Looks like there's a noise on the ground, you think. But you're not really sure, is it really noise? Or are your ears just imagining for themselves?

It's been a long time, even a little warmth of sunlight you haven't even seen, two years of being confined to a dark underground prison, all your senses and body have been worn out. Dark, cold, snake centipede insects you are also used to.

When will you be freed?

Why aren't you dead yet?

Eventually, you find yourself lying on the moldy, slurping ground. A finger can't move now, is God taking you?

The noise doesn't go away, but at this moment you don't care about it anymore. When you close your eyes, it feels like you're leaning on your mother's lap, and she sings you lullabies. There is the voice of your mother, of your father, of your brothers and sisters, it seems that you are with them.

You wake up, light creeping into the corner of your eye. Brilliant, and uncomfortable. But it's also warm and comfortable. Your head is blank, strangely enough, you don't have any memories in your head. You can't think of anything, you're so strange around, you wonder where this is, there's a lot of mixed emotions, anxiety, fear, restlessness in you,... Suddenly the door of the room opens, a woman enters and is alarmed to realize you have woken up, she is so shocked that she almost dropped the tray in her hand.

"She's awake!"

She speaks something you don't understand. You're vague, weak, but still aware enough that two people came in later, they both looked in a hurry, and seemed surprised to see you open your eyes. Who's that? Do you know them?

"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" A soft voice that you can hear, she speaks a language that you understand, you want to answer, but your throat is too weak to say something.

The owner of the voice was a woman with a gentle and beautiful face, her eyes were like beautiful purple jewels.

She looked very worried... Why?

"Hurry up and call the priest here!" Another voice, but that of the younger girl, they were the same, they both had cloud-white hair, but she had blue eyes... It was like that lake, clear and shining. She was as beautiful as an angel.

"It's going to be fine, you're safe."

You are confused, why are you here, who they are, why are you like this, so many questions in your mind.

You gaze silently out the light-filled window, your aimless eyes gazing into the distance. It's been two days since you woke up, Empress Iris – that beautiful purple-eyed woman said that you have been in a coma for almost 1 month since they found you.

The name crosses your mind, people say it's your name. You don't remember anything, your dark eyes look down at your bandaged hands, not an inch of flesh is healed right now, everywhere is full of wounds, some have become infected, some have become scars.

You are now in the Elmir Empire, a beautiful and prosperous Empire. Somehow you have been taken care of directly by the royal palace, everyone here is kind to you, even if you do not understand their language, but it seems that their words mean good. The only people you can hear are Empress Iris and Princess Aisha, who are by your side for two days today.

The gentle voice wakes you up from the train of thought, Princess Aisha, she is looking at you with worried eyes.

"How are you feeling? Does it hurt anywhere?"

You shake your head slightly, then your tired eyes can see how relieved she is to see you're okay. Anytime you see anxiety on people's faces, you realize that you are the cause of that anxiety.

"Tell me if you're uncomfortable, please! I'll handle everything."  Aisha gave you a reassuring smile, hoping to get some reaction from you. For the past two days, the priests have taken turns treating you. Your condition has improved significantly, you can eat normally and move around more. Even so, you still look empty, like a lifeless doll. Aisha hopes that after you can walk, she will take you for a walk around the palace grounds. It will certainly be very quick, the divine power of the priests will help you recover quickly.

You really can't help but feel grateful for the care and concern of everyone in the Elmir royal family, from the Empress, Princess to the servants, they are truly good people. You were sure of it after only two days of interacting with them, there really was no one who could care for another person with such incredible enthusiasm.

However, for Aisha.

To this day, Aisha can't forget the moment you were taken back to the palace, you almost stopped breathing, disheveled... and couldn't have looked more horrible. They can't imagine what you've been through, your body is full of wounds big and small, sickness and skin diseases. Anyone who saw your condition was dumbfounded, there were no words that could describe you then. They wonder if the people who make you like this are still human.

So cruel.

So evil.

Why would they treat a human being like that?

Even if you don't know them, their hearts won't allow them to leave you alone. Luckily, they narrowly saved your life.

Aisha finishes her flashbacks, she looks up at you, seeing your eyes staring at her startles her.

"W-what's wrong?"

You look at her intently, after a while, you open your mouth slightly, but then you stop. You feel like you want to say something to her. But somehow, you want to say something. You become confused, struggling to find a way to express your thoughts.

"You want to say something?"

Seeing that she understood, you quickly nodded. Aisha thought, then quickly ran out of the room, you looked at her puzzledly, Aisha came back very quickly, in her hand were a few sheets of paper with a pen and ink.

"We can communicate this way, if you can't already speak" Princess Aisha certainly couldn't hide her joy knowing you wanted to talk, because probably from the moment you woke up, apart from nodding or shaking your head to express your best friend's thoughts, you didn't express anything that sounded like you wanted to talk. Aisha is really curious what you want to say to her.

When you pick up the paper and pen from Aisha, you pause for a moment, then start writing something. Your hands trembling, the black letters trembling on the paper, the Princess stares at you intently, waiting for what you are writing. After you stop, you slowly hold up the paper in front of her, Aisha narrows her eyes, trying to see your indistinct zigzag handwriting clearly.

