I am really confused about this game. Is it like "Doki doki literature club" ? the game seems to break the fourth wall after getting bad endings and someone speaks in red text. Is it Ren and is he stuck in the game like Monica?Or is he and Redacted separate people, with him being a game character, but Redacted being some sort of entity who's stuck in the void of the game,or in it's code, and acknowledges that it's a game and someone's playing it and they speak to the player, not the game's protag?
✦゜ANSWERED: 14 Days With You is like 14 Days With You. It's not meant to be similar to DDLC in any way, and Ren isn't supposed to be like Monika or any other self-aware character.
Please don't associate 14DWY with other games just because they share similar tropes. /lh
But!! To answer your question: Ren isn't aware that Angel and the player are separate people. As of right now, he considers Angel and you as the same entity, and speaks to you as though you're part of his universe.
Ren is aware that his entire existence only comes into fruition whenever you play the game — but to him, that's considered normal — the same way getting wifi from trees and not discovering 80% of the ocean is considered normal for us. Nothing is out of place for him, and the way he interacts with his environment doesn't seem weird or out of place for him.
The Dead Ends are the only time Ren breaks the fourth wall, but it's still a massive WIP and there's not enough content for it to make much sense yet. But once more Days get released, this will be further explained!!

Same person that said your art style scratches the inside of my head (I used the wrong your in the original ask smh)
I wanted to also say how much I love how you draw Shuichi <3 It's perfect, people have already complimented how you draw Kokichi (perfect, as well) so I thought how you draw Shuichi deserves some love as well
ive been looking through my drawing folders and have come to the conclusion that your definition of "perfect shuichi" equals to "stressed out of his mind", which i find hilarious /lh
i fucking love shuichi i find him to be such a compelling character. *puts this in your pocket when you're not looking*

here's a neat vid, go watch it if you haven't yet
there's Some things that i don't completely agree with personally, like attributing the Third sin to Materialism rather than Connection (i'd argue that the Ancients had no big issue with being materialistic, considering their golden attires and such- and that going with Connection overall better addresses both the core of Materialism and relationships overall) and then attributing the word Dynasty specifically to asian cultures but that's more history/word definition beef more than anything djgklsjlcgjkd
oh how i'd love to have a debate with this guy about Ancients...

Oh, oh no. I kind of. Retract everything I said about Late Night with the Devil because. I didn't know they used AI in that film and I.
Any amount of disappointment I felt before is now just. Quadrupled. I found a lot of the film to be a little lazy, and this just completely confirms it for me. Props to people who worked on the film and did the actual vfx and sfx, there were good bits so someone must have been pulling their weight, but. Nah. Nah that ain't it.
I also have seen people praising this film because it's 'new' in terms of genre and I think I saw one review that was saying the practical effects are Rob-Bottin-esque which. Not. Really? Don't. Compare this film to The Thing. It will lose.
But this kind of set up isn't new? Like, at ALL? We've had a found footage/analog horror boom and even though a lot of that is on Youtube, there's a lot of films that follow this format. And. BETTER. Any movie in the VHS franchise, Hell House LLC, Lake Mungo. And if you want to praise a NEW indie film for being weird and kind of revolutionary and different, may I direct your attention back to Skinamarink?
I'm not saying the film was all bad, I definitely enjoyed more than a few moments in it and I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. But this all just confirms my gut feeling that it's just a watered down, lazy version of countless other, better films.
