This is stupid, but you know those new LO hoodies the Webtoon shop has? I know the font they're using. It's Eckmannpsych which is an Adobe font.

That's not the stupid part though. The dumb part is the capital H and G in the Eckmannpsych font do not match what is on the hoodies, which would obviously be on the hoodies that have Hera or Goddess on them. So, Rachel looks to have taken the time to hand draw her own H and G to match the font style for those hoodies but did not take any time to make new, better art for the merch, but instead reused ugly panels from the comic. Talk about a strange look into her priorities. She doesn't like how the G and H look on a font? She will remake those to fit what she wants. Rachel when the assignment gives her the chance to make specialized, better designs for those same merch? She can't be bothered to even try. WTF!

for the love of god-

I'm assuming and hoping they had the commercial rights to that font LMAOO But it did kind of make me go 🤨 because while I didn't know the font EXACTLY off the top of my head it still felt... weirdly out of place for something like LO? Why are these hoodies being stylized like they're from Austin Powers LOL

On another note tho, the LO merch is just like... disappointing in how bad it is for what's supposed to be WT's #1 series, which is, btw, a series with so much unique stylization that it shouldn't even be this hard to make merch for it! it just feels very "first attempt at redbubble merch", but unlike genuine first attempts at making merch (which is obviously a learning curve that I wouldn't judge anyone for being new to) this is a company that's sunk shitloads of money into LO so I don't know why they can't get better merch made?? so much of it is just the default drawings taken and slapped onto a tote bag or t-shirt, which like, yeah cool fine you're using art that's recognizable and considering the art is already made, it stands to reason that they should use it for more than just the comic. It's just disappointing to see how lazy it often is and how little effort is put into translating it onto a t-shirt/tote bag/etc. like we can't even have ONE exclusive t-shirt with a unique design that isn't just poorly copy pasted from the comic?

Case in point, those t-shirts that Rachel was advertising a while ago that were actually straight up falsely advertised. I can't find the post about it on my Tumblr (I'm pretty sure I talked about it here) so here's the IG story rundown I did on it ages ago:

Again I'd really like to have benefit of the doubt here that Rachel isn't the one making these designs, usually that's not how the merchandising process goes in these types of deals, so I'm not gonna point the finger at her. But it's just so odd to me that it happened in the first place. And this goes for a lot of LO's merch, so much of it feels cheaply made and rushed off a conveyor belt for the point of making money without much expense. Which yeah, that's a business model for sure, the goal is to profit, but like this?

You can't even argue that it's like people criticizing LO the comic because like, as much as I'll justify what I spend my time doing here in my free time, it's true that at the end of the day I don't have to pay for LO, so really the only thing I'm doing is inflicting psychic damage to myself, it's not like my actual money is on the line LMAO That's why I stopped paying for LO ages ago and only do it when I have a specific episode I need to review (such as the midseason hiatus review series I did). At the very least, if I really want to keep reading LO but don't want to pay for it, I can just avoid FastPassing it and read it for free so I can save the coins for other series I'd rather read. The Webtoons' FP system is very fair that way.

But this is merch explicitly made to generate revenue. It is a product, front to back. You can vote with your money by not buying the thing you don't like, absolutely, but the fact that it's this poorly to begin with is just so indicative of Webtoons' business practices and so shitty for the people who genuinely enjoy this comic and are being advertised and sold shoddy merchandise that doesn't even come looking the same way it's advertised. It's really not a good look for Webtoons, Rachel, or LO that this is what they're selling to people.

Especially for what they're charging, good lord-

Like, okay, they're hoodies and they're gonna be expensive to print and ship so the higher overhead cost makes sense, but jesus christ, with the kind of merch Webtoons has already given the stamp of approval on, would it even show up in decent condition? How bright are those colors gonna be? Are they gonna strip off as soon as I throw it in the wash? I'm half-tempted to buy a hoodie for myself just to do a review on it but I can't justify dropping $75 CAD on a hoodie that only has art on the back. Maybe it's just me living in the hellish lands of Canada where we play with toy money that's the problem, but it's just not a gamble I wanna take LOL If I bought one it would probably be the Hecate or Hermes ones because they're the only ones that are at least somewhat legible and have decent character art that isn't a character looking like they need to poop LMAO

