hi i just went on a binge spree of reading all ur izumi fics and can i just say i LOVE ur characterization of shouto (chews on my walls) he's so cheeky at times yet still a dumbass who's still learning to socialize and he's so funny when he doesn't mean to be! also they way that u show how he feels safe with izumi with how he falls asleep on her on the train always made me melt. WAAAAAAAAAA

the way u write their banter feels so natural for siblings yet still showcases their underlying feelings and apprehension for each other in a way that always has me excited to see their next interaction yet at the same time dreading what angst shall befall them next (falls to my knees inside a walmart) i spent like 3 days reading non stop and my eyes r lowkey straining to see my phone screen from all the crying i did + staying up til like 4am but it was so worth it.

i'm excited to see how their reunion with touya will go in WHD and i am even more ready to witness endeavor's suffering ❤️ even if he's trying to atone i'm glad that u stuck with the idea that izumi doesn't have to forgive him because she doesn't! u never have to forgive the people that hurt u. also the fact that touya returned izumi's medal to her and it resolved some of her insecurities on being a hero really solidified my love for the way u write the todorokis

BITW also made me mf BAWL the relationship between toga and twice and izumi was so so so good and it's easily one of my favorite league fics!! it humanizes them so well and really sends forth the message of the world within bnha not being as black and white as many fans may think. toga and izumi being bts fans of all things was so cute and it rlly shows just how human they are with their own hobbies and interests outside of being a hero or a villain. showcasing all might's failures as a mentor was also greatly appreciated and i love the subplots with all the students. u ignited a newfound love for momo within me and got me thinking abt uraraka with more respect than i have before. girlbosses everywhere so true !!!

Hello!! I've likely reread this a million times by now, so thank you for sending it. WHD does take me a bit longer to write these days because I want to pay particular attention to how Touya's story plays out and often that ends up holding a lot more weight than I expect, but it always lightens the load when I remember how much it means to my readers.

Having a lot of siblings actually makes the Todorokis so easy to write--it's often the other characters that Izumi interacts with that are harder to write. Shouto particularly is my favorite and comes to me a lot easier than people like Bakugou and Midoriya.

Tbh, BITW is something I wish I had done as a long-fix rather than a short one-shot, but I was and am happy with how it turned out, so thank you go enjoying it and letting me know how much you enjoyed it.

Here's to lots more chapters and more of Izumi in the future. I hope you had fun playing Stardew and I hope that your eyes have recovered from the strain (thank you for being so dedicated and going through that long journey!) ❤️❤️

Just watched the two other BNHA movies and I absolutely loved them.

I enjoyed the 2nd movie and how everyone got to shine in it, especially when they booby-trapped that tiny island like they were in a Home Alone movie and its the one that felt the most canon to me. The only bad thing I could say about it is that the villain in it just felt like a discount AFO and the final fight was kinda corny knowing everything that happened will be erased by the end of the movie, but I did read a post you made about how OFA should have fully went to Bakugou for real, but then he decides to give it back because he doesn't want to rely on it to be the best and that would have been a far better ending imo.

With that said, I just finished the 3rd movie a couple of minutes ago and it was hands-down my favorite so far and I'm very surprised you didn't like it at all? Personally I really appreciate how they switched it up and did something completely different from the usual "the class is on a trip and they suddenly got attacked by villains!" Leaving Japan for once was fun, as well as seeing Izuku and Rody on a road-trip while running from the police, Rody especially was such a loveable character and I really enjoyed his relationship with Deku, its shame we would probably not see him again (controversial opinion but he felt more like a real-life friend than any of Izuku's other friends)

The only criticism I have is that the animation was wonky in certain points and the Humarise organization was lowkey wasted on this movie, the idea of the Quikless minority rebelling in the BNHA was interesting, but they REALLY half-assed it, especially in the context of Deku's being Quirkless himself up until recently (but then again its just a 90 minutes movie not an actual 15-episodes arc in the show) is that why you didn't like it or is there another reason? Because for me its 3rd >= 2nd >>>>>>>1st in term of the movies.

I'm so glad you liked the movies! I'm very grouchy in my opinion of movie 3 so I'm sorry if that colored your expectations going in but seriously, I wish I'd like it more!

Movie 1 is incredibly special to me. It's a very simple story of friendship and legacy. David adores All Might and wants to save him and he goes to so much trouble, gets people hurt, trying to do so, But he doesn't realize that the reason Toshi came to him was to show him that the future didn't lie with him but with Izuku and his friends. Things change, things end and its especially interesting when we compare how David reacted to All Might's impending retirement to Nighteye. That shot of Young Might turning into Izuku... I teared up so hard in the theaters. The criminal hijacking was all well and good and seeing the kids in fancy dress was fun, but I loved the simple message it told.

Movie 2 I also really enjoyed, the kids having a whole island to protect themselves I thought was a great exercise and their home alone shenanigans was fun. It didn't have the emotional gut punch of movie 1 to me but I did like the Bakugou and Izuku OFA moment and I 10000% agree with you it should have gone like you said. Much more impact that way.

Movie 3 was just a disorganized mess in my opinion. We were all hyped up for this World Hero Mission and then?? We see none of that and Izuku is on the run with this random dude most of the movie. I liked Rody! Genuinely but what did he or his story contribute? I really got mad when it was about the quirkless minority rebelling and, not only is Izuku's story worth nothing but the guy uses some bomb ass quirk to fight them. It just devolved into flashy animation and fighting. When did Izuku start using his fists instead of his head. I walked out the theater like, what the point? What was the movie trying to tell me? Movie 1 was about letting go and creating a legacy, movie 2 about cooperation, movie 3??? oh the quirkless are bad because they're planting bombs?? I guess some international politics we just never really followed up on or explained??

Like I said, I'm always glad when people found joy in things I did not because it still means their pleasure. But wow movie 3 did nothing for me but leave me irritated bc it had a good basis, good thoughts but completely fell apart by act 2. I'll watch movie 1 any day of the week.

Previously on BnHA: Flashback!Rat Principal was all “please tell Midoriya that I spent a concerningly small amount of money upgrading U.A. into a wacky physics-defying funtime grid so as to make the final battle much more confusing for everyone.” Present Day!Mic (or Present!Mic, if you will) and Jeanist were all “if only somebody could deescalate this dangerously unhinged mob, we’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas.” Ochako was all “LISTEN UP PEOPLE.” The mob was all, “god??” Ochako was all, “NO, IT’S ME, OCHAKO. I’M REALLY HIGH UP ON THIS BUILDING AND THE VISIBILITY IS LOW DUE TO THE RAIN, SO I CAN SEE HOW YOU MIGHT MAKE THAT MISTAKE. ANYWAYS, DEKU WAS OUT THERE RISKING HIS LIFE FOR YOU CLOWNS EVEN THOUGH HE’S JUST A KID, SO I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD ALL REMEMBER HOW TO BE DECENT HUMAN BEINGS, THANKS.” Let’s see if her Big Scolding Energy has any impact.

