How JJK men react to different insecurities part 1
Pairings: Nanami x reader with facial scars (reqested by @ynackerman9499) Megumi x fem! reader with small breasts (requested by anon) Sukuna x reader with acne (requested by @sanicsmut)
Word Count: 2,9k
Warnings: if you feel triggered by any of those insecurities please don't read it, I'm writing this out of an insecure pov - there's nothing wrong with having scars, acne or small breasts okay 🤍 Hope y'all enjoy 🤍
Kento Nanami - facial scars
Tumblr media
You look at yourself in the mirror, eyes already starting to sting in tears. Why? Why did it have to end like this? You were never a pity person, never worried too much about looks. But this, this is something completely different.
“Hey darling, are you okay?”
“Yeah…”, you mumble in response, shaky hand mindlessly dropping your toothbrush into the sink.
You hate the way you look, the way those ugly scars are now a part of your face that will never fade away. Even though you are lucky you even survived, even though all that counts for you is that your precious boyfriend is still around, you’ve been avoiding looking at your own self ever since, covering yourself with makeup and masks even around him.
Him. Kento Nanami. The light of your life, the best boyfriend you could ask for. He told you over and over how much he loves you, that he couldn’t care less about a few scars decorating your face. But ever since that fateful day, you hid yourself very well from him – so well that he hasn’t seen your face ever since.
“Hey, what’s wrong?”, a gentle voice behind you mumbles.
Before you are able to react, he wraps his arms around you from behind and presses your body against his large frame. Frantically, you cover your face with your hands, your mask laying on top of the shelf on the other side of the room. Fuck, why didn’t you lock the door as usual? How could you be so careless? If he gets to see you like this, a jaw-dropping gorgeous man like Kento…
Would he still love you after seeing you like this when you aren’t even able to accept yourself?
“Please stop hiding from me, (y/n). I know the last weeks were rough, that you are insecure about the scars the fight left on your face. But please, just let me look at you without makeup or that mask, let me finally see the love of my life again. You are too precious to not be looked at.”
“I’m not”, you cough out.
Don’t cry, don’t make it more embarrassing than it already is. You have always been so strong, so independent. Crying over something ridiculous like this doesn’t suit you at all. You know yourself that it’s stupid, hiding from the love of your life because of a few scars. But every time you look into the mirror, you see nothing but a crippled version of what you used to be, a shadow of the person Kento fell in love with.
You couldn’t take it. Over and over, you imagined how he’d stare at you with disgust creeping up his face, turning away from you and never coming back. No wonder, Kento is a very attractive man after all, women hitting on him every time both of you go out. But you…One single glimpse in the mirror is enough to make you shiver, to let a single tear fall down your eye.
You are far away from being attractive by now.
“I hate seeing you like this and it truly breaks my heart that I’m not able to see your gorgeous face anymore-“
“Because it’s not”, you scream so suddenly that he flinches.
“I look nothing like the person you fell in love with years ago! I-I’m nothing but a shadow of myself, Kento! If you see me like this, you…”
You can’t put it into words, the thought alone cutting through your heart like a knife through warm butter. He’s better off without you and you know it, he’d definitely be able to pull a nice partner for himself, one that doesn’t look as worn down as yourself. But your heart simply can’t take it, just thinking about him with someone else feels like dying from inside.
You can’t lose him. Even if it’s selfish.
“(y/n).”
Gently, he positions himself in front of you and grabs your face. You want to run away, want to hide your ugly scars from his gaze. But instead, you just stare at him blankly, tears rolling down your cheeks like a waterfall by now. Is this the moment, the moment he realizes that he doesn’t want to be with you anymore?
“Just like I expected. You look as breath-taking as you did back then. These scars show nothing but how strong you are, that you are able to survive everything. Why would you ever suggest that I’d leave you because of something like this? You are my treasure, my everything, (y/n). Wouldn’t you love me if I had scars all over my face?”
“Of course I would”, you sniff immediately.
Kento smiles down at you softy, placing a kiss on every little scar on your face while you cry your eyes out.
How? How do you even deserve a caring man like him, how is he still able to look at you with nothing but affection in his eyes?
“See? Now, put away those masks and your makeup and be proud of what you did, okay? You saved the lives of our first years. Never forget how strong you are.”
“I love you more than anything else, Kento”, you mumble before pressing your face against his firm chest and getting lost in his scent.
“I love you too, darling. Maybe even more with those scars.”
Megumi Fushiguro - small breasts
Tumblr media
You watch in sheer disinterest as a random girl from another Jujutsu sorcerer school positions herself in front of you, her cheeky grin almost eating you up alive.
“And who are you?”
“I’m (y/n) and a student here at Jujutsu High”, you remark dryly, not interested the slightest in her cheeky tone.
From the outside, she definitely looks like a dream girl. Tall but not too tall, blonde but not too blonde, doe eyes but not too innocent. And not to mention, the big pair of cherries that seems to stare right through your soul.
Even though you know that you are a decent looking girl, this one thing about your body always made you feel insecure. Every damn day of puberty, you hoped for a miracle overnight, that your breast might eventually start growing. But of course, that never happened.
Instead, you seem to be stuck with small boobs until the end of time. And while it definitely has its advantages here and there, it always makes you feel bad about yourself when you see girls like her, girls who are blessed with those natural curves.
“What kind of woman is your type?”, you suddenly hear from afar, ears perking up just the slightest.
“I don’t know.”
You swallow. That voice you know all to well, the voice of bored Megumi Fushiguro. Who is he talking to? And why on earth does your heart start racing, waiting desperately for his response?
“Are you more like an ass or a boob guy?”
“As long as they have an unshakable character, I won’t ask for more.”
“I saw the way you blinked when I said boobs.”
“There’s nothing wrong with admitting the truth”, Yuji interjects.
“Even if I do, what’s the purpose of all these stupid questions!?”
Your heart sinks. Ever since you’ve joined Jujutsu High, you always had both eyes set on that gorgeous boy. And even though it always seemed a little ridiculous, you thought he even liked you back from time to time. How stupid it was to think that a boy like him would want a girl like you, how stupid to even consider you are his type. Aren’t all boys nowadays into big boobs or big butts?
To be honest, you have neither.
“Why are you looking at me so sad now? Oh, are you jealous? Don’t worry, not everyone has the right to be blessed by mother nature. You’ll find someone who loves you the way you are, though – looking like a stick.”
Her words. Her venomous words shouldn’t hit you with full force, her words shouldn’t make tears sting in the corners of your eyes.
But oh they do.
With a swift motion, you get up from the stairs you were sitting on, running up as fast as you can to avoid curious looks. Damn, how was a bitch like her able to make you feel this miserable, why does it even bother you this much that you have a smaller chest?
Because everyone around you doesn’t have this issue. Because it seems like you’re the only one who isn’t blessed. Even Nobara and Maki have bigger boobs than you, even though Maki is well-trained. Why do you have to look this way? And why…
Why isn’t this what Megumi wants?
“Have you seen her? That looked like (y/n) running into that room”, Megumi mutters, looking after you in confusion.
Why would you run into a storage room so rapidly? You almost looked sad, as if something hurt you. He clenches his fist, not even caring about Yuji’s answer anymore. Out of all people, you are the one who shouldn’t feel bad a single moment, whoever did this to you will-“
“(y/n)”, he breathes out.
There you sit, back against the wall and your face in your hands, tears visibly running down your face. His heart almost stops. Megumi has never seen you cry, you were always the cool and composed one. What made you sit there, crying your eyes out?
“Don’t look at me”, you spit at him, turning away in an instant while hugging your knees.
Your words hit him with full force. Why did you sound so furious, did he do something wrong?
“But (y/n), I want to know what-“
“You’re not interested in my anyway, aren’t you?”
You know all too well how ridiculous and childish your words sound, but you can’t keep yourself together. All these months you roamed after him, thought you’d really stand a chance. And now…
And now Megumi Fushiguro isn’t into girls with small breasts?
“Why would you think that?”, he replies in an instant.
Instinctively, he rushes to your side, his mind racing. When did he ever give you the idea that he isn’t interested in you? Of course, he wasn’t exactly clear about it. After all, he himself was scared that you might not be interested in him and everything would turn out awkward after his confession. But did he really treat you this badly?
“Didn’t you say it yourself?”
The venomous tone of your voice makes him flinch. Even with your face puffy from all the tears and twisted in agony, you still look absolutely breath-taking. God, when did he mess up so bad? He can’t lose you like this, not when he doesn’t even know what happened-
“If you’re not attracted to girls with small breasts, I’m certainly not the one for you.”
Megumi has to blink a few times, mind trying to understand the words that just left your mouth. He, into girls with big breast? He, not into you? It doesn’t make any sense. You, the most wonderful girl walking on this earth? You with a body that makes his knees go weak in an instant? You, the girl he’s hopelessly in love with?
“What are you talking about? You are the only one I care about”, he clarifies before thinking twice.
Your heart skips a beat, eyes darting towards him in an instant. One look into his innocent orbs tells you that he isn’t just lying into your face, that he actually means what he just said. Does that mean…?
“B-but…Just a few moments ago, you said it yourself!”, you demand weakly.
“You mean my conversation with that guy from Kyoto? (y/n), I couldn’t care less about things like that. The only think that’s important for me is your character made of pure gold, okay? And also, I love your body the way it is. You look absolutely stunning. And your breast do too.”
In an instant, your cheeks turn bright red. Oh god, did he really just say that? Megumi wants to punch himself for his unfiltered words, for the fact that he clearly made you uncomfortable. Is there a way out of this misery?
“I-I mean…I think they look really good. You look really good. You don’t need big breasts for that. And I imagine small breast have their-“
“Please”, you interrupt him.
“I get it, but can we please stop talking about my boobs like that?”
Ryomen Sukuna - acne
Tumblr media
“A pretty bad position you put yourself him, huh?”, the king of curses in front of you sneers.
Your hands fight desperately against the invisible chains, eyes searching for the tiniest possibility of a way out. But it’s impossible. After all, you aren’t held hostage by anyone. No, the man who’s sitting in front of you with his head resting in his hand is none other than Sukuna himself.
“Rather a position you put me in, idiot”, you bite back.
He chuckles unpromising, hand grabbing your chin before you’re even able to fight back. His eyes let your blood freeze in your veins, heart pumping so loudly that you bet he can hear it from afar.
“I don’t need to remind you that you’re here because you’re fighting for the wrong side, right?”
“The wrong side? Whose side is right, then?”
“Mine, of course.”
You snort disdainfully, yanking your chin out of his firm grasp. This guy has some nerves, talking down at you when you were out there enjoying yourself.
“I bet you’d fit well right by my side. You’re strong, you’re hot-“
“Don’t call me hot”, you interrupt immediately.
Out of instinct, you turn your face away from him. The face that makes you feel uncomfortable every time someone looks at it, the face that is responsible for multiple dumb comments you received when you were still at school. You know it’s a quite common thing. Many people fight against acne, some worse than you. But god, how much you hate to look at yourself, to see a new red spot on your face each and every day. No one at Jujutsu High ever pointed it out or looked at you in disgust. Yes, the times were people picked on you because of your acne are long gone.
But oh, their comments still haunt you, they still make you believe that you will never be able to be fully beautiful with those things covering your damn face.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
May the ground swallow you whole and get you out of this uncomfortable position. Why on earth does it have to be Sukuna who gets curious about you rejecting his compliment? Why can’t Yuji just regain the control over his body and put an end to your suffering?
“Because it’s a lie”, you press out.
Again, Sukuna gets a hold of your chin, his face now so near that you aren’t able to escape his stinging gaze anymore.
“Why are you saying that, brat?”
“Are you blind or something?”, you bark at him.
It feels like back then when your classmates used to pick on you. But this time, it isn’t a dumb kid that just wants to make fun of you. No, this time it’s actually the king of curses who toys with your insecurity, the only sore point you have about yourself.
“You may be. Because I don’t get why you’re talking down yourself like that.”
“Don’t you see that stuff covering my whole face?”
You can’t take it anymore, his intense staring paired with your own embarrassment. Within the last months, you really thought you got over the fact that your acne won’t go away that fast, that you’ll have to fight for it to disappear. And since no one ever mentioned it at Jujutsu High, you began to tolerate the red marks covering your skin. But at this moment, your sensitive confidence seems to shatter.
“And what about it? I don’t get what you’re talking about, brat”, Sukuna remarks dryly.
You blink a few times. The bored expression on his face tells you more than clearly that he isn’t making fun of you at all. Is it really possible that Ryomen Sukuna meant what he said, that he isn’t bothered about your face?
“I have acne all over my face”, you breathe out.
He rolls his eyes and shrugs his shoulders, hand moving your chin right and left.
“I don’t give zero fucks about that.”
It’s a simple answer, an answer spat in your face with disinterest. But oh does it make sparks fly around you and your heart almost beat out of your chest. The king of curses doesn’t care about acne.
The fucking king of curses called you hot despite your face is covered in red spots.
“I don’t know why anyone would care about shit like that. You’re strong and you’re hot, what about those spots?”, he continues while rolling his eyes.
“You really mean it”, you mutter more to yourself than him, a smile creeping up your face.
You feel like a little girl, the urge to giggle and jump up and down almost becoming unbearable. He really finds you hot. He really saw your face and lost not a single thought about your acne.
And he’s the king of curses.
“Why are you looking at me like that, brat? Did you forget that I kidnapped you?”
“Oh, you can kidnap me anytime”, you answer almost euphoric.
Sukuna tilts his head, eyes scanning you up and down.
“Humans really are strange.”

gojo satoru x reader fic recs (I)
Tumblr media
‣ now that i've got loads of free time, thought why shouldn't i use it well by showing (few of) my fave authors their much well-deserved love, respect and attention? ^_^
‣ this is merely a list of works i've enjoyed reading. kindly heed the tags and warnings in each of them and consume content responsibly, at your own discretion. that being said, i own neither these fics nor the characters nor the above gif. enjoy reading! 🥰
⌀ all that is solid [series] by GrilledTandooriSmoke on ao3
one of the best series there is. period. the fluff, the angst, the drama, the humor, the romance, the friendship, the plot, the dialogues - everything is top-notch in this series, i'm telling you. bonus points for being narrated in both reader's and gojo's pov.
