Dunno if you know but there is a Yo-kai watch event in ff14 right now.
Oh my god.......they're alive. And HE'S there.
Tumblr media
Do final fantasy players know what his deal is. Do they know he's a desperately lonely and always slightly horny middle aged alcoholic trapped in the body of an off-putting dog. Do they know how happy he'd have to be to be isekai'd into Final Fantasy and captured by a bunnygirl adventurer.
Tumblr media
Do they know he's so hilariously unpleasant that humans see him as possibly just a normal dog and he still got put in human jail for making women uncomfortable
Tumblr media
These aren't complaints, this is the funniest fucking character a collectible monster franchise has ever had. if you play this final fantasy please give him as good a home as you feel he deserves
Tumblr media
one time he bought booze for a child but really I think that one's on the bar for selling sake to what they thought was a dog

Fall of a King, Rise of a Kraken
ok we're back on the theory/rewrite/whatever grind covering a few major events in this one, primarily based around squisker and the events that led up to mckraken getting the role of chairman along with some Extra Stuff that is exclusive to my lore, wow !
so as mentioned previously, there was a huge surge of yokai abandoning their medals and becoming 'white yokai' some time before the events of the first game, around the time when word was starting to get out that lord enma might not last much longer and for so many yokai to suddenly jump to something so drastic, someone must be leading them on, right?
well. nobody knew it at the time - surprisingly well-kept secret - but the culprit was a certain yokai whose relations with humans were...less than stellar, to put it shortly. and he just so happened to be dipping his tentacle into politics, to see if he could make the most of the unrest caused by the upcoming power vacuum. admittedly, he wasn't expecting to get as far as he did legitimately, but he rounded up a decent following quite quickly some were desperate for a leader to turn to, with enma supposedly getting worse by the day and his only potential heir rushed off to the human realm in case of trouble others were similarly bitter toward humankind, on account of Certain Incidents that had occurred in the past with the few humans who could sense them the motives didn't really matter that much to mckraken. what was important was that he was being listened to, and he might just get the opportunity of a lifetime.
and then it happened. lord enma was officially announced to be dead. gone peacefully in his sleep, and didn't even leave a trace.
the immediate reaction, amidst the general grief and mourning, was to scramble to find someone to fill his position and lead the yokai and given his following [ despite the odd 'coincidence' of a majority of them being white yokai ], mckraken was a popular candidate. things were looking pretty good. but of course, he wasn't quite lucky enough to have everything go without a hitch.
the trouble was that mckraken had a rather close relative, who had been in politics for some time he was liked well enough, another popular name in discussion of enma's successor, but that wasn't the real problem, despite his considerably softer attitude toward humans it was more of a personal issue. squisker hadn't seen mckraken since the white yokai started to show up. intentional on mckraken's part, given the fact that he knew squisker would catch onto the issue quickly if he saw him like this but by chance, the two of them met a while after enma's death and it went about as well as you would expect. a conversation became a fight, which became a terrible misunderstanding squisker was accused of attempting to murder mckraken. not at all the case, and it's surprising that the accusation was even made. he wasn't the violent type, and nobody assumed him to be which is why mckraken didn't step in to defend him. he assumed it would be fine.
unfortunately, there was a particular piece of news which had failed to reach either of them at the time. and attempted assassination, bordering on regicide, wasn't easily glossed over by the simple fact that "he wouldn't". the sentence was the worst you could get, short of outright execution. and some would argue that it was worse than that.
on the plus side, that was the first and last time someone attempted to pry into the new chairman's best-kept secret. although after a while, rumors did begin to drift about regarding an unwinnable prize in the old crank machine on mount wildwood.

Hi, love your Au and your art!
Since the Drax boys have lived in the Hidden City their whole lives, they have a much better sense of community than the Donnie. Even if they aren't the most well liked since I assume most yokai find their views on human's extreme. They can still go down to a supermarket, a restaurant, a park. All things in which Donnie has never been able to do out in daylight. How would they react onto figuring out. "Oh, crap this kid is a socially isolated weirdo [affectionate]." Like would they do a montage of dragging Donnie to all their favorite places? Also, I imagine that yokai culture has different faux pas, any Donnie might just accidentally do something offensive, like how he did in Witch town by not collecting the worms right. Or he might accidentally do something incredibly dangerous like go to a place with gangs or go to Big Mama's and he'd have no idea because Donnie's not a resident of the Hidden City. Also, do you think Yokai celebrate Christmas or New Years? I imagine it would be very weird for Donnie to see people that look like you and be under the same category of 'freak' (in the human city) just walking around doing everyday things. Especially since Donnie's spent his whole life hiding, walking around and not worrying about if some human scientist is going to nab you must be world-endingly weird. Also, it would probably give Donnie hope for things he's never been able to do before. Make a proper friend group, own a home in a neighborhood, and go to college. All the regular teen things he see's people in the movies and April doing.
Also, something I've always wondered in canon, do you think Donnie has his shots? Since he can't access a regular doctor, do you think he's just like a carrier of every single dead disease. I assume he's probably immune to a lot of sicknesses because of how Draxum made them. But imagine Draxums reaction when he wants to get Donnie's medical records (I imagine Draxum is a stickler for health, shots, and Doctor checkups as a form of affection) and Donnie has to tell him he's literally never been to an actual Doctor. I imagine at some point he made records for himself, but that was probably when he got a bit older, so for the first seven years or so, Splinter was just hoping Donnie didn't come down with anything deadly.
I'm also betting that the Drax boys are a bit smarter than canon because Draxum seems like the type of person to do ZERO skimping on education. Like yes, Donnie's still smarter, however I do think they Drax boys are just smarter than canon, like they probably know high school algebra, science, yokai history all that stuff. I think it would be cool to see the boys reference a piece of yokai culture of history and Donnie just be like ".....what". I imagine it make him very mad to be out of the loop in any piece of knowledge. However, Donnie could make a human pop culture reference and also get the Drax boys confused.
LMAO yeah it's quite weird for Donnie to be able to just. Walk around in public without having to worry about anyone finding out that he's a mutant. It takes him a while to adjust to the fact that he doesn't have to hide his turtle-features amongst yōkai, he probably instictually keeps doing it for a while at first (keeping to the shadows and wearing clothes that hides his appearence, stuff like that).
His brothers are quite eager to introduce Donnie to all the cool stuff in The Hidden City that he's been missing out on. And while part of Donnie's difficulty with social interactions is just a symptom of him being autistic, him growing up so isolated definitely made things even harder for him. A lot of his knowledge about social etiquette he learned from like........ shows and movies, and I don't think 80s martial arts- and campy sci-fi-movies are the best teachers on how to interact with others lol. He had April of course, but she's one person and also kind of a weirdo too. And all of that just may have given him insight on how to socialize in human society, he's very unprepared for yōkai society!
His brothers really don't mind this, partially because Donnie's behavior is so similar to Draxum so they honestly just find it endearing. They also fully expected Donnie to have been completely traumatized from living amongst humans. The fact that he's (mostly) fine, just a bit eccentric, is great news to them! Also a lot of yōkai consider the entire Draxum family to be a bunch of weirdos too, maybe Donnie doesn't really fit in amongst other yōkai as much as he'd liked but he DOES fit in amongst his family, both the Hamatos and the Draxums! :]
Also LMAOOO- Splinter: "This is my son Donatello, he has every disease"
Honestly..... yeah Donnie kinda mostly relied on his mutation-enhanced immune system growing up. Donnie, being a NERD, might have figured out how to get himself vaccinated for at least some stuff eventually. I also imagine with Splinter knowing he himself is the closest thing to a medic he or Donnie were ever gonna get access to, he put in effort into research and other precautions to be safe. That being said, he's not an expert, and while I do believe the Hamato Ninja Training included some basic medical training like first aid and such, there's the small problem of both Splinter and Donnie both having EXTREMELY weird biology on account of the mutation, so Splinter kinda just had to guess a lot and hope for the best when it came to Donnie's health
Regardless, I absolutely belive that as soon as Donnie's relationship with Draxum became slightly less hostile, Draxum managed to convince Donnie to sit down for a checkup. And OMG Draxum being so concerned about his kids' health as a form of affection is both adorable and hilarious 😭
And yup the Drax Bros got a much better education in the AU compared to canon lmaooo (Leo still doesn't like reading books though). Donnie is still definitely the most academically gifted, but yeah his brothers of course are going to know a lot more about yōkai stuff in general, which kinda makes Donnie a little bit insecure. Specifially when Raph, Mikey and Leo start talking about something yōkai-related that Donnie is completely ignorant of, then that makes him feel a bit left out. Of course, then he, April will talk about something human-related and then his brothers are the ones out of the loop (aside from maybe Leo he knows quite a bit about human pop-culture)

I meant to do this earlier and then I didn't |'D but quick little ficlet for @trilobitepunch 's DTIYS!