Today on BnHA: Horikoshi is all “so I have this speech planned out, and it’s really good, but it also only really needs about 6 to 8 pages, but I’m gonna see if I can stretch it out to 17 pages so I can kill time before we get to the next volume cliffhanger two weeks from now.” Anyway but it really is a good speech though. There are feels, and tears, and more talk about how Deku is so in need of a shower that just looking at him requires a tetanus booster, and more feels, and more tears, and bonus ship drama, and an iconic callback to the very first chapter which reframes the entire series in a new context in a totally epic and moving way, and it’s all very good. Except that Horikoshi is determined to never let anyone actually give this kid a hug. Who hurt you, dude.

omg we are opening on a callback to chapter 212, a.k.a. the chapter with by far the cutest flashback that doesn’t involve any baby Todorokis

baby Ochako is lethally cute. she could literally murder someone with her cuteness. I just want to scoop her up and play airplane with her until she accidentally activates her quirk while we’re spinning around and we both helicopter up into the air never to be seen again

“a child’s insistence” huh well that’s all well and good, but I sure hope this doesn’t mean we’re going to drag out the whole “sternly lecture the obnoxious citizens” plot for another whole chapter. no offense but I think we’re good

so page 2 is just continuing the whole happy/worried faces monologue, which of course is very important to Ochako’s character as it provides the context for why “who protects the heroes” ended up becoming her thing. and this is making me think we actually are in for a whole second chapter of this sob. when will my boy finally get to rest

I’ve said this before, but this new generation of heroes is shaping up to be much more transparent than the All Might generation. they’re basically abandoning the almighty, untouchable Superman “heroes as gods” concept in favor of the more nuanced “heroes as people” concept instead. and that’s a good thing. seeing their heroes as humans, with human limitations and weaknesses and flaws, will hopefully not only lead to more scrutiny and accountability, but also more awareness of how hard some of them are working and how much they’re sacrificing. that’s something All Might never quite grasped back at the start of the series -- that the weak, vulnerable, injured him could be just as inspiring as the mighty, invincible him -- perhaps even more so. there’s a power in seeing otherwise ordinary people show extraordinary bravery and compassion. it inspires others to try and do the same

horror movies

it’s either a really good horror movie that you guys end up watching, or a really bad one to the point it’s almost like a comedy

but bakugou is a lot more strict with picking the movie, just because he doesn’t like his ‘time to be wasted’

but he actually really likes laughing his ass off at dumb main characters, and the girls that trip and don’t even bother to picking themselves up.

mina usually likes clinging to you during jumpscares, and it’s almost like a death grip it’s almost like she anticipates a jumpscare, because moments before— she’s already grabbing at you. it’s almost as if she has a six sense or something

sero’s pretty chill, and he’ll say “see! there’s no jumpscare.” only to get jumpscared seconds later 💀 it’s funny that it happens every single time

kaminari is that person that jumps at every loud sound, grasping on either kirishima or bakugou but bakugou will shove him off

kirishima’s the first one to recover from jumpscares surprisingly, only beating bakugou by a few seconds. (because bakugou tends to freeze when he’s scared, and it takes him a few realizations for him to return back to normal)

plot twists in horror movies are a hit or miss if i must say. if done correctly— y’all will be like 😦 for the remainder of the movie. but if it’s a bad plot twist, y’all will just turn off the tv

whenever that really random spice scene shows up in a horror movie, bakugou usually skips past it— yelling at the rest of you like “close your eyes or i’ll poke your eyeballs out!”

will you guys get paranoid after a horror movie? most likely. doesn’t even matter if the ending was anticlimatic. you guys will stay up just thinking about the movie, trying your best to get some rest.

you and kiri alway hide behind bakugou during scary moments, and he just scoffs— telling the both of you that the movie “isn’t even that scary”

road trips

you and the bakusquad wanted to go see some nature, but bakugou thought it was a stupid idea bc of the many possibilities of going missing in the forest or ending up dead

but don’t get me wrong, bakugou’s favorite thing to do is mountain climbing, so he really likes nature.

sero is the group’s driver, the second being you and bakugou. but let me explain why it’s sero lol

bakugou is a decent driver but— he’s quite an angry driver, and bakugou’s always yelling at other drivers in the road angrily and all of you chose life first

but if all of you can take bakugou’s angry driving style then.. bakugou’s going to be the groups driver. and it’s also because bakugou can drive for long periods of time

ok but during the trip, y’all were 🤏 this close to seeing the heavens JUST because of bakugou’s driving during a rather steep speed bump 🗿

kaminari is that bitch that always needs to pee every hour. i think sero’s like this too but he has more tolerance than kaminari i guess. KAMINARI IS ALWAYS SAYING SHIT LIKE

the night before, as you laid cuddled to his side, bakugou stared at the ceiling until a thought occurred to him

what if you hadn’t told him about wanting a dog because you weren’t sure urself? No but you never closed that tab

he didn’t want you to hold yourself back for his sake

you were always so selfless and thoughtful of him

he hoped that tomorrow and in the years ahead, he can show you just how much he appreciates you

it’s 5 am and bakugous slipping out of bed

he makes sure you’re warm before leaving the house, careful to not make any noise

he knocks on the neighbors door and they hand him the puppy in its cage

at home, bakugou takes out the box he’s pre-wrapped and places the puppy inside it

it starts to squirm a little, now that it’s finally out of its cage but bakugou holds it still, petting its head to calm it down

the puppy was quick to obey and he let out a sigh of relief

carrying the large box to your room, bakugou froze when he saw you come out

“huh? what’s that, babe?” You say, sleepily

“just go back to sleep y/n” he said, placing the box down

he ushered you back in bed and you tried to pull him down with you, whining when he protested

“I gotta do something real quick, ok? I’ll be back”

thanking the heavens that you were facing the opposite direction as the door, he slipped the box right next to it

there was still a couple of hours until you would agree to start the day so bakugou joined you under the covers and pulled you close

he must’ve been exhausted because when he woke up, you had a little blob laying on your chest

“oh my god, katsuki!!” your face was split into a wide smile and the puppy was happily playing around with you

bakugou’s eyes widened and cursed out loud

“sorry babe, we were supposed to open it together. I must’ve overslept”

“Aww it’s ok katsu, I woke up to this little ball of sunshine here”

it must’ve jumped out of its box, he thought

“But how did you know that this was the exact one I wanted?” You asked

he shyly rubbed the back of his neck, “you had that tab open for ages”

the puppy continued to bounce in your arms and bakugou admired the smile on your face

leaning in for a kiss, he said, “happy anniversary baby”

you had gone to the adoption center just to look around while your boyfriend was at work

you really hadn’t meant to actually commit to it when you saw the most cutest puppy ever

it was even clinging on to you, surely it was perfect

and your boyfriend also seemed to really like dogs so you really just said why not?

it was a pretty big impulsive purchase but you knew he wouldn’t mind

it was for the both of you after all

bringing it home, you couldn’t wait to think of names with your boyfriend, knowing that he’d come up with really creative ones

kirishima still had a couple hours left of work so you decided to pass the time with your new friend

you set up its bed and its food, all while having the puppy follow you around the house

you were in the closet at the back of the house, rummaging for a blanket when you noticed that your puppy wasn’t right behind you any more

not having a name for it yet, you weren’t sure how to call out for it

so you decided to just look for it yourself

it wasn’t until you were closer to the front of the house did you hear the sound of your boyfriend laughing

“eiji?”

he was holding the puppy in his arms and it was licking his face, causing him to laugh in response

it was such a cute sight, you had to snap a picture

“what’s his name, hun?” He asked

“haven’t decided yet. I was hoping you’d have some good ones”

“How long have you been planning this? There’s no special occasion is there?”