"Thank you"

"For was... take care of you?" Aisha looked up at you, meeting your expectant gaze. When you nod, she knows she's read exactly what you want to say.

Before she could say anything more, Aisha saw you start writing on paper, looking urgent and hurried, as if you were afraid you'd miss the time to speak your mind.

"Once I'm well, I'll leave right away."

As she read those words, Aisha frowned slightly.

"Why? Where are you going?" She asks you, leaving you momentarily confused.

"Go Home"

Go home.

That's what you want, even if there is no memory of your so-called 'home' in your mind.

Aisha can't help but be surprised, because since you regained consciousness from that coma, no one has told you about your hometown, maybe 'home' is not something you would think about now. But now, you tell her you want to go home. How can Aisha tell you that your home is now a ruin?

"(Y/n), you can only stay in Elmir for now..."

When the Princess says that, you look confused, your eyes on her waiting for an explanation.

"Well... You see, your health is still unstable, right?"

"Staying in Elmir will give you time to recuperate, and I and everyone will take care of you."

But yeah, Valentino thought Vox had it in the bag--now he believes that Alastor doesn't deserve death, but should be someone's bitch for eternity (he should have been Vox's, but seeing how the deer acts with Vox's stuff, he would probably like that). Velvette doesn't know what to think. She misses Vox terribly, and hates Alastor, and is very upset with Valentino for not going to Vox's distress call--she definitely would have gone, but wouldn't have made it in time as her true demon form doesn't have flight. Velvette basically did most of the work for all 3 sectors of the Vees while Alastor was punishing Valentino and Valentino's souls, and becomes friends with Niffty during those first 4 years. Once Alastor takes back the reigns and Val gets back to work, Velvette goes back to what she used to do too. Like things are mostly unchanged for her. (Mostly because she befriended Niffty and eventually Rosie. Her doing that saved her)

As for Vox's sector? His giant monitor room is clean by Niffty and is visited by Alastor once or twice a month, where Alastor ponders what Vox exactly did in the room. His office has been taken over by Alastor, his last ideas and drawings framed and safely kept in Alastor's bayou space. Vox's contracted souls continued to work for Voxtech...until a day after Alastor realized Vox was back, and that's when Vox gently pulled on their chains and called them to him. (Not like there was many left. Alastor did actually land a killing blow. Vox had to use some of his contracted souls to heal himself, destroying them in the process. But Vox lived, and that's what matters.)

Alastor does say I love you to the head he sleeps with in his bed! Also, I'm sorry, and I didn't mean too, and please come back to me. I'll be better. I'll never hurt you again, my love.

Vox does have PTSD. It's so bad that he has to take relaxation meds to go to the overlord meeting (since it's required for both allied overlords to show now) and Alastor will definitely be there, with his ally Rosie. It's fine though he has Husk.

ough i can imagine husk just like standing protectively in front of vox during the meetings or something, like if rosie tries to get close to him or something he tells her firmly to leave because even though they were friends, vox cant even look her in the eye anymore because in his eyes, she *knew* what al did and still stayed by his side. she knew he killed vox and probably condoned it, and she'd probably help him do it all over again if they could- or at least that's what he thinks, but she really is just trying to get close to him again and cant understand why he's pulling back so hard. and the image of al trying to approach vox after a meeting or something only to be met with val and vels interference as husk takes vox and flies him back to the hotel- valvel get punished severely afterward for keeping them apart, obviously, but theyd do *anything* to keep vox safe especially because last time, when they didnt do enough, he almost died forever

A gentle knock on the door startled Jun awake. You were standing in the doorway, looking apologetic as the blonde scrambled to sit up.

"Did I wake you up?" You asked in a soft voice, careful not to be loud. His wounds were getting better but you never know if he might be sensitive to loud noises, considering how he was just startled.

"No, I was just thinking," Jun flushed, embarrassed that he had actually dozed off for a few minutes while thinking. "I wasn't asleep!"

"Sure," you indulged in his lie and just smiled to yourself. "Can I come in?"

"Of course!" Jun hastened to reply, gesturing to the seat Gang had vacated a day before. No one else had dropped by after he had gone to talk to Mr. Baek and while the quiet was peaceful and good for recovery, it was very uncommon when around the students of Baek Suryong. "If you don't mind me asking… where is everyone?"

"There's been… a situation," you said as you sat down. "You don't need to worry about it. You should focus on your recovery."

Jun paused. It clearly wasn't something minor. You looked a little upset while talking about it and he didn't like seeing you like that. It made him uneasy. But you didn't want to speak about it so he wouldn't pry too much.

"Is everyone taking care of the situation then?" He asked carefully. You just nodded. "Then… how come you didn't go with them?"

"Oh!" Your cheeks tinted a light pink at that, and you looked down at the bowl of medicine you had held in your hands the whole time. "I… I thought someone should stay back to check on you. Not, not that you need it! I was just, worried, I guess, and I trust Mr. Baek to handle the other problem so I thought I could stay back and make sure you're healing properly– sorry! I'm rambling."

