So like, why do you ship Laios and Chillchuck? This isn't anon hate it's just a ship i never really thought about and now I'm curios and I like hearing people rant about their blorbos
for many reasons! but let's start at the beginning, shall we?
i didn't know dungeon meshi existed until early february. i'd seen some media for it in the past, but didn't know any of it was related nor was i interested enough to dig further.
the very first fanart i ever saw for dungeon meshi was this one (it was on a different site though):
i didn't know who the characters were, but the dynamic spoke to me. it reminded me of two of my partner's OCs that we've been shipping together for nearly ten years: a big buff blonde guy who loves animals and seems stupid but is just socially stunted, and a short aggressive rogue with reddish hair and brown eyes who doesn't take other people's shit and is damn good at what he does. yes, it's that specific. these are them:
Tumblr media
even without that foundation to work on, though, chilaios interested me. i love size differences and i love ships between nice guys and angry guys. that said, i mostly put it out of mind after nick's first fanart, but it posted some more not too long later which got me thinking about it again...
and by then more people were talking about dunmeshi because the anime was getting underway. i spotted chilchuck and laios in posts about the series and realized that was where they were from, and that there was an anime, as well as a manga. that was all i knew, but their dynamic was intriguing me more and more, so i told my partner about it and said chilchuck and laios reminded me of harry and jeffrey and showed him some of the fanart. neither of us tend to start new media very often (i'm significantly worse about it, it takes a lot to get me to try), but eventually i looked into the series and found that the anime was brand new (5 episodes at the time) and the manga was completed. both of those facts were ideal for trying to get into it.
we didn't start watching until the week episode 9 came out, not for lack of interest but because there just wasn't really any incentive to get a move on. by then we'd both recognized that we'd be insane about chilchuck in particular, because we love his character type and he's very, very cute. and we were right! you could practically hear the canned audience applause when he showed up onscreen the first time.
we didn't watch all 8 episodes in one sitting, but we did watch several of them, and i think it was clear to us both that chilchuck and laios absolutely had a fun dynamic. eventually we'd go on to read the entire manga, and we're fully caught up on the anime, watching the new episodes every thursday.
the basic thing i like about their sort of setup is the way laios respects chilchuck and never doubts their relationship, while chilchuck is frequently aggressive and critical but staunchly sticks around and keeps helping anyway. it says a lot about them as friends: laios isn't worried that chilchuck actually hates him, and chilchuck's actions speak louder than his words, always staying and doing the best he can even if he complains. he wants what's best for laios, even if he never says it, and laios trusts him completely.
i love that chilchuck cares even if he pretends he doesn't, and i love that laios has utmost faith in him. i love the little intricacies of their individual backstories and the ways they compare and contrast. i love the way their personalities collide, independent of their existing relationship (as in, i'd ship them even if they interacted less). i love their size difference. i love them individually, as really well-written and fascinating characters, and i love thinking of new ways to pair them together and seeing what everyone else does with them. i love chilaios!!!! it makes me very happy and they are a perfect ship for me.
Tumblr media
look at that. goddamn. the way the shot lingers. the way laios grips his hand. 10/10 effervescent would ship again

the topic is Trapper and the army as foils, you have three hours, go
In no small part the satire of Mash, particularly in the first half of the show, is tied up with gender performance.
The army represents traditional, stifling and violent masculinity. This is shown through everything from freudian jokes about guns (eg Frank and Margaret's flirtations in The Sniper or The Gun), to Margaret trying to cajole Hawkeye into performing a more traditional standard of masculinity while treating him like a soldier in Comrades in Arms Part 2, to many jokes and comments about (usually) Hawkeye not being a real man in contrast to army standards and various specific army personnel (eg Lyle in Springtime, Flagg in White Gold), to Frank and Margaret's worship of the masculinity of the army ("He's twice the man you'll ever be," re: Flagg and Hawkeye, Margaret's lust for MacArthur, Frank pursuing the sniper in The Sniper in an attempt to be a "real man" in Margaret's eyes, etc) to many jokes positioning the military as a sexually aggressive man pursuing Hawkeye ("Sure, the sun the moon the stars, your high school letterman jacket. Same deal I promised nurse Baker." "A receipt please, and promise you'll go out with other doctors," etc.)
In contrast, the main characters all fail to perform traditional gender in some way, from crossdressing to immaturity to indecisiveness to peacefulness to Margaret's masculinity and Frank's pathetic failure to live up to his own masculine ideals, to just about everything about Hawkeye. His cowardliness, his jokes about not being a real man, his jokes about taking the feminine role in sexual encounters with men and women, even multiple double entendres about his average at best penis size.
Trapper is the most traditionally masculine of the main cast. He still subverts masculinity in some subtle ways here and there, such as the occasional feminizing joke and mentions of not being in great shape, but overall he's the more butch counterpart to Hawkeye's fem. He plays the role of boxer while Hawkeye plays the role of diva in their respective manager/star roleplaying episodes. He's broader and buffer and plays football, often seen playing catch with someone while walking around the compound, while Hawkeye disdains sports and doesn't participate. He reads Field and Stream which Hawkeye derides in Alcoholics Unanimous while making a wry comment about shaving his armpits. A past lover nicknamed him Big John.