(these are literally the two worst drawings they could have chosen of these two i stg lol the only thing that would have made this worse/funnier is if it was Handsome Hades and Persephone Kidnapping a Baby LMAO)

It has me worried about what the LO figures are gonna look like when they release. Are they gonna have some creative liberty with making them chibi-fied (like a Nendoroid?) or are they gonna try and replicate the art style exactly and wind up making literal blow-up sex doll Persephone? 😭

NGL, if the figures are done well enough and don't cost an arm and a leg, I might consider buying one just for the shelf collection, but again, it depends. I also play Mass Effect (both the Trilogy and Andromeda). Recently, I've received Fallout 76 from a friend, and I've been having fun playing it! Other than those, I also play Left 4 Dead 2 with friends when time permits. Base on the games I mentioned, I probably lean towards hack-and-slash and shooter games, story-rich, and character customization. I have other games that I don't play that much anymore (because of time...sigh), like the Gods Eater series. I've finished all Dragon Age games, and I don't want to touch my current world state anymore, unless the next DA game gets released. If I don't want to get stressed on shooting stuff, I get stressed on planning my agenda in Stardew Valley!

Yh i agree about people s obsession with new duos. And don t get me wrong, sometimes new and unexpected duos are great, i m talking to the treebark burner account! Ranchers were also great, and totally out of nowhere. But i think people are a bit too obsessed with 1 creating new duos and names in order to portray new narratives and theories and 2 making every close relationship romantic or familiar, as if close friendships, qprs or just good ol' rivalries did not exist 3 ignoring female ccs, even more so when it gets in the middle of a ship (this happens with women in every single piece of media btw).

Male-female friendships (or ships) are often ignored bc i feel a lot of fans feel as if these fanon relationships are somehow more "real" and not roleplay bc they are a "straight couple" (c'mon people, most of us are queer what are you doing with this mentality?), and are more likely to assume you ship the creators and not the characters, or worst, to actually assume the ccs are together irl (which was the reason some female ccs were against shipping in the 1st place). Re: this point, I will give an special mention to bee duo though, the fans really assumed they liked each other irl, which was very creepy considering they were underage at the time.

F/F ships are also often snubbed, although lately i ve seen them become a lot more popular, such as nature wives and more recently Gem & Pearl (ik the ship has a name, but i ve decided to ignore it bc we are better than that), which has been satisfactory to see. Still a long way to go though.

the fanon side of m-f friendships/ships in hc is interesting bc pre gem and pearl, the three women had their "designated guy bestie that they always collab with" and it's quite obvious who: stress-iskall, cleo-joe, false-ren (to a lesser extent cub). former two are basically the only prominent m/f ships (iskall in particular plays into it). i had talked to ppl in dms about why false/ren isn't prominent and my main theory is what i call the yaoi shield bc ren is shipped with a lot of men LMFAO (also something something about ren/iskall and false/stress being complements to avoid the "boring" m/f shipping).

but i still wish m-f friendships get more recognition 😔 like if you're not shipping them in the character sense, there's no risk of being seen as irl shipping, so technically it's no different from same gender friendships, right? 🤡 and i do not like the instant "siblingification" to create a fanon familiar bond to avoid shipping. like sometimes it works. a lot of the time it doesn't. people can just be friends. and they all are actually friends.

Whew. Any and all music lol. So like the only thing Lebron James and I probably have in common is that we both still listen to Pandora lol. What can I say? It’s free. I never really bothered with Spotify, but I have a Slacker account ‘cause it’s like $4 a month for no commercials, and I never cancelled my free trial. Btw I don’t even know what Slacker is really called at this point, but I know it’s not Slacker anymore lol. According to Slacker’s end of year thingy which I guess is akin to Spotify’s wrapped lol, my top 3 artists were: The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Mariah Carey and my top 3 songs were “Heart of Gold” by Neil Young, “Everybody Plays the Fool” by The Main Ingredient, and “California Dreamin’” by the Mamas & the Papas - I don’t know how accurate I find any of those, but they aren’t wrong either 😂

