Neve Gallus Analysis and Theory series [Part 3]
Minrathous is broken,” Aelia spat at me. “I know,” I said. “But you aren’t the one to fix it.”
The section under this contains spoilers from the game.
[part 1] [part 2]
Circle and square diamond - Solas, Neve and the future
Shapes, right. Very interesting. Let’s start with Solas and circle first.
Solas and/or circle seem to appear everywhere in the last few teasers: the 2018 teaser, the 2020 teaser, the 2022 cinematic trailer (which is later shown to be part of the cinematic prologue of Veilguard). The circle has been seen to be the sun, the moon, the symbol of the Evanuris (especially when it’s a circle with borders), even the Veil itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After finishing the character creation, Solas is shown with a circle in the background again, only this time, there is also a square diamond outside the circle. Quite the noticeable change from his usual circle.
Tumblr media
The scene shifts to Minrathous, and there you see another circle, which seems to be the moon behind the Archon’s Palace.
Tumblr media
Here, the circle and the square diamond appear, along with Neve Gallus, with the moon being inside the square diamond.
Tumblr media
So what’s with Neve and square diamond?
Frankly, her design has a lot of square diamonds: her fascinator (especially in this shot, is purposefully angled parallel to the outer square diamond), her earring, the back of her outfit. Even the top of her fascinator also has a circle inside a square diamond. And it’s not just Neve, Tevinter seems to have square diamonds everywhere, especially in its architecture. Just look at the Archon’s Palace.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what does this tell us (aside from the fact that I might be crazy)?
We know that the Evanuris can call upon Archdemon aka the Old Gods and for now there are two Old Gods left of seven: Razikale and Lusacan. We suspect that there are connections between these two factions somehow. This post is just to provide further proof that there is something here between the Evanuris and Tevinter (or the Old Gods) and maybe, maybe Solas and Neve will be involved in it, or at least take a crucial part in this.
Random tidbits from me to conclude this fever dream
Neve is going to be possessed by Razikale or Lusacan. I’m a bit on Razikale, because the High Priestess of Razikale gave birth to the First Archon of Tevinter Darinius, so if Neve being Radonis’ bastard is true, we are really going full circle Tevinter here.
The first quest is “The End of the Beginning” and the objective is “Find Neve Gallus” in Minrathous. How cool would it be if our final quest is “The Beginning of the End” and the objective is still “Find Neve Gallus” in Minrathous? From the release date trailer, we know that a battle (most likely the final one) will happen in Minrathous based on the fact that the Archon’s Palace is in the background here.
Tumblr media
The loading icon for Veilguard, if you don’t know, is made of circles, square and four-armed star
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that is the end of the series. I hope you enjoy these crazy posts!

Death seeking creator but with Furina? Imagine the sort of things she would feel when she first heard of an "impostor", and her being the only one who kills them once and never after because of like her looking at the body in 'pity' since they would be like her (pretending to be a good they are not)
Then she realizes she killed the actual creator and then they don't appear in Fontaine for a while and the guilt is eating away at her until she finds them again and after that she tries to accommodate for them and actually try and help!
Maybe she succeeds, maybe she doesn't, it's up to you :3
YOU ARE SO RIGHT ANON. This kind of thing would REALLY mess with Furina's head honestly. Like the pure pain she already feels from her own situation, I can see her have a slightly higher opinion of "imposters" solely because she can relate not having the choice of their fate. She never expresses this to anyone though, not even Neuvillette for her thinking he would be as strict about such topics as the other archons are.
Also yes she would only try to kill then once. But! Her method would be from a public execution, since Fontaine is about fair trials. As much as she would use her authority to speed the process, her biggest obstacle is actually Neuvillette!
This is because Neuvillette would already be aware about the truth because of his closeness with the elements of Teyvat. After all if the Sovereigns came before the Primordial One, then who came before them and created them? That's right, the Primordial Mother! Or the Sovereign Mother as they once called their creator, but it was changed over the centuries. Though I'll get into that another time.
Either way Neuvillette would do his absolute power to protect them. But it would be all for naught unfortunately as someone would sneak into the confinement area the creator was put in and killed them overnight.
That event would devastate Neuvillette, most likely causing him to quickly explain things to Furina. Though that could go in different ways if she listens to him or not, most likely yes because of her own situation.
Actually if I can ramble real quick, Fontaine is actually the nation that would have the least amount of deaths rate for our creator. And that's solely because of the long waiting periods Neuvillette and Furina set in place to keep anymore deaths within their nation. Though this does poorly due to those who kill from the shadows, or because of our broken creator themselves.
Honestly I know for a fact that Fontaine would have the most likelihood of a breakthrough for healing our creator's mental state. Especially since Neuvillette and Furina would be able to explain that them dying in custody was never the plan and they never had planned on letting them die in the first place (more so Neuvillette saying this, though he would vouch for Furina because most of Teyvat was ignorant).
But this wouldn't stop the angst at all during the healing process. Rain would be falling down constantly for practically years!
Though once the healing has been done I can guaranteed you have the entire nation of hydro being overprotective of the creator. They won't ever trust another nation and practically even forbid any non native Fontaine citizens near them.
They refuse to let any chance of events repeating once more. They've already gone against the Heavily Principles once, they're willing to go to war once again.

Hello there sagau brain rot like in many sagau versions reader/creator are often to soft to kind to my taste and then Idea comes to my head what if creator reader shows his cruler uncaring side to the pepole he truly hates or thinks deserve thier wrath like I can image that in place of raiden shogun the creator kills Singniora after begin defeated by traveler, azar the grand sage after whole begin in that day loop, and scaramouche when he had audacity to think that by begin inside giant mech he is now a God becose even if the creator is the kindest begin in tevyat.....his wrath has no bounds
@zardas75 welcome back to my very dead mailbox LOL—Let me see what I can come up with with your brainrot.
I don't fully get the Raiden Shogun vs Signora part, so I'm going to (unfortunately) not include that in this post.
The Creator Being Moody Fr (Jkjk—Unless? 👀)
(Disclaimer: Might Be OOC & Spoilers to the Genshin Impact Archon Quest Lore!)
Boy oh boy...where to begin...
To put it simply: It's Azar's Fault. Blame and point your fingers to the rusty old man, bois, we ain't forgiving him any time soon. It all started with him.
The moment you saw him in the Archon Quest, you knew, without even needing the slightest hint of evidence, that you did not like him and he was sus.
And when things escalated throughout the Archon Quest, you swore so loudly it shook the entire nation of Sumeru, if not all of Teyvat.
Here were Some of the Sumeru People's Reactions:
Cyno
He finished his confrontation with Azar and was waiting outside when you swore like your life depended on it. During his entire time being under your presence, Cyno was aware of how much you hated the guy—every moment you had gotten, you were seething and spouting insults from your mouth about Azar.
Even the General Mahamatra was stunned and shocked to the very core. He didn't you could and would do this.
And when you made it clear that your tantrum was yet to end, Cyno just braced himself for the fate of Sumeru to be in your hands.
"At least Azar is truly facing the wrathful judgement of the gods..." he mutters to himself, trying to convince himself of the situation at hand.
(Meanwhile You in the background: "YOU MF HOW DARE YOU. HOW DARE YOUUUU I WILL F—KING KILL YOU IF YOU CONTINUE THIS YOU SON OF A B—")
Scaramouche & Nahida
(Decided to add them both here since It's the False God Fight. This is kinda for the sake of convenience—)
Nahida never knew such intense emotion could ever erupt from Their High, Almighty Grace, and here you are, cursing and insulting Scaramouche. It wasn't as bad as Azar's, since you weren't throwing in any "I will have your head by morning" or anything similar threats, but it was still pretty intense.
Scaramouche, on the other hand, has heard you yelling at the old man Azar, and he already been yelled at for—quote on quote—"killing Teppei" (REST IN PEACE, TEPPEI 😭), so he knows what your wrath was like.
He did not like it then, and he still doesn't like it now. That much was a solid fact. Nevertheless, he has an image to uphold, especially in front of that Buer.
"Their Almighty Grace is really mad..." Nahida thought as they were confronting Scaramouche. (Cue you in the background still insulting Azar) "And it seems they won't be forgiving Azar anytime soon..."
"So, Their Grace still hasn't let go of their grudge against me..." Scaramouche mutters to himself once he was out of the view of Their Almighty Grace in his mecha. "Tch. Whatever...I'll make them see my true potential one I've squashed these insects."
Dehya
She knew you were explosive. She's seen it happen by the way you were cheering to beat Rahman's ass and "save the kid's grandpa!"
She knew you were pretty emotional on behalf of them. She's pretty happy and honored about that—that means Teyvat meant a lot to you.
What she was not expecting was to hear you curse and scream at Azar at the top of your lungs, as if that was the only enjoyment you were able to indulge yourself in.
You sounded murderous, and yet here you were, just yelling. Dehya would've shrugged it off, since she understood getting things out of your system was good, but she was not expecting the world to shake with your voice.
She looks over at Rahman. "You think Their Grace is handling this well?" "Probably not...Hard to say, Dehya." "Well, we'll just have to wait it out, then. They'll get it out of their system...eventually..."
Dehya was not expecting to wait until after beating the False God for it to be truly over. Gosh, that was scary...
Tighnari
He sensed that you didn't like Azar the moment you saw him, and frankly, he's pretty glad you don't trust him too. What he wasn't expecting was your explosive personality.
For all the stories about the Almighty Creator's kind and gentle nature, you were ANYTHING but. And you were proving it HARD.
Tighnari thought he heard it all when he got struck by lightning. Boy, was he wrong, because you just one-upped his expectations with the amount of cussing, cursing, threats, and insults you were hurtling in one go, streaming out of your mouth like you were running a marathon with your words.
So here he was, waiting in some form of dread in Pardis Dhyai, waiting if you were going to strike down the Akademiya with your godly might.
"I hope they don't accidentally blow up all of Sumeru..." he mutters to himself as he prays to all the archons that the nation wouldn't be turned into water or something.
Alhaitham
He should have taken account of your behaviour to the plan. You did play a crucial part. That was the sole mistake he overlooked.
Then again...it didn't seem like you were doing anything other than yelling at Azar...So perhaps the plan wouldn't change all that much.
He should keep in mind of how reactive you are, though. You...remind of his roommate sometimes...
"Hm. It seems Their Grace has yet to let Azar go of their scandal." He says it so calmly as he waits in Aaru Village. Candace stands a few feet away, looking unsure of what was going on—and probably praying that Their Almighty Grace won't strike down Sumeru in their anger against the rogue Grand Sage.
And let's not talk about the Traveler or Paimon. Those two are both used to it and still terrified. But they're okay with you dw 👍