I've tried to read all the stuff about fangiverse but I may have some lore wrong... but I hope you enjoy this anyway, Aya!
-----
Raph has always kept an eye on his little brothers, and that hasn't changed. Two of them have some added... difficulties now, but that's all. They're still his little brothers, and Raph will watch out for them, same as usual. Everything is totally normal.
Thinking that way helps him stay calm, anyway.
Like now, wandering through a marketplace in the Hidden City, eyes on Donnie as he pokes at the gourds at a stand with a frown. They have a whole shopping list from Draxum, for some medicines he wants to try to make that he thinks will help not just Donnie and Leo but all of them. Raph had almost insisted that he and Mikey could do it on their own, but Leo starts going stir-crazy if he's kept locked in the lair too long and Donnie can lock himself in so long he needs the vitamin D.
Besides, Raph doesn't want to feel like he's keeping them prisoner. It's not their fault.
But against all odds, the day has turned out surprisingly well! They had lunch at Run of the Mill, and ate all their favorites. Leo and Mikey spent their remaining New Year's money on candy from a shop that temporarily turns keratin weird colors; it's supposed to affect fingernails, but right now Mikey is sporting a bright pink shell as he trails after Donnie (Raph has to admit, he wants to try it later). For his part, he has an almost-eaten cup of froyo, which he'd piled high with some pretty weird toppings (the Hidden City has weird green mushrooms that taste like cotton candy!). And they've made it through over half the shopping list without incident! Maybe everything will go smoothly after all.
And just as Raph thinks that, he hears a familiar snarl, and everything falls apart.
His mistake, he realizes even as he turns to look, was focusing so much on Donnie that he forgot to keep an eye trained on Leo.
Donnie's easy to trigger, and he sinks deep, devoid of everything but the urge to attack, to fight. Leo can usually keep one finger in reality, just enough to be the bridge between Donnie and the rest of them. Donnie is unpredictable in a crowd, but Leo loves being out around people. That's why Raph had kept his eyes trained on purple.
But the thing is, when Leo goes down, he goes down hard. And there's nothing to stop Donnie from being swept right along with him.
Raph swivels on his feet, froyo cup tossed aside as he scans the crowd. He finds Leo fast, poised like a snake ready to strike, snarling and hissing, pupils flared and wild. His fangs are out and they're bared, staring down a yokai almost three times his size - Raph doesn't know what happened in the lead-up, but he has a feeling that Leo's freakout is deserved.
It doesn't change the fact that they can't stay here now. If Leo hurts someone in this state, he'll beat himself up about it for weeks - and it's only a matter of time until the cops show up and arrest all of them.
"DONNIE!"
Raph isn't at all surprised by Mikey's shout, or the sudden blur of purple that shoots past him. Donnie is at Leo's side in an instant, snarling just as loudly, the two of them circling back to back in challenge to the increasingly panicked crowd.
It's time to go!
"Raph!" yells Mikey, but Raph doesn't spare him a glance. He trusts Mikey to keep up.
"Hitch a ride, Mike," is all he says, before he's clearing the space between himself and his snarling brothers in two big steps. A second later, a familiar weight lands on his shell; one problem taken care of.
Donnie is just about to launch himself at a yokai brandishing a short sword when Raph swoops in, grabbing his little brother by the battle shell and tucking him under his arm. Donnie howls in frustration, but Raph has experience on his side; he pins Donnie to his side and makes sure his teeth can't get anywhere near him.
"No biting, Dee!" he calls over the noise of the crowd, and gets a frustrated chatter in return.
"I can't reach Leo!" Mikey reports from his shoulder. Raph swivels around to look at his remaining sibling, currently advancing on the big yokai once again. Said yokai has his hands balled into fists in front of him, but he looks more than a little concerned as Leo lurches toward him with predatory steps.
Maybe he could just let him get a little closer...
No, Raph should definitely stop this.
With another big step, Raph comes level with Leo and scoops him under his other arm, earning a startled yelp that would be hilarious under other circumstances. Both feral turtles struggle under his arms, fangs bared and hands strong, but Raph has them in his grip.
A police siren echoes over the din of the crowd.
"Time to go!" Mikey shouts, thumping Raph's shell.
"Don't gotta tell me twice!" he yells back. He's already muscling his way through the crowd, making a beeline for an alleyway off the market. They need to get off the main streets, then book it for the nearest portal topside.
The whole trip, the bundles under his arms hiss and snarl and claw at him, completely ungrateful for how he just saved their butts. He ought to drop them and leave them here.
But he won't. They're still his little brothers, after all.

Tech-Ninja AU Lore & PV?
If you think yokai ninja AU is the craziest idea I've ever had...think again :D
Tumblr media
In a corner of my Ninjavember 2023, I briefly mentioned this au, merely a tip of an iceberg.
The lore is mainly inspired by a weird dream and episode 39 of season 1(McSatchle): What if Howard really becomes Randy's boss? Worse yet, what if they'll be like Mcfist and Viceroy?
Yeah, just punch me already🤣*wheeze*
In this AU, Randy didn't get chosen to be a ninja in his highschool years. Instead, he has good grades and a talent for inventing and technology, and eventually got into Mcfist industries with Viceroy as his mentor. Things went downhill as he discovered the true face of Mcfist. After the present ninja was killed by his own invention "the ninja armor", Randy could only turn to Howard.
Though, he's pretty sure he didn't install an AI calling themself "Nomicon"...
Howard is a talented businessman (He's good at chess, some sorts of smart game, so it kinda make sense?) who started his own company in a young age. He and Randy promised to run a company together when they were in highschool. So he was kinda frustrated that Randy chose Mcfist over him after college graduation. Of course Howard won't go easy on his old friend when he turned to him...
Howard and Randy being boss and employee is probably the funniest part of the AU. The rest are just pure angst😗
With Randy finally joined the Weinerman company, they began to catch up with the Mcfist industries. Yep, the story is mainly about business wars and science stuffs, which is another one of my blind spots. So no long comic for this one :P
There're also typical Ninja fighting robots and monsters stuffs, only this time, Randy isn't loved by everyone.