You squeezed your eyes shut, and Jun noted how your fingers were practically digging into the bowl. You looked nervous and embarrassed for some reason. He should say something to make you comfortable…

"I appreciate it," he settled on those words after thinking for a few seconds. You opened your eyes and peeked at him curiously. "Thank you for staying behind for me. Is that the same medicine from yesterday?"

"Yeah," you held it out to him. Jun reached out to take it and his hand gently wrapped around the bowl, overlapping on your fingers. The innocent touch made both of you flush and you practically pushed the bowl into his hands. Snapping your hands back to yourself, you just said a quick, "There is some more left for tomorrow as well."

"Right."

Jun stared down at his reflection in the murky colours, swallowing down the lump in his throat. He could still taste the bitterness of it from yesterday.

"I almost forgot!"

Your sudden exclamation made him look up. He watched as you drew something from your pockets and held it out to him. In your hands were a few pieces of… candy?

"I heard from Gang that you were complaining about the bitterness," you explained.

"I wasn't complaining!" Jun felt embarrassed. That Gang was really destroying his image in front of you! You giggled at his defensive retort.

"So I thought you might like some candy after it," you finished with a warm smile. The sight of it was enough to make Jun's heart throb a little faster and louder and he hurried to down the medicine so you wouldn't notice his rapidly reddening cheeks. You always got his insides wrecking so easily. "Woah there, slow down. There's no rush."

Jun dropped the empty bowl on his lap, face scrunched lightly from the bitterness. He took one of the candies you were offering and popped it into his mouth, the sweetness helping to smooth over the aftertaste.

"Good?" You tilted your head in question.

"Mm," Jun gave you a small smile of his own. He watched your eyes crinkle as you returned it with your own sweet smile. "Thank you for the candy. It was exactly what I needed."

"I'll make some more for you next time," you promised, placing the remaining next to his bed. Jun looked at you in surprise.

"You made the candy?" He watched a light flush crawl across the tip of your ears and down your neck.

"I like making candy once in a while," you shrugged. "It was the only one I had on me at the moment… I hope it didn't taste weird!"

"No, it was really good," he smiled at you. Inside, his heart was beating too fast again. He got to eat your own handmade candy?! Lucky! "When you say next time… How long will I have to wait?"

You paused and looked at him with wide eyes. He had said it a little teasingly but you seemed to have taken it seriously. Before Jun could correct it, your lips curled into a smile.

"Maybe until Valentine's?"

   "Kokushibo!" You called. It was a nice spring day, the Sakura were just starting to bloom again. The air had a sweet smell to it and the quite buzz of bugs was creating an atmosphere. His head slightly turning to look at you. You always followed him around. He told you many times to not follow him around because it was dangerous. Still, you followed him.

    "What do you need?" He asked. He never really cared for the fact you wanted to be his wife. He more or less ignored that fact. You've tried to put your life on the line countless times. Yet to him, it was just an inconvenience.

    "Please, just let me be your wife. I promise I'll take good care of you." You pleaded. He said nothing, and not even really taking note of the fact you just asked him that question. The question of being stuck together for the rest of your lives. It was something you were sure you wanted to spend it with him. Now, it was for his turn to answer.

    "Please?" You cried. "If it's not to much. I'd make sure you got what you needed, I'd make sure you have love and affection everyday."

    "I don't need that." He spoke calmly. "And why do you insist on following me. I don't need anyone to be right next to me and by my side constantly. Therefore, I don't need a wife."

    It was true he was a demon slayer, that job required the ability to move around quickly. You knew this because you were one. Really all you wanted was to stay with him. You felt like he really was the one for you.

    You two stared to walk into a forest that was full of thick and beautiful trees. So thick you could barely see the daylight of spring. The branches just touching the top of your head. It was quite but it was concerning with how much it was. The breeze wasn't a breeze anymore, it wasn't there.

    You both saw something move in the distance. Something big and most defiantly not a woodland animal. It was a demon. It had to have been. Kokushibo drew his sword as soon as possible, you following close at hand. You tried running to the demon first. You could prove to him you were strong and could protect him. Right?

    "Wait! That's a bad idea!" He yelled to you. You turned to look at him with a smile. "It's ok I got i-" you were close to finishing the sentence until you got hit. It wasn't fatile or a major injury, but it sure hurt like hell.

    Kokushibo, being calm and cool, he was able to easily kill the demon in a single hit. He went over to you were alright.

    "You ok?" He asked

    "Yeah, I'm fine, just a few bandages and it should heal in time." You whimpered. "Look, that really didn't look all the good for me on my part, I all ready know that. But, trust me I can take care of you and help you. I promise to be with you every step of the way. Please just say you'll be there too." You pleaded with desperation in your eyes.

    He simply looked at you, his eyes and mouth said nothing in response. He just handed you some bandages, got up and left. There was nothing you could do about it. You were to hurt to stand at this point.

    Turns out the wound was worse than what you thought. You couldn't move, you stayed there overnight. You couldn't find anything to eat or drink. You stayed there like that for days. You were on the brink of death. Yet, it felt like something saved you. Something that was healing your wound.