And there are many, many jokes about Hawkeye and Trapper being sexual partners. The recurring Uncle Trapper and Aunt Hawkeye gag, if my father sees this you'll have to marry me, for me? only if you put those on, your father and I will tell you what we did to have you, that's when I fell in love with him, etc etc etc. It's constant. In these jokes Hawkeye usually takes the feminine role, though not strictly every time ("Me and the missus," is one exception in As You Were, the dance in Yankee Doodle Doctor is another).
Trapper's masculinity is differentiated from traditional military masculinity in a few ways. Most obviously, Trapper abhors the military's violence. He never uses guns and mocks Frank's obsession with them, he's a healer rather than a soldier, and he's disgusted by the results of military violence on the men on his operating table.
He's also secure in himself. The military's brand of masculinity is strongly characterized by insecurity and overcompensation. Frank is the main representative of this military insecurity - a coward who insists he's brave (The Army Navy Game), a man who clings to a phallic gun to compensate for his sexual and gendered inadequacies (a main theme of The Sniper, perfectly mirrored when the army itself comes in with a vastly disproprotionately powerful automatic machine gun on a helicopter to shoot down one sixteen year old), a homophobe repressing his own attraction to men (As You Were, the original script of George), etc. We also see this in Flagg, who implicitly sublimates sexual urges into violence (seen when he suggestively caresses his gun while describing how he wants to torture a boy in Officer of the Day).
Trapper doesn't need to overcompensate. He's well-endowed physically, he's portrayed as a competent and considerate lover, he's a brave man who doesn't mind being seen as a coward, and he may or may not be attracted to men but either way he's not a homophobe (George) and he doesn't express his sexuality through violence. When Margaret proves herself stronger than him, his response is to be impressed rather than offended (Bombed). When he dances with Hawkeye for a gag, he doesn't mind letting Hawkeye lead.
He's also differentiated in terms of tradition, with the mliitary representing a more propagandic 50s traditionalism, and Trapper representing a 70s, countercultural freedom from tradition. We see this in the way Trapper has plenty of sex despite being married, while adultery is a court-martial offense in the military. It's notable that he's open and carefree about it, while Frank and Margaret are surreptitious and hypocritical in their affair. This lack of traditionalism is also shown in his disrespect for authority, often in direct contrast to Frank and Margaret's worship of it, and his allyship to George who the military would persecute for his sexuality.
So ultimately we can see that while Trapper and the military are both examples of masculine performance, Trapper's masculinity differs from the military's in being more flexible, less violent, less traditional, and more secure. The military's masculinity is far more toxic than Trapper's, particularly in the context of 70s counterculture media, which aligns womanizing with sexual liberation rather than a lack of respect for women, accurately or not.
This contributes to their respective dynamics with Hawkeye.
Hawkeye, we've established, is usually more feminine, and there are a myriad of jokes characterizing Trapper as his sexual partner, as well as the military as a sexual pursuer.
The jokes Hawkeye and Trapper make about their relationship tend towards cozy domesticity. They're Radar's "aunt and uncle," they directly roleplay marriage ("Martha, we're going to have to move, the people upstairs are impossible,") and less directly behave as though married (the bickering in Alcoholics Unanimous, the discussion about naming their pony in Life With Father). Occasionally they're treated as a healthy couple in contrast to Frank and Margaret's toxicity ("While I'm gone, promise you'll go out with other doctors," vs "Touch anyone else and I'll cut off your hands" in Aid Station).
In some instances the jokes lean towards predatory - "If you're trying to get me drunk, it'll work," or "Who is this man in bed with me?" "I followed you home from the movies," but they're always playful, always fond. If Hawkeye takes on a submissive or victimized role in these jokes, it's one he has fun with and discards just as easily in the context of the rest of his relationship with Trapper.
So, it's important to note that Hawkeye and Trapper support each other and look after each other in an equal, enthusiastic friendship. From Trapper ensuring Hawkeye gets to sleep in Doctor Pierce and Mr. Hyde, to Hawkeye supporting Trapper when he wants to adopt a child, to Trapper right at Hawkeye's side as they attempt to procure an incubator, they are there for each other every step of the way. If their relationship is a marriage in some ways, it's a healthy, strong, and non-traditional marriage, an equal and open partnership free of jealousy and insecurities.
Compare that to the military's relationship with Hawkeye. In jokes it's characterized as powerful and predatory, far from an equal partnership. Sometimes it approaches positive - in Carry on Hawkeye, much of the humour is derived from Hawkeye and Margaret's gendered role reversal as she assumes military command of the unit. Hawkeye playfully calls her sir, seductively lies on her desk like a secretary in a porn film, and most notably treats an immunization shot as sexual penetration in a prolonged gag about sexual role reversal. Hawkeye has fun playing a sexually submissive role to a representative of military authority in this episode, but it is a submissive role.
