Yo , can you do the famous reader one but with characters ¿? Sorry if I was not clear :p
my bad, it's not ur fault I was being dumb. I'm also writing this at 3:00 am, after procrastinating for a week, so sorry for any typos in advance. enjoy!
Finney
Will probably keep his distance from u.
Will admire u from afar, kinda like how he was with Donna, just a bit more extreme since ur famous.
This boy will just stare at you from across the room. No shame whatsoever. Can't hold eye contact for shit tho, and easily flustered.
Since ur famous, I'd imagine you'd be like a child act or actress, so Finney would go to the movie theatre every Friday with Robin or Gwen to see ur movies.
(just remembered how Robin is 6 feet under rn, I'm imagining Finney carrying a pile of bones in a bucket labeled "Robin" to the movies, LMAO, anyways...)
Since he's short on cash (I headcanon he's broke af, I mean he's 13) he'll hideout in the bathroom once ur movies over, then wait for the next audience to come and watch it, then sneak into that booth so he can watch it again. Like, mf u could just go home? But he's committed to u.
When yall got together, the whole school was SHOOK, the people were pondering over yall for days.
You'd have to reassure him a lot. He gets insecure a lot by ur status and what people say.
But Robin will beat the haters up!😁
Robin
will def beat up all ur haters, whether yall are dating or not.
He'll try to act non-chalant and tough around you when he's literally freaking out the moment u walk into the room.
Imagine him just locking eyes with u while he's beating up some kid, just holding eye contact mid punch cause he thinks it makes him look cool.
And ur just like "😐".
Like I said with Finney, he'll go to the movie theatre EVERYDAY to watch ur movies instead of studying.
He just ignores doing it cause homework's for losers.
Like aren't u failing math?
U get scary dog privileges once yall start dating. He's always staring people down when they look at you for too long, he's super protective.
Yall would def be a power couple.
Bruce
He fangirls over u.
Thats it, that's all I have to say.
He ain't a stalker, but is 100% ur biggest fan.
Will flirt with u, get u small gifts, and invite u to his baseball games.
Will definitely serenade u with a guitar in the middle of the hallway, then laugh when u get embarrassed.
He brags to his friends about u all the time.
Nobody's surprised when yall start dating.
The popular boy and the movie star, it was a match made in heaven.
Like with Robin, yall would be a power couple.
Vance
He's literally ur biggest hater, polar opposite of Bruce.
He doesn't really hate u, he's just trying to deny his feelings for u by becoming ur mortal enemy.
He's trying to convince himself he doesn't like you, even tho he thinks about u (and pinball) all day.
Teases u, calls u names, goes out of his way to ruin ur day, he's honestly a menace.
"Vance! Did you see y/n's new movie? It's so cool!" "She looks like a seahorse be fr." "😟"
Vance is just insecure, with his dirty reputation, it's hard for him to believe someone like you would want someone like him.
He's unsure of how to process his emotions correctly, so he just bottles them up. Then imagine yall get into an argument, then all his pent-up feelings come pouring out in an aggressive confession, then yall get together.
The world was SHOOK, again.
Nobody could connect the dots, the goofy "bad boy" dating the movie star? Nobody predicted it.
He keeps his affection under the radar, wouldn't want to ruin his reputation.
He claims ur turning him into a "softie", but he's totally whipped for u.
Scary dog privileges, too.

Sacred New Beginnings- Chapter 9
————————————————————————
A/N- Ok yall! We have one more chapter left in our series, thank you guys so much for all the love! I’ve gotten such a kick out of seeing people go through the series in my notifications, it’s so nice to know you guys love these characters like I do.
Pairing- Jake “Hangman” Seresin x reader (oc Stormy)
Warnings- Drinking, Smut, Language
Song inspo- You are in love- Taylor Swift, All your’n- Tyler Childers
Tumblr media
It had been a tough few months but you’d graduated PT and therapy and finally had been cleared to fly again. Stepping onto the tarmac felt surreal, you’d been so scared that you would never get to do this again, the thought had almost been too much to bear, but as you and Viper loaded into the jet everything that troubled you fell away and it was like no time had passed at all.
Jake was on a flight of his own, but definitely not enjoying it as much as you. He was pretty sure all pilots hated flying on commercial flights, any plane that he wasn’t in charge of made him uneasy but it was all worth it to get to spend the weekend with you. Your squadron was hosting a ball and awards ceremony to honor everyone that had flown in the mission a few months ago, they’d given everyone time to heal and with you and Viper being cleared for duty it was high time to celebrate. His mother had stayed with you for a few weeks to get you settled and she couldn’t stop gushing over how much she adored you, the thought of placing his grandmother’s ring ever present in his mind knowing that you had fit so seamlessly into his life, he still felt like he was dreaming sometimes when he looked at you if he was honest, somehow he’d gotten everything he’d ever wanted.
When they stepped into their hotel room for the weekend he had to say the navy had pulled out all the stops, the super swanky hotel was right on the beach and had a beautiful view of the coast. That wasn’t all he was looking at because as you stepped out onto the balcony he watched you slip out of your little sundress and smirk at him, barely covered in your tiny black lingerie as you beckoned him to come outside. “What have you got cooking in that brain of yours Stormy girl?” He said as he ran his hands all over your body and watched your eyes light up as you shivered into his touch. “It’s such a pretty night, I was thinking…Maybe you should bend me over the railing and fuck me right here? What do you think?” You said as you bit your lip and hitched your leg around the curve of his ass, he groaned at the feeling of your core pressed to his shorts, gripping your chin so he could kiss you, running his tongue along yours as you ground yourself on him. You were so in love with him, the distance was getting harder every day that he was away and having him in your arms made you never want to let him leave. He made good on your suggestion, pressing you against the cool iron railing as the sounds of the waves swallowed up your cries of your pleasure.
————————————————————————
Waking up to him was always bittersweet these days, knowing you would have to send him back tomorrow night made it even more painful to untangle yourself from him. You almost had him persuaded into going out for breakfast but he insisted that room service and morning sex would be so much better, and how could you say no to that?
“Jake we have to get up at some point, I don’t think that they’re going to let me miss this ceremony and I certainly can’t go dressed in a sheet” you said as he tried to pull you back into the bed sometime around three, the puppy dog eyes and pouty lips were almost enough to make you climb back in but you needed to shower and start getting ready for this afternoon. “I can just give you a world’s best girlfriend award and show you how much I love you, isn’t that better than getting dressed up and rubbing elbows with officers all night?” You dropped your sheet as you stepped towards the bathroom and gave him as stern a look as you could without laughing, he was already peeling the blanket back to follow you, the man was insatiable and you loved it even if it did make you late. “If you can be on your best behavior tonight I’ll let you hold me hostage in bed until your flight tomorrow, but in the meantime get your sexy ass in the shower, that’s an order.” He didn’t need to be told twice, throwing you over his shoulder and taking full advantage of the roomy hotel bathroom.
He had finally let go of you long enough for the two of you to get dressed, you had opted out of your dress uniform in favor of a slinky green floor length gown, almost perfectly matching Jake’s eyes, reveling in the way he followed you with his gaze as you crossed the room to step into your heels. “You’re making it harder and harder for me to go back to Miramar darlin’, remind me again why you didn’t let me push for that transfer?” You just shook your head as you fixed his tie, “Because Top Gun is your dream and I would never forgive myself if I was the reason you left.” He pulled you close to meet your eyes, pressing a kiss to your nose and taking a shaky breath, he was kicking himself for not bringing the ring with him, a proposal seemed to be on his mind every second these days. “Baby, Top Gun was the dream and it has been everything but not for the reason you think. It brought me you, everything else is just icing on the cake. I’ll gladly go wherever if that means I get to come home to you every night, you just say the word and I’ll make it happen.” You blinked back tears and whispered “You’d give it up just like that?”
“Just like that Stormy girl, you’re my dream now.”
————————————————————————
Watching you cross the ballroom to receive your commendation medal was definitely the proudest moment of Jake’s life so far, he’d received his own during the Uranium mission years ago but watching you recover and thrive after the hell of your accident was unlike anything he’d ever seen. You had been determined to get back to where you were and you hadn’t let anyone stop you, pushing forward to become even better than before. You’d been buzzing with excitement when you made it back to your table, Viper clapping the loudest of them all as he ushered you into his arms for a bear hug. Jake had worried he’d be jealous of whoever took his place as your pilot but after getting to know him he couldn’t be more grateful that the two of you had each other’s back, he could confidently say Viper had become a good friend. Once the ceremony ended the dance floor began to flood with couples as the dj began to perform, viper quickly scooping you up with a wild grin. “You mind if I take your girl for a spin Seresin? Time to see if all that PT healed her of her two left feet” he cackled and you playfully punched his arm, blowing Jake a kiss as you went.
He made some small talk with a few of your friends and then excused himself to grab another beer, but as he was standing in line he caught someone behind him saying your name. “You do know who she is right?” “Yea yea, Admiral Simpson’s beloved goddaughter, whatever dude. She’s hot as hell, she just needs a little more alcohol in her. I bet I could get her into bed with me no problem.” “Dude, you’re a fucking idiot, number one she’s a highly decorated WSO, for two from what I hear she’s taken.” “Bro, do you see a ring or a boyfriend? Come on man be for real, whoever she’s seeing isn’t here so he obviously isn’t that concerned, he’s probably got a side piece wherever he’s at anyway. I’m shooting my shot.” Before the idiot in question could get more than two steps forward he’s spun around by a strong arm, an arm that belongs to a very pissed off looking Jake “Hangman” Seresin. “Oh holy shit, it’s the hangman! Dude you’re legendary, heard so much about you, thought you were at top gun though, what’re you doing slumming it down here in Florida?” This guy was clearly short of a few brain cells, and Jake was more than willing to beat a few more out of him after hearing the awful shit he was spewing about the love of his life.
“Ensign..Wilson is it? First of all if I ever hear you talking about a superior officer in the manner you were speaking I will make sure you never see the inside of a jet in your lifetime, secondly since you seemed so invested in Lt. l/n’s love life let me set the record straight. She’s my girlfriend, and if you so much as look her way again I’ll feed you your own eyes, got me?” The Ensign looked at Jake like he might piss himself, nodded his head and scurried away as fast as possible. Good, he thinks, maybe putting the fear of God in these idiots will teach them to keep their thoughts to themselves, maybe they’ll even spread the word that you’re taken, he knows you can handle yourself but he is only human, he can’t help but get a little possessive over what’s his.
Looking back across the ballroom he sees you being spun along the floor by Viper and his husband Theo, Jake can’t help but smile so hard his cheeks hurt at the sight, you’ve been through hell the past few months and he couldn’t be more proud of you. He made a mental note to see that Ensign Wilson got his ass handed to him for conduct unbecoming an officer and then swooped in to pull you into his arms for a dance.
It never got easier sending him back to California, and no matter how hard you tried you still ended up crying in his arms by TSA, pressing kisses to exposed skin and whispering I love yous until he had no choice but to go or he’d miss his flight.
——————————————————————
Monday morning when you stepped into your office building Viper snatched you up, pressing a coffee into your hand as he ushered you down the hall. “Luke what the hell is going on?! I thought we had a class to teach today?” He was practically bouncing as he walked, but he couldn’t keep a secret to save his life so he skidded to a stop to spill his guts. “There’s a rumor going around that there’s a slot open at Top Gun, I don’t know how real it is but we have to be in Admiral Thompson’s office asap for a meeting. Don’t get your hopes up kid but we may be heading to the west coast.” You couldn’t contain your squeal of excitement, all but dragging him down the hall to find out what the big meeting was about.
—————————————————————
Jake was starting to worry if he was honest with himself, you’d been distant the past two weeks since he got back home, always seeming to be busy with one thing or another and never having much time to talk. He’d found out there was a new team being organized on base and he’d wanted to talk to you about it, wondering if maybe you could use the opportunity to ask your godfather for a transfer back but he hadn’t had the chance to bring it up. When he’d texted earlier you said you’d be in meetings all day, but it was nearly 10 pm and there hadn’t been a peep from you since. He mulled around the house, finishing his laundry and washing his dinner dishes when he heard his doorbell go off. Who the hell would be here this late? He grumbled about common courtesy as he crossed the hall and unlocked the door, only to find you on his porch, three giant bags of luggage and a huge smile on your face.
“Baby- what the hell are you-“ he looked bewildered as you stood there and held up a bottle of champagne, and why did you have so much luggage? It was like you’d brought everything you owned.
“That new team coming to Miramar? You’re looking at their newest WSO. I’m sorry I’ve been so busy but I was hoping to make it up to you…What would you say to me moving in?” You giggled and threw yourself into his arms, you’d been worried that he would be upset with you for keeping it a secret but with the way he barely let you get in the door before he started trying to pull your clothes off you knew he was happy. You didn't have to make the long distance work anymore, finally, finally you and Jake could really start your future.