Now that the Hydro dragon, Neuvillette, has become the new Archon of Fontaine, he has many things to worry about. Worries for his people, and his new role. He couldn't find time to check on Furina yet. So he falls you to his office. Being someone who already shared many tea parties with her, he humbly requests for you to go see her.
You don't have to be asked twice. Furina and you weren't close friends, yet.. you feel the need to be here for her. After her trial, where everyone has been against her, she couldn't actually be fine.
Of course, knowing no more of fontainians has dissolved makes her happy, but at what cost? You yourself have felt betrayed when the verdict fell upon her. She has never been the true Archon is the end. But she never deserved a death sentence.
Finding her still alive made a weight come off your shoulders, and yet... You felt a knot in your stomach. Why did you felt sorry for her at that time?
Enough questioning.
You are at her doorstep now. Hesitantly knocking, you wait for a potential answer. But no one answers. You could swear she would've been here. Why wasn't she? Panic runs through your veins. You shake your head. It isn't the time to think of the worst, isn't it?
You sigh, crossing your arms. Today has no performance, nor trials. So perhaps... She went to the Opera House? It wouldn't be surprising, but you wonder why would she be there. In any case, there is only one way to figure it out.
It's a long road until there, but you make it anyway. You'd do anything to know how she's doing. Despite not having much of a good.. friend. You haven't visited her or tried to check up on her before Neuvillette's request.
Perhaps she wouldn't even trust you.
Shaky steps, you make your way to the inside of the Opera House. You take in a deep breath before opening the doors leading to the stage. There she stands, oblivious to your presence.
Gracefully dancing alone, in the empty scene. No one to look at her, no one to say anything to her, no one to blame her. Humming to herself a soft, yet melancholic melody, a tune bringing up to the surface all the pain she has always felt.
You can't tear your eyes away from the sight of her. Carefully approaching, cautious to not make any sound. It's like watching a broken puppet putting on her last show. Despite the grace she has, some of her movements were... Hesitant. As if her mind is on fire.
Tripping on her feet, she falls on her hands and knees, quiet sobs filling the silent room. Her shoulders shruddering under each cries, her tears falling from her cheeks to crash onto the wooden stage. She is just a mess, overthinking everything she has done those past hundreds of years.
“What if things could've been different... Have I done my job right...„ she wonders. Such a painful sight for you to witness. You glance away, taking a few more steps. “Lady Furina...„
Her head snaps up, eyes filled with tears as she tries to crawl back. “What... What are you doing here?!„ she croaks out.
The once almighty and theatric Furina is now reduced to be a shadow of herself, in the exact same room where her people has left her. You sigh quietly, climbing onto the stage and kneel at her level.
“You don't need to stay alone, Lady Furina.„ you whisper softly. You know your words might be insignificant, especially considering her state, but if you could just... “No need to keep the lady... After all, now you all know..„
You felt pity for her. For everything that has happened. “You know.. No one hates you. You've never tried to bring bad things. You were just...„ “Lost...„ she mutters under her breath.
“Yeah.. as much as we were.„ you try to reach out and place a comforting hand on her shoulder, but she pushes it away. “I don't need anyone's pity.„ she growls out. Perhaps she doesn't need pity, but she clearly needs someone.
“I don't pity you. I truly want to be here for you.„ you smile, leaning your head closer to her, sitting right in front of her. “... Why?„ she inquires. “Well...„
You chuckle softly as she doesn't seem to remember anything. “Haven't you always listened to my issues back when we would have tea parties?„ you tilt your head on the side, keeping your gaze on her. “Well it-.. it was just a mere formality! Who, as a supposed Archon, wouldn't listen to one of her people's problems?„
You shake your head. You know there is more than that. But pressuring her right now isn't a good idea. Instead, you creep closer, until you could wrap your arm around her shoulder and let her rest her head against you.
“You do not have any reason to tell me what troubles your mind. Yet, I wish you are aware you can share anything to me. Your secrets are safe within those walls.„ you reassure her. It might not work, but at least she now knows she can lean on you if she needs.
Staying in that position for a little while, you gently rub her arm in a comforting way. She looks up at you, and suddenly asks what you feared.
“... Why didn't you came earlier?„ you have no true answers to that. You felt betrayed, lost, unsure. Everything and nothing flooded your mind at that right moment. “I'm sorry. I don't have any answer to give you. I'm to blame. But I do care for you. I never thought we would be friends from tea parties alone, but we can still be close. A confident, someone to share your burdens with. I'd love to be that person to you, if you want me to.„
She doesn't say anything more. She just processes your words in silence. And you don't mind it. If this could give her some peace of mind, you'll gladly stay this way.
“... I have never asked to carry such a burden.„ you snap your head towards her, unsure of what she means. You just wait for her to keep going.
“When she told me I just had to wait until an important and life changing trial, I... I never thought she was speaking of my own. I never felt so lost in my entire existence. My own people, going against me... I now know it was for the best, but...„
Her voice cracks. Tears sting in her eyes again, threatening to fall down. She is trying with all her might to not let them fall as she goes on.
“It hurts. It hurts like hell. I've lived through everything, and even now it still hurts. Will fontainians ever forgive me for lying to them? Does Neuvillette will forgive me? I've tried for so long to find a solution. We've lost so many people.„
You feel a sudden urge to shield her in your arms from all the cruelty. But it's too late, she already felt too much of it to ever forget. Yet it doesn't stop you from wrapping your arms around her petite frame, placing your chin on top of her head.
“I've tried. I've tried everything I could! I never wanted to see anyone dissolve! I spent days and nights searching for a solution, only for.. that...„ she lowers her head, hiding her tears as best as she could.
“Monsieur Neuvillette has never been upset. He is just busy. As for the people... I am sure they understand now. They can't be mad at someone who tried so hard to save them for all those years.„ you try to reassure her, but even yourself don't know how to do. How to comfort someone who had to lie for so long, to hide her true feelings and not even feel capable to share her burdens to the renowned traveler?
You feel helpless. Perhaps you aren't the one made for comforting her. But you want to try. To try no matter what. “You loved us. With all your heart. You have tried everything, at the cost of your own happiness, being eaten day by day.„
Your heart aches for her. You want to be there, to help her. To just... Let her be happy once again. She hides everything behind a facade. But every facade breaks at some point...
“Let me be the one for you. Let me show you how this world can bring many discoveries, how it can still give hopes and joy. Let me... Let me give you the happiness you're craving.„
She tilts her head up. Her eyes... It's empty. Filled with despair and pain. She's aching for love, to finally be happy and carefree. But there's also a tiny... Extremely tiny twinkle. A sparkle of hope igniting at your words. She wants to believe you, to trust you.
She wants to trust you. Give her reasons trust you. Give her reasons be happy.
She cracks a faint and weak smile to you, hesitantly reaching to take your hand in her. “... You promise to not leave me?„ she's scared. Terrified of another pain. But the passion in your eyes, the love your heart holds for her... It couldn't be faked.
“I promise. But you have to live on. Let your past behind. Don't let it haunt you...„ she doesn't know how to do that. She never knew. Placing a hand on her head to gently stroke her hair. “It's okay if you don't do it now. We will go step by step. At your own rhythm.„
You stand up, helping her stand as well, as you snake an arm around her waist to keep her close. “Now, let's go see Neuvillette. He is worried sick he hasn't seen you in days.„
Walking slowly to the aquabus, you sit together in silence. No words need to be spoken. Not when she sees how much love you want to give to her.
You arrive at the Palais Mermonia. Everyone is a little uneasy to see Furina after she excluded herself either in her home or the empty Opera House. Entering the Palais, you let her knock on Neuvillette's office's door. But no one answers.
She is about to grab your hand to tell you you should go, but instead, you knock again, clearing your throat. “Monsieur Neuvillette, it's me.„ recognising your voice, he tells you to enter, and so you do.
Furina hides behind your back, but Neuvillette could see her attire. He sighs in relief upon seeing her, smiling. “I am pleased to see you are doing okay, Lady Furina.„
She doesn't answer. “... Don't mind her silence. She took a while before talking to me. But I can assure you she'll be okay.„ you explain in a hurry, not wanting to offend the new Archon. “I never doubted it. She is in good hands with you. Why would I have asked you to see her otherwise?„
A weak smile spreads on your lips as you look behind to see Furina. You nudge against her, pushing her in front of his desk. “Eeep!„ her eyes widen. She's like an animal caught in a trap. She feels slightly betrayed that you make her face him, but it just makes him laugh.
“Well, I suppose she is indeed not talkative anymore...„ Neuvillette teases gently, his eyes gazing back to the papers. “I- I am talkative!„ you raise an eyebrow. Neither of you believe her words. But it just makes you laugh.
You walk closer to her, cupping her cheeks in your hands as your nose almost touch her. “It's okay. I'll show you how it feels to be loved. Let's just give us some time.„
You then proceed to walk away, under Neuvillette's gaze as he watches closely for Furina's reaction. Her cheeks flush bright red as she stares at your back before shouting.
“What do you mean give us some time?! There's no way I'd date someone like you!„ she hears you chuckle, and she knows she is now going to be teased.
“You're assuming things, ma très chère amie. I never said we would become a thing... Did I?„ you smirk, stopping in your track to watch her expression.
“You-! You implied it, imbécile!„ she runs to you, gently punching against your chest as she pouts. And then... You just lead her back home, promising her to come first thing tomorrow to go on a walk with her.
Perhaps you two will truly become something eventually.

♠️♥️ Lyney x Reader♥️♠️
Synopsis: Reader has some serious escapist tendencies, no friends anymore, and lives in a shell they are too afraid to crawl out of because they perceive reality as disgusting and mundane nowadays. What happens when a certain magician shows them that reality can still be beautiful as a way to thank them for the freedom they inadvertently granted him with?
!!SPOILERS FOR THE ARCHON QUEST!!
This is kinda long! I also made it at 1 AM so if there are any errors it's cuz of that ('□`) I personally have been going through some things and have been finding a lot of comfort in this goofy ol'magician. So sorry if this has some darkers tones than my usual stuff! I tried to keep reader as gender neutral as I could by not name dropping anyone and only referring to them as "You" variations. If there is a slip up please tell me!
You're hardwired to be an extrovert, but you exist in an environment and place that shuns you and forces you into a shell.
You've had your voice ripped from your throat one too many times and you've been silenced for nothing more than a mere giggle.
You were raised in an isolated world, away from humanity and it's harsh reality.
You didn't have any friends growing up except for the occasional child of a parent's friend who would visit.
Your siblings would hide away and your father would yell all the time. Your mother was always at work. Your friends were in your worlds of fiction and your books. The drawings you began to make to see these adventures you had with them.
You don't know how real people act or how to speak with them, treating everything like dialogue in a book.
Friends you had made at one point eventually coined you as toxic because of your inability to speak with any of them properly. Perhaps you should've tried harder. No, you definitely should have tried harder.
Perhaps they would still be here if you had made more drawings for them. Maybe if you had kept your opinions to yourself. Maybe if you had just smiled and nodded. Maybe they would still be here.
You became a shell. Hiding yourself away from any possible relationships. Keeping yourself away from anyone else you could possibly hurt with your ignorance. You had friends, it's not like you were lonely. The characters you read about and drew all the time were your friends.
Yet, they began to feel empty. You began to feel empty. Focusing all your time on honing your talent and living in a world of fiction reality became bland. Disgusting even. This only drove you to hide away from it even more.
You were lonely, craving friends and love you knew you couldn't let yourself have. It was like an addiction. You had it once and now you want it more. But nothing else ever hits like that first high does, right?
For the sake of everyone else around you, you cut them all off. You were stung once. Being shelter your whole life you didn't know how to handle it. You gave up on everything and everyone.
You felt hollow.
You met him after one of his shows.
The magician was so insistent you see his next one.
You supposed it couldn't hurt.
So you arrived at his next one.
And then the next.
And the next.
Until you began to see every show of his.
He would speak to you after each one, ask you how your day was. He would tell you about his.
Even after he was ousted as a member of the fatui you still saw his shows. You still spoke with him. It was as if you didn't even care.
Something about him and his magic, the reality bending of it all was beautiful. The most beautiful thing you had seen in ages.
It didn't feel real, yet it was. It was magnificent. He was magnificent.
Nothing could change that. Especially not something as silly as a title or affiliations.
As far as you were concerned, he was wonderful.
Even after he began to show you his true colours.
He had shown you something beautiful, and for that you could only appreciate every side of him.
Everything about him was addictive, every single part and side. Every nook and cranny. Both sides of the beautiful coin.
That's when you realised you became too attached.
You didn't want to ruin something so beautiful with your thorns, so you stopped attending his shows.
Stopped seeing him all together.
You couldn't tarnish something so glorious by hurting the person responsible for it. You couldn't hurt the majesty of it all. The majesty he showed you.
He noticed you stopped attending his shows immediately.
He sought after you for ages. Since you hardly leave you house only for food he didn't find you for a while.
However, once he did he wouldn't leave.
He followed you around, asking all about where you had been.
You wouldn't respond.
All though he wouldn't speak of it, you in a way provided him with a sense of comfort.
You didn't even question him once after he was revealed to be of the House of Hearth.
All though you loved him for being able to break reality, you weren't a monster. You never forced him to keep up his acts. You knew even someone as talented as he needs breaks.
So when he approached you, his hair unstyled and in plain wear with nothing more than a mere request of comforting silence or idle chatter not regarding his work you obliged.
He felt as if he could show both sides of himself to you, both sides of that coin. He could be as flashy or as monotonous as he wished. You granted him a sort of freedom.
He became very quickly attached to you.
When you stopped showing up to his performances he panicked.
Perhaps you were tired of his antics?
It took a long time, but you eventually did open up about why you stopped showing up.
He felt a side of him ache.
You were just about as alone in this world as he was, yet not at the same time.
He had his siblings to talk to, the blonde traveller to talk to. You seemed to have no one.
To learn his shows were a break from the world you viewed of rancid initially and how it brought you to love every part of him.
How ethereal he was to you.
And how you were afraid you would grow obsessive and toxic and how you didn't want that for him.
How he had been the closest thing you've had to a friend in years and how attached you had become.
How worried you were for him, how you adored him so much you were willing to cut yourself away if it meant keeping him safe from something potentially toxic. Even if it meant sacrificing your own happiness.
He wouldn't let you feel this way, no, he couldn't let you feel this way anymore.
He assured you that he would never run away, no matter what sides of yourself you were to show him. After all, you did the same for him.
He would understand and help you learn how to make friends, how to properly interact with others. Yet, he would want you to be the same around him.
In a way, he wanted to help you build a mask to wear like he does but still provide you with people you can be yourself around.
He thinks you are wonderful and misunderstood, yet he understands not all can see that. He wants to protect you like he does his siblings.
It's the only way he knows how to help, and you don't seem to mind either. He can't change everyone or anyone's opinion of you. Those are to each their own. But you can. And he can help you find a way to do that.
He doesn't want you to change who you are, but but doesn't want you to feel isolated and alone anymore either.
So a removable mask seems as if it's the best answer, no?
He also introduces you to his siblings and a blonde traveller along with their adventuring party. You meet a large amount of kind people including a young man who visually strikes quite a similar appearance to your friendly magician with a platinum blonde ponytail and bright crimson eyes and a young woman with a long, pink ponytail that fades to a blue and eyes that seem to have seen things beyond the scope of what a woman her age normally would have.
If you begin to feel nervous making so many new friends and with things changing so quickly, he doesn't hesitate to take things slower. He isn't afraid to make any adjustments for you.
He isn't afraid to return the feeling of freedom you blessed him with, so let him crack that shell of yours and help you spread your wings to soar out of that black abyss of isolation you've been drowning yourself in.

Yandere Genshin Men Brainrot
Im going fucking insane. Anyways have any of you guys played silly or furry wisher? It's like a cute and funny genshin ripoff, a little boring at times but I enjoy clicking away in slime valley. While playing though an idea popped into my brain, "what if the real genshin characters (that's hopelessly inlove with you) finds out the reason why you haven't played genshin in a while? Only to realize that you're playing a genshin meme game" And then these men go and hack the shit out of the game because monika vibes I love. Uh might update from time to time, thie will only include Zhongli and Neuvillette (they're literally the only well built 5 stars I have. How the fuck do we build genshin characters I'm so confused)
By the way check out the games (Silly Wisher, Furry Wisher). It's fun and amusing
Tumblr media
--ZHONGLI: His reaction to the realization of you playing an.. Odd ripoff(?) Game was one of pure amusement, the Geo archon couldn't blame you either, I mean, your poor little head couldn't handle the amount of unfinished and WAY too hard quests, he thought you were taking a break, but after a while (when you eventually and finally returned) he finds out pretty quickly from your small mumbles and comments that he oh so always adores, and out of pure curiosity decided to break out of the game codings and go through your apps, seeing two new odd games on your phone, Silly wisher and.. Furry.. Wisher..? Of course he broke in the new favorite games you had in your device, and cooing at the fact that you *still* main and favor him even in these joke games. He also quickly realized that he could easily possess the John Lee (he was a little offended by the name, but quickly laughed along when he heard you wheeze everytime you played the game) as well as Meatball. Quickly making both the characters extremely and suspiciously.. **Overpowered.**
"... Wait. Since when did Johnny do 100k damage??? Is this what happens if you level them up to level 15??? "
- YOU, mumble, absolutely amused and still giggling after listening to Dr. Snek's voiceline. Zhongli smiles, happy that you were enjoying your gameplay, he felt grateful, even though he was a little upset that you decided to play some ripoff game instead of properly spending time with him, Zhongli was happy that he didn't have to hide his lovestruck and flustered face, in the real game he always tried his best to mess with the camera so that it would never face him, he used to be able to hide his true emotions, but overtime it got harder. Extremely, harder (haha that's what she said). So it was a breath of fresh air on seeing you without you yourself seeing him, letting himself indulge in fantasies that he could never think of whenever you were around. Especially with the other game too. He could stare at you all the time, and you'd brush it off. Each time Meatball came around and jumped into the screen you'd coo, making him fall harder (down the stairs of) inlove with you. Each time you needed a copy of him for the whole "gene splicer" He'd come home willingly. Hell, there was a pull you did once that consisted of him and only him. He of course didn't question the fact that the dog version (that sounds so wrong) of him has alot kids. But he brushes it off. Replacing the thought of his genetics being merged is weird, into a fantasy where all those merged, genetically made kids were yours and his.
Congratulations, you gave this old man wattpad fantasies. Fucking hell, he wants to pull you into the game to do that. Though, that thought can and should wait. For now, he wants to watch and stare at you longer. *Just* a little longer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
--NEUVILETTE, the hydro dragon was always a man with (questionable) morals. But even he, the mascot of Justice has his limits. He was upset at the fact that you weren't as active as before, sure he sympathized with your overwhelmed situation (especially since it was he who activated half the quests), but that mean you can literally just leave like that. It wasn't his fault that his curiosity about the game you kept mumbling about made him break out of the game he's bounded in. What was his reaction to Hydropump Judge and Judgy Cat? Well, he laughed. Not because he was upset, but because he was *still* favored. He was still your main. Even if there was no differences in attacks when it came to grinding in slime valley. So he rewards you with extremely overpowered and multiple copies of him, it also doesn't help the fact that he could literally also just stare at you for hours and hours. And you still brush it off. You weren't weirded out. You weren't reporting to the game developers. Unlike when you felt uncomfortable when he forced the camera to not be able to move and freezing the option to switch through the characters. Just you and him. Eye to eye.
"Man I wished you had a voiceline, Neuvi. I mean, your banner description in this game is absolutely hilarious, but I genuinely want another funny audio. Aside fron Dr. Snek"
-YOU mumble as you kept spamming the attack button, watching your highscore be passed, you questioned why the character was able to hit high numbers, but you didn't question it, you never did. Brushing it off and thinking that it must be because he had the highest level out of everyone. Neuvillette smiles. Happy, satisfied and lovestruck at how calm and adorable you were. He loved your expressions, all of it. But he *adored* your relaxed state. Since it was rare to see you like this. He wished the Fontaine update and his banner came earlier when you joined the game.
...Maybe he should lower the world level himself? He wants to see you in this state more often. He wants to see you happy and carefree, proud that you finally finished your quests. He thought of this as he kept staring at you through Judgy cat. You had fallen asleep, not minding the fact that he was on screen a while ago. You didn't question it, since it was part of the games anyways. Seeing you in such a state makes him want to break out of your damn electronic and drag you with him. But that can wait, for now he should think of a way to make you play genshin more often.

