Merula: Hey... gryffindor...
Malcolm: ...
Merula: ...
Merula: I can't believe I'm saying this but. Can we stop this shit for just one day please!?
Malcolm: And why the fuck should I? After you mocked my brothers? After you sabotaged us in class? After you tried to KILL MY BROTHER BY LOCKING HIM IN A CLOSET!
Malcolm: Why?
Merula takes a deep breath before speaking, her breath is hesitant.
Merula: I... I need your help. And Don't you dare start.
Malcolm: Why? What the fuck could I gain from helping you? And what the fuck do you want from me?
Merula: It's for Alexandros,
She is still getting used to calling him by his first name.
Merula: I- I need to plan a picnic date but I have no idea what to do.
Malcolm: So for my brother... that you tried to kill.
Merula: ....
She looks down at her feet, her crunched up to her torso.
Merula: Because I wanted to confess to him and make ...us... official.
Malcolm: Holy- Shit!
They both sit down and relax their bodies. Both remain quiet for a little bit. Merula is fixing her outfit as she gets prepared to speak.
Merula: There! I said it. Okay... I wanted to make us official because we haven't talked about it and I need your help. You know him the best and your brother, Hufflepuff, wouldn't give me actually advice just dumb shit to fuck with me!
Merula: I fucking hate saying it especially to you! but I need to make this special.
Merula: Deathwood is an absolute idiot and a weak wizard, but...I want to be... together..
Merula: But I don't know enough of what he likes. I am done embarrassing myself so you can trust my motives! OKAY!! Can you- assist me just this ONCE.
Malcolm: I'll help for my brother, but what's in it for me?
Merula: I'll leave you and your friends alone for 2 weeks.
Malcolm: 3.
Merula: A month.
Malcolm: Make it 2.
Merula: FINE!
Malcolm: Okay so you already know he's- well it doesn't matter.
Merula: Yeah I already know he has some mental disorders, doesn't really help with planning.
Malcolm: It should be somewhere quiet so it doesn't bother his ears or leave him irritated. Somewhere with a good view of the outdoors, as he likes that. For some reason he likes darkly lit areas, and prefers the cold then hot places.
Merula: Okay I can work with that, but what about food and drinks?
Malcolm:...Juice boxes.
Merula: what.
Malcolm: Yeah he likes apple juice in a juice box, both of them get really excited when they find a pack in the fridge. But lemonade, fizzy drinks, pumpkin juice are all good options.
Merula: How autistic are your brothers!?
Malcolm: You are the one who wants to be his girlfriend, you shouldn't be judging.
Merula: Sh-shut up and tell me what food he likes!
Malcolm: Well he has quite the appetite, so bring some food. There are a lot of things he wouldn't mind eating and enjoys, like lasagna, or a really good soup.
Merula: Soup?
Malcolm: Yeah with rice, but those are a bit messy so you should go with something like tacos, hotdogs, flautas, or Oh I- yeah so get him so tortas and some potato farls as well as some pumpkin pie.
Merula: We get it you live in a Hispanic house hold, what the fuck is a tu-torta and a potato farllels!?
Malcolm: It's farls and it's Irish, its essientally a potato cake and a torta is a Hispanic sandwich, made with bolillos, a type of bread and a variety of spices.
Merula: You are making it very hard to ste- acquire these items, but fine. Any other recommendations?
Malcolm: Nope, none. just don't be a dick.
Merula: ...Just don't go telling anyone about this, or I'll go back on our deal and make your life hell.
Malcolm: yeah, yeah you don't need to threaten me, I'll keep my promise as long as you do the same.
Her brow is furrowed and full of shame and anger.
Merula: We are not friends b-
Malcolm: Yeah no, Fuck you.
Merula: WELL before you so rudely cut me OFF! I wanted to say Thank you. This means a lot. Ugh I hate being sappy like this- so kindly fuck off!
Malcolm gets up and starts walking away from her, clearly glad to be done talking to her as he flips her the bird. Merula begins speaking to herself.
Merula: Oh merlin, I hate him, and I hated every second this, but... at least it will be worth it.
Merula: Wait! FUCK I didn't ask if there are any outfits that Deathwood would like. I hope my hair isn't too much of a mess.