“I went to the center for fun and I decided to just get it”

“Good choice” he laughed

“so you got any names?”

he set the puppy down and it whined, looking up at him

“I was thinking d/n?”

it was perfect

calling its new name out, the puppy immediately turned its attention to you, leaping into your arms

“aww” your boyfriend said, before wrapping you both into a hug and picking you up

but after seeing how much you interact with dogs and gush about them, he decided to surprise you with one

it was shinsou’s day off but you still had to work so he took that chance to visit the adoption center

before when he had asked you what kind of dog you wanted if you were to ever get one, you told him your favorite types, including gender

luck seemed to be on his side because he found the exact same breed you liked

it was a much younger one though, only being a few months old

excited to see your reaction, shinsou signed the papers and brought your new puppy home

he also figured that since you seemed to be stressed and overworking yourself, this was the perfect present

there was no special occasion but hey, couldn’t he just spoil his s/o?

by the time you came home, the puppy was asleep but away from your line of vision

your boyfriend kissed you hello and took your belongings

he could see how exhausted you were and part of him was glad that the puppy wasn’t jumping around right now

hopefully you could play with it when you had more energy

“you hungry y/n?”

“no just come here please” you made grabby hands at him and he laid on the couch with you

he ran his fingers through your hair and gave you a small peck on both your eyelids

you were about to fall asleep when you heard small, high pitched barks and the sound of paws on a hardwood floor

he was open to anything really

so you went straight to the adoption center the next day and you decided to find one you’d like too because your boyfriend was ok with any kind

after hours of playing with each dog, you settled on a small puppy

it had been sleeping on your lap the entire time until you brought out snacks the staff gave

it woke up immediately and obeyed when you told it to “sit” and “jump”

driving back home, you were satisfied and picked up a cake for the celebration tomorrow

you decided to just give the puppy early and have the cake on his actual birthday

when sero came home, he called out for you, receiving no response

thinking that you must be busy, he went into the kitchen to feed his stomach

turning around with a sandwich in his mouth, you popped up from the corner and held the puppy up, a cute ribbon tied to its neck

he looked at you and dropped his sandwich, his face lighting up

he pumped his fists in the air and yelled “hell yea we got a puppy!”

you let him scoop it from your arms and it’s snuggling up to him immediately, licking the remainders of his sandwich from the corner of his mouth

What kind of Valentine would they be?

A/N: Happy Valentines Day y’all! this is the way my lonely ass celebrates valentines.

i think he wouldn’t know exactly how big valentines day is. he knows couples celebrate it, but he’s had barely any exposure to functional couples considering how his parents are.

he won’t even know it’s valentine’s day when he wakes up in the morning. once he realizes it is, he’ll just go and find you, sneak his arms around your waist and whisper “happy valentine’s day” in your ear.

but when he sees the effort that you put in for him, he’ll find out how unprepared he was. honestly, he’ll just be worried that you thought he doesn’t care about you.

from the next year, he’ll be much more prepared.

his gifts will be very personal. he might pick an item that reminds him of the time he asked you out. he might treat you to the same meal you had on your first date.

i lowkey think that one of the valentine’s days he’ll take you to his mom and just let you two interact. and that is the most intimate thing he can do, welcome you to peek at his broken past.

Bakugo Katsuki

he doesn’t care about the holiday, doesn’t see the appeal. lowkey thinks he’s too cool for it.

but he celebrates it with you anyways because this man will do anything for you.

he doesn’t realize but he actually ends up putting in a lot of effort because he doesn’t half-ass anything, if he’s preparing a meal for you at home you better expect it to be delicious. if he’s booking a restaurant then it’s going to be the best one he knows.

i don’t think he’s a person who will shower you with gifts. but i think for special occasions like valentine’s day and birthdays, he’ll give in and gift you something small, yet extremely thoughtful.

for some reason, his idea of romance seems quite traditional. for valentine’s day, you can expect a traditional gift like a pretty ring, or bracelet, or necklace. he’ll say something like “you better” when you say how much you love it.

but he was secretly watching your expression very carefully when you opened his gift.

at the start of the day he’ll pretend like he’s not bothered, but at some point during the day, he’ll pull you to the corner, kiss you hard and slur “happy valentine’s babe” against your lips.

Izuku Midoriya

he’s ready dawg. he got this. he’s knows exactly how big the day is, and is very willing to celebrate it with you.

he’s incredibly observant, and he’s going to use that to his advantage. 

in the morning when you wake up, he’ll just pull you back by your waist, flush against his chest, and pepper your neck and shoulder with kisses. “happy valentine’s day (name). i love you.”

he’ll insist you stay in bed and he’ll treat you to a breakfast in bed with your favorite food.

the rest of the day will be spent with him taking you to the neighborhood he grew up in. he’ll walk around with you, show you all his favorite spots, buy you snacks from his favorite places.

he’s grown up thinking that he’s worthless, no one’s interested in him, so him showing you his favorite things is a sign that he knows you care about him, and he accepts it. and it makes him happier than you can fathom.

your day together will probably end with you two making out in his room at his home.

That recent post you reblogged really sheds some light on what's happened to modern media/fandoms. Their argument, to paraphrase, is "media only writes kind women because they don't want to alienate men. I can't imagine the idea that some people actually want kindness rewarded and cruelty punished on principle, because I personally like mean and cruel people, so I think creators/other fans should worship them as well!" No wonder the ML fandom worships Chloe if morality is based only on "I like."

Is this about this post, anon? Because if it is I just don’t see your point.

The post was about how women tend to be stuck in a box where they have to be non-threatening as possible to the male audience and they end up falling flat because they don’t really have any flaws (or they aren’t well addressed at all). OP wasn’t saying that we should be apologists or anything, just that women should be better written (and, as someone who watches shounen, I agree). Women aren’t allowed to be mean or bitchy because they wouldn’t be a fan favorite. Can you imagine a girl with a personality and background like Bakugou’s in bnha being number one on popularity polls? I’m struggling to. It doesn’t have anything to do with the narrative rewarding cruelty for female characters.

The post was about shounen (and honestly, the only heroine that’s not constantly sexualized and is kinda bitchy and bossy and rude while maintaining their popularity that I can think of is Rukia, my beloved, from Bleach), but since I’m lowkey a ML blog, I’m gonna talk about cartoon exemples:

Helga Pataki from Hey Arnold is a staple for mean, rude, bitchy girls. She’s sympathetic and we understand her, even more after the “Helga on The Couch” episodes, but the narrative rarely excuses her actions. When she popularized a newspaper with fake news? She was punished for it. When she told Arnold off for helping the gang with their problems? She was punished for it. When she stole Arnold’s hat for her weird shrine? She was punished for it. The characters, while tolerating her meanness, don’t shy away from taking revenge when they can or dismissing Helga’s (sometimes) good advice for her attitude. She’s a flawed and deep character and the fans adore her because she’s well-written and compelling.