A look at the victims of tcmg
Tumblr media
With the new release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Game, we have been exposed to a terrifying and tense world with lovely brand new characters in addition to the iconic Sawyers. The victims, all original to the game, are just fantastic. Each of them has a rich backstory to them and more so, clear personalities!
Playing the game and playing a good amount with each victim, I have noticed some clear markers of personality in every character through their dialogue.
Sonny, my main, is a anxious yet steadfast kind of guy. He speaks timidly as a mouse, commenting quietly about how horrifying things are while trying to keep brave. Although in stature he is smaller than the other victims, Sonny is brave despite his greatest fears. He constantly amps himself up, urging himself to not loose hope and to get out of tough spots. I really love how Sonny, alongside Ana, are the friends that try to bring peace of mind to everyone else. Sonny isn't a leader but he is strong support to the other survivors and that fact shows even more in his ability to hear other survivors and the killers from far distances. He's a sort of lookout for the group, staying cunning and brave despite clearly being scared. Another thing I have to point out with Sonny is his connection to Maria. Sonny, alongside Ana, clearly want to find Maria the most out of anyone. Sonny constantly talks about how he recognizes the family members from his investigations. Sonny likely spied on the family members and is likely the one who figured everything out, connecting Maria's disappearance to the family. Sonny clearly was adamant on finding his friend and helping Ana out, he's a true friend.
Then there is Julie and... she is a completely different type of character but I love her for that. She isn't a resilient survivor or a strong willed person. In fact, Julie is like an innocent girl stuck in the worst place she could possibly be. Julie is probably the least hopeful victim in tcmg, she constantly comments on how they are all probably going to die and that there is no hope of them escaping. She is extremely fearful about everything happening and that's the dominant emotion that controls what she does. Julie may be extremely scared but that doesn't change the fact that she's way more adept towards survival than she might think. Her extreme fear helps her as because of it she is much more cautious and stealthy than any other victim. Julie is one of the more tragic victims in this game I feel, she always cries extremely hard when she gets killed and I hate whenever she dies. Julie is a sweet soul and the other survivors comment on that when they find her dead body. Connie for example says "Oh sweetie what did they do to you..." Julie to me is clearly a girl who is a sweet soul and wanted to help find her missing friend but she never thought it would go somewhere so horrible. Out of all the victims, she is the only one who regrets coming her and constantly says that they never should of come here. Julie is also super caring! She asks if the other survivors are hurt and she tells each other to stick together. I also love how she casually calls everyone babe, I think it's just a small detail since she is from California but I still think it's cool. She is an extremely scared person but still has a kind and caring heart.
Ana is probably my favorite character, she is just so extremely bad ass and is for sure the final girl of the game. Not only is she the youngest in the group but she is also the toughest. Not just because her toughness stat is crazy high but because Ana herself is a tough person. Out of all the victims, I'd say she is the most fearless and she uses that to her advantage completely. She fearlessly stands up to the family and she has such devotion for her friends and her sister. Everytime she attacks a family member she screams "This is for Maria" or "What did you do to my sister?!" She is a badass in everyway frankly and I love her for it. Her ability shows that too, SHE LITERALLY IGNORES PAIN BECAUSE HER RESOLVE IS SO STRONG. I mean seriously, talk about final girl. If Ana was armed with more dangerous weapons than just bone knives, she would bring hell upon the family I'm sure.
Okay now we have Leland, who is all around a pretty cool guy. He's loyal, strong, and caring. Leland however, is not tough. He literally whimpers on low health, if you want Leland whimper audio just play him for one game and there you go. Leland has a low tough stat and that shows in his personality too. Leland's voicelines suggest he isn't a very brave person but when worst comes to worst, bravery springs up in Leland when he would least expect it. He does great fighting back against family members better than he does sneaking around hoping they won't find him. I feel like Leland is a little self consious about himself, he doesn't think he has what it takes to survive when it actuality he does. He has a true heart of gold and wrecklessly, yet bravely shoulder charges those killers head on despite his fear.
Last but not least, Connie is our last victim. She's crafty and picks locks faster than Bubba can rev his chainsaw, we all know it and we love her for it. Connie is another character I love, although I think her true personality is dulled down a little in such a tense situation. Some of Connie's voice lines suggest she is a kind hearted and witty woman but most of the time she is completely focused on getting the hell out of here. Connie switches from being a kind friend to a girl with more survival potential than anyone could have guessed. Connie, like Sonny, is scared but at the same time she has the strength to mostly ignore it so she can focus on getting out. Perhaps sometimes too much however as her ability makes her too focused on locks to escape to realize the family is around her. I really like this about her though, it really shows how she gets in a tense situation.
Overall I have been loving the tcm game and it's victims are wonderfully fleshed out. It's really refreshing to see these characters, know their motives for being here and their vastly different personalities. It's really refreshing and it just adds onto the intensity of the game. I want the victims to survive and I feel horrible when they don't because they are all so likeable 😭 tcm is just a great game so far and I'm hopeful that the game will continue going strong and just keep improving.

