Dumb idea: Hallmark AU

Big shot musician Kim going out to the country, gets stranded in some small town between tour dates, regretfully told he’ll be there for at least a week while Repairs Are Done (what repairs? Doesn’t matter! Point is he’s StrandedTM).

While there he runs into/is rescued by his childhood best friend Chay. Who, he’s surprised (and pleased) to see, has grown up very nicely. He’s taller than Kim now, filled out from hours of doing Hard Work (what kind of work? Idk!) every day. Kim might be very distracted by Chay’s shoulders and biceps bc he lives in tank tops, and is very happy to help haul all of Kim’s instruments around the place.

Over the course of the week they ~fall in love~ and Chay teaches Kim the joys of life outside of his career, without looming deadlines and the crushing expectations of his label. Kim serenades Chay with a song he writes in a single afternoon, bursting with inspiration For The First Time In So LongTM.

By the end of the week Kim desperately doesn’t want to leave. This has been the most carefree, happiest week of his life since he got famous. Somewhere along the line he lost the simple joy of creating and playing music, and Chay has reminded him what that feels like.

But He Has To Leave.

It’s heartbreaking, but Chay is understanding, he Can’t Ask Kim to Give Up His Career (but Kim Wishes He Would). Kim owes it to his fans to finish the tour. They part ways with a bittersweet goodbye kiss.

That night, Kim dreams about quitting his label and retiring to that small town and becoming a music teacher.

After the tour he comes back. He’s ready to Give It All Up for Chay, he just needs Chay to tell him he wants him, too. That there’s a place for him here.

Chay tells him that actually? He’s thinking about moving to Bangkok? He’s always wanted to chase his dream of music (Because Kim Inspired Him), and Kim is absolutely over the moon. This is the best possible outcome; he gets to keep his music and the boy he loves. He’s so excited to help Chay break into the music scene. Chay plays a few of the songs he wrote while Kim was finishing his tour and Kim probably cries.

Porsche thinks they’re both idiots. He can’t kick Chay out the door fast enough, and makes him swear to visit often. A few months later, Kinn ends up stranded in the same town (and oh no, Porsche is NOT doing this again. Watching kimchay’s mating rituals was painful enough.)

if you're assigning modern high school archetypes to the asoiaf characters and you arrive at "mean girl" for Sansa, then you've got it wrong. Sansa isn't the mean girl, she's the teacher's pet. Sansa would remind the teacher to give out homework. she'd stay after class to help the teacher clean because it earned her brownie points. she'd get perfect attendance. she'd tell other students to quiet down when the teacher is speaking. give her teachers gifts on teacher appreciation day. sometimes annoying, but sweet and ultimately well intended. Sansa gets to sit at the cool kids' table because she's pretty and rich and has great social skills, but really she's a total square lol