𝐎𝐃𝐈 𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐌𝐎.
❝ loving you is the highest crime I'm willing to commit. ❞
𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | in which Scaramouche reveals you the reason why he hates you so much. But in the silence that comes after his hatred is revealed, and from the unspoken words that never leave his lips, would it be too selfish to ask for something more than this?
𝐂𝐖 / 𝐓𝐖 | GN!Reader x Scaramouche; angst with an open ending; mention of kidnapping; could be read as romantic or platonic; a "what if" route in the Fallacy of Love CYOA series; spoilers for the Sumeru Archon Quest; cursing; SAGAU themes (but not the creator thingy) more of this AU in my masterlist if you want to read them!
𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | Uhhh look, I have no idea if Scara could go out of his robot without breaking those stuff in his back? But let's pretend that he could for the sake of the plot xD also, tell me if you want a part 2 cause this one felt kind of a cliffhanger to me hahaha.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time that the game revealed his true colours, you knew that Scaramouche was not one for pleasantries. Perhaps he would if the situation calls for it, or if it means getting his way into tricking his enemies into lowering their guards down before he swiftly strikes them down. But in terms of normal conversations, he was like a person who wouldn't hesitate to call you 'fucker' or something insultingly similar.
He canonically called us 'suckers'. You inwardly snickered at the memory when you first heard it. It was kind of surreal, you know. Back then, you were hoping and praying to Hoyoverse that Scaramouche would be playable and don't let him end up like Signora. And now, he was almost playable!!
Only if you yourself weren't isekicked in Genshin Impact in the first place…then you'll be rejoicing in getting this angry purple guy with mommy issues into your party. And if you weren't thrown in Teyvat, you wouldn't also ended up in this…peculiar position.
"You…" Scaramouche's thunderous voice echoed in the vast chamber, his magnificent robot hovering behind him in a threatening manner. The artificial light that casts over the massive room gives highlight to his ethereal features, giving you time to admire his otherworldly—albeit angry—beauty. It was as if he was planning to skewer you alive with his sharp gaze if you wouldn't give him your full attention. "...You aren't afraid of me at all…"
You couldn't help but to feel shock at his surprisingly accurate observation. While it was true that you were kidnapped by the Sages and their minions, you almost immediately relaxed the moment you heard Scaramouche was the one who ordered it. After all, you knew his lore in-game at the very least and what will happen in the Archon Quest so it wouldn't really matter if he kidnapped you or what.
The Traveller and Nahida will come and defeat the false god, restore the Dendro Archon's reputation and power, save the Irminsul, and the Traveller was once again being crowned as a hero of a nation. That was written in the 3.2 version of the game.
Scaramouche is written as a villain who was destined to be defeated. But in the end, even he would probably be redeemed and would inevitably befriend the Traveller since he will become a playable character.
"...Duh, what are you talking about? Can't you see I'm shaking?" You felt a cold sweat on your back as Scaramouche inched closer to you. Though he was on the smaller side of the male characters, his charisma and appeal isn't lost to you. Especially now that he was glaring at you as if he was ready to plunge you away like what he did to the Traveller in the fighting cutscene.
"No, that's not it…" Scaramouche gritted his teeth, before he grabbed your collar and forcibly made you look straight into his burning eyes. "...that look in your eyes, that way you're looking at me right now…I despise it, I loathe it more than I despise the Traveller and everyone in this world!"
"Wha—?"
His hand on your collar tightens when you start to struggle under his hold. "Everything you told me, every expression you gave me…I remember it all. Everything was etched into my mind and I…I won't ever forgive you!"
“What in the name of the Archons are you talking about?” Even if there was a pit starting to form in your stomach, and even if he started to shake you out of sheer rage, you forced yourself to not waver under his maddening gaze.
You have no idea why he hates you so much, nor the sins you seemed to unknowingly commit to him. You were not like the Traveller who could go head to head with him and actually defeat him. You were not like the gods that abandoned him, nor the Harbinger that used him. In fact, you are a nobody to him. Nothing but an addicted gamer of Genshin Impact that was isekai’d in Teyvat for some cruel, unknown reason.
So, why does he hate you so much to the point that he ordered you to be kidnapped just to spit in your face how much he despises you?
“—Back then, when I invaded your mind, you confidently told me that everything I did would be futile and pointless, so it's best if I gave up my plans to save myself of the pain," intense anger bled through his tone, the venom on his voice made you tremble inside.
You remember that. It was during the part where the Traveller touched Haypasia and Scaramouche connected into their mind. But to your surprise, you were also connected to him. Although everything played out just like what happened in the Archon Quest, you still tried your best to convince Scaramouche to stop whatever he was doing—just like the Traveller.
You said it out of pure concern for him. As much as you want everything to play out what it was meant to be, a small part of yourself didn't want to see him suffer with your own eyes when Nahida and Traveller defeat him and take the Gnosis that he treasures so much from him.
You don't want to see him so miserable and lifeless as if his very soul had been ripped apart from him. You especially don't want to see him plummet down from his 'godhood' with no one to catch him as he falls—just like a discarded puppet that he so believed he was.
Still, you don't understand his spiteful words towards you.
"—but now, I understand." There was a sudden calm in his voice that made you slightly nervous, like a brewing storm ready to swept you away. With a harsh tug of your collar, he leaned forward until his face was mere inches away from yours. You couls feel his ragged breathing, his gritted teeth, and his anger. "...you have no right to judge me, mortal. You have no goddamn right to judge people like that!"
You felt as if Scaramouche threw a bucket of cold water into you.
"I…" Judge you? You wanted to say, but all you've managed was to look at him with wide, horrified eyes as realisation slowly dawns on you.
Genshin Impact is a video game with a strong plot and fictional story, played by millions of people across the world. Scaramouche is one of the villains, the antagonists, who has done nothing good to the main character. He was someone who was just a mere supporting character in order to make the plot interesting, someone who, just by existing, is a catalyst to the plot of Sumeru Archon Quest, who had a sad backstory in order to grab the heartstrings of the players.
A cash grab for the simps, to cruelly put it.
Scaramouche could never win this battle because that was how this world was set. He could never have the Gnosis because he was written for something much different.
No matter how hard he tries, no matter how much he struggles, he will only just be hurting himself because his actions are futile for the future had long since written.
The villain role that was given to him is fixed and cannot be changed.
"You were looking at me, thinking that my actions are useless, that I would never become a God, that I will become even less than what my creator thought of me when she abandoned me!" Scaramouche shouted at you and with so much vigour, he finally let go of our collar. Your knees gave out and you were left kneeling on the ground with a daze expression. "—when you were looking at me, gazing at me with those sympathetic eyes as if I'm someone who challenges the absolute impossible!"
No, its…its not like that.
But you felt sympathetic and empathetic at Scaramouche because just like you, he had no chance of winning this battle. He was not the main character. He was a villain, a supporting role, like yourself.
This is a world inside a sick game, where each playable character was moving and making choices based on what was programmed of them. They have no control of their choices because that's how the game's flow works.
But all this time, maybe unconsciously, you were seeing—judging—everyone you met here because you knew they were not real. They were programmed characters made to entertain the gamers.
But Scaramouche…
The Balladeer was so different as he himself shattered your little world. His blazing purple eyes even bluer than what you expect.
And he looked so real. So human-like and yet god-like at the same time.
"—I will become a god," he said with finality, so sure of himself that you almost believe him. He turned his back on you and walked towards the giant robot hovering in the distance, the elegant flutter of his sleeves was so real. "—And I do not care if it will be useless. Because unlike you who easily give up, I make my own decisions and I will forge my own future the way I want it to."
As you listlessly watched the Traveller and Nahida slowly but surely defeat Scaramouche's god-like form, watching the familiar battle scene of the Shouki no Kami unfold before your eyes just like you see back in the screen of your device, for the first time since you arrived in Teyvat, you realised that perhaps, despite his artificial origins, Scaramouche was the most human of them all.
...One that you have no right to judge so rashly as he continued to struggle and fight under the harsh thumb of his cruel fate.

𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | I had this brainrot a lot because I know that a lot of us must've thought along the lines of 'i can't wait to beat up scara' or something along those lines lmao. Ik cause i'm the same LOL. But what if this behaviour had bleed into you when you were isekai'd? Like ofc they are all video game characters, they are programmed and coded to act like what the script told them to, but I felt like Scaramouche fit the trope that wouldn't just give up easily even if the 'ending was already decided' so that's why he hated the reader because he thought that they were judging his actions as useless and futile, even if the sentiment comes from good conscience in our part! I just hope I manage to deliver the feelings well because im not really good at describing stuff 🤡🤡💀

Hey Pencil, can I ask you what you think of Neuvilette's character after the end of the current Archon quest? Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed at how he and everyone else treated Furina, but I was curious about your thoughts on the matter
ohohohohohohohoho anon. Dear sweet anon, you've activated my trap card, otherwise known as the Pencil Essay card, because I have sooooo many thoughts about this.
I will say though, I see Neuvilette in context of the story quests too, especially Furina's, as well as his friendship stories and voicelines. So, er, spoilers for that I suppose, but I can't separate those bits away from his character at this point. Anyway.
I frickin love Neuvilette. As a character, he checks a lot of boxes of traits that I adore, like being hella old, a dragon, somewhat isolated from normalcy, a cinnamon roll that can kill you, and Doing His Best. Now, as an important addendum to this, the fact that he is a dragon is a crucial part of the basis, because that's where a lot of conflict starts. He's separated from his kind, he's not a human yet he is confined to a human form, he remembers that the elemental authority should be his but Celestia took it and the archons have it now. The idea he has that he will forever be isolated, and that there will forever be a certain taste of bad blood between him and the rest of the world is founded. And yet. AND YET. Long ago, Focalors asks for him to help lead Fontaine, and he!!! Agrees!!! Neuvilette's character is rooted in a sense of justice and fairness, and in such, he tries to remain open-minded, and thus, he must witness things for himself. When he is presented a change in perspective, he accepts it.
Honestly I thought the Archon Quest did this rather nicely. He worked with Furina, believing her to be Focalors, for years. While Furina did waaay too good of a job in being as showy as possible, their close proximity meant that some of her true ethics and anxieties did make themselves known to Neuvilette. He knew when Furina was panicking and lying, just not why. Likewise, he has had inklings of when she's been sincere, and also, has a better perspective on how other people perceive her. More on that in a second.
Knowing what we know in hindsight, the Archon Quest is....very harsh. But. I understand why it happened that way. It was very clear that neither the Traveler nor Neuvilette wanted to put Furina on trial, however, neither of them were able to get her to tell the truth in private, and time was of the essence. The threat of a whole populace dying (and!!!! People have already died at this point!!!! Civilians!!!) is kind of a big deal. Something happens, or they all die; full stop. Hence, calling out the big guns. Which, to their credit, was just meant as a display of pressure on an actual deity, not an actual trial with death sentences and the discovery that Furina was a stressed out human all along. Focalors wanted that, however, so all according to plan. But very much not what Neuvilette wanted.
Fast forward. For Neuvilette, I think there is something really special to be said that he cares about both Focalors and Furina. He's only ever seen glimpses of both, but when Focalors aims to die to give Neuvilette back what is rightfully his, he protests! He doesn't want that! If there was a way for Focalors to undo the sea, he would accepted that, despite the janky usurped power thing. She is making a divine sacrifice, one that nobody else will truly know, and he mourns the person that is lost for it. Meanwhile, for all that Furina acted as a mask, and acted as if she was entirely self-sustainable, Neuvilette has shown to be concerned over her as a person. He caves so quickly to meet with Arlecchino when it's clear she's nervous, he asks Traveler to look after her, he tries to ask her when she's clearly being flighty. Even little things, like when he tells Traveler to acknowledge Furina at the beginning of the quest when she's showing off, because he knows she equates attention to success (just not why) and he is throwing her a bone. Yes, he is exasperated just as frequently, but Furina is not making it easy at that stage. Her entire schtick is to purposely keep people at arm's length, to be entertaining before she's likable, so really, I think there's an impressive amount of patience to be had.
The thing I have noticed about Neuvilette is that he is the kind of just that is caring. The law is for the sake of the people, and thus, people have become his focus. He denies this for a long time on account of believing himself to be forever an Other, but it is persistent all the same. He quickly wants to see the melusines treated well and with respect when they are integrated with society. He wants to see justice for those who are hurt. He understands, even, when those who do wrong are not bad people, like with Wriothesley. Neuvilette is, at his core, a kind person; however, he is terrible at expressing care in ways we would expect it. In part because he's just Like That, and in other part because he spent so long unaware of it. Usually, this means that he takes things at face value. If a melusine is being threatened, then there is a problem regarding humans' view of melusines again; if Wriothesley crawls out of hell with a Vision and the new title of Duke, then that means he found something to live for and he will support it; if Furina asks for space, then he tries to give her space. Neuvilette is a sincere person, even if sometimes he misunderstands the emotional complexity afoot.
Back to Furina. When it's revealed that she is a human, and she absolutely crashes, Neuvilette may not be the picture of fatherly comfort, but he is there for her in the way she asks, and even, in the ways she doesn't. She wants to be left alone, because Furina is tired of a facade and at this point she believes that everyone will hate both the fake her and the real her. Neuvillete obliges, and he arranges to pay for her apartment and food and make sure she is taken care of, when Furina is clearly not thinking that far ahead. It's clear that he would visit more often, but he's busy being the effective Archon now, and also, he doesn't think Furina would want that. Face value interpretations and all that. However, Neuvilette still appreciates the good that Furina did accomplish, in the mask and out of it. He doesn't fully understand Furina's hangups, but he respects what she does or doesn't want to do.
Now, Furina absolutely hit that depressive slump of a crash. Homegirl is living off of noodles like a broke college student. She thinks the world hates her and that everyone only put up with her because she was the archon and a superstar. Did she need someone to intervene? Sure. But she pushed Neuvilette and Clorinde away when they awkwardly tried, so Furina has to go through the long story quest way, and come to a bit of her own realization that people genuinely respected her ability to act as a skill and a thing of beauty, not just as a lie.
Furina's story quest offers the very best presentation of how Neuvilette sees her, and how, in his own way, he apologizes but also respects everything she has done and is. When Furina goes on stage, despite her valid reservations, and she gives it her all for that actresses sake, and she gives it her all because its real to her too, and Neuvilette sees this and sees her bravery, her spirit, and all of the hard work that Furina has given Fontaine for 500 years. So he tears a chunk off of his power and he gives it to her, in the form of a Vision.
The Visions are such a wonderful representation, because now that Neuvilette is the sole sovereign, without Celestia's janky throne in the way, he has full power over the granting of Visions. He can stop if he wants, because Visions are made by ripping chunks off of the god in question, but Neuvilette has studied and he has learned that humans are amazing and they earn their ambition, and he wants to give to that. So it's an incredibly purposeful gesture here and it carries the meaning of his care and respect in ways that he cannot articulate.
Neuvilette is kind. He's stiff, dutiful to a fault, has trouble being vulnerable and recognizing it in others, but he is trying, and he is kind. He gives credit where credit is do, and he tries to do the right thing, even when he misses the mark. He accepts when he's wrong, though, like with Focalors and Furina, like with missing how the general populace adores the melusines now, like with Childe when he honestly was baffled by the oratrice's absurd verdict. He's an old dragon and he's slow to catch up, but he makes that effort anyway, which I think is really neat. Neuvilette learns and he implements that. In Lantern Rite, he listened to Furina and finally managed to take a vacation, and he made a dumb little dragon ladle and had fun doing it. And he walked away from that realizing why taking a break was important.
So, er, yeah. I think Neuvilette is neat. Furina too. I really wish we can see them interacting more now that Furina is finally getting it through her skull that people do, in fact, want to be her friend and spend time with her, and I would love to see more on the implications that Traveler has told him of the other archons' exploits and he is forced to admit that they also either have no idea what's going on or that they known of them took the elemental authority on purpose/for the sake of it, but that's either an end-game thing or we'll never get it. Alas. Still I think Fontaine and all of hydro is in good hands with him.
Also he's an awkward dragon yall know I love grandpa dragon men who have parental bones but have no idea how to use them on purpose. I have. a type. of course I'm looking hard at neuvilette he's got the whole package
So uhhhhhh yeah. Yeah. I will. End it there.