(Top Gun Maverick) Bob Floyd x Fem!Reader: I Like You
Inspired by the scene in which Bob is introduced lol ;) ***I do not own the lines from the scene - they're in italics and bold. I also do not own the Top Gun Maverick characters*** Y/N = Your Name & Your Call Sign is Lightstrike
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Bob's POV
I've been eating my peanuts sitting here watching everyone talk. They talked to me and Hangman called me a stealth pilot. He did say it was a joke though. I don't get it. I saw this really pretty girl in uniform walk in and she went to the bar earlier. I wonder who she is.
I hear, "Hey, is anyone sitting here?" I turn to see the pretty girl standing there holding a beer in one hand and a basket of fries in the other. I shake my head and she sits down before asking, "What do they call you?" I answer, "Bob." She asks, "No, your call sign?" I answer, "Uh...Bob." She asks, "Bob Floyd? You're my new backseater? From Lemoore?" She is who I'm going to be working with. Oh boy, I'm not going to last long at all. I reply, "Looks like it. Yeah." She replies, "Very nice to meet you, Bob. My name is Y/N and my call sign is Lightstrike." I ask, "How did you get that call sign?" She answers, "My first Captain said it was because I fly super fast and can strike at any distance. Some of the boys say it's because I'm super light and I can hit any target. So either way, I can strike." I reply, "Well, it's super cool. It's way better than mine." She replies, "Then you should turn the negative connotation of baby on board into a positive one. For example, babies like to explore, so maybe so do you. I don't know. I'm just going to stick to my drink." I laugh and say, "It's okay. I've accepted it... do you know any of the others?" She answers, "I do, yeah. Phoenix is one of the only females I get along with. I grew up with Rooster. Hangman calls me his little sister. The others are cool too." He replies, "Oh cool. You grew up with Rooster?" She answers, "He's my twin. Can't you tell?" I cough on my peanuts and I hear, "Bob? Are you treating my sister right?" I see Rooster standing there in front of me. I do see the family resemblance now.
Y/N's POV
You look between Rooster and Bob. You think Bob had no idea that you were related to Rooster/Bradley. It's funny. You thought everyone knew. To be fair, you were the quieter one. People forgot about you until you outshined them... then they remembered... THE NORTH REMEMBERS!!! Haha Game of Thrones reference anyone?
Bob says, "I just found out you two were related." Rooster laughs and says, "Surprise! We're twins!" Bob laughs and his smile is so cute. Oh, it is over if I think someone I work with is cute... oh boy... You hear, "How are my favorite twins?" You sarcastically reply, "Funny I thought your favorite twins were Ellie and Ella from last summer? I remember you vividly telling us about your experience with twins and how it was the best you've ever had." Hangman gasps and says, "I'm shocked and proud you remember. How dare you bring up an ex of mine?" Rooster replies, "Technically exes in this case." Hangman replies, "Not you too, Rooster. Damn it, I hate you two. I'm going to get another round." You reply, "Ok, but let's not repeat last year on August 1?" Hangman flips you off before he leaves. Rooster says, "God I hate that he is on this assignment too. If I lose my temper, it's because of him. I'm calling it now." Bob replies, "He doesn't seem that bad." Rooster replies, "Just wait... I think I need another drink now that I'm thinking about this." He walks off and you say, "Rooster is just very negative sometimes. Hangman is overly confident in his abilities, but he is good at what he does. It angers Rooster and they're fierce rivals." Bob replies, "I understand."
Phoenix slings her arms around your shoulder and says, "Hi, please join my team for pool. I know we'll win if you're on my team. Please please please." You laugh and say, "Sure, Phoenix. I'll join. Bob, can you watch my drink and my food?" He nods and smiles.
You walk up to see you're up against Fanboy and Hangman. Hangman exclaims, "Lightstrike and Phoenix... you'll be tough to beat, but I think we can. Right, Fanboy?" Fanboy replies, "I think we can too." You exclaim, "Phoenix, we're going to crush the boys. Right?" Phoenix replies, "H**l yeah!" Phoenix and Fanboy do rock paper scissors to see who will start... unfortunately Fanboy starts... this could be bad. Hangman is good and given the chance to start, he can usually put at least 16 points on the board. Oh boy:( Sure enough, he does. Phoenix goes and ties up the game. Whew:/ ... You and Phoenix end up winning by 4 points. The boys ask for a rematch, but you accept only if they buy you both a round of drinks. They agree and they win round two. Bob chimes in occasionally with funny remarks and you're glad he doesn't seem as quiet as before. He's cute when he's happy.
You're doing 100 push-ups, see a shadow, see Hangman, and sigh. You ask, "What's up, Hangman? I'm guessing you don't have to do 100 push-ups." He answers, "No I don't, sucker. But anyway, I wanted to talk to you." You reply, "Well, I'm kind of stuck here, so go ahead. Talk away." He laughs and says, "You have no idea how good that sounds. Well you see there's this girl that I really like and I'm trying my best to be on good behavior around her, but she thinks I'm a douche still. I want her to know that I want to go on a date with her and I was wondering how I should ask her out. I was hoping you have ideas on what girls like." You ask, "What are some things she's mentioned before that she likes?" He answers, "She always is drinking Corona and she wears these little charm bracelets every week to the bar. It's really cute how she has things she likes and she's loyal to them." You reply, "God, you're such a sucker for her. Listen, buy her a pack of Corona and a charm bracelet. There's a cute boutique on Main Street called Auntie May's Boutique and they have all kinds of bracelets. Just look around and pick one. When you give them to her, be upfront with her about your feelings for her and she'll be more willing to say yes." You hit 100, stand, and ask, "Why did you come to me for advice? You know my love life is pretty barren." He answers, "I trust you not to make fun of me, and come on girl, we both know Bob likes you. Do you like him?" You answer, "Even if I did like him, why would I date a coworker? It could ruin the mission." He replies, "But you don't know until you try. I don't think Bob is the type for a quickie or a fling. He has seemed all in for you since day one. When we were at the bar, you first arrived and I caught him watching you. He was blushing when I asked him about it. I'm not saying he's the one, but I'm saying, you should go for it." You nod and reply, "I might. Thanks for listening. Bradley will give me h**l if I tell him that I like Bob or if I tell him anything dating-related." He replies, "Yeah well he's your brother who needs to know that you can make your own decisions and live your own life. Screw him not literally but you get what I'm saying." You laugh.
Meanwhile ... Bob's POV
I find Rooster sitting on a bench and ask, "Hey man, mind if I sit?" Rooster answers, "Of course dude. I don't care." I sit down and stare out at the planes in front of me. Wow, I never sit here. I didn't realize how the planes looked from over here. I hear, "Dude? Bob? Hello." I turn to see Rooster looking at me and he asks, "Penny for your thoughts?" I answer, "I uh ... I really like a girl and I'm scared to ask her out." He asks, "Is the girl my sister? You can be honest if it is. I don't mind." I nod and answer, "Yeah, she's just perfect." He laughs and replies, "I wouldn't say that, but she's pretty cool. Look dude, I know you're into her. I see it all over your face whenever she's around. If you like her, I would just be honest and say it. The worst that could happen is she rejects you and you move on or you never ask her out and never know what could've happened with her. Wait for us to be at the Hard Deck this weekend and buy her a drink then tell her. I think she likes you too, but she doesn't talk to me about boys." I laugh.
The Hard Deck ... Y/N's POV
You just arrived at the Hard Deck because Rooster was supposed to drive you and he bailed. He's probably inside, but he didn't drive you, which is weird.
You see Bob waiting outside on his phone, so you walk up and ask, "Hey, is everything okay?" He asks, "Why wouldn't it be?" You answer, "You are outside and on your phone. I just assumed you were dealing with something serious out here." He replies, "No uh ... nothing serious. I was playing a word game as I waited for you. I wanted to see you and ask if I could buy you a drink." You reply, "Sure Bob, I would love that. Let's head in."
You both head inside and to the bar. Bob gets you both a beer then he leads you to a table away from your friends. You start sipping your drink and you notice him start fidgeting. You reach over, put your hands on his, and say, "Hey Bob, what's up?" He exclaims, "I uh... I bought you a drink because I like you. I think you're perfect despite what your brother says and I want to take you out on a date." You reply, "Despite what my brother says? I'm going to bring that up to him later... But wait you like me? I like you too. I was planning on telling you soon, but I didn't know how. Hangman told me to just go for his style, and I did not like that sound." He laughs and replies, "I don't like the sound of that either. So uh we like each other, that's good. Are you sure?" You answer, "Yeah I am. I've liked you since I met you. You're a really great guy, why wouldn't I be sure I like you?" He replies, "There's just other guys here that you could pick." You squeeze his hands in yours, kiss the back of his, and say, "I choose you, Bob. I really like you. I don't like the other guys the way that I like you. You're the only one I want to kiss and date." He smiles and says, "That's good... Um... Sorry if I seemed quiet when we first met, I was intimidated by how pretty you are." You reply, "That's okay, babe. I thought it was cute. You open up a lot more when we fly together, which was fun to discover." He replies, "That's because we're flying and I can't avoid or risk anything in the air." You reply, "Noted. Ask you important things in the air." He laughs and says, "No, don't. I don't want to mess us up." You laugh. 1 month later...
You've been on dates with Bob whenever you're both free. It's been great. You both have lots of fun together and he's been opening up to you more. You've been opening up with him too. He is really cute all the time and you try not to get flustered by it. Your time together flying has gotten more synchronized now that you both understand each other more. It's cool to see how the more you understand each other, the easier it is to interpret how each other will fly that day. The guys are constantly bugging the two of you for beating them at drills, which are not competitions ... they are literally just drills. The boys love to pester you both about your dating life too... they always try to ask questions that make you both blush so much. Rooster is supportive of you two but changes the topic every time someone tries to talk about your sex life. He always yells, "That's my sister!"