    That something, or someone, was you becoming what you swore to destroy.  A demon. You could now stand at this point, you walk, talk, hell you felt like you could do anything at this point.

    This feeling stayed this way, for years and years to come. In those same years, you never saw Kokushibo. In those years you realized, maybe he wasn't a good choice for a husband. Your last moments together was when you were in need and he just left you, barely even helping. You dicided if you ever saw him, you wouldn't ask to be his wife, you wouldn't even help him if he needed it.

    "Y/N." Was all you heard in a familiar voice. You turned to see. It was someone you never thought to see again. It was him. He didn't look like how he used to. He was obliviously a demon now, with six eyes and, he was even part of the Twelve Kizuki. You didn't know what to say or how to act.

    "Y/N, I'm sorry, for the way I acted and treated you. Please let me repay you in being your husband." He spoke with disappointment in his voice. But not at you, oh no, not at you at all. He was disappointed in himself.

    "This is your way of forgiving me?" You said. "This? Something you could have done so long ago. I asked you so many times, yet you say it now? It's pathetic honestly. I chased you around, telling you how much I could help, I chased you around telling you that we could be there for each other. Well, I guess we can't because you never said we could." You spat.

    "If you really care for me, than leave."

And just like the last time you two saw each other. He just looked at you. The only thing to change, was you weren't the one left hurt.

Aaaa, I’m really wishing I could write the fic with Lich!Jin-woo and when he’s wondering whether or not he can trust Ashborn and remembering when he awakened, how overwhelming his Dad’s power felt (he doesn’t know what level his Dad was, he vanished before there was testing equipment), but it wasn’t scary at all: of course his Dad was that strong, and how his Dad had promised he would beat whoever was making the dungeons appear and Jin-woo would never have to fight...

But despite all that power, he lost his dad. Losing Ashborn is a possibility.

In the manhwa, Jin-woo is just helplessly pushed into becoming a killer, he’s like ‘it’s kill or die there’s nothing I can do about this’ and just tamely goes along with this, accepting it as the way things are.

Versus in this fic, a Jin-woo who is obvs going to be taught to fight bc Ashborn and Ignis come from a War World, but they’re thinking backline with dodgetanking capabilities but Jin-woo going ‘I want to stab things.’

Jin-woo was forced into fighting by his socio-economic situation and then by the system. He doesn’t have the option of not fighting bc the situation sucks, but... I want to give him the agency and... realization that his life matters to people enough to realize that being protected is even an option, because if you don’t have the right to say no then saying yes is meaningless. He has to have the option to be protected in order to actively make the choice to protect/fight.

Like... Solo Leveling is supposed to be a power fantasy, but when you look at it, it’s kind of amazing how little power over what happens to him Sung Jin-woo actually has. He rarely is in situations where he gets to make actual meaningful choices: a lot of situations where people act like he’s choosing something, he’s just continuing the route he got locked in on by the system or his choice to subordinate his own survival and well-being to his family.

On the rare occasion that Sung Jin-woo actually has a choice about something where he needs to weigh options instead of being locked into a predetermined route by the system and/or the things he regards as more important than his life or his wishes, (he points out several times that at his power level any single source of money/bit of income is basically monopoly money for how little meaning it has), the universe immediately punishes him for it.

Sung Jin-woo regards himself as a pawn on the chessboard earmarked for a sacrifice play from the beginning and that never changes.

Lich!Jinwoo... with his mother healed and a powerful male protector in his life again, he’s basically back where he was before his father vanished and it all went to hell. He has the chance to be a kid again, to be happy again, to get an education and spend time on things that are just for fun. And that’s what would make his mother happy, that’s what would make Jin-ah happy, that’s what his father fought to give him. It’s what his family wants.

So Sung Jin-woo would, for the first time in years, be doing what he wants to do, if he told all of them no. ‘No, I want to fight.’

It’s significant that Sung Jin-woo loses the emotion of anger, because ‘anger’ comes from the knowledge that what is being done to you is wrong. There is a quote re ‘your anger is the part of you that loves you and knows you deserve better than this and is willing to fight to give it to you.’ Sung Jin-woo not getting angry about the plan to possess him is basically ‘it’s not a big deal to destroy me, I’m worthless anyway so it doesn’t matter.’

I Got Married To A Villain - My rant

The name of the manhwa is “I Got Married To A Villain”, there’s a sinpose:

“I witnessed the novel's villain murdering someone - and even got caught witnessing it! I can practically hear the bell signalling the end of my life ringing. However, what he gave me was... "Marry me." A ring. One with a huge gem at that! What's going on here?! Is this not better than dying, My Lady? Let's get married. My newly-wed life with the villainous lead begins now!”

Okay, so, let’s take several sits as I talk about why I’m doing this post and what bothered me enough to make me go in this rant.

First and foremost, before I get into details, lemme ask something to our Female Lead....... *deep breath* WHY, IN FRESH HELL, WOULD YOU BE AFRAID OF THE "VILLAIN"/MALE LEAD IF YOU CANNOT FUCKING DIE?