Gaz from Invader Zim isn’t as much of a main character in her show as Helga is in hers, but god, is she a fan favorite. She is mean and stoic and a bit sadistic and none of that detracts from her character. Sure, she’s from Invader Zim from all shows, being unusually mean is a given, but I do appreciate how for all the characters to soften up the grim dark atmosphere of the show (and still fitting very well in it), they didn’t go with making the girl a sweet character, they went with Gir, the robot dog. Even in Florpus, where her character is a little nicer, she’s still very mean and I like it! Sure, she’s never punished for being mean, but who actually is in Invader Zim? No double standards here, at least. (Also, Game Slave 2 slaps, one of the best episodes from the show).

Even Chloé herself! I like that she’s mean and spoiled and annoying, I like her arc in the show and her relationship with other people. The only thing I don’t like is people acting like she’s way less mean than she is or that her actions were not as serious as they were. Nobody cares if you like a mean character, just own it up and when people say “oh, but they are-” just answer with a “I know that, I don’t think they’re right, I just like the character”. I like Lila as a character too and you don’t see me going around defending her actions.

I can even apply the part of the post where they talk about the hype around characters with zero personality to the ML fandom while setting the girls aside. You-know-who barely has any well developed personality before season 4 and is praised for being a great character and superior love interest. Kagami, meanwhile, gets bashed for breathing. I do think that part of it relates to what I was talking about in the above: Kagami isn’t “bitchy” nor “mean”, but she’s blunt and her personality isn’t as accommodating as, say, Rose or Marinette. She’s a bit stoic and has a hard time connecting with people and comes off as rude at times, but is overall a wonderful girl and people still bash her for things like “Frozer” and “Oni-chan” (even though she was akumatized) and, more recently, “Lies”. Ask me if Luka got half that flack for “Wishmaker”.

(Plus, there were a lot of Félix apologists around even though he tried to assault our protagonist but it’s fine because “Chat Noir does it all the time” (?????) and “Félix is not that bad, he’s suffering too.” I’m not joking, the lengths people will go for white male characters while villainizing girls of color, like Alya and Kagami, still astounds me.)

So yeah, anon, I think you got the post’s message a little mixed up.

Augh! These kids.....these kids...I’m emo because I’ve been looking at the art that I commissioned from @enigmaticallyartful and it’s hurting my heart and getting me in my Hero feels. I’m gonna write some stuff on Heromari and then try to get back to the bigger chapter stuff I’m working on (Not Omori sorry y’all...I’ve been neglecting my BNHA fic and I got a super nice comment on it today, so I’m gonna try to put something out for that!!) Also this is such a side note, but I have to literally go back and read my stuff now because I don’t know what I’ve talked about on here before...lmaoooo this is it

Completely inspired this by @luvbunnz art...but let’s talk homecoming headcanons. I know your art was prom fits Ro, but let’s consider :O

So I’m going off of the really sad idea that Mari died in her sophomore year, so she would never be able to go to prom. She was able to go to Homecoming though, and she went both in her Freshman and Sophomore years with Hero. 

Homecoming is a little more lowkey compared to Prom, so she and Hero aren’t concerned about like looking polished and perfect. Sophomore Homecoming Mari dresses in one of her favorite more formal black dotted sundresses, a red bow standing out in her night dark hair. Hero wears complimentary black blazer over a white button up, his sleeved bunched at his elbows. He forgets to get her a corsage, and she doesn’t care. 

So much of their lives is dedicated to perfection, the greatest gift they can give each other is to let their love be imperfect. With one another they don’t need to be the best, they just need to be there. 

Still that doesn’t deny their natural charm and pretty looks. They are probably one of the best looking couples there that night, and the effortlessness of their beauty together is both heart warming and jealousy inspiring. 

They spend the entire night dancing. They jump around, they do silly stupid line dances, and they share a few perfect slow dances that are little more than just holding one another and swaying. By this point they’re both working so hard that they almost never see each other alone. Anytime they spend together is also spent with the kids, so having this night just for them...it’s exactly what they needed. 

Rather than getting picked up from school, Hero and Mari decide to walk back home. Mari’s sensible heels are killing her after hours of dancing, so Hero carries her home on his back. Her hair spills over his shoulder as she leans down to whisper and laugh in his ear, and he doesn’t know if he ever wants this night to end. He wonders if he could just pause the world here with his girl under the stars. 

Hero makes a detour and takes them to their secret spot in the park. They sit on the dock together under the full moon and the stars and chat together for hours. Months later after he loses her, Hero tries desperately to remember what they had spoken about, but it’s all gone. They end up falling asleep at the dock, and wake up just as the sun begins to rise in a panic. They sneak into Hero’s house through the back door and quickly make a fake bed on the couch that Mari definitely slept in

Kel covers for them and says that Hero and Mari came home late last night and fell asleep. Hero was definitely in bed when he got up this morning. Hero makes him homemade lunches for a month as a thank you. 

Okay so remember when I said that Hero only watches Grave of the Fireflies alone? I lied. He watched it with Mari.  

This was in their teen years. I HC that Hero was already having like normal teenage struggles before he lost Mari. He has a lot of pressure on him, and look being 15 sucks. 0/10 would not recommend. He’s stressed, tired, everything seems to make him angry, and he can’t understand why. There are times that Hero gets exceptionally unlike himself, so they have a system that the two of them started just after they both turned 15. 

They would send Kel to have a sleepover with Sunny and they would make a nest of blankets and pillows in front of the TV in Hero’s house. She would cook dinner instead of him (usually pasta because Mari was good at baking but not super skilled at cooking) and they would take it and eat in front of the TV. 

They don’t pull out their backpacks, they don’t mention homework or school or college prep. They don’t let themselves think about all the things pressing down on them.

They usually didn’t talk a lot on those nights actually, but listening to the music and watching the movie was usually able to bring down the walls Hero built up between them. Nights like this are bad, but they’re also good because they end with his head in her lap, her fingers in his hair, and the tension finally leaving his shoulders and spine. 

((After Mari dies memories of those nights sours. Hero feels sick and selfish. Mari had been hurting so badly and he hadn’t even noticed. She had taken so many nights soothing his ridiculous dramatics, and he hadn’t even seen she needed him just as badly. Grave of the Fireflies becomes his Mari movie, and that never changes.))

could you tell us about any of your shifting experiences? :0 (i'm so sorry if this has been asked already)

nothing to apologize ^^ i love getting asks (even tho it took me a while to answer, but that was for different reasons ^^)

now, i haven’t shifted very often yet (just a couple times actually), but i’ll be telling you some of my favorite stories/things that happened!!

but before that i’ll kinda explain what my dr is (all these stories are from the same dr (as that’s the only one i’ve shifted to yet) (technically i did shift into one other reality too the first time i shifted, but i wasn’t there for long so i don’t really have much to tell about that))

basically my dr is a combination of bnha, death note, black butler, yuri on ice and my cr! (it sounds chaotic ik, but the way i scripted it, it actually all fits pretty well together! i might make another post talking about my dr in detail later, we’ll see ^^) and yeah, some of the characters might be somewhat out of character compared to their source material in this reality (due to what i scripted) & in my dr i’m in a poly relationship with misa amane (death note) & katsuki bakugou (bnha)

so now on to the stories :3

one time my cr best friend, bakugou (bnha) and mello (death note) had a snowball fight during our school’s christmas party- it was honestly hilarious, but they knocked over the snowman i’d built with yaomomo (bnha) and my other cr best friend. later that same day tho, deku (bnha) and my cr cousin rebuilt our snowman tho- which rly surprised me cuz i didn’t know my cousin was even at the party lol- (in my cr she rarely attends parties, but apparently someone dragged her along to that one XD) (the rest of the party was fun too btw! and the food was so good omg!!)