I think one of the reasons dc/warner bros like to push Batman (other than “cool/dark/edgy”) is ironically, it’s the easiest hero to sell toys of. As a character with no powers, he has to make do with tech, that means accessories! He can’t fly and doesn’t have super speed, ergo the Batmobile or batwing, or a bat jet pack! He needs different suits for different jobs, so that justifies variant figures! With other heroes, you’d just get the figure and that’s it. Why would the flash need a car? Why would Superman need power armor? If you’re old enough to remember, or research back enough, you’ll know the stupidity of the Superman mobile, or the just sad justice jogger. You could have a super figure’s eyes light up to show heat vision, but that’s about it. I guess you could have a green lantern toy line with construct accessories, but clear green plastic might be flimsy or too expensive, I don’t know. I’d think this was why they gave Wonder Woman a sword and shield, cuz they thought the lasso was lame, if not for BoYz DoNt LiKe GiRl HeRoZ! (Convo for another time, but even as a kid I hated that, and I was a boy)
So tldr, one of the reasons dc pushes bats is once upon a time they saw dollar signs at the idea of bat ji Joe.
Also the fact that you can make Batman Merch out of anything just by making it black and/or gray and just slapping a Batman logo on it--it's just probably a lot easier than finagling around other hero's color schemes.
Thinking about the Batsketball again...
Tumblr media
But on a lore level, yeah, Batman is basically the "Cool Toys" superhero. You pretty much have every person in the DC universe commenting on how many "Cool toys" Batman has, or how much of a manchild having all those "Cool Toys" makes him. Like, I hate hate hate Frank Miller and of course I would fight him any day of the week, but the one thing All Star Batman and Robin had going for it was the GIANT BEAUTIFUL JIM LEE ILLUSTRATED BATCAVE PULLOUT MULTI-PAGE SPREAD. Like I need you to picture me in bed, giant glass of ice water on my nightstand, absolutely fucking miserable as I trudge through the worst fucking Batman characterization of my goddamn life, and then, AND THEN-- I go, "Oh, this is a pull-out," I carefully unfold it because library book, and then my jaw drops. I literally felt all the 8-year-old boy parts of my brain activate, and then you have young Dick Grayson's voice narrating it with five little words: "And it just. keeps. going."
A thing I really do like about all of Batman's tech and toys is they're all very tactile, and one of the things that's making Arkham Knight very fun as I'm playing through it is this factor of figuring out which of your little gadgets to use in which situation, and you're so proud of yourself when you figure out when the game expects you to use a certain gadget without the game cuing you to do so, or when you get a new gadget and then go back to all the parts of the map you previously weren't able to access without it (Baby "Square shape goes in Square hole" brain activation...) and the game also has very fun sound and vibration design and camera work to make using the various doodads feel very tactile even as it's happening in the game, but okay, let's take all those factors and pivot to Superman.
Superman doesn't have the Batcave, he has the Fortress of Solitude, and the Fortress of Solitude is not a Toy Chest like the Batcave is. The Fortress of Solitude is not a teenager's basement room to brood. The name itself is very intentional: It's Superman saying, "Yes, I save humanity, but I need breaks from it, I need a space to contemplate my work and my heritage, as well as get some distance from it for perspective, or else I will go fucking bonkers." And it's not just a house or a trophy room, either, it's a museum, it's an archive. I think about the Grant Morrison commentary about the bottle city of Kandor being a family heirloom like a snow globe or a music box--beautiful and yet distant, and that also sets a lot of the mood for the Fortress of Solitude: If the Batcave is a big toybox full of robot dinosaurs and a batarang target range and a lot of tactile stuff, then the Fortress of Solitude is a lot more, "You can look but please please please do not touch unless you really know what you're doing." You touch one crystal in the Fortress of Solitude and Jor-El's giant hologram head pops up booming 'KAL-EL, MY SON, THESE ARE THE PRECIOUS RECORDED HISTORIES OF OUR PEOPLE--' and you're like "Oh Jesus fuck how do I turn this off---"
One of the things I've come to really like in recent comics is how, as Superman has embraced having a family, that the Fortress itself feels warmer and more dynamic--Lois is using it as a space to research and write a book about Krypton, Kara tinkers with Kryptonian technology, Jon spent stints there as a toddler in Superman: Space Age, Krypto is there... It's actually kind of reflected how museums have become a lot more dynamic and kid-friendly in recent years. It's still clearly a space they all respect, but there's a much stronger element of enrichment than, "Look at this thing behind glass."
But anyway, yeah, Superman's stories are really more, like, fantastical than Batman's, so it goes to reason that Superman-play is more daydreaming and broad imaginative concepts while Batman-play is more physical and tinkering. So Batman in general is more likely to have lots of toys.

Ability: Huge charisma, anyone who believes in her crown will fall towards her demands.
[Junior] Celeste (INTERNATIONAL POP SENSATION): upbeat, optimistic, knows how to hype up a crowd. Feeds off of praise and love
Ability: Make anyone admire him to the point of a crazed fan. (Dispels when they hear someone else sing); Disco dance balls that hypnotize people to gather up and dance! until….?
[Joss] Jade (Cowgirl): bubbly sweet, helpful, and hyper. Can easily forget small details.
Ability: robot horse stampede; insane control of lasso
[Monique] Jacqueline (Fashion Designer): Sassy, stands up for herself and others. Loves a good dynamic.
Ability: dress up doll (whatever outfit she draws in her book will appear on the actual target)
[Wade] Digit (Intel): always prepared with technology. knows everything about everyone, Gossip KING. thinks that all problems can be solved with science
Abilities: short-distance teleportation. can create a holographic image of himself as decoy
[Jim and Tim] Hex & Bolt (Engineers): curious pranksters, thirty for knowledge. Have inside jokes, genius little comedians. Pretty filial inside.
Abilities: makes crazy innovative technology, twin telepathy, thick thinned (less easily injured during experiments)

yall no im on team fuck wotc so i wanna plug a ttrpg ive played that is decently similar to dnd and id recommend as a cool one to check out if looking for a new system!
13TH AGE
13th age is a ttrpg system built for a high fantasy setting similar to d&d. its got a lot of similarities to dnd (in fact i believe many of the folks who worked on it worked on older editions of dnd) like a d20 based, class based system, but with a lot of streamlining done to combat as well as fun mechanics to tie your character into the world and game.
some specific details i really enjoyed:
one unique thing: something i enjoy about this that lends itself to character creation well is that every character has ‘one unique thing.’ most of your characters probably already have that, but this is a one or two word sentence that just summarizes that. this is great for both players who get too complicated in their backstories and helps them have a core unique thing (me cough) or characters who don’t super care about backstories come up with something unique even if its not a full shakespearean tragedy of a background
backgrounds: instead of your backgrounds giving you proficiency in certain things, characters have backgrounds with certain modifiers based on the importance to the character. this then lets you use the modifier for things that relate to your background. for example, my character spent years as a thief before the campaign, so she cat burglar +4. any time i picked a lock or did sneaky thief things, i could use my thief +4. another character had a background as librarian, so she got bonuses to speed reading, finding a book in complicated libraries, etc. iirc this character also had a background as a spoken word poet which. while less widely applicable. led to some fun shenanigans with charisma checks for a character who isn’t usually super persuasive. i will note some GMs don’t love this because some players will try to use these backgrounds too broadly and it can slow stuff down since its less spelled out, so be warned, but if you have a good group, its a lot of fun.
no grid based combat: this was the main reason my GM looked into 13th age. she hated grid combat, and in 13th age, rather than specific measurements and distances for spells and moves, everything is either engaged, nearby, or far. i will say there was a bit of a learning curve for the players in this group who were used to having exact distances spelled out, but honestly it was really fun not having to worry so much about exact distances and counting out squares and such.
escalation die: this was something i loved as someone who had a hard time focusing on longer combats. 13th age uses an escalation system to speed up combat - at the end of every round of combat, the escalation die gets a +1 that keeps increasing every round and adds to your attack rolls and damage. this represents the natural tire and fatigue in combat and keeps things moving. after six rounds have passed, it maxes out at +6
there are some other cool things as well such as icons that represent powerful figures in the world, unique abilities and skills that have a similar feel of d&d but fresh and new if youve played d&d to death, but TLDR: check out 13th age if you want a system that feels similar to D&D, but hate grid based and super long combats and want more mechanical weight to your characters history. also its been a few years since ive played so. apologies if i misremembered anything but! 13th age is super fun especially if you want something that feels similar to d&d but with some cool unique features