jealousy really is the driving force of DamiTim as a ship. love that for them. love how Tim has the Robin mantle ripped away from him and he has to suffer the jealousy of watching Dick and Damian bond. how possessive over Dick Tim can be, to have him stolen by Dick.
even more so though, is the jealousy from Damian. how on earth do you cope when you finally get to be Robin, a role you've convinced is your birthright, and no one really likes you? every prefers the Robin who came before you? Dick regularly reminds you that he can always go and call Tim back when you act out? like the complex Damian has over Tim is unreal. Tim, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and had everything handed to him his whole life. he never had to struggle or fight for his place like Damian did. Damian has spent his whole life fighting and proving himself, and yet he can't ever seem to truly claw the mantle of Robin away from Tim. even when Tim lets it go, becomes Red Robin, they seem to share it. Tim can slip back into the role of Robin whenever someone like Dick or Bruce need him to, because *he's* the Robin who they need. he's the Robin who was able to find Bruce. he's the Robin that Ra's wants an heir out of. he's the Robin who even Jason respects. in Damian's eyes, everything Damian has fought tooth and nail for, was handed to Tim.
so of course he's going to react to Tim with violence and aggression, especially after finding out Tim has contingency plans for him. no matter how much Damian proves himself, he's never going to be enough, especially not to Tim. and so his deep refusal to see Tim as family, to acknowledge Tim's legacy is all driven by such an angry jealousy. Tim understands aspects of Bruce's legacy that Damian doesn't, like the need to sweet talk and play nice with the elites of Gotham, even if they're corrupt. they exemplify different aspects of Robin, and the aspects that Tim exemplifies are the aspects that Damian knows he'll never fully understand and therefore holds such a deep contempt for. he wants to fight criminals, not play nice with politicians. Tim understands the side of Gotham that's utterly foreign to Damian. if anything, he represents that side of Gotham, to Damian. a pretty little rich boy who's nothing but a know-it-all and not a real son of Bruce. he can't be a Wayne. he can't be Damian's family.
and all of that angry jealousy leading to unhealthy obsession turned a weird, angry crush from Damian is just my bread and butter. that is how DamiTim should be. to me. Damian obsessed over hating Tim Drake so much he accidentally ends up sort of in love with him and that only makes Damian angrier. because he can't prove everyone right by *also* liking Tim. he can't let Ra's win like that, because frankly why wouldn't Ra's be delighted by Damian and Tim getting together. and it builds and builds with angry passive aggression towards Tim that culminates in angry hate-fucking-that's-not-just-driven-by-hate. love and hate are always viewed as opposites in shipping and i think they're the same intense passion just in different directions. and for the best ships, they're very intertwined. what is DamiTim is not the peak of that. "i put so much of myself into hating you i had no choice but to fall in love with you somewhere along the way" core. love that bleeds into hate and hate that bleeds into love. "you make me so angry i regularly passively try to kill you but not with any real effort because who would i obsess over if you were actually gone" core. murder attempts as a form of courting. contingency plans to take each other out as a love language. they're unwell.

different anon here, i came here wanting to clarify something but i saw that your reply took the words out of my mouth HAHAH it's funny seeing some of us shippers sharing the same braincells and having similar opinions. love this small community but i hope it gets bigger (wake tf up people!!! are 15 consecutive canon suspicious homoerotic chapters not enough for people on the international jjk fandom to finally start shipping them?!)
the something being that i don't sense any malicious hateful intent coming from either gojo or sukuna. this is a rare enemies/rivals trope imo. like their whole theme is about teaching love and trying to maybe come to a mutual understanding despite fate cruelly putting them on the opposite sides, as they are really just different sides of the same coin. and that's one of the many reasons why i love this pairing. it's not easy to find a non-toxic enemies/rivals dynamic portrayal in media so i'm glad that jjk is an exception.
p/s: i'm an extremely introverted person so unfortunately i won't have the social battery to continue this conversation, but thanks for reading my ask! i really want to interact more with my people bc yall are lovely and have great tastes but socializing drains me so much
YES YES ANON, they really don't hate each other at all. one thing i was thinking about is how gojo doesn't seem to think of sukuna as this malicious Evil thing that other sorcerers (rightfully) make him out to be. he... really hasn't been shown to harbor any ill feelings towards sukuna, even after all he's done.
