AEW needs a HARD reset after All In 2024

I'd like to think the mass consensus from fans will feel the same about this and, for me, it's been a long time coming, maybe as far as all the way back when Collision first started this was needed.

But let's explore this.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong (good chance I am), but when TK announced Collision, what, only last June!? (wow feels like it's been about 3 years) he spoke of this being an entirely new show, with its own roster (to deal with how bloated the roster was and still is) AND its own championships (plenty of new ones have been created since Collision started, but I always assumed this meant the titles would just be spread out better) - and so far we've had NONE of those things happen.

Granted, I think a lot of events off-screen have led ultimately to the state we're in now - when Collision first started, it was billed as the show that would let the likes of Miro, Will Hobbs, House of Black, Ricky Starks etc reign supreme and vibe the night away as "top guys" since there was no room for that on Dynamite; at the time Dynamite was still heavily utilising, ironically, a lot of their "original" young talent that between then and now are either: Indefinitely suspended (Sammy Guevara) Indefinitely injured (Darby Allan) Exiled from the company (Jack Perry, albeit he's FINALLY came back, so there's hope here) Taking an indefinite break/might not even come back (MJF) Basically, the 4 pillars (should be 5 with Britt Baker imo but I digress as Taz would say). To my case and point right there, Miro isn't with the company anymore (idk if it's not official as of yet or anything, but he's leaving), Hobbs is injured (again), House of Black are AT LEAST doing cool shit and are still super over with this Cope Open shtick (should be the flagship storyline on Collision JUST SAYING hence this minor diatribe) and Ricky Starks is also injured (again) and potentially not coming back either. And NOW, we've just started this incredible Elite storyline, and brought in arguably 2 of the best wrestlers to have ever existed in Will Osprey and Kazuchika Okada (hell, we've even put a belt on Kaz in this time). And those are the types of talent that should be front and centre on Dynamite, cool, fine, but we're still squeezing Collision talent onto Dynamite and squeezing Dynamite stories into Collision. Both shows ave become so disjointed and wholly chaotic these days (like depending on who's coming out on Dynamite they literally don't care about The Elite hijacking the show or attacking their boss because "they're not in the storyline" give me a break!), and don't even get me started on Rampage, which seriously is just a waste of time these days. So, I'm left asking, what the fuck.

But it's okay! Uncle Kaz has got it covered (remember I'm not a booker). So okay, I've talked about nothing but problems (and probably leaving some stuff out) so let's quickly shift to solutions:

Clearly, we're building up to giving William Birdman a title (or THE title?) at All In, which is unofficially becoming AEW's answer to Wrestlemania (even though they'd probably prefer it to be Wrestldream) which is fine and totally makes sense (notwithstanding the whole ENGLISH thing). Now I'm going down the road that it's going to be the TNT Title, which even though I earlier mentioned Will as being "Dynamite talent", is a GOOD thing. Because if we're going down the road of hitting reset on AEW as a product by that point, then this would make for a good way to elevate "new" Collision (don't worry, I'll get to Rampage soon cause I have plans for that too). On a slight tangent, it's seems too painfully obvious that Mercedes Mone is winning the TBS Title at Double or Nothing, cool no problems. She would also be a great fit in a new Collision, if they decide to let her retain at All In (you best believe she's either walking in or certainly walking out Wembley as some sort of champion). So hypothetically speaking, if you were to have the likes of Will and Mercedes to ring in a new era of Collision after All In, I'd be....ugh, "all in" (god I hate myself) with that idea, cause they would just be placeholders before moving up to Dynamite to challenge for the "bigger" belts. That's not to say you couldn't do the same with Willow and Adam Copeland, far from it, but I'm just thinking as grand as I can. Another step to take would be to unify the Continental and International championship into the WORLDWIDE championship, and put that on Collision also. So let's take a look at what I'm proposing as far as championships are concerned: Dynamite: World Men's World Women's Men's Tag Collision: TNT TBS Unified Continental/International (WORLDWIDE) Women's Tag (NEW) Men's Trios