⌀ The King is But a Man [series] by Petrichorium on ao3 (@petrichorium on tumblr)
royal!gojo who's terribly in love with the reader x reader who's equally (but way more discreetly) in love with gojo. add to that, the trope of childhood sweethearts reunited as adults, excellent communication between the couple and a wonderfully-crafted world and dialogues - what more could you ask from a series?
⌀ Ten to None (Soulmate AU) (oneshot) by Oreosmama on ao3
a fic which i adore with every fibre of my being. i will not say anything more about this, except to request you to go read this. you'll love it. (especially the fantabulous ending. btw, did i already say how much i'm in love with how well-written this fic is?)
⌀ Scarred [oneshot] by cainis on ao3
one of the best angst-with-a-happy-ending fic there is. i wish i could give thousands of kudos for the heart-wrenchingly amazing way the author has portrayed gojo's character here.
⌀ Mother of otherness, Eat me [oneshot] by itsbaby on ao3
one of the most beautiful works i've read so far. told from yuuji's pov, it explores gojo and reader's relationship and its nuances in a way seldom done before. however, what stole the show for me, was the soft and sweet mother-son duo the reader and yuuji grow to be in this fic. i really love this one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
⌀ something sweet [oneshot] by heresan on ao3 (@pretty-toru on tumblr)
i love love love this fic. it's so fluffy, so funny, so cute, so heart-warming... just read this fic, people. you won't ever be disappointed by the dynamics reader and gojo have in this one. one of my all-time faves, tbh.
⌀ teen dad Gojo [series] by pantao on ao3 (@seravphs on tumblr)
a sweet and realistic depiction of reader and gojo being teenaged parents to young megumi, all the while they try to figure out their feelings for each other. a perfect mixture of fluff, angst, drama, slice-of-life and romance, imo. (also, the author's notes are pure gold. whatever you do, please don't miss reading them! :D)
⌀ To see those eyes I prize above mine own (twoshot) by koyama on ao3
if you wish to watch godlike!gojo willing to let go of his powers, out of guilt and immense, immense, protective love for the reader, this is the ideal fic for you. i'm in awe of the way the writer wrote gojo's complex persona and the way the sorcerer realized his feelings for the reader. (the second chapter's the cherry on the cake. it's so good!!!!)
⌀ keeping up with the fushigojos (series) by @augustinewrites on tumblr
fluff? A+; angst? A+; drama? A+; characterization & dialogues? A+; humour? A+++++. a sureshot way to end a long hectic tiring day on a happy note is to read this series. (my go-to comfort series, ngl. :])
⌀ CAT & DOG (oneshot) by @mimiriko on tumblr
an adorable fic of gojo being in love with the reader, who knows, yet doesn't really know, much about it. plus, the feline-like features of gojo are sooo cute... and this fic is sooo sweet... the story left me smiling when i finished reading it.
⌀ surely summer wasn't over yet [3 chapters] by 3rdgymbros on ao3
an amazing fic set against the backdrop of the hidden inventory arc. the portrayal of the characters and their dynamics is simply impeccable. despite my kind-of-dislike towards this particular arc of the manga, i really enjoyed reading this one.

☀️Yandere!Apollo with a Female!Gojo!Reader☀️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is from a poll I made. This was the most voted on that poll (God's School Aphrodite!Reader and Mitsuri!Reader both tied for second, but I'll do those as well.)
The first part is told in the narrator's pov, then it's in your pov.
This won't follow the original plot, so in this, Geto is on Gojo!reader's side!
Reader is 28, which is Gojo's canon age in the series (This won't contain spoilers from the manga, so don't worry!)
Also, thank you @forbidden-sunlight for helping me think of a plot for this!! Appreciate it! 👍
Hades hasn't felt this stressed out over anything in his life.
Multiple reports stated that these creatures called Curses have been the source of his stress. Not only were they killing thousands of humans, but they were also destroying the bifrost, the gate that only the chief gods can access, himself included.
He's tried to take care of them himself, but he couldn't exactly get rid of them. So he resorted to letting sorcerers kill them since they were one of the only ones who can effectively take them on.
(Y/n) Gojo is one of the strongest sorcerers he has, so she was the one who was constantly working. She's one of the only sorcerers who can take down even the strongest curses with ease.
She refused to do so, unless he lets her three students go with her so they can grow. He was against it at first, seeing how they were teenagers, practically kids! But (Y/n) wouldn't have it any other way. Hades reluctantly let her three students go with her.
Yuuji Itadori, a 15 year old boy who was the host of the king of curses, Ryomen Sukuna, Megumi Fushiguro, another 15 year old boy who seemed to be Sukuna's interest and Nobara Kugisaki, a teenage girl.
During the three months of eliminating curses, her students have continued to grow stronger.
They were her precious students, and she won't allow anyone to separate them from her....
Tumblr media
"How long until we find this curse?" Nobara complained, already feeling bored from the long walking. Megumi rolled his eyes and continued looking around. Yuuji didn't complain at all and was helping Megumi.
"Relax, we'll find that curse!" Yuuji said, smiling at Nobara.
"He's so handsome." A female said to herself, catching the three teenager's attention, as well as yours. The female revealed herself to be a nymph, but as soon as she was visible, the curse had appeared and brutally murdered the nymph. Megumi immediately summoned his wolves, the black and white ones ready to fight the curse.
A certain god with long, pink hair was nearby, wanting to take a break from the nymphs. Apollo had heard the commotion and went over to see what was going on. The god saw three teenage kids fighting a curse along with a grown woman with a blindfold over her eyes.
But this curse proved to be too much for the three teenagers and you had to finish it off, which you did with ease using black flash.
"I've never seen a human perform such a technique. It's.... Amazing."
Unbeknownst to the four of them, the same god had watched the whole fight, more focused on you. You're very beautiful, and he knew it.
A man your age with long black hair with parts of it tied up came over, asking you to go relax, even for just a bit. At first, you refused because you didn't want to be separated from your students, but they managed to convince you.
You lifted your blindfold up, revealing one of the most beautiful eyes Apollo has ever seen in his immortal life. Multiple sparkles of lights reflected brightly in your sky blue eyes, layered by white eyelashes.
"Her eyes.... They're like the blue skies themselves...." Apollo thought.
"Sure. I can also take a load off for a bit." You replied, putting the blindfold over your eyes. You urged them to go ahead, while you follow behind. When they were far enough, Apollo decided now was the time to get the woman's attention.
"Hey!"
You turned your head, seeing the pink haired God approach you with a smirk on his face. You now looked slightly disinterested, though it was hard to tell.
"I assume you're Apollo?~" You asked, folding your arms. Apollo felt his confidence grow from your acknowledgement of him.
"I am. But that's not why I'm here." Apollo replied, flipping some of his hair back.
"Make it quick then." You said.
"I've seen your beautiful techniques and-"
"Not interested. I've already did what I needed to do for now, and I'd like to relax." (Y/n) replied, turning back around and started walking away. Apollo was surprised at her answer, just watching her leave.
"What?- You-"
"Besides... You're too weak~" You finally spoke, looking back with a grin and looking forward. Apollo knows he should be angry at the audacity of this woman. But he couldn't. Instead...
He was more attracted to her.
And so began his little quest to win your heart. Ever since then, he's been watching your every step, figuring out your likes and dislikes and more effective ways to get closer to you.
Whenever he meets you in person, he later found out that you were oddly playful and nonchalant, despite your cruelty towards curses. Your interactions slowly grew, even if Apollo had to do it first. At first, you didn't want anything to do with Apollo, but he keeps coming to you, so you just let him do whatever.
But doing that only increased his love for you.
Apollo has always seen you with the man with long black hair, whose name is Geto Suguru. From your interactions with him, he has a strong connection with you, and it enrages him. He hates the way Suguru gets close to you. He didn't like the attention you give Geto. You always greeted with a playful smile, and he wishes he was the one you smile at.
He has to get rid of him, so you can only give him the attention you give Geto. Geto Suguru.... Has to go.
So that you'll have no choice but to love him and him only~

Megumi Fushiguro ☆ 'Aight Bet'
Tumblr media
Megumi x Fem!Reader
Genre: ☁️
Word Count: 2648
Trigger warnings ⚠️: swearing, none!
a/n: WHEREVER THAT SWEET SWEET ANON IS THAT REQUESTED THIS....KNOW THAT I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU 💜
I did my best for you, and wherever you are, I hope you really like it and enjoy it! p.s it wasn't cringe at all, cause I remember you apologising 😉🥰
this is slightly based on the bonus ending of 'Nightmares' fanfic but not the same story if ygm?
You can go and read nightmares here!
Second person POV
"Bet you guys, 2000¥ they have held hands."
"Aight bet! I bet you 3000¥ they have hugged!"
It was the training session in Tokyo Jujutsu High and you and Megumi were sparring as you had been put in a pair.
However, for the rest of the students this was more of a gossip session.
The thing is everyone ships you and Megumi, it is pretty clear to see you like each other from a third person perspective but you are both too dense to notice each other's feelings.
It was true, you did have the biggest crush on Megumi and you thought you played it pretty cool but there is no denying you do stare at him as much as you can whenever you get the chance.
However, on the other hand, Megumi was rather obvious with his crush towards you, not because he was trying to be, but because he is unconsciously 100x nicer to you compared to the rest of Jujutsu High.
Nobara and Yuji had been going back and forth splurging their whole bank accounts on betting on the amount of romance that both you and Megumi had engaged in with each other.
"Guys, on a serious note...how fucking dense are they like...look at how they are sparring..." Maki scoffed and she folded her arms smirking, nodding her head to you and Megumi sparring with passion and a lot of physical contact.
"Wasn't that like you and Yuta in first year though?" Panda chirped up, raising an eyebrow to Maki.
"Salmon." Inumaki agreed with Panda nodding.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Maki shouted, huffing and denying all allegations.
"I do see Maki's point...I wish we could make them confess when they have no choice....." Yuji mumbled as everyone nodded silently agreeing with Yuji.
"Why wish when we can actually do it!" Gojo randomly came up behind the students, hands on his hips, looking awfully mischievous.
"Where did you come from?" Maki asked feeling genuinely confused.
"I do agree with you guys that these two lovebirds need to get together, fast....so I'm thinking we set up a little party that only they are invited too!" Gojo completely ignored Maki as he explained his oddly well thought out plan to the students.
"Hmm, that's actually a good idea...but what if they still don't do anything?" Panda asks.
"Good point my fellow Panda..." Gojo placed a finger on his chin pondering the solution to the dilemma Panda brought up.
"I know! I will write a simple riddle for them to read and hopefully they will get the memo and say their vows and stuff!" Gojo clapped his hand together as he came up with the 'perfect plan'
As everyone was still discussing the plan to get you and Megumi together once and for all you both started walking up to the group.
"Hey guys! Whatcha talking about?" you asked walking up with a smile next to Megumi, both of you completely oblivious to the evil plan that has been made.
Everyone went awkwardly silent making you slightly worried.
"Um are you guys okay?" you asked worry laced in your voice as you started feeling self conscious.
"Y/N!! Megumi! I was just telling everyone how I'm arranging a small party for us all tomorrow to celebrate togetherness!" Gojo swiped both you and Megumi into a side hug smiling ecstatically.
"Oh my that's going to be so fun! I can't wait!" you giggled as you felt very excited as you rarely got to do things like this in school.
"...do I have to go?" Megumi grumbled shrugging himself off Gojo, walking off slowly. This immediately made you feel sad. Whilst all the other students felt panicked as the plan was already failing.
"Megumiiiii pleaseeeee! It will be so fun, trust me and if it isn't I will treat you to whatever you want!" you grabbed onto Megumi's hand shaking it as you were practically begging him.
Obviously he couldn't say no as his ears dusted a light pink and he stuttered slightly.
"F-Fine, I'm only going because you said so...." he looked away as you gave him a big hug.
"Thank you, thank you, thank youuu!!" you let go and smiled at him warmly as he smiled back. "Let's go get some drinks from the vending machines."
You and Megumi left the group without another word as they all stayed silent for a bit.
"Hey Yuji?"
"Yeah Nobara?"
"You owe me 2000¥"
"Well you owe me 1000¥"
Time skip!
The next day arrived quickly and you found yourself feeling jittery and excited.
Today was the day of the little party and you felt this was your opportunity to have Megumi really appreciate your beauty whilst pretending you didn't spend 3 hours deciding what to wear.
You also wanted to be fashionably late so you didn't seem like a loser for wanting to be so early.
Gojo had said the theme was fancy, so of course you wore the fanciest dress you owned with some fancy makeup and hair.
You couldn't wait to see Megumi all suited up, the thought made you kick your legs and giggle to yourself.
You decided that you would leave now walking through the dorm corridors to the classroom that Gojo said the party would be in.
Funnily enough, as you arrived to the door, Megumi arrived at the same time and your eyes widened at how amazingly handsome he looked.
He was a fine piece of art. The suit he wore suit him so much it hurt and for some reason his eyelashes made you fold.
Megumi took a moment to take you, in his mouth slightly open from shock at the beauty beholded right in front of his eyes.
"You look....beautiful Y/N." Megumi said to you as if he spoke faster than his mind could register.
You face burned red as you looked away giggling slightly before looking back at him.
"Thank you Megumi, you look ever so handsome too" it was Megumi's turn to blush as he smiled lightly rubbing his neck and looking a away his cheeks flushed pink.
"Shall we go in?" after a bit of silence Megumi gestures for you both to go in the oddly quiet room.
Megumi held the door open for you as you gave a small 'thank you' and he entered after you but in the room, no one and nothing was there only a table and a note.
