“It is all that I can to do...the next right thing.”⠀ ⠀ I felt like this was fitting for Mental Health Awareness Month. Anna’s journey in @disneyfrozen 2 took her to a darker place than she’d ever been before. I’m sure so many people related to how she felt in this scene. I know I did. I think it’s helped a lot of people, and inspired a lot of important conversations. I’ve admired Anna as a character in both movies, and especially in this part of the film, as she continued to prove her strength, even in her darkest moment. She’s silly, derpy and a total goofball, but she’s also a hero, who has walked through years of pain. She shows us that strength isn’t having power; True strength is pressing on when we have nothing left at all. ⠀ ⠀ Don’t be afraid to reach out for help from a trusted source (doctor, counselor, therapist, pastor, etc.) You may feel alone, but I promise, you never truly are. Take it from Anna, the night cannot last forever. And in the meantime, just Do The Next Right Thing. She may be fiction, but the message isn’t. Since I’m on the topic of my daughter today, I will add that she's grown up a lot since Frozen 1 came out! Here she is more recently, age 9, doing an improv interpretative dance of “The Next Right Thing” from Frozen 2. (She’s more of an “Anna” girl these days!!)

snowflakes vs avalanches

worry is like a snowball. it starts off small. but then it starts rolling down a mountain it begins collects snow &grows bigger&bigger, eventually, it will, it must, avalanche right off the cliff causing an absolute mess.  

so why is worry a snowball turned avalanche? because our life is a a big freaking deal, duh. we experience lots of important things that we must make choices about, prepare for, &cope with. it is very easy to see how worrying about all of life can easily get out of hand.

 but the thing is, life only comes second by second , minute by minute, snowflake by snowflake.  we only ever have to figure out the next second, the next minute, of our life.  by breaking down our whole entire existence into individual moments, life becomes way more doable.  all we will ever have to do is the next right thing.

This sweet pin is something I cherish staring at everyday and helps bring more meaning and motivation in my life because it forces me to read these quotes and live life a little bit better each and every time. I like to read the quotes and imagine the much wiser and more mature Anna living by them.