Though I do have fics (tentatively) titled Everybody Plays the Fool, and Heart of Gold, and Jealous Guy in my Google docs, so…

Anywho, so I’m a big oldies girl, so I’m usually listening to my oldies station on Slacker, clearly 😂. When I was writing Stolen Moments I listened to 90s R&B playlists on Pandora & Slacker a lot. Sometimes I’ll put on YouTube and let them make me a playlist. Ooo I really like searching a random year’s Billboard 100 on YouTube and listening to it while I write. Like I’ll just type in “1985 Billboard Hot 100” and some wonderful soul will have posted it. Hmm when I was writing Your Secrets are Safe with Me, I probably listened to Alicia Keys’ “Diary” approximately fifty times. The song itself has zero to do with the plot, but it was putting me in the mood of that story for some reason lmaoo.

Okay, so my answer ended up being long winded af, sorry 😂 I should’ve just stuck to my original answer of anything. But, I’ll wrap it up by saying I love music, and I encourage everyone to actually look up and listen to every song I’ve referenced in a fic, or used as a title to a fic. 30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

Hmm. I have no idea if this is what the question was looking for, but I’ve probably been most surprised by how much I’ve written, but haven’t posted/shared. You’d never know it from ao3, but I’ve worked on quite a few fics this year, but I’ve been in almost no hurry to finish them. Now compare that to last year when I finished and posted at least one fic to ao3 each month except January. Hi I’m hyper right now I just took my adderall cause I’m going to the water park in 2 hours and like I’ve had a total of 10 hours of sleep in the last two days. So I’m gonna gush about my night and my man of the month. Hi

Okay so last night I went out with my friend + nail girl Tori and her coworker Keona (I was really happy Keona joined us because she’s really cool. I like her a lot.) and like. We started at this one club and while we were getting drinks, I saw the guy who groped Tori and I a few weeks ago looking at us LOL. Then he and his buddy eventually approached us and was like “hey let’s get some shots” so the dude bought us all shots and he was acting super weird towards me and it made me feel so fucking autistic cause I don’t know how to react to like random people flirting with me when I’m sober. He kept reaching his hand out and every time I was like “what’s up?” And then he’d give me this one face and it was so confusing. God. Anyway he put my lime in my drink for me and was just acting really weird but I was too anxious to refuse the drink so I took the shot and then texted Keona that I was worried the guy put a roofie in it. She told me that she’s uncomfortable with the guys too and that she wants to get out so we grabbed Tori, Keona said super bitchy thing to them, then walked out. THEN we ran into some girls Tori knows and we told them about the guys. And they were like “we will start shit” then eventually the guys come out and start hanging out on the sidewalk and like looking at us. Then Tori and those girls started yelling at them LOOOL.

Around the same time, this guy approaches Keona and I and is like “hey so my friend is over there selling bracelets, but business is really slow tonight. If I give you $10 will you buy one from her? It’ll mean a lot to her” so then Keona and I grabbed Tori and we looked at the girl’s bracelets and I used his $10 to buy one. It was sooooo sweet of him to like do that for her. The seller was really nice too and she looked so happy when I bought it! It was such a good moment. This is the bracelet btw! Super cute

Then we went to another club and Tori ran into some woman she knows and the woman’s work friends. They let us have free white claws LMAOO. Some middle aged guy who was in the group was talking to me and like he was attractive and rich but like I remembered I was gonna snap Chase (my mixed boy monday) and say “omgggggg are you downtown!? I think I just saw you” cause he told me the other day he was gonna be busy on Saturday night and like where else would a 23 year old who lives super close to downtown do on a Saturday night. BUT. Right as I opened my to phone to take the snap, he texted me asking me what I’m doing. I told him to come to the club I was in, but he was in the club next door with this guy who was wasted and didn’t wanna leave him so I told my friends where I was going and just went to the club he was in but like it took me 20 minutes to find him cause I didn’t realize he was in the middle of the dance floor crowd. I was so pissed while looking for him but I eventually found him and then like 15 or so minutes later we went to the club Tori was at and like I was so worried that he was gonna ditch me LOL like I held in my pee cause I thought he was going to. I was also worried he was gonna think Tori’s hotter than me and ghost me aster.

