were true or not. And he has access to ways to find out whether you’re lying or not, not even to mention that he’s rather good in judging if someone is honest.
🐍Absolutely the type to want to do a lot of examinations onto you, curious about whether your body and biology is any different than from the people in here. Be lucky that you’re the only transported human, Orochimaru will have to look out that he doesn’t accidentally kills you because he needs you and your body alive. Or else he won’t be able to study you further. Depending on whether your body is able to produce chakra or not I think he would also want to start training you, curious about if your body handles perhaps the chakra different and if you would like this probably be able to have a new chakra ability or other possibilities with your chakra.
🐍Would be even more obsessed the moment he found out that you know the future, absolutely forcing you into telling him. And if you don’t he would use some mind jutsus on you. The only way he wouldn’t find out is if he finds out that those memories are blocked, suspecting that it might be due to that some force doesn’t allow him to look into the future, especially his. But it seems like you are able to remember everything and also able to give some subtle hints and signs from which he might be able to guess what might happen, another reason to keep you. It’s better to join him willingly, it’ll give you a bit more freedom and won’t make you to his personal favorite test subject. Even if you would join willingly, he would still demand a few closer examinations from time to time. But at least then you’re free to walk around the hideouts freely.
🐍I do guess Orochimaru would, after finding out that other worlds exist, start experimenting on some sort of transportation jutsu. Are there next to your world also other universes? He wants to know everything. And also, please tell him a bit more about your world. It seems so interesting. If you have your phone with you, expect him to constantly observe and study it, absolutely thrilled by your “technology”. Better pray that he’ll never find a way into your world or a lot of people will end up as test objects. And with these people he won’t be as “friendly” as with you.
Pain
Tumblr media
🌧That man here had to endure a lot of terrible things in his life, making him somewhat unaffected by whatever this world might throw at him. Or other worlds. So I guess besides a slight surprise and mild curiosity he wouldn’t give it too much thought. As long as you don’t possess any kind of threat.
🌧I think he met you because you were directly transported into Amegakure, Pain sensing the new intruder next to this weird kind of energy that was suddenly shooting through the sky, causing uneasiness by the villagers and leading Pain to personally looking after what had caused all this commotion. And whilst at first not quite sure whether he should believe you or not, that was after you had calmed down from your heart attack upon seeing him, after looking into your memories and seeing otherworldly things and his whole past, apparently enjoyed as a “TV show” he believed you.
🌧He kidnapped you for two rather simple reasons. The first one was because you possessed a kind of threat to the villagers. Your arrival had planted already enough fear in their hearts by the weird energy that had suddenly be in the air. If they would also find out that you were from another world, Pain could only guess what would happen. The second reason was a bit more nice. Because he was worried for you. You could be called a newborn in this world and whilst he did get that you knew more than anyone else, you didn’t possess any chakra nor fighting skills, Pain fearing that you might not be able to survive for too long.
🌧Pain wouldn’t force you into telling him what’s about to happen. I guess since he already looked into your memories, he probably even already knows that certain memories are kind of locked for him, giving him a clear sign that whatever force sent you here, it doesn’t think that he or others have the right to know their future and Pain respects that. His overprotectiveness will most likely increase due to you knowing little to nothing about defending yourself. And whatever almighty power might have brought you here, Pain will ensure that you stay with him. It is selfish and he knows that you don’t belong into his world, but besides probably feeling the slightest bit bad for you, he wouldn’t care that much in the end as long as he can keep you.
🌧Whilst Pein isn’t pushy with knowing the future he does however display a certain curiosity for your world in general. But honestly, he wouldn’t be surprised when you admit that your world has it’s own problems, in a way he might even be disappointed and yet also having expected that. Humans really are all the same, no matter the universe. Can’t help, but feel that if he would find a way into your world, he might just play god in your world as well to fix a few things.
Obito Uchiha
Tumblr media
🔥A already delusional man will lose all his shit the moment he finds out about you, someone from another world. Obito isn’t someone for worshipping or this kind of thing, but he would lie if he didn’t think at first that you were an angel sent by Rin to watch over him.