(No mention of FTW cause quite frankly, fuck that title wasting tv time every week and every ppv)

In my grand schemes, I'd love to make Collision a more Women heavy show, cause they hardly get any time on Dynamite, and if they do it's either to do with Toni Storm (via Mariah) or a backstage section with Willow (the ENTIRE women's division everyone, great!) and even then they feel like they're being crammed in, whereas utilising Collision for more women time would be so much better, BECAUSE the top of the women's division is so strong it's scary, but the midcard is woeful at best, so they REALLY need building up - I also created women's tag titles up there, because, come on, it's time, get with 2024 TK. I know Collision is looking title heavy, but Collision was ALWAYS meant to be about the wrestling, the literal theme of Collision is that "Saturday's are good nights for fighting" or whatever the fuck they say. Case in point, the Cope Open would serve so much better (as would HOB) on Collision where their pure wrestling storytelling would shine through far better than Dynamite with its heavy-handed focus on promos and spoken storylines. And for the love of everlasting fuck, can we PLEASE implement a factor in that the TBS and TNT titles can be sold for world title shots, it's been something TNA has had for the longest time that I've been flabbergasted as to why nobody else has done it. THIS would then give credence/allowance for Collision stars to start appearing on Dynamite (nod nod wink wink to Will Ospraey) and would dramatically eliminate the (correct) criticism of having randoms get title shots for no reason other than existing. And for god sake, I'm not saying implement a draft, but PLEASE just have two distinctly separate rosters, if I'm watching Danny Garcia on Dynamite AND Collision back to back instead of other wrestlers I'm gonna get a bit annoyed (I use Garcia here because I think he could do wonders on Collision as one of its top stars). I think doing this you can filter away people who might be lost in favour with the main Dynamite crowd (Jericho) without hurting his storyline or the AEW brand as a whole (Dynamite after all is the show they need to be successful here). As for Rampage, just make it into proto-NXT, assimilate ROH into it, make it 2 hours long, and will somebody PLEASE create a TV Title, my god! We're not doing anything with ROH, it's slowly dying, and stars on there, like Athena DESERVE to be on proper television (I can say that as a Brit who only gets Dynamite, Collision and Rampage on television here, not ROH). And just start developing raw talent on there. Say what you want about Dark and Dark Elevation (I miss them personally) but they did a damn good job of building talent up for AEW (you'd be surprised how many of your current favourites built up love with the fans by specifically being on Dark) and I think we can make Rampage into AEW's answer to NXT. In my mind I'm thinking, "better than WCW Thunder, not as good as NXT".

What Surf II 1987 Surf Rock / Surf Punk

Alright, a little bit of history here before we get into this very short and also very good comp that presents surf tunes from both the past and a then-present 1980s. The label that put this release out, the Los Angeles-based Iloki Records, did not always have that name. Prior to that, Iloki was known as What Records, and its biggest claim to fame was that they had put out some seminal LA punk releases in 1977, both The Germs' debut single, Forming, and The Dils' debut, I Hate the Rich.

But label owner Chris Ashford would end up selling the name to a Christian label in Texas called Word Records, and that move would then force him to come up with something else to call his company. At the time, he had found that he was really into instrumental surf music, so he chose the name Iloki, which sounds Hawaiian and reflects the label's own surfy output, but doesn't actually mean anything in Hawaiian itself. What it does refer to, though, is Ashford's own attitude as someone who was running a record label: "I, low-key."

Now, the coastal SoCal 80s had this little indie and punky surf revival scene going on, and Ashford was into both the music that spurred on that revival in the first place as well as the products of that revival movement itself. So, that's what you get on this little 22-minute, 10-song record: straight-up surf stuff from the 60s, like teen and biker flick soundtrack staple Davie Allan & The Arrows; 80s bands covering 60s classics, like The Surf Raiders' take on The Ventures' "Surf Rider" and The Halibuts' rendition of The Lively Ones' "Rawhide (Surf Drums);" and then some 80s surf-punk cuts as well, like the kings of that 80s Cali scene, the OC's own Agent Orange, playing a punkier version of a Dick Dale tune.

