The Last to Leave

AU where Oro joins Tsunade in leaving Konoha post the 2nd Shinobi war, rather than getting with Danzo and terrible experiments and such. More info under the cut

I was partially inspired by this wonderful Tsunade centric fic, and thought about how Tsunade, even in grief, channeled it into something productive. In this case, I thoroughly enjoy the idea of her creating a whole new system/organisation that prioritises saving lives/improving wellbeing. And the only way to do that is to leave the system of militaristic shinobi villages.

In this au, Oro decides to join her as head researcher, and the two go on to set up their own ways of doing things I guess???? Idk. But yeah, it kinda kills my soul to think about how the Sannin, if banded together and away from Konoha, could cause a paradigm shift in the Shinobi world, with Tsunade at the helm rejecting the shinobi way of life.

Jiraiya isn’t here because.. it kinda sucks that it’s canon??? That Dan dies sometime after he decides to stay in Ame. sdlkjfgsd. The trio is all toxic, but I think this AU’s tsuna is less so and her and oro keep each other in check.

Katsuki is trying—FUCK, he really is fucking trying not to make a sound, but it's way more difficult than what people think.

And when he hears the door to the hallway open, he immediately reacts covering his bed and himself, bringing the covers almost to his naked chest. He grabs a book that is in his nightstand and he pretends to the best of his ability to be immerse in reading that stupid book.

Two knocks to the door of his room can be heard and he fakingly sighs in annoyance as he says, "come in".

The distinctive red hair of his roommate appears first before his face, "Everything alright, man?" Kirishima smiles.

Katsuki rolls his eyes in real annoyance this time before replying a simple yes. He feels a thick drop of nervous sweat rolling down behind his neck that he is very skilled to hide by simply scratching the back of his neck, but it seems Eijirou hasn't noticed yet. The blond is very proud to admit that he is good at hiding. Stuff. And emotions.

The red head nods before saying, "Hey, Y/N is coming over for dinner. I don't want to bother you, but do me a favor? Be sweet to her. She kinda has a crush on you."

Katsuki pulls up an eyebrow, looking as oblivious as he can, "Oh, really? I had no idea..."

Eijirou rolls his eyes at his best friend, "Of course you didn't. You of all people wouldn't know even if she confessed right at your face."

Katsuki doesn't answer back.

"Anyway, I'm going out to buy some groceries. Need something?"

"Nope," he answers, his attention back to the book he is actually not reading. Eijirou nods as he closes the door again and walks out.

Katsuki doesn't dare to move until he actually hears the front door of the apartment open and close. And that's when he can't avoid the snort that it's stuck at his throat, waiting for desperate release. Next to him, the covers finally move as you peak from under them, frowning in annoyance at him.

"Shut the fuck up," you protest, your hair tangled all around, cheeks cutely rosy and sweat obviously thanks to the thick covers. He can't help but laugh out loud. "It's not funny!"

John is skilled in many things, most being steering clear of big crowds and handling insanely dangerous weapons, but trying to handle two mugs of hot coffee while shooing the pup away is becoming... a task. He climbs the stairs and makes it to your shared room. The door is open slightly, and he catches you sitting in front of your vanity. Small vials, dried florals, makeup palettes littered all over. He doesn't know what half of it is, but he knows it smells like vanilla and lavender. It smells like you. Your eyes catch his, and he smiles as you bubble over with giggles, "Hey, you. Let me help." John nods and leans down to kiss the tip of your nose. "Watch me put on my makeup?" He smiles and says, "Of course."

He watches as you mingle with his acquaintances, your laugh infectious and distinctive. He notices how the younger men look you over and a small spark of jealousy gnaws at him, but he knows it's ridiculous. "Are you alright?" John is startled by your voice and nods quickly, "I'm alright, yeah." You know he isn't, so you grab his hand and lead him outside for some fresh air. "What's wrong?" "May I join you?" You nod and make room. The volume of the television is set low and it starts to lull John to sleep, but before his eyes completely close, he looks over at you. Your eyes set on the rom-com and your hand intertwined with his. "You okay?" You ask him, placing a soft kiss on his forehead. John sighs and closes his eyes, "Yes. Perfectly okay here with you."