and their fight is playful, they're playing, they're having fun, it's recreation. sure the fate of the world is at stake here, but that's not what it's about for them at all.
there's not hate, not even dislike, it's simply. well to steal canon's words. love. an overwhelming sense of pleasure, of satisfaction, of fulfillment.
and i LOVE that u mention "despite fate cruelly putting them on the opposite sides" bc YEAH YEAH, that's part of the tragedy of them. there's too many factors outside their own personal satisfaction at play.
and i think there is also a bit of a paradox in there. they're looking for someone with whom to share that solitude that comes at the lonely top. but... that's something i don't think to be possible. sure they're equals, that's the thing, but at the same time, their existences clash just by definition. bc there can't be two strongest. there can only be one.
both can't live at the same time. if one lives, the other can't live by definition.
no one understands them bc they're the strongest, but once they find someone who might be able to—and who does—dont they stop being the strongest?

bro ok lemme get this this straight (or, y'know)
i'm literally just about to yap my way through 8x18 so spoilers ig if you're somehow like me and JUST getting to this shit in 2024
we have this set up for megstiel, they have this chemistry, they reference the "pizza man" and honestly make it seem like it was a lot more than just that one kiss we saw, she even calls cas her unicorn, paralleling herself and cas to amelia and sam
but cas has been brainwashed and is beating the shit out of dean while trying to fight against it in naomi's office which is lit with the infamous bi lighting
dean is on his damn knees, begging cas, tells cas he needs him, and cas overpowers the brainwashing
it is not filmed or scripted in a way that makes it seem like it has absolutely anything to do with ANYONE but dean. not sam, not meg, just dean
so they set up that meg is like basically in love with cas??? or whatever the demon version of love is. and then they kill her off (whole other issue but i am so sick of watching all the women[-presenting beings] get called misogynistic terms, beaten up, and killed, tbh it's really pissing me off - same with black characters and other characters of colour like wow) and have cas break through his lobotomization because of dean, then heal him with a hand cupped to his face, bi fuckin lighting, and then claim he doesn't know what "broke the connection".
what the actual fuck are we supposed to take from this lmao
think i'm just typing it out to try to make sense of it in my head like ok don't get me wrong i get why everyone is obsessed with the crypt scene, wowee, but having it in the same episode as meg basically saying she loves cas? cas shows some fondness and maybe even a bit of interest in her flirting but it's veeeeeery CLEARLY not her that breaks naomi's hold on him.
i feel so torn on this because on the one hand it feels like another example of how when your show is so sexist that you kill off every female character then yeah of course we're gonna read the men as queer when they do everything for each other
but then also the bi lighting was obviously so intentional and the "i need you" and ugh
supernatural you will always make me wanna scratch my brain out i guess
sexist, racist, homophobic ass show with the most beautiful, heart wrenching queer love story of ever, somehow both accidental AND on purpose.

I might have posted this before but
We don’t talk enough about how the van scene is also about Will and El and emphasizing to the audience that him making comments like “Mike will be mad” at the roller rink wasn’t him being a saboteur or even competitive, his tone and things was just from his in-the-moment hurt of not even romantically directed jealousy from being ignored and wasn’t about competition with her over Mike.
The van scene emphasized to the audience that this is not a fight. This is not a love triangle. Not because Mike doesn’t view both parties as options like some would argue as the reason. But because Will has refused to participate in it as one. He insists that at absolute most of stretch, it is Mike and El as a couple where he has a crush on Mike and Mike has some feelings for him too but that doesn’t even count and they couldn’t possibly be as big as his feelings for El and he’d get over them quickly, I’m sure, so that doesn’t even count as a love triangle, really.
People joke that it isn’t a love triangle w/o some queer people aside from Twelfth Night type stuff (still arguable), but I think that this is truly just a love “angle” because that third line can be competition between the two “contenders”. But Will refuses to form that line. Even when he was upset and it came out a little bit, we see him compensate immensely.
Just in general I find it so valuable how they frame that. They show Will being supportive to her FIRST. THEN him being upset when Mike is there. Then him being self sacrificially supportive. They make sure that you understand how completely impersonal that “some stupid girl” line was from the previous season. How that was not a setup for anything between him and El. They make it explicitly clear that there is mutual conflict with their relationships with Mike but MIKE is also a conflict in THEIR relationship because they have one.