Plus, some of these fantastic tracks appear to be exclusives too. The Burglars, a one-off trio that consisted of another LA punk legend, Chemical People frontman Blair Jobe, seem to have contributed the only song that they'd ever recorded: "Run for Your Life." And then there's The Pandoras, an all-female band who were more part of the 60s garage rock revival scene at the time, delivering a cover of an instrumental version of the theme tune from a 1967 racing flick called Thunder Alley.

So, overall, some great Cali surf, surf revival, and surf punk instrumentals all throughout this little 80s LP. And a portion of them appear to be rare gems too 😊.

We're back from camp and enjoying the last bits of the summer before the seasons change and the new school year begins, I've chosen to homeschool through the year just to lessen the intensity of the workload for the kids. Working all year means that I can tailor how much work they do in the average day/week in event that we need to travel somewhere for longer periods of time, that gives them days off when we're on holiday so I don't need to worry about meeting the quota for the day. The kids have been chatting excitedly nonstop and have spent hours and hours telling me all the stories of them playing with their cousins and their other friends at camp, hearing the joy in their voices bring a joy to my heart. This was the childhood that I had (without the siblings), seeing my friends every summer and growing up with friends that encouraged me in the Lord whilst we were also being taught how to be in him. These 5 girls right here were my right hand, so to speak, while we were at camp. Whilst at home they do help with the younger ones, but prefer to focus on the childcare and have them help with house chores since those are much more age appropriate than changing a baby's diaper. All my older girls took it upon themselves to use their mornings to spend time with their siblings after they'd eaten breakfast whilst Barrett and I ate our breakfast in the morning, afterwards we'd send them off to their respective zones. Being halfway through this pregnancy means that I tire easier than usual, so dealing with the littles requires a little extra help.

The children have gone back to having their music time at the big house, either Macie, Annette, or another girl from church will give the children their music lessons. On special days when she's got the time, Casandra herself will give the kids their piano lessons, it's so great that the kids get to bond with their grandparents. Since there's relatives all over Newcrest, there's always someone dropping in to the big house to spend time, so the kids are always coming home with stories about chatting with Barrett's aunts and uncles. They say that it takes a village to raise a child, and I feel so blessed with our family and community that are as dedicated as I am in bringing up children in the way of the Lord. While we wish we could have travelled to Windenburg for the fundraising gala, but it just didn't fit in our schedule as well as planning for travel with all the kids for such a short period of time, we did watch the videos that were sent onto the different family group chats. It's so great that Brittany and Colton are working to make Windenburg better with legislation and helping put God back into the government.

Recently, we got to head to a marriage retreat in a nearby town with Allan and Casandra. Both of them had speaking parts at various times so we planned ahead, left the kids at the big house with Macie and Annette and enjoyed the weekend away. It's so great being taught about the different ways that us spouses can show up for each other to continue to strengthen our marriage. It's so inspiring seeing Allan and Casandra still putting in the work on their marriage after all these years together, it shows that there's always work to be done!

Cain and Jack? It's simple. The strongest they can get. Which is probably the infinity/galaxy weapons, even if they'd prolly never unlock the infinity weapons.

Bo has an old sword from Amelia, a galaxy sword, that he uses! He even repairs it himself because he doesn't trust weapon smiths. Sure, he has a sword of his own, but why use that where's this so much sentimental value behind an old sword you were gifted?

Allan does not fight, but if he had to, he'd probably prefer blunt weapons. As of now, he has a baseball bat he'll use at the side of his bed.

Cain- Definitely melons. They have a fun little charm to them.

Jack- Probably cranberries or cauliflower.

Allan- Doesn't care for the money aspects, but he does appreciate it when Bo brings him a fresh pineapple to munch on.