general yandere headcanons - wanderer
wanderer - genshin impact
warnings: general yandere themes, unhealthy relationships, mentions of kidnapping, mentions of physical and verbal abuse, mentions of murder (not darling), spoilers for the 3.3 archon quest
word count: 1888
what kind of yandere are they?
The yandere archetype that this man takes on really depends on the point in his life in which he meets his darling, I think.
Pre-Fatui Kabukimono would definitely be a very clingy yandere. He has a deep fear of being abandoned again like his mother abandoned him, so he would latch onto anybody who he cares for and refuse to let them go. He is desperate for affection of any kind, so it would be rather easy to make Kabukimono obsessed with you at this point in his life.
The Fatui Harbinger Scaramouche would lean more on the possessive side. Unlike the desperate boy known as Kabukimono, Scaramouche doesn’t put any trust in anybody anymore, due to the numerous betrayals that have hurt him in the past. If he gets attached to someone, Scaramouche would want everyone to know that they are his and his only. He would probably be a little controlling as well.
Scaramouche as a yandere is also most definitely sadistic. He wouldn’t do anything to severely injure or kill his darling (because what fun would it be if they died?), but he would definitely be one for physical punishment if his darling did anything wrong. He would probably find some kind of sadistic enjoyment in the punishments as well.
Finally, post-Fatui Wanderer would still be possessive, but in a less intense way than Scaramouche. The Wanderer may even allow his darling some small freedoms. However, he would still be very much paranoid about being left behind, which he likely wouldn’t admit unless you caught him in a very vulnerable state.
I feel like one thing that all the incarnations of this man share in common is jealousy. It doesn’t matter if you met him as Kabukimono, as Scaramouche, or as the Wanderer, he would still be extremely jealous of other people, especially other men. Scaramouche would be more mean about it, probably even physically harming his darling or the person who made him jealous if it got too bad. Kabukimono and the Wanderer may be less likely to practice physical harm, especially Kabukimono, but they would still get jealous. I can imagine Kabukimono outputting his jealousy as verbal abuse, while the Wanderer would likely bottle it up and avoid his darling for a while until they either figured out what was going on and confronted him, or his emotions died down somewhat.
how do they treat their darling?
Kabukimono would treat his darling as the one thing keeping him from crashing down, which is partially true. This boy has been hurt so much and he isn’t very used to living by himself, so he can easily break down when there is nobody close to him. However, due to his desperation for connection, he blows this out of proportion, which leads to his extremely clingy nature.
Like I mentioned above, Scaramouche would be controlling of his darling’s actions, because he believes that if he keeps them on a tight leash, it will lessen the chance of them abandoning him. Physical punishment would probably happen often. The thing I can imagine him doing the most is shocking his darling with his Electro powers. He might also leave bite marks and/or bruises on his darling to show his possession over them.
I also feel like Scaramouche would expect his darling to worship him, especially after he undergoes the process that turns him into Shouki no Kami. He likely wouldn’t worship his darling very much, but it is clear that he cares about them in some twisted form.
The Wanderer is… an interesting case. Now that he is finally free from Dottore’s manipulations and can decide his own fate, the Wanderer would be much more forgiving than Scaramouche. He now understands the importance of freedom, and as I mentioned earlier, he would likely give his darling some small freedoms, like going out on their own ever so often.
However, that being said, the Wanderer still has a strong obsession with his darling. That means that his possessiveness and jealousy are not gone. Even so, he would deal with it in a somewhat healthier way. Unlike Scaramouche, who would regularly physically abuse his darling, the Wanderer would probably not resort to violence unless his darling did something that really made him snap. That being said, physical violence towards his darling may be off the table, but violence towards others… not so much.
I can see the Wanderer being a feral cat (especially because the 3.3 fairytale literally represented him as a cat). He’s untrusting of pretty much everyone, but for those who have managed to get close to him, he clings onto desperately and fiercely protects them. If anyone were to hurt or try to take away his darling, the Wanderer would lash out. He’d resemble his Fatui self within those moments.
In terms of kidnapping, Scaramouche probably would kidnap his darling, but how fast he does so depends on how much they stretch his patience. Kabukimono and the Wanderer likely wouldn’t, the former because he wouldn’t quite have the means to do so, and the latter because he understands the concept of freedom better than he ever did.
what kind of person would they obsess over?
No matter if it’s Kabukimono, Scaramouche, or the Wanderer, this man would probably obsess over someone who is very kind and selfless.
Kabukimono would obsess over a person because they may show him some sort of kindness. No matter how trivial that kindness would be, Kabukimono would become fixated on it and eventually develop an emotional attachment to that person. This boy hasn’t really been shown much kindness in his life, so I think he would take anything he can get.
Scaramouche would probably still yearn to receive kindness from others deep down in his twisted self. However, he would bury this feeling, and convince himself that he obsesses over his darling because of the satisfaction that comes with possessing and breaking the spirit of someone so benevolent.
I imagine the Wanderer being more open about his feelings than Scaramouche, but he would still probably not admit to anyone that he genuinely admires his darling’s kindness. Though, it would come out in his most vulnerable moments, in the dead of night while his darling is sleeping, and nobody else is around them… The Wanderer would absolutely be the type to watch them sleep, and he would do it with a fond smile on his face.
Another type of person that I think could attract him is a person with a fiery streak. I think this goes especially for Scaramouche and the Wanderer, and a little less for Kabukimono.
Scaramouche would take a lot of sadistic pleasure in tormenting his darling, and if his darling fights back, it just makes it all the more fun. It gives him a motivation to be more harsh with his treatment of them, which feeds into the aforementioned sadistic pleasure. Though there is a bit of a fine line here, because if his darling is too eager to fight back, then it would just annoy Scaramouche instead. He does want some sort of submission from his darling, so if they act defiant over every little thing, he definitely would not like that.
I think that the Wanderer would appreciate someone with a fiery and free-willed spirit. He admires their boldness a lot, but never admits it. He’d probably enjoy some light banter between him and his darling, since it makes his days more interesting, but like Scaramouche, there’s an upper limit to how much banter he can tolerate. Too much gets him irritated, and irritation is more likely to bring out violence in the Wanderer.
are they aware of their actions? how dangerous are they?
Kabukimono would be a rather delusional yandere, I think. At the same time, he likely wouldn’t realize that what he was doing is unhealthy. He just genuinely wants to be with his darling, why is that such a bad thing?
Scaramouche and the Wanderer are definitely quite lucid, though. They would both know that their actions and thoughts are unhealthy, but I don’t really think either of them would care. Scaramouche, especially. He would take pleasure in seeing his darling squirm because of his actions. This goes for the Wanderer too, but to a lesser extent.
In terms of danger, Scaramouche is definitely the most dangerous incarnation of this man. The Harbinger is dangerous both towards others and towards his darling. If someone tried to come between him and his darling, Scaramouche is definitely not below killing them. Conversely, although he wouldn’t kill his darling, the physical abuse and isolation are enough to pose a danger to their well-being.
The Wanderer probably ranks second in terms of danger, moreso towards others than toward his darling. I’m not convinced that he would jump to killing someone if they interfered like he would have done as Scaramouche, but that person definitely isn’t getting away without a beating.
Kabukimono isn’t very dangerous. Although his obsession would develop much quicker than Scaramouche or the Wanderer, Kabukimono makes up for this by being the least likely to resort to abuse and murder.
what is their most dangerous trait? how far would they have to be pushed to bring it out?
One word: persistence. Kabukimono/Scaramouche/Wanderer would go to any lengths to keep his darling with him. He’d go to the ends of the earth to find them, and he’d tear up anything in his way if need be.
Scaramouche is definitely the one to be most afraid of here. He has so much influence in the Fatui that he can use to find his darling should they ever escape. Unlike the other Harbingers, he doesn’t care much for the Tsaritsa, so I can also see him ignoring any orders from her if his focus is on finding his escaped darling.
Speaking of escape, that’d be the thing that triggers his intense persistence. If his darling ever succeeded in leaving him (somehow), he would go absolutely crazy. Like I already mentioned, Scaramouche would use the Fatui to find them.
On the other hand, Kabukimono and the Wanderer don’t have many connections that they can use to find their darling, so they’d have to do it themselves. This is really not much of an issue for the Wanderer, since he has his Vision to aid him if the need for combat arises.
However, in Kabukimono’s case, he really doesn’t have much going for him to help with the search, other than his friends on Tatarasuna. While they may help him at first, they would likely tell him to give up if they absolutely couldn’t find his darling. But he would search for his darling anyway, even if it left him hungry, sick, or injured. He’s that desperate. I do think there is a point where Kabukimono would give up, but it’d be when the pain of being left behind becomes so intense that it’s soul-crushing. So… not anytime soon after his darling’s disappearance.
Overall, this man’s persistence is nothing to be laughed at. If he puts his mind to it, he will find his darling again, no matter the consequences, and drag them back to him even if they are kicking and screaming the whole way. Do not underestimate him.

