Favourite colour: Most shades of green, and gold.

Currently watching: The Great, season three.

Last movie: Oppenheimer. (Super impactful and important, but gah, Nolan could definitely have shortened it by an hour! I came out of it with a splitting headache.)

Currently reading: De Profundis, by Oscar Wilde, and The Guinevere Deception, by Kiersten White. Enjoying both!

Sweet/spicy/savoury: All three! But I learn towards spicy/savory these days because I'm trying to cut down on sugar (the woes of adulthood).

Relationship status: Trying to recover from massive heartbreak at the moment, but still putting myself out there... although everyone seems terrible

Current obsession: African food. I just had Nigerian food for the first time and it was just amazing. I've already had Ethiopian. (<3) Now I want to try Ghanaian!

Last thing I googled: "Escape rooms near me", for planning my dad's birthday.

Happy pride month, the best thing about living in the UK is that every one of our bat species have been observed engaging in homosexual behaviour of some variety.

But it's not just them! You might be surprised at just how many bats are gay, both male/male AND female/female, with a lot of bats displaying behaviour that favours both male and female partners! This behaviour has been observed in the wild in Pteropus, Pipistrellus, Myotis, Nyctalus, Plecotus, Rhinolophus, and more! As well as in captivity in Desmodus! The exact behaviours vary between species, but include allogrooming, fellatio, mounting, and even inter-species homosexual sex!

Saying that non-conforming female characters don't face as much misogyny as their "feminine" counterparts is so funny cause literally the misogyny in their treatment is more overt because they aren't staying "in their place" like men think they should. The disdain for women + misogynistic societal ideals are so much more blatant in male characters interacting with these women. Countless times they are, in essence, told they need to sit down, shut up, and know their place but somehow that translates into them having "masculine privilege". I can only assume that people with this take haven't actually read the books and only get their information from second-hand sources.

(With a recent influx of followers, I figured it was long past time to do a proper pinned/intro post).