Tbh, i don't know what I am doing. I just saw other people having this and decided i wanted to do it as well
Stuff i am working on
I am currently working on two undertale related projects that are all unpublished at the moment as I decided to rewrite them before I post them
Meet The Nulls
Tumblr media
Meet the Nulls is a story based on the idea if there's a void between AUs where popular outcodes like Error sans and Ink sans live, why not have a void that exists between different multiverses
So Meet the Nulls will be a collection of stories that all exist in the same setting instead of a story that follows a cast in a continuous story
A few stories I got plan for Meet the Nulls is
Meet the Nulls: The Pioneer
A story about my alternate version of Ink sans going by the name Luu and his journey in the nullvoid from getting his mask to him gaining the title "The pioneer"
Meet the Nulls: Who's ready to Rumble
A story that follows a character known as Yokai Error and his time in the multiversal event known as the rumble where tons of different multiversal variants are forced to fight it out to see who wins
Meet the Nulls: Multiversal Exterminators
A story that follows an average day for the Nullvoid trio that consists of Error Prime, Nightmare supreme, and X ink, which of course involves destroying an entire multiverse, but they have there own way of making it fun
Meet the Nulls: One killer of a Salesmen
A story about a killer sans that after ended up in the nullvoid and became a Salesman and follows his strange interactions in the nullvoid as he does his new job
I have more stories plan for it, but these are the ones I am currently working and plotting for
Undertale:DATASPLIT
Basically what Undertale:DATASPLIT is about is basically the reimagining of every popular concept that the fanon had made like villain sans squad, shattered dream, the alpha bros(heavily reimagined with no connection to the AU Alphatale other then concept), fresh ink, evil ink, error being a menace, Erratum and so on all into a series where they interact alongside with original characters such as Datasplit Sans himself who's I'm still in the process of making
No story is currently planned for this yet
Stuff about me(WIP)
MY DNI LIST
Nobody, just don't be overly toxic to me, and you're fine unless you ship something weird and haven't made an attempt to make it more appropriate in that case. Do not interact with me
My kind of writing warning
I would just want to say that I am a part of the darker and edgyer side of the fandom, and my future writings have some inspiration from that which some people may not like but just know that my stuff may contain some dark elements so you have been warned
Fandoms I am in
Undertale
Hollow knight
TC (I will not be explaining what that stands for unless you really like grimmdark stuff)
Minecraft
Bendy and the ink machine
Looking for willing artists
I am on the lookout for artists who are willing to draw stuff about my creations as I am extremely supportive of any people making artwork of my characters and worlds

Please tell me more about force fem Minato being made the shinigami's wife
From this ask meme
I fucking knew someone would single that one out. Anyways, from my notesapp:
Force fem Minato being made the shinigami's wife as punishment for his hubris He and Kushia used to joke about Minato being the wife between the two of them, so he's eventually able to cope w his situation and dissociate by relying on the "I'm Kushina's wife" joke as a crutch to make it all feel slightly less awful The shinigami sends him on errands as his wife (collecting souls lmao) and Minato uses it as an excuse to watch Naruto and Kakashi from affar,, Umm maybe some of the errands involved Minato baiting people into making deals with and summoning his shinigami husband? He is the lure and the shinigami is the stick lmao The shinigami can't actually do things or manifest in the real world without someone first inviting them into their lives, so, like, that's part of what Minato's wife duties are. To get people to open the door to the shinigami. Among other things
+ Bonus which is kind of unrelated but was on the same notes page:
I like Minato for the take that there's something fr wrong w him and he makes a concious effort to appear normal and kind
He's like. Somewhere on the spectrum of sociopathy or has severe borderline personality or just some genuine mental illness and he works very hard, borrowing the mannerisms of those around him, to be charming and nice n stuff
I forget what fic I saw that in but like THATS the fic that made me care ab him
Hashirama 🤝 Minato
'Being friendly to the point that there's smthn genuinley wrong with them'
Minato !! I think he has a lot of untapped potential specifically in the market of fucking w shinigami. Like, what's even up with that? Let's play with that a little.
The man who would kill a thousand people in a day and return home happy to his wife,,, now turned into the wife who the shinigami who would kills thousands in a day returns home to,,, is this karma?
There's a few different directions this could go in tbh— both from the angle of like. How Minato is feeling / what he's going through but also like. Shinigami and yokai lore. What kind of shinigami / yokai lore are we playing with here.
The question isn't just what Minato is going through but also where the fuck is he. Is he in the Shinigami's personal little death dimension? Stuck inside the shinigami mask with him? Or is there some sort of broader shinigami world he's now living in? Is it only the shinigami, who Minato has to deal with? Or does he watch over any of the (no doubt countless) souls the shinigami has in its collection? Does he interact with any other yokai? Are the yokai he meets inside of whatever death dimension he's in or is it that he meets them when he leaves it to run errands? Or in some other, third place? Is Minato even human anymore or does he classify as some sort of yokai now too?
So many fun thoughts!
Anyways ummm. Thinking. Having thoughts. Specifically having abstract thoughts ab some sort of enraged Uzu fox ghost Kushina and new yokai shinigami wife Minato
Kushina's ghost is an Uzumaki one,, she grew up in Uzu where they just kind of have death god shrines n shit, apparently, she was never going to become a normal spirit. And that's not even counting the fox in her + all that weird yin/yang stuff w kurama. She is an angry, angry fox ghost with Uzumaki roots and she wants her wife back !!!
Umm Romeo and Juliet style forbidden love in the afterlife of Minato one day running back into Kushina's spirit (probably while they're both taking a moment to watch over Naruto / check in on Kakashi)
And they like. Do the spider man pointing meme bc HOLY SHIT OMG MY SPOUSE YOURE ALSO TRAPPED IN THIS AFTERLIFE LIMBO and also make out and like tell eachother what they've been doing (Kushina w her cool Uzumaki spirit lore and Minato w his much less cool "yeah so the shinigami um. Turned me into his wife. So.") but then they're forced to separate bc Minato can only leave the shinigami's domain for so long
Forbidden romance under the eye of the shinigami,,, if Minato gets caught the shinigami threatens to make him reap Kushina's soul to add to his collection
Idk but there's just a lot of potential here.
Naruto not from the POV of anyone living but instead from shinigami wife Minato trying to slip in time to see his fox ghost wife again as the plot of Naruto happens in the bg, could be fun
Then the Uchiha massacre happens and suddenly so many more angry spirits are getting added to the mess, oh boy
But yeah thank u for participating in the ask game here is a much longer than I meant for it to be tumblr post as ur payment

50au Part 24
TW FOR VIOLENCE/FIGHTING/BRIEF CHOKING
Leo was having a hard time keeping up with….everything. Struggling to parse what was real and what wasn’t.
If he weren't in so much pain he'd wonder if those birds really had done him in and he wasn't lying in the med bay imagining all this. Alone and practically comatose.
But his leg and his head and everything ached too badly for it to be a dream or some kind of weird hallucination.
He wasn't sure his brain could make half this stuff up anyway.
Donnie and Mikey had explained everything to the rat, who had then promised to help. After he took a nap, of course.
Everyone seemed a little pissed off at that, but Leo was relieved. He already hated having to rely on a bunch of strangers that insisted they were family, he didn't want to add another into the mix. Even if he was Lou Jitsu ( which Leo really didn't believe that part of all this)
Hell, maybe Jupiter Jim was uncle and was really a snake or something.
The rest of the day was spent planning, for the most part.
Donnie figured out exactly when he seemed to reset and said it was a breakthrough, though Leo didn't know how exactly it would help. He was going to forget either way, and it wasn't as if they could prevent it happening. Until Donnie said he was going to have Leo stay up past that point and see if it made a difference.
Annoying, but Leo was at these guys’ mercy and all.
He did learn a lot throughout the day.
Mikey was a good cook. He was also the youngest. And even though he had this emotional maturity thing going, Leo could tell he was one wrong move from crying about this entire thing.
The big guy, Raph, was the oldest. And he was super over protective and kept treating Leo like he'd break. He also wasn't as touchy-feeling as Mikey, but Leo figured if was more because of the circumstances and that Raph would hug him til he popped if he had the chance.
Donnie was the really interesting one. They were twins, which Leo was guessing on based on a lot of context. Stuff from the montage, the way Donnie acted and the way he seemed to mumble ‘my Dumdum twin’ under his breath whenever he got the chance. He was really smart, too, Leo could barely keep up with half the stuff he talked about.
At first he thought Donnie might be the leader, but Raph seemed to be more in charge than he was letting on. But the dynamic was still weird. Mikey definitely wasn't the leader. Leo figured he couldn't have been, because what Leader would get himself shot with a curse and then run around avoiding his problems all the time? He definitely wasn't leader material.
Not that it mattered, because Raph had already told him they weren't going anywhere today.