okay okay im finally finished with both eps and here's my genuine opinion

the cast is 10/10, every single one of these kids knows exactly what they're doing and WHO they are, i can't imagine anyone playing each character better than them

the slight change in Sally and gabe's dynamic gave me a bit of whiplash at first, but the second time watching it, i kinda really dig it better than the books

the way they're portraying percy's feelings of inadequacy and the whole "i know I'm broken, i don't need you to make up stories for me"? fucking devastating, but it fits so fucking well (i can't remember if this is shown as deeply as it's shown here)

sally jackson is the most badass mfer and i fucking love her she is the godly parent fuck poseidon

LOVED how they gave us the impression of percy having riptide while facing the minotaur, only for them to take it away (not really but percy didn't know that) and having percy face the minotaur book style rather than movie style

i am fucking loving the way they're doing percy's rage, like maybe it's bc i don't remember it as clearly in the books, but it's so raw, and walker does an amazing job portraying it, but the whole part where he offers food (a thing meant to be for gods) to SALLY, king behavior fr, and that monolog about making his father see them?? actual goosebumps

leah does such an amazing job portraying annabeth's indifference and apparent arrogance, i can't explain how much i love her, like she does it so subtly, it's just little gestures, but she IS annabeth chase (this felt especially cooler after seeing her in interviews, where she's actually really shy irl)

im not going to lie here, and like im sure it was done on purpose anyway, but i am feeling it kinda rushed, and I get it really! they won't waste time in the many chapters spent during camp introducing the world to us, when they've got few episodes, and the whole quest to showcase instead, but like, i would have loved to see percy training with luke (and besting him) and annabeth showing percy around camp (second time we've missed that) and idk just some fun little details, but like i said, i understand why they HAD to rush the intro, so I'm not upset about it or disappointed, just smth to notice

having said that, i really did love the bit of luke guiding percy through several activities trying to figure out his "calling", the callback to percy's horrible archery skills is 10/10

annabeth's yankees cap is fr a yankees cap and im crying

i nearly forgot, but im loving the nightmare sequences, i love how they're keeping the "voice" so faceless and shapeless, but just a light in the darkness of a nightmare, and really it's a great figure, bc a light in a nightmare is usually a good thing, it's the thing you run towards, and it's usually smth that helps you, but here, the light in the darkness is anything but good (quite literally) and he literally taunts percy, and fuels his fear and bitterness, and ugh I love it

the whole capture the flag sequence is 10/10 as well, i can't explain how much this healed me, just like annabeth leaving percy to be bored to death on his own, when she was right there, the transition between luke's "percy's got this" and percy doing the fucking floss dance? cinematic masterpiece, and like the fight sequence was really well done and crafted much much better than many others that rely on slow mo or weird angles, like the fight with clarisse and her spear was gold

dior's scream as percy breaks clarisse's spear alone deserves an emmy

leah portrays annabeth so effortlessly and naturally, I've said it before but i love her

like idk i think ushijima wouldn't really know what to do with shirabu when they first meet in their second and first years. quiet upperclassman who is occasionally a jerk but mostly does not mean to be and his equally quiet underclassman who IS a jerk and DOES mean to be. they'd be so fucking funny together. they back each other up in ways they don't even realize. they could leave entire crowds in tears on accident

actually . . . the poor third years back then who had to deal with this first year they thought was quiet and composed and unassuming and totally chill. but was, in fact, completely unchill

shirabu's gone to bat for every single member of the team at some point btw. soekawa ushijima reon yamagata semi tendou etc etc. none of them have ever witnessed it though word just gets passed around to them like shirabu is some honor-defending ninja who only works in the shadows

The screams and shouts of joyful children ring throughout Uramichi's ears, as he forcibly stretches his smile beyond what he thought was even possible. It's not like he doesn't want to be smiling, but when it's part of the job description, it doesn't feel that fun anymore. It's not like the children hadn't noticed it too; the dark circles of tiredness under his eyes, fitted with his pale complexion, it was no surprise that Uramichi had started being nicknamed 'Panda Bear' by the TV station president's grandson; it's just a shame that his co-workers started calling him that too.

"Nice work today, Mr Panda!"

The grating sound of Derekida's voice: not exactly what he wants to hear right now.