Anyway we like were talking about leaving and I told him I’ll drive us to his place cause I was sober and the last drink I had was at 11:45 ish and it was 1:15 at that point. I guess Tori was sitting on a couch kinda by us and sent me this LOLLLL

Then. We eventually left and he was like “oh shit I want a hot dog” so he got himself a burrito thing from a hot dog stand and also ordered me fries ? I told him I’m not eating tonight but like he was faded and ordered them anyway. Then told me that I told him to get them for me!? When he was ordering I was talking to this gay couple and their lesbian friend and they were all so cool and funny.

Then I joined Chase in food pickup line and we were talking and stuff and I mentioned how I took my full adderall dose at 4 pm and had an energy drink so I was super on edge before coming out and he was like “yeah I found Mexican Ritalin on the floor at work” !?!!?!!??!??? also he kept talking about like how good I looked and how attracted to me he is and like how I’m the best he’s ever had and stuff and like. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

He like got his food and we sat while he ate and he was like “dude why did you get yourself those fries if you aren’t gonna eat them” he’s insane.

He kept trying make me eat the burrito but I was like “no dude I’m not eating tonight” and then he was like “wait. Are you lactose? You’re lactose! Lactose! Lactose!” cause I didn’t want the food. he kept bullying me it was so funny.

He like finally finished his burrito and then we continued walking back to my car and he started eating the fries he got and was like trying to get me to eat those too and was like “wait you don’t eat pork???” cause I didn’t want them AAUHAJQKQJWWJJWWWJWU.

He mentioned being mixed or something and like I already figured he was mixed latino cause I have a gaydar but for mixed Latinos. And I was like “dude this is gonna sound weird but what’s your race” and he told me his mom is white and his dad is Mexican LMAOOO I told him I’m basically the same and stuff.

Then like he went over to this dude and was like “hey do you want some fries” and started talking to the guy and mentioned how I’m not eating the fries cause I don’t eat pork then went “the only meat she eats is mine” cause I had made some dumb joke like that a few minutes prior and the guy gave him a fistbump. It was so corny but like funny.

We like went by freak alley I think. Or just some random alley idk then like made out again and then went to my car and he couldn’t figure out how to drink out of my water bottle and spilled a bunch of water on himself cause he didn’t know there was a straw in it?

Then we drove to his house and slept cause he was still faded. I love sleeping with him like. He’s so nice to sleep with his skin is so soft and he’s so comfortably warm AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Also I’m mad cause I didn’t take a selfie with him. Also I’m pegging him tonight.

1: "who is/are your comfort character(s)?" my sona Kaly's obv the character i lean the most into 'cause he's an idealized me, i put a lotta soul into him and try to give him a little reprieve from the troubles (often in daydreams more than just drawing) (mostly 'cause of my hesitance and slow speed lmao) and some of the comfort comes back to me from that. i've also got a gray fox, Eridani, that i rarely draw, but I've not been so nice to him lmaoo, he gotten dropped into a few more of the angsty situations. As for characters that aren't mine, i don't really fall into fanning for much enough to make them "comfort" characters, but i love big, kind, and protective types. Really liking BG3 Karlach lately lmaooo.

22: "what type of person are you?" i'm sillymaxxing, i'm the world's most whimsical yote, i'm clowning for free when i should be getting paid for it. but i'm mad low energy too. i like bein funny and talkin to people i know, it just doesn't come in spades when i'm tryin to just stay afloat much of the day. i'm optimistic much of the time, which is the opposite of how i used to be, and generally on fine self-esteem, but i still have my days. unfortunately my low energy really impacts my imaginative aspects, it makes it hard to draw often too but when i do i try to make it good!