There was also the issue of Baron Draxum, the villain that had thrown Leo off of a roof and overall was just an untrustworthy bastard. They all thought it was weird that he remembered Draxum, but Leo didn't trust the guy as far as he could throw him. He definitely wasn't family.
But he was helping them for some reason, and Leo was forced to let the yokai into his home to do so. Even if the thought made him want to be sick and made the panic and anxiety he'd been holding back all day simmer dangerously beneath the surface.
Baron Draxum was working on the cleansing salve and promised he was almost done, that they could do the ritual tomorrow. Leo didn't like the sound of Draxum doing anything with his head, much less going into his memories.
He brought it up with Donnie that night, while Donnie fixed the camera in the corner of his room.
“ Are we sure it has to be him? Don't you all have any other yokai family members that weren't literally evil….?” Leo muttered, huddled in the corner of his bed.
It was dark in the lair now. Everyone else had gone to sleep, while Donnie had Leo stay up so he could observe the resetting.
His thought was that, maybe if Leo didn't sleep, the reset wouldn't be able to happen. Even if it was time based.
“ Sadly, no. I would personally not love Draxum rooting around in your head either, even though I respect him as a fellow scientist and all,” Donnie answered, sitting on the edge of Leo's bed and prying apart the camera, “ but he's the only person we really know that can do all that mystic bullshit,”
“ This all would have been so much easier if it were some kind of clinical mishap. At least then you'd be showing progress at this point, and we could probably fix it with surgery or something,” he huffed, holding up the light, “ there. You're going to forget it's up there, but at least you won't get freaked out again by the light,”
Donnie started to put the camera back together with a sigh, still rambling.
Leo got the feeling it helped him calm down. Even though he didn’t really understand why, he was feeling slightly calmed by whatever Donnie was going on about. Even if he was having a hard time keeping up and his head throbbed.
“At least tomorrow we can do the ritual and put this all behind us. I've already got plans in case you somehow have lasting side effects, and of course a medical plan for your leg,” He clicked the last piece in place and headed to remount it to the wall, “ which you're obviously going to have to follow, Nardo. You were a terrible patient after the- when you got hurt, and we will not be having a repeat of that. I'm sure Dr. Feelings has his own plans about the emotional effects of all this and-”
Leo didn't have a chance to ask who Dr. Feelings was.
The world went silent, Leo slumping forward like-
Leo blinked awake, hunched over in the corner of his bed, his knees up to his chest. Someone was talking, but he must have just left his TV on, because who could possibly be talking?
He fumbled for the remote on his nightstand, blinking away the sleep and fiddling with the power button. But when he pressed it, the noises didn't stop. In fact, the TV turned on when he did that, the fuzzy static making him frown. He turned it back off.
Someone was talking. Someone was in his room.
In the corner of his room, in the dark, loomed a figure. They were tall and thin and shadowed, and Leo's first thought was that it was some kind of sleep paralysis demon. But he could move plenty, and his leg was starting to ache so badly that his knew he wasn't asleep.
Leo rubbed at his eyes in an attempt to clear them, focusing in on the figure with a grimace. Still tall and still shadowed, but less threatening when he saw  a purple hoodie and the fact that the person was standing on a small step stool. At first he couldn't see what they were doing. But as they stepped down to admire their work, he understood. They were installing a camera.
In his room. Where he was sleeping.
To watch him and-and do know god knows what with the information.
Leo sat as still as he could, the figure suddenly turning to face him. They were a mutant like him, maybe even a turtle if he had to guess. Three fingers, green skin, a tail. No shell, as far as Leo could tell. Unless it was hidden well beneath the hoodie. But that didn't matter much, because all he could think was how someone could be in his room.
The figure stared at him for a moment, no longer rambling to themselves.
“ ‘Nardo, you okay?” They murmured, voice dropping to something closer to a whisper.
Leo swallowed down the rising panic, glancing around the room for his swords. They weren't here. He always kept them by his bed, so why weren't they…?
Leo turned back to the mutant. This guy must have hidden them. He must have planned this so that Leo couldn't fight back…couldn't run.
“ wh-who are you?” He asked, pieces of a plan starting to fall together. He had to fight. The mutant wasn't much bigger than him. He could fight, even if he was never good at hand to hand combat. He just had to lower this guy's guard first. If he could get him monologuing, then surely it'd be an easy fight.
“ what are you doing in my room?”
“ shit, did you reset?” they suddenly seemed panicked, quickly checking some sort of strange tech on their arm, “ I must have miscalculated, you weren't supposed to reset for another hour, at least-”
Now.
Leo launched himself off the bed and at the stranger, hands outstretched to grapple him. The mutant shrieked in surprise, and Leo took him to the ground easily.
It hurt his leg, bad, but he had to fight! He wasn't gonna let this guy get away with whatever evil surveillance shit he had planned!
“ ‘Nardo, stop- you've got to listen to me-” the mutant growled, teeth snapping dangerously at Leo's hands. He quickly grabbed their wrists and held them to the ground, far too relieved that the mutant didn't have a weapon on them, “ Leo-”
They kicked and twisted under him, but Leo was stronger. He quickly moved to straddle their legs, wincing when they kicked Hus injured one a little too hard.
“Fuck- WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOME!?” Leo growled, leg wound throbbing in time with his heartbeat. He held his position though, the mutant struggling against him.
“ L-Leo, it's me! I know you're confused, but I'm your brother” the mutant whined, hands clenching with the effort it was taking to fight him. They were a lot stronger than they looked, Leo straining to keep them from moving. “ Leo, please! Let-let me explain!”
They sounded scared. And terribly desperate.
It unexpectedly grated on Leo's nerves, a feeling like pity growing inside him. No, no he could not feel bad for this guy! A mutant who was lying to him and had literally invaded his home!
“ tell me the truth Or I’ll kill you” Leo hissed, trying not to think too hard about the pain or the pity or the nagging feeling in the back of his head that made him want to hear this guy out, “ what were you doing with the camera? How'd you get in here?”
The mutant let out a shaky sigh, “ I am your brother. You were cursed to forget your family and-”
“STOP LYING!” Leo reeled his fist back and punched the mutant hard, trying not to focus on how the crack beneath his fist  made him feel sick, “ YOU'RE NOT MY BROTHER!”
Blood gushed from the murant’s nose, their eyes widened and panicked. He squeezed his eyes shut for a second, the sight of it making him feel so fucking sick and he didn't know why.
This mutant was going to hurt him if he didn't hurt them first. They were going to watch him and use the information to get him. He knew it, he already knew their plan, so he had  to fight back while he had the upper hand.
He reeled back to punch the mutant again, but they stuck an arm out to stop him, grabbing at his neck and trying to choke him. But they were too hesitant, like they were afraid they'd hurt him.
Too bad Leo wasn’t afraid to hurt them.
He threw another punch, but the mutant tightened their fingers and he choked at the last second, nearly missing their cheek.
Leo let go with his other hand to try and wrench their hands away from his neck, suddenly sucking in a panicked breath. This reminded him too much of- he couldn't breath and it was just like-
Leo squeezed his shut, his throat closing despite the mutant barely squeezing.
He tried not to think about it. Just fight. Fight this guy, don't think about how similar it feels to-
Something pricked his neck and Leo opened his eyes, the mutant let go of his neck and pushed him off, scrambling away from him.
He felt dizzy.
“You-” Leo rasped out, but he couldn't make the words work. He couldn't move. Everything seemed to be falling down around him, the world going dark.
And then he was nowhere.
-----
lemme know if this needs more warnings. uuuuh yeah I wanted to write this part bad cause haha there will be consequences to Leo's actions ;) Regardless of whether he remembers them or not
I hope this bit isn't too OOC for Leo specifically, I think if he were cornered he could get real real violent so. Yeah.
Also I drew a doodle for this (which is why I wanted to write this bit) TW FOR VIOLENCE/CHOKING BELOW
Tumblr media
Sorry Donnie you are also getting more traumatized :/

It's very much likely because I've been reading alot of Monkie Kid fan fics, but what if the concept of Courtnapping, exists in Yokai Culture in Rise TMNT?