"Now, go over to the Prep Room, we need you to star in the new segment next week, and we need to measure you for the pig costume!"

A pig? Of all things?

As Uramichi walks to the Prep Room, only the worst scenarios run through his mind. Is the pig costume multicoloured? Will I have to wear a snout? Will I have to walk on my hands and feet for the entire segment? Will I have to do gymnastics in the costume?

That's when he hears rustling, and the sound of a phone video recording starting.

He unlocks the door, scanning the room, making sure there aren't any theives; not that anything that comes out of Hanabee's mind is worth stealing...

He catches sight of you, panning the phone camera across the set pieces, costumes and props.

"Hey..." he says.

You jolt a little, ending the recording, and turning around.

"You can't film here." His expression isn't exactly one of strong conviction, but he's suspicious of you nonetheless.

You slip your phone back into your pocket and say "I know, I'm sorry, my kid just really loves 'Together with Maman', so I wanted to show him some of the things that we made for next week's segment."

His face softens a bit at your explanation, before his eyes fall onto the pig costume; and it drops again.

"...you made this...?" You can hear the tiredness in his voice: he's not looking forward to next week.

You let out a pathetic giggle, sympathizing with his dislike towards the - certainly interesting - design.

"Well, it was initially meant to look like this,", you show Uramichi a sketchpad with an array of concept designs, "but Hanabee was screaming about how "It's Wrong!" or "You need to do it again!", so this is the result of the last 5 days of overtime.".

Uramichi flips through the pages of the sketchpad; obviously, it's a pig costume, one design can't be that much better than the other, but your sketches showed real skill.

"These, are actually good." Uramichi says, turning page after page of the sketchpad, looking at previous rejected designs.

You smile, happy to meet someone who genuinely appreciates your efforts. "Thanks." You start walking over to your bags and begin packing.

Curious to learn a little more about somebody on the team with actual talent, he asks you a question.

"You said you've been working overtime, is your husband watching your kid right now?"

"Oh, we're not married anymore, but my ex-husband is looking after him until next Monday."

"Oh- I'm sorry." Uramichi is a little shaken, afraid he's just asked a personal question, or maybe reminded you of something you didn't want to remember.

You've heard it all before, so this really doesn't bother you.

"Don't worry about it, our split was amicable.", you smile at him reassuringly.

He smiles back, eased by your kindness.

"I'm glad to hear that." he replies.

But. It's a little awkward now. Neither of you feel like you can just leave after that. So.

Suddenly, Mr Derekida bursts in, marvelling at the different costumes and props, followed by Edei, who tells him to "Calm down."

You take this as your cue to leave, waving at Uramichi, who does the same, before walking out.

Edei walks up to Uramichi with a smirk on his face.

"...Did I do something?" Uramichi asks, genuinely confused.

Edei's brows shift in confusion, "You mean, they didn't say anything?"

"Say what?"

"Y/N? They said nothing to you?"

"Well, we spoke, but it was like 1 minute."

Edei sighs in disappointment.

"You didn't hear this from me, but," Edei lowers his voice as to not allow Mr Derekida to eavesdrop.

"I overheard Y/N talking to Tadano the other day. They've got the hots for you man."

Rambling some more about that one Kai au I've been thinking about lately

First of all, I'm thinking about calling this the "Scorched Au" since it sounds cool and also as a reference to the term "Scorched Earth" since that describes Kai very well in this au

So one part of the au is that the others all think Kai is dead because how could he have survived the volcano erupting? And again, Kai didn't unlock his true potential so they never saw him safely fly out of the volcano afterwards. Kai also lays low for a while. He takes some inspiration from Nya when she became Samurai X and decides to hide his identity, so even if the ninja run into him they don't recognize him at first.

Kai still uses the sword of fire but he also uses the fangblade that he's continued holding onto since managing to grab it before it fell in the lava. And he obviously still has his spinjitzu and normal hand-to-hand combat skills. He sort of goes around doing "vigilante justice" when in reality he's just sort of beating up anyone who gets in his way.