🔥He met you the moment you were transported into this world, meaning he saw it, how there was suddenly this light in the sky. And all of a sudden you fell out of it, unconscious. If it wouldn’t have been for Obito you would have ended like a pancake. Can you really blame this man for thinking at first that you were an angel from heaven after what he had just seen?
🔥No wonder he kidnapped you directly after, instantly thinking since you had appeared right before his eyes that you had been sent for him. He was in the firm belief that you were sent from Rin and even after trying to explain to him that you weren’t an angel (you were anything, but that), but a human from another world, he never fully snapped out of this belief that you were sent by Rin. The facts reminded for him that you had been sent into his world and that right in front of his eyes. That was all he wanted to know, giving him the mindset that Rin had picked you because you knew his past and motives and for that would understand and accept him better than anyone else.
🔥Let’s increase this man’s already terrible paranoia and overprotectiveness even more due to the fact that you’re from another world. Obito is be absolutely horrified about what would happen if someone finds out about you and from where you are, leading him naturally to isolating and locking you somewhere “safe” away. His clingyness might also increase for a rather weird reason. You have been robbed your normal life after all and are for sure sad about this, leading Obito to try to comfort you by being all smothering, partially also because he wants to make you get used to him and comfortable around him. And that guy honestly doesn’t care that much about his future you know and everything else. Pretty much everything that matters to him is your well-being and that you’re “safe”.
🔥There’s no way in hell Obito would ever let any kind of almighty power separate you from him or else he’ll make the sky burn. He sees you as someone he has to protect, he has to keep safe, no matter the costs. I think from everyone here, after Orochimaru, Obito would show the most interest for your world. It’s better to keep him out of your world as well, simply because Obito’s paranoia will lead to huge troubles. Not only that, but he would dislike all of your close ones, his possessiveness and delusions making him think that they just want to take you away from him.
Itachi Uchiha
Tumblr media
🍡From all the people here Itachi would have the most normal reaction, next to Pein’s. He would be a bit surprised, never having thought that much about whether other world’s like yours exist. But he wouldn’t label you as weak or an angel or just see you as a thing he has to examine. He would treat you like a normal human being.
🍡Itachi found you one day just like Obito found his darling. He witnessed how you were thrown into his world, but different from his older clan member you were still conscious, completely confused as well as scared, no wonder after what had just happened. And despite being a criminal, Itachi showed still concern, asking you if you were alright and what had just happened to you. Whilst at first thinking that you were shocked to see him because he was S-ranked, he shortly after found out that it was for the simple reason because you hadn’t expected him to be real. I feel like with Itachi you would be able to have the most normal talk, if you have your phone probably even showing him proof that you are from another world, not to mention the secrets you know about him, leading him to believing you.
🍡So when Itachi offered you to bring you somewhere safe under, it was at that time a friendly gesture to help you, you most likely agreed to this at first, thankful for every help you could get. For Itachi it takes time to form an obsession and at first he most likely only cared for you as a friend or sibling, overprotective over you because you were a world traveler. If there’s a way that you can use your chakra in this world he would most likely start training you so you can defend yourself, at least the basics you should know.
🍡And this would lead to Itachi feeling bad the moment he falls so hard for you, feeling like he’s betraying your trust by doing so since you most likely trust him. Whilst at first keeping quiet about it and trying to keep it a secret, at one point Itachi will admit it to you, ready to endure whatever you might just throw at him now. And from all people here he would never think about asking about his or other people’s future, respecting that this doesn’t have to interest him in any means. What will happen will happen.
🍡If it comes to the point you finding a way to transport back, he would start feeling conflicted. He knows you don’t belong in here and also knows that you miss your family and friends, making him want to send you back where you belong to. But on the other hand he got now attached to you, his darker thoughts wanting to keep you. I guess in the end he might be amazing enough to really let you go, it isn’t like he won’t be heartbroken over it for the rest of his life. But that’s where your place is after all.
Sasuke Uchiha
Tumblr media
💙At first Sasuke would honestly not care that much, not being that greatly affected when finding out about you and where you’re coming from. But the moment you start becoming useful for him and he knows that you know in a way the whole future you would become very interesting to him.