btw!! misa (death note) loves making snow angels!!! that’s literally the cutest thing ever!! and one time shortly before new year’s eve in my dr, she asked me to take pics of her while she was making snow angels and they turned out so good and cute and omg- sidhjdbxkdjdkdj!!!

something that really surprised me about my dr is that one of my cr best friends is also a really close friend of yuuga aoyama there!! and i actually hadn’t known until my friend invited me to go shopping together and also invited aoyama (without telling me lmao)- but tbh it makes sense they have a lot of similarities!! and hanging out with them was literally so much fun!!

so this probably only happened bc i literally scripted that someone was going to find out that i’m a shifter (cuz i thought that might be fun lol- (which it actually was, i was right :P)), and yeah this is less of a story but more of a lil fun fact about my dr ig- so i hadn’t scripted who was gonna find out and i just had no idea before at all lol. but then one day at school during break, deku (bnha) comes up to me and like tells me that he has something to ask me, and i was like “oh what’s up :0” and he basically listed a few things about me that confused him (like the fact that i have 6 quirks, and that i’m immune to certain quirks lol-) and just like asked me about that! then i like told him that there’s a reason for that, but he might not believe it & he promised me that he would indeed believe me no matter what (he was rlly curious- it was kinda cute ajdjjsmmsjdkdbdk-)! and yeah in my dr the idea of shifting is vaguely well known, and so while he didn’t exactly know what it was, he had like heard of it before which made explaining it a lot easier- i didn’t tell him anything about my cr tho (not yet at least). but i asked him if he has a big secret too that he could tell me, so we’d be even (i was hoping he’d tell me about OfA), but he didn’t ;-;

this is also not quite a story but i want to mention how much i love hugging bakugou- that was literally one of the first things i did when i got there and i still love that memory so much ajdjdkdbjdjdjd-

and misa braided my hair a few times- ajdjjdbxkdjdkd that made me so soft like omg- [insert heart eyes]

ALSO- bakugou’s cooking!!! agdjbdkxhdkd it’s so good!!! if you ever shift go mha (or any reality he could be in), you have to try literally anything from him (if you like spicy food that is)!! like it’s so delicious it’s not even funny lol- (the way this is already the second time i’ve mentioned food- oop-)

i also scripted that L & light (death note) are actually friends in my dr!! and let me tell you- when they actually get along they are so mean to others akdjdkbdkdjdk- like not mean as in insults but like it’s just so obvious that they think of others as idiots- which like understandable but still- ajdjkshdjdjd- and fun fact: light is lowkey a teacher’s pet sometimes- and he gets along surprisingly well w iida- (stain hasn’t shown up yet in my dr, but i’m curious to see if their almost-friendship would change after that)

Quirk o.o hm. I don’t think I’d want a major quirk that could overthrow him. Maybe I could have a quirk that helps people? If I’m matched with a student, then I’d probably be in a lower class. But if you end up aging them up or matching me with a pro hero or something then I’d probably work on the sidelines with helping rescue civilians. A quirk that allows me to see through any smoke or debris (if a building fell and someone was trapped I’d be able to see and locate them quickly) IDK honestly I haven’t thought about it much, but if you can think of anything better, then go for it 😭.

I really love Italian food, and any East Asian food (Chinese, Korean, Japanese) I love it all. Uhhh I have a dog she’s 5 years old and I recently got another puppy, she’s only 2 months old 🥺. I love reading and writing. I mentioned it a little before, but I’d love to become a writer and editor in the future. I still have a long way before I’m completely confident in my writing though :”). OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH oh, okay! Actually I have no clue if that’s why other people ship them? It might be? It might also be that them being the last two out of the group made people consider the ship and then start actually enjoy the possibility of it? I don’t know! Personally SeroMina is one of the ships I’ve been shipping the longest (I’ve been on it since before starting to like kamijirou, actually!) and one of the only three ships in bnha I have a seriously hard time breaking up and shipping around (the other two being ochadeku and bakushima) so I’m reasonably sure my ending up liking them was an independent thought process and it wasn’t guided by shipping other things? But it’s been so long that I can’t really say why I first considered them as a possibility, so who knows, really! Might be, might not!

The reason why I’m still shipping it right now is that I find them highly compatible, that their interactions in canon give me life, and that I just find them extremely visually pleasing - I think I have a very specific way of shipping them? In my head? I have this story about them, or... an ideal way in which I like to think they might happen, and it makes me very happy and makes me feel very warm and it’s just, it’s ideal? To me, the possibility of Sero and Ashido ending up together would make for an ideal lovestory and relationship, it just gives me the fuzzies haha it’s like, you know, they’re very very good friends, and to me that’s the most solid base to start a relationship, and they’re comfortable with one another which is wonderful. They’re the same type of silly and extra and rowdy which is fun, and I’m very very stuck on the fact that when Ashido was talking about her future agency she just assumed Sero would be in it - she wants him in her future??? how cute is that!! he wasn’t the only one she mentioned so I’m not saying it’s “canon proof” or whatever, I just like that out of the squad the only one she assumed would be with her in the future is Sero, it’s soft I like it. And I like how she’s by canon called bright and shining and eyecatching and Sero’s by canon called plain, I like the possibilities in that, the feelings in that, but especially I like the idea of bright shining wonderful Ashido with her love for everything romantic and always in search of her own shining love story one day looking at Sero and realizing that she doesn’t want anyone else!! because he makes her laugh! he makes her happy! he makes her feel like she’s perfect the way she is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with her loud laugh and childish sense of humor and overly-bright fashion sense, and I love love love the idea of Sero thinking her completely out of his league and never thinking anything could ever happen between them but like, not in a sad pining sort of way? more in a “she’s ideal and I know she’s out of my league so I’m not putting any thought in it but she ideal”, only for Ashido!!! to confess!!!!!!! I just wanna thank everyone who is supporting this story 🥺I’ve had the idea for a while and knowing that there are people who genuinely enjoy what I’m writing just makes me so happy. “Okay, so since we’re all gonna go to Hell Week, we can prepare each other. Besides, they always do a group round, so we should for sure be each other’s group! We could practice until then and kill it. That would be iconic, I think,” Mina starts rambling as you sip on your favorite drink. After your awkward exchange with Shinsou, you quickly diverted your friend’s attention by bringing up the dinner you all were talking about earlier. It worked, and now you’re all crammed in a booth. You glance over at her, as she’s right next to you, but she’s too focused talking to Kaminari to notice your confused expression. “They always have certain songs that you need to pick from, how do you plan to ‘practice,’ Mina?”