OKAY IMPORTANT UPDATE SO Crow convinced me that the more appropriate Type Of A Guy group is Allant, Gwyn, Aldia, Aldrich, Micolash and Shabriri, and it was actually Laurence who I unofficial 7th member because his portrayal and being pair item with Micolash is very speculative even if reasonable. As we in Russia say, пока запишем карандашом. I'd now ask you to write something funny and cringey for new super cool updated cast thanks to that CHICKEN, but this will just come across as me barely concealing my simping -_-" So I'll just ask for YOU to rate The Guys. You need to speak your opinions more, it is always good shit
Noooooo now I have to ramble about characters I hate that, fuck you. I hate rating people lol. But fineeeee:
Number 6 - Micolash lmaoripbozo
-
Ok ok, that's not actually true... I think my actual number 6 for the time being might be Shabriri. That doesn't mean I hate the guy, but he is simply a fucking dick. Like, so far he's the only one with not a droplet of cohesive motivation, and ending the suffering of everyone seems like a front for his true desire of seeing chaos consume reality. I like myself a seemingly pure evil baddie, but if I have to rate him with all the other dudes, he sorta pales in comparison. Maybe the DLC will expand on his philosophy and what he did before he had the Nomads entombed and decided to set the world ablaze with chaos. He IS very fun though, I will give him that lmao.
-
At number 5 I'd probably put Allant, though he might be subject to change whenever I get to play Demon's Souls. As was stated a bunch, he is a more depressed Shabriri, which makes him more genuine. His desire to end the suffering of mankind is true, unlike the previous prick, even if his methods of attaining that are fucked beyond compare. And that's the problem with him lol.
He only increased the world's suffering exponentially, because that's arguably what benefits the soul-hungry demons in the long run. He failed the one thing he wanted to do and probably doesn't even see it because he is too blinded by his own suffering and hatred of life. He is the reason his kingdom is run by corrupt officials, that his son gives up on life, and that most of his people have become food for unfeeling abominations. He is a weak leader. There's nothing wrong with being weak, but you are not supposed to drag the world down with you the way he decided to do...
-
Number 4 was hard to place since I am still not sure what I am rating them for... so far it seems to be the complexity of their motivations/actions and the way they went about them. I guess this spot could go to Micolash in this case. Most of his motivations (if they even are his, and not just those of the School of Mensis as a whole) are context-heavy, which isn't really good in terms of building a compelling case as to why he should be above someone like Allant... still, the amount of cut content centered around him points to him having had a much richer role than what meets the eye, which I believe boost the likelihood that his character is well-defined even in the full game.
(To be honest, even if we know very little of that version of him, I suspect I would have liked him more like that lmao.)
His pursuit of knowledge probably had a concrete goal before it spiraled into what we see in-game. Despite its horrible fuckups, the Healing Church did start out genuinely seeking ways to better humanity, but it distanced from it the more it continued. The Choir, where he and most of Mensis probably originates, already sought to abandon their human roots, and the school he was part of likely did so even more. But they wouldn't seek guidance from the Great Ones, they'd become on par with them.
And to rise above humanity they did unspeakable things... some of them didn't even make any sense. Why stitch together those horrible corpse beasts? Why switch the heads of two animals? Why cram all those human remains into one casket? Not to mention all the people that were kidnapped: half of them were strapped to chairs and the other half turned to stone and merged into the walls. Everything just to try and proceed with a deranged ritual that was only made possible by desecrating an infant and its mother.
And when you finally meet him he is just rambling to himself, all alone and surrounded only by corpse puppets, Edgar and the occasional attendant. He has been stuck between those halls for long enough that his body has been mummified, and doesn't seem to have made any significant progress. He has likely lost his mind, rendering whatever it was that he was seeking worthless. But hey, at least he was closer than anyone to finding out about Kos from outside the Hunter's Nightmare, so I guess we can give him that.
Also his cut dialogue is pretty emotional, and makes me wonder just how different he was before he lost his mind... I ultimately think I have a soft spot for him ahahah
-
Number 3 is Gwyn, but it was really close with Aldrich on this one, lol. I decided his goals were assuredly less complex/noble, even though his means weren't as grotesque. To be honest, I think he's a pretty maligned character, for good reasons mind you. He effectively screwed over everyone in an attempt to keep the status quo intact, and before that, he took several preventive measures that just made life miserable for people in the long run. All of this paints a rather unflattering picture of Gwyn, and I do not deny this. What I argue against is the reason why he did what he did... to me, Gwyn was genuinely afraid.
Kaathe says Gwyn "trembled at the Dark", he was surely afraid of what darkness and an age of men entailed, especially for his people and family. What he did feels less like something a power-hungry lord who seeks to keep his power intact would do and more like one desperate attempt to delay a force much greater than you. His was a sacrifice in the end, and while his legacy is and will inevitably be cinders in an empty world, what prompted him to do what he did was something understandable, and very human of him ironically enough...
As an aside, I'm actually not super convinced that Gwyn fits neatly into this group of guys either. Honestly, Dark Souls 1 might lack a character that embodies this vibe. Instead, it has several with only bits and pieces of it. I find it more fitting to group him with the likes of Marika and Laurence rather than these other dudes.
-
Number 2 is Aldrich as you could have probably guessed. He is an awful awful man, but his course of action is probably the most anyone had been doing before the Unkindled woke up to make DS3 happen lol. The world had reached a point of stagnation when nothing new was happening. The dark threatens the light, but then the flame is kindled again, rinse and repeat again and again and again... he was doing SOMETHING different and prompting change, even if it was in a way that could be considered disgusting, unpleasant and evil. The once beautiful Deep had been turned into a seedbed of filth because of the stagnant nature of reality and this seemingly endless cycle, and he alone saw salvation through a different kind of age. The start of a brand new, different thing.
The path was arduous, the means deranged, but he DID want something more than chaos for chaos' sake, unlike Shabriri. He wanted to change things, but not passively like Allant. He did not lose track of his goal the more he accomplished like Micolash did, and he did not wish to uphold the status quo but rather challenge it, unlike Gwyn. But I really, REALLY understand why everyone sees him and recoils in horror or thinks there's nothing more complex behind his actions than a simple hunger for power and flesh.
But you know Miyazaki, he likes to write characters who do some really awful things but still portrays them as courageous and heroic in their madness and skewed ways. I get the same vibe from Aldrich, but that doesn't mean he wasn't intentionally portrayed the way he was to inspire discomfort or hatred in most players ahahah. Both things can be true at the same time, and they are!
-
Lol number 1's Aldia. He's got everything Aldrich has except for his abhorrent mannerisms and vices. He is someone wholly dedicated to the pursuit of answers, and from what I can tell most of his test subjects were people who accepted his invitations to the keep, which was mostly other madmen with a similar desire to break the boundaries of reality. Of course, it wouldn't be a Soulsborne game without a good dose of war crimes, so he did do things to the giants who ended up as prisoners of war during the two conflicts his brother took part in, but he wasn't making chimeras out of them or wasting them in useless experiments at the very least. Heck, he pretty much turned one into a superior being who seems to be all chill.
All horrors he committed in his mansion were for a singular goal: breaking the curse and finding a way out of a played-out cycle, even by the time of DS2. And while the depths of this obsession show some pretty horrible results, he isn't at all the same as Aldrich, who relished in the suffering of his victims. One can find his experiments horrid, but the man himself not so much. He was simply devoted. So devoted in fact that he destroyed himself to the point he was left with nothing but an endlessly-smouldering body. And despite achieving a form that's arguably outside of the cycle, he still saw it as a failure, because it wasn't what he wanted for humanity.
I've heard him get called a fence-sitter because he promotes inaction, but to arrive at such a conclusion you have to ignore everything that led him to his current state, AND his words to the Bearer of the Curse. If anything, this dude probably did everything one could do in the hopes of changing things, I think he is allowed to feel disillusioned at the end of it all without being described as a fence-sitter. In what way is he one anyhow? Both potential ages suck. Any witless fool can just waltz in and burn themselves or let the flame die. Someone like him would literally have zero reasons to care about either outcome because all his work was meant to lead to something beyond it... but he failed and awaited someone else who would challenge the order of the world and succeed where he couldn't.
At the end of the day, I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong lol, he still did some pretty weird shit... but I don't think it's insane to say that he is more respectable than basically everyone else on this list by virtue of actually being pretty selflessly motivated and for never losing the plot of why he was doing all those things in the first place.
-
I still don't know if I did good lmao, but yeah, this is what I think. If you noticed I get more verbose the deeper we go, that was intentional. It's not as if I don't have anything to say about Shabriri (you should know), it's just for the purposes of this "rating". Ultimately they are all prime characters.