"Um Megumi-" you turn back to see Megumi behind you looking as confused as you.
Suddenly you heard a door lock as you instinctively reached for Megumi's arm as he pulled you close.
"It's okay im sure it isn't really locked." Megumi went to try and open the door. No luck.
"Oh dear...what's going on?" you look around feeling your arm hairs stand on end.
"Maybe we can read through that note there, I bet Gojo sensei is just messing around with us..." you nodded and move close to Megumi as you both approach the letter.
Megumi picks up the letter and opens it.
"If by dawn, you confess without waver, then you will not have to fear the power of the taser?..." Megumi sounded genuinely confused at the weird riddle that made no sense as you snorted.
"I don't know if I am more confused or scared right now..." you both chuckle together.
"Well, I guess we should confess something? Maybe a secret or something? So we don't get...tasered?" Megumi says still sounding extremely uncertain but you shrug it off desperate to find out what is going on.
You then realised you were alone with Megumi. In a locked room. The thought made you blush and smile softly.
"Erm, earth to Y/N?" Megumi waved his hands infront of your face as you snapped out of your thoughts realising you got a bit too lost in them.
"Yes your right! Sorry I zoned out....hmm maybe a game of truth or dare? I can't lie this shit makes no sense to me..." you sighed placing a hand on your forehead, whatever were the others thinking?
"I second that...I'm not surprised...Gojo is an odd specimen." Megumi deadpanned, making you laugh loudly.
"You aren't wrong there....anyways sit down!" you grabbed Megumi's shoulder and sit him on the couch in the back of the room, and you sit next to him as you both turn so you're facing each other.
"Okay! Truth or Dare?!" you smiled widely feeling too excited about this game. To be honest, your plan was to see if Megumi liked anyone and if there was any chance it could be you.
"Ummm truth?"
He was falling in your trap.
"Do you like anyone~? And for what reason?" Megumi's eyes widened and his cheeks and ears turned a light pink.
"...Yes....because she is pretty, kind, soft-spoken, easy to get on with and makes me genuinely happy" Megumi mumbled his whole answer looking away from you at all times, despite the small genuine smile that graced his lips.
Despite his reluctance to answer, Megumi couldn't hide how much he liked you, because you were so perfect in his eyes.
"Oh my!!! That's so kind, whoever gets with you is a lucky girl!" you chuckled as you playfully pushed his arm.
"Thanks...now, your turn truth or dare." Megumi sighed feeling relief as he nearly exposed himself.
"Hmm I shall go with truth!"
"Do you like anyone and if so why?" you smiled softly and shut your eyes.
"Of course I do! He can be a bit grumpy sometimes...but he is honestly such a kind person and he makes me feel all weird inside, but also makes me feel safe." you opened your eyes staring into Megumi's eyes as Megumi gave a forced smile back.
At the moment, in Megumi's mind his heart felt crushed. You liked someone....and the person who fit that criteria was Nanami. How in the hell? You were wayyy younger than him....maybe you were into older men, he couldn't deny his amazingly good and chisled looks, but even so-
"Megumi!! It's your turn!" you interrupted Megumi's thoughts as you tapped his cheek softy to get his attention.
"O-Oh my bad...dare?" he chose dare because he didn't want you to make him confess his unrequited love for you.
"I dare you to tell me who you like!" you smiled innocently as Megumi stared at you shocked, as if he had been stabbed in the gut.
"Y-You can't do that! That's not how the game works!" Megumi started scooting back as he sweatdropped. You just inched closer and closer.
"It is a dare. You have to do it. No backing out." you caged Megumi, with his back resting on the arm of the couch, your hands resting either side of him.
Megumi sighed in defeat. What was the worst that would happen? He gets awkward around you and you friendship is over? That's pretty bad...oh well...
"...you..." Megumi looked away as your eyes widened and you backed up from shock.
"Wait what?"
"....I said you, but I know you don't like me back, I can see why Nanami is in your agenda..." Megumi started rambling.
All those things he said, were about you? You smiled the most genuinely happy smile at Megumi making him look at you wide eyed and confused.
"Megumi, I like you too! What are the odds huh?" you spontaneous wrapped your arms around him squeezing him tight as he slowly wrapped his arm around you, the other arm keeping his body up on the couch.
"Wait so you don't like Nanami?" you pulled away as you gave Megumi the most confused look of the century before you burst out laughing
"Oh Megumi~ why would you think that? How could I ever do that....kinda sketchy no?" you pinched his cheek teasing him as he flushed an even brighter red.
"Well I thought he fit the criteria when I asked you why you liked them..." you smiled warmly at Megumi, your cheeks going pink.
"That was all you Megs. I honestly do really like you and admire you, I'm glad that you're in my life." you held his hands tightly as he squeezed back.
"I-I could say the same to you. You are so beautiful and kind and...and I really do like you. Sorry for thinking you like Nanami...." you giggled again, going in for another hug.
"It all okay, maybe next time don't be so dense." You pulled away and pinched his nose.
You faces were inches away from each other and you desperately wanted to kiss him.
"Can I kiss you?" Megumi asked, looking at you intently waiting for you answer. You smiled and nodded leaning in for a kiss.
Surprisingly he was a good kisser, his soft, glossy lips moulded into yours making you both get lost in the moment.. He stroked your back as you wrapped your arms around his neck. You didn't want the moment to end.
You both pulled apart from each other to get some air. You cuddled into him suddenly feeling quite fatigued.
"Remind me to do that more often." you giggled as Megumi chuckled.
"No objections there."
You both cuddled together not even bothering to check if the door unlocked, eventually falling asleep in each other's comfort.
A bonusssss!:
"I bet you 4000¥ they are cuddling right now." Yuji whispered to Nobara.
"I bet you 5000¥ that they kissed." Nobara gasped and began smirking.
"Aight bet."
"Guys! Do you have your tasers at the ready?" Gojo whispered to all the students.
They were all gathered outside the room you were in, all with taser in hand.
"So we go in, if they aren't cuddling then we taser them like psychopaths? Got it." Maki found some sort of amusement in all this.
"Okay guys, 3, 2, 1..." After Gojo's countdown ended they all entered the room. To be blessed with an adorable sight.
"Nobara pay up!!" Yuji shouted causing you to stir awake.
You jumped up and screamed to see everyone in front of you with tasers smiling with devious intent.
"W-Why do you have tasers?" you stuttered as you backed up with your hands up as if you were guilty, whilst Megumi was still basically asleep on the couch.
"Y/N did you confess?" Gojo came in closer as all the others followed him with their tasers making horrifying noises.
"What are you on abo- Oh!" It all made sense to you now.
You had been locked in a room with Megumi to get you to confess your feelings to each other.
"If by dawn, you confess without waver,
Then you will not have to fear the power of the taser..it makes sense now!!" you exclaimed making sense of the situation now. What an evil school you were in.
"HEY! Y/N YOU BETTER ANSWER ME." Gojo shouted snapping you out of your thoughts, getting an arms length away from you.
"YES! YES! WE DID! WE EVEN KISSED IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU? PLEASE DON'T TASER ME!"
Suddenly all the taser noises stopped and you looked up to see everyone look relieved.
"You kissed?! YESSSS! Yuji pay up~" Nobara smirked and Yuji looked pissed.
"You made a bet on that?" you asked genuinely shocked as to how much you were shipped.
"Don't worry about that..."
"Let's go gang! Our job here is done." Gojo said as everyone followed behind him congratulating you on their way out.
You looked shocked as you turned to see Megumi looking as confused as you.
"What just happened?" Megumi asked looking like he saw an alien.
"I think it's best you don't know...." you sat down and rested your head on his shoulder.
What a crazy community you were a part of.
a/n: I hope you enjoyed that! and don't forget to request if you would like!! ANON I AM STILL LOOKING FOR YOU!!

Word count: 827
Paring: Megumi Fushiguro x reader
A/n: Hey Ness, thank you for requesting. Honestly I think this is my first time writing for Megumi so I hope you enjoy it. Also tried a different pov for this one so let me know how you like it. Have a good day or night, and remember to Hydrate or diedrate. REQUESTS ARE OPEN
He had been trying to tell you for weeks. And before that Itadori had spent over a month trying to get him to admit his feelings to himself. At this point Megumi was a wreck to put it simply. He tried to act like it wasn’t affecting him, but it was starting to feel like the whole world was against him.
Megumi had approached you during dinner two weeks ago, having come up with the perfect plan. Unfortunately a certain cursed corpse messed everything up. Here's how it went.
“Hey Y/n, can we talk for a minute?” He asked approaching the table you were sitting at. Smiling up at him you nodded, getting up to follow him out of the room. Once out of the crowded dining hall he began to speak again. “So, I’ve been meaning to tell-” Before could finish his sentence, the door burst open again.
“You guys have to come see this, Itadori and Inumaki are competing to see who can fit the most rice balls in their mouth at once.” Panda said in excitement, dragging the both of you back inside.
While the others were busy watching the two be idiots, you leaned over to Megumi. “Hey, what is it you wanted to talk about?” You asked in a hushed voice trying not to draw attention, silently hoping he was going to confess.
He paused for a moment, then turned away. “It was nothing.” He said getting up and leaving you feeling disappointed.
The next time he tried to confess was on one of the days off you get as Jujutsu sorcerers. Megumi was sure no one would interrupt him this time. And he had made Itadori promise to keep everyone busy and away from your dorm so he could tell you. Itadori being the good wing man he is, agreed and did his best. Unfortunately no one could predict what happened that afternoon.
You two had been relaxing in your dorm like you do on every day off, just watching tv and chatting. He figured this was as good a time as any. So he went for it. “Y/n can I tell you something important?”
Sitting up startled but curious, you responded. “Of course Megs, you can tell me anything.”
Not thinking he would get this far he started. “Well, we’ve been friends for a while now and I’ve been thinking about this a lot.” He paused for only a second to collect his thoughts when the door burst open revealing the bane of Megumi’s existence.
“Sorry to interrupt but I thought you would all like to know that Okkotsu is back from his overseas mission.” The obnoxious white haired man said.
Upon hearing of the return of one of your closest friends, you quickly jumped off your bed running out of the room. Completely forgetting the conversation you were having with Megumi. Leaving the boy to slump back into the bed.
Megumi had enough, he was going to try and tell you one last time and if something got in the way, he would accept that fate had other plans and give up. So he cornered you one morning before training started. He was determined for this to go well. He wasn’t going to beat around the bush either, he was going to be straight forward and rip off the bandaid.
“Y/n I’ve liked you for a long time, and not just in the oh you’re cool kinda way. I want to spend all my free time with you and protect you no matter what.” He didn’t even pause to get a reaction, he just kept going. “I’ve been trying to tell you for weeks, but something always came up. But this is the last time I’m trying this, so I need you to know that I love you.” Megumi didn’t even register all the words that came out of his mouth.
You stood frozen for a moment. This was a dream come true Megumi Fushiguro just told you he loved you and your mind was buzzing. After getting over the initial shock, you reached in your pocket confusing the dark haired boy in front of you. With the biggest smile he had ever seen you handed him a green Uno reverse card.
“What the hell is this supposed to mean?” It was his turn to be shocked.
Instead of giving him a verbal response right away, you leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “It means, I love you too. Now as much as I would love to skip training to go on a date, we wouldn’t hear the end of it from Gojo, so we should get going.” You said before walking towards the training field. Megumi was left frozen for a minute, not believing that just happened. Getting over his shock he realized you were right, so he carefully placed the uno card in his pocket and headed outside to join you.

Megumi and Tsumiki do not have a good relationship.
Tumblr media
Jujutsu Kaisen is a Greek tragedy. Our heroes are flawed and those flaws bring about their doom. Plenty of people have given great analyses about how this relates to Megumi’s and Yuuji’s relationship, but today I want to talk about the Fushiguro siblings.
Initially, we only know about Tsumiki from Megumi’s POV. She’s sleeping beauty, the archetypical absent female character whose tragic fate propels the male hero forward. He clearly holds her as the ideal of a ‘good person’ in his mind.
So I was quite shocked when we finally see what their relationship was actually like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all, Megumi visibly resents her. He rejects all of her attempts at caretaking, and he’s blunt and cruel about it. And Tsumiki is not the perfect patient princess we’ve been led to believe. She lashes out, kind of violently—she doesn’t regret throwing the carton at him, only that it still had milk in it. (Lol.) She didn’t throw it because Megumi got in a fight, she threw it because Megumi said he hated her. Megumi says Tsumiki was kind to him and supported him, but the only thing we’re shown is this really acrimonious exchange. It creates an uneasy feeling. Can we trust Megumi’s perspective? Is he misremembering something?
Clearly, these two did not get along. They’re both traumatized children who were abandoned by their parents, and Tsumiki coped by trying to play house, while Megumi coped by being distant and angry. They can’t understand each other or communicate properly. They must have constantly fought as kids. All they have in the world is each other, and they resent each other for it.
Immediately after this scene, Tsumiki does the test of courage and gets cursed—so this might be the last time they saw each other before Tsumiki fell into a coma. (I’m not super clear on the timeline, but it would make sense.) Megumi, like a child who only appreciates something’s value after it’s gone, finally realizes Tsumiki’s true strength of character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And you would THINK that he’s learned something. You would THINK that their relationship would be different now that Tsumiki’s finally awake again.
But once they reunited, did he apologize? Did he say “Hey sis, sorry for being such a brat”? Did he say “I’m glad you’re awake again, I love you”?
No! Basically the first thing he says, after a brief mention of the culling game, is “You can go back to sleep.” After she’s been asleep for over a year and a half. After he’s been waiting faithfully for her to wake up for a YEAR AND A HALF.
Imagine Sleeping Beauty suddenly waking up by herself, and then Prince Charming going, wait, actually, nevermind. I don’t need you. Nobody needs you. I haven't killed the dragon yet, you're not supposed to be awake. GO BACK TO SLEEP.