It would make sense, since we know next to nothing about Yokai in Rise.
Plus it kinda fits what happened with Splinter/Lou Jitsu/Yoshi Hamato, Big Mama kinda courtnapped him, but then probably freaked out about her instincts, aka might eat him, so she tossed him to the arena to show him off... kinda.(?)
Then Draxum, under the self induced excuse of using Lou for his experiments, courtnaps Lou to his lab.
But things went wrong because no one is really explaining this stuff to Splints, and he escaped with his newly acquired Turtle Children.
Now fast forward to when the Turtles are at least mid teens, post Kraang/Krang, and they keep having odd interactions with the Yokai of the Hidden City. Maybe an attempted Courtnapping or two.
So they either go to Hueso or Draxum to learn WTF is Going On!!! (They will never go to Big Mama because she'd make them take a deal or owe a favor or something.)
The Turtles definitely have mixed reactions to learning these new things about Yokai culture. Though whoever they go to is slightly confused/concerned on why they don't already know this stuff.
From here it all just depends on if there are any specific pairings with the Turtles. Like adding crossovers, dimensional travel, ect, ect.
Like maybe one the turtles get the urge to courtnap someone, maybe they have to save April from being courtnapped, unless it's Cass, then they're like 'Good Luck Sis', because Cass is scary.
Though the image of someone trying to courtnap Raph is more funny than it should be. This is how Raph may fall for the person, or just gain a slight crush.
I have a partially scraped LMK/Rise crossover where the whole courtnapping thing is brought up, and they wonder if by some demon/yokai law, Big Mama and Splinter are technically married, but not officially. I just haven't bothered to write it out because I keep getting stuck on exposition and like little to no plot!
The amount of times I've typed Courtnap/Courtnapped/Courtnapping, and how not weird it sounds now is interesting if weird.

There are so many fun Disaster Twins parallels I caught the last time I binged Rise
I’m mainly going to start with lines before I get into some deeper stuff in part two, but as far as I’ve seen this pair seems to have the most parallels and I love it
Both the sillies have a line about sounding naturally sarcastic: “And I know everything I say sounds sarcastic, but I’m being completely genuine… This time.”
“Oh sure, let me just load my Tap Into Every Security Camera in New York app! I’m sorry if that sounded like sarcasm it wasn’t I am in.”
They both land on Warren in his first episode 😂
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These sillies in Bug Busters:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also LOOK at these guys in their matching cutesy pajamas
Tumblr media
Donnie teasing his brothers and hitting them with the tennis balls all smug in Smart Lair feels very Leo of him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leo being the naysayer of the group in The Gumbus and constantly insisting there has to be some kind of logical/scientific explanation is very Donnie of him
“There has to be a simple answer. Earthquake, magnets, giant prankster mice. There’s no such thing as ghosts!” “A model train. Simple answer.” “Aha! Right? The simple answer!”
Donnie has a funny line about Dragons (and their teeth) not existing, both these moments being ironic since discovering yokai, the Hidden City and the whole mystics world makes dragons and ghosts not just possible, but proven real
Tumblr media
Their iconic weird showing-off-clothes poses in Purple Jacket and Late Fee
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These lines:
“Can’t we get new brothers?!”
“We have to go back for our brothers! Or are you gonna replace them, too?!”
“Guh-ee…”
Tumblr media
They are also the only two characters with lines mentioning they think Splinter would’ve been cooler specifically as a tiger 😂 While I love the Eric Bauza/Tigerclaw references to ‘12, otherwise the comments are rather random other than saying tigers are cooler than rats. It made me realize how much they really do think alike. “You’re just a rat, we need a tiger.” “Yeah sure you’re a rat and it probably would’ve been cooler if you were like a tiger or something.”
More similar lines when they both break the fourth wall: “One season later and I still have full battery!” “If this isn’t the poster shot, someone’s getting fired.”
Leo’s chosen last words: “With my last breath I told you sooooo!”
Donnie’s chosen last words: “At least I shall perish knowing I was the better brother.” (a lie)
I believe they’re also the only ones to call Splinter Papa whereas Raph and Mikey use ‘Pops’ more
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And last but not least, their shared aversion to Staten Island
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bottom line, the rottmnt writers practically made their twinship canon without realizing it sooo it’s pretty much undeniable now 😊

If it's okay, can I request for a one-shot of the TFA X ROTTMNT crossover AU about Splinter and Megatron reuniting please?
Like at one point in the AU an ennemie common to both Autobots and Decepticons is making attacks to invade both factions and this result to the classic "Autobots/Decepticons alliance scenario" with the ROTTMNT gang(the turtles, Splinter, April and Draxum) being the neutral faction acting as mediators between the two factions.
This lead to Splinter and Megatron officially reuniting, everyone to find out that Splinter had made Megatron his sons's godfather, the Cybertronians, Megatron incluses, to finally learn what a godfather is(maybe they have a Cybertronian equivalent but is called differently) and everyone reacting to the revelation!
Getting autobots and decepticons work side by side was like pulling teeth. Even with the quintessons breathing down their collective necks, threatening to destroy them all, they couldn't let go of old grudges. Splinter supposed that was the downside of living as long as they did, it just made the past so hard to let go off. Why forgive and forget when you can spend millennia hating someone and still have majority of your life left?
He wasn't even trying to make them like each other. Splinter wasn't going to waste his time mending the damage caused by a million year old civil war, they did not have that much time, but was it really too much to ask for for these bots to at least pretend to act civil with each other? Five minutes without anyone bickering, that was all he asked for! But noooooo! The moment he looked away, the very second he relaxed and thought that maybe they could get somewhere and achieve something, they would start arguing about the smallest things!
"Don't touch me."
"Stay on your side of the room."
"Get your own fuel."
"Stop looking at me!"
"You're venting to loud!"
It made him want to throw himself into a smelter furnace, feet first. Seriously, it was like looking after a bunch of children! And Splinter would know, he had raised four of them all on his own! At least his kids had been easy enough to distract with movies and games. There was no distracting these gigantic toddlers from throwing their temper tantrums.
These babies also just happened to be giant alien robots with inbuilt weaponry.
Splinter supposed he was lucky, in a sense. Last time he had found himself in a cybertronian body, he had been all on his own. He had been forced to figure out most of that stuff on his own. Some stuff had been easy, like walking. Transforming for the first time had been weird. He had gotten stuck halfway and it had taken him two hours to get himself unstuck. At least this time, he had his family with him.
Yeah, sure, it certainly made him more anxious, as he now had to worry about their safety, but it brought him comfort to have them around, to hear them chatter and joke around like usual. It brought with it a sense of normalcy. It also helped that they also worked hard to keep the autobots and decepticons from killing one another. Hell, even Draxum was a massive help. The yokai-turned-cybertronian had this way of demanding respect from decepticons that they appeared familiar and receptive to.
As much as he loathed to admit it, Splinter envied them somewhat in that regard. His cybertronian form had changed, now matching his mutated body, and his short and stocky frame made it too easy for both sides to disregard him.
Splinter didn't exactly strike the intimidating figure he once had, with no one on Cybertron being able to recognize him and ouch, didn't that sting, knowing that he had lost even that, that in whatever body he found himself in, he was unrecognizable.
Whenever he introduced himself as Splinter, bots would roll their optics and scoff, finding it humorous that he had the same designation as the old legend. THAT Splinter had been tall, lean and exuded an aura of confidence. This version? He was a joke in comparison.
"So pathetic it was almost funny." That's what one bot had said, when they had thought he wouldn't hear them. Unable to disagree with them, Splinter hadn't said anything.
He had also yet to tell anyone in the family about his past experience on Cybertron. Partly because of embarrassment. Ok, mostly because of embarrassment. Embarrassment and shame. But he knew that they had all started to suspect something. Splinter hadn't been very careful, sometimes saying things that betrayed that he knew more about cybertronian culture than he should. A mistake on his part.