So, our Female Lead have healing powers, apparently, that only people blessing by the gods and that are descendents of the first empress can have.

She. Healed. Her. Head. That. Was. Severed. From. Her. Neck. By. A. Sword. With. Her. Powers.

So I ask!

WHAT THE MALE LEAD IS FUCKING GONNA DO WITH YOU WHEN YOU POWERS MAKE YOU SURVIVE BEING DECAPITATED?

Okay. She was like, but if I became that "lugatic/sadistic/villain" ally, he's probably gonna turn on me at some point, he's gonna destroy any chance I have of freedom if I marry him.

And I can understand that thought.

Because all her issues with the male lead comes from a flawed perception that she has that HE IS GONNA KILL HER, however, hear me out, darling, HOW HE'S GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU IF, and I cannot stress this enough, YOU HAVE DIVINE HEALING POWERS THAT ARE SO HARDCORE THAT YOU CAN FUCKING COME BACK FROM NEARLY DEATH?

I think he remembers you from another life and actually let you live, but the only solution he found to keep you alive is forcing you to marry him cuz maybe the emperor that is also a crazy asshole would demand of him to kill you, since, you know, you saw him killing someone because the emperor asked him to. But noooooo. Let's not be rational about it. Let's think that he would actually marry you first AND THEN dispose of you, dumbfuckingass.

Honestly thou, why would him marry you first, against you will, AND JUST THEN kill you, when HE DOESN'T HAVE TO MARRY YOU TO KILL YOU? HE COULD'VE JUST DISPOSE OF YOU FROM THE JUMP!!!! HELLO?????

You could ask me if the male lead is only trying to marry her because of that power, but no. He had no idea. They found out about her powers when he already "proposed" and I am using "proposed" very loosely.

But the point is: the current empress already know that she has healing powers and now is after her power and the only person that can keep the empress in check and actually protect her is the male lead - I mean, of course. 

Which makes me land into another point.

so true 😔😔😔 there were so many ways to make the story more interesting but it’s always the shitty crown prince 😔 also if they rlly needed a romance the knight was good hell even raphael!!! he was so cool!!! but i wanted the people who traumatized her to suffer :/

They think girls only want angsty rich guys with power, thus the endgame is almost always gonna be the crown prince or a duke with mommy-daddy-issues (or dead ex issues in the case of Shadow Queen I guess). Unfortunately no money in the world can fix the trauma caused by their abusive husbands. I just wish it wouldn't get brushed away so easily. I understand that people go all the time back to their toxic exes and I think it could have been interesting from a psychological standpoint, but if they really wanted to go this route they should have despicted it as trauma bonding.

I don't like how common this trope in isekais is where the love interest or the family of the heroine only abused her because they were poisoned or under the magic spell of a demon, because to me it suggests that it's never their fault, it suggests that abusers always have a good reason why they abuse u and if you are forgiving and kind-hearted and just try hard enough you can find the reason and heal them, which is total nonsense btw. Sometimes awful people are just awful people.

The Abandoned Empress could have been so good if it was a story about a survivor letting go of her toxic ex and pursuing her own happiness. Or getting her revenge. I have never seen an Isekai were the heroine overthrows the crown prince and makes him suffer in return. The author really missed the chance to create a groundbreaking manhwa.

The perfect revenge would be Ruvelis watching how he slowly loses everything to Carsein, not because Carsein takes it from him but because Tia chooses to give it to him: the throne, the support of house Monique, her trust and her love. Cause he's the better man. And everything Ruve could have had plays out in front of him.

Another scenario I would like to see in fanfics is where Aristia does a coup. Imagine Ruve laying on the ground dying and calling her name, but Tia doesn't even bother to turn around and just walks away from him. That's how much he'd be worth to her. Not even a single glance.

Or he confesses his love to her and for a moment she's silent and then stares at him and says something along the lines of "I loved you once but not anymore". Basically she's rubbing it in his face that he was the one who destroyed their future together.

1. Blood Bank

this was the first one i read and MAN. i like how in the beginning there was no relationship whatsoever but because Shell had power, he was able to use it and see One whenever he felt, at first, Shell was almost like a sugar daddy trying to use that to win One over. but over time, they developed a genuine relationship that was unbreakable and brought them back to each other in the end so they would receive their own happily ever after that they Definitely deserved.

2. bj Alex

the basis of the story was good. i liked the growth of Jiwon throughout the entire story. watching Jiwon accept and move forward from his past trauma was therapeutic and so wholesome. it would probably be my favorite aspect of the series. however, i wanted to punch Dong-gyun Real hard in the beginning because of how he thirsted of Jiwon, but i think that factor is what made him so realistic. he was nearly obsessed with this idea he had of Jiwon and we got to see that idea destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. one another note, i really liked the side story with MD and Chanwoo. it was subtle enough not to overtake the main plot, but present enough o make an impact. now, though, in the side story i want to murder Chanwoo because he’s taking MD for granted. anyways, overall, bj Alex is a very good story. i also quite liked that it was drawn in black and white and the important parts were in color.

