Ok so

I have this friend, they’re studying Toki Pona, and like to translate random songs and lines from things we like, etc, as practice.

And my current hyperfixation is Yakuza.

So I asked, for a translation of one of the ultimate meme lines of the series.

The result was far above and beyond what I expected, so (with permission ofc) I had to share.

"ten years in the joint made you a fucking pussy."

to translate into toki pona, it's good to break down parts of speech into their core essentials. this is toki pona in an essence. i would probably translate this as:

sina kama wawa ala tan ni: tenpo sike luka luka la, sina lon insa pi tomo awen.

to break this down into its parts... firstly, it's worth noting that compound sentences like this need to be separated in toki pona. this sentence is a bit complex so it's easier to use "tan ni" format. you'll see what that means below, but you'll notice the sentence got reversed slightly.

sina kama wawa ala tan ni: literally "you become not-strong because this:" tan ni introduces us to our reason. the "made you a fucking pussy" comes first here.

tenpo sike luka luka la, literally "circle-time five-five (context particle)" tenpo sike is one of many ways to say "year," literally "circle-time" as in the earth orbiting around the sun a full rotation. there is no word for ten, but the word for hand luka is often used to mean "five" since we have five fingers. so luka luka just means ten. la tells us that whatever comes after it is in context to what is before it. in the case of time, it's like saying "what is about to be expressed takes place in relevance to this time i specified."

sina lon insa pi tomo awen. literally "you are/were inside of (a/the) wait-house" jail is often expressed as tomo awen, a building of "holding," waiting or even protecting. a place of prolonged stay.

as we can see this sentence essentially gets swapped around into, for a rough back-translation, "you're not strong because, for ten years, you were in jail." here is your essay

After months of prep and hyping up i think I’m ready to introduce this little trouble maker

Please welcome Pluto ! My own version and design of a Donnie Krang baby

(Warning there will be some movie spoilers)

After infiltrating the Krang ship, Donnie and Mikey are tasked to take over the controls and to do that, Donnie fuses with the ship. However when Krang prime notices the turtles, he rips Donnie out of the ship, violently severing the link.

In my AU, because the link was cut by force, a part of Donnie was left behind with the ship, a copy of them. When the ship explodes, drebris is spread across NY, Krang technology and flesh everywhere ! However from the debris, a new creature starts to grow, half turtle, half Krang, birthing a new species, PLUTO !!! >:D

This little creature is one of my all time favorite designs i’ve made in the Rottmnt fandom, I’m very proud of it and hope to finally be able to draw more of this rascal !

I also want to thank @cupcakeslushie for giving me the extra push with Mayday, Pluto doesn’t need to just hang in my files anymore XD, Thank you !!