One other idea I thought of is Kai messing around with dark magic. One thing that he focuses a lot on is what more he needs to do to unlock his true potential, and his main belief is simply that he isn't strong enough. So he ends up teaching himself dark magic with a spell book he stole from some library or something like that (I haven't fully decided yet) And it's through the dark magic that he learns to "control fire" though it's not the same as if he were using his elemental powers. He basically learns a bunch of fire spells to make up for the fact that he hasn't unlocked his true potential. This also manages to fool the others into thinking Kai DID unlock his true potential even though it's just dark magic.

I also haven't thought of a name for Kai when he's going undercover since he should probably have one. I know I could just go with "Red Shogun" since that's already a name he's given himself, but idk I feel like that name doesn't really fit the design I've been working on. The design is more of a rogue type thing. I thought of something like the Scorched Shinobi since shinobi is just another word for ninja and it also fits with the au name but idk if I've fully settled on that just yet (though I am becoming fond of it)

And one more thing that I almost forgot to mention is Nya since she's pretty important to this au. So obviously Kai is pretty mad at the other ninja, but the only person he doesn't actively attack or threaten is Nya since despite everything that happened, she's still his little sister. And one other idea I had revolving around Nya is that since Kai ran off to go be evil, Master Wu decides that it's probably best to tell Nya about her water powers now and train her in them instead of waiting until season 5 to do so. Idk that just made sense to me and it might also cause Kai to spiral a bit more because he already had to deal with the fact that Nya doesn't need him anymore because of the whole Samurai X stuff. But now finding out that she has elemental powers as well would not help with his whole situation of feeling like the team never needed him and that he wasn't worthy. Idk I feel like I'm just spit balling at this point now

But anyway, this was sort of just aimless ramblings from me. Even if this doesn't become a main-stay au for my blog, I still wanna write my ideas somewhere for people to read.

Hisoka, Illumi, Kurapika react to their s/o asking for a fight

Hisoka

Why would you entertain him? He's obviously going to agree and then likely decimate you

Sure, even if you may be a strong nen user, he's extremely skilled with Bungee Gum it will be a difficult fight. Not to mention he can get carried away and kill you

Your hot-tempered self might have caused this, but he might have pushed you to your limit just to ask for a fight. He might have been planning this who knows

Overall, it's not a good idea to fight with him no matter what. His reaction will be too positive honestly

Illumi

The complete opposite of Hisoka, as he doesn't want to fight you. Why? He doesn't see the point. The Zoldycks aren't supposed to kill random people (though he does this on a regular basis?)

He will give you a few warnings, and if you don't stop he might just stick a needle in your head and make you stop. It might do permanent damage to your brain but if you make it out alive, you might not think of doing that ever again

If he does fight with you, expect it to end really quickly. He doesn't like carrying fights longer than they should be, and because of this he won't entertain you much

Similar to Chrollo and Hisoka, don't fight him :/. He might knock you out and just leave you on a couch or so and go about his business, or if you happen to have been absolutely irritating then he might, well, stab you really hard with a needle.

Kurapika

Unlike the others, he's surprisingly nicer when it comes to you asking for a fight. He's like Chrollo, and will try to calm you down without throwing fists

He doesn't want to fight you, though he knows his nen ability won't be any use when it comes to fighting. However he can get really heated in a fight, to the point where he won't really remember what happened when he was seeing red. Kurapika doesn't want to fight you like this, and because of this will resort to talking to you instead

Even if you are hot-headed, he will attempt to calm you down. If Melody is there then Melody might just take it in her own hands to stop the situation from spilling haha

If the two of you do fight, don't expect to make it out unscathed. The Kurta are known to be strong fighters, and Kurapika definitely fits that. He will apologize profusely if you two end up fighting.

I think MC and Cove would be like that too! They have a special bond, no matter what. I'm glad you liked those specific ones though, I was nervous about it! Here's a few more :) -- When you move to a house, you have at least one nosy neighbor who is desperate to figure out what's going on. Baxter mows the lawn and he's out in his special little outfit tending to the garden and then Derek is outside too, working on the roof or building some new addition, so maybe they're together. But then Cove comes out and eats stuff that Baxter hands him from the garden, so maybe they're the couple. But Cove also helps Derek build stuff? And you're there too with your skills and hobbies? What does it all mean?

-- FOUR PLAYER MARIO KART. Baxter got Derek a Switch for his birthday, Cove got some games and you got enough controllers for everybody. Derek is the best. Cove may or may not stay up late for a bit after you get the new setup so he can hold his own in the game.