“Don’t be a downer, (Y/n). Obviously, we can just sing a few songs together, all four of us, and then we can get a feel for how we sound together,” Mina explains, and you shrug. “Alright, I guess,” you say, taking another sip of your water and turning your attention from her to in front of you. You weren’t expecting to be met with Shinsou’s eyes staring directly into yours, though. You lowkey choke on your drink, luckily not having Mina or Kaminari notice, but Shinsou sure did. The smirk on his face proved it to you. Cheeky bastard. You quickly looked anywhere but in front of you, settling for the table. “(Y/n)? You okay?” Mina asks, genuine concern in her voice. Damn, you did look sad just... staring at the table didn’t you. “Yeah, I’m good. Just... thinking about the audition is all.”

“Okay but why did you look sad? You literally got a ticket?”

“Because I sang two emotionally draining songs that are going to be on television and broadcasted to the person they were about.”

“Wait, two songs? You sang two?” Kaminari asks, eyebrow raising. “Yeah, I sang an original and I guess they liked it, so they asked me to sing another,” you say, reverting back to your drink. “So, you were the other songwriter they were talking about,” Shinsou finally speaks, his eyes literally never having left your form the entire time he was sitting across from you. “Wait, what do you mean the other songwriter they were talking about?”

“Exactly what it sounds like, kitten,” he says, smirking at you before taking a sip from the drink he had sitting in front of him. You feel your face flush at the sudden new nickname, but you try to glare at him anyways. Meanwhile, Mina and Kaminari are gaping at the two of you because 1) you just blushed and 2) SHINSOU JUST CALLED YOU A PETNAME?!?!?!?! “Never call me that again,” you say, but Shinsou knows you liked it, your face gave it away. “Whatever you say, kit-”

“So ThEy MeNtIoNeD mE?” you cut him off, voice louder than you intended it to be. “Yeah, they did. Toshinori said he saw us as the top two. Easily,” he says, sipping his drink again. “Huh. I guess Aizawa was being serious when he told me I could be in the top two then,” you contemplate to yourself, only to be nearly pinned to the wall next to you by your overly-excited best friend. “Wait, WHAT?!”

“Mina, we’re in public. Stop screaming.”

“TOP TWO MATERIAL? AIZAWA?”

“I’ll talk to you about it if you stop screaming, people are starting to look at us funny,” you say, pushing her off of you. “Well fucking talk, (Y/n),” she says, lowering her voice. “Aizawa told me I was top two material.”

“And like I said, Toshinori said that he could see the two of us in the top two this year,” Shinsou says, and you hear a gargling noise from Denki. All three of you look over to see him with his mouth wide open and his eyes nearly popping out of his head. “Denki, dude, don’t forget to breathe… you’re forgetting to breathe again,” Shinsou says, harshly slapping him on his back. That did seem to snap him out of it, though, because immediately after he shouts, “THE JUDGES TOLD YOU GUYS YOU WERE TOP TWO, YOU GOT ALL FOUR OF THEM TO SAY YES, AND THHEY ALL LIKED YOUR ORIGINAL SONGS ENOUGH TO SEND YOU TO HELL WEEK?!”

You and Shinsou groan. You slam your head on the table in front of you and Shinsou covers his face with his hands. “We are in public,” you hear his muffled voice. “I literally don’t care right now! You guys realize that the ones they speculate to be in the top five are usually the ones who get there? Cause they’re seasoned professionals and they know what’s up? They usually wait til live shows to predict that kinda stuff and here they are at auditions saying it to you guys!”

“Denki, I’m sure it’s not that serious. I’m sure they’ll tell other people that they’re top whatever material too,” Shinsou says, shooting his friend an unamused look. You raise your head from the table with a sigh. “Yeah, I have to say I agree with Shinsou on this one. They probably only said that cause we both had the nerve to audition with original songs.” Shinsou nods at you, before you both take a drink at the same time. “Oh. My god. You’re both idiots,” Mina says, and you both snap your heads over to her, nearly spilling your drinks in the process. “Idiots who can’t see how talented they are, apparently. Don’t you guys understand that what happened to you two is amazing? That you’re just that talented to the judges?” Denki asks and you and Shinsou both shrug. “I guess we’ll see what they think at Hell Week. It’s when they eliminate to the Top 40 and then Top 20 with a live show without all the special stuff added onto it. I’m not one to have stage presence, so I’ll probably get cut,” Shinsou says, and you make a noise in agreement. “And I’m not the most attractive person, and I know that’s something they look for usually so I’ll be-”

“That’s false, you wouldn’t get cut for that you’re one of the prettiest people to ever be on UA Idol,” Shinsou says, his tone serious and his eyes burning into yours. You feel a blush coming on, but you just clear your throat and shake your head. “You don’t need to say that to be nice. Look, what I’m saying is anything, and I mean anything can happen,” you say, and Mina slams her fist on the table. “That’s why we need to practice together! I mean, come on. You all know just how stressful the group challenge is. It makes or breaks the people in Hell Week. We have to train ourselves.”

“I agree. Your apartment or ours?” Denki says, and you and Shinsou look at each other, then your roommates. “Hey we didn’t agree-”

“Shut up, Shinsou, the adults are talking,” Denki says, earning him a look that could kill from Shinsou. “If you don’t mind cats, we could go to me and (Y/n/n)’s apartment.”

“We don’t mind cats. Shinsou actually has one.”

“Perfect! Then it’s settled. After we’re done eating here, we’ll head back to our apartment. Hell Week starts in five days, after all. Let’s prepare for it.”

BnHA 6th Popularity Poll Reaction Post - Risky Spoiler-Dodging Edition

hey guys, so seeing as the results from the 6th popularity poll were leaked today, I figured I would do a separate reaction + analysis post this year, rather than piling it in as an extra on top of the chapter reaction post tomorrow. I figure this makes more sense anyway, since they’re really two completely different things. also this way I can write as much as I want lol.

also, just fyi, I am still completely unspoiled for chapter 293. and probably the smart thing to do to keep it that way would be to log off tumblr and hold off posting this until tomorrow, but I apparently have no impulse control today so oh well. anyway, so I’m hoping you guys will keep this spoiler-free if you don’t mind! as always, I would prefer to just jump right in completely unaware tomorrow like Troy returning to the study room with the pizza boxes lol.

okay so this first part is just going to be my predictions. fyi I am writing this part on Wednesday night, and then I’ll add on the results part on Thursday or Friday (ETA: Thursday, apparently, since I am impatient.)

okay so first of all, just as a refresher, this poll was open to Japanese voters from Aug 3 to Sep 30. meaning chapters 279 through 285. meanwhile last year’s poll took place around the tail end of the MVA arc. so between then and now we had Heroes Rising, the Endeavor Agency arc, and the War arc up to the part where the 1-A kids took on Gigantomachia in Gunga, and started battling Tomura in Jakku. so technically only a couple of arcs, but a LOT of stuff going down in them. oh and season 4 of the anime as well

so! firstly, I predict that my truculent africanized honeybee son will hold on to his crown at #1, coming off a year in which he did some internship-boosted soul searching, borrowed OFA in movie canon, and finished out the voting period as the my-body-moved-on-its-own character development MVP. like CALL ME CRAZY lol, but I’m pretty sure his title is safe. and then after him will be Deku and Shouto as usual

Endeavor also stands a decent chance of doing well given the internship arc and the final episode of season 4. which I’m sure will go down just swimmingly if that does happen lmao. especially if he somehow manages to rank higher than...