Several of the one-off jokes have a similar sensibility, such as the double entendre of "My bellybutton's been puckering and unpuckering all day," in response to a representative of MacArthur assuming their excitement over the general's arrival to the unit, or Hawkeye's "Okay, take me, I'm yours," to Colonel Flagg. They demonstrate a willingness to play the receptive role on Hawkeye's part, but they also, pointedly, disturb the object of the jokes.
When Hawkeye makes these jokes that sexualize military authority, he's attempting to be provocative as well as defiantly drawing disruptive attention to his own powerlessness as a drafted surgeon. The power dynamic between Hawkeye and the authority of the military only goes one way, and Hawkeye gets a kick out of pointing it out in ways that perturb the representatives of that authority, but it's a power dynamic that takes its toll on him.
Many of Mash's plotlines revolve around Hawkeye rebelling and attempting to seize some scrap of agency back from the military. Adam's Ribs, for example, in which he starts a mild riot over the food he's being fed and spends the episode attempting to procure barbecue ribs from Chicago (which Trapper procures for him), or Back Pay where he tries to charge the military for his forced labour. A particularly notable example is Some 38th Parallels, in which Hawkeye complains about being paid the equivalent of a nickel per operation, and his frustration manifests in impotency until he can perform a gesture of rebellion against the military.
One unfortunate consistency of these episodes is that the army ultimately retains its power. When Hawkeye achieves his goals, it's only in small ways that do little more than satisfy his own need to assert his sense of self. Often, Hawkeye doesn't achieve his goal at all, but is thwarted by the army, such as in For Want of a Boot. In every instance he remains powerless in comparison to the authority of the military.
So the context in which Hawkeye makes these sexualized jokes about the military literally fucking him is one of abject helplessness. In a sense, all he's capable of is pointing out what the military is doing and putting it in his own, audacious terms. He's not capable of preventing it. His jokes usually have an edge of bitterness to them in delivery, and when they don't, that tone is imparted anyway by the greater context.
With Trapper, Hawkeye can play-act a marriage or an assault, but in either case he's an enthusiastically consenting, equal partner. Trapper's performance of masculinity allows for Hawkeye to take any role from victim to wife to husband, and enables Trapper to respond in kind from a position of equality and respect. The military, in its insecure, domineering performance of masculinity, is a dictatorial authority, never allowing Hawkeye perform any role but a feminized, victimized one, and only ever giving him the choice of whether to perform with a wry smile or a sneer.
In short, Trapper is the cool, considerate service top to the military's insecure domineering boyfriend.
I'm tagging everyone who enabled this lol, share the blame. @beansterpie @majorbaby @professormcguire @rescue-ram

My Personal Headcanon On Why Amy's Love For Sonic Died Down Lately (and their dynamic)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they were younger, Amy's love for Sonic was pretty extreme, and Sonic was, understandable, uncomfortable for the most part. He knows she means well, but that girl needs to calm down.
She can fight, but sometimes her hammer could only stun her enemies for a while. (It took her a long time to get rid of that robot that has been chasing her around Station Square.) She wasn't fully independent yet, even if she fought on her own a couple of times.
She often follows Sonic and his friends around. She is part of the team, but she was not a strong as she is now at the time yet.
She admires Sonic. A LOT. And Sonic knows that. Obviously, he could only run away from something like that, since he is NOT ready for that kind of thing, and whether Amy takes the hint or stop, she still loves him.
...BUT, I think things were slightly starting to change between her and Sonic after Lost World.
Remember this line?
Tumblr media
You remember that? Okay, okay. Here's another totally unrelated question:
Before the events of Lost World, when was the last time Amy said "I love you" to Sonic out loud?
...YEP. 😈 (Unless I'm missing something, let me know lmao)
As more games and adventures come out, the characters get slightly older, and Amy is 12 to 13 now, and she is most certainly at that age where her body starts to change, but especially on how she views Sonic.
She knows she loves Sonic, but it was this moment during her change where she actually wanted to admit that she loves him.
I believe that Amy was all about sharing her affection to him not through confessions, but through obvious hints. Sonic totally got it, and there was no need to confess. Sonic knows she loves her.
...But she never said it. And she almost did, but she never did again for a while.
I think this was the moment in her life where, oh, God, she actually loves Sonic. SHE LOVES HIM, WHAT.
And she was looking back at all the times she had with Sonic that she can now see were unpleasant to Sonic (At least that's what she thinks) and that's probably why she isn't so expressive about her love to him than how she used to back then.
She wasn't sure what to do with this realization, and sets aside it for a while, and nearly stayed as her casual, peppy self... until the Eggman War happened.
Tumblr media
During the 6 months of being with the Resistance, fighting Eggman's army all day and all night, all she can think of was Sonic.
She dreams that he still with not just her, but with her friends. She just wanted to see Sonic again, she just wants to be with her hero again.
But I'd like to think that she was also thinking about how she used to treat Sonic back when they were younger, how Sonic would almost always run away from her whenever she asks him out, or always look so uncomfortable whenever she gets so close to him.
Cringing at those memories big time, she wanted to change and hopefully when Sonic is okay and comes back, she can be better for him.