In fact, Splinter was pretty confident that Purple had already figured most of it out though. The boy had been so excited upon their shared transformations and done a deep dive into everything about Cybertron and its history. No doubt that he had found some mentions about this mysterious 'Splinter' that suddenly appeared and then went missing years ago. Probably noticed the similarities in appearance to how he had looked as Lou Jitsu. Really, Splinter shouldn't have used the same name. Another mistake on his part. Purple had been giving him these looks, observing his reactions to various places and bots and it all spoke to the fact that he was at least very suspicious that this 'Splinter' and his old man was the same person.
Still, he had yet to confront him about it so Splinter was not going to say anything unless prompted. Avoiding the problem until it was no longer possible, that was his style. Most likely, Purple would not say anything until he knew everything, the how and the why's and then he would reveal it all to his brothers with that overdramatic flair of his. Oh, Splinter just knew Purple was going to be so smug about it once he confirmed his suspicions. That boy loved being right. It was a trait he had surely inherited from his dear old father.
Splinter drummed his fingers against the flat surface of the table, anxious and impatient. He had been asked to serve as a mediator when the leaders of the two factions spoke and negotiated the continued ceasefire. Apparently, the threat of mutual annihilation was not enough to put their egos aside and they both needed some persuasion. Someone from the outside that could look them in the eyes and tell them they were acting like idiots. So of course Splinter had been chosen for this.
Frankly, he was nervous. He had heard lots about this "Megatron" and "Ultra Magnus". The way people spoke about it, it didn't really make him feel confident. From what he had gathered, they were both brilliant leaders. Intelligent. Charismatic. Stubborn. And apparently, they hated each other. The chance of them willingly agreeing to cooperating, even under the threat of the quintessons, were slim.
But Splinter had refused to let one of his sons handle this, nor April or even Draxum. In case anything happened, in case a fight broke out, he didn't want his family to get caught in the crossfire (and ugh, it hurt to think of Draxum as family).
So far, only Ultra Magnus had yet to show up. He had appeared precisely on time, not a minute earlier or later, had taken one look around the room for Megatron, grunted, and then taken a seat on the far end of the table. He had barely even acknowledged Splinter, choosing instead to go over the datapads he had brought with him. Which, alright, fine, Splinter could deal with that. Totally. No problem.
It was a problem. It took 10 minutes for Megatron to show up to the meeting. 10 long, awkward minutes of silence. Somehow, Ultra Magnus managed to feel oppressive and judgmental when he wasn't saying anything. It made Splinter shift in his seat, tap his fingers against the table with increasing fervor. After three minutes, he broke and tried to start a conversation with the Magnus. You know, to break the tension. He had started talking... only to be met with silence. Magnus hadn't even looked up from his datapads. The only reaction had been a slight twitch of his left optic. And now that he had started talking, Splinter just hadn't been able to stop. It was as if a flood had been unleashed.
So how about the weather? Did your fuel taste weird this morning or was it just mine? Must be hard running both an army and a planet. Are you a morning person or a night owl? I am more of a night person myself. Huh, they really should change that light. Is it hot in here or is it just me.
It was frankly a relief when Megatron arrived. Ten minutes late, sure, but at this point, Splinter wasn't going to complain. He was pretty sure that if he continued to talk for even a second more that he would accidentally spill the beans on everything. That's why, when the door hissed open, he looked up at the towering figure with a thankful gaze.
And, huh. Huh. Megatron certainly was all that the rumors had made him out to be. Tall, broad shoulders, intimidating. He carried himself like he owned the place. But there was something more. Something that made Splinter pause and zero in on the mech. There was something... familiar about him.
He didn't have the chance to think about it any further than that. The moment Megatron stepped into the room, Magnus' optics snapped up and bore into him with an intense glare. "You're late" the autobot leader noted with no small amount of disdain. Already off to a good start then, Splinter thought.
Megatron, unmoved by the Magnus' tone, merely shrugged as he took his own seat on the opposite end of the table. "Some of us have things to do, Ultra. Armies to command, societies to run. Things like that."
If Splinter had thought Megatron looked familiar, the voice had ten times the effect. In the back of his mind, a thought was forming. An idea. Things were connecting but he couldn't yet see the full picture.
Ultra Magnus scoffed. "Oh yes, your "army". Tell me, how many days since the last attempted coup? Let me guess, your second in command, again? He got the best of you once, I'm sure he's eager to repeat the experience."
"Starscream" Megatron said with a sneer, "is none of your concern. Besides, I wouldn't be so quick to judge. After all, didn't the head of your Intelligence Division turn out to be one of my agents?" His sneer turned into a wicked smirk. "How shameful, Ultra, to promote a spy to such a high rank. Is age finally catching up to you? Going senile, perhaps?"
Splinter could hear the way the datapad cracked in Magnus' servos. "If I remember correctly" he started, voice cold, "you are not that much younger than I am. Are you perhaps speaking from experience? Projecting, maybe?"
"Hah!" Megatron banged his fists on the table and barked out a mocking laugh. He leaned forward in his seat. "You amuse me, Ultra! Is this how you entertain your high command? No wonder they are so eager to work for you, with you in charge, every day is a circus!"
"Oh I'll show you something funny alright-"
Before the two leaders could lunge across the table to throttle one another, Splinter stood up in his chair. "Ok, that's enough!" He waved his hands around like he was fighting an invisible enemy. "I feel like we got off on the wrong foot, eh, pede, here. Why don't we start over? Like civilized people." When it didn't look like either Megatron or Ultra Magnus was going to reach for a weapon, Splinter sighed and sat down once more. "Ok. Ok, ok, ok." He massaged the space between his optics. "We are here for a reason. The quintessons. They want all of us gone. Autobots, decepticons, don't matter. That is bad. We don't want that. So, we collaborate."
Megatron crossed his arms in front of his chest and scoffed. "And why should we trust the autobots?" He glanced briefly at Magnus before looking back at Splinter, optics squinted. "The moment the quintessons are defeated, they will turn on us."
"I could say the same thing" Magnus interjected. "The decepticons have never been the picture of loyalty. Always so eager to turn on each other. How can we be so sure that you just won't turn your weapons on the autobots the moment you get the chance?"
Splinter saw the way Megatron's expression darkened and so he interjected before the warlord had a chance. "Because neither of you can do it on your own." The two leaders looked at him and Splinter knew he had their full attention. Ok, time to use that old charm of his. And maybe reuse a couple of old movie lines. "The quintessons have us outnumbered. They are not afraid to throw soldiers at us until they've broken us down. That's why, our retaliation has to be swift, decisive. And that that only be achieved by working together. Divided, you may be strong but together, you are unbeatable."
For the first time since Magnus entered the room, he looked at Splinter as if he was actually seeing him. Meanwhile, Megatron was giving him a weird look but eh, it didn't look as if Splinter's pep talk had driven him to consider murder so that was a plus his his book.
Ultra Magnus nodded. "Your words are logical and, I must admit, convincing. As much as I may dislike it, collaboration is needed to ensure victory."
"Nice!" Splinter pumped his fist. "Together, we will beat the quintessons and emerge victorious! The Hamatos will fight again!"
Megatron blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. Then he stood up with such force that his chair clattered to the floor. Ultra Magnus, triggered by the sudden reaction, similarly stood up, preparing himself for combat. But Megatron didn't attack. Instead he planted one hand on the table and pointed the other right at Splinter, optics wide with disbelief and mouth hanging open. It was an expression Splinter immediatel recognized. "SPLINTER!?"
Splinter pointed a finger right back at Megatron. "D-16!?"
Megatron's face split into a wide smile and he immediately swooped Splinter up in his arms. "Old friend! I never thought I would see you again! I searched for so long but never found a single sign of you so I thought- What happened? Where did you go? Why do you look like this?" He placed his old friend on the table so they could be of more of a similar height.