💙Let’s go back to Orochimaru, shall we? Because that man most likely found you first, using you as a test subject whilst also trying to find a way to unlock your memories, wanting to know what would happen in the future and how he could prevent more unpleasant events in the future. And that’s how Sasuke met you, Orochimaru introducing you to him and telling him everything about you and your mysterious arrival in this world. And you most likely weren’t even surprised, knowing that he would arrive in here.
💙Due to the fact that you two are about the same age (because Sasuke would have a bit of an easier time to get along with someone who is his age) Orochimaru would most likely let you two often spend time together, probably also because he hopes you can help Sasuke inventing some new techniques since you know a lot. I surprisingly think that at the beginning Sasuke was awkward around you due to the fact that you knew everything about him, past and future all seen by you.
💙But that also means you know everything about his brother, leading Sasuke to often questioning you about him. Will he beat him? Where is Itachi now? When will he be able to fight against him? Sasuke is someone who would try to use his Sharingan to get you to tell him, but in the end would find out that Orochimaru seemed to be right. He can’t look into the future and also can’t force you to tell him. But you would still prove to be very helpful, knowing everything about the enemies he will face in the future and their powers, not to mention that you’re very creative and often help him creating new jutsus. So it’s no wonder he took you after having killed Orochimaru, a bit impressed since you weren’t impressed in the least bit.
💙Sasuke wouldn’t be all that interested in your world, not caring about what happened in there or how life in there is. He pretty much only cares about you and that you stay with him. And different from his dear brother he won’t be all that nice when it comes to letting you go.
Hey there, dear anon! Thank you for your request. As you probably know, this was my first time writing for Ayaka, so I really hope it turned out alright. Anyways, here's your drink: a tall iced tea with hazelnut syrup and whipped cream on top. Please enjoy!
All I needed was the love you gave – Kamisato Ayaka x gn!reader
Growing up in isolation, only surrounded by the members of her clan and the countless rules of courtesy she had to learn by heart, had never been easy for Ayaka. The Kamisato Clan was one of the most prestigious families in Inazuma, and while she was proud to be a part of it, she couldn’t deny that she sometimes wished for a more ordinary life. A childhood filled with laughter and meetings with friends instead of lessons about history, etiquette and conversations to turn her into the well-spoken, elegant young lady she was today.
Maybe that was the reason why Ayaka enjoyed being around you so much. With you, she always felt completely carefree and relaxed, almost as if your mere presence was enough to make her forget everything that bothered her. Aside from Thoma, you were her only friend, the only one she could rely on, no matter what happened, the one she could trust without having to worry that you’d tell her secrets to someone else.
She knew that she got overly attached to people way too quickly because of her upbringing and often times scared them away with her behavior but with you, none of this mattered. Things were different. Over all these years, you had gotten so close to each other that you were familiar with all her little quirks, and she was absolutely sure that you’d always be by her side. A few years ago, you had even promised her to stay with her through thick and thin. It still brought a smile to her face when she thought about it, making her heart beat faster every time.
It had taken her some time to realize that her feelings for you had changed, that she had started to see you as more than just a friend but, in the end, all that mattered was that it had happened. And she was absolutely sure that you shared her feelings, although neither of you had confessed yet.
But maybe today would be the day. Just by the way you looked at her, your pretty eyes filled with insecurity, she could tell that there was something you wanted to say. She smiled at you and reached out to gently squeeze your hand in a reassuring manner. You gazed back at her but when you tried to return her smile, you failed.
“Is there something bothering you?” Ayaka asked softly and when you didn’t reply, she added, “You can tell me everything, you know that, right? Besides, this day is way too beautiful to worry, don’t you think so?”
It was a beautiful day, indeed. The sun warmed your skin, the sweet scent of the Sakura trees’ blossoms surrounding you as you enjoyed the rare moments of free time. Ayaka had joined you a while ago to keep you company, just as she would normally, but today, you actually wished that she’d be somewhere else. It was hard to focus on your decision when she was sitting so close to you, beaming at you like you were the most precious thing in all of Teyvat. How could you tell her that you knew about her feelings for you and didn’t feel the same? It was nerve-wracking and you had no idea if you were really ready to break her heart but at the same time, you knew that it wasn’t fair to lead her on.