...Or will he still find her uncomfortable regardless? Would he even be happy to see her at all if he did survive?
But, hold on! She can't just give up her love for Sonic! He made her who she is today! A peppy, nature-loving, hammer-swinging, confident, brave... loud-mouth... annoying... Sonic obsessed... weak... pathetic... lonely little girl.
If she gives up on Sonic, it'll be like she gave up on the one hedgehog who saved her life. If she didn't she'll still be the same ol' Amy.
I also like to think she had parents a long while before she met Sonic, and was even expecting a little sister, but a robot invasion happened from where she was and attacked her parents and instead of trying to save them, after getting hurt, she ran away, hoping that they'll come back okay. But they never did.
She was all alone, and needed someone, a friend, a new family, someone who will hold her hand, anyone, to be there for her. But she was ignored by lots, and at that point, she's better off by herself, but still longed for company.
Eventually though, her tarot cards told her her future hero, and there might be hope after all. She encountered Sonic, held onto the belief of the cards tight, and the rest is history.
So, with that headcanon in mind, not only did Amy loose her parents that she didn't save because of her cowardliness (she was only so little at the time that happened) and also Sonic, who she thought will be her only hope, but now gone.
She doesn't even care if he did come back, he'd probably hate her now after everything she did to him, always talking about their "future wedding" or forcing him to go to Twinkle Park.
For the last few months of the war, it was nothing but Amy mentally beating herself up for either refusing to change or moving on, and they are both not fine choices.
She loves Sonic, but he does not love her, and she finally, finally realized it. And it's probably for the best if no body loved her at all.
But of course Sonic did survive and all of her worries wash away in an instant, she's just not expressive about her love for Sonic AT ALL now, since she's still worried about it but rather not mention it to Sonic because it doesn't matter.
If Sonic doesn't love her, then her feelings don't matter to him, and according to Amy herself, that is okay.
Tumblr media
But also, I'd like to think that Sonic was thinking about his friends a lot up in the Death Egg for the past months, sometimes it's Tails (worried for his safety), sometimes it's Shadow (because he's wondering why he would join Eggman.) At some point, for a few days, Amy was in his mind the longest, and he felt bad about how he thought he was rude and pushy to her.
He wondered if she's not thinking about it too much, and if she is, will she give up on him? Yeah, he doesn't feel the same and still not looking for a relationship, but it's so strange but interesting how anyone could ever like someone like Sonic the Hedgehog. Amy was never afraid to show that, and she probably might be now.
He couldn't help but feel guilty. They were kids when she was like this, but he was so... arrogant at the time too. Not a lot happened at the time yet. He'd always have trouble expressing how much he value his friends, until he shattered the Paradox Prism. (I'd like to think Prime took place before Forces. It makes sense.)
She is such a sweet girl, and he probably made her believe that he didn't care for her. Just because he doesn't feel the same, that doesn't mean he hates her at all.
He wished he never ran away from Amy... Worrying for his little bro and wishing to be a good person for Amy was when Sonic cried in the Death Egg for the first and only time.
Tumblr media
Frontiers, in my opinion, is kind of confirming their dynamic now. Sonic is a lot more sincere and kinder to Amy and she is not all hyperactive and lovey to Sonic. There is probably a real reason for this now.
They are both hiding their feelings from them, and they are both unaware of this. Amy, hiding her mental issues from Sonic, and Sonic, hiding his guilt away from Amy.
None of those things are important now. Sonic is with Amy and Amy is with Sonic. They are here with each other. They can be finally be better for each other now.
They don't care if they'll ever be something more when they get older. None of that matters anymore. They are here with each other. They can be finally be better for each other now.
Tumblr media
Maybe someday they'll both talk about it, but for now, the present is important. They care about each other too much to think about it right now.
It's the kind of love that is unbreakable. It doesn't even have to be romantic. It's just love. Love is important for everyone, in any form. It's something Sonic and his friends need. And especially Sonic and Amy.
Amy Rose is the living embodiment of love, and without her, a lot would go downhill for Sonic and co. Heck, if it weren't for her, Shadow wouldn't have never remembered Maria's promise, which lead him to save the world with Sonic, before he temporarily disappeared from their lives for a while.
She is always there to lend a helping hand for anybody, even bad guys like Metal Sonic, and despite what she had been through, both in Forces and headcanon wise, she still fights back, even without her hammer.
She will pick you back up on your feet, reminding you that you are important and that you are loved, and that you should never give up. It's pretty much the words of encouragement she herself needed also...
She is still the happy, hyper, butt-kicking hedgehog we all know and love, but she still need someone to pick her back up on her feet after so long. Thankfully, she has her friends and her blue hero. The hero who made her who she is today.
I think Amy has no idea how important she thought she is, but Sonic does. Sonic knows fully well how important she is to a lot of people. It's about time he returns the favor to her. It's his turn to remind her how much a lot of people love her.
How much he loves her.
And I feel like The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog was the moment where their dynamic really shined, but also the starting point of their relationship not only healing, but also the next chapter of what's to come for them.
Everyone, friends old and new, gathered around for a special birthday. A birthday for the confident, unshakable, and radiant Amy Rose.