"I promise to explain everything, Dee," said Splinter, and he truly meant it. D-16 had been his best friend when he had arrived on Cybertron all those years ago and he had never quite forgiven himself for leaving without a word, even if he had no choice in the matter. "And I have so much to tell you! And people I want you to meet! My boys-"
Dee, well, Megatron, tilted his head to the side. "Your boys?"
Splinter puffed up his chest with pride. "Yes! You see, I have taken on the great challenge of fathering, eh, mentoring, four bots!" Megatron's face went a bit slack.
"You? A mentor? I mean, I know you trained Yoketron but that was-"
Waving away his concern and disbelief, Splinter continued. "Eh, that was long ago! This is different! These aren't just my students, they are my family, and you know how much family means to me, Dee." A light suddenly popped in his head. "That's right! My sons will finally get to meet their godfather!"
Megatron's optics sparkled. "Godfather? I know that term. Heard it on Earth." He smiled warmly. "I am honored, my friend, that you would give me that honor. I look forward to meeting your sons."
Splinter smiled. He had never thought he would get to meet Dee again, especially after learning that millions of years had passed since he had left Cybertron and that an entire civil war had happened. The chance of his kind, sweet friend had made it through... He hadn't dared hope. But apparently Dee had done quite well for himself! Leader of an entire army, now that was something. Splinter was quite sure that Dee had his own stories to tell.
The sound of something heavy being dropped on the ground made Splinter turn around, just to see Ultra Magnus standing there, on the other side of the table, his hammer on the floor and looking just like Orange when it was pizza night.
"You- How- Splinter- I don't-" the Magnus stuttered. His optics grew just a fraction wider. "YOU'RE SPLINTER!"
Huh, ok, so maybe Splinter had to explain things to more than just one bot.

OK so I dont really like this but this 2012 tmnt mermaid au has been driving me INSANE so here are some mermaid designs for the boys (which I might change if I draw more stuff for this au) and some lore for the au under the cut!
also Donnie is ftm and Leo is mtf and those are the facts! (Donnie did do top surgery on himself, do NOT ask me how he did that underwater safely)
(just a quick note: I am using some japanese mythos for the mermaid part but I'm also being loosey goosey with it alskjdfh)
ALSO slight tw for cannibalism? or like cannibalism adjacent behavior
There is a yokai described in Japanese literature called the ningyo, a creature that is half human and half fish. Legend says that if you capture a ningyo and eat its flesh, that you will be granted eternal life. Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki were familiar with these legends, though Saki always believed in them more than Yoshi. Saki believed in the legends so much that he became obsessed with finding the legendary ningyo and becoming immortal after consuming its flesh. Yoshi accompanied his brother on these ventures, more out of a sense of familiar duty and a need to watch out for his younger brother than an actual belief in the ningyo.
And of course, it just so happens that the brother who does not at all believe in the existence of yokai would be the one to find one. Yoshi encounters Tang Shen, a ningyo who has been living throughout the local freshwater river system. And suddenly Yoshi realizes that Saki's quest for murder might actually come true since apparently these ningyo are very much real. So now whenever he accompanies Saki on his hunting quests, he does everything in his ability to try to dissuade Saki from his plan, and when he realizes that isn't going to work, he starts to sabotage Saki's efforts. And Yoshi does this because well he kept in contact with Tang Shen, and the two became close friends, and son fell in love, bridging the gap between yokai and human.
They can't get married, obviously, Tang Shen is fully a yokai, but they build their lives together and eventually Tang Shen falls pregnant with their daughter Miwa. The two weren't entirely sure what to expect of their child, but Miwa turns out to be a completely normal human child.
Over the years as Yoshi and Tang Shen's love and family grew, Yoshi started pulling away from his birth family, and more noticeably, from Saki, who was you know pretty angry with Yoshi who seemingly disappeared on him with no explanation. Saki channels his anger into his search for the ningyo, and it takes three years but eventually he does finally find one.
Around three years after Miwa was born, Tang Shen and Yoshi welcome in four new kids! Quadruplets! Three boys and a girl. And these four, unlike Miwa, seem to all be fully ningyo, which very much surprised Yoshi and Tang Shen (both the fact that there were four kids and those four kids are all mermaids) but hey, they knew their genetic situation would be weird and they were fully ready to hop into raising these four.
It's only a few days after the birth of their quadruplets, so soon after that they haven't even given them names, that Saki stumbles upon the home of Yoshi and Tang Shen. And He Is Pissed. Not only did his BROTHER ABANDON him but he abandon him to start a family with this yokai? The yokai that he's been hunting all this time? And Saki, like in canon, kills Tang Shen and Miwa. (Or well you know, he kidnaps Miwa and renames her Karai but Yoshi thinks Miwa is dead)
Yoshi manages to get away with the quadruplets in the chaos, and he tries so hard to establish a new life for himself in Japan, but no matter where he goes, Saki manages to find him. Eventually Yoshi gets desperate enough to flee the country, and he finds himself in New York City!
But meanwhile back in Japan, Saki did in fact end up eating Tang Shen but idk how he realizes it but he figures out that he didnt get immortality, and so he concludes that oh, Tang Shen must have been tainted somehow by her relationship with Yoshi, which sucks because now he has to find a whole other ningyo to get immortality. Luckily he happens to know of four ningyo that he would be more than happy to kill, which is basically Saki's drive to finding and killing the Hamatos.
Anyways that's all I have so far!!!! I'm trying to think about how they would live in NYC, if they can somehow become human (in maybe like an H2O just add water situation) or if they are stuck in the water all the time.
I'm leaning towards them being able to shed their fish tails if even only for a small amount of time, just so they can still be ninjas and train on land, since I think Yoshi would still want to train them to defend themselves. I think that if they can be human for a bit, they still get dried out really easily so they can't stay out of the water for very long, probably not long enough for them to go to school full time, so they still live super isolated lives. Or maybe Yoshi figures out a way to train them to fight in the water? Idk suggestions are appreciated!
They do eventually meet April and Casey, I think April is gonna be on the swim team and so she's a fairly strong swimmer (for a human) and so she spends a lot of time in the water with the hamatos which they appreciate a lot! I think maybe Yoshi isn't a super strong swimmer so as much as he tries to spend time with his kids he can't really.
Casey is still on the hockey team and he can't swim, the hamatos try to teach him but they fully dont know how to swim with legs and so they are Bad tm swimming teachers salkdjfh.

Alright time for some lore dump for Yokai Stan
Thank you @multyfangirl16 as she help a lot with this, go check out the original post (I put at the bottom of this one) comments if you want more details
Mable and Dipper meeting the Grunkles
The younger twins to poke around and follow their gruncles into the weirdness that Ford studies.
Ford not wanting to hide the weird stuff from the kids but still scared that they might get hurt, But with Stan there, they've built a reputation and relationships with the forest folk.
So less are going to mess with the kids after several of the chatty folks learn that the brothers have niblings visiting. So for a while that only encounter smaller anomalies
Also They would probably meet lil Stan (his kid form) one day on there summer trip while running from a monsters and not even know it’s Stan. Dipper would come up with theories and Mable would just want to be friends with him while to two Grunkles try not to say much about it (the twins don’t find out till much later that Stan’s a yokai lol)
Once they find out about Stan-
Mable would freak out with how fluffy Stan’s form is and dipper just wants to ask millions of questions
Yokai Pines family
When Ford dies Stan would make a deal with the Yokai god to make his brother a Yokai too which is a lord tengu
While Stan doesn’t take his role very seriously his brother dose so Stan will help out with his duties
Because Stan doesn’t take his role very seriously that dose make other Kistune and other high rank yokai not view him in a high light and even some low ranks don’t like him but he doesn’t really care
Ford would be 1 of the not one of the usual tengu lords since he'd have a small group of friends, partly due to Stan dragging him out from time to time to socialize
Also once ford passed both grunkles do stay in yokai world more then in the human world but will show up (in “human form” or in a way that the rest of the there family won’t know)for special events
Once the twins do pass they will also become Yokai as well, dipper being a lower rank tengu and Mable being a Tanuki
Dipper would immediately be clocked as Ford's apprentice and the ones of Dipper's rank would probably be a bit jealous that he has a higher rank gruncle teaching/sharing knowledge with him.