some doodles with my characters.... some of these have already been posted separately, but there's some new ones also
If you're still here, have some explanations: "Heraldry" -- Just a small coat of arms design to symbolize the nation/race/species Beriith belongs to (I still don't have a name for them lol :/ ) ... yeah its a goat with a demon tail, what about it "Aging" -- Kid Beriith and... current day Beriith. He was always a serious kid, but definitely not as troubled as he is now. I like the idea of drawing my characters as children, but I genuinely don’t enjoy drawing children… kids generally don’t have the features I like drawing the most (like prominent nose shapes) so I often don’t, but I wanted to think about how Beriith’s horns looked before they grew in. "T-shirt" -- girl im so sorry about your booba "Eligori's new clothes" -- I thought about Eligori's design, and decided that I didn't like the direction I took his outfit to. There was a reason for it (mostly I wanted to differentiate him from Beriith) but it didn't really work. There's some fun symbolism in this one too, though its so subtle only I get it. "Swap" -- What lf Beriith was an elf and Val was… whatever demon species Beriith is. I... kinda… hate how naked Beriith looks without his horns, and Val is giving me “smurfette as succubus” so that sucks also. The only thing I like is that this would be a pretty fun height difference. Absolutely cursed otherwise, though. "Portrait" -- Portrait of Val for her toyhou.se profile. Literally just included this to fill some space. "Argument" -- Beriith and Val both can get pretty argumentative when pushed. Beriith isn't even hard to push into an argument; there are things he's very opinionated about, he is... weird about being told what to do, and he rarely cares about being polite, soooo.... Val generally tries to play nice longer than Beriith would, but she has her limits, and once she reaches said limits, she gets super snarky and verbally aggressive. "Gift" -- When Val was a child, she used to idolize her aunt, like, a lot. Her aunt was a cool archmage who dared to speak against their family's shitty expectations, and even as a young child Val realized that was what she also wanted to be. Her aunt eventually distanced herself from their family, and ceased all contact, but before she left, she gave Val one of her hair ribbons as a gift. Val has treasured it ever since, and to this day, over 20 years later, she still ties her hair with it. "Pears" -- There is a specific pear cultivar that mainly grows around the region Beriith lived in before.... shit happened, and he became the world-traveling bodyguard-for-hire he is now. The pear is known for it sour taste that requires cooking to become sweet, and them raw is something of an acquired taste. Sometimes Beriith comes across them and can't help but get one, and feel just a bit more hollow inside as he is reminded of everything he has lost. He doesn't even like the flavor. It's just emotional self-harm, really.

Love the Sonic movies or hate them I think the most important part about them regardless is that they bring Sonic as a whole into the popular mainstream. Ultimately creating more content and merchandise for the franchise.
As a kid/teen that was OBSESSED with Sonic even though the games and comics were popular enough it still was a rather niche fandom.
Merchandise was hard to find which always made me incredibly heartbroken, and the few pieces of merch that I could get my hands on were plain T-shirts or shitty quality plushies that I treasured.
Not only that, the fandom itself wasn’t as accepted either, I can’t tell you how many times I got mocked for liking Sonic or gotten the odd looks and disappointed eye rolls from my family, which ultimately made me distance myself from the fandom all together as I got older.
And that’s not even getting into the online space surrounding the fandom as a whole, the mocking, the harassment, and bullying of young artists for committing the atrocious sin of making -gasp- mary-su ocs and -double gasp- shipping them with their favorite canon characters  ‘Shadow the Hedgehog would never!!’ -clutches pearls-
All joking aside it was a shit time to be a kid that liked Sonic, everyone thought you were either cringe or the goddamn fandom antichrist.
I bring this up because in a way the second Sonic movie sparked my interest back into the fandom. The first movie came and went and I couldn’t care less about it, I had moved on from the fandom for years now.
It wasn’t until my sister really wanted me to watch the second movie with her in theaters because she remembered how much I loved sonic that I caved and watched it with low expectations. I know it’s silly, but watching it reminded me of the little things that I loved about Sonic and the fandom behind it, seeing Super Sonic on the big screen really resonated with me and really made me rethink about these characters in a way I haven’t thought of in years.
Now as an adult I can really see the shift in the pop culture surrounding Sonic and it’s mostly because of the popularity of the movies. Now I can find sonic merch essentially anywhere, from the mall, to the grocery store, shit even Amazon has same-day delivery Sonic merch. It’s incredible! I now have the ability to collect all the sonic action figures my teen self would cry over, on top of so much cool stuff out there from stickers, to clothing, to plushes, lamps, stationary supplies, literally anything both fandom made AND official merchandise. My inner child is thriving!
But beyond that, the effect of these movies resonating with kids just creates a whole new love for these characters. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve overheard kids in the mall talk about sonic and sonic characters with genuine excitement and have somebody else join in the excitement from their peers to their parents, its really heartwarming to see honestly.
I hesitantly wore one of my Sonic shirts to work expecting some snarky comments from my coworkers about me liking Sonic, only to have them respond in excitement from ‘omg Shadow? I love him he’s so cool!’ To ‘omg my kids LOVE Sonic and are so obsessed with him!’ which genuinely took me aback at the sheer positivity of it all and the great conversations I’ve had with people over it rather than being joked on.
All this to say is that I understand the autistic hyper fixation on certain pieces of media and characters in general (trust me I love the Archie comics but looking at KP’s new work literally gives me psychic damage and I avoid it like the plague) but you have to realize that Sonic at the end of the day is a franchise its not just one thing, and in regards to the movies they aren’t made for the old school fans they are made FOR CHILDREN, specifically children who don’t know who or what Sonic is. I know it can be hard to forget especially with all the easter eggs and inside jokes for the fandom but these movies are for kiddos to get introduced to Sonic as a whole.
Is there better Sonic media out there? YES. But realistically not everyone has access to the video games, or the comics, or have Netflix to watch a show. While going to the movies is a dying breed its still one of the most accessible ways of getting family entertainment and introducing kids to new stories and new pieces of media. I don’t usually post my thoughts out there but seeing the fandom discourse over the movies just makes my eyes roll. Don’t like the live action stuff? cool totally valid, move on, there’s no need to shit on other people’s fun or ruminate on things you hate.
This fandom already has a sea of creators doing their own projects and storylines with these characters that in my opinion are leagues better than anything canon can come up with.
I like Sonic, I like Sonic merch, I like seeing the excitement of new people coming into the fandom and making their own fun. While I personally hate Sonic interacting in the human world and having human companions (hated it since Sonic X baby) If the movies is what’s keeping the Sonic train alive and thriving fuck it we ball. At the end of the day the movies aren’t made for me they are made to make money  for kids to be entertained.
I personally can’t wait to see Shadow on the big screen regardless, I’m interested to see how they end up adapting his story for the movie. I know in my heart of hearts that’s not the same Shadow I grew up with but honestly Shadow hasn’t been the same since they took away his guns.
Actually none of the characters are the same for each interpretation of their stories from the comics, to the video games, to the big screen they are not the same and I’m at peace with that, its like everything has its own AU and I love multi universe stuff in general.
Ramble over,  just wanted to put some thoughts out there that were rattling on my mind. I get that this is the complaining website but seeing post after post of this discourse feels like there’s a point that is missing, I understand emotional attachment to a franchise but keeping a franchise alive is also a huge plus for the fandom as a whole. More movies fans = more people in the fandom, more people in the fandom means more interest in the content, more interest in the content means more content wether it be in more movies, shows, comics, video games, merch, ect.
I like Sonic content and I want to see more of it. 💙
TLDR: Whether or not you like the sonic movies it keeps Sonic as a franchise alive in the pop culture and ends up creating more content and merchandise in general. The movies themselves aren’t made for diehard fans they are made for this generation of children who are new to the franchise as a whole who probably didn’t have access to the video games or other forms of media to discover Sonic.  I understand the emotional attachment to this franchise and its characters but making post after post complaining about a piece of media you don’t like is generally unproductive and shits on people’s fun unnecessarily. You’ll have a better time cherishing and celebrating the pieces of media or headcanons you love most as opposed to ruminating on things you hate or upset you.