3. Make Me Bark

Make Me Bark was very cute. different than my usual tastes, but definitely a good, quick read. i like how Sungjoon was having nothing go his way but Hyo-in kinda swooped in and knocked him off his feet. although, i do wish that we got to know a little more about Hyo-in. i feel like i know so little about him.

i liked the overall concept quite a lot actually. i think the author did a decent job in proving that there doesn’t have to be a good person, or a hero, in a story and that both sides can essentially be villains in their own respect. parts of me wished that Sangwoo and Jaehyun worked out in the end, but i know their relationship didn’t have a solid foundation whatsoever. i don’t want to say the end was fitting for Jaehyun, but he definitely got knocked off his high horse.

5. Walk on Water

one of my absolute favorites. this story takes you on so many twists and turns emotionally. the author has beautiful art and an incredible story including growth for both McQueen and Yeowoon. i can’t talk enough about how much i like it. it starts with Ed, who’s later revealed to actually be name Yeowoon, trying to find another source of income to pay off debt that his grandfather accrued. he stumbled upon this gay porn website owned by Glen McQueen and decided to give it a shot, despite not being gay. from then on a shaky string of hookups to hide true feelings ensues until McQueen and Ed finally reveal their real emotions. they begin dating and one would think that’s it, things are fine. but instead, things all start going wrong and Ed and McQueen get in a huge nasty fight in which they both end up regretting but Ed can’t bring himself to be the bigger man and apologize. he starts finding himself in less and less fortunate situations, but currently things are starting to take a turn for the better as he and McQueen have apologized and are talking in hopes of eventually creating a new relationship that will not lead to the hurt they experienced before.

6. BL Motel

in this story i liked watching Jinwon and Byul’s relationship grow. you get to see them develop feelings and not tell each other despite how obvious it is. you also get to see Byul struggle with he and his brother’s relationship and how it had been flawed from the beginning. it showed Jinwon helping him and letting him finally resolve the situation so now they are on better terms and healing and finding proper love. i liked that a lot. my one thing that bothers me though, is that a lot of the character designs are similar so i get super confused on who is who. it’s a little disorganized in that sense which can make it a bit hard to read. otherwise, it’s a great story.

7. Dear Door

i love the art style for this story. it goes from sophisticated and attractive to cute doodles in seconds and i like the laid back approach to storytelling. in this universe demons can use people as “doors” between the human realm and Hell, which is how Cain, a demon, and Gyeong Joon, a human police officer. Cain begins to use Gyeong Joon as his door and they develop an interesting type of relationship that still has a lot of room for growth. it’s still very early on for this story but i look forward to updates.

8. Love or Hate

another favorite of mine. first, the art style is incredible and the character designs are so good. plus, the story is well structured. in this story you witness Haesoo conflicted between two people, his long time hookup Joowon, who he had known for ten years and had immense history with, and Taekyung, a photographer who he met through his job and funny enough, resembles Joowon’s actions. the story shows the damage of toxic relationships and how vulnerable people become when they’re in love with another person and when all they want is them. the characters, Haesoo especially, are so well thought out and complex and it adds so much flavor to the already good story. i heavily anticipate season 3 and know i’m in for a rollercoaster.

9. Back to School

hear me out, by no means am i saying i didn’t like Back to School. what i am saying is i think there was potential for so much more. the ending was abrupt and left me with too many unanswered questions. i also thought the writing was a bit inconsistent towards the end. anyways, the concept was good. Cha Chiwoo left school because of a traumatic event and went back after taking his time off to finish and get his diploma. there he met Ki Kyujin, the class president, who tried befriending him despite the rumors that surrounded him. later on he reconnects with someone from his past, Song Jihyun, his ex best friend and the reason he left school in the first place. now, Jihyun decides to finish school and they’re all in the same class. throughout the story we got to unlock more of Chiwoo and Jihyun’s history, which was a factor i enjoyed. however, at the end, after Jihyun left, i think there should’ve been a point in the future where he comes back and he and Chiwoo actually resolve their last and can healthily move forward. i know it’s not my story, but i think something like that would’ve provided more of a resolution than Chiwoo just confessing his feelings and kissing Kyujin. i also think Jihyun was demonized more than necessary. he already had been falsely arrested for murder, he had multiple settled cases for his violent nature, and he had the major fall out with Chiwoo but in the q&a at the end the author said that Jihyun had raped Chiwoo which i don’t think matches his character. it was clear that everything he did was because he loved Chiwoo and he isn’t stupid enough to do something so cruel, or so i think.

Chapter 265 - Actually Raskreia can 100% total several Elders in the Union at once so shut your mouth Crombel. Maybe anime Raskreia can't but manhwa Raskreia can and if you dare shit talk my queen for anything aside from her questionable and bad political choices I will get mad.

- I just think that maybe Raizel would heal better if he got a nice pillow and blanket and and stuffed toys in his coffin while he slept.

- Zarga!! Lunark! The start of the arc that breaks me emotionally everytime! And I guess 8th is there too. Whatever.