-- Really just a lot of Baxter having visions for the house, Derek executing them, and Cove being a big boy who can help lift stuff and help out wherever he's needed.

-- You and Baxter bake cakes for the birthdays. It's your special thing.

-- Everybody has to go skinny dipping at least once and that's final.

-- Derek wants a dog. Baxter wants a cat. Cove has his fish. It is a conundrum. But Derek does his research and finds a breed that will fit in well with your lifestyle that is also known to be good with cats so that everyone can be happy.

-- Baxter is fine if his cat is a jerk though, he thinks it's funny.

-- You have to keep an eye on Baxter though because he might start "finding" cats.

Baxter, holding a stray like it is the most precious treasure on earth (it is): The poor thing was all alone and frightened, what would you have had me do?

Cove, cat-proofing his fish tank again: Literally anything else.

-- Derek pumps the gas. If you have to do it, then he failed.

-- If you're all together, Cove will run inside the station while Derek pumps for snacks. Memorizing everyone's favorite snacks is one of Cove's love languages.

Baxter: I don't want anything, Cove.

Cove: Ok. *comes back a few minutes later with sour gummies, hands them to Baxter*

-- If you all decide to get married, like if everybody loves everybody like that, then Baxter is going to have a lot of feelings about it, obviously.

-- What would probably make the most sense is for you and Cove to get legally married and then for Derek and Baxter to get legally married as well. You and Cove go way back, and Derek and Baxter have a special bond as well.

-- But you can't have weddings for these, it'll just be a paper deal to cover everyone. The actual wedding has to be a ceremony with all four of you. Baxter would feel very strongly about this, so that no one is excluded, and so this is how it'll have to go.

-- Baxter plans it too, of course. Derek does everything he can to help, he keeps asking Baxter what he can do. That boy would bake the cake if Baxter asked him (Xavier will make the cake, don't worry). Meanwhile, Cove is like "Yay, wedding!"

-- Another thing is that I think Thanksgiving would be important for this lil gang. Baxter likes it because it's the Fall Holiday, and fall is his favorite. He cooks, too -- it might take him a few years, but he's going to get the hang of that turkey, don't worry. Derek likes the thought of everyone being thankful, it makes him feel cozy. Cove likes to eat. It's a good time!

• Shroodle -> Grafaiai (Mephie! It's a poison type! Yay experiments!)

I'm so fascinated by Andor's relationship to stuff. Like. Objects. Material things. Objects have always been important in Star Wars, not least because (iirc) toy sales were George Lucas's main source of income off the OT, and in later years many official Star Wars works were made by fans who take part in both curative and creative fandom. So you get stuff like lightsabers and holochrons and beskar which all have this sense of intrinsic value. A lightsaber is a powerful weapon but it's also a lightsaber. Beskar is good armor but it's also beskar.

And Andor not only doesn't do that, it actively refuses it at every opportunity. It goes out of its way not to give objects intrinsic value.

Like, okay, the Starpath unit that Cassian tries to sell to Luthen. It's auseful tool, and it says a lot about Cassian's skill. But it gets very conspicuously left behind. It comes up again as something Dedra uses to trace the movement of materials between rebel cells, but it isn't important in itself.

Or like the boots on Narkina 5. There's a very meaningful shot of Cassian taking note of where the boots are. They're continually used as a symbol of power in the prison. Characters are often introduced by their feet (less weird than it sounds): their social position, expressed through whether or not they have boots, is the first and most important thing about them. And then, in the breakout, they don't even come up. They were ignored so thoroughly that personally I didn't even notice they were being ignored until the A More Civilized Age podcast pointed it out. The objects which contain imperial power turn out to be impotent. Meaningless.

And this happens again and again - Luthen's kyber crystal, Paak's radio, Nemik's navigation device. All of them mean something, but none of them carries inherent meaning the way objects do in other Star Wars properties, or even just in fiction generally. There's no macguffin here. Even the Aldhani heist isn't some rare or valuable object, it's just plain old money.