Cain's not the biggest fan of the mines, due to the hard work that's needed to get down there.

Jack enjoys the mines, despite there being danger at almost every corner.

Bo's so used to the mines he has to love them. Crimson Badlands and Skull Caverns are totally different question.

Allan has never even stepped foot near the mines. He has no reason to go up to the guild or in the mineshaft. Plus, there's a lake blocking his way there and he is deathly afraid of large bodies of water.

Cain and Jack are GREAT at cooking, this was canon before I even inserted them into the sdv universe. They've been around for over a hundred years, so they'd had to pick it up eventually.

Bo's half-decent at cooking. He can make himself a meal, and he can follow the instructions to a T, but do not ask him to add anything extra because he will fuck up the taste.

Allan's pretty good at cooking. Bo swears he's better than Gus, but Allan heavily disagrees. Bo is also delusional and up his own ass half the time, so there's no clear person to believe, really.

I am the worst kind of thing when it comes to fanfic: a Devil's Advocate.

Because, for the most part (With occasional exceptions) I don't read it, and I don't read it for kind of exactly the reason all the haters would say I'm not supposed to like reading it too much:

Like, if I think about some prose fiction that has really spoken to me, really stayed with me, really "touched my soul" or done whatever elusive, hard to describe thing great art does, I think of like, Edgar Allan Poe's Man of The Crowd, Herman Melville's Bartleby The Scrivener, or Jorge Luis Borges' Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius.

Now, one of the problems with these status games is you always risk someone going, "Edgar Allan Poe? How middlebrow." but I think I'm on solid ground in saying most people would consider those to be extremely important and artistically complex texts.

And I'm skeptical that the kinds of things I get out of those texts are ever going to show up in an amateur Batman story. I mean, you never know, but it seems unlikely.

However,

Criticism of fanfic usually involves smuggling in a bunch of assumptions about what art is for and how it works that I don't agree with.

Gonna repost this because the person whose dash I saw it on doesn't want to talk about it anymore:

"Queer kids shouldn't learn what it means to be queer by reading recycled Disney IP"

I mean, that's probably true (Although... Not actually entirely obvious), but the implication is that kids should "learn what it means to be queer" by reading "legitimate queer stories".

And like, okay, can you make the case that great art can or should teach you "what it means to be queer" without distracting people by throwing brickbats at something popular?

Like, what teaches you more about "what it means to be queer", a great story by a queer author with deeply buried queer subtext, or a mediocre story with explicit queer text?

Does art actually help us learn anything? I think reading Poe is deeply valuable, I'm not exactly sure it has taught me anything, per se. I suppose it has in the sense that every experience teaches you something.

Is there any reason to think that great art is a better teacher than mediocre art? Like, I'm sure James Joyce is stylistically superior to most people who write math word problems, that doesn't mean it would be easier to learn algebra from a textbook that read like Uylesses, dig?

Does attending a showing of The Importance of Being Earnest tell us much about "what it means to be queer"?

Like, I feel like there's hidden assumptions here about why people should consume art and I'm not sure they'd be as easy to defend if they weren't cloaked behind an attack on fiction that lacks certain merits.

Robin Hood Rewatch: 2x08 Get Carter!

This is actually one of my favourite episodes of the season, partly because I really enjoy relationship angst, but mostly because we get multiple characters dealing with their trauma/grief. If we can't get these guys and gals into therapy, at least we get to see them talk (and hug) it out.

Also the best episode title they're had for a while - I have no doubt one of the writers is a fan, and Carter is so named only because they wanted to make this reference. The assassin seeking revenge for a dead brother is wholesale lifted from the plot of the film, and Joseph Kennedy almost has a passing resemblance to Michael Caine's look in that role.

"Get Carter - before Carter gets you!"

Carter is one of the only guest stars they actually will bring back later, and for good reason.

"Why don't you ever kiss my ring?" Vaisey, always making things creepy.