Did another tier list on Zan Evolution Butouden, since I'm more familiar with the game now, and a few new characters have been added since my last one:
(Also I based this one more off my personal ability as the characters, rather than competitive viability. This is because I know nothing about competitive viability and was talking complete nonsense in my last list.)
Tumblr media
Explanations/unrelated ramblings below:
S Tier – My Mains (and just good characters)
Fran and Sinkage are both bosses (and the final two at that), so it's not a surprise that they're tough. I've actually figured out some TODs as Fran against the lower health characters (i.e. Fanhua, Ranmaru and Fran herself), and while Sinkage's Rise Cutter loops no longer work as well, the addition of an elbow drop output from it makes it still a very deadly move.
Ahh, Ciara, my true main... How I love spending two meters to take an enemy's entire healthbar just because they dared to jump in my presence. Her chain grabs are just really satisfying, too, and unlike anything I've seen in any other characters I've had. (and not a full-circle motion in sight!)
A Tier – The ones I'm comfortable with
A few of these characters (Zanryu, Renmia and Jacob) are shoto-like, and therefore quite easy to learn and get good as. They're all still pretty interesting to play in their own ways: Zanryu's got enough extra tools to distance his playstyle from the typical shoto, making him more of an aerial dominator (his Air Nova Strike especially, makes his air play very hard to challenge), and Renmia's moveset is like a fusion of a shoto and Terry Bogard, making her more familiar to play, and a good beginner character.
I feel like, if I gave him more time, Casben could be in S Tier. A lot of his kit feels very powerful (in earlier builds I remember his jumping knee being able to loop into itself very easily), and both of his supers are very good (his handspring is always a very tricky cross-up when the CPU does it, but a complete whiff when I try -_-). The only thing holding him back is that I play more as everyone else, lol.
Taka is in a weird spot, where I feel like he as a character isn't that strong, but my skill can kind of make up for it? I don't know, I've had a tendency to accidentally main low tiers in other games (the first character I picked up in Sm4sh was Little Mac, and I also mained Ganondorf), and with his smaller moveset and limited combo potential, Taka feels like this to me. But I'm actually pretty competent as Taka – he's one of the few characters I can chain both supers into without an OTG, and I win most fights where I play as him.
B Tier – ...I'm okay, I guess.
I know I used to main Fanhua, but the more I play as her, the worse I get, it feels... I think my main struggle are that her Elbow Reach isn't a special move anymore, and that her rekkas don't combo (or I just can't get the timing for them :P).
Ranmaru is a character I wish I was better as, because her moveset seems so cool, but all of her inputs are half-circles, and I play on keyboard half of the time (and I'm inconsistent with half-circles even on controller). She even influenced Uta a bit (Hissatsu Shinobi Cho was very much based on Ranmaru's Elbow Dive – before I played Ranmaru, Uta was going to have "Zan'eichu", which was basically just Andy's Zan'eiken).
C Tier – Yeah... I'm losing this one
wendy I'm so sorry I love your design so much I just can't play charge characters pls don't hate me...
Leo's pretty neat, I guess; his moveset is like a Joe Higashi/Sagat fusion, with an added TC and rekka. I just never really played either of those characters much, so I don't know what to do with him.
D Tier – I have no idea what to do with these people
I've not played as any of these characters much (except for Warsnite), so I'm not at all familiar with their movesets... I tried to fight Zanryu (the person, not the character) as Feng Yun once and got folded in half immediately. I've never even attempted Spike, Antbyte or Ninewave.
I honestly can't believe I used to main Warsnite... His airdash is cool, but he's otherwise the complete opposite of what I usually go for in a character – he's got the smallest moveset in the game (which is okay, I just like having more options), and is the slowest, heaviest character. I've seen him do, like, one cool combo, and even then; it was the CPU doing it on me, and it spent one meter for damage I can outmatch with Fanhua for zero.

Tumblr media
I got bored and felt that I needed some quick art motivation before I was stuck with writing based work (Profiles for Hunter Butterfly and course work). I then saw @theblacksunking's new Replica character Jayleen and I was like "Hey, lets make a quick Replica OC!"
So here she is, this is Nia who managed to leave her old life behind and create her own identity. The person who took her in to be their daughter is known as Dr Zupan, a woman who could never have children of her own. She did lose the memory of her original name and Replica number due to damage but she is generally uncaring about it as she wants to distance herself from her origins as much as possible. She has a drastic design change to create her own idenity although there were some aspects she couldn't control such as her scars and robotic abilities. In terms of robotic abilities, she is very limited in comparison to Jinmay and the other Replicas since it was a very risky procedure to restoring her but she has leaned to compensate with martial arts skills and her own weapons.
Personality wise she is a very likeable character. Despite her rough past, she is very outgoing and has very chill vibe to her, Nia has a habit of being forwards when around people she likes and can get very protective of those she has grown attached to. She is far more clever than what she gives herself create for since her habit is to act friendly but keeps a cautious head around new people to see if they truly friends or if they are secretly foes. She is very emotionally vulnerable but is reluctant to talk about it since she hates the idea of burdening people with her problems, this is mainly seen about her past being the topic as Nia can be uncharacteristically angry as she doesn't want anything to do with it.
Relationship wise she became close to her adopted mother very quickly and sees her as more of a parental figure than Scrapperton and Maezono, the bridge between her and Scrapperton is something that really needs to be fixed but she doesn't want to. Her and Chiro's relationship is very much a big sister-little brother relationship, she's always been surrounded by girls/sister so for her it was nice to have a brother/a male family figure instead. The two are very similar so they would naturally get along. Nia's relation with the monkeys is very positive, they get along and she easily meshes with them as she has at least two things in common with them to easily hang out at anytime. Nia is sadly uncomfortable around Jinmay because of her origins as a Replica, she doesn't want to be compared to the original despite her hiding her past really well. Nia knows that Jinmay is an ally and intends to keep it that way. She shares the same enemies as the Hyperforce team despite not being involved with them that long, any evil is an evil that needs to be stopped.
A part of her design and character/personality were based on Binjay because I thought she was cool.
I really enjoyed creating her and I might use her for something else, of course rewriting her so that she isn't a Replica. I'll use her for a different series for 'Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!' but I'm not sure, at most it will probbaly be art to better explore her character.

I got a question :D!
Based on the new portrait of X, I assume the aliens from Nion 8 (if that’s still the same!) look more human now? Is that right? Because you nailed it on the head with the Tim Burton-human-character look you described!
Has X changed quite a bit now in terms of personality as well :o? I’m really into how design impacts the character since a lot can be conveyed based on appearances, so I’m really curious! Especially since previously the look of X really hit the “out-of-this-world”, strong, intimidating appearance that you just know to not mess with (monster lovers and fuckers, we rise), whereas now the aliens of Nion 8/X might be underestimated with the gaunt appearance if they still have the same physical strength which would be a really cool thing to explore and might hit that kind of uncanny valley territory humans might experience with a species that appears similar to humans (at least in comparison to previous designs), but clearly aren’t that they previously lacked since they used to look very “not-human, cannot be mistaken from a distance as one”, which is also a really cool concept to explore! Even more so since some humans are really sensitive to the uncanny valley phenomenon, hence why some people have a phobia of dolls/mannequin last I heard! So I wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few humans get severely anxious and avoidant of the aliens and X more so because of that now, which potentially provides some really interesting dynamics!
Sorry for the paragraph, as I said, I really like seeing how the appearance of a character can change how they’re perceived and was super curious!
Hi sunshine!
You've got a question; I've got an answer!
You have some really thoughtful insight! I'm gonna try to go piece by piece.
X's personality has changed, but not as much as you'd think! You see, my thought process for them was that we already have so many members of the group that are combat oriented, I wanted to add some balance to the group. So I thought about how the military has different "factions" with varying skillsets, and X has been moved from ground-troops to intelligence/security. X is basically a member of the NSA (in layman's terms).
X is still much stronger than a human and should consider a basketball career, but they aren't as skilled in combat/using that strength compared to other soldiers. (which also eases much more seamlessly into how they get into the group in the first place)
You're spot on with the uncanny valley point! I think what scares us as humans the most are the types of monsters that seem so like us? When we watch shows like American Horror Story, the most popular quote that took over the internet is "all monsters are human." We fear what goes against out expectations. We hate the unknown.
The aliens from Nion 8 being so gaunt and tall outside of their armor can give them a slenderman like appearance from afar, and up close, you get a glimpse of those tentacles, horns, forked tail and you're like what the FUCK is that thing? but they walk on two legs, have two eyes, their chest rises and falls in time with their breathing. it makes humans uncomfortable. (and terrified)
Then you have aliens like Delphine that, when they want to, can blend in with humans completely. When they aren't using their powers, you would never know the person in front of you wasn't from Earth. That is a terrifying revelation for the human race, and you'll see that fear play out as MC and the group encounters different groups of humans.
There are some "tests" now that humans can use to determine if someone is an alien (not foolproof, but the lesser skilled/advanced species will get caught). Remember how I mentioned the aliens from Nion 8 established their own societies and kinda left humans alone after their take over? There are still human societies, they're just struggling to stay alive and the world is very desperate to cling to humanity.
So just like they used to take our temperatures before entering any building during the pandemic, the humans do a similar sort of thing before anyone can enter their nightclubs/bars/shops whatever is still around now that the world has gone to shit.
Isn't it fascinating how the human race perseveres through such hardship? Like even in history, we've survived some real fucked up stuff.
Thank you so so much for your question!! I had fun answering it!
All my love,
Cheye