It was such a special moment in Amy's life. After years of chasing and following the people she look up to, she is part of the team, but most importantly, she is part of the family.
She is fully realized as someone more than just a fangirl, but someone strong, courageous, creative, kind and a big inspiration for others.
I feel like this moment here...
Tumblr media
-is where Amy is eternally grateful to call her friends her family. A family she thought she'll never have again. She's not alone anymore, and as long as they're by her side, she'll never will be again.
Her chasing days are over. She's finally caught up to them. She's finally home.
And it's all thanks to Sonic.
If it weren't for him, she'd probably be alone forever. Her past moments with Sonic might be embarrassing to look back on for a while, but they are good memories regardless, because they involve him.
Sonic saved her life in more ways than one, and despite everything, he's grateful to have her too.
He cares about her. He really does... And in her eyes, that all she needed to know. As long as Sonic loves her in his own way, she'll be happy.
Amy hasn't given up on Sonic. As long as Amy always supports him, he'll be happy.
Maybe sometime in the future, they can talk about their problems, but that's a story for another time. At this point, they need to. Right now, they are happy. They are okay.
They are here for each other. They are finally better for each other now.
"You guys won't ever leave me, right?"
"Wouldn't dream of it."
#piko rambles#sonic the hedgehog#amy rose#Meant to be platonic but I don't care if you tag as ship lol#I've been meaning to post something like this for the longest time now but never really got into posting it-#-because you guys REALLY hate seeing these two together for some reason.#Well not for SOME reason. There are valid reasons why you don't ship them. Everyone has valid reason why they don't ship this or that.#But sometimes those reasons can just sound so petty to me. Like the reason why is because Amy is a stalker or Sonic hates her which is FALS#Also those age gap arguments are understandable but so goddamn annoying sometimes. Maybe when they hit their late teens or early twenties-#then they can be together if they want to. Besides a good percentage of Sonic ships are better off if they waited til they're old enough im#I love them regardless of whether they're just friends or an awkward older cringe fail couple lmao#But them being just friends and hiding away all their emotions towards each other just to keep them safe and happy with them- 😭😭😭#Son/adow is my favorite ship of all time and sonamy is my favorite childhood ship/platonic ship because they both have one thing in common.#ANGST 😀#I've been thinking about Sonic and Amy's dynamic as of late and MAN-#Mixed with some personal headcanons of mine and their dynamic as of late just makes me so emotional.#Sonic and Amy have gotten so close now and it's so sweet but so heartbreaking at the same time when you think about it.#I'm so happy they are getting along better and being there for each other but there is so much to dissect here. So much to think about.#I might be a little silly but Amy losing her parents and being alone for so long and being the reason why she's always hanging onto Sonic-#-explains SOOOOOOOOO much about her. At least that's my headcanon for WHY that is.#Amy with abandonment issues speaks to me on a personal level. I'm always afraid of being forgotten or left behind by my family.#I sometimes feel like I'm not good enough no matter how hard I try. I do not blame Amy. I relate to her a lot. It's one of the many reasons#-why Amy is my favorite character besides Sonic and Shadow.#She fights hard to prove she's a valuable member of the team and hates getting left behind but despite all that she wasn't afraid to-#-express herself and her love for people. But after the Eggman War there was some changes that made her less expressive about her love.#Yeah she still loves Sonic but she doesn't admit it because none of that matters anymore and she thought that not being loved by Sonic#-is better than being loved since she nearly wasted her life loving someone who she thought has constantly bothered. 🥲#But I think after TMoStH I think she'll be less afraid of being expressive about it. She and Sonic are just so caring for each other 😭#I love these two way too much that when I think about them for too long I'll start SOBBING 😭😭 I'M EVEN SOBBING RIGHT NOW LMAO

Care to tell some facts about the ROs?
ough... i always find 'facts' asks intimidating because i'm never sure if the facts i'm producing are any good haha. hopefully these aren't too boring!