And yet, despite this (and in a way that's somehow not contradictory), Andor remains a show that's DEEPLY invested in material culture. Nemik's navigation device, for instance, is not an important thing that Cassian carries with him forever and saves his life a million times because it's just that good - but Nemik does use it to do exactly what he intended to do with it, and that saves the crew. The anvil on Ferrix isn't made of some special metal, but it's important because of what its sound means to the people who live there.

idk it's just really striking to me. There's this deliberate and repeated message that objects aren't inherently important, but they are important in the context of people. Stuff is important when people use it and care about it and connect to each other through it. It's such a unique aspect of the storytelling in this show and it fits so beautifully with the other themes of solidarity and insurrection.

thoughts i need to get written down so they'll stop bouncing around in my skull and let me live:

stede and ed are, at the heart of them, pretty similar, yes? in a lot of the ways that matter. similar enough that when they start getting to know each other, taking a peek past the outward differences, it's easy for them to slip into a comfortable familiarity because there's this unconscious "oh, hello, i recognize you" sort of vibe.

but what i keep thinking about is the envy that's layered on top of that. for both of them. because i just. it's so fucking interesting how their self-image clashes with how they're seen by each other. they both have this soft underbelly, a love of comfort and fine things, they both feel everything so deeply. but they handle it so differently.

stede's always been someone who's incapable of hiding who he is. not because he's particularly confident about it, he's not flaunting, he just doesn't have the tools to craft any kind of disguise. he learns all these social rules and tries so hard to follow them but people still see through him and he doesn't have the people skills to know why or how. so he doesn't have any other choice but to be himself.

meanwhile ed hides so much of himself i'm not sure he even realizes he's doing it half the time. it's second nature. and he sees stede going around just. doing whatever the fuck he wants basically, telling the whole fucking world that he's soft and emotional, an whether he's doing it on purpose or not, ed is deeply in awe of that because it's something he's never been able to do.

but at the same time stede wants to be able to mask like that. he wants to know what it's like to fit in and he sees ed's ability to perform masculinity as something enviable. ("if i could just be like blackbeard, i'd give all this away" like. ouch.) i don't think he really sees how miserable it makes ed because he can't see past his own jealousy. he can't comprehend ed wanting to be like him because his whole life he's been a walking target and he doesn't get why anyone would want that. he's been told over and over again how undesirable his way of being is.

idk i'm just stuck on stede being someone who didn't have a choice in how the world sees him. he's not being himself because he's brave or self-assured, he's just not good at masking. probably part of why he's so fucking horrified when ed shaves and stops being blackbeard completely. he doesn't see his own vulnerability as a good thing, why would he want that for someone he cares about. he doesn't want ed to be a target too.

Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) - Jeremy Jordan

This is it, the entire reason I made this fan cast. Just. Imagine Jeremy Jordan singing Bringin' Back Christmas. The same energy as Ready As I'll Ever Be, and also as The World Will Know from Newsies??? Like, that's barely anything, and he's perfect.

Kimberly (Octavia Spencer) - Khaila Anyé Wilcoxon

Yeah okay I did sadly feel like I needed to slightly de-age Kimberly to match the younger form of Present; my original casting was NaTasha Yvette Williams and she would still slay this so hard, but like. Consistency, ya know? And besides, Khaila is STUNNING, fr; her performance as Catherine of Aragon is a testament to her skills alone, but if you want proof of her ability to sing gently as well as to Belt Like All Hell as she does in Six, then I will just direct you kindly to her role as one of the Fates in Hadestown; girl SLAYS! (Alternate pick: Renée Elise Goldsberry, because I can just HEAR her sing these songs.)

Jacob Marley (Patrick Page) - Patrick Page

I mean. Come on. Even if he hadn't played this role already, he originated Hades in Hadestown. No one can top this guy.

Past (Sunita Mani) - Solea Pfeiffer

Hadestown haunts the cast again, but like, come on. She's so good, no one can tell me no.

Yet-to-Come (Tracy Morgan) - Michael James Scott

IDK something about his energy as Genie just translates really well to this role to me. (Alternatively, the Beetlejuice energy of Alex Brightman would give a REALLY fun twist to it, especially if the director decided to lean into YTC as a comic relief character, but the energy is just off enough I wanna stick to the source material for now.)

Wren (Marlow Barkley) - Isabella Esler

Okay to be completely honest am I pretty much just pulling a random Lydia Deets out of a hat since they're like the only consistent kid actresses I can find? Maybe, lmao. That said, having heard her sing, she's GOOD fam! I think she could pull Wren really well!

