Don't mind me, I'm just thinking about the mirroring between Draco Malfoy knowing who Harry Potter was before they arrived at Hogwarts, and assuming that he would want to be friends with him because he's a Malfoy, and Scorpius Malfoy knowing who Albus Severus Potter was before they arrived at Hogwarts, but assuming that he wouldn't want to be friends with him because he's a Malfoy.

The stark difference between those two initial meetings is so, so important to me. And I will forever love Albus for seeing past the Malfoy name because, even though everyone was telling him that Scorpius was the "wrong sort", he went with his heart and found his soulmate.

I'm gonna fucking cry. I just can't stop thinking about how Anthony looked so in pain when Ian talked, like he was trying to stop himself from crying so hard it hurt. You can literally see his face crunch and his eyes swell up. The way his face lights up when Ian tells him he loves him. And how Ian, despite not being the best at emotions, used the one and only time he could go as hard as he wants on his best friend to tell him "Ahaha you were ugly as a baby, but no fr, I'm so glad to be your friend and I love you"??? Even one of them (can't remember who) said that Ian looked alive now that Anthony came back. God, they really are each other's favorite person. I can't deal with that.

Shinjiham is cute when it’s romantic but tbh I think i vastly prefer the idea of them being best friends instead. Like, neither of them really saw it coming and weren’t really looking to get another best friend (Shinji has Akihiko, Kotone has Junpei and Yukari respectively) but it happens anyway. Kotone takes a liking to Shinji much faster than she does anyone else and I’d say a big reason is just the fact that he’s so reserved that it allows Kotone to do most of the talking while he just listens and they love this arrangement cuz Kotone doesn’t get to talk about her own interests very much. Though I think some of her needs to talk to Shinji stems from this insecurity that he isn’t happy in the group and she has this people pleasing problem and wants everyone to be happy so she makes a much bigger effort to talk to Shinji. And it’s very unfortunate because Shinji intentionally acts cold and distant because he doesn’t want to form any attachments because he wants to die soon, but aaaaaaaagh dammit this girl just keeps talking to him and being sweet and encouraging him to engage in his interests and share them with the others and he just can’t seem to say no when she’s got those damn puppy eyes. And Kotone is just able to get him out of his shell by being persistent but not in an overwhelming way, she’s very cheerful and supportive of him. And Shinji is able to offer her support by encouraging her to talk about herself and by making sure she’s taking care of herself. They just click really well and make such a positive dent in each other’s lives and it’s all about basic acts of kindness going a long way you know?

It's so hard being obsessed with Riz and Fabian's platonic relationship bc no one understands them like I do. They're boy best friends they're foils they're equal and opposite. The thought of kissing each other makes them both want to vomit. It isn't a qpr but they are still soulmates. They're a little obsessed with each other. They make each other better. When they're together it inevitably becomes teen boy chaos. And it's so categorically not romantic I cannot stress enough how non-romantic it is. It's the best thing ever and it's tragically misunderstood

Don't know if this is a hot take, but Mai and Yue are essentially the same character but on opposite sides of the coin

yeah i've said this before! (i drew mai & yue & toph together w the caption "repressed rich girls" years ago but i can't find it now lol. maybe i'll redraw it....) toph breaks free (ignoring comics & lok continuity lol) and mai.... is getting there (getting back together with zuko is such a massive L lmfao yikes) and i guess ymmv depending on what you envision for yue in her spiritlife (but either way she didn't have to marry hahn and that is in itself a W). but yeah mai and yue (and toph) occupy very similar roles in their respective societies (and obviously azula is the even more obvious parallel as she is literally a princess). the way expectations for women (and in toph's case, compounded by her disability) intersect with class privilege and how despite living in insulated wealth in an otherwise war-torn world, they still long for freedom despite the consequences.