Arianis:
they enjoy gardening; they never stay in one place for long but whenever they move they have to lug around all their collection of exotic orchids and rare plants. they especially like cross-breeding orchids to create new strains (they also play music for their plants)
they dated a vampire for a while in the past (the vampire sort of considered them his thrall) but got kind of bored of it... they're less bored with being a warlock so far
if the MC chooses the travelling entertainers background, they've actually met Arianis once before in the past
Heluur:
he didn't originally have his wings; Twilit had to make them and graft them onto him, and because his unique nature is resistant to chaos and change, his body is still dealing with trying to reject them even after millennia
Twilit and Newyneth are who he would consider his "best friends;" he considers himself kind of an unofficial uncle to their children (which is just Suchebh in Twilit's case)
nobody in Hell, including archdemons, wants to get on his bad side
Lithiana:
like the other concubi, she was "born" in the mortal world; she in particular was created partially-accidentally by a weird sex cult that wanted to summon a demon but had no idea how to do it and just kind of messed around until they managed to call enough chaos into the metaphorical Shape of a person and she was born
she was the last concubi to come into existence (before MC) - once the gods realised that humans could accidentally create demons, they created the Inquisitors to hunt down humans consorting with demonic magic
she doesn't remember much about her early days except for constant feelings of terror, but it left her with a kind of wistful nostalgia for the mortal world that she can't do much about
Malkorath:
they're not really fond of Beds, due in part to the combination of a lot of their anatomy (they can't lie on their side for example because of their horns), so they kind of sleep belly-down on top of a big heap of cushions when they have to sleep
they're Not into bondage shit at all because their creator kept them chained down in a cage until he would release them to kill people for him... they don't find it sexy at all lmfao, only traumatic
they were built purposely with a body temperature much lower than other demons so that they can survive travel into the mortal world (i may have mentioned this one already, i can't remember lmao)
Suchebh:
they don't have a Bad relationship with Twilit per se, but they do constantly feel like they have to compete with them for notoreity and find a way to get out from underneath their shadow (Twilit is more or less oblivious to this)
they would Never Ever admit it, but they're definitely at least a little jealous of the relationship that some of Newyneth's children have with her, which makes them do catty or manipulative things sometimes
they are actually the person who braids Malkorath's hair for them
Twilit:
like several of the other archdemons, their true form is actually hidden somewhere in the mortal world (it would take too much effort and be too provocative for the gods to go about removing them), but unlike the other archdemons theirs is not split into pieces (though they did transfer it out of Hell in chunks lmfao)
they have a Decent relationship with some of the more neutral gods, but they're definitely considered a wild card by the more militant ones... they are absolutely considered unpredictable and hard to handle
they are generally very proud of Suchebh in their own way, but they're quite bad at expressing that in a way that Suchebh understands smndfgb

imagine s-crocodile shows up and they’re protective of luffy
I imagined it and I loved it (the post gets to S-Croc speculation towards the end, I swear)
I really can't wait to see S-Croc in general though, because while we haven't seen the other Seraphim like, just casually hang around, the little glimpses we have gotten at them have been really interesting, because of both the similarities and differences between the Seraphim and the OG Shichibukai
Like, as of chapter 1103, from what we've seen S-Bear has seemed Quite Stoic and quiet, very similar to Kuma as we first met him in Thriller Bark/Sabaody. S-Shark seemed very serious and quiet too but it's hard to compare him to Jinbei proper. Meanwhile, the way S-Snake got flustered and shy was quite similar to how Hancock behaves around Luffy, although in a much more child-like, cutesy manner. And S-Hawk seemed a bit more child-like as well, seemingly being a bit more open with his emotions? (Like for example he seemed quite annoyed about getting captured)
So it's kind of hard to say right now, but it does kind of seem like while the Seraphim ARE clones of the Shichibukai and they DO share the mannerisms of their "parents", they are also children. Like, while part of their stoicism could be chalked up to how they are Pacifistas, they are still like a step "above" the basic Pacifistas (pure robots). Like they're somewhere between the Pacifistas and pre-lobotomy Kuma. They don't have full free will, they are (fleshy) robots who can be programmed and ordered to do tasks, but also they do have that partial free will and mind. And that's all so incredibly interesting to me. Especiall because the remaining missing three Seraphim should be like the rest; they have the personalities of the OGs, but maybe lack their maturity in some ways because the Seraphim are still kids. They may be more open and/or less filtered with their emotions and thoughts. Maybe. Again, kinda hard to tell rn because we've seen so little of the brats.
Based on that though, we can kinda make some guesses on what the remaining Seraphim might be like though. S-Mingo especially because we have the benefit of knowing what Doflamingo was like as a kid to begin with, and I doubt S-Gecko will have any surprises in store for us.
But S-Croc is so interesting. Because he could go either way. Like he could be stoic and serious much like S-Bear and S-Shark, as lowkey suggested by his calm expression in that one panel we saw. That would match how Crocodile has been On Average post-Alabasta too. But what if he was more like Alabasta!Croc? When he was much happier and like, openly jovial? But in a child-like way? Or a mix of both because people are complicated and stuff sdjfhsf
The reason I'm bringing that up at all is that like. Okay so I don't think S-Croc would be protective of Luffy by default. Like Crocodile himself wasn't protective of Luffy when they first met by a long shot, and arguably still isn't canonically (his actions in Marineford are, rn, canonically just petty revenge at the World Government), so it'd make no sense for S-Croc to take one look at Luffy and be like "nobody hurts this one" right away, right?
But. Could S-Croc BECOME protective of Luffy?
...Unless S-Croc did turn out to be a Crocodile Zoan with that Weird Zoan Instinct and Crocodad Real, in which case S-Croc being randomly protective of Luffy right from the get-go would work just fine. But this remains to be seen ((To be fair, it did take Hancock time to get her crush on Luffy while S-Snake went 0 to 100 with Luffy, so maybe there could be a chance for S-Croc to be protective by default. ...Unless Luffy just happened to be Hancock's type to begin with and it was just her trauma that kept her from immidiately crushing on the idiot at first glance, while S-Snake doesn't share Hancock's emotional trauma so she was able to jump straight into crushing on him))
And this is where we get to the Absolutely Wild, Off-The-Rails, Borderline Fanfiction Speculation. Because we're here to have fun, and it's fun to think about hypotheticals like this.
