I’ve made a realization while doing research for my fic idea: Spearmaster is the smallest and most thin slugcat.
So- Spearmaster is a genetically modified scug, they are built to stab creatures and suck the nutrients out of their innards. However, this is not natural, so everything else about them doesn’t quite conform to this method of feeding.
Look at these two official art pieces (sorry for the low quality)
Iterators are roughly the same size, I believe Pebbles is a bit smaller than Moon, maybe it’s a newer generation thing. But even still Suns and Moon look to be close in generation because their eyes are black unlike the newer generation with the white eyes like Pebbles has, so we should be okay to measure using their height.
You can see that normal slugcats, like Rivulet, are actually quite big, they are almost as tall as iterators in fact. They are only about a head or two shorter I’d say. But look out how big Rivulet is beside Moon compared to how small Spearmaster is beside Suns.
Spearmaster is like half the size of Rivulet!
And see here, look at everyone’s waist compared to Spearmaster’s, the others (aside from Gourmand) stay a roughly rectangular shape all the way down to their tails, but Spearmaster’s dips in half way down.
And in Spearmaster’s arena art (which I cannot find for whatever reason) they don’t fill in nearly as much of the screen, their ears are a bit shorter too. Also, it’s only by pixels, but their model is also thinner and has the ever so slightly shorter ears.
Hunter is the same I believe. Now this is in the void and it is hard to tell Hunter’s size due to them being curled, but they also appear quite a bit smaller than No Significant Harassment. However, this isn’t as plausible, as Hunter has normal sized arena art and a normal sprite size. Maybe it isn’t specifically genetic modification that causes this, though Hunter does have a largely protein based diet, while Spearmaster, again, sucks liquified flesh/organs/blood through a damn straw.
And what spurred this realization? Well, you know how you get a longer, slower jump when you hold a squidcada? Yeah, Spearmaster can just straight up fly with one, they are just that light.
In conclusion, malnourishment? Or something similar? Idk
So, uh, yeah, they little. Thank you for coming to my useless Ted talk, maybe this’ll help artists who want to stay faithful to the in-game designs idk

manifesting a s7 bi buck confirmation where the 118 are on a call and the victim/their friend/Random Civilian is getting annoyed makes a comment aimed at buck & eddie about "straight white men" and they both look offended then eddie says "do I look white???" and buck's like "do I look straight???"
how the others react (if at all) is tbc at this stage
i'm a sucker for inappropriate whisper arguments in the Absolute Worst of Situations so now all i'm seeing is eddie whipping around to buck when he says it with the widest doe eyes any human being has ever achieved and oblivious little buck waving the vic/friend/civilian off like "it's fine, could happen to anyone, you know" and then eddie's like "uh, yeah, it did, you're not straight?" and then it's like for the GA oh no are they going to do a kind of internalised homophobia arc for eddie where he re-examines his entire friendship with buck after finding out he likes men and yes he is going to re-examine his entire friendship with buck after finding out he likes men but it'll be the opposite of internalised homophobia (externalised homoeroticism)

Alright, the kewk classic 'face hole' design it is~ 📊✅
"Ain't he a doll?" 💋💦💕
And now while I fuck with this anatomy sketch 5ever, we gotta decide on a background! I'm thinking Sal would prefer to do his love-sick swooning in the privacy of his bedroom, but where, exactly? 🤔
'The bed'-
Perks: seems more routine, sowft snuggly nest to daydream and swoon in, [darling] collage on the wall, '... okay, what have you been doing with that pillow...?'
Drawbacks: Limited space, have to take stability/sinking into account with props, perspective is Hard and I will make that headboard look good or die trying
'The floor'-
Perks: seems more impulsive, more yan/NEET clutter potential (more room to spread out), a glimpse under his bed (and at all the [darling] stuff he's got shoved under there)
Drawbacks: That carpet is UGLY, I will probably (definitely) bite off more than I can chew trying to fill all that space with props, it hurts my Everything just thinking about lying on the floor like that for too long
'Secret third thing'-
....???? idk you tell me lol

#the idea symbiotes join to trills to try and discover what childhood is or was anew with each host (via @spocks-evil-godmother)
Forgive me for bringing your words out of the tags but YES, I genuinely think this is the heart of what this 'symbiosis' is! I maintain that the joining is ultimately it's about the symbionts wanting to experience other forms of life as much as they could, and explore the world through other creature's senses, and in turn (bipedal) Trills get to experience the lives of others in the same all-consuming sharing of perspective. I think the symbionts are essentially curious about everything, but have evolved to have such radically different sensory and cognitive apparatuses compared to bipedal Trills that anything beyond very basic communication between the two species is impossible, so in order to 'see' the world outside the Mak'ala caves they started 'hacking' their way into other beings' nervous systems. It would be horrifying in any other context but here it isn't! The Trill seem to have figured out pretty early on that they could just choose whether or not taking in a symbiont, and I always got the feeling that the symbionts ultimately care a great deal about their hosts, because they can't not; the symbionts are the hosts, for as long as they are joined. The joining always goes two ways, and every host is a completely new and different (and exciting!) existence.