The Chaperone by M. Hendrix
helloooo
so i finished reading the chaperone by m. hendrix and omg i loved it. i love dystopian books so when i saw it at the library i had to get it.
the premise:
basically, it's like the handmaids tale but different. (wow great description). anyway. it's about this girl, stella in new america. in new america, girls have to follow the DANGER method, which is deflect attention, abstain from sin, navigate the world with care, give obedience, embrace purity, and respect your chaperone. the chaperones are women that guide young girls into adulthood and teach them to follow the rules. stella is given a new chaperone that changes her views on life in new america (super cool).
my thoughts (spoilers people):
the world:
the world was so interesting. instead of being like the handmaid's tale, where all of america is using handmaids, it is just new america that has implemented the DANGER rules. i did have some confusion on the geography of old and new america, i didn't exactly understand where they were or if there was a border or anything. it wasn't super clear to me but also i was so excited reading that i may just have missed it! i think what contributed to this confusion was the fact that old america is literally the same as america now, but if new america is so different then wouldn't at least some of that affect old america?
the characters:
i liked stella, she had a lot of growth and i liked seeing that throughout the book. sister laura was interesting, everything she did in the beginning had a meaning in the end and i just loved that. stella's family wasn't super important, but i feel like that was for a reason because she needed to be distanced from them to leave new america, but i wish that her family had a larger role in the story because realistically her family would have a big role in her decision to leave and then eventually come back. especially when she was in old america, it seemed like she didn't miss her family at all, which i thought was a bit odd and unrealistic. same with her friends and almost-boyfriend, they seemed a bit like throwaway characters just there to fill some gaps in the story.
the story:
i loved the story. i read the handmaid's tale and i liked it, but i didn't exactly love it. i felt like some parts were a bit unrealistic because it didn't really take into account class disparity and how women/people with more money would have a very different fate than women/people without money. other than a brief mention of the econo-wives, it didn't really mention it. but in this book, money and class disparity is a very big part of the story, which i liked. i found it realistic. like if this were to happen in real life, it wouldn't affect the rich the same way it would affect the poor. the story had a bunch of twists that i wasn't expecting. i mentioned before with sister laura how everything she did had a purpose, that amazed me. i love when books do that. i thought the DANGER rules were so interesting, and since the books were told from stella's point of view, who is a teenager, you can see what the school is like and what interactions she was allowed to have with her male classmates, which was super cool.
the end:
ughhhh i liked the end but also hated it. i liked that she decided to go back in the end but i felt like the ending was kind of open ended. she wanted to follow in sister laura's footsteps, but stopped there. it didn't say what she was planning to do or go into any detail of what happened after or what kind of affect she had. i do have this need for an ending though, like when i watched smile i was so mad because wdym they don't kill the demon in the end? so open ended endings aren't my thing, i need to know what happens, and i didn't get that but that's okay. other than that, I loved it.
rating:
9/10: amazing loved it so great need a second book

Star Wars Masterlist (NEW)
Tech:
There’s no reason to be sad - Tech x GNReader
Have a load of trash, think of it as a sequel of sorts to Starlit Night. It can also stand as its own thing, there's no real connection between the two and its mainly just me rambling. Enjoy!
Feelings - Tech x GNReader
A little story of how tech and the reader first meet. Like love at the first sight or something :3 idk maybe Tech a bit at a distance because he cannot classify these new feelings and so the reader thinks he hates (Y/N)
A beeping feeling - Tech x GNReader
A sitcom reality: Tech x Female reader
If you can tell where I stopped writing this then recently got back into it, extra brownie points for you. Enjoy this crap!
Why did you go? - Tech x GNReader
New trailer just dropped and I'm sad.
Howdy everyone, today I offer you a new Tech fic...mayhaps even a series? I was very much inspired by Wandavision but the plot doesn't really fit with the show so you don't have to worry about that. Hope you enjoy and perhaps want more because I have some cool ideas for this series if it goes ahead!
Part 1. Part 2. Part 3. Part 4.
Sober suspicions - Tech x GNReader
Woah, I actually released a fic on Tech Tuesday, I swear that never happens? Anyway, have this crappy excuse of a story! Would anyone like to see a part 2 for this because I've got some ideas in mind?
Drunk confidence - Tech x GNReader
Okay, so here's part 2 to Drunken Confidence! Hope you all enjoy it and let me know if you want more Tech content!
Infested - Tech x Female reader
Howdy, so this is pretty long and essentially took me all day to do so have fun reading it! It's entirely based on today's episode, lucky number 13, so definite spoilers lie ahead! Enjoy!
Coffee run - Tech x GNReader
Howdy, another Tech fic because I love him. Also, I'm probably not the first person that said it, but I totally called that no one could drive the ship unless they read like all the manuals and knew how to fix it, I totally said Tech would be the kinda guy to do that and I think it's pretty funny how it's kinda confirmed in the latest episode. Anyway, without further ado, the new fic. Enjoy!
Singer in a smokey room - Tech x Female reader
Okay so I've had this idea for a fic before but never got around to writing it, and I'm super obsessed with this song and the movie it came from; it's one of my fav movies ever made. It's a little long but probably worth it, if you know the movie I'm referencing leave a comment below! Enjoy!
A baby for hire - Tech x GNReader
"Keep up, wouldn't want you getting lost now would we?" he bartered, flicking his head in your direction. He caught your harsh gaze, trying hard to hold back a smile at the state of your hair.
Starlit night - Tech x GNReader
I'm not going to lie, I really just wanted to write a Tech fic but had literally no ideas for it so have this garbage. Enjoy!
Good soldiers - Tech x GNReader
Oh mi gosh guys I actually did it! Somehow I managed to write it all before 10.30, it's a little crap but oh well, I just need more Tech content tbh. Now this is based on episode 7, so definite spoilers for that episode, so read at your own risk. Anyway, let me know if you want more bad batch fics and enjoy!
Flying lessons - Tech x GNReader
Howdy everyone, so I've been wanting to do a Tech fic since I first saw episode one of the new series. Now I will admit I haven't seen season 7 of clone wars, I'm actually only up to season 3, so I'm a little scared if I've messed anything up; but I'm sure you'll tell me! Hopefully, I'll get more confident in writing for these characters, until then, enjoy!
Hunter:
In the past - Hunter X GNReader
You calmed down your excited breathing, but couldn't knock the smile from your face "I couldn't help but wonder if I was in the correct location of Clone Force 99?" Your hands were folded behind your back, but Hunter could hear the creaking of the clipboard, felt how tightly your fingers were gripping the plastic.
The Mandalorian:
The waiting game - Mando/Din Djarin x GN Reader
Book of Boba spoilers - episode five and six.
Dream a little dream of me - Mando/Din Djarin x GN Reader
I was listening to this song and this oneshot idea just came to me and I had to write it down as soon as I could. I'm actually really proud of this and it's currently one of my favourite oneshots I've ever written so I really hope you enjoy it!
Cockpit silence - Mando/Din Djarin x GN Reader
So this is my first StarWars oneshot so be easy on me, also I've been obsessing over The Mandalorian recently and Pedro Pascal as a whole so enjoy this oneshot and If it's good expect more to come!

12 YEAR OLD OCS; SIDE B
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Drake Blue [@silveredcircuitry] (she/her)
I was OBSESSED with Drake for like. several years. I drew her so much. Funnily enough though she was never the main protagonist, generally serving the role of "the narrator's best/first friend who knows magic in this urban fantasy setting". She was the extroverted, knowledgeable, tomboyish foil to my various introverted, new-to-this, vaguely feminine self-inserty protagonists I wrote. Her full first name is Dracanea or something but no iteration of her is terribly fond of it. She also for some reason used an abbreviation of her last name in early versions (I guess to either sound less pretentious or blend in) but eventually i just made Blue her actual last name upon understanding nobody does that.
She's half dragon on her mother's side, giving her an array of abilities that shifted a bit depending on whether I felt like including them. These almost always included superhuman strength and resilience, flight, and some flavor of pyrokinesis. She has wings that she could shapeshift away in some iterations but her flight is more magic channeled through having her wings out than actually using them properly. Also sometimes fangs which I rarely drew on her. Generally not great at the magic in the setting but not so much catastrophically terrible so much as she just. doesn't use magic that often.
She fucking hated dresses and preferred to wear whatever was comfortable and easy to climb/run/fly/fight/do whatever else in. I have one drawing of her burning a bunch of dresses and other girly accessories and I genuinely cannot tell if this was me characterizing her as a TomboyTM, just part of my "let's be feminist in the most cliche ways possible because i have unresolved issues and all the boys in my class bully me" phase, or Indicative of Something TM. Or like. All three.
She was a whole bunch of things kid-me thought was cool, but not in what seems to be the usual way. She wasn't someone I wanted to BE so much as someone I wanted to be friends with. Strong in a lot of ways that I was weak in, and I think having more distance between her and myself than the aforementioned dozens of self-inserts helped get me more obsessed with her. ALSO one of my earliest developed non-insterting-an-existing-person-or-character-into-the-story OCs.
she also made it into my very dead webcomic that i will not share a title or too too much information about besides the fact that i made her slightly terrible at hiding her powers and also in a lopsided rivalry with a sorceror who keeps trying to beat her in a fight just to prove he can. He doesn't actually succeed ever and she is increasingly annoyed with him especially once he dragged someone else into it. She could shove him in a locker and he would not be able to stop her.
Max D. Rose [@therealsirsticker] (she/her)
I did make when I was 12, she’s a demon who attends a demon boarding school and is an orphan who was raised in the human realm and believed she was human. She’s like. 16 I think. I still have like pages of old comics I made of it, I can send those in if you want lol.anyways shes half plant demon and half fire demon and plant demons are Rare and Almost Extinct. Oh and of course like all demons she has a super powered up form because I was really into Naruto at the time. She’s gay with her roommate.