“I’m fine,” you replied eventually, although you were sure that your lie wouldn’t convince her at all. “Really,” you reassured her when she raised her eyebrows, giving you a questioning look, “you don’t need to worry about me.”
Ayaka shook her head and reached out for your hand once again, frowning slightly when you pulled away. “Sorry,” you said. “It’s just… listen, I don’t think I can do this anymore.”
“Do what?” Gone was the genuine smile on her lips that was exclusively reserved for you. “I – I don’t understand.”
You laughed, a nervous, artificial laugh that could turn into crying if you weren’t careful. “I’m sorry,” you said quietly. “This isn’t the right moment, I never meant to tell you like that.”
The expression on her face turned soft, almost tender, the confusion slowly fading from her gaze. “Tell me what?”
You could her the anticipation in her voice and suddenly, you realized that she expected you to say quite the opposite of what was actually on your mind. You gulped. All of this didn’t make it easier for you to finally tell her the truth but you really couldn’t live like this any longer. She deserved to know how you felt about her, even if it meant that you had no other choice but breaking her heart. Eventually, she would surely find someone who loved her the way she deserved – at least, that was what you tried to tell yourself.
“I know that you love me,” you said, carefully choosing the words that came out of your mouth. “I’ve known It for quite some time now but I never knew how to address it.”
“Oh.” Ayaka watched you biting your lower lip, her heart beating so fast and loud that she was sure you were able to hear it. Was this the moment she had been waiting for? Her hands felt sweaty but she resisted the urge to wipe her palms at her dress, not wanting you to realize how nervous the whole situation actually made her.
“The truth is…” You hesitated for a few seconds and took a deep breath before continuing, “Ayaka, you’re my best friend and you are so, so important to me but I – I don’t love you. Not like you love me, at least. I’m – I’m sorry.”
It was weird, really. Ayaka had imagined this moment so often that she could barely understand what you were trying to say. In her dreams, you had always wrapped your arms around her, whispering sweet love confessions into her ear as you held her close. But your words weren’t what she had expected to hear at all.
“I don’t love you.” The words kept echoing in her mind, repeating themselves over and over again. “I don’t love you.”
And all of a sudden, Ayaka felt like someone had poured a bucket of ice-cold water right over her head. Her heartbeat was still frantic as she stared at you with wide eyes, trying to comprehend that the love of her life was rejecting her after years of being so close.
It hurt. It hurt so damn much that a part of her wanted to forget her good upbringing and slap you across the face to make you feel at least a friction of the pain you were causing her in that moment. But her rationality was stronger. She wouldn’t bring shame upon her family by losing her temper here in the garden of the Kamisato Estate where everyone could see and hear her.
“I understand,” Ayaka finally replied, proud that she managed to make her voice sound as calm and composed as usual. “I apologize if any of my actions made you feel uncomfortable.”
“No, no, that’s not – Ayaka, please, that’s not what I wanted to imply.”
With a sigh, she shook her head. “You don’t need to explain it to me, (Y/N). You don’t share my feelings and I have to accept that. I am not mad if that is what you’re afraid of.”
You shifted in your seat, clearly uncomfortable with the whole situation. Perhaps you had expected her to break down and cry but she wouldn’t do that, not in front of you, not this time. “Ayaka…”
“Maybe it is better if we don’t see each other for a while,” she suggested, still surprisingly calm, and your eyes widened in shock. “No, please,” you said, reaching out for her hand as she got up. With pleading eyes, you looked up at her. “Stay with me. Please. We need to talk about this, we can’t throw our friendship away like that.”
A sad smile flashed over her face. “I can’t be your friend right now, (Y/N). Please respect that and let me go.”
You felt tears welling up in your eyes. You had never meant to destroy the friendship the two of you had but now you realized that you had messed up, and suddenly, the sun didn’t feel warm on your skin anymore. “So, this is goodbye?”
Surrounded by the sweet scent of Sakura blossoms, Ayaka pulled her hand away, careful not to make eye contact with you to hide that she was at the verge of tears, too. “Yes,” she whispered. “For now, this is goodbye.”