That’s cruel. Tsumiki, and the curse possessing her, know that’s cruel. Nothing has changed in their relationship since before she was cursed. Megumi is still too wrapped up in himself to think about her perspective, too busy going off on his own sacrificial missions without once stopping to ask her what she wants. And in response, Tsumiki is still smiling at him with daggers in her heart.
If Megumi had paid more attention to Tsumiki, if he had bothered to try to talk to her and cultivate a real connection once she woke up, maybe he would have noticed something was off. Maybe Tsumiki would have been able to fight off the curse somewhat. Maybe Megumi would have been able to tell the difference between his beloved sister and a monster.
But he didn’t. And he couldn’t. And that’s nobody’s fault but his own.

Third Person POV
“Do you think they’ll realize what we’re trying to do?” Kugisaki questions, leaning on her elbows on the desk.
Ino laughs, “Well, they are both pretty smart. But maybe they’ll think it’s just a coincidence.”
Megumi scoffs, “No way. Sensei and Nanami-san are much too smart to be tricked this way.”
Just then, Itadori comes rushing in with Gojo-sensei. Gojo has a playful smirk on his face.
“I’ve got the perfect plan!” Gojo places some papers down on the desk.
Everyone leans in to see what the strongest sorcerer has planned. It’s a detailed plan, step by step, of how to get both sensei and Nanami together. It starts with them getting back to the school and for Gojo to tell them they need to go on another mission. Surely, they will be skeptical but there’s the mention of the village they had gone to the other day.
“Won’t they find it suspicious?” Itadori asks, his fingers stroking his chin as he thinks hard.
“Of course they will,” Megumi chimes in.
Gojo then explains to them that there happens to be another issue in that same village. When sensei and Nanamin had gone to exorcize the curse, there had been another curse that needed dispatching. It was sneaky and stayed hidden the entire time. And once the first curse had been exorcized, then the second more powerful curse had appeared.
“So you’re going to tell them that Yaga-sama wants them to clean house?” Ino asks, tilting his head to the side.
“Precisely! And it’s not really that much of a lie.”
They all look at Gojo with stars in their eyes. Even Fushiguro seems impressed with the man’s scheming. Within the papers that lie on the desk, Gojo procures two train tickets. He’s trying to recreate the feeling of the last time. He had worked so hard to find the perfect mission to send those two lovebirds on.
“It’s truly perfect! I think something happened to them during the last time they were there,” Kugisaki mentions.
Ino nods, “I think so too! Despite the drama that came afterward, those two seemed even closer when they arrived home.”
Everything was falling into place and soon, they knew that the couple that deserved to be together would finally be together.
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪
Your POV
“Ahhh really, Satoru? Is this really necessary?” You ask the white-haired man in front of you.
Gojo puts his hands together, “You know how it is, Yaga was on my ass. He says he wants you and Nanamin to finish the job.”
You and Kento have been in a weird spot since the day at Haibara’s grave. Things weren’t completely fixed, but you were more than happy to let things progress naturally now that you knew he didn’t have a wife. After the tender kiss he gave you, you knew that Kento had strong feelings for you.
The only issue that lies within this whole situation is that he still hadn’t confessed, nor had you. Everything was sort of hanging in this awkward limbo.
“Besiiiiidessss,” Gojo leans on your desk. “You and Nanamin can finally have the alone time you need.”
You roll your eyes, “Are you serious right now? You need to learn how to butt out of people’s lives!”
There’s a look on his face that shows you he is more than serious about all of this. You want to believe that he means well to give you and Nanami a second chance to fight this curse, but there’s also a part of you that doesn’t know that Kento has already agreed to this time alone together.
“How long will we be in the village? My training with Kugisaki has been slacking lately. With all this drama—”
Gojo interrupts you, “Don’t worry! Maki-chan has decided to help you train Kugisaki in your absence!”
You knew that Maki was a very strong sorcerer, even if she is in her second year and not graduated yet. But she would be a good influence on your student. You take a second to consider everything. It would be the perfect time to finally confess your feelings to Kento.
“Well, I suppose I have no choice.”
Gojo claps his hands together like a little kid, “That’s the spirit, usagi-chan!”
You were beginning to wonder if this was something you were going to regret. It almost seemed like the man standing before you was full of tricks up his sleeves. For as long as you’ve known Satoru, you’ve known him to be manipulative in such a manner that got him his way almost all the time. So why would this be any different?
“When does the train leave? Do I have time to pack?” You ask as you begin turning off your laptop.
“Train leaves in two hours. You can go pack now…in fact, let me go help you!”
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪
Satoru wasn’t very helpful with your bags. In fact, he sprawled out on your bed and tried to choose what panties would impress Kento the most. Despite blushing like crazy and calling him a psychopath, you still decided to take his opinion into consideration. After about an hour of deliberating on what to pack for a few days, you finally felt confident to at least make your way to the train station.
Still, the thought of seeing Kento caused butterflies to erupt in your tummy. You wondered if he’d be excited to see you in the way you were excited to see him. Gojo gets Ijichi to drive you to the train station. Your heart is pounding in your chest and your stomach is in knots. Will Nanami want to go on this mission with you in the first place?
Once you’re there, Satoru helps you with your bags and you two walk into the train station together. You look around and your heart skips a beat when you notice the tall blond standing nearby. Satoru pushes you towards him, and you’re blushing like crazy.
“Kento-kun,” you start.
Nanami smiles shyly, “Hi,”
Neither of you truly know what to say. There’s this awkwardness that hangs between you two. All you can do is smile shyly at one another. You’re startled by Gojo wrapping one of his arms around you and pulling you close.
“Alright, your bags are taken care of! Time for you two to get going.”
And with that, you and Nanami board the train together.
Once seated inside, you and Nanami don’t say much. The train starts rolling and you decide to take the chance to take in the view that you missed out on last time. It’s beautiful to leave the city and watch it turn into beautiful countryside. Nanami has his laptop open, and he’s working on some paperwork.
For a good half an hour, neither of you say anything. Then Nanami finally turns to you and he smiles sweetly when he catches your attention.
“Can we talk?” he asks, his beautiful amber eyes shining in the setting sun.
You nod your head, “Of course. I think it’s for the best if we do talk.”
He sighs softly, taking your hand in his. He feels so warm and he smells so good. Leather, musk and…something that’s uniquely him. It’s so beautiful to take it all in. It’s so good to finally have this moment with him.
“Tara isn’t my wife,” he begins. “That you know. But I want you to know about her.”
He goes on to explain how when he left the sorcerer's life, he met Tara in university. She was studying something different, but they had classes together. And slowly, Nanami had convinced himself he was in love with her. She showed him things that he hadn’t experienced. She was carefree and fun, something that scared him in so many ways too.
“She took me under her wing in a way,” he explains. His eyes won’t meet yours anymore. “I thought she was the one for me. And one day, I was ring shopping for her and I…”
You tilt your head to the side, “You what?”
Nanami’s eyes fill up with tears, “I saw you that day. I hadn’t seen you in years. You and Satoru were in the same part of the city as me and when I saw you…”
There’s nothing else that comes from him for a moment. You can feel the grief and the heartbreak that hangs in those words. You aren’t quite sure if you should say or do anything. Then you gently squeeze his shoulder.
“I didn’t love her. I loved the idea of her and what she represented for that time of my life. When Satoru approached me a few weeks after that for the mission in Hokkaido, I knew I had to come back.”
Your heart pounds in your chest once more. Your palms feel so sweaty. You think you know what he’s meaning to say, but you want to hear it from him. You desperately need him to say those words to you.
“My feelings for Tara never left, but it wasn’t about romance anymore. I felt responsible to take care of her. So when she came to find me at the school the other day, she had a heavy burden to carry.”
“What was it?” you inquire.
“She’s…she was pregnant. Her partner cheated on her and she wanted to get an abortion. So she asked me to come with her.”
You remembered how nervous and angry and upset you felt that day at the school. The way Nanami had chosen to ignore you for the phone calls and the texts that Tara had sent. You even remembered the way Itadori had come rushing over with the news of Nanami’s wife.
“My feelings for her aren’t the same as…” Nanami swallows hard. “They aren’t the same as my feelings for you.”
Your stomach flips and you swear your heart stops. He looks at you and your eyes lock. Slowly, you two lean in together and Kento cups your face. His thumbs caress your cheeks so tenderly.
“My feelings for you have been so strong since we were young, but I was a foolish boy. I grew up to be what I thought was a responsible man, but it seems like I’m still that very foolish boy.”
You giggle softly, “You’re in luck, Kento. I love that foolish boy.”
And with this, you seal the deal with a kiss. Your lips are pressed together, and your hands go up to caress the back of his head and neck. Slowly, he slips his tongue into your mouth, caressing it against yours.
“I…” Kento begins, but he’s blushing again.
“Hey, don’t worry about this just yet. We’re going to the inn, remember? You can tell me there.” You comfort him, and he smiles.
“Right. The inn.”
𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪
Arriving in the village a few hours later, you and Kento felt in much better spirits. You two spent the hours together by laughing, joking and reminiscing on the good old days. By the time you two arrive at the train station, you’re both feeling so much better. There’s a bit of lustfulness that clings to each of you, but there’s an unspoken agreement to wait to explore these feelings when you’re checked in and comfortable.
Once inside the inn, and Kento has his hands full with your bags, you look around for the old woman who helped check you in the last time. You approach the desk and you ring the little bell that sits there.
“Comingggg!” A small, elderly voice calls from somewhere in the building.
You and Kento smile happily. You know she’s going to tease you or even insinuate that you two are married. Maybe this time you won’t deny it either. Besides, you two are work husband and wife after all.
“Oh! It’s you two! The young couple!” The elderly woman exclaims as she spots you.
“It’s us,” Kento says, his voice filled with giddiness.
She approaches you and hands you the key to your room. She ensures that this room is even fancier than the last, and that she was in there just thirty minutes ago to make sure the room was spotless.
“Have fun you two!”
You and Kento walk down the hall all the way to the honeymoon suite. You giggle softly as you open the door, noticing the trail of rose petals right away. This seemed like the work of Satoru and nobody else.
“He must have called her,” you and Kento both say, causing you both to laugh.
With the tension still in the air, you two decide to try and unwind. You slide the door open to the bedroom, gasping as you notice the petals on the bed. Kento picks up the bottle of champagne that sits in the chiller.
“He went all out,” Kento says, and you look over at him.
Within that second, everything changed. The room was charged with electrifying sexual energy. Kento takes long strides to reach you, wrapping his arms around you.
“I love you,” you tell him as he leans in to kiss you.
“I love you too, I always have…”

A Deal ( Ryomen Sukuna X Reader )
Part 6
Check out part 5 here.
a/n: Hi loves, sorry for the late update, I'm struggling with finding motivation since I'm active on both Tumblr and Wattpad.
‼️Since you voted for 3 different endings and I promised to write all of them, I'll start writing 3 different parts ( for exp 3 different versions of part 7 ) till we reach the end, since the events would obviously differ.
Warnings: NSFW MDNI ⚠️
Tumblr media
Standing in front of Jujutsu High, nostalgia flooded your mind with cherished memories ; laughter, giggles, echoes of principal Yaga's scolding. The scents and images of your past enveloped you, painting a bittersweet picture. As you began to reminisce, a soft smile adorned your somewhat gloomy face.
Sukuna's voice broke the reverie, jolting you back to the present.
"One hour... that's it," he declared, grounding you in the reality of the moment.
Realizing that despite the risks of being a Jujutsu sorcerer, life then felt like heaven compared to the current disaster, a true hellfire. You nodded, all what you wanted was to hug them once more. An hour seemed more than sufficient, considering you had endured weeks of separation.
"I'll be waiting right here.. if you don't come back in one hour, I'll get in there and kill everyone before your eyes" he threatened.
You gulped, already know that he won't hesitate and would do that for real. You can't risk putting them in danger, you've been bearing all the pain for so long for them to keep them safe, so now you can't ruin it by simply being one second late...one hour is one hour.
"Understood" you muttered,
Sukuna's hold on your waist loosened, granting a temporarily liberation. It felt like a bird that had been caged for years, now experiencing the freedom to spread its wings and fly once again.
You stepped inside as the clock started ticking, countdown began. You started running, to waste no second.
Sukuna's Pov Why do I feel empty? It's just one hour; she'll return, she'll come back to me! Yet, everything seems to turn gloomy and dark without her by my side. I've lived in darkness across all timelines, for long 1000 years. But she changed it; she ignited herself, unintentionally lighting up my world. The moment she offered herself to me as an exchange for Gojo and Megumi's life, what a woman! Maybe it was the way her soul was pure, maybe it was her courage, maybe it was just for my own filthy pleasure, desires and sins. But she succeeded in making me break from the ordinary, and now all what I can think about..is her. If she was anyone else, I would have killed them at the spot, wouldn't even waste a second to negotiate, or spare them with my mercy. But Y/N,she got me wrapped around her finger, to the point that despite boiling with jealousy, and this unexpected ache that I've felt in my chest, aware of what could happen between her and Satoru in these 60 minutes, I've let her go to him, because she wanted to. Because I can't say no to her pleading eyes that drove me crazy. But one thing I won't allow, I won't allow Gojo to steal her away from me. No one can have her. Either mine, or death. End of Pov.
Panting trying to catch your breath, stomping inside, with no further warning.
"Satoru, I'm home" you said with a smile,
“Y–y/n?" they said in union.

Family Formation Part Seven
Tumblr media
13 hours of labour later, a 56cm, 8lb 5oz, white-haired, sparkling blue-eyed bundle of love was laid in your arms. Exhausted, sore, and sweaty but so full of endorphins it all seems trivial. Satoru had been by your side for the full 13 hours, refusing to eat because you couldn’t, laying behind you supporting your back and giving endless encouragement and finally catching your long-awaited baby boy. You had made a list of names throughout your pregnancy and the second you both laid eyes on your son, there was no other name needing consideration, Akio was perfect.