Marian is simmering with unrestrained anger, eager to get into the fight, while Robin is the one advocating for the watch and see approach, and it’s quite the role reversal.

The gang's reaction to her charging off is quite funny though, she knocks John over completely and Djaq throws her hands in the air.

Robin’s now getting a taste of what the rest of the gang have to put up with dealing with his recklessness.

Tying Marian up in the middle of a melee, however, is disgusting behaviour - while Marian was hot-headed throwing herself into the fight (nothing Robin hasn't done before himself), he knows that she can hold her own with a sword and doesn't need protecting. Tying her hands is the absolute worst thing he could have done, because how is she meant to defend herself? I can somewhat understand where Robin is coming from in this episode (even if he goes about it badly), but this is unjustifiable.

Clearly she gave that guard she clanked on the head amnesia, because he never reports back that Marian was fighting with the gang.

“I owe you my life”/“I won’t take it just yet.” Nice.

Scimitar is still missing in action.

Robin doesn’t want Marian to be seen in case she needs to return to the castle, when he’s spent the whole season urging for her to join the gang. I think he realises he made a mistake asking her to flee last episode without giving her time to deal with her grief, and wants to leave her options open. But telling her that she’s not ready to make the decision (about whatever she wants to go back), however correct, is patronising.

There's a fundamental conflict that Marian wants to be treated like a member of the gang, but doesn't want to cede to Robin's authority like the rest of the gang - in turn Robin expects her to follow his orders like the others, but isn't treating her like he would the others either - he would never tie them up to keep them out of a fight, and Marian has every right to pissed at him about it.

Djaq and Much having a little tête-à-tête about Carter - I just really enjoy that they’re often paired together in these gang scenes, they balance/play off each other so well. Just this pure platonic frazzled vs calm vibe.

Much just has this really great memory for faces - he was able to recognise fake Richard last season just from his profile despite wearing a helmet, and now he knows he remembers Carter's face from somewhere (or as it will turn out, Carter's brother).

Much really just does not let up, and I love that about him. "You'll be disappointed though, with uh, today's wound. I mean if you're planning to go back to the Holy Land and, uh, kill him." That not so subtle probing for information and Sam Troughton's delivery is always perfect.

"Wasn't me, was it?" Oh Much, so close.

“The crusty one” - lol

It's not explicit, but implied that Vaisey and Guy believe Edward was the one passing information to Robin, and Marian is cleared of any suspicion (paving the way for her return). Guess Guy never showed the Sheriff that hair dagger after all.

Vaisey is actually giving Guy some really good advice here, albeit laced with his usual cruelty and getting all up in Guy's personal space.

"Grow up Gisborne" - now I don't think it's deliberate on Vaisey's part to invoke a Marian parlance, seeing as she really only says this to Robin (and once to Much), but it's a nice little callback, however unintentional.

Marian asks for an apology (and deserves one), but Robin doubles down and doesn't come out of this exchange well.

Because his delivery is terrible, but he's otherwise quite correct - as skilled as Marian is, she’s used to relying on (and having to worry about) only herself and not work in a team, and look to a single point of command. But both of them have their backs up - they're two strong personalities and neither is going to give ground, reverting to the ideological clashes of season 1, except now in much closer quarters.

Robin's also not used to being challenged in this particular way, and in his frustration is reacting like a captain disciplining a soldier, not a lover helping their partner through their grief. I do wonder if the conversation would have gone differently if they'd been alone.

A really great scene between Marian and John aka the camp dad. Marian really just needs someone to listen to her and appreciate what she's going through - Robin is too fixated on the dangerous way she's channeling her grief and not even trying to address the root cause. He trying to tell her what to do, not listen to what she actually needs.

On the other hand it's probably better coming from John, a neutral party without the emotional baggage she has with Robin.