Dabi, which I don’t think he will btw, but you never know. anyways though, but I’m thinking Dabi’s going to have a stronger showing than in past years (in the last poll he only got 367 votes and was ranked 19th). mostly because of his fight in the Gunga mansion, and his cheekily censored name reveal to...

Hawks, who is also going to rank pretty high here, I think. might be he loses some points for killing off Twice, but his back was basically to the wall there. and he has always been very popular, and I think season 4 will also give him a boost, along with his heavy involvement in the first half of the War arc

Tomura was already in 6th place last year and I think he cracks the top 5 this year. he’s gotten exponentially more popular since the MVA arc, and got a boost in the last poll even though his flashback had only just barely happened, and he hadn’t finished Awakening yet and all that stuff. anyway, so he’s only gotten cooler and more tragic since then so I think he makes a big play here

Kirishima, Momo, Tokoyami, and Mina should also hopefully do well, since the poll opened right in the middle of all that Gigantomachia action, and Toko had just got done being an absolute badass and protecting his birb dad. I don’t think he’ll quite make it to the top ten, but he should

and last but not least, I’m hoping that Mirko will come out and take the polls by storm, although I have no clue how popular she is in Japan lol. she’s clearly Horikoshi’s favorite though. she SHOULD be everyone’s favorite, but I mean, we’ll see how it goes

-when bnha was first gaining traction on tumblr, it was all art of Tsuyu. I have no idea why. People were talking about the funky frog lesbian superhero anime. Maybe it was just the people I was following, maybe it was a general trend, but I LOVED her design!!! my fav color and frogs r super cute!!! And I already loved superhero media, so I was like. I’ll watch it. For Her. SO. FROPPY IS THE REASON I WATCHED/READ BNHA. I went in thinking she was the protag and I was sooo confused when Izuku was... tbh I still think it’d be more interesting if she was lmaooo aus where? ...seriously if anyone has good aus where this is the case send them LOL

-I don’t actually feel that bad abt what Shigaraki’s doing. I still feel bad for him. I’m this post. yes im an apologist. its not my fault hes sexy and has been running around shirtless. hes a lesbian icon like thor is. A professional hero and teacher for YEARS? Is that seriously just street training??? Can people acknowledge how amazing her combat skills and reflexes are??? More Toga appreciation when?? Also her backstory??? SO subversive and incredible, hate when people reduce her to just a ~typical anime yandere~ :/

-Tomura doing stuff with his hands/fingers to train his quirk!!! And to learn to be careful with it!! obv I’m a Big Fan of him playing piano to do this and video games are prob the canon answer, but like, guitar or any stringed instrument that requires Hands would work too. Or knitting/sewing? EMBROIDERING? ??? Please, let me give you the mental image of him knitting aggressively while mentally scheming, watching a twitch streamer or smth too while doing it. (Doing stuff with your hands is a great way to let your mind come up with creative stuff, that’s how I come up with writing/drawing ideas 70% of the time)

-Tomura actually PREFERS cutesty, relaxing games. I mean, he does fighting and bloody stuff irl, games are a way to relax...he’ll play shooters and gta type games with The Lads, but. on his own?? animal crossing. pokemon. kirby games. mario. zelda. BIG ZELDA FAN (not saying this bc I, personally, am biased, but,) slime rancher, stardew valley, funny simulator games... he really enjoys those :”) God forbid he has a kid bc they’re 100% getting named after a viddy game character unless someone can talk him out of it LOL. Toga and Tomura are that animal crossing /doom meme where she’d be asking for doom and him asking for animal crossing :”)

-Bits and pieces of Before are kinda stuck in Kurogiri’s brain, but like. mostly useless stuff the doctor didn’t care about removing. Like, types of clouds. So Tomura kinda picks up on stuff like that. He can just look at clouds and tell you what type they are because Kurogiri used to take him up to high places in the city and point them out to calm Tomura down from a panic attack when he was younger. He can tell you if the sky looks like it’ll rain with a 80% accuracy rate too. 

-Kurogiri left food out for kitties in the alley beside the bar. They weren’t allowed in for Health Reasons (it IS a bar with sanitation standards!!) And Tomura really wouldn’t stop it or encourage it either way so long as Kurogiri did his job, but occasionally would stand outside with Kurogiri and just watch the kitties from a distance. If any approached he’d go back in (lowkey afraid he’d hurt them by touching them :( ) They kinda kept that between them tho, bc they both Know AFO is a big bag of dicks and no fun

-people have pointed out how similar aizawa and tomura look. this was 100% the intention. tomura has a hatecrush on him. THIS IS SO FUNNY AND HORRIBLY AWKWARD FOR KUROGIRI LMAO

-Sako??? Mr. Dramatic?? Opera fan. Drama kid. Like, obviously, but. Really. He is. I feel like he can speak a dozen languages. I also feel like he used to be an overachiever but got too ambitious. He was def some kind of leader at one point of a diff Group or something that fell apart. I LOVE how creative he is with his quirk and the magician theme??? incredible. I don’t show him enough love but I Love Clowns :o)

-I don’t care what their canon heights are. Spinner and Dabi? short kings. My height hcs are (tallest to shortest) Kurogiri, Twice, Sako (who also has heels on his boots and a tall hat, keep in mind), Tomura, Magne (Tomura and Magne are about the same height imo) Toga, Spinner, Dabi. LISTEN. Dabi has short energy. Sorry. it’s true tho

-This is a semi-popular hc I think bc I KNOW I’ve seen it before, but Dabi having Terrible Vision and needing glasses is so so good. (seriously, with burns THAT close to his eyeballs, how could he not?) 

-he tries to be a tough loner coolguy. you’d think he’d smoke, but I hc his ‘weak constitution’ comes with weak lungs (esp from years of a flame quirk?? inhaling smoke over so much time is SO bad for you, most people who die in fires actually die of smoke inhalation...) so he’s got like, an inhaler, can’t smoke, actually gets carsick, needs glasses, overuses quirk to save friends constantly, likes napping, a little awkward and rude. Tomura put him in charge of the vanguard so he’s smart, and good with strategies too, like a nerd. this is the Dabi I wanna see, not the popular fandom version of him tbh also step on hawks one more time sir :”)

-I wish all the lov fics weren’t?? villain!deku like I said earlier, but also, chatfics? I have nothing against them but most of them are just a bombardment of Memes with NO PLOT!!! Listen. text/chatfics CAN have plot and be an interesting way to tell a story. I almost want to write one just to show what I mean...

Miraculous Quirk AU

Idk if someone has already done this but here we go!

So, I recently got into Boku no Hero Academia and I got to thinking, what if the Miraculous universe was set in the same one as Bnha?

So, those of us who watch Bnha know the drill, 80% of the population has superpowers, called “quirks.” The other 20% are “quirkless.” So here’s how it would play out in my brain.

Super duper long, oops, so under the cut!