Alhaitham's and Kaveh's relationship in the Sumeru arhon quest: new perspective (for me, maybe for you too!).
Oh it will be long...
It started with my short thoughts about their first on-screen dialog and how it feels different now compared to a year ago, but then spiralled into me re-watching the entire Sumeru archon quest to properly analyse Alhaitham's hidden struggles during it and Kaveh's (not big but) actual plot relevance.
Disclaimer: I'm aware that English VAs were way more emotional then Chinese, especially in 3.2, but, for the sake of having the information to analyse, lets believe that at least the official eng text of their interactions is more or less correct... (I'm sorry I only know English and other languages most likely have translation errors as well anyway).
I'm also assuming that you've read their character stories and know their more deep personalities, not just "cold smart guy and artsy broke guy".
Anyway, I hope someone will find the analyses below as entertaining as I do.
1. Kaveh and Alhaitham: what we see during their first on-screen interaction.
Now, let's all time travel into the day when the last part of Sumeru's quest dropped. These sweet days... Version 3.2, two versions before we got Alhaitham as a playable character and four versions before Kaveh. By this point we've already known a little information about Alhaitham, mostly from the archon quest itself, and next to nothing about Kaveh.
Well, we knew some info, but it was mostly leaks and speculations, nothing more than "a genius architect who lives with Alhaitham because he is broke".
Now, if you didn't read the leaks and just carefully played the quest, you could actually catch some phrases here and there that implied that Alhaitham lives with someone before it was openly confirmed, but again, it's not specific at all. That is why our first meeting with a brand new sexy blond boy was so extreme in all ways. It was beautiful, emotional, entertaining and... extremely toxic. Both Alhaitham and Kaveh behaved surprisingly aggressive (calmer in Chinese but still more negative then what we usually see now). It was fun to watch, and made a lot of people including me really interested in those two from the get go.
But re-watching this dialog now after almost a year felt... Weird. Yes sure, they bicker, it's their thing, but if you compare any other scene with them later it's not nearly as intense... especially on Alhaitham's side (yes, even if you don't listen to va and just read the lines).
So it got me thinking. Why did Alhaitham behave like that? Was it a random writing decision for the drama effect? Or was there something more going on that I didn't understand?
After going through everything from start to finish I believe that yes, there was. But I'll need go through a lot of content recap to fully explain what I mean.
2. First aka "the first on-screen" aka "Where were you when Sumeru needed you most!?" dialog
It is essentially our first glimpse of Kaveh, which we catch in the library on the search for Alhaitham.
Kaveh has just returned to the city so he has no idea what is going on. The shown interaction starts with Kaveh demanding Alhaitham to put his book away and explain what is happening at the Academia. The fact that Kaveh is already pretty irritated when we first see him tricks us into thinking that he's a short-tempered overly dramatic guy, which is...
Well, partly true, but having already experienced how sweet Kaveh actually is we can see through that and realize that Alhaitham most likely was ignoring Kaveh's questions for some time now, and that's why our Kaveh was already on edge when we started. Already weird and we're just at the first line.
After that they bicker a little, Kaveh again asks about the Academia, on which Alhaitham answers: "Oh? I thought you would already knew the inside story."
Then they bicker again (2) and Alhaitham goes hard on Kaveh here. He even agrees with Kaveh that he doesn't say anything nice about him, because "anyone who knows you as well as I do would do the same". DAMN, Alhaitham, that's brutal even for you, why are you so mad, is something bothering you? Oh well..
Then they bicker again (3) and Alhaitham proposes Kaveh to move out of his house, but Kaveh ignores it and tries asking about the Academia again. Alhaitham ignores it as well and says "Forget what's going on with the Academia, haven't you been busy with your construction project?".
Kaveh doesn't want to answer this question and says that he's "getting angry just thinking about it" (worth noting). Kaveh then wants to change the subject again, but Alhaitham doesn't give up and asks about Kaveh's project again ("Where were you when Sumeru needed you most?").
Then they bicker again (4) and Kaveh leaves to ask around.
Huh, that was heated...
Lets do a little bit of unpacking.
So, Kaveh wanted to know more about the Academia and Alhaitham was constantly changing the subject. It can be read as Alhaitham mocking Kaveh just for the sake of it, but if we pay a little more attention to what Alhaitham is saying every time he interrupts Kaveh, it becomes more interesting.
1) "Oh? I thought you would already knew the inside story."
2) "Forget what's going on with the Academia, haven't you been busy with your construction project?"
3) "Where were you when Sumeru needed you most?"
Each time Alhaitham changes the subject, he talks about Kaveh being away for the time of the quest. Let's remember the golden rule of miscommunication conflicts: to understand what actually bothers your opponent you need to spot a repetitive theme in their words. And Alhaitham has a pretty clear pattern. Interesting.
But let's move on to the next dialog.
3. Second aka "second on-screen" aka "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" dialog
Kaveh returns after asking around and confronts Alhaitham about it ("WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?") (just a funny line). After some bickering (5) Alhaitham agrees to finally tell him what happened. He mentions that Kshahrewar sage was a part of conspiracy as well on which Kaveh reacts surprised and says "...could this be why they sent me out on a project?". However Alhaitham replies that it's just a coincidence and proceeds to suddenly go hard on Kaveh again, saying "whatever you were doing won't have any significant impact now or in times to come" (auch, Alhaitham, auch). Then they bicker again (6) and the dialog ends.
This interaction is more relevant to the "Kaveh plot relevance" section, but the important things for now are:
Kaveh: "...could this be why they sent me out on a project?"
Alhaitham: "I think its just a coincidence ... whatever you were doing won't have any significant impact now or in times to come."
And why is it important?
I find the flow of this whole conversation to be very weird, since it goes "confrontation - agreement - information share - speculation - confrontation". In other words, first Alhaitham doesn't want to talk, but Kaveh persuades him, learns about the sage, brings up his mission in the desert, and Alhaitham returns to the confrontation mode again.
It can be interpreted as Alhaitham just using every opportunity to disagree with Kaveh just cause, but at the same time his words sours exactly after Kaveh talks about him being missing from the quest. Coincidence? I don't think so.
All these little things got me thinking. Why is Kaveh's absence so triggering for Alhaitham? Sure they're close or whatever, but they both value their freedom very highly and it's probably not too rare for them to disappear for a day or two for work. Why is it such a big deal now?
But then I also remembered that Kaveh, basically the only family Alhaitham has (yes I call people you willingly live with a family, its my life experience), went missing from home exactly when the fishy stuff at the Academia started resurfacing. And he was gone for a long time, at least for the duration of the quest, which is about two in game weeks.
Even if Alhaitham is not a very emotional person, he still values family, home, routine and comfort very highly. So, in theory, the sudden empty house should have affected him in some way, right? That's how I decided to check Alhaitham's behaviour during the archon quest and it was.. interesting.
4. Alhaitham's side of the Sumeru quest, with me fillng in the gaps.
Let's think about all these quest days from his perspective.
You're simple logical guy who already for quite some time lives with an annoying but kind of endearing roommate, who you drink coffee with in the morning and often discuss intellectual or not really stuff. Sometimes you argue but he's perspective on life fascinates you as a scholar, so you don't mind it too much. Ultimately you're just used to him in your life.
Then one day you go to your work, which brings you just enough money to feel completely comfortable, but you start feeling that something fishy is going on behind the scenes. Some sages disappear, your archon is treated like a power source and there are weird rumours about the divine knowledge capsules. Then you get a sudden assignment - investigate a blond traveller with a talking fairy. And sages propose to pay you with the divine knowledge capsule.
Suspicious. If it's such a big deal, why would they promise you it as a present for a simple spy work?
You decide to get to the bottom of this and for this you need to buy the capsule yourself. You're sure that the infamous merchant Dori has some, but you're definitely in the black list as the Academia's scribe... Ah, how lucky is it. Your roommate just so happen to have a strong connection to Dori. If you give him money and an excuse why he needs the capsule so much she would definitely sell it to him. It settled then.
You come home. But you're roommate isn't there. You wait. He doesn't come back. You're confused and decide to check using you're connections at the Academia, and... he suddenly was requested to the desert? And just left? Why would he leave exactly when everything was going to get weird? Did he know something? Did Academia want to temporarily move him out of the picture? Maybe they did something worse than that? Was it all a coincidence?
You don't know and you have no time. You need to spy on Traveller. You need to buy a capsule. It seems that you're alone in it.
Dori didn't sell you a capsule. That wasn't unexpected but still worth the try. You decide to make the mysterious traveller to buy it for you. It went great. You find out more about capsules, you steal one yourself. You realise that the divine knowledge offered by the sages was a trap to dispose of you. Your roommate still didn't come back. It's been what, almost a week? Whatever. It's nice and quiet at your home.
You meet Traveller again on your way to the desert to investigate the source of the capsules. You run into Cyno and a bunch of other people and you seem to finally get the lead to answers that you wanted. You find out that the capsules were extracted from the brains of scholars who were send to the desert by the Academia and then abducted. You're roommate was also sent to the desert by the Academia. Uh. He's fine. You have your problems to deal with.
You and your unexpected but quite pleasant team find out that sages want to create a God. It seems it's time to rescue your archon. You came up with a pretty good plan. Noe you need to return to the city after these couple of days in the desert. When you come home, your roommate still isn't there.
The next day your team is preparing for the plan and Cyno says that you all need to go home and have a good rest.
"...Thankfully I had my place to myself recently. It's been nice and quiet."
"...Huh?"
Dehya stares at you confused.
You didn't realise that you said it out loud and you're not sure how other people deal with situations when they say something without thinking.
"Oh, nothing"
You went home and slept alright.
The plan worked, Nahida was saved, sages punished, akasha destroyed, your comfortable routine is safe again. It's still nice and quite at home, so you go to the library to read some books.
"Alhaitham, what happened in the Academia?!"
You hear a familiar voice. After all this time he returns like nothing happened.
5. And this was a recap of Alhaitham's side of the archon quest!
Interpretations can vary of course, but the way I see it, Alhaitham was very bothered by Kaveh's sudden disappearance. He clearly expresses that he wishes Kaveh was in the team during the quest ("Where were you when Sumeru needed you most?"). From this we can guess that Kaveh really left without any warning and had Alhaitham known about it, he would most likely stopped him.
I think Alhaitham quickly found out where Kaveh was (connections) but he had no means of contacting him quickly and maybe didn't even know the exact location. At first it was a minor inconvenience because of the Dori situation, but he probably wasn't bothered to much by it. But after he found out that sages actively tried to dispose of him by making him insane, he probably realised that the situation was way worse that he initially thought. And Kaveh still was somewhere in the desert with no means to contact him.
So what Alhaitham does next? He goes to the desert. Yes, it was for the plot reasons, but let's agree, he at least considered a possibility that he could run into Kaveh there. But he never did. And what's more, he found out that the Academia was abducting scholars and sucking their brains out. Let's be real, the theory that Kaveh was send to the desert for the reasons connected to knowledge capsules, most likely was on Alhaitham's mind, and in a bad universe it could've been correct.
Well, Kaveh did return home after all. But by that point Alhaitham's supressed stress about this whole situation was so great, that it resulted in him being genuinely salty at Kaveh during their first on-screen dialog and even saying "Well, maybe then you should move out of my house" - which, at least from my point of view, is way worse then his usual teasing about Kaveh being broke and homeless or whatever.
6. About Kaveh's role in the archon quest besides making Alhaitham sad
Ag, that's a very fun topic. I don't know how I totally missed it the first time, maybe it was the lack of respect for Kaveh, idk, but he was 100% purposefully sent away for the time of the quest.
Sages wanted to move him out of the picture just like they wanted to do with Alhaitham using knowledge capsule. Except they knew that Kaveh would not be too interested in the capsules. So they needed something else to remove him... Like a sudden very urgent request to build a children's hospital somewhere very deep in the desert for people who are literally dying without it! Huh, well, I just made it up, but I believe that sages came up with something very similar.
Kaveh is the type of person to jump straight into any charity he sees and ask next to none questions about it, so it would be the easiest way to send him away for good. Plus I believe that it could've been the reason why he didn't talk with Alhaitham about it and disappeared so sudden. Children are dying! No time for talking! But then he arrived to the said place in the desert and it was just a mess. Maybe a fake project, maybe literally nothing, maybe a trap. In other words - not the project he was told he is needed for.
It's something that we don't get spelled out for us (Alhaitham even denies it cause he's angry at that moment), but timings are just too perfect to be a coincidence. And that's not the only proof - Kaveh himself heavily implies that there was something very fishy about this mission.
He straight up avoids answering Alhaitham's questions about it, and says "Thinking about it makes me angry". Why would he say this about the Academia project? It's not like he had a specific annoying client. Kaveh was sent as a representative from the Academia to be the head of some "construction project" after all, he presumably was the boss there. So it can only mean that there was something wrong with the project itself.
Plus immediately after he finds out that his sage was a part of the conspiracy, he says "So that's why they sent me there", which further implies that whatever was happening on that mission in desert – it was either absurd (if the sages just wanted to keep Kaveh away for some time) or very dangerous (if they wanted him dead). Unfortunately Kaveh's the last person who would tell us about the danger to his life, so we can forget about learning what the hell was that mysterious mission.
Ah, and about why would sages want Kaveh away. Sure it can be because of his connections to Alhaitham, but…
I think anyone who knows Kaveh more then 10 minutes would know that if he found out what sages are planning to do with a literal child and what they do to other scholars, he would die but not let them continue all of it. And he is quite popular among students and citizens alike, so he could've been a potential threat for the sages.
Makes me wonder how many other potential dangers did sages eliminate in some way for their plan. Probably not too many, but still interesting behind the scenes of their actions.
AND NOW, AFTER ALL THIS THINKING, I FINNALY, FINALLY, WAS ABLE TO UNDERSTAND ALHAITHAM'S FINAL LINES IN THE ARCHON QUEST.
Let's return to the end of the act 5. After we had a feast at the Grand Bazar, we were able to one last time talk to each member of our Sumeru-rescue team.
Alhaitham said this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which was always bothering me, because:
One: He suddenly becomes quite sentimental and talks about happiness, which is cool to see, but at the same time... He very rarely talks about subjective emotions. And what's more, he seems genuinely enjoying the thought of it. He isn't really the kind of person who gets his sense of satisfaction out of someone else's happiness (it's one of the things he parallels Kaveh in), so what's this all about?
Two: He extremely abruptly switches the topic to point out that he "seems to have taken both keys when he left the house" (tbh I thought that I accidentally clicked on him the second time and it's the new dialog, but no, it is all specifically a one long dialog).
Well well well. What do we have here.
When I first read these lines I decided that's it's just a weird writing without normal conversation flow. First Alhaitham is satisfied that he's plan worked and his daily life is safe, but says it through pointing out that other people are happy rather then explicitly stating that he's happy. Then he yaoi baiting us with "haha, harassing Kaveh is so much fun" and that's all there is to it.
But.
Now that we know more about Alhaitham's daily life during the archon quest, let's think about the keys some more.
He was able to take both keys because Kaveh was at home and his keys were there either. On his way out to meet us, Alhaitham saw Kaveh's keys on their usual place and took them as well, ultimately making Kaveh unable to leave the house. Which also means...
Kaveh will definitely be at home when Alhaitham returns after the feast.
So if we flip everything based on this logic, Alhaitham tells us: "This is a great evening. This gathering is special. People are finally happy. They feel happiness from the bottom of their hearts. And when I return home there will be someone waiting for".
Which is. So. PRECIOUS!.. Something clicked in my brain when I first realized this meaning and these lines are finally making a lot of sense!
It's the perfect final words for his little character journey in this quest. He protected the life he had and loved, everything and everyone were back to normal again and for him it is a true happiness felt from the bottom of his heart. Just precious.
Final words
Anyway, yes, that's why I believe that during the archon quest Alhaitham was actually constantly worrying about Kaveh at the back of his mind and maybe even feeling lonely, which resulted in his great boom of toxicity during their first on-screen dialog, but after some time he cooled down and slipped into his usual happy comfortable and not "nice and quiet" life again.
And fuck the sages for sending away our boy Kaveh (who actually knows a lot about desert since he works there often) and making our rescue-Nahida-group one competent person shorter.
Thanks for your time and tears, you, the person who read this!

