I don’t know who originally made the theory, but someone on reddit theorized that the cabin is actually near a forgotten mining region, which would explain the animals being exposed to toxic chemicals, the amount of mushrooms in the area, the remains of people who lived there in the past, in part to why their hallucinations could be as bad as they are if they’re eating elements of the forest, and the red in the stream that they had originally thought of as blood or an omen. misty was the one to say what the mineral deposits could be but no one listened…

update: okay I think this is the original

#i have 3 of them will show the others l8r #So abt the ferrets #i was told they had: 1) no history of abuse 2) no behavioural issues 3) had only been rehomed twice #All of this was not true #idk how to explain how bad it got.#i was prepared for the ferrets bein difficult right #Like i expected 2 toddlerz #but they had issues 4 sure #We found out that they have been rehomed 7 times already #they’re at a special behavioural ferret place now #it rly devastated me #I hate rehoming/giving animals back #thatswhy i ended up in hospital after they were gone i decided to overdose #i am a failure. I failed them #so i was like ‘fuck it’#and i did it #it was dumb huh #the ferrets weren’t evil #i dont hate them #But i was scared of them #It got to a point where i locked myself in the bathroom 24/7 bc they had my flat to themselves #I couldn’t leave the room to play with them or sit and do my work bc they would always bite me #For no reason #like i thought they were scared or upset or bored and i did everything to try and help that #but they would bite and drag into my skin #i was bleeding constantly and one of them kept going for like arteries #i knew they bite so at first i was like ‘whatever’ but they got worse #I couldnt interact w them anymore #I loved them a lot #I love ferrets

Me watching the episode “Exposed” for the first time as a kid: haha Rex wants the news station to give him attention

Me rewatching that episode now, coming to the realization that the reason Rex wants so much attention from the camera crew is because he’s been disregarded so many times in his life as nothing more than a weapon and has never received any attention from other people besides Holiday and Six that aren’t negative for so long, which also explains why he’s such a people-pleaser, since he just wants positive attention and be accepted outside of just being a literal weapon:

#everyday I think about the implications of Rex living in Providence #and how ridiculously fucked up it was for a literal child to be there #ah the moral ambiguity of Generator Rex will forever make me lose it #its so goddamn interesting #honestly if it weren’t for the fact that Rex was an EVO id like to think CPS would have Providence’s head by now #its kinda like an X-Men thing but worse since no one out there is really fighting for like EVOs rights as living breathing creatures #the majority of people just accepts the fact that these things are just monster and nothing more #not to say that there aren’t people out there who care about EVOs #there was that one group who kept freeing wild EVOs but that’s also another side of the coin really #they were causing more problems because those EVO were kept locked up for a reason #they’re dangerous and having them out in the wild would be recklessly stupid #characters like Hunter Cain are people who don’t think EVOs deserve to live #meanwhile there also people who would free wild and dangerous EVOs who could definitely kill a human #its just. so nuance and it makes me want to go feral #Providence does so much dehumanization its kinda ridiculous #its fucked up but thats what makes it so compelling for me #maybe I *should* write an essay on this show at some point #generator rex #the fire burns #rex salazar

retreat day 4 done. it’s been a really good day i think

#purrs #we did feedback and i was the only person who cried and i cried twice LOL. once while giving feedback and once while receiving it. the #feedback that made me cry was that…. omg… someone in my pod CAME TO THE RETREAT BECAUSE OF ME. i was the reason for someone. omg i teared up #immediately. and so many other ppl remembered interacting w me during the lockdown when iwas suffering so bad and it made me so emotional in #a good way. we didn’t give up. we kept pushing on. and it MATTERED. there’s a whole group of ppl in the community room now (i just got back)#and they’re eating and talking and laughing and hugging and leaning on each others shoulders and writing each other letters. and i helped to #make that happen. and we all poured our whole hearts in. and im so grateful and so proud. im not prepared to facilitate AT ALL lmao and we h #have to be out of here in 13 hours and i haven’t finished writing my notes yet. but im content and happy. and i feel like ive made (perhaps #only temporary but still) peace w the wounds that got ripped open last night. so i feel good. i can’t believe it’s almost over #retreat tag #also apparently i am a meerkat btw.#<- according to someone in my pod who gave everyone feedback in the form of animal metaphors 🥹

#The Fable of Wren #aroaessidhe 2022 reads #yeah this was....uh #the writing is pretty bad which is the cause of most of my problems i guess #idk if it’s trying to be atmospheric or magical realism vibes or what but that does not come across #its trying to have vibes and it has 0 vibes #there’s also like… it’s in first person but the writing style of the prose is very formal but their dialogue is written with a very souther #southern accent so that comes off weird. write the prose like that too coward #i fully kept thinking their dialogue was a different character #a lot of random deep lines that just feel odd #it also has that -character says something generic and reasonable -character blows up at them and an argument starts which feels very “plot #notes: and then they have an argument”#also what is this a birdwatching cult. i feel like if you just called this group birdwatchers that would make sense but Citizens? you sound #like a cult. i was trying to figure out what even it was about but they’re literally just a weird group of birdwatchers who have some brief #mythology about a rare-ish bird? why are you writing this in a way that makes it sound like a cult?#the friend dude is annoying in like. the way he's written is annoying #also i read this bc the mc is ace but it's literally like. in the last chapter they allude to the fact that they don't want to date #also are they hallucinating their uncles ghost like every 50 pages #what's that about