Miraculous:

works pretty much the same way as canon

only doesn’t give you a suit the holder picks that themselves

they work similar to One For All does in Bnha

the power of the previous owner fuels the power of the miraculous and the previous user can still use the power, but a weakened version of it

Ladybug miraculous gives the holder the power to create things and heal

Black Cat miraculous gives the power to destroy things with a touch (at will)

And so on, pretty much like canon but with some modifications

Marinette

was born quirkless

when she was younger, kids (cough Chloe cough) would make fun of her for it

was insecure about it for a long time and then saw all of the ways that quirks could backfire and decided it wasn’t worth it and it no longer bothers her (much)

(seeing Chloe blind herself was funny tho, even if it was temporary)

still wants to be a fashion designer

wary of superheros because of all of that property damage and also some of them are lowkey sus.

parents still own a bakery

Sabine’s quirk is levitation. She can make items and people float with her  mind but they have to be things she can physically lift (it’s okay tho cause she’s smol but strong). The drawback is that she gets really bad headaches and if she uses it too much or for too long, she can get a migraine.

Tom has a smaller, tamer version of pyrokinesis. He can’t make his entire body burst into flame but he can make certain parts, like his hands. He has a naturally high resistance to extreme weathers as his body heat is unusally high (hugs from him during the summer are bittersweet b/c he’s a great hugger but it’s too damn HOT DAD GET OFF-). The drawback is that he can’t control the temperature of the flame so if he’s not careful or if he uses his quirk for too long, it’ll burn him. His arms have many burn scars, rip.

back to Marinette

Decided the Hero Life wasn’t for her but still supports her friends who want to do it

Until she met the Lucky Hero, Tikki, her favorite

After plot happens, Tikki gives her the source of her “quirk”, the miraculous, and entrusts Marinette to carry on her legacy

Lots of angsty turmoil before she accepts the miraculous and decided to become a hero.

Chooses to be named the Ladybug, same as canon

Her hero costume would be the same as canon AT FIRST since her decision to go to a hero school was last minute af but then the suit will go through modifications to better suit her power needs and fashion needs

Got through the entrance exam after training with Tikki and because she’s badass shh

Doesn’t get a crush on Adrien until later once they’re already friends (or at all really idk yet)

Adrien

was the result of a quirk marriage

was the *failed result of a quirk marriage

Instead of inheriting both quirks of his parents, like intended, they combined and created a new one

His quirk is Charm. His body releases an invisible pheromone that makes him seem more attractive or trustworthy, sometimes both, depending on the person who smells it. This makes the “victim” more susceptible to his suggestions, but it’s not a total brainwash, unlike his father, so they can still easily fight it off if they wanted to. The drawbacks are that he can’t really stop it so he has to be constantly covered so that he doesn’t accidentally charm everyone. Also, after a while, people can build up tolerance to him and it won’t work as strongly on them.

Gabriel has Brainwash, which is often seen as a villain’s quirk. Everyone is thankful the he decided on fashion as a career and not villainy (oh those poor naive souls). If he looks into your eyes, you are put in his control and won’t be able to fight it unless he lets you go or if you receive a blunt impact to the head. The drawbacks are that he can’t control it so anyone who he makes eye contact with gets brainwashed unless there’s an obstacle in the way i.e.: glasses

Emilie’s quirk is sleep gas. Her skin cells naturally produce a gas that can put people in a coma-like state. The drawbacks are, again, can’t turn it off and the person has to be within range. She also has to be constantly covered.

Adrien wanted to be a hero at first to spite his father

Gabriel always hated heroes and saw them as a nuisance.

So Adrien basically said “fuck you, I’m going to be the best hero because I can”

And somehow convinced his dad to enroll him in College Francois Dupont, a local hero school

(he acutally just charmed him cause his dad isn’t around him enough to build up immunity to his quirk but shh)

He gets in through recommendations and is put in the hero course

This version of Adrien was still childhood friends with Chloe (who is immune to him) and a lot more distrustful of people, especially if they’re nice since he has no way of know if they’re genuinely a nice person or if they just fell prey to his quirk

rip the sunshine boy he has no friends except Chloe for the first few weeks of class

Becomes friends with Nino after they got paired up in a fight simulation

The slowly gets more comfortable around people and becomes more open to friendships

Doesn’t get the Black Cat Miraculous until much, much later when the Squad gets caught up in a fight with villains and the Unlucky Hero, Plagg (Tikki’s partner and husband) decides to entrust him with it

Impulsive chaotic gremlin that gets threatened to be put on a leash made by Marinette 

Chloe

also the result of a quirk marriage, this one being successful

Her quirk is called Diamond. Her skin has an extra layer that acts very similarly to an actual diamond so she can reflect, refract, and disperse light. This layer can also harden at her will so that she can become a semi-indestructible prism. Her body’s reaction to light intensifies while in this state. The drawbacks are that while her body is hardened, she cannot move easily and her speed will be greatly reduced. Also, her skin is just very sparkly almost all of the time which makes it hard to hide from villains and to see when it’s sunny out. Usually wear large sunhats and sunglasses to try and reduce the shine

Her and Adrien bond by being products of a quirk marriage

also got in through recommendation and everyone thinks she bought her way in but actually tried very hard to earn her spot

is VERY protective over Adrien and will blind someone if they say anything she deems offensive

She and Marinette practically hate each other on a good day before they were forced to hang out since Adrien kept bringing Chloe along with him whenever the Squad would get into shenanigans

They developed a mutual agreement to be civil at one point and that slowly turned into friendship

Y’know the type of friends that insult each other and fight over every small thing but the second someone else tries to come for the other they won’t h e s i t a t e BITCH

yeah that’s them

anyways, I digress

Is surprisingly the sensible one of the group

is working towards becoming an underground hero

His quirk is sound amplification. He amplifies preexisting sound waves to what ever frequency is needed. Depending on the frequency, he can break through almost any object. The drawback is that sound waves can damage his hearing and can become temporarily deaf if he uses it too long or if he creates a frequency that’s too high for his body to handle. Has a chance of becoming permanently deaf if he overuses his quirk too many times

His suit comes with modifications to help with that so he should be fine he hopes

His guitar doubles as a weapon since he usually amplifies whatever chord he plays

Already has his provisional hero licence

is still really chill

is one of the first to figure out Marinette’s secret but is a good boi so he doesn’t tell

you’d think that being the oldest of the group he’d be the sensible one but nope

is accidentally the one that encourages shenanigans

Adrien’s best friend, just like canon

started out as general studies since he wasn’t sure if he was good enough to be a hero but a teacher saw his potential and was transferred into the hero course

His quirk is time reduction. He can slow time or even stop it completely if he concentrates very hard, allowing him to get one place to the next in literally no time at all. He used to think it was super speed because this but found out what it really was when he tried to save a cat from being run over and stopped time. He can also stop  only certain objects in time but that takes up more energy. The drawback is that if he overuses his quirk he starts to speed up his own time in order to compensate for the time he’s losing so he becomes very tired and after “3 hours” of his own time passed he will pass out from exhaustion. Also, he can only manipulate the time within his quirk’s range which can go up to about the size of an american football field (160 feet/49) meters.

is super insecure of his quirk because he thinks it’s not as cool as everyone else’s

they make sure to let him know that that’s bs and he’s very cool

feeds off of Adiren’s chaotic energy during simulations