Snow Light
Hi everyone:) I finally decided to post the one and only writing I did for Genshin! This was an old work I did back in January 2022 to commemorate one of my most valuable game experiences. (I started Genshin in December 2021)
Character: Diluc Ragnvindr
Pov: You = The traveler/Player self-inserted
Synopsis: You have always wanted to explore Dragonspine ever since you first arrived in Mondstadt, but the cold was too much for you to handle, unless you can go with someone who is warm enough…
Premise: Both you and Diluc are secretly having a crush on each other.
Timeline: Liyue archon quest. Post-Mondstadt archon quest + Diluc’s story quest.
Tags: SFW, fluff, confession, adventure, Diluc is sweet and caring
Please note:
This is a translated work. Please note that English is not my first language and I’ve never written a fic in English before. I tried my best for the translation and please bear with me if you find any mistakes.
No gender specific pronouns were used. However, “you” was implied to be a female at some point since it was written on my POV based on my true game experience.
The title of this work came from the song “Snow Light” by Kensho Ono (Diluc’s JP VA). For me, those lyrics are Diluc's words of confession. I put the translations at the end and you are very welcome to check out how I think Diluc confesses his love specifically in this context :)
I hope you enjoy reading this long story ^_^
After destroying another hilichurl’s camp, you suddenly feel tired of everything.
You silently put those materials into your bag and walk to the highest spot of the mountain. The sun at noon is quite dazzling and it is hurting your eyes a bit, but it does not prevent you from having a great view of the entire Liyue Harbor. No matter what happens, those bustling streets and crowds will always be there.
It has been a while since you left the city of freedom and came to this land of geo. You are having a lot of fun admiring the beautiful yet different scenery and cultural heritage. Meanwhile, you have also met a lot of weird people, which…did not really surprise you right after leaving Mondstadt. The most typical example would be the man who is accompanying you in your journey -- Zhongli, the consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, who is extremely knowledgeable on almost everything, yet being totally clueless about money. Thanks to him, you always have to keep an eye on your mora to ensure that you and Paimon can still pay for your meals…
But this did not prevent you from growing interests for Liyue. In order to get to know this nation better, you have decided to do your daily commissions only here.
You haven’t been active in Mondstadt for quite a while.
Even so, you can easily to go back thanks to the teleport waypoints. Mondstadt is like a home for you. You know you can never actually leave there, especially after you have already crossed paths with too many people.
But there is only one main reason for you to keep going back and forth in two nations.
Every day, you would teleport back to Dawn Winery after finishing your activities. You would stroll around the statue of the seven, pick up a few windwheel asters, and look at the windmills of the city in distance. You would then go sit on the bench, enjoy the scent of grapes and wine. At the end, you would go inside the manor, and wait for the next day to begin.
The winery is open to the public all year round, but the maids and Elzer have basically acquiesced in you being there. Adelinde remembered all the books you like to read, and she would even prepare them for you beforehand. Almost every day, you would leave in the morning and come back in the evening, which made you feel like you are treating this place as a home more than the owner does.
However, you haven't seen Diluc since you worked together to resolve the stormterror issue. He seems rarely comes home. Sometimes he did come back, but you either happened to be away or have already fallen asleep in one of the guest rooms. You heard that he would occasionally work at the Angel’s Share as a bartender, so whenever you completed your commissions quickly enough, allowing you to come back earlier, you would always drop by. But only archons would know why you were unlucky enough to miss the redhead every single time. Instead, you did encounter that cavalry captain quite often. It always turned out that you were teased by him and had to ran away from the tavern with flushed cheeks.
Well known by everyone in Mondstadt, Diluc Ragnvindr is a handsome and wealthy gentleman, the highly respected young master of Dawn Winery. However, only a few know that he is also the “Darknight Hero” who protects the city every night. No matter using which identity, he will not be distracted by anything and always gets everything done perfectly. As far as you can remember, Diluc's expression has never changed dramatically, and coupled with his calm demeanor, it is not surprising if people say that he is grumpy or lacking emotion.
But that is not the case, you know it. When Paimon called him "Captain Pyro", he let out a disapproval grunt, but then acquiesced in this more nonsensical name after the tasteless title of "Darknight Hero". You spent quite a lot of time working with him during the stormterror attacks. Every night when you left the winery and said good night to him, he would look straight into your eyes and say "Alright, see you next time, I’ll make sure you get home safely." His soothing voice, his gentle tones, the tint of smile in his eyes…How can you ever forget those moments?
Yes, unknowingly, like many girls in Mondstadt, you have secretly fell in love with this prince of the dark night. Every day, you would spend quite a long time in Dawn Winery, scanning through the rows of books on the bookshelf with your fingertips, and then randomly pick one, sit down and read it carefully. Diluc is in charge of basically the entire alcohol industry in Mondstadt and probably half of Teyvat, the contents of his book collections are naturally about alcohol. You have heard from Conner saying that “Master Diluc has never read books in the winery, not even once…” But even so, your day-to-day habits have not changed, despite you don’t really understand the content by heart.
After all, this is the only way you can get close to Diluc without being able to meet him.
The dazzling sunshine pulls you out of your memories. You blink, and your eyes drift involuntarily to another direction – the direction of Dragonspine, which is the only place you haven’t explored in Mondstadt. Of course, it's not that you haven't tried, but the sheer cold was really beyond your ability to bear. Probably you will try again after you become stronger, or being able to master the pyro element, just like Diluc…
You can’t help but think of him again. Being a wielder of a pyro vision, he surely won’t be bothered by such coldness. He himself is as warm and bright as the morning sun, otherwise how can he dispel the shadow covering Mondstadt?
You sigh and open the map, trying to figure out how to kill the rest of the afternoon and hopefully, this will pull you out from all those fantasies about the redhead…
But a second later, you hear something behind you. Fear builds up in your chest instantly and you almost fall down. Thanks to the person who made the sound grabbed your arm, you did not fall off the cliff.
"I see…It seems like you are more easily to get nervous after gaining more experience."
That familiar voice makes you turn your head swiftly, and you see the face you have been thinking about all day and night. You can see the reflection of your flustered self in those ruby-like eyes.
"Oh! D-Diluc—uh, sir," you dodge his gaze, feeling the scorching heat spread from the back of your ears, "Ah...why you happen to be here?"
Diluc frowns slightly after hearing the honorific you deliberately added, but his tone is as calm as usual, "It doesn't matter where I am, right? This is nothing to be surprised about."
"But…we are in Liyue?" And on the top of a mountain with nothing but monsters and trees.
Anyone would find it strange that Master Diluc, who is dedicated to protecting Mondstadt day and night, appears in a place other than Mondstadt for no obvious reasons.
"..." Diluc freezes for a short moment, he then lets go of your arm, "This is not something you should worry about." Under your curious yet confused gaze, he slowly looks away and clears his throat, "…Please don't look at me like that."
"Ah, yes, I'm sorry!" You apologize in a panic, quickly adjusting your facial expression. But you accidentally see the blush of his ears. Before you had time to think about it, Diluc speaks again.
"There's no need to apologize.” He said, the slight embarrassment that was previously on his face is gone as if you were hallucinating, “How are you doing recently?"
"Eh? Um, well…" you are a little caught off guard, but still answer him with a smile, "I'm doing good, and I haven't been too busy with commissions recently. Thank you, Master Diluc, for your concern."
Diluc does not respond immediately, but his eyes soften, which is captured by you. A faint happiness fills your heart. You know that he is not simply being polite, but is genuinely caring about you.
"It's been a while since you and I have seen each other." After a short pause, he continued, "I heard from Adelinde that you would visit the winery every day. Did you encounter any difficulties?"
"Well...um...not really." You keep your gaze down, attempting to hide your embarrassment by fiddling with your own fingers. What are you supposed to tell him? Of course you can't just say that you want to stay at the house of your crush for… a little longer.
Diluc sighs, "It's alright if you don't want to tell me, but if you encounter any problems or have any needs, you can always come to me."
Ah, yes…He had said the same to you after the darknight hero incident. You did encounter a lot of problems when you first started your adventure, but you didn’t want to bother Diluc for such personal matters. After all, he is known as a busy person. So in the end you would always find a way to solve everything by yourself, even if you ended up getting yourself into more troubles, failing everything, or getting injured. After all, you dare not rely on others easily after parting from your sibling.
But these are actually excuses, you know that. After realizing that you had fell for Diluc, you didn’t know how to deal with your feeling, because you know it will never work out. You are an outlander, a traveler. After you find your sibling and reach the end of the journey, you will leave Teyvat, and you will leave him, probably forever.
You had tried to avoid him, thinking that in this way, your feelings would fade away as the time goes by.
But unfortunately, the effects were completely opposite. Your feelings towards him grew day by day until you couldn’t suppress them in any possible way. You couldn’t help but wanting to meet him. You want to stay with him, to talk with him, to travel with him, to rely on him…
You feel your face starts to burn as you are thinking about it, and you are so flustered that you don't know where to look. Diluc is standing right in front of you, and as you keep avoiding making eye contacts with him, your attention is caught by the vision attached to his belt. The pyro element glimmers in the glass bead, and that beautiful crimson color resembles the wielder’s eyes and hairs.
"Traveler?"
Diluc's puzzled voice is heard overhead, and you finally decide to look up and meet his eyes. At that moment, you suddenly accept the fact that no matter how hard you try to supress your feelings, it is useless, so there is no point to torture yourself like this. You already knew that it will never work out, so now you might as well follow your own inner thoughts.
"A-Actually, I have a matter that you could probably help me, Master Diluc." You try to calm yourself down, but you seem have lost your voice, "If it's possible..."
Diluc didn’t respond, and his expression stays the same, but obviously he is waiting for your next words.
"Could you…um, accompany me to Dragonspine...?"
You can’t help but to start panicking right after saying it. What if he rejects you? Once again, you find it is too hard to look him into the eyes, but it will be strange to lower your head suddenly. So you lock your eyes on the red gem on his bow tie and meanwhile, clasping your hands tightly behind your back, feeling that your palms are starting to sweat.
"Yes," Diluc agrees immediately, without even a hesitation. You look at him again in surprise, but you can see that he is confused. "But what are you going to do in Dragonspine? If you need any materials, I can find them for you directly."
"Ah, it has nothing to do with materials! It's just because I haven't really been there yet." Your respond excitedly, temporarily forgetting the shyness and embarrassment when facing Diluc. "I can’t master the pyro element at the moment, and it's just too cold there..."
Diluc looks into your shining eyes, the corners of his mouth are slightly raised, "I see, you are right. After all, you are an adventurer, and the joy of adventure always comes first."
His smile makes you lose your mind once again. Those feelings that have just been left behind came back to you in the blink of an eye.
A gentle gust of wind blows, Diluc looks at the blue sky, and you look at him. His crimson hairs is so beautiful under the sunshine, just as dazzling as the dawn.
“Let’s go.”
Dragonspine is still as beautiful as in your memory. The white snow covers every inch of the land, yet that’s not the only colour. The most conspicuous one is undoubtedly the red beam of the statue of the seven, which will be your destination today.
You follow Diluc silently. The sound of your boots stepping on the snow seems to be amplified many times. Even though you two had left the teleport waypoint for not even a minute, you already start to feel the sheer cold is devouring you.
"Here, take this," Diluc, who had been silent all this time, suddenly speaks. You are startled, while he hands over a red ore, "This is called the scarlet quartz, which can keep you warm temporarily."
The moment you take the scarlet quartz, it disappears as if melted by your body temperature.  You suddenly feel a nice and warm aura surrounding you.
"Wow, this is amazing!" You look at your hands in surprise, "Thank you, Master Diluc!"
"No need. The effect of the quartz can only last for a while. So if you are still cold, just let me know any time." He responds, followed by a hesitant expression.
"... Diluc,” he speaks after a brief pause, “just...call me Diluc is fine."
His words make you stop everything you were doing and thinking but only to look at him. At your first glance, Diluc's face is still as unamazed as usual, but obviously he is trying you avoid your eyes. And probably your vision is not too well due to the snow, but you are pretty sure that you see a suspicious faint blush on his cheeks. Could it be because he was just too cold as well……?
"B-But..." You stammer, feeling the heat gradually creeping up your entire face. But before you can say anything else, a group of hilichuirls, those who have ice shields in their hands, appears out of nowhere.
Immediately, Diluc gushes forward. Crimson flames burst out along with his movements. Even you, who is a distance away from the battle, can feel that extreme heat mediating from him. The moment when you come back to your senses and get ready to help, the battle is over, leaving only the melted snow and fallen materials.
You stand there awkwardly. Of course, the main reason that you invited Diluc, who masters the pyro element, to accompany you to Dragonspine was because you wanted to rely on him a little. Something like this shouldn’t be surprising, but when it actually happens, you still feel really bad about your incapability.
Diluc puts away his claymore and turns to you. And as if he had seen through your mind, his expression softens, "It’s nothing."
Seeing that you are still standing in a daze, he hesitates for a moment, and then comes closer to you. He lightly pokes your forehead with his gloved fingertips, "Come on, just take the materials, and we'll move on, okay?"
"……Thank you." You whisper your gratitude, blushing, and trying your best to let your heart calm down from his touch and his words. Diluc's voice is still as gentle and soothing as ever, making you feel like you are floating on top of the cloud. His flames seem to have lingered onto the skin touched by him, It’s not a burning heat, but a warmth that flows into your heart.
Fortunately, there are not too many enemies popping out as you two are getting closer and closer to the statue. Or maybe, all kinds of hilichuirls are buried under Diluc's flames when you are too busy enjoying the scenery or collecting materials.
You have never stayed this close to him for such a long time. His flying red hairs, flames brought out by his claymore, all perfectly complement with the whiteness of the snow. You always stare at him subconsciously and have to spend at least few seconds to bring your mind back.
He is just like a tint of fire that keeps you warm in the snow, makes you feel incredibly safe, makes you can’t feel the cold seeping into your body.
And it isn't until you hadn't been close to any fire or the minerals of the scarlet quartz for quite a while that you realized that you were already freezing.
Unfortunately, this is a bad timing. Diluc is not by your side now. He asked you to wait for him a bit and then left. You look at the surroundings, the beautiful snow you were seeing before is now somehow shrouded in a layer of dark mist.
An inexplicable fear surges into your heart like a tide. The wind is freezing cold, whistling in your ears. You tightly wrap all of your clothes around your body, but still can’t stop the biting chill from pouring into your collar. It is not that you have never felt cold before, but you still get scared after seeing your breath condensed into visible white particles floating around you.
Your vision has started to blur, and your legs seem to have lost all the strength…You are about to fall down—
The wet and cold feeling of the snow does not come as you expected. Instead, you feel soft fabrics, surrounded by a faint aroma of grapes and firewood. It is so familiar and reassuring, it is your favorite smell...
"Careful!"
You are still cold, but the fear in your heart fades away instantly, just like ice being melted by fire. And as you gradually catch your breath, you slowly open your eyes, and find yourself leaning on Diluc's chest, with him gently encircling your waist.
Oh archons, this is way too close, and he is holding you in his arms. Normally, you surely would immediately jump away, flustering like a mass and wanting to die. But now you can’t even stand properly, and your brain is just not functioning. Diluc's clothes are as cold as the surrounding environment, but strangely, his embrace is so warm, warm enough to make you, a person who is cold and longing for warmth instinctively, want to stay like this forever.
But after you recover a little bit and feeling able to stand still, the unbelievable idea of "being held by Diluc in his arms" brings you back to reality again. Diluc obviously notices the change in you. He lets go of his hand, but then immediately takes off his coat and wraps it around you, almost covering your whole body.
"I’m sorry," he looks at you, obviously worried, "I shouldn't have left you alone."
"I was just looking for a place where we can rest. I should’ve taken you with me."
You shake your head, "No…no, please don’t apologize, Master Diluc. I know you will come back." But to be honest, you almost let your fear won after realizing that you couldn’t feel any other human being but yourself in this cold, empty, and completely silent place.
"..." Diluc does not answer directly but looks at you deeply. Something is in his eyes, but you can’t really tell what it is. He then holds your hand, "...Come with me."
He takes you to a spot with cooking ware and fire, which seems to be lightened just now. The whole area is surrounded by tall rocks that block most of the wind. Almost immediately, you start to feel your hand and face again as the warmth seeping into your frozen bones. Diluc makes sure you sit down near the fire, then he started to set up the cooking pot.
You stand up again as a reflex. You’ve already done this on your own so many times, even when you were injured badly enough that you could barely move. And besides, no matter what is happening, it is still hard to let the master of Dawn Winery to cook for you.
"Sit down and rest."
His slightly commanding tone makes you unable to disobey. You can only sit down again, obediently.
While fixing your gaze on Diluc, you let yourself completely immersed into his coat. The smell of firewood mixed with the faint aroma of grapes and wine is now surrounding you once again. You take a deep breath, recalling this smell from Dawn Winery, from the vineyard, from the books he read, pages he touched… At that moment, you feel like you are at home.
You observe Diluc once again. This is the first time you see clearly what are under his coat. A black shirt with a white vest, the belt that goes from his shoulder and connected to his waist… He has such a nice shape…If you look further downwards-
You are startled by what you are doing and immediately turn your head aside, squeezing your eyes shut.
Now you are really warmed up……
After having some warm soup, you feel much better. The snow seems to be lighter than before as you two set out on the road again. You can see that red beam of light is getting closer and closer to you.
Snow falls on Diluc's hairs and shoulders. His shirt is slightly disheveled by the wind. You suddenly remember his coat is still on you.
"Master Diluc, " You speak hesitantly, about to take it off, "Um… you must be cold, I'll give this back to-"
"You can wear it." He replies, "The pyro vision can minimize the impact of the coldness on my body." He puts the coat back on you, carefully feeling your body temperature, "You need to keep warm more than I do. If you fall down again, I will be very troubled."
Thus you get the following: A redhead wearing only a shirt and vest, walking in the heavy snow, followed by a small figure wrapped in a big black coat, which does not seem too inappropriate considered you are in Dragonspine, one of the most mysterious regions in Teyvat.
Fortunately, you two successfully end up arriving in front of the statue of the seven, and the last obstacle is a layer of ancient rime piled up at the bottom. You are just about to clear it with your normal attack as usual, but before you can do it, Diluc stops you, "Wait."
"You need to have the scarlet quartz to clear them." He explains, "The subzero climate here in Dragonspine makes normal attacks useless, even with pyro elemental infusion."
"I see…" You look around, trying to find the redness in the surrounding, "There it is!"
A minute later, you come back with the effect of scarlet quartz. The rime was successfully cleared away by your charged attack. The red glowing statue makes the surroundings extremely warm. You look up at the anemo archon, memories flooding back into your mind. Venti, Dvalin, the Holy Lyre, Stormterror’s Lair, Jean, and Diluc, who is standing right behind you at this moment…
You close your eyes and stretch out your hand, the last statue of the seven in the Mondstadt area will be lightened up soon—
...
Nothing happened?
You open your eyes, confused. Normally the statue should have been lit by your touch, yet it is still glowing red at this time. You also can't feel the anemo element at all...
"As what I expected…" Diluc sighs, and you turn to face him, "It’s probably because I am here. I think that our humble anemo archon can't tolerate other people disturbing you."
"What? No, it shouldn’t, it can’t be…" You stand there helplessly, with your hand still on the statue. After months, you are finally here, and the journey to here with the accompany of Diluc is an absolute treasure to you. And now everything will go wasted?
You feel like your tears are about to fall, "…I need to go back to square one and do everything all over again…?"
"No." Diluc says, "You have already reached this point successfully, there is no need to start over."
Through the flying snowflakes, you can still clearly see him. His eyes are soft, he is smiling at you…
The snow seems to become heavy again. Diluc’s red hairs are flying in the cold wind. You are trembling slightly, but your feet can’t move as if they have rooted in the ground. You can only stand there, letting a thin layer of wind and snow separate you and him.
"I believe you can do well on your own from now on." Diluc continues, his crimson eyes met yours, and he smiles again, obvious enough for you to see it clearly, "Today's journey was quite delightful, traveler."
"Wait, Di—" You shout his name, but is blinded by the sudden strong wind. However, after only a few seconds, the wind stops, and you are facing an empty space, just like nobody was there before.
You look around anxiously, but you can’t feel any other human being. At the same time, the statue emits a dazzling blue light. The anemo element pours into your palm. You look up at this last statue in Mondstadt, but without any excitement and joy as you have imagined.
You sit down leaning against the statue and letting the wind whistling in your ears. Diluc's sudden departure gave you a feeling of waking up from a dream. However, the aroma lingering around reminds you that what happened today was not a dream. You look down at the black coat you are still wearing, those luxurious golden patterns are slightly deformed in your hands.
You didn’t even get a chance to say thank you...
Suddenly, you no longer have any interest in staying in Dragonspine, at least for today. You open the map, and in the next second you are standing under the identical statue, but at Dawn Winery.
Night has fallen. The wind gently blows your hair. Unlike the ones in Dragonspine, it feels warm.
You take off the coat and hold it in your hand, start walking towards the winery. You mind hasn’t come back yet, but your legs just automatically bring you right to the front of the manor.
"Welcome back, Miss." As soon as you enter the main entrance, you are greeted by Adelinde. Her eyes then fall on the thing in your hand, and she smiles, "Looks like you finally met Master Diluc today."
"Well, that’s true..." You reply in a low voice. You are embarrassed. During all this time, Adelinde has not only allowed you to live here, but she would even prepare the breakfast for you, send you out every morning, and welcome you back in the evening. Obviously, her attitude towards you is no longer as simple as a "guest".
You want to give the coat to the head housemaid, but she says that you can put it directly in Diluc's room.
Your eyes widen in surprise. Although you two have already known each other very well, and you have lived here for so long, you are still, well, a guest, after all. It is definitely not appropriate to go directly into the room of the master.
"Master ordered a long time ago that you, Miss, is allowed to enter any room in the winery."
Well then in that case…
Diluc's room is next to his study on the second floor. You have passed by countless times, but now you are a little nervous about going in. After a moment of hesitation, you carefully open the door.
The lights in the room have already been turned on. In addition to that comfortable king-size bed, there is also a desk that is similar to his study but without many things on top, surrounded by tall bookshelves. The curtains are half drawn, and the night outside could be seen. The luxurious furnishing of the room resembles the entire manor, but you can see the owner reserved a style exclusive for himself. A few wax-sealed letters are sitting on the desk, waiting to be mailed. You stare at Diluc's beautiful handwriting, an image of him sitting there and signing his name appears in front of you. Gosh, he must be as elegant as usual…
After looking around the room, you realize that there is only one place to leave his coat without opening the closet. You approach the bed, hands resting on those soft sheets. You don’t know if you are just tired or still too excited from having a trip with Diluc, but ever since you entered his room, there has been a warmth surrounding you, which is the same feeling he gave you when you were in Dragonspine today. It feels like he is still with you…
And he would sleep on this bed…by himself, after calling a day.
You swiftly cover your burning cheeks, "Stop! What the hell am I thinking?"
However……
Looking at those neat beddings, a sadness comes into you. On top of running a huge business that brings so much work and responsibilities, Diluc is only a young man who is not even older than you. How many nights can he sleep on this bed without being exhausted or stressed out…?
It is already very late, and he hasn't come back yet. Seems like the darknight hero is working hard again. Your feel like your eyelids are becoming heavier and heavier, and your mind is full of the redhead when your eyes are shut completely…
You don’t know how long it has passed, but you smell the aroma of grapes and firewood again. It is so close to you, and you can’t help but want to get closer, and closer... You feel like you have returned to Dragonspine, with Diluc is standing in front of you. Snowflakes are flying around, but it is not cold at all, it is warm, as if you two are the only light in the snow.
"Just…call me Diluc is fine."
You know you are dreaming, but his voice, and his eyes looking at you, are still so realistic and gentle. Your feelings flood out of your heart like a tide, and you can’t hold them back anymore—
It is very late.
Right after the clock strikes the third time, the door of the manor is opened and closed silently. The darknight hero rests wearily against the wall for a while, and then he slowly goes upstairs.
When Diluc enters the room, the first thing he sees is you, who is sleeping soundly against the bed while still holding the coat for dear life. He is startled, but then quietly comes to your side.
The redhead chuckles silently, observing your sleeping face lovingly. If ever you are awake, you would definitely suspect that the Diluc in front of you is a counterfeit as he would never make a face like this.
Diluc takes off his gloves, carefully pulls out the crumpled coat in your arms, then gently carries you and puts you into his own bed. You are asleep during the whole process, completely unaware of what is happening.
The moonlight shines through the gap in the curtains and falls on the two of you. Diluc, who is now supposed to take a shower and rest, sits down on the edge of the bed and looks at you without a word.
The Honorary Knight of the Knights of Favonius is now active in Liyue. Such a well-known fact can no longer be a part of his “intelligence network”.
He knows, as a traveler, you will never stop your journey until you reach the final destination and find your sibling. You will not stay in one place because of a person, an event, or a difficult task. Diluc himself had the same type of goal as you, and had traveled all over the seven nations alone, so he naturally understands your convictions and perseverance better than anyone else.
But it is precisely this kind of him, who has always been walking alone in the darkness, that he has unknowingly gotten used to and fell in love with the feeling of having you by his side. Only after you left Mondstadt, Diluc realized that even the most ordinary things, like seeing you around or saying goodbye to you, could make him miss you. Before being totally aware of the reason behind it, he had already started to take the initiative to obtain your information and your daily commissions.
Of course, that was very easy for him to do. But over time, this feeling of him, so called "missing you", gradually became a little more different than what he expected, and he couldn’t really tell what it is.
But it feels just like those few sporadic fire lights in the cold and heavy snow, which look so insignificant considering those random fire sources in the entire Dragonspine. However, the scorching heat those fire brought could not be ignored.
Because it is the heat that can make people alive. It is the warmth that he would love to approach and embrace. It is the light that he has been fighting to reach.
He wants to see you. He is going to see you.
Clouds are covering the moon. Diluc continues fixing his gaze on your face. His eyes are flickering slightly in the darkness. He can’t help but to get closer to you—
"…hm……"
Your suddenly let out a light hum. Diluc’s hand stops in mid-air instantly, fingertips are only half an inch away from your face, but you don’t seem to be bothered by anything and just move your body a bit, still asleep. Some vague syllables are coming out from your parted lips, but for some reason, it seemed like you are really trying to speak properly.
Diluc leans down to you, trying to hear your little sleep talks—
"...Diluc..."
Your voice is like a whisper, yet the pronunciation is so clear and accurate that it doesn't seem to be any kind of sleep talks.
Diluc’s eyes widen slightly, obviously in shock. He stares at you as if he is going to drill a hole on your face. He was not expecting you would say his name, and finally, without the title.
Meanwhile, clouds fades away in the exact right timing. Your cheeks are pink under the moonlight, but there is still no sign of you waking up.
......
"Yes."
Although Diluc knows you can’t hear him, he still responds in his most soft voice ever.
"Diluc..."
"Yes, I'm here."
His hand moves again. He strokes your cheek, eyes full of affection for you.
"......"
You unconsciously rub your chin against his skin, pressing your lips against his wrist.
"I…love you."
"......!"
Diluc looks at you in disbelief, feeling his whole body starts to tremble. Your warm breath sprayed on his skin reminds him that you did actually say that.
At this moment, all of his feelings in his heart are transformed into the same feeling that you have towards him. How silly of him kept telling himself that he was “missing you”, but it has been completely different since archon knows how long ago. The throbbing emotions in his chest seemed to have thawed the ice surrounds his heart, and that heat and love is spread all over his body.
"I love...Diluc..."
Your voice fades, and you fall into a deep sleep again after a while, but the redhead in front of you is surely not able to fall asleep today, in any case.
While attempting to control the heart that is about to jump out of his chest, Diluc kisses your forehead, this time, without any hesitation.
"Me too."
The moon is once again covered by clouds, but the light that can penetrate the coldness and illuminate the night will never disappear again.
The end.

