Some. tips or advice for drawing men? I usually draw women often. As I entered the Twst fandom, I realized that it is difficult for me to draw boys. 😅🤔

and, tips for drawing men ... i also used to struggle at drawing men before, and only drew women when i first started out.

i tend to draw men and women with rather similar features, as i think that features really only depend on the character. of course, doing studies of real people always helps! you can also study other people's art and see the differences in how they draw the characters. it's helpful to see how they stylize it.

here are how i draw women and men side by side (sorry for the quality difference, i had to just compile pictures of guys i've drawn)

as you may notice, i gave some of the women softer cheeks, maybe longer eyelashes, and more defined lips. the men have higher cheekbones, thicker necks, slightly smaller eyes, etc.

this is definitely NOT a hard rule, because even when i tend to draw straighter noses for men, some of my women have straighter noses than each other, and some of my men have upturned noses. or even, at times my men have longer eyelashes than my women. it really depends on what you think suits the character (muscular women, feminine men, hooked noses, big lips, etc).

i think people can draw men however they'd like, so going completely off the script from what people think the average man looks like is completely fine, but if you would like a starting point, the "average" man is a good place to start (as much as people hate those tutorials that do side by side women and men comparison, those kind of helped me as a beginner).

from dean’s perspective “i need you’ is bigger than “i love you”. love is complicated but it’s direct, he could love someone without having them in his life. but need? dean “mr. dependent, guarded walls up so high, emotionally unavailable” winchester needing someone? thats huge. to need means to give them control. to need means i cant do this without you. love comes easy to dean but to genuinely need something and be selfish enough to ask for it? that goes against everything he’s been conditioned into believing.

kiri is so manipulative im sorry like he’s too nice to not be thinking about keeping you all to himself. he’s so nice that he’s toxic. he’s overbearingly charming, eijirou’s bright smiles are so sweet that you feel a little sickly under his adoring gaze but you love the sugar rush he gives you. you bask in the attention he gives you.

the red head tells you that he loved you like a week into you talking — and you can’t say no to him or deny him because he’s truly the nicest guy you’ve ever met and when will you find another person as perfect as him? better than any man you’ve ever dated before, it’s like he’s walked right out of a romance novel because he’s saying all the right things :((

you don’t realise that kirishima’s got you trapped until it’s way too late. until your friends stop replying to your texts because you’re always with your boyfriend. because he never lets you out of his sight and goes everywhere with you — all under the guise of keeping you safe, protecting you, making sure his girl stays safe :((

at least that’s what he tells you with that same sickly sweet smile — except this time you notice the darkness shimmering in the depths of his ruby red eyes.

Oblivion has the weirdest aesthetic choices going on. Everything is super bright and saturated, the characters look silly and almost bordering on cartoonish, and the voice acting and delivery tends to be pretty silly. The whole things has such a strong classic fantasy vibe compared to the other tes games, but also there's a bunch of realistic gore and rotting corpses and really dark questlines with gross visuals (for the quality of those visuals). it's such a weird game.

thinking about simon being like a cat. a mean ol' one all teeth and claws, scratching and hissing when you stretch a hand out to him. biting you because that's all he knows how to do - it's all he's ever done - and it's kept him alive.

that's what his whole life's been about - staying alive. surviving. maiming anything he sees before it can get to him first. so he doesn't know how to react when you don't bare your teeth at him but just smile and make him tea. he reacts like a stray cat does when it's offered warmth - he's confused. and his confusion gives way to anger and again he spits fire because what else is he supposed to do? accept your kindness? bah! it's a hoax, he knows that. you'll tire of him and claw at his neck sooner or later so he'd rather not let you close enough to do so.

and when you don't give up, and you keep smiling that gorgeous, dazzling smile at him, he doesn't know what to do. no one's ever done this before - been all soft and sweet and only wanting to be allowed to scratch at his ears in reward. why were you doing this? why didn't you run away when you saw how he scratched at you? why do you look at him with those big, beautiful eyes like he's the only person in the world?

at a complete loss, he lets you pet him and oh that smile he'd let you tear his heart out if you would just keep smiling at him. "hey, simon!" god, he wants to drown in the sound of your lips wrapping around his name. you come close to him and his brain stops working, eyes wide and lost when you wrap your arms around him and pull him to you. warmth. is this what it feels like? he wants to live forever in the crux of your arms, creating a life for himself between them.

he couldn't stop smiling if he tried, if he were a cat he'd spend the rest of his time on this earth, the earth that tried to bury and kill him and is now making amends by sending him you, running between your legs and swishing his tail around you. simon riley who's always had his head on a swivel, who's not gotten a full night's sleep in a decade lest he miss the chance to look his reaper in the eyes, now sleeps with his head on your lap, belly up and purring.

i just want to remind everyone that, since the grishaverse is kinda sorta based on the victorian era, and since wealthy victorian families dressed their toddlers (girls or boys) in dresses, and wylan was very wealthy growing up, there are definitely family portraits in existence of baby wylan wearing one of those goofy ass victorian baby dresses

this watcher news is so insane to me for lots of reasons but i cant help thinking of starkid. an independent musical theater company that has put all their musical productions on youtube for free for over 15 years. recently, those projects have cost easily over 200k EACH. yet, they keep posting it for free. why? because doing that provides for their fanbase, which supports them monetarily in other ways. they produced 2 musicals back-to-back in summer 2014 to still be able to support the company, and still put them both on youtube. they hit their 250k kickstarter goal in 3 DAYS LAST WEEK. they have tons of prizes and exclusive content that people can get for payment. people willingly give them that money because they are ultimately creating art for all of us to see, for free. it would have made perfect sense for them to stop doing this years ago, but they didn't, because that would go against everything that helped them become as big of a production as they are. imagine if avpm was never released on youtube for free! i guess my point is that there IS a way to make a profit and still release "free" content for the masses. watcher just doesn't seem to want to put the work in for that.