Satoru had cried (a lot) when his baby boy was put into his arms for the first time as Shoko stitched him up and cleaned him. You had point-blank refused to have anyone except Shoko deliver your baby, which was a smart choice given that this child was the amalgamation of the strongest sorcerer and a sorceress wielding one of the most powerful innate cursed techniques- plus, she was your best friend.
After his first bath and being wrapped in the blanket your great-grandmother had made, Akio was settled into your arms as Satoru went to announce the arrival of his darling boy to the people in the waiting room.
He came in and asked if you were ready for visitors and as tired as you were, you couldn’t wait another moment for Akio to meet his family. Your mom was out of the country and rushing home as you were in labour, dropping all sorcery diplomacy and running to her daughters’ side.
‘Let them in one at a time ‘toru.’ You say as he opens the door and calls in the person who you wanted him to meet first.
A spiky head of raven hair appears in the doorway. You smile and tilt the bundle in your arms to face him. “Gumi, I’d like you to meet your baby brother, Akio Ryu Tadashi Gojo.”
Somehow despite the 9 months’ notice, Megumi seems completely shocked.
“Holy shit, he’s real.” He looks between you and Gojo, who laughs a little at the reaction.
“Yeah kiddo, he’s very real. The bruises on my hand from your mom’s squeezing are the painful proof!” He says, waving his slightly blue wrist.
“Shut up, mom did all the real work. Are you okay? Is he okay? Do you need anything?”
“We’re both fine sweet boy, I’m sore but I did just push out a human so I’m sore. Come closer, honey. He wants to see you.”
Megumi grimaces at the thought of your pain, and also with the awkward teenage boy reaction to childbirth. He slowly moves closer, as if him moving to fast will cause the baby to shatter like glass.
“He looks like you, mom.” He says.
“You think? He’s got your dad’s colourings.”
“Nah, he’s too pretty to look anything like dad.”
You let out a huff of laughter as your husband acts out a wound in his chest on your other side.
“Do you want to hold him?”
“Uh… okay.”
The nerves have spiked in him so you scoot over to make room for him to sit on the bed beside you.
“Okay so put your arms like this, and make sure you hold his pretty little head.” Satoru says as he lifts Akio from you and places him into Megumi’s stiff arms. You smile at how cautious your husband is, you’ve been raised surrounded by children and babies so this all feels like second nature to you.
“Hey ‘lil man. I’m Megumi. I’m your brother I guess. I’m gonna show you some really cool stuff when you grow up, and make sure your dad doesn’t turn you into a clone of himself.” Megumi says to the blinking eyes of the baby he holds. You can tell he doesn’t know what to say, so you wrap you arm around your two sons.
“Megumi is gonna be the best big brother, he can show you his shikigami and show you all the cool music and read you the best books. He’s gonna keep you real safe too.” You say.
There’s silence for a minute as Megumi just looks at the baby.
“Tsumiki would have been so excited about you. She was – is, my big sister. So I guess yours too. I hope she meets you someday.” The slight hitch in his voice shows that holding his baby brother is making him realise how Tsumiki must have felt.
“You will meet her, Akio, and she’s gonna love you so much. Just how she loves Megumi.” You kiss the side of his head, and Gojo squeezes his arm around the boys broad shoulders, for once Megumi leans into him and doesn’t push him away.
“Eh, Nobara told me that you give gifts to the baby when they’re born. So I made something. It’s in my bag on the ground if you wanna grab it.”
Satoru leans down and opens it and freezes. He turns to you and pulls out a book. He sits on your other side and lays the book on your lap for you both to see.
In Megumi’s beautiful tidy cursive, on the cover, is written ‘Your Family’ and ask you open it you see photos he must have taken of you, Satoru, himself, Tsumiki, your parents, Yuuji and Nobara, Shoko and Nanami, Yaga and in one photo, in the corner you notice Geto, smiling with his arm around Gojoy, you had both discussed that you would raise your kid to know about his Uncle Geto as the man he was in high school, before the world became too much for him. Yaga makes an appearance too, along with Utahime and the second years. There’s wedding photos from you and Satoru’s big day, ones you remember Shoko taking in high school, photo’s you’ve never seen before from your pregnancy, ones of you and Satoru on missions. You realise that there’s an ‘introduction’ to each family member on each page and you begin to sob reading them.
“Oh shit, I didn’t know you’d cry.” Megumi says, panicking he’d upset you.
“Oh no sweetheart, it’s happy tears. I love it so much, it’s so beautiful. I can’t believe you did this, he can keep it forever now. Thank you, darling boy.” There’s tears in Gojo’s eyes too, behind his small sunglasses as he sweeps you 3 into a hug in his long arms.
“Um, it’s okay, I’m glad you like it. Figured he’d need a roadmap to navigate this mess.” He smirks. “Are you gonna let the others in?”
“Should we FaceTime Yuuta?” Satoru asks.
“No it will be 3am for him, we’ll ring him later. Akio’s not going anywhere.” You say, making sure your newest stray child gets his sleep is important.
“Satoru, godfather next.” You say and Satoru opens the door and waves his hand.
In walks Nanami, suit jacket draped over his arm and glasses tucked into his pocket.
“Akio! This is your Uncle Nanamin!” Satoru joyful waves between the two of them, and the tick in Kento’s jaw makes you laugh, he walks over to you on the bed, Akio now back in your arms and Megumi on the armchair beside you, Satoru standing just staring at his son.
“Congratulations, Y/N, Satoru. You did wonderfully. Was he a healthy size?” Nanami asks, practical as ever.
“8lbs 5oz and 56cm, he got his father’s height.” You say, looking at your towering man.
“And his hair and eyes, but he definitely looks like you, Y/N. He’s too cute to look like Gojo.” He says.
“Is everyone going to say that? I – am offended.” Satoru says pointing at Nanami. You laugh and you hear Megumi snort.
“Kento, we were hoping to ask you a question now you’re here.” You say, looking to Satoru, wanting him to ask.
“We were hoping that you wouldn’t just be Uncle Nanamin, but maybe you would be godfather Nanamin?” He says making a theatrical gesture towards the baby.
For once, the smile on Nanami’s face isn’t hidden.
“I would be honoured, Akio. But please, call me Uncle Kento. I presume Shoko is the godmother.”
“Godmother and doctor who delivered him.” You nod.
Nanami lifts a box from behind him.
“A gift for my godson.” He hands it to Satoru who wastes no time in opening the gift and goes “Wow! That’s so cool!” before he shows it to you, it’s a beautiful wooden box with ‘keepsakes’ engraved on the front.
“Oh Nanami, it’s wonderful, thank you so much! I love it.”
“Of course, shall I let the next guests in?”
He turns and calls in Yuuji and Nobara, who push past each other to get through the door first and you can hear the bickering.
The both gasp when they enter the room.
“Sensei! Y/N! That’s a baby!” Yuuji exclaims and Nobara’s mouth hangs open.
“Great observation Itadori.” Megumi smirks.
“No it’s just like – wow, you made a whole person! Well like a small one but still a person! It’s crazy!” He almost jumps toward you and stares through big brown eyes as Nobara skips toward you.
“Oh my god Sensei he’s so cute!!! His tiny hands!! And feet!! And nose!! What’s his name?? You’re so amazing Y/N!” She says. These two are definitely a different speed from the other two visitors in the room.
“His name is Akio.” You smile.
“Are you okay Y/N? Did it hurt really bad? Is there a way we can help?”
“I’m okay, Yuuji, and the pain was worth it.”
A mouth appears on Yuuji’s face.
“Hmph, the Gojo spawn has arrived I see. You’re stronger than I expected, woman.”
A chorus of ‘shut up Sukuna’ echoes across the room. But you look directly at his cheek and say,
“Thank you, Ryomen.” He sneered and retreated.
“I got you these Y/N!” Yuuji’s smile takes over his whole face as he hands you a huge bouquet of peony roses.
“I remember Gojo was talking about how they’re your favourites but the flower lady laughed when I asked for penises, and Nobara really died laughing so she told me they’re called Peonies.” You and Satoru burst into hysterical laughter at the thought of Itadori asking a florist for penises.
“They are my favourite, thank you honey, they’re so beautiful. Nanami, would you mind putting them in some water for me?” You say and he takes the flowers from Yuuji and you give him a kiss on the cheek.
Nobara whisks out a huge gift bag and says,
“I went shopping and bought some cute baby clothes! Look at these dungarees, they have tiny lions on them!” She shoves the bag at Satoru who nearly tumbles at its size, proving she went way overboard.
“You two are both so sweet, thank you guys. You’re both gonna make great babysitters.”
They both squeal and move to sit on the arms of the chair beside Megumi.
The next people to come in were the second years, Inumaki saying ‘Tsuna!’ As soon as he saw the baby and giving you a thumbs up and pat on the head. Panda began crying because the baby was so cute and small, and Maki immediately asked how you were, telling you she is amazed by your strength and how great you are for delivering a whole child. Toge and Panda had pitched together to buy Akio a stuffed panda and a jellycat riceball. And Maki, in very Maki fashion, brought diapers and wipes. Shoko came to the door next, returning from a rest after delivering your son.
“Mei Mei’s crows just dropped these off, they’re from Utahime and her.” You smiled taking the bags from her. Utahime was on a mission at the moment and couldn’t make it down to see you, but had sent you a beautiful card congratulations you and saying she was happy Satoru could do something right, and a beautiful box of postpartum beauty supplies, stretch mark cream and cooling eye patches included. Mei Mei also sent a card, with a set of the most expensive looking matching satin pyjamas for you and Akio.
Yaga also dropped by, clapping Satoru on the shoulder and whispering, “Well done, my boy.” To him, you knew this meant a lot to Satoru.
Your family had already given you your gift for your son, a cutting from a tree from your family home that your great great great great grandmother planted when her first child was born, using your families innate inherited technique. The tree bloomed soft blue flowers year round, no matter the weather and always seemed to faintly glow at night.
The Gojo clan, they had sent the Gojo heirloom silver rattle which Satoru had once owned as a child. Your mother was due to arrive the following day, and you knew she would be spoiling her 3rd grandchild rotten and you too when she arrived. She loved Satoru, and he loved her, so she was going to stay with you both for a week to help you both ease into the life of new parents, and Satoru couldn’t have squeezed and hugged her tighter when she offered.
After another half an hour, Satoru notices you yawning, with Akio asleep in his arms.
“Okay momma is tired everyone it is time to leave now! You can all come back and fawn over how cute my mini me is some other time.”
After everyone wishes you goodbye and a final kiss on the head for Megumi, who you send back to his dorm with a quiet thank you again for the book, you, Satoru and Akio are left in the peaceful room surrounded by keepsakes and your peonies now on the table beside the bed.
You scoot over to let Satoru into the bed beside you, and he places Akio in the crib beside you both. He squirms under the blanket, careful to be very gentle with you, knowing you’re still tender and aching. He wraps an arm gingerly across your stomach and presses soft kisses into your hairline, you tilt your head up and kiss his soft perfect lips.
“He’s really here, our little boy.”
“Thank you, Y/N. You’re so incredible, I’m in awe of you, I never thought I could love anything as much as I love you and the kids.. Thank you for giving me a family.” He says, pointing to the handmade book beside you both.
“Thank you for making it possible, you deserve the world, ‘Toru.”
And with that, you both curl up, drifting off in each others arms listening to the soft breaths of the baby beside you.

Tsumiki fushiguro's wasted potential
I will say this once and for all but tsumiki fushiguro was done so dirty by the narrative.
Tsumiki fushiguro is a character who is basically almost non existent when we talk about the fushiguro family and the fact that we only see her from megumi's pov is just sad. Megumi and tsumiki never had a good relationship to begin with and this is further highlighted when we see their interactions as a whole.
@twenty-qs definitely has a pretty amazing analysis talking about megumi and tsumikis relationship so I suggest you check it out if you want a more depth idea of what Iam talking about 👇
Point blank is that they aren't close and you can even assume that tsumiki (overtime) may of developed a slight hatred towards megumi for her own reasons. Both of them could of been depicted as very flawed individuals with megumi shutting everyone out and acting cold towards anyone as his own way to not get hurt by anyone or abandoned again. For tsumiki she had to take on a parental role at a very young age and she also had to cook, clean, manage school, take care of herself and take care of her brother since toji left. Tsumiki was quite older than megumi (2 years I think) but that means she can probably remember what happend and how, why and when toji left which is just a whole lot more packet of built up emotions that her character could of gotten to explore (but didn't). Tsumiki probably wanted to be close with her brother but due to both of their circumstances it just wasn't possible. That isn't to say that megumi didn't care for tsumiki considering that his whole motivation was to help his sister and that's why he became a sorcerer in the first place but he didn't appreciate or value her when she was around and as we see in the manga he viewed her as a nuisance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We only see megumi change of attitude towards his sister when she falls I to a coma and he realises how ungrateful he was for the things he had. He promises to himself that once she wakes up again that he will try and amend their relationship but as seen in the culling games arc he continually pushes his sister away stating that she should go back to sleep and not worry at all. No offence but telling someone who has been in a coma for 1 year and 7months to go back to sleep is such a rude comment and goes against what megumi wanted which was a to fix the frail relationship he had with his sister. I think that this is one of megumi flaws and I wish it was explored a whole lot more but sadly it isn't. We are obviously shown that tsumiki is acting weird but this is something that we easily pick up on (we don't even know tsumiki that well but we still notice this detail) compared to megumi who easily dismissed this and I think this is very telling of how distant they really are and how they're not on good terms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To cope with tsumiki going into a coma megumi ended up looking at what his sister did to him and put her on a pedestal letting this perfect version of tsumiki become his moral compass and by doing that he limits any actual humane feelings of negativity that tsumiki may have and ends up dehumanising his own sister unintentionally. This is seen when he calls her the perfect example of a good person and when in the culling games she is the only reason why megumi doesn't kill remi because he imagines her telling him "no megumi".