Because Robin and Marian are really being driven by completely different motives - Marian by grief and therefore loss, and Robin by trauma and therefore fear. In her sorrow, Marian has lost all her fear of being discovered, in fact she wants to make it know she's with the gang, to finally be free to say which side she's on and fight openly, to make her father's death worthwhile, and can't understand why Robin is trying to stifle that.

"I thought you used to have your own men Little John?" So someone remembers Forrest and Hanton!

After Carter takes down the gang one by one, Robin takes down Carter in three seconds (including catching the long dagger Carter throws at him, and flinging it back) and it's lights out. Can you believe it's the first concussion of the season? (Notwithstanding the multiple head injuries Allan sustained last episode).

While Marian has been known to be punch-happy, the "he'll tell us more if he knows we're willing to hurt him" is just so (intentionally) out of character - it is however somewhat reminiscent of Robin in 1x08, wanting to get his punch and torture on with Guy. However rather than understanding where Marian is coming from, he pushes her away with the "go and cook something" jibe. This almost feels like he was going for familiar banter and miscued, but is also an asshole thing to say. When their positions were reversed in 1x08 Marian at least tried to reason with him - Robin is seems to be ill-equipped to do the same.

Allan just having a little snooze against the castle wall. He really seems defeated and depressed after last episode.

Marian's corset has a pouch to hold a dagger - or at least I hope there is because otherwise it's ouch time.

Leaving Marian at the camp is again a mistake on Robin's part - it excludes and isolates her from the gang, rather than trying to involve her so she can bond with them, engaging in their outreach to the peasants - who she helped as the Nightwatchman, but never really had the opportunity to come to know. It would remind her that they are not just fighting against the Sheriff but for the people, which in her frenzied grief she has perhaps lost sight of.

Instead, Robin's focus is on Carter, who he rather identifies with and so finds it easier to address his motives, and try and change them.

Carter is in many ways Robin’s dark mirror, what he could have become in the Holy Land if he chose a different path. It’s important that this happens right when Robin is backsliding - he’s trying to save his own soul as much as Carter’s.

Okay, let's talk about Marian’s forest gear - fashioned from the outfit she wore when she fled the castle the previous episode - but dear me it's awful. The grey culottes, rather than becoming trousers have now been turned into that corset, and her vest/skirt overlay have now become those trousers. Just baffling.

“I’m good with nuns” followed by Allan straight up knocking the Mother Superior over and stealing her ring is iconic.

Much gives Robin a sword to use going after Carter - still no scimitar.

I really love the confrontation/fight scene between Robin and Carter - it's very well choreographed and written, but we also see the best of Robin's character (after seeing some of the worst earlier).

Carter's brother is called Thomas - Allan's brother was called Tom. Lots of dead brothers in this show (including Djaq's).

The story of Carter's brother Thomas dying because he "stopped listening" and led a raid against orders is a little on the nose, but gives context to Robin’s fear for Marian’s safety in part triggered by his war trauma - someone charging in against orders and then dying in his arms.

But it shows Robin as a man who, even when Thomas' recklessness had cost not only his own life but others of Robin's men, was still moved to instruct the stretcher-bearers to make Thomas the hero, and himself the negligent captain, in order to comfort his family.

The fight is fairly even, and although Robin gets the upper hand in the end, it's only partly his skill - rather his true strength is in reaching the man inside the assassin, and then surrender and allow Carter to take his revenge if that's what he wants, and despite his fear, trust that there is good still in him, and that he can leave behind the life as a killer as Robin has done (tried to do).

This scene is the core of why I really love Robin as a character. He's riddled with PTSD and a reckless bravado, he's at time emotionally stunted with those he loves, makes terrible mistakes and often says the wrong thing, but he also has this great heart and compassion that allows him to reach people, to understand and help them, even at the risk of his own life. He's trying.

"He was a hero - just not on that day" is quite a poignant line.

Much and Djaq together again, just saying.

Robin finally finds out that Roger of Stoke was intercepted. I had assumed he'd figured that out once he knew Allan was a traitor but okay.

