I’ll say this…

… NUMB3RS is corny, a bit tasteless, absolutely nonsensical, generally unrealistic, but damn are they not afraid of the government corruption angle.

#Firebird Randomness #the plots tend to range from absolutely ridiculous to rather questionable #but damn is it the characters who carry the show #in some ways #like I've mentioned before one criticism I do have is w/ the exception of Megan and Amnita #most of the female cast is pretty forgettable #I guess Terry did okay but she didn't really stick w/ me #but David and Colby #you can see why they kept Colby on #their chemistry was just off the charts #meanwhile Don and Charlie absolutely carry the other half of the show #well I mean the other side characters are strong #like I said Amnita and Larry as well are great #but damn if Charlie and Don don't sell a large part of everything #Ron and David have stellar familial chemistry and they sell the 'awkward rebonding' angle perfectly #I don't agree w/ some of the writing choices but damn if they don't carry that show through a helluva lot #also while I'm writing tags about this show #in the ep Backscatter I don't think it was so much a distraction as an intimidation tactic #more of a 'stop investigating me' than a smoke screen #after all they had no idea how much the investigators knew #and the hacking trap was probably meant to get the team killed #sure maybe it's a distraction but he was also close to what they were doing so I think they were more trying to scare him off #Things You Didn't Know Fire Was Into

the fact that these namor x shuri scenes happened is STUCK in my mind:

1. the talokan scene: shuri looking around talokan in wonder, namor proudly telling her that he managed to create the sun for his people, HIM REACHING OUT FOR HER HAND WHEN THE SCENE ENDED LIKE I KNOW YALL SAW IT TOO

2. namor giving her his mother’s bracelet and SHURI TREATING IT WITH ABSOLUTE CARE EVEN AFTER EVERY THING

3. telling queen ramonda straight up with a SMILE on his face that there’s NOTHING he wants in exchange for shuri to be released (bro was ready for her to stay there for a long time and was probably already planning her accommodation)

4. after everything he has done to her, flooding the capital, drowning queen ramonda - he still addressed shuri as “princess” when he was inside the heat evaporation ship. like… he really said “PRINCESS”. it’s starting to sound like a pet name, bye.

5. shuri remembering namor smiling at her as she held the tip of her spear to end his life. do i have to say anything more about this?