But as we know, Crocodile. Bit of a sad loner. He has trust issues. He has been hurt A Lot. Happily spends decades of his life by himself. Very tragic. This probably contributes to his stand off-ish demeanor. S-Croc could have that same demeanor. But he shouldn't have the same trauma, the same root cause to being a sour puss. And most importantly, because he's a child, he might be more emotionally "open". Like he could become more obviously upset about stuff, and he might be more receptive to people if they're nice to him. Maybe. Big big big maybe.
Another fun thing to note; S-Croc seems to have been dispatched away with S-Mingo and S-Gecko (wherever the fuck they're going (probs Emptee Bluffs but if they go there then we can't have him interacting with Luffy so we need to pretend that's not where they're going arrite)). This is important, because as we all know. Crocodile and Doflamingo Do Not Get Along. And if the real ones can't get along, I could not imagine their Seraphim being much better.
The thing is, it could be kind of worse with the Seraphim, actually;
Based on the single panel of him that we've seen so far, S-Mingo seems to just ooze Middle School Bully Energy (and even if he isn't one, Doflamingo had a thing for annoying the shit out of Crocodile, his Seraphim would probs be the exact same in that regard, right)
S-Croc could be pre-T
If so, and especially if Crocodile being trans isn't public knowledge (as then it'd be possible Vegapunk could've labeled S-Croc "a failed Seraphim")
-> S-Croc being "the wrong sex" (compared to the OG) could easily become a painful sore spot for S-Croc
Especially because if Crocodile's trans, then S-Croc would also probably be trans, and insist on being a boy
And boy fucking howdy, would that become an easy ass fucking way for S-Mingo to bully the shit out of S-Croc, in a way that could really get under S-Croc's skin in a really horrible way
So. You know.
I could totally imagine S-Mingo being an asshole and annoying the fuck out of S-Croc in a way that would lead into a straight up fight. Because they're kids, and may not have the maturity to not escalate shit, especially if one got openly upset (god knows Crocodile can't handle being humiliated as a grown ass man) and another was having the time of their life mocking the other. But of course, these are Seraphim we're talking about, they could just keep on fighting forever and absolutely wreck everything in sight if someone doesn't stop them/give them the orders to stop.
I'm not saying Luffy would like step in or anything (dude doesn't have the authority to boss the Seraphim around either, it'd have to be Vegapunk), like I don't think he'd care enough to try to stop the two from fighting (as long as they aren't putting anyone else and/or the Sunny in danger). But between Luffy defeating Doflamingo being a more recent event in his mind, and him kind of owing one to Crocodile, I could kind of imagine Luffy feeling slightly more inclined to take S-Croc's side. Like considdering Luffy loves and respects trans people, I could imagine him feeling a little bad for S-Croc. Just a little though.
But I think that could kind of become key here. 'Cause like, Luffy wouldn't have to do anything big to defend S-Croc or anything (he's a man, he can defend himself, if anything Luffy defending S-Croc would hurt his honor (shounen logic)). Just, calling S-Mingo an asshole casually, or choosing to hang out (or at least try to) with S-Croc, or something like that. Just Luffy showing the tiniest amounts of compassion and care, to make S-Croc feel a little less alone.
I think that could make S-Croc become a little protective of Luffy in turn.

how long dose drawing take you?
Omg I am actually…..very embarrassingly slow LOL I get ridiculously hung up on trying to make the tiniest details perfect and I take a long time to even draw something simple 😭 I really do want to work on being more loose and quick, but as slow as I am, I do enjoy my process!
For something even simple like sketches or memey pics, I usually take an hour to a few hours. For full illustrations I usually track 15-20 hrs at LEAST, according to Procreate’s info. It’s because I sketch the basic shapes, then sketch over it again, then if it was really rough I do ANOTHER cleaner sketch on top, THEN line. But then I’ll be like “oh but this line looks off” or “should this be 2 pixels to the left or right”….and oh god once I start coloring and doing effects/bgs….that’s probably what Really gets me bc I’m so indecisive LMAO. I’m out here trying out 10 different variations of everything and testing different opacities of the overlays and constantly switching back and forth until I maybe finally decide an hour later.
I am kinda embarrassed with how slow I am compared to how long I think other artists might spend on a similar piece, but I know everyone works at their own pace and in the end, I’m usually very satisfied with my decisions and how my work comes out, so it’s worth it to me! I only wish I could be faster to be able to draw more often because I have so many ideas I wanna see come to life. It’s just that sometimes it’s hard for me to set aside the proper amount of time and/or energy bc I know it always takes a Lot. I also tend to draw in very LONG sittings because it’s a challenge to start things but once I get going, I KEEP going lmao
Some screenshots of examples of my pieces with tracked times under the cut, I’m Really exposin myself haha

You like poison types so you must know somethin’ about bulbasaur, right?? I’m gonna raise mine to be really strong so what can I know about poison Pokémon?? @pokemoncollector98
Hey there kid! Yeah, i know a thing or two about bulbasaur, but i actually haven't met many in real life.