Poor Much crying out for Robin's attention - he's got his own trauma from the war and wants to talk about it, to commiserate with Robin about what they went though, but Robin can only cope by not talking about it, not even thinking about it.

Much makes a good point that Robin should have listened to him about recognising Carter, but it comes across as jealously over Marian and Robin misses just how deeply Much carries his hurt.

One of Robin's biggest flaws is that he's overwhelming in his affection, compassion, and understanding for strangers, but takes those he loves for granted - Carter's response to grief was the same as Marian's, but Robin listened to Carter, consoled and comforted him, while keeping Marian at arm's length. Perhaps because strangers don't ask for anything beyond that - it is the granting of kindness, but not the sharing of self. It's the latter Robin truly fears, but what Much and Marian deserve (although tbf Marian has problems with this as well).

“Either I’m part of your gang or I’m not” is a valid point, and Robin's still not happy even when she agrees to stay behind!

But she disobeys him, and saves his life. It's a rite of passage - almost all of the members of the gang have this.

Allan looking rather distressed as Guy is about the chop off Robin's head, and he makes a small movement just before the swing (as does Much).

Guy again pushing Marian past the point of discomfort - she left, wrote him a letter asking him to leave her alone, straight up told him to his face to leave her alone, and still he persists.

Her kissing Guy (to distract him from seeing Much and Will) is really the only time she sends mixed signals, but Guy's whole energy seems to be just to wear her down until she agrees to be with him and it's gross. It is however kind of amusing that he tries to be authoritative and forbid her from leaving, and she immediately walks away.

Robin and Marian are back in playful banter mode, although I wish there had been a deeper discussion (and that Robin had apologised in return). It doesn't quite feel like the conflict between them has been resolved, it really is just a "truce".

But I do like that it's Marian who reaches out to Robin at the end of this episode, because up until this point it's Robin who has been (somewhat) the one making overtures - asking her to join the gang, telling her he needs her, telling her he loves her, while Marian's been more reserved. This feels like her acknowledging that sometimes she needs to take the first step.

This was a long one - but as a I said, I really love this episode!

Charles and Lorilee are married! After months of planning they had a wonderful winter wedding at Lorilee’s home church in the Windenburg countryside. Around 600 people came together to watch them vow to love, honour, and cherish each other for life! It’s been great for all of us to be together again for the wedding (with the exception of Beckett and Mandy in Selvadorada) to celebrate a new person joining the family. After this wedding the only unmarried siblings will be Macie, Annette, Parker, and Ashton!

The wedding party was comprised of Lorilee’s friend Lana Ford, our little sister Ashton, and our sister Amira as bridesmaids, with Lorilee’s sister Delaney as the Maid of Honour. Charles had our brother Parker as his Best man, followed by our brother Barrett, our cousin Zachary, and Lorilee’s brother Wesley as groomsmen. The flower girls were Barrett and Kyleigh’s girls Chloe, Rose, and Violet. They looked so pretty in their flower girls dresses, the wedding colour scheme was lavender and navy, and the two colours worked beautifully together especially with the bridesmaids dresses.

It’s so great seeing my parents at weddings, whilst they’re emotional at seeing a child get married they're overjoyed at the fact that the child they've raised to serve the Lord has found someone to marry and raise up a new generation for the Lord. Charles and Lorilee said they'd be open to whatever plans the Lord had for them, so the future is looking bright! As Lorilee was walking down the aisle with her dad, it brought me back to walking down the aisle with my dad all those years ago, Lorilee said at the reception that she prayed the entire way down the aisle so she wouldn't be so nervous!

Their wedding pictures came out so nice! It started to lightly snow as they were taking pictures and I think it made their pictures turn out so magical! They hired professional photographers who are friends of Lorilee's family and it was definitely worth the price! It was a great time for everyone to come together, after the two family weddings the next big thing is a bunch of the cousins going on a missions trip to Selvadorada! A group is going to join Beckett and Mandy there in the mission field and will be there over the new year, what a blessing!