「Snow Light」
—— Diluc Ragnvindr (CV: Kensho Ono)
Disclaimer: This translation is credited to this blog. I made adjustments based on my own understanding of the Japanese language, and I tried to make the lyrics sound more colloquial and complete.
The townscape of where you live is on the other side of the blurry window. It is flickering in seven colors. It is sparkling hazily.
Every time when I run in a hurry, chilled to the bone, I always want to hug you tightly.
Snow light, snow breath, snow flakes...
Right now, like that snow, my feelings towards you cannot be hidden.
They are falling and piling up for you, in a sparkling white.
It is only to you whom I want to give warmth. I want to hold you more than anything else.
Imagine us sitting close together, smiling, and I'm taking you by the hand…
I won’t let you go, I want to protect you. This brand new feeling is gradually growing upon me.
You are purely white. You are just my Snow Light.
Where you are you right now? What are the scenery in your eyes?
I wish to know more. This is the first time I’m having this thought.
My monochrome world is being repainted by you. That is like a miracle.
Snow shade, snow drop, snow dome...
Even if like that snow being melted away right now, this feeling of me will never disappear.
I just want to tell you, I’m always missing you.
Imagine us sitting close together, bashfully, I'm ascertaining your existence with my hand, while we staring at each other with sincere eyes.
I won’t let you go, my heart won’t change. My feelings toward you are never enough.
It is falling and piling up non stop, you’re just my Snow Light.
Although I can’t shine as beautifully as you, if I could become your light, that alone would make me able to overcome everything.
No matter how long the night is, I will never let you feel cold.
Surely tomorrow there will be a silvery morning light. It will be dazzling, it will be lovely...
It is only to you whom I want to give warmth. I want to hold you more than anything else.
Imagine, us sitting close together, smiling, and I'm taking you by the hand…
I won’t let you go, I want to protect you. This brand new feeling gradually growing upon me.
You are purely white. You are my Snow Light
Forever, you are just my Snow Light.
Thank you for reading.