Tumblr media
I feel like the tsumiki plot point should of been handled somewhat similarly to junpei and have the two situations parallel eachother which would add to the stories theme of history rhyming or repeating itself and to the parallels that megumi and itadori share. In this rewrite (if that's what you want to call it) I would have tsumiki gain a CT and cursed energy and have yorozu be in a completely different body. Tsumiki should meet yorozu when she wakes up from the coma and the two can get to know eachother. Tsumiki (lonely, scared and vulnerable) will tell her feelings to yorozu who slowly becomes interested in her after hearing that megumi is a sorcerer. Yorozu will become someone tsumiki can trust similar to what happend with junpei and mahito and to manipulate tsumiki yorozu will make tsumiki think about things that she wanted to avoid thinking of like the little amount of jealousy and hatred that she has of megumi that she shoved at the back of her mind. Tsumiki will probably be jealous of megumi for how he was toji's favourite, how he was going enough to forget about their early home life, for how megumi had an escape that tsumiki could never have, for how megumi never had to take care of another human being and for other things. All these feelings build up and tsumiki tries to see the good in this but she slowly loses herself to darkness and yorozus relationship without anyone realising it until it's too late.
Yorozu presents a plan to tsumiki one where tsumiki will finally stand up for herself and be acknowledged by people. This plan ,(tsumiki tells yorozu about info that megumi gave her) consists of tsumiki taking the points that will be given to her and making a new rule probably the same rule that yorozu made or something else. This is where tsumiki herself betrays her brother and yorozus enters the stage mocking megumi for his lack of observation and how badly he has treated his sister. Here we can have tsumiki confront megumi about how she felt and the slow hatred and jealousy that she has towards megumi can be revealed. Megumi tires to chase after his sister and yorozu but before he can do anything sukuna uses the binding vow.
As yorozu and tsumiki are fleeing they seem the scene that is sukuna making megumi eat his finger and this is where yorozu feels like she hit a gold mine and has a new goal of using tsumiki as bait to get sukuna to come near her. Tsumiki on the other hand is horrified she only wanted to be acknowledged and confront megumi about the things he did but now she looks at the scene below and feels like this isn't right for her. She tries to go and help megumi but yorozu grabs her and tells her not to however tsumiki insists and yorozus intentions become clear to tsumiki and how tsumiki was played and used.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same few chapters go the same until sukuna in megumi body confronts yorozu and asks where tsumiki is. Yorozu doesn't respond and goes on about she loves sukuna and power of love blah blah. Tsumiki on the other hand was near she watches the battle hoping that she can help her brother but she can't. Yorozu loses and ends up dying she still gives sukuna kamotuke but sukuna doesnt really care.
As sukuna was about to leave he spots tsumiki and megumis soul starts fighting to help and protect his sister in anyway he could. Tsumiki puts up a bit of a fight trying and failing to get megumi to regain control. She is killed with her last words being directed towards megumi. Megumi snaps he is now trying harder then ever to regain control and for a minute sukuna lets him (Iam trying to make it mirror the thing sukuna did with yuji in shibuya) nos megumi si confronted with his sister's dead body and he naturally reacts with anger and sadness overcoming him. Without sukuna needing to do anything megumi loses control and his soul sinks to the abyss. Megumi ends up blaming himself for not understanding tsumiki for not being able to see her pain and his whole pedestal view of her is shattered. Megumis own moral compass is shattered and so is the last person he considered family he has basically lost everything he cared for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tsumiki fushiguro should of been treated with more respect by the narrative and I feel like making her situation mirror junpei would of done wonders to her arc it would of also been a very effective way to show jjks themes and a beautiful way to tackle feelings that she must of felt that we never got to see from her character. This idea would of also finally given us character development for megumi as his image of tsumiki is destroyed and he blames himself for not seeing the pain that she was going through. This would also be an interesting direction to take megumis character in and would emphasis on just how hopeless megumi feels after her death and we would be given more emotion which is something that I think this arc lacked between the two of them.

His backstory. Starts with how he was born (or created), how he grew up and became who he is now and most importantly what role Kenjaku and Tengen played in all this because they definitely meddled with him and his body in some way even before he was turned into a cursed object. Could honestly spend hours theorizing about it. Getting some more concrete details on his twin has me vibrating (even if it makes me ask more questions about Jin than Sukuna in particular). Hope we're soon getting our Heian flashback.
least favourite thing about them
His personality is honestly starting to grate on me a bit the more we are exposed to him. The way the Shinjuku Showdown is structured is definitely not helping there. Bit of a mix of him just standing around for 20 chapters and waiting to be attacked being quite boring and his whole petty schoolyard bully schtick is annoying me. Also I think his "might makes right" and hedonistic philosophy is quite boring. I think even Uraume's interpretation of it is more interesting than his.
favourite line
"You are but a fish on my chopping board, Gojo Satoru. A bit fresher than other, but still just a nameless fish. Let's start by peeling off your scales."
"No matter how many times I break his soul, he'll get right back up. Because he possesses and indomitable ideal." (kind of cheating because this is about Yuuji)
brOTP
Gojo maybe? As a sort of friends with benefits (sex and/or fighting) thing.
OTP
Uraume. Pretty much my only real ship with him, mostly because I like him the most when he is around them. Shows a more interesting side with him, how he interacts with people he is close to, despite both of them denying that they need to connect to people like that and that those emotions are beneath them.
nOTP
Generally don't like him in ships because his personality turns me off, but in particular SukuIta, SukuKen and SukuFushi.
random headcanon
He can't see very well on the right side of his face due to how his eyes are positioned there and I also think that he generally can't see as well with them as with the ones on his left side. Also, due to recent colour pages I'm gonna assume for now that he had blue eyes in his first life and they turned red when he reincarnated.
unpopular opinion
He doesn't look similar to Yuuji and even less to Jin. I don't know where people are seeing this except their hair being kind of a similar shape, but not even that is true. Also OG > Megukuna > Yuujikuna. I used to not like Megukuna, but have really warmed up to it actually. Mostly because it looks like an original design. Yuujikuna just looks like Yuuji with tattoos, while Megukuna has barely any resemblance with Megumi and is therefore honestly to me just young Sukuna with black hair.
song i associate with them
Gazelle Twin - Belly of the Beast
To represent his hunger and insatiability
youtube
Heilung - Krigsgaldr
His image in the Heian era and arguable also from Yuuji's POV

favourite picture of them
I honestly like his original design the most. It looks...messier? Like a real god of war. Besides that, I also like his stretched ears here. Feel much more appropriate than his very modern looking gauges and also matches the monk robe he was dressed in when dying (although Tengen might've put that on him).
Tumblr media
His mummy in general looks really sick. The match of the clothes and the fallen in face. Feels very occult and I love it when Gege references the Ryomen Sukuna urban legend. Also fuels my theory brain how this might be connected to Tengen & Kenjaku and how much of this was really his idea. Also might I add that he looks pretty well-fed for a sokushinbutsu mummy (so it's unlikely he was actually fasting before his death and Tengen did this post-humorously).
Tumblr media
Uraume
favourite thing about them
Trans cannibal cook? What's not to like. But besides that, how they have turned their back on society, they look down on basically everyone around them and they claim that building connections to other people and holding on to them makes you weak, yet they have fully dedicated themselves to Sukuna and clearly like him as a person as well. It's not just a master-servant relationship where you could say they merely follow him because they worship him or because of his strength but they have actual camaraderie. And yet Uraume doesn't think that's a contradiction. Other interesting thing is that despite their distaste for most other people and social norms, they are very good at playing into them and playing up being unassuming. Although they are quick to anger, they are also very good at fading into the background if they have to.
least favourite thing about them
They often get overlooked and turned into nothing but Sukuna's doormat. Don't really have any issues with them in canon except that I'd like to see more of them and especially outside of their relationship with Sukuna like what we got at the beginning of their fight with Hakari or when they're hanging out with Kenjaku alone.
favourite line
"The sorcerers of this modern era have an intense obsession with remaining 'human'. They so desperately want to hold onto their humanity, constantly telling themselves to hold back from destroying what would be so easily crushed with their overwhelming power. It is that fear of being alone that makes them weak."
brOTP
Kenny! But also with Hakari. This recent chapter just reaffirmed it. What are these guys doing?? It's so hilarious. Hakari even still has this chunk of ice on his shoulder. Nothing has changed since the last time we saw them. I really like though how relaxed Uraume is around him and how they playfully tease him. They have already opened up much more to him about their own feelings and philosophy than anyone else besides Sukuna. I really want to see more of it and only seeing glimpses of these two that only bring up more questions is driving me insane!
OTP
Sukuna. Much surprise. They are so dedicated to him, that I honestly have trouble seeing them with anyone else. There always has to be at least some mention or connection to him. I also like them and Kenjaku as friends with benefits or just a good ol' hatefuck. Would give Uraume the perfect opportunity to finally make Kenjaku shut up.
nOTP
I haven't really come across any ship with them that I disliked...well, Uraume/Megumi I guess, but besides that I can't think of anything.
random headcanon
They're older than Sukuna. Idk, somehow they just give me that impression and I think it would make their dynamic more interesting. I imagine Uraume had a lot more experience when meeting Sukuna, but stuck to him because they admire his way of life, passion and disregard for others. Kind of what also makes them like Hakari.
unpopular opinion
They aren't short. That's just a fact honestly. When you see them next to Kenjaku it's clear that they are 1.70+m aka Yuuji and Megumi's height, but for some reason people are obsessed with making them extra small and delicate.
song i associate with them
Had a bit of trouble finding ones that really fit, but these are the ones I chose for now.
IAMX - Animal Impulses
Reminds me of what Uraume told Hakari about humanity. Also of course the murder and association with cold and sharpness.
youtube
Lorn - Oxbow B
This is just vibes based. Kind of what I imagine Frost Calm to feel like and it also made me think of their preparation of the Bath.
youtube
favourite picture of them
People like to depict Uraume as small and petite, but look at those yaoi hands
Tumblr media
they look very hot when cutting up curses/preparing food (when will we finally see them prepare human meat?)
Tumblr media
and of course their original form. I honestly like that undercut more than their current haircut.

Megumi Fushiguro ☆ Nightmares
Tumblr media
Megumi x Fem!Reader
Genre: ☁️
Word count: 711
Trigger warnings⚠️: none
a/n: short one !!! enjoy 😚
Second person POV
You were a first year jujutsu sorcerer, and life, sadly, was not treating you as well as you hoped it would.
You had nightmares. Freakish nightmares that meant you refused to sleep for several days, and when you did, it would just be another traumatic experience hindering you from doing well as a student.
However, you were incredibly good as disguising it. You suspected the only person who definitely knew was Gojo-sensei....but of course, he never mentioned it around the others but never pressed you too much.
Little did you know that your childhood crush Megumi could tell there was definitely something wrong no matter how much you may disguise, even if the other students fail to notice.
It was just after a mission with Megumi, and  you were reporting to Gojo.
"So! My favourite two defeated the grade 1 curse, huh? Well done!" Gojo, pat you both on the back as you smiled softly.
That mission had taken all the power you had left from sleeping 3 days ago, and you were struggling to stay upright and conscious.
"...thanks, well if we are done here, I've got to go ask Nobara something, so catch ya later!" You waved goodbye as you wobbled over to your room, contrary to what you told the sensei and your crush.
Before you wondered off too long, you heard Megumi say, "Y/N, are you okay? Do you need to talk?" Megumi sounded genuinely concerned something that made your stomach do somersaults.
"Oh noo I am fine! I'm just a bit tired, is all." you said, smiling weakly before hurrying off to your bed to sleep.
"Hey Megumi... something isn't right with Y/N. I know you have noticed....please help me find out what's wrong with her." Gojo said with a serious tone, a tone Gojo rarely ever spoke with.
"Finally something we can agree on..." Megumi grumbled whilst walking away to find Y/N, despite the sinking feeling in his stomach.
"Hey!! Nobara, Yuji!! Where is Y/N?" Megumi said, feeling slightly out of breath after running around the campus looking for this girl.
Nobara smirked, "Wouldn't you like to know? Loverboy~" Her and Yuji giggled whilst Megumi rolled his eyes, ignoring his ears turning a bright pink.
"Not now guys...it is important. Please just tell me."
"Well I'm only guessing but Y/N is probably in her room doing whatever." Yuji shrugged
"Okay thanks." Before anymore was said Megumi ran of with Nobara shouting after him. "Make sure ya kiss!!"
Megumi knocked quietly on your door. No response. "Y/N it is me, Megumi" No response. Megumi started panicking. This wasn't like you. You always replied to him.
Suddenly he heard sobbing and heavy breathing. He didn't think twice before breaking open the door.
He saw you sat down against the floor of your bed sobbing your eyes out having a panic attack.
"Y/N!!!" you looked up as Megumi suddenly sat by you and wrapped his arms around you. You rested you head on his chest as you felt safe in Megumi's sweet touch.
After you calmed down, Megumi asked what was wrong.
"...I have nightmares, Megumi. They are so bad I can never get sleep. I've always had them but since the start of school....I don't know...they have become unbearable. I can't do it anymore." you felt Megumi tighten his arms around you as you looked up at him.
"Y/N, I like you. I will always be here for you no matter what nightmare you have, I will be there to rock you until you have the peace you deserve, because I like you....and for the record I noticed something was wrong...but could tell you were trying to hide it so didn't question it."
You couldn't say anything as you hugged Megumi tightly and he pressed a soft kiss on your head.
"I like you too Megumi!! Thank you so much, I don't know what I would do without you, probably get no sleep" you both chuckled as you fell asleep in each other's embrace.
A lil extra, as usual:
"Bet you guys 1000¥ he's asleep with her." Gojo said to the two other first years.
"Bet." they said in sync, as Gojo opened the door quietly only to be greeted with such a cute scene of you and Megumi fast asleep like babies heads rested atop one another.