- Lunark with black hair was at least pretty, why did they do Zarga so dirty by making him look like a corpse 😭

- Zarga is so polite to the KSA like yeah he's not a nice guy or anything but he's not being rude like Lunark. He's actually in the 'has diplomacy' category like Roctis and Rostere. Love him. The stuff he says to Seira doesn't negate this btw, at that point diplomacy is irrelevant since they're here specifically for fighting.

- Ah yes the reminder that Lunark views humans as bugs and inferior. She also straight up destroys a building in a highly populated area to attract the household. It's really something... I wish this had been explored more in depth instead of her pretty much becoming a good guy after. Like having her respect the humans in the household because of their strength and courage or whatever but still is rude to the KSA when she goes to them later in canon or if she met the kids and thought of them as being inferior and treated them accordingly.

- Kalvin!!! My gremlin baby!!! God I always forget about his deep eyebags... Let the boy sleep you child slavers!

Chapter 266 - And then 8th also goes ahead and fucks around... You see that Lunark and 8th talk to each other while Zarga stays quiet and to me it seems like the conversation in the previous chapter where the three Elders are standing over the city and shitting on humans is likely between those two. If Zarga does contribute it's probably the lines about how humans have advanced so much but I doubt even that if I'm being honest. He definitely isn't talking and it's 8th who is when it comes to questioning how to attract the nobles they think are present since he'd obviously know. I don't think it's intentional or anything but I do think it could have been a very good way to show how even the traitor nobles still unconsciously uphold many noble ideals or display common noble traits if this had been consistent.

- Zarga being as strong as Roctis or simply compared to him as both being clan leaders is so interesting because 9th and Roctis say that while both obviously being aware of Roctis' modifications. That means Zarga is as powerful without having gone through any of that and I for one think that's very praxis of him. Urokai, Zarga, Lunark, and Kentas are the squad who are killing it lmao. Otoh they think that Lunark and Zarga can't be defeated but don't say the same for 8th ajsjjsks. 9th is just all "yeah I created him but he's gonna lose <3".

- This is what I think is Zarga's first line after the KSA lol. "Impossible. They'll come." 8th even goes "if you say so 7th Elder" despite it being obvious it couldn't be anyone else who said that lol. Plus Zarga just goes "..." alot so. Of course this is just all guesses and it's not possible to know who said what unless the the novelisation by the author before it was made into a manhwa came this far. Doubt it though.

- This alternate translation is killing me... Loyardian? Really? What is she an alien? I'm alternating between sites and even webtoon to look at the different translations but this is killing me. EGscans my beloved... at least you don't do this bs. The one translation that also doesn't mess up the flashback in chapter 259 in regards to Rousare.

- Love how he goes "silver hair but not Gechutel so it's a Loyard". I'm glad that you do have a brain.

- No but why does Zarga just go "Hi I killed your father" like??? The only two reasons I can think of are that he feels guilty or he just straight up didn't do it like??? Or does he just not have any other topics to talk about "uh what do we have in common hmm we're both nobles and clan leaders and aha! I killed her father perfect conversation starter 😃". Honestly the reason I'm not able to accept it is because he also has such a bullshit reason for being a traitor like he feels more like that kid in a drama whos only there because it's mandatory and thus everything is stilted 😭 Because if he actually did do it then why would he say all that since he obviously doesn't have strong emotions about jack shit unless he's stupid except we know he's not so yeah I think Roctis just told him to say he was behind the massacre because wtf else is Zarga even doing with his life? He's just a kindergarten teacher who ignores his Union job and leaves Urokai with all his work bye. You could say he did it to provoke her and he did! But like... that's not proof he did it. He's not sadistic or cruel (as much as that can be said for whoever is the bad guy atm) so that's not it either. It's like the author just wanted to insert that piece of information but didn't know how to do it except by making Zarga generic villain 58 so he just gave up.

Chapter 267 - More of him mocking her father?? Literally why. It is funny that he's all "You and your fathers are babies to me. Now prepare to die." Like okay bro. Ignoring canon and pretending he's saying all this to maintain the facade of a Union Elder and a bad guy when he's actually just been accompanying Urokai the person he cares for most makes me feel better lol. In a "okay this makes sense" way not a happy way because in that scenario it's sad because he's not actually a bad person. Not good perhaps, but not bad, and he would actually be upset about fighting a kid which is also why he'd be saying all that to try and pretend he is that bad a person.

- Grim reaper!! Also Lunark's astounded face combined with 8th's previous comment when Seira uses Death Scythe means she's probably not actually witnessed soul weapons at all before this.

- Lontrick, the best soul weapon my god. I love it so much like imagining the versatility of the different forms it could take for different clan leaders? Liliana and Pravuils especially are impressive since they utilise it 24/7 as a defence and traps system that simply seems like a part of the building. Like chains? Yeah sure it's just part of the pulley system no biggie. Baldr meanwhile has heavy symbolism with it because the chains are utilised heavily to imprison to match his role as the ethereal angel like figure he appears to be. Also they all can probably use it as an anchor lmao.

- I really don't understand why they kept on colouring Lunark's hair black since she was obviously intended to have her brown hair from the beginning.