My lovely 🥝 anon I too hope that you are doing well dearest! (Late) Merry Christmas to you as well, I hope you enjoyed it 💗 And YEAH EDBWDK it's crazy it's been so long since the Lazzo trailer dropped huh? I don't know when we'll get another huge lore drop but. I'm REALLY hoping we do because I'm hanging on by a mere thread.
And no I haven't actually! I'm not getting my hopes up for Natlan leaks so quickly, it'd probably be too good to be true 😭 But I swear, Signora HAS to be playable during Natlan 😢☹️☹️ I expect to see her moth flying in the background in a cutscene!! Or else!! 😡
UGHH I LOVE THAT HC SM!! I imagine Capitano had a whole plan of action for when he was trying to flirt with you (1. Chat with them. 2. Gauge their mood. 3. Flirt. 4. Gauge their mood again. 5. "Go with the flow" <- words from the book) Unfortunately he did not plan for you to flirt back with him. Capitano.exe has stopped working. What did that book say if this happened?! The poor Captain cannot remember, and now poor you are left wondering if he didn't like your forwardness. (He does.)
I've been reading a lot of "Dragon Capitano" Theory that has been going around after the end of Fontaine's Archon Quest and now i can't stop thinking of ur hc of reader teaching him "human emotion" 😭😭 its just so endearingly cute u know? -🥝
DRAGON CAPITANO? I've never heard of that theory before! I know Capitano is said to be an ordinary mortal/human but, I can't help but wonder if that's really true ahaha (the fanarts with the tongue and claws have me... 🤭 but regardless of what he turns out to be, I'll still luv luv him) But omg yes,,, that would certainly make that hc even cuter. A dragon living among mortals but still struggles to fit in!! 😔 But that's okay, you'll teach him all human things related, from emotions to actions to everything in between! And maybe he can teach you about some dragon facts in return :3 (Mhm now I'm imagining him hiding scales and other dragon features under all that bulk 😭)

Wriothelsey Story Quest Spoilers!!
I've been thinking about the gem for a while and haven't seen anyone else talk about this
[Warning, talk of self-destructive tendencies]
For a quick refresher, at the beginning of the quest Paimon chooses this gem out of a box of confiscated items and experienced a lot of bad things after touching it.
Tumblr media
Of course, in a "haha everyone does a harmful thing just to to make sure it's actually true" moment, both Wriothesley and the Traveler touch the gem to know its effects. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, when talking to Dougier and the Beret Society, Wriothelsey reveals that he kept the gem on him because it only has an effect when it comes in direct contact with skin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later Wriothelsey says he dropped it as a gamble to see if anyone from the society had seen the gem before, their reactions helping to confirm that the society had something to do with it. Again, pretty standard.
But, if we look again at the scene where the gem gets returned to Wriothesley, Dougier tells his members to pick it up for the duke and Aucelet does. It is worth noting that Aucelet does not have anything covering his hands, so he should have had some kind of negative experience when touching the gem. While he could have hid it, the reactions that we had earlier when touching the gem did not seem that easy to hide, especially since he had prolonged contact with it by having to pick it off the ground and hand it to Wriothesley.
However, Wriothelsey is not in the clear from this interaction either. On the surface, him holding the gem doesn't reveal anything too strange. But take a second to think about his design again and you begin to realize that he is in direct contact with the gem. It is clearly laying on that strip of exposed skin. He could have attempted to hold it in a way that did not touch his skin but simply keeps it as is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am not surprised that Wriothesley has no outward reaction to it considering that he touched it earlier and knew of its effects, but it is surprising that he would willingly be in contact with it for that long given the unpleasant experience he knows it causes. I don't deny that this is likely part of his plan to act normal about this, but considering Dougier has been using this gem on his people for a while now he knows that exposure is causing something to happen. Makes sense for him not to care about his member touching it, probably is beneficial for them to "understand what's in store," but it is a little strange for the Duke.
One counterargument could be that somehow Wriothesley had a replicate of the gem that looked the same without any special properties, but considering that the gem discovery and this scene take place within the same sequence doesn't leave any time for this to happen. And later in his office we crack open the gem to reveal the black water that is pure fear extract, further proving this gem is the real one.
Putting these instances together, I believe this is another instance of his self-destructive tendencies. Another, you may be asking? Well, he has a rather clear description of one in his voice line and Wingalet story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know that the primordial sea can dissolve Fontainians, and that diluted concentrations can cause adverse effects on people as seen with Freminet passing out in the water and Furina displaying signs of hyperventilation and flushed skin after touching it. His dip in the sea indicates that it was after the first part of the archon quest where he knows that the primordial sea is getting closer to the fortress. There would be much safer ways to test if he was Fontainian by using Primordial Seawater, such as obtaining a dilute concentration and seeing if he had a reaction. However, he went out into the sea, where he knew that prolonged exposure could cause someone to pass out and potentially drown, and did not tell anyone just to "test if he was Fontainian or not." Not even Sigewinnie, who could have provided medical attention had this experiment gone wrong.
Between the gem and his swim, he shows a higher tendency of doing things that could actively harm him both mentally and physically and covering it by disregarding his intentions. While the gem did end up coming in handy, did he really need to tell no one about his dip in the sea because "no one needed the extra information" or because if he did they would become concerned about his actions?
There are some other traits I could touch on here as well that Wriothesley seems to display but I may save those for another time. He seems to hide any negativity or insecurities about himself by calling them fact since that leaves no room for discussion, it simply is. He would never outright admit that both of these serve his destructive tendencies when they also have another purpose, but reading between the lines you begin to see a bigger picture.

Having been spoiled to what happens with the Hydro Archon in the 4.2 quest, if you need me I'll be lying on the floor facedown and screaming My heart is breaking for Neuvi
My heart is breaking for Furina first, she went through the WRINGER for 500 years. The trial, while everyone thought it was necessary to get the truth out of Furina, was so incredibly cruel to her, especially just before the verdict when she begged, voice breaking, only for everyone to turn away or close their eyes. She literally thought after almost 500 years of suffering through her role, she had failed them and doomed them to the prophecy coming true.
And then most people don't even know what she sacrificed! They only know the Hydro Archon went on trial, was sentenced to death but the sentence hasn't been carried out and Furina abdicated the position of Hydro Archon. I need Neuvillette to make a public service announcement how invaluable Furina's contribution to averting the prophecy were!
Neuvillette probably also had The Worst Day Of His Life during the 4.2 Archon Quest. He barely knew Focalors but still, she had Furina's face and her voice, they were two sides of the same coin (Her EN VA made them sound VERY different though, genuinely outstanding performance by Amber Lee Connors) and he watched her, full-frontal, get executed via a giant blue sword guillotine coming down on her. La signora x gn!reader
Tumblr media
Hello!! First Post sorry if the grammar isn't good English isn't my first language♡
Warning:spoilers to inazumas archon quest,Death, angst, not proofread, if I put pronouns I apologise for that it's a mistake.
You were enjoying your time in Inazuma especially all of the tasty food, right now you were laying comfortably in your lovers arms, without her, you wouldn't be able to travel tevyat and just be stuck in snezhnaya overworking yourself away.
You closed your eyes listening to rosalynes voice and her plans while cuddling in the inzumian bed
"And then the electro gnosis is mine" she giggled after
"Thats quite a plan, love. With your knowledge your about to succeed without obstacles" you say burying yourself more into her arms, slowly drifting off to sleep with no worries
"Sleep well my butterfly" rosalyne whispers while planting a kiss on your forehead.
Tumblr media
It was morning and while half asleep you didn't feel your lover next to you.
'maybe she was somewhere in the house' you thought. Getting up, stretching and putting on your slippers.
Slowly walking out of the bedroom you don't see rosalyne in the living room nor the kitchen. You walk to the bathroom and knock on the door , after a few second you opened it and don't see her here either. 'She mightve went out' you thought not paying any mind to it and went over your morning routine.
Tumblr media
Right now your walking around the city and looking at the stalls, you've tried a treat called dango milk, never heard of it so it didn't hurt to try, after a small sample you couldn't stop yourself from buying a few for yourself and rosalyne.
Happily walking back home after a small shopping spree, putting the bags away. "I hope Rosa will wanna stay here for a day or two more" you mumbled hoping it would come true knowing there's a huge possibility it won't and u will have to flee from inazuma.
It's been an hour since you came back from the city and also from the time Rosalyne said she will be back, starting to worry you put on shoes and recalled the place the mission was taking in.
Tumblr media
Now standing infront of the place rosalyne and the raiden shogun should be at. You took a deep breath and sneaked around the guards sitting in the shadows close to the door waiting for the door to open.
After a minute or two nothing was happening, to not waste time you ran near the guarding soldiers and knocked them out, you heard yelling behind you, turning around a little u see guards running at you.
You quickly opened the door and slid through. Panting you look up to see the traveler, after fully standing up you notice behind traveler, the raiden shogun and then your eyes drift to your lover who's on the ground kneeling
You were horrified at the sight and your body started moving on its own. You couldn't bare to see her hurt, she hasn't noticed you and started getting up trying to use her delusion.
"And you! Filthy rats... All of you!" You heard your dear lover shout while charging at the raiden shogun, in shock you just started running towards rosalyne to save her from the electro archon wrath. Even if you were close..you failed to save her.
So close yet so far. You dropped to your knees and screamed out of agony and terror. You couldn't believe your love the one you promised to marry just in a blink of an eye gone. You covered your face with your hands sobbing.
You felt a hand on your shoulder, uncovering your face it was the traveler. Out of anger you pushed them away and stood up suddenly you became dizzy and could barely stand. The traveler catched you mid fall.
Tumblr media
It's been a year since rosalynes death. Right now you were standing in front of the tsaritsa claiming your title as a harbinger. You promised to be loyal to her majesty and also avenge your lover. There's no way your letting off the traveler or the electro archon after that. Just they wait, you'll claim a high rank in the harbingers and show them what true love can do.

zhongli is my favorite character because there are so many things about him i find incredibly endearing.
i like his glowing hair i like his glowing arms i really really like glowing hands, I like his orange eyeshadow and the diamond in his eyes. I like his earring and the rings on his hands. I like his voice a lot. I like that he has a skinnier waist than the other tall male models.
i like his thoughtful yet very playful and mischievous nature. He is a tease but he is so refined that we just gloss over it. He loves tricking people and having a good laugh he just gets away with it
In one of his character stories you read that rex lapis used to perform in plays and I just know he's been one for dramatics for eons.
I like how open he is I love how he cherishes the past dearly he keeps all of his friends and companions close to his heart but he always wants to keep moving forward
I like how he banters with paimon but he's always so sweet with her. Like he really considers he thoughts and opinions
He is always asking the traveler how they are. He always checks up on us to ask about our adventures and if we are happy or stressed. Hes always willing to lend an ear and listen to our problems. He can't tell us what we want to hear but he tries to be supportive in his own way.
Best archon statue and i love his outfits I hope we can see more
He is unintentionally (or intentionally???) the funniest person ever especially when it comes to not having money or role-playing strangers at the group dinner with his friend barbatos. Or when he lied about not being in the chasm? Or when he asked the traveler for mora after getting a 3 million mora bill? or when the traveler and childe were having a stare down and he walked into the middle of it still talking about the ritual. Or the ever classic "you make me sound like some kind of bourgeois parasite"
He's picky and super refined he likes classics and detail and owns the most expensive things but he's always open to trying new things.
I like how he called qiqi "little miss qiqi" during the archon quest.
I love his relationship with xiao he might not say how much he cares about xiao he will show it. He didn't have to save xiao either but out of the kindness in his heart he gave him a chance at life.
his relationship with hutao is precious cause it seems like he has trouble dealing with her but every interaction between the two of them is really sweet?
I like that he argues with historians about rex lapis lore. Like there is an instance where he said "according to other researchers this happened" like he wasn't fucking there
I like that he has changed his form throughout the years and I am on my hands and knees to see his female form.
I find it super sweet that his current outfit was designed by his yaksha and that he probably has gifts and outfits from all his adepti stores somewhere
I like that while he may not have showed emotions always stayed true to his ideals and watched over humanity diligently. He was ruthless during the war but never cruel
I like that he forges weapons- the weapons of the golden majesty and primordial jade series all belonged to him or were created by him at some point. i would love to see him wield or bow or catalyst
its implied that he shows his affections through gift giving and was the type to forge weapons for his companions during the war.
He is super innovative and creative, teapots, adepti arts ,a lot of them were created by rex lapis
I think its cute that he mother-henned liyue for thousands of year and kind of broke down when he realized they don't need him to do that
hes very cute when he gets surprised by things
he's a very calm person? i know we fantasize about alpha daddy zhongli but he is really gentle and when he gets mad he can be really short with people. a very refined gentleman
he likes the scent of older women and people of liyue used to give rex lapis lots of flowers specifically silk flowers
people find him super interesting but also super weird and thats hilarious thats perfect
i like that zhongli is proficient in fashion, commerce, business and all the fun things in between but hes gonna tell you all about silly trivia about birds and rocks and flowers cause he thinks there are interesting. Like he knows everything he could probably tell you what clothes are going to be in season or what is the next trend in the business market but he insists on telling quirky little facts.
He is also really good at cooking or at least he knows a great deal about it but then again he is knowledgeable in all things to an extent
he is a LIAR he LIES i want to say he is green flag but the first thing that comes out of his mouth is a LIE. In his defense it is probably not for malicious reasons
I like his that he kicks his polearm when he attacks and I like his face doesn’t change when he attacks like he maintains a very neutral expression
when he tricked than man out of two hand-painted fans???
he loves liyue very much like extremely nobody loves liyue more than him he is so proud and happy about them all the time. He always talks positively about the people the nature the culture like you could say he has a bit of an ego but i think its fine like I wonder how the people of liyue would react if they knew how deeply their god loves them
if you dig through weapon lore and books there are many stories where it’s safe to assume rex lapis is disguising himself as a human to prompt liyuens to do something.
once beat up a man for breaking a contract and emotionally scarred another woman for also breaking a contract
"a heart of stone is a heart nonetheless"
one of his character story's end with "how can a person like him not starve?" and the immediate next story starts with "a person like him will never starve" like yes he is very poor with money and seems to spend it on whatever he pleases or simply forgets but you see there is more to contracts than money alone and I think no one understands this more than him. If zhongli wants something he will get it he just wont use his own money or money at all.
most of his emotion is in his eyes
diamonds in his eyes! liyue visions are diamonds! square cups at parties! he is man who likes a good quadrilateral
“should the day ever come that we are not together you will continue to shine like gold in my memories”
his only flaw is that he hates seafood cause i love seafood but I can eat his portions for him
