If you thought Lex and Bruce hated each other, you should see Ollie and Tony. Iron Man and Green Arrow have an.... interesting relationship, which mostly manifests in them aggressively trying out outdo each other with their Gadgets. It has been suggested that this is in some way homoerotic. It is actually, genuinely, 100% not.

Atlantis is just mutants. They have an open offer of citizenship to any mutant who can breathe underwater. Arthur HATES that he's the king who has to get Involved with the Surface because of pollution and mutant rights. Couldn't it be someone else. why did HE have to be king right now.

Dick and Kurt have a standing lunch every month or so. Dick is jealous Kurt can do tricks he can't with his tail. Kurt is jealous Dick can do a quadruple somersault. It's a friendly rivalry that includes a lot of ribbing each other and bad jokes that don't translate into English.

Deathstroke's origin is extremely classified by SHIELD, at least partially so Steve doesn't find out.

Top 5 Historically-Inaccurate But Pretty Outfits

Mina's red dress (Bram Stoker's Dracula)

Acclaimed costume designer Eiko Ishioka, my beloved. And to be fair, this isn't so much inaccurate as out-of-place in the movie's 1890s setting. It's much more early 1870s, where it would be atypical but plausible. I want this dress for myself so badly. Maybe someday...

2. Everything in that show about the Ottoman Empire that keeps coming up on my dash.

Magnificent Century, I think it's called in English? I am reliably informed that this is not what Turkish clothing of the 16th century actually looked like. But damn, is it pretty.

3. Literally every costume from Jingle Jangle

It's a fantasy world; not actually our own history. They did not have to go this hard melding real 19th-century silhouettes and period details with inspiration from modern Black designers, hairstylists, etc. but they DID and I LOVE IT. The movie overall wasn't my absolute favorite- nor did I expect it to be; it's a children's movie and I'm 29 -but those costumes. Ye gods.

4. This blue dress from Br*dgerton

Yeah, I'm as surprised as you about this one, given my infamous hate-on for the Br*dgerton costumes. And I still stand by most of it (why do Regency if you don't actually like Regency, you should have made fewer costumes that actually fit the actors and didn't look tacky as hell rather than a couple thousand slapdash pieces, etc.). But. This dress looks incredible on the actress. That picture doesn't show it, but it has tons of tiny rhinestones winking all over the silk- which is a gorgeous shade for her, too. I still maintain some level of "are you kidding me?" when asked to accept it as Regency, but just as a dress in general...lovely; no notes.

5. Eliza's green pinafore dress from My Fair Lady

This bears very little resemblance to anything an adult woman would have worn in Vague 1910-ish Times(TM). But I loved it so much as a child that I still love it today. Maybe I should try designing and making a Historically Accurate Version of it sometime...

Hi, I have a question about Homebrewery use: How do you make a table have as many rows as you need? All the pre-set tables seem to have 5 rows, and I can't figure out how to expand them.

Hey there! In order to add rows to your table, you can copy one of the rows that you have and add it as many times as you need at the bottom. I'll be using the following standard table coding generated by the Homebrewery as an example:

##### Cookie Tastiness | Tastiness | Cookie Type | |:----:|:-------------| | 8th | Chocolate Chip | | 11th | 2 or lower | | 14th | 3 or lower | | 17th | 4 or lower |

You can simply copy and paste the last row of your table, and add it directly below the last line of your table's coding to add more rows to your table, like so:

| 14th | 3 or lower | | 17th | 4 or lower | | 17th | 4 or lower | | 17th | 4 or lower |

And so forth! If you'd like to add columns to the table, you widen each line of your table like so, also creating a new column header ("Ingredients" in this example):

And so on, adding as many rows and colums as you need (and adding your own table contents!). Hope this helps! :)

With regard to your (excellent) lecture, what do you think of the trend of interpretations of the Green Knight story where Gawain is... maybe pretty okay with getting kisses from lady Bertalik and then turning around and giving them to het husband in relation to the theory that all those encounters in various Gothic novels where consent is dubious at best were a way for women to explore sexuality they weren't "supposed" to have in a way that left them blameless (women's desire vs adulterous and/or homoerotic desire, all societally frowned upon)? Could all those wide-eyed blondes in their flimsy nightgowns owe a debt to this stalwart, manly knight?

Sorry I missed this!  It’s definitely an interesting question.  I differ from a lot of people in that I don’t think Lucy and Mina from Dracula were into the vampiric predation- Mina’s blood exchange scene in particular reads to me pretty overwhelmingly as a rape scene- but villains who are to some extent sexy are definitely a staple of gothic literature.  Carmilla is probably the foremost example of this- it’s possible to read her relationship with Laura as either requited love or unrequited predation, as Laura never actually says what she feels about it.  Others have talked about how Montoni of Udolpho is probably the most interesting character, and then there are all the adaptations where sexuality comes to the forefront...

The Green Knight (and his wife, whom Gawain does resist) falls into this tradition, but I would also add in all the stories about Morgan, Elaine of Corbenic, and all the other Arthurian femmes fatale whose come-ons to the stalwart knights are rejected but may still titilate the reader.  Sir Borns walked away from a castle full of demonic maidens, and the overtly sexual scene was parodied beautifully with the Castle Anthrax sequence in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  I guess this is where the Doyleist vs. Watsonian arguments come in- I may argue that Lancelot doesn’t want Morgan and that Lucy doesn’t want Dracula, but that doesn’t mean the audience doesn’t want them!

So Celestial Thorne is willing to have a very polite and very aristocratic character, but none of the real bastards are aristocratic at all? Man, you know, I love some "What if rich people were good" escapism as much as anyone, but I think it might be nice to add a real jerk of an aristocrat for contrast.