Chapter 268 - Lunark... I don't think you can criticise 8th on his manners for interfering...

- Once again... did anyone even have any trust in him??? He just stands there doing nothing. When he does do something it's with Urokai. Trust in what? Tbf ig Seira doesn't know any of that but it's still funny.

- Another comment about her father to purposely provoke her... Gppd strayegy on his part but once again, literally what does Zarga have against Lukedonia? And no his "my ideals,,, have changed,,," doesn't count. Literally just makes me think of Delta from Zero Escape with "My motives are complex".

- No but like Zarga specifically just goes "..." when she isn't provoked so that really does make me ignore canon more since it can be used for so much more depth. - God Lontrick is just, such an amazing weapon. I truly don't think any other weapon in Noblesse is as beautiful.

Chapter 269 - ONCE AGAIN TO BE OLD ENOUGH TO BE SEIRA'S GRANDPARENT CANONICALLY YOU ONLY NEED TO BE 617 IN PRESENT DAY. Literally every noble except Rael and Regis qualify. And since her father would have been a minimum of 700 if still alive, he would have been at least 483 when having her which means that he himself could have been her grandfather if he'd essentially had a kid at like 200 like how some ppl have kids at 18 or 20 or whatever. This point of Zarga being old is simply irrelevant because nobles are such a long lived species!

- Frankenstein you've probably seen him like maybe five times and talked to him once how do you know what Zarga is like.

- They keep on underestimating the young clan leaders and thinking about it they probably got their information from Roctis, Urokai, and Zarga, aka the dragon clan leaders, and I never envisioned any of the three to really be fighters. Roctis would dislike violence, Urokai was a crybaby, and Zarga though naturally skilled and talented simply wasn't interested. So maybe it's just because they weren't fighting as kids and teens lmao.

- Ah yes the cloning jutsu we all know it Rajak. The trick is to use an aoe skill to deal with it, dontcha know?

Chapter 271 - Kaaalviiiiiiin 🥺

- The fact that they could have added the trio troubled over Kalvin being a kid in the Union because they themselves work at a school to protect children but they didn't and simply treated him like any other Union bastard... hate it.

- Soul weapons not being 'complete' is dumb and makes no sense. Like if they're not complete because one previous gen clan leader isn't in it then they're never actually ever complete. There is like 0 logic. I also think a soul weapon being like a werewolf's claws is a dumb comparison like soul weapon aren't a natural part of nobles.

- Yeah see? Lunark is a hypocrite. Complains about others interfering but does it herself because it's 'necessary' as if that makes her justified compared to just doing it for fun. Just be like Zarga and let people die queen. Same for Frankenstein since he just kills 8th Elder instead of letting Rajak do it but criticised Zarga for the exact same thing.

Chapter 272 - The red lipstick on Lunark is hideous.

- Lunark's tongue flick 🥺 Hilarious if you imagine she's trying to lick Dark Spear though ansjjs. Even funnier if you then think of Dark Spear retracting in the equivalent of ewww

- Her hair getting super long and her shirt mysteriously gone for her transformation,,, lol

Chapter 273 - At least Kalvin's allowed to read comics and watch movies. It'd be even sadder if he didn't know much about them.

- Rael... please stop being such a creep. Turning up just because Yuri mentioned Seira... Truly Seira attracts blond creeps. Like yeah I like Seuri but still.

Sidenote - I didn't mention this before but I never understood why Seira had to be told her father was dead when that obviously means she should have received Death Scythe. That's why I've always headcanoned that the reason is because although nobles aren't actually adults at 200, they're only really strong enough to handle soul weapons then and thus it's when they 'come of age'. So Seira couldn't use or sense Death Scythe simply because she hadn't grown enough. As for if one has pureblood Loyard ocs older than Seira? I'd say there's two reasons why Death Scythe would still go to her. The first and most obvious one... because her father sent it to her. He wanted her to be the heir and next clan leader so of course he wouldn't give it to anyone else even if he was on his deathbed while she's still a young child. The other reason is that maybe Death Scythe just doesn't vibe with them ya know. Maybe it thinks Seira is the most suitable in every way aside from her age.

I am watching so many animes rn its insane. I'm over half way done with fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood, which is very good. Some of the seasonal animes im watching currently are:

Tokyo revengers (my fav right now), my hero (obvs), life lessons with uramichi oniisan, the Duke of death and his maid, fena pirate princess, case study of vanitas (very hot and sexy), re-main, kageki shojo, and aqua trope on white sand.

There are a few others that I don't know if I'd recommend yet. If you want a list of my top 50 or something I can share it too 👀 but my number one is haikyuu 🥰

I really dislike uraraka BUT before people cancel me please hear my trauma. I read this amazing fic by @/callmemrsbakugou where bakugou cheated on you with his ex uraraka. And when I tell you that it broke me... it BROKE me. I can't even think about it too long without breaking again. I cried so much and my heart still isn't healed. It was one of the first large fics I'd ever read and it just scared me I think. So yeah I can't really appreciate uraraka because she destroyed my perfect life and stole my fiance 😭😭