43: "what’s your take on spicy foods?" i like it, i've just been a picky eater for a lot of my early life and never pushed out my heat tolerance far. i usually will have spicy thing or 2 only when i eat alone 'cause i'm not about to have my nose running in front of someone else lmaooo

But in more specific headcanons, I love the “raz as a young teen is a wolf boy headcanon”, Sasha having paranoid/intrusive thoughts, or any nonverbal or stimming hcs

2. My friend start posting about it. And I was like! Okay whatever! AND THEN I STARTED GETTING HHHOUNDED BY INSTAGRAM ADS FOR SMTH RELATED TO PSYCHONAUTS. AND THEN I WAS LIKE SHIT OKAY ILL WATCH A PLAYTHROUGH!! and so I watched the Holly hollowtones stream of it :-)

Aubrey is my softest mc! She is very sweet and kind but she can also be pretty shy and gets anxious easily. She is majoring in healing!!! Really enjoys her classes a lot!!

mmm Aubrey also likes baking and taking pictures. She owns different cameras and her room (both back home and at college) are full of pictures of her friends, family and small things she loves or that remind her of something. Oh and she also loves flowers!! her favorites are baby breath and orchids. Oh and she has a very good relationship with both of her parents and owns a cat!!!

Irina is the mum friend!!! She is extremely responsible (tries at least) and cares very deeply about those around her; always making sure her friends have eaten or are safe and whenever they get hurt because of her she feels responsible u.u She is also a nerd!!! loves readling, loves learning, studies a lot and wants to do well in classes!!! Irina is majoring in Ritual Magic and Potions and considering becoming a teacher or a scholar if she survives college lmao. Loves loves loves plants to the point she has a small greenhouse back home!!

Irina is super close with her mum but has some daddy issues she is trying to work through asjhaska. She can manipulate lightning, her wings are pure white and owns a pet dragon!!

Jenna is my spoiled brat!!!! very daddy’s girl!!!! Jenna is extremely smart (without the need of studying) and very cunning; loves annoying people and playing dumb to then make people look stupid. She can be cut-throat with people who hurt those she loves and lord, you don’t want her as an enemy! mmm she is majoring in Magical Technology!!!! We love a smart, educated, fashion knowledgeable and political queen!!!

Josie!!! my feral soul sucking baby!!! Just imagine the most terrible person ever and then multiply by 100 and you have Josie. I love them but they don’t have a single consideration for anyone other than like……two or three people. They are quite resentful towards the entire magical thing (mainly because they were taken out of their comfort zone and…constantly attacked). They don’t get on well with their parents but there is a special place of hate dedicated to their biological father kasjaka <3 Oh and they are majoring in Magic Theory (still super pissed they cant major in battle magic because “they are human” lmaoo)

And last but not least Nina!! My queen!!! I always struggle about what i should say about Nina because she has layers akasjaksj She seems very laid back and that nothing really bothers her; and in a way it does because she buries her feelings so deep until she becomes a time bomb lol and has very self-destructive tendencies. Would burn the world down if it means protecting those she loves!!! So she really struggles a lot with her public persona and “her real self”; she is pretty good at lying too and had commitment issues until leon (she still has some tho aksjaksja)

Before the events of the book she was considering majoring in art!! she is very talented and truly enjoys drawing and painting (and learning about art!!) but given that it wasn’t offered she went for Political science; a little because she didn’t know what to study and it was broad enough to cover multiple things but also because she is interested in the journalism side of it!!!

Nina loves her father, they are very close and have a very healthy relationship but absolutely hates Roxana and is scared of becoming like her. Oh and her cat is named Cordelia!!!

for me, i like to script surnames for all the characters HAHAH cuz it’s weird to me for them to just have first names especially if ur marrying someone and wanna change ur last name (for me, it’s Alex Mullner , Elliot Taylor, etc mine r kinda basic but obvi u can spice it up!!!)

i like to assign face claims to the villagers cuz it helps me visualize better, but again u don’t have to. i like artbreeder and pinterest for this part

speaking of pinterest, i really like making boards for different things like visuals, outfits, farm house inspo, etc u know

i like to script appearances and cool backstories LMAOO like my mom was from the Gotoro Empire (i don’t remember if this is canon but the fun thing is you can make your own rules in your reality) and so i have a strip of green hair cuz why not ?!!? personally i think it’s fun to add backstories

for me again i like to make it so the kids grow up and actually do something besides just running around and being little shits and that i can have more than two cuz we gonna get that free farm help u feel me?!!?