Owen (Joe Tippett) - Justin Collette

Okay, so once again, he happens to be a Beetlejuice star, but the vibe check here really comes from his role in School of Rock! It's the same sort of offbeat-person-with-a-heart-of-gold vibe as Owen has in the movie, and like with him also playing the Beetlejuice to Isabella's Lydia, I think they'd do great as dad and daughter on stage. Alternatively, Will Burton (who played Adam in the same cast) would also be a great pick, but gives off some more panicky vibes that I don't feel are as great of a match to Owen.

Carrie (Andrea Anders) - Michaela Diamond

If you've seen her video on her favorite song from NYT, you Know the vibes.

Here are some of my thoughts on Young Royals S3 ep 1-5

I’m just rambling here. This is probably going to be long, all over the place and not well articulated, so bear with me. 

And before I talk about the show, I just need to say that it never ceases to amaze me how incredibly talented all the actors are.

First of all, I don’t blame either Simon or Wilhelm. They are in an incredibly stressful situation. They are bound to make mistakes and I think their actions while being stubborn and lacking common sense are understandable.

I really loved Simon this season and i was so exited there was more of a focus on him. We finally got to some of how everything affected him. It broke my heart to notice he wasn’t the loudest in the choir anymore and then him saying he’s not enjoying music. Side note: Dude had some banger lines this season 

I find it ironic that everything that Wille found attractive in Simon’s in s1 became things that Simon has to shut down in order to be with him

If you told yesterday me that today me was actually okay with an August redemption arc, I would not have believed you. This in no way excuses his behavior, and he still has a lot to work on, but I think it was one of my favorite parts of this season. 

I am not at all surprised by the Erik thing. since s1 I kept wondering when Willie's perfect image of him would come crumbling down, but can’t imagine how devastating it would be to learn that the person who was there for you the most was not this perfect person you thought they were and might not even accept you.

I was rooting hard for Micke and Sara. I knew it was unrealistic that he wasn’t going to hurt her again, but it was still so heartbreaking that he couldn’t pull it together for her. I think there are bigger issues going on than his ADHD that needs to be handled. 

Why does the queen get space and help with her anxieties and grief, but when Wilhelm is struggling he gets no support and is seen as embarrassing and problematic???? 

Why the fuck was it Wilhelm's responsibility to teach Simon what not to do? Obviously, this kid who has never been in the public eye has no idea what he should or shouldn’t do, it almost seems like it was deliberate to get Wilmons relationship to fail idk. It would have been so easy to get something to teach him some basic media training. It's just disturbing how the court had absolutely zero regard for Simon’s safety. 

I’ve seen people talk about Wilhelm being controlling over Simon. Is it acceptable or excusable behavior? Absolutely not, but let me put things into perspective. Wilhelm was raised in an abusive and very controlling environment. His opinions and feelings didn’t matter, and he was told it was love, so it made sense that he would try to do the same for Simon and expected him to go along with it. I think expecting Wilhelm to have healthy relationship skills is unrealistic, and the show never pretended he did. It’s been pretty obvious throughout that Wilhelm consistently projects his feelings and emotions onto other people. 

I still don't know if Simon was breaking up with Wille or not, or they were just trying to frame it that way to scare us (honestly hoping it leads into a more mature conversation), but if he was… Wilhelm had it coming. He hasn’t been handling things very well and is taking it out on Simon, which is just not okay, and he doesn’t deserve that.  

Before this season, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Wille abdicating, cause i still had this fantasy in my head of him as this queer king, but after everything I’ve seen this season, it’s so obvious how much this institution is killing him. He needs to get out and heal from his traumas and find out who he really is without all those rules and pressures.

I don’t even know if I want Wilmon to be an endgame. Obviously, I do, but at this point, I don’t think that’s what’s best for either of them. It’s been very clear this season how much they don’t (at the moment) fit into each other's lives.. Either some major things have to change (Wille abdicating) or they need to split up. I just hope that both boys get a good ending, even if it’s not with each other. 

I don’t know... I’m emotionally exhausted, there are so many plot lines and I really don’t know how they are going to fix everything in one episode.