"AYEEEE PAY UP!!" Gojo shouted in glee as you and Megumi awoke kicking everyone out feeling flustered.
"Why did we bet when we literally ship them Nobara..."
a/n: slightly longer than I thought but hope you enjoyed!! love ya'll!! 💜💜💜🔮🔮🔮

Can I ask your top 10 fav fics ever (from any fandom, if you don't mind)?
Also, just curious, is there a story behind your name "yaoshifollower"?
my name is a game reference! i picked it in April-May last year when i just started playing hsr and we got introduced to the aeon/god of abundance Yaoshi, i really liked their design and the idea that even good blessings can be harmful if taken to extreme. which is why i am their follower!
Tumblr media
now, for my top ten fics, i am going to limit myself to jjk only but i can do a general list too if anyone is interested
(not ranking them because it's something i always struggle with ranking anything)
1. every jjk fic by voxofthevoid @voxofthevoid, because they'd take up the entire list otherwise. i can't chose one favourite tho the way it follows you home, the stories i never told and isolation neophyte, too afraid to taste your conscience are close contenders for the first place
i adore the way he writes Gojo, that arrogant selfish bastard, and Yuuji, my precious baby can do no wrong 🥰, their interactions with each other and people around them (gege could never). and the smut is always top tier, i am still not over one particular line and i don't think i ever will be
2. still water by movequickly. it's ita/fushi, a canon divergent au from 212 chapter of manga and i just really love Megumi's characterization, the introspection on his relationship with others, something we lack in manga, and Sukuna specifically. also there is minor suku/ita and i am obsessed with the fucked up flavour of it!! like yes yes, this is exactly the way i want them
3. putredine by EvilPeaches. hints of ita/fushi, but mostly suku/ita. also another perfect depiction of the fucked up relationship Sukuna and Yuuji have. Yuuji wins but loses so much in the process you are left to wonder if the victory was worth it. in the end skita merge becoming one person (very fucked)
warning: check tags for both fics, especially the third one (people were talking in the comments about how dark it was but i just got horny 😔)
4. i'll be anything you ask of me by Anonymous. mostly hiita, with some goyuu. short and sweet, Yuuji-centric and encourages him to ask for what he wants, which is something i always approve of. comfort fic for me
5. this side of paradise by omontz. goyuu 236 au, Satoru's death starts a time loop with Yuuji forced to live through each in Satoru's pov. i rarely see time loop fics not from the pov of the person experiencing it and this fic does it perfectly. each loop is perfect and it made me cry, oh poor Yuuji he suffered for so long
6. "But to you it's just words" by WriterOfTheMaximum (@the-hurdy-gurdy-man , hope i didn't mistag lmao), a historical goyuu au where they walk a lot . Gojo characterization is very important to me and he is so perfectly imperfect here, just the way he is in the manga. Yuuji is a precious boy ofc, love this fic very much and i am going to reread it soon
7. Convergence by NoGravity, a canon divergent goyuu au in which Yuuji with the prison realm end up in the past (pre hidden inventory arc). Yuuji tries to unseal Satoru and get back to the future while also getting closer with teen Satoru. teen Satoru's jealousy of his older self was super cute. and while the results of their actions in the past didn't fix their future, it created an alternate universe. in the end both goyuu of the og universe and the alternate one are happy together
8. Lipstick by Lumieerie. one of my fave goyuuge fics, just very lovely and super delicious smut, i read it multiple times
9. Misplaced calls by J_c_nth. a loor at Gojo's time in the prison realm during which he receives calls from Yuuji from a different universe. some just met their Satoru z some haven't, some know him well and some really well. those calls make him confront his own feelings for Yuuji and realise how much he loves him
10. Touch me, touch you by rizna. senpai/kohai au goyuu being stupid and stupidly in love and making other people suffer for it

Hey there! As always, I have Sea Glass Gardens on the brain, and I was wondering if there are any moments or details you've written that you really like, but people haven't noticed/pointed out yet? Or that they have, but you still have a lot of thoughts on. (this is free license to ramble about anything you want!)
I think I probably would have to say the Maki/Tsumiki confrontation in chapter 5.
Writing that was really fun because it was like an iceberg to me. There was so much buried in both of them that just sort of lingered outside where Yuuta could see.
I have a sort of love hate relationship with limited povs. On one hand, I love making up lore for shit. I love having a bunch of silly little details that don’t exactly feed into the story but build the world.
(As a total aside, I wrote pez dispenser debris while in a burnout fueled feverish haze while studying for the bar exam and 90% of what enthralled me with it was giving myself permission to just fucking. Let loose on cramming in all the little backstories. It was my fun silly story I was allowed to make technical mistakes on just to make something that made me happy. It was like splatter paint art to me. Probably half of that fic is scenes that are completely irrelevant to the plot or but that was the fun of it).
On the other hand, I love having to sort of climb around inside a story that has the inherently skewed view that comes from having a limited POV. It feels like stained glass in my head. I don’t know how to explain it better. The entire story is just colored by the glass of the character perspective. It makes for a very pretty and fractured story, even if it comes at the cost of a lot of the background.
Whenever I’m working with limited POV, I just sort of bury details that I feel like it would make me go nuts if I saw it.
A lot of my fic writing is just sort of playing connect the dots with stuff canon leaves behind? A lot of the conflict in sea glass gardens comes from one line in the second Toji v Gojo throw down. Gojo has some throw away line about how the good thing about inheriting a technique was that you got a playbook, but the bad thing was that so did everyone else. Toji was Zenin, so he knew Gojo’s technique, but the gojo clan had kept hollow purple as a carefully guarded secret.
That led to:
The initial conflict, with Megumi having partial custody with the Zenin. If clans have secrets they keep with their techniques, then it’s a tactical disadvantage to not have access to that information. It’s a huge selling point for letting the Zenin have partial custody. It’s an actual advantage the Zenin could give him.
The primary conflict, which is that the Zenin are keeping secrets around megumis technique which means 1) that they don’t know what the Zenin did to megumi 2) why they did it or 3) how to fix it.
The fact that gojos teaching megumi from the gojo playbook on his technique, which is incomplete, which lends to his own lack of understanding of the capacity of his own technique.
Some of Maki’s uncertainty around her own clan’s technique. When talking with gojo, she seemed uncertain of whether some of the details were legend or fact. She’s mentioned before that she only knows the basics, and everything else is kept in a guarded book that only the ten shadows and the clan head can access. She didn’t know what Megumi’s domain expansion would manifest as, if he was able to use it at all, and seemed surprised to know gojo knew the details. The clans are keeping secrets from their own members about these techniques to maintain tactical advantages the way the gojo did with hollow purple.
A lot of the underlying atmospheric tension around Megumi’s adoption and the motive that everyone else has read into it. Taking Megumi in childhood allows Gojo to 1) cut off the user of the Zenin clan’s most powerful technique from his knowledge base and 2) observe his technique as it develops and get a chance to uncover its secrets. He’s seemingly crippling megumis knowledge around his own abilities while cementing the gojo’s understanding of it. Of course no one thinks it was a genuine adoption. It has all the makings of a tactical move.
The future difficulty in resolving the conflict. It’s not as simple as “well at the end of the day no one wants megumi dead, just tell Shoko how to fix this.” The clans gain a discernible tactical advantage from keeping secrets from each other. They aren’t going to give up secrets if they think it’s going to go straight into the Gojo clan archives. Especially considering he’s already got unprecedented access to information on the ten shadows simply by watching megumi grow up.
A few other plot points we haven’t gotten to yet so I won’t discuss them.
It’s stuff like that. A lot of my fanfic is just kicking around what canon already gives and having fun with it. So I like just implanting the details that I know I’d have fun playing with, and tsumiki and maki’s conversation was loaded with that.
A lot of the conflict in Tsumiki and Maki's conversation is sourced in the fact that they start it off playing an unknowing game of verbal whackamole. They keep stumbling straight into each other's biggest insecurities and touchy points and not realizing it.
To start off, they both have pretty ample reason to be off kilter and high on emotion. Maki was picked up out of a pool of her own blood a couple days ago. Out of all of them, it was only her and Yuuta that Geto was actually going to kill. Geto himself said that Gojo knew he wouldn't have killed Inumaki and Panda, and that Gojo sent them to set off Yuuta. But maki was the monkey. She was wounded the worst. And she was the only one who fought Geto alone. She's still shaken and doesn't want to admit it.
Tsumiki, meanwhile, has been on the brink for days. The last time she saw her family, she was being told by gojo that a genocial maniac that wants her specific demographic dead had just declared war. Then, her fourteen year old brother disappeared. She then immediately lost contact with every single person in her life and social network.
Is Megumi dead? Did he do exactly what she thought he was going to do and camp outside her school to watch for genocidal cultists? Did he get himself killed because she wouldn't skip school? What about everyone else? Are they okay? Why has she lost contact with her entire family?
She didn't have any working phone numbers. She didn't have any way of finding them. It's directly stated in canon that Tengen's barriers are directed to deterring and concealing it from non-sorcerers, so she's not even sure if she'll be able to get into the school without Megumi or Gojo. And then all of her worst fears were confirmed, and Megumi was actively bleeding out and visibly terrified when she finally got him back. He just died in front of her. She had to personally pump his heart to try and get him back.
As a result, they've both got a shorter fuse and are a little bit more reactive than they'd normally be going into the conversation.
So of course the absolute first thing they do is ram straight into sensitive points.
Maki is the first one to do it. She calls Megumi the "Ten Shadows" instead of his name. And that sets off Tsumiki, who is willing to rip out throats over this at the best of times, and who is sitting there with her brother's blood still on her.
The thing is, Maki genuinely meant no wrong by it. It's just what they always call him in the clan. She didn't know he hated it. She barely remembered him, and the clan leadership wasn't exactly advertising how much megumi hated everything they did. And it had never had a negative connotation for her growing up--fuck, it was the biggest term of respect you could get from her shithole family.
Except Tsumiki didn't have the context of "it's basically a title and also a bigger honor than Clan Head." All she knew was 1) that they refused to call Megumi anything else 2) no one else was called by their technique instead of their name and 3) (to her knowledge) there's nothing special about being the Ten Shadows that would cast this in a more positive light. I've discussed this in another post, but Megumi thinks of being called the Ten Shadows like being called "Excel spreadsheet" by a boss who hired you for being microsoft proficient. To his knowledge, the Zenin bought him because he was a sorcerer who inherited a technique, and there's nothing deeper to it. They're just calling him that to constantly throw in his face that he's just a technique to them.
And Tsumiki knows her brother well enough to be able to say when something legitimately got under his skin. This was dehumanizing. It was another way the Zenin abused him. Without the context of "it's an ancient honor in my clan to be called that," she thought that a member of the family that abused her little brother didn't even have the decency to lay off now, when he's still struggling to keep his heart beating in his chest.
Of course, she didn't realize the mere fact that pointing out that Maki was Zenin and looked Zenin was a sore spot, because she had always sort of worried she'd never escape being the Zenin clan reject when everyone can see the Zenin in her appearance.
What Tsumiki doesn't know is a huge driving source of the continued misunderstandings in the dialogue--namely, the fact that she doesn't know the true importance of the Ten Shadows technique to the Zenin clan. But I tried to imply throughout that she had really, really good reason to think that she did.
I feel like it's a trope to sort of have the non-magic/superpowered member of the family to be sort of clueless about the inner workings of the magic world or whatever, but I didn't want that for Tsumiki. It didn't fit with the version living in my head. This a world her brother's hurtling towards joining fully. It's her family's world. She doesn't want to be locked out of it.
And the thing is? She exhibits a pretty good command over knowledge of the jujutsu world--and, specifically, the Zenin clan. She had glasses imbued with cursed energy like Maki's. She knew enough about cursed energy to come up with a theory about why Megumi seized--and Shoko later confirmed that she was probably right.
I also tried to have her display understanding of Zenin custom and action that an outsider wouldn't have.
She knows enough about them to know that they're a tradition-obsessed, ancestor-obsessed group of weirdos obsessed with maintaining lineage. She knows they prefer inherited techniques. She knows they've got a pretty large population size. She even knows that they practice incest, because she takes a crack at Maki with it and calls them inbred.
And that's one of the details that I think can be really fun to play with, as a reader-- why does she know that? Yuuta's been living fully in the jujutsu world for months, and he doesn't know that. That's a really random, specific detail to know about a family she doesn't spend any personal time with. How did Tsumiki learn about it?
Did someone bitch about it one day and she found out about it in passing? Or was there a deeper story behind why she learned that? It was meant to sort of dovetail with something Maki said later in the same conversation--Gojo had kept the Zenin from marrying Megumi off. Not "Your brother's a literal child and too young to be married, no one would have even considered it"--no, she was relying solely on the fact that Gojo was protecting Megumi, which implies that the Zenin would have at least considered it.
And it's one of those things where there's no single "correct" meaning to it. It's open to a lot of reader interpretation and it makes it fun to play with. Maybe she did only learn about it in passing, and the two comments were unrelated. Or maybe the Zenin already broached the topic of when Megumi would be procreating and with which of his cousins, and Tsumiki found out from that.
The Zenin are bloodline obsessed, and I personally headcanon that all major sorcerer clans are because their techniques are basically trade secrets to them. They're specific to each clan and they are practically the currency their world runs on. If a member of the Gojo clan runs off and marries someone from the Kamo clan and joins the Kamo in the process, and their child is born with the six eyes and limitless, they've basically lost their most valuable asset to their rival. If someone leaves the clan and that child is born with, say, the most powerful technique in their bloodline--well, then you've basically set your most valuable asset off into the crapshoot that is the wider world's genetic lottery.
Say Megumi stays outside the clan, has a kid with someone not affiliated with any clan, and keeps that kid outside the clan. That kid has a kid. That kid has three kids. Those three kids have eleven kids total. So on and so forth, until a few centuries have passed and the ten shadows is being inherited again and there's some random nobody out there from a family who doesn't even remember having jujutsu sorcery in their bloodline but who is, technically, of Zenin blood, and descended from the last ten shadows. What happens if they get it?