Stan takes in Mable as his of course and the Pine family become a very powerful family who will take in anyone without a family and make a library/museum after a point so Ford and Dipper can share some of their vast knowledge. Stan and Mabel have a shared area where they can sell/trade their items and crafts with others in the building.
Soos and melody are never human but born yokai and they meet Stan and work for him and Ford
Soos-Shisna which is looks like a smaller version of a lion dragon things that guard temples, I could see Soos guarding wherever Stan is staying and taking packages. Melody- would be a two tailed cat- as there very nice and chill yokai and there usually massagers and deliver packages to other yokai from the human world, which is how she runs into Soos
He'd definitely have Melody run some of his human stuff to his(i image it more of a stash place) / his family's place from time to time.
This au is a Fiddauther route
While I don’t have a definitive partner for Stan
It takes a while before Fidds and ford finally get together (especially with both Emma May and Stan working together lol)
Because bill is not in this AU I think there relationship would work and Fiddleford and Emma may have a Lavander marriage and they both take care of Tate
And Tate is just happy with such a big family
Now will Fidds and Tate and even Emma want to become a yokai… while I think Fidds will I’m still thinking on Tate and Emma and I don’t know what Yokai Fidds would be.
Anyway I got more in store for this a AU and even some ocs which I haven’t made one of those in a while lol, next post will be more about early years and the Yokai Stan has a good and bad relationship with, and I’m open to all ideas :)

DPxP5 - The Fenton's Host Siblings
So Casper High hosts a foreign exchange student program with some school in Tokyo during the everlasting trio's junior year. Honestly Danny couldn't care less, just means more people exposed to the weirdness that is Amity Park. There are three reasons he even tangentially cares:
1. Tucker is a weeb and is far too eager to ask the Japanese kids about tech stuff, especially since google-translated articles can only do so much.
2. Sam has been complaining non-stop about the kids her parents have decided to host for the program, and how they're practically carbon copies of her mom. (Something Tucker isn't complaining about)
3. His own parents got the idea to host a couple of kids for the program as well.
So he gets host-siblings for a few months. A boy around his age named Ren, and a girl a year younger named Futaba. Oh, and Ren's 'emotional support' cat Morgana. Lovely.
When the two arrive, they seem normal enough. Quiet and polite, Ren doing most of the talking. Once Jack mentions the lab downstairs tho, Futaba's face lights up. She immediately asks about it and to be shown around. Danny and Jazz share a look of 'oh no' before their parents go about showing their host siblings the ghost lab.
Surprisingly, Futaba is incredibly interested - citing that her late mother was a researcher for something similarly supernatural. Ren is... Incredibly quiet. Staring at the portal when he's not being addressed. Almost like it's familiar to him.
But why would it be? Natural ghost portals are incredibly few and far between. Unless...
What's even wierder is how he isn't all that phased about the reality of ghosts and spirits. He says it's because of stories he heard growing up in a small town - yokai are a whole other beast - but Danny doesn't quite buy it.
So he gets suspicious of his new host brother. Asking Jazz about it isn't much help. She just calls him paranoid, tells him to give them a chance - that it's their first day here, there's plenty of 'haunted' or 'cursed' places in Japan. He sighs and aceepts the answer. Reluctantly.
But then the damn cat keeps giving him a wide berth. Ren explains that Morgana (or Mona-chan as Danny hears from Futaba) isn't too fond of a lot of guys, but he'll warm up. It makes sense - and unknowingly gives a bit of gender euphoria for Danny - but doesn't fully ease him. He's a acutely aware of how animals react to his 'ghostly presence', even in human form. And it's odd - almost like the little furball understands Ren and Futaba when they speak to him. Not just in a 'he can pick out hos favorite and least favorite words' way a lot of animals have. But actually responds to more neutral 'commands' from the two.
It kinda freaks him out. And only adds to his suspicions.
The only reason he doesn't immediately go ghost and interrogate them is bc they're under the same roof. Maybe once school starts...

Note
hello!! i saw the tags on your pinned post abt how shoujo wasn't just romance and it got me curious bc i've read some nice shoujo but really dislike romance-heavy plots. are there any shoujos you like that don't have much or any romance in them? ty and i hope you have a good day! 💛
Oh, there are lots of mangas that are classified as shoujo and don't have romance!!
I am just now beginning my journey through shoujo as well, so I don't have a lot of recommendations for stuff I actually read, but the ones I did read or watch so far are:
Natsume Yuujinchou and basically anything else by its author, Yuki Midorikawa. Sometimes, her works do include romance, but the focus is almost always in the interpersonal relationships and the difficulties her characters go through in life. NatsuYuu is about an orphan boy who can see yokai, and for that reason he acts in "weird" ways and his foster families dislike him, so he keeps going from family to family. The story is about how he finds a good family who accepts and loves him, makes friends, and learns to make friends even with yokais.
There are currently 6 anime seasons out, and a 7th season is on its way, so you can either read the manga or watch the anime.
Tumblr media
Akatsuki no Yona - i mean, this one does include romance, but i'll still put it on the list because as far as the anime went the focus is heavy on Yona's actual journey to gather the dragons of legend to be able to recover the kingdom that was stolen from her. It shows how Yona goes from a sheltered spoiled girl to a person befitting the title of dragon king.
Tumblr media
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom - this one is the og villainess isekai and it truly deserves the hype. It is about a girl who wakes up in the child body of the villainess of her favorite otome game. She remembers that the villainess' fate in the game was always either death or exile, so she tries her hardest to change her fate. This one is classified as a reverse harem, but the main character is pretty oblivious and worries more about farming and eating sweets and generally being the best girl ever than actually worrying about romance. Aro ace queen tbh. And her harem is just happy to be with her and be dragged along for her stupid adventures. Plus, the female members of her harem are taken seriously as well, Mary is a raging lesbian and it is not subtext. I mean, it is a shoujo, so of course the female characters would be important lol.
Tumblr media
Usagi Drop - listen to me. You will absolutely not look for anything related to this manga. If you like the premise you can watch the anime. But, please, do not look for the manga. You will only be extremely disappointed by it. That being said, I recommend the anime. It is about a man who returns home for his grandfather's funeral and then finds out his grandfather had an illegitimate daughter who has now become an orphan. He ends up having to take care of her because the rest of the family considers her a shame to the family.
Tumblr media
Now, for the stuff I havent seen yet, I'll just write some that are on my "plan to read" list and put their genres next to their names so you can check it out if you think the genre's sound interesting:
7 Seeds (drama, horror, psychological, sci fi, survival)
Requiem of the Rose King (drama, historical, supernatural, gender identity)
Basara (drama, fantasy, adventure) (i think this one has romance, but from what i've heard, the main character's story is a lot deeper as she takes her brother's identity in order to fight against the king who killed her brother, it is pretty famous and considered a classic)
Ghost Hunt (horror, mystery, psychological, supernatural)
Helter Skelter (horror, psychological)
My Stepmother and Stepsisters aren't Wicked (comedy, historical, slice of life)
Ikoku Nikki (drama) (this one is the one i'm currently most interested on, i hear it's about a distant woman who's never had a good relationship with her sister and now has to take care of her teenage niece because her sister died)
Itsuwari no Freya (crossdressing, historical)
Limit (drama, psychological, school) (this one sounds incredible tbh, on a field trip their bus gets into an accident and only 5 girls remain, having to learn to survive and trying to assert themselves over one another because they hate each other.)
Machida-kun no sekai (school)
Mitarai-ke, Enjou suru (drama) (the main character wants to infiltrate the household of the family who blamed her mother for a fire, in order to prove her mother's innocence)
Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You (comedy)
Uramichi Oniisan (comedy, showbiz, workplace)
Usotoki Rhetoric (mystery, historical)
Don't Call It Mystery (mystery)
If anyone has more things to recommend I would also love to hear about it!!