Megumi's proof of concept--call it fate, call it destiny, call it random chance, but his existence suggests that whatever designates who's going to inherit the shadows next doesn't care about actual clan membership. Megumi has Zenin blood, but he had no contact whatsoever with his family before this. The Ten shadows technique is something that can be lost.
Yuuta, too, is oddly a proof of concept as well, now that the jujutsu world knows he exists. He's a random descendant from a major sorcerer line, connected distantly to the Gojo clan no less, so far attenuated that there's no one in his family that even remembers their connection. But he's one of the most powerful people on the planet. The Ten Shadows could be inherited by a distant, attenuated member of the Zenin line.
I included those lines as a detail that really could be stretched as far as the reader wanted to take it. Maybe it doesn't mean anything of importance. Maybe it means that the Zenin tried to negotiate some kind of advance rights to any kids that Megumi had. Maybe it means they took it farther, and tried to negotiate for an arranged marriage and a schedule for when he'd be expected to reproduce. his bloodlines important to maintain, after all. Maybe it was something else entirely.
Tsumiki also has a laundry list of examples that suggests she's had a front row seat to them disrespecting Megumi's boundaries over the years. They kept trying to take custody. They tried to force him to change his name. They did something so terrible to him when they had visitation that he wanted to go no contact. She's got a body of experiences eating at her that make her view the Zenin as a threat that megumi needs to be protected from, and he needs protection now more than ever, which is a lot of what feeds the tension behind the discussion with Maki.
With all of that knowledge in mind, Tsumiki has great reason to think she knows what she's talking about when it comes to Megumi and the Zenin clan. Like, this isn't her talking out her ass or condescending to people who know better--she has more reason to think she knows what's going on with the Zenin than Maki. Maki actually grew up with the clan, but Tsumiki grew up with Megumi. She knows this world. she knows what the zenin are like. And unlike Maki, she actually knows what the Zenin did to him all those years ago. The only thing she doesn't know is what Gojo purposefully hid from her, which is the truth of what the Ten Shadows really is.
And it's pretty reasonable to think that your guardian would have mentioned "by the way megumi is like magic jesus reborn to his psychotic relatives" at least once in ten years, right? Like Tsumiki isn't a character who knows nothing and just talks down to someone actually in the loop--she's a character who's spent the past decade of her life in the loop, who exhibits independent knowledge of the facts, and who has every reason to think she knows all the relevant information, being blindsided by a very important detail that gojo didn't even tell Megumi. Even Maki initially assumed that Tsumiki had the information and was blindsided by the fact that she didn't. And it's that gap in knowledge that sows the seeds of their initial conflict--and eventually brought them together.
For the first part of the conversation, I really wanted a lot of the conflict to be actually "they're having two different conversations and neither are technically wrong."
Maki's conversation was centered around what the Zenin would do. She was talking about how they're absolutely obsessed with Megumi and will never give up. And that fits within her world of experience, that's what she knows--she's not wrong about anything she says.
But Tsumiki's talking about Megumi, who's in her realm of experience, and she's saying that Megumi's never gonna want to be in their family Christmas card. Neither are wrong. Maki is totally correct in saying that the Zenin aren't just going to give up and wait for another Ten Shadows to be born. But Tsumiki wasn't saying that they would--she was saying that Megumi was never going to love them or want to be with them. The misunderstanding isn't in what either are saying, it's what the actual conversation is about.
The next time they accidentally ram into each other's sore points is when Maki says Tsumiki's the reason why he refused to join the clan.
Tsumiki's the unwanted kid in the world's most aggressive custody battle. She remembers the Zenin and Gojo were at each other's throats over custody, but nobody was fighting over her. It was her brother who the Zenin wanted. And we know from her later conversations with Yuuta that the Zenin have gone so far as offered to have her boarded at a school on the other side of the planet to get her away from Megumi.
"You're the reason why Megumi won't be with his family" was an accusation that was constantly lobbed at her as a kid. The Zenin fully blamed her for Megumi not coming near them (when they weren't blaming gojo), and I imagine Tsumiki was always very defensive about it. Because the thing is, at her core, she could have been completely uninvolved and megumi would want nothing to do with them. They were fucking insane. why would he ever want to be near them?
Tsumiki was a very little girl who was all alone in the world, and then she had her megumi, and she finally had a real family. And he was all alone too. They got to save each other. They got to give each other someone in the world to hold onto. They were each other's safe harbors and lighthouses and there was no one in the world who took care of her brother before she did.
It was incredibly hard for her to learn that there was this clan of people who had money and power and actual blood tying them to him, and they wanted to take him and leave her behind. Giving him a family was something she counted as almost a source of pride, and suddenly she was turned on her head and the selfish brat keeping him from having a family.
She didn't want to be alone again. She didn't want to let him go. And she spent a long time thinking she was selfish and just keeping him from having more family, until they found out just how bad the zenin were.
It's also an unfair accusation to say that Tsumiki's trying to keep Megumi from his family. The second she finds out that Maki left the Zenin clan, she tries to get her to form a familial relationship with Megumi. She wants megumi to have other family than her--and then Maki immediately hit back with "oh so you're the reason he's not with his family." It was like a slap in the face.
Except Maki didn't mean it like "so you're the one who took him from the clan the way the rest of the Zenin did, she meant it like "so you're the one who saved him from the clan."
Maki didn't even know Tsumiki existed. The clan leadership wasn't advertising that the ten shadows picked his non-sorcerer step sister over them. The entire jujutsu world thinks that Gojo snatched him away as a child, borderline brainwashed him to keep him from joining his clan and realizing his true power, and did it all as a power play against his enemies.
Except Maki's spent the last year with Gojo. And she's been wondering what the fuck actually happened, because what everyone says about him didn't match up at all with the man who welcomed her with open arms and who had done nothing but support her and the other students. He was fucking annoying, but he wasn't someone who seemed like he would do what people said he did all those years ago.
Every single time she thought about truly trusting Gojo for this past year, she thought about Megumi. She thought about the little boy who never had any time to play but still found the time to protect her sister. She thought about how they played together and how Megumi said they could be friends when Mai begged him and how they all got beat like hell for it, but it still made Mai happier than she had been in a long time.
Megumi was safer wherever the zenin weren't, but Gojo wasn't supposed to be doing it to protect Megumi. He supposedly had been manipulating Megumi for the past decade, keeping him weak and under his thumb so he could be a pet on a leash that Gojo could parade around.
She didn't want to believe that Gojo would do that to megumi. But she also didn't want to fall for someone who was just manipulating her. If he had really done that to Megumi, she wasn't ever going to trust or forgive him.
Tsumiki's existence made it all click for her.
Tsumiki would have never, ever been safe in the Zenin clan. Maki knows what it means to not be safe there, to have a sibling who isn't safe there, to watch them suffer underneath her family's thumb. If megumi had a sister he didn't want to be separated from, a sister who couldn't ever be near her family safely, then what Gojo did wasn't a powerplay--it was a rescue. He was keeping the ten shadows with a sister he could never stay with otherwise. Tsumiki is the reason why Megumi refused to join the clan, and the reason why Gojo helped him do it. It actually was Megumi's genuine refusal all this time. Maki wasn't blaming her--she was just struck by the fact that she really, genuinely could trust Gojo all this time. that it hadn't been a power play--Gojo was just saving Megumi and Tsumiki the way no one saved her and Mai.
Of course, Tsumiki didn't know any of that. She only knew the Zenin clan that had blamed her for years. So she didn't understand that Maki was saying it out of relief, not anger.
To shift a bit farther in the conversation, in my mind, the reason why Tsumiki got in a blow out fight with Megumi about going to school is because she wants him to have a life outside of the jujutsu world.
The jujutsu world purposefully tries to take away options from you as a manner of control. That was a big part of Yuuta's conversation with the higher ups--they didn't want him doing anything that could give him options outside of jujutsu sorcery. The terms of his binding vow were ludicrously strict about how he spent his time and education. And Tsumiki has actually seen this first hand, because she watched how the higher ups went after the teen parenting squad during their adoption.
She cares if Megumi goes to school because she desperately wants him to have the option to one day leave the jujutsu world. The higher ups and the Zenin don't even want him to have a modern middle school education--if they had their way, he'd be in full time jujutsu training, and she knows that because she and megumi were both in the loop when Gojo was fighting them over it.
Megumi's going to be going to high school soon. That means he's going to lose his main connection to a world outside of jujutsu sorcery. She wants him to have friends. She wants him to go to school and have favorite subjects and hobbies and passions. She wants him to have ties other than a profession that eats its workers alive. Megumi leaving middle school is a ticking time bomb in her mind--she didn't want him to lose a single day of normal life, especially not for her sake. The fact that he's in this stupid deal to work off his debt to the school as a sorcerer for her sake has been eating her alive for years. She just wanted him to go to school and have another day of being a normal kid.
She regrets it, later. If he has to be in this world, she wants to be in it with him. She wishes she was with him when the Zenin came.
For the most part, I'm not going to discuss the undertones of the conversation about the phone, because we actually will get into that in the fic. But the last part in the story she tells about her and megumi as kids, about how she had to hold on tight to his hand as a child because he would always try to wiggle free and she would lose him if he did? That's supposed to be their entire relationship dynamic in this: Megumi keeps trying to wiggle free, and she keeps trying to hang on to him as tightly as she can.
There's a lot of little "iceberg" details after that in quick succession.
(And, to be clear, I don't consider these details explicit or "canon" within the fic itself. It's a bit like method acting, I guess?
Yuuta finding out every single detail isn't realistic. It would drown the fic in way too much detail and be a little off if he found out that much. But having this sort of hidden base in what the character's experiences and desires and motives are helps me write them more consistently throughout, and it enhances my own understanding of the story. Yuuta will never find out that Tsumiki got in the fight with Megumi because she wanted him to have a life outside of jujutsu sorcery, but it can feed into her actions throughout the story if I understand that. Only the tip of the iceberg is visible, but the rest is still beneath the surface and affecting the flow of the story's currents. But, since it isn't explicit, members of the audience are free to have their own interpretations and experiences with the art and it makes the art much more changeable? I like the idea that no story is the same for any two people. What I read as their motives doesn't necessarily have to be everyone's reading. It's a different story through the lens of every person. I dunno. It's just cool to me.)
Some of the iceberg details that follow in the conversation, in short form:
Megumi kept trying to take off the kimono when Tsumiki found him because he was convinced he was dying and didn't want to die in the clothes the Zenin dressed him in
I talked about this in another post so I won't break it down in detail here, but when Maki's talking about how her father used to always take her to see the ten shadows kimono, it's because he wanted her to inherit the technique, once upon a time. The clan had been waiting for the Ten Shadows technique to return to the bloodline since Gojo was born. Her father was important in the clan, close to the clan head, from a powerful bloodline, and she was only a year older than Megumi. In my mind, the Ten shadows is the antithesis of the Six eyes and Limitless, so while you can clock the six eyes from birth, the Ten Shadows is notoriously hard to spot until they summon the dogs. Maki went from the clan's biggest hope to its biggest shame, and the Ten Shadows is a source of a lot of bitter memories. It wasn't until she saw the state of Megumi that night that she fully appreciated how lucky she was to not get the technique.
Then, the conversation takes a total tonal shift, and it's the definitive shift in Maki and Tsumiki's relationship. Because it's when Maki overrides Nanami to tell Tsumiki the full truth of her brother's technique.
Tsumiki has rapidly become a slightly painful person for Maki in the span of this conversation, because she's maki's foil, and Maki is realizing that. Maki had to let go of Mai to become who she is today. that was one of the hardest choices of her life, but she had to do it. The Zenin would have killed her if she stayed. She knew how big she could grow if she just had the space to do it.
Tsumiki is someone who's braving her family to not let go of her sibling. She made the opposite decision as maki, and Maki knows that, and she respects the shit out of Tsumiki for it. Telling Tsumiki the truth of the ten shadows is both a sign of respect for her and an acknowledgement of her as her brother's protector. Tsumiki can't help her brother fully if she doesn't know what the hell is going on. Maki's trying to arm her so she can keep making the decision that Maki didn't, because she knows just how painful her family is going to make this for them all. They didn't even care about Maki, but they still destroyed mai when she left. Megumi? He's the most valuable person in the world to them. They'll make everyone bleed. And she thinks Tsumiki deserves to know that if she's going to stay by megumi's side.
The last little iceberg moment is Tsumiki tearing the robe. And that was meant to be a reflection of tsumiki's entire outlook on life.
At the end of the day, Tsumiki is someone I've decided is selective about what she cares about. I've talked about it more in other posts, but I don't see Tsumiki's entire "I'd rather think about the people I love than curse people" schtick as a sign she's a perfect good person who doesn't succumb to bad thoughts--I read it more as she's someone who knows she only has so much she can devote her time and energy to. Tsumiki has very specific priorities that she will actually devote labor towards, and Megumi is her biggest. She doesn't get tangled up in things like appearances, or blood, or tradition, or politics, or revenge--she has the people she won't let go of, and she will let go of absolutely everything else.
The kimono is symbolic of centuries of tradition and a borderline religious obsession for the Zenin. Megumi himself is secondary to what the Ten Shadows represents, and the Zenin show that by disregarding his desires and safety again and again for the sake of their traditions around his technique. Tsumiki figuratively (and literally) tears through that because Megumi himself is paramount to her. It's an irreplaceable, priceless, centuries-old heirloom to the zenin. Most people would be wary of damaging it even if they didn't have any personal attachment to it, but Tsumiki just fucking rips it, because it legitimately means nothing to her.
She doesn't care if Megumi's borderline a figure of legend to them. He's her little brother. So they can wait another five hundred years for the next ten shadows. And they can get a new fucking robe.