First, i have to say, and i bet Prof. Oak told you as well, and probably your mom too, but it's true: A pokémon doesn't need to be strong and good at battling! The most important thing is that they're happy and that you're good friends!
Now that this is out of the way, let me try and get you some useful info (and i also got Olivia to write a little bit about battling. He's better at this than me):
\\there is a good chunk of headcanon in there, and it got a bit long so i'm making a cut lol
So, first: Bulbasaur is a grass and poison type, but you know that already, right? These Pokémon tend to be poisonous, not venomous. That means they use their toxins (and poison type attacks) more to protect themself than to attack others. (I'm not sure how much you know about this already: a toxin is the stuff that makes a poison poisonous. But "poison" is not always the right word, but toxin is, so i use that word. Yes, that also means "poison type" is techncially wrong but that's not my fault)
And Bulbasaur is no different! The Venusaur line keeps most of their toxins in special areas within their back. For your Bulbasaur, that is the bulb. When it evolves, it will be the stem of the flower and in the area of the back around that. So be careful when you interact with it in that area. I'm saying that because they can secrete some poison through the skin on their back, and even if they don't want to hurt you, it could happen by accident. I recommend you wear rubber gloves when cleaning your partner, or when you have to touch them in that area for another reason. It should be safe to touch and pet them on the head though.
Also, i have to say something very very important: For safety reasons, you should always have some antidote for your poison type pokémon with you. I mean, not if they get poisoned, but for the poison they make themself. There are so-called "universal antidotes", but they are not good. They help in a pinch, because they work on the most common poisons, but i'm getting ahead of myself. As the owner of a poison type, it's your responsibility to be prepared if accidents happen. Go ask at the Pokémart, they should have bulbasaur-specific antidote. It is a common starter-pokémon after all. (If it says "Venusaur" on the bottle, that is fine. Each brand does it differently, it's about the evolution-line for almost every poison type).
So, the problem with the "universal antidotes" is the following: they often only delay symptoms and work on the human (or pokémon) body, rather than the toxins themself (they slow down the heart and stuff like that). They do weaken the toxin as well, but only a little bit. If you take some of that, you should definitely visit the hospital (or pokémon center if it was your pokémon) afterwards to make sure everything is fine. Some toxins can have effects long after the initial accident if you take such a universal antidote. Pecha berries are the same, eating them often provides an easy relief for most toxins, but they are not a proper antidote.
This all is very important. I don't want to scare you, trust me, but poison types can be dangerous. Accidents with poison types can be deadly, just like accidents with fire types could burn down your house. Your Bulbasaur is not as dangerous, of course. If you got poisoned by them, you would probably feel very ill for a day or two, but you would not die. I'm saying this more for Ivysaur and especially Venusaur, bad accidents could be VERY bad.
Now, to the more fun stuff!
Something that Prof. Oak probably already told you, but Bulbasaur, as grass types, can do photosynthesis. That means they can eat sunlight! If they can do that, you don't need to feed them as much regular food. You should keep track of the amount of sun your partner gets to adjust their dinner. If it was really sunny, you can give them a little bit less, and if you were indoors all day or if it was raining, they should get a little bit more food. Also, a little tip, if you feed them certain berries, that could make their poison type attacks a little bit stronger. For example Aguav, Ganlon or Durin Berries would do that. It's not neccesary at all though, and depending on where you live, it could be difficult to find them. In addition, if you're just starting out, your Bulbasaur is probably quite young, so they don't know many poison type attacks anyways. You'll have to keep training for that.
Another thing about Bulbasaur is that they are very good at is anything that requires nimble hands. It's pretty astounding, isn't it? They can use their vines very very well. I know a chef who has an ivysaur helping her with cooking, and the ivysaur is very good at chopping vegetables and stuff with her vines. They are also surprisingly strong! With that I mean, they can probably lift you with their vines! They couldn't do that for long, but i met trainers who had their Bulbasaur help them climb in the mountains. If they had a wall they couldn't climb, the Bulbasaur could lift them up if it wasn't too high. You should try and find something that your Bulbasaur likes doing! Maybe they have a lot of fun making funny shadow theater, i saw that during a Pokémon contest once.
Alright, i also wanted to tell you a little bit about other Poison Types.
I already mentioned general safety with rubber gloves and antidotes. But i still want to add, if you know where you're going on your journey, it might be good idea to research what kind of Pokémon live there. For example, in veridian forest, there are a lot of weedle, but at mt. Moon, there lives a species called Nidoran. Both are poison types, but they are very different and their toxins are very different as a result! Again, you should be fine asking at the pokemart about antidotes if you want to be prepared.
And maybe you saw my URL, Koffing is a poison type and i love them very much. You can find them in the wild in Kanto as well! One of my favourite facts about them is: they can eat almost EVERYTHING as long as it is a so-called aerosol. That means, whatever it is needs to be floating in air, like spraypaint or smoke. In the wild they usually eat things like smog from factories or gases from volcanoes, but they can eat candle smoke, the steam from a hot cup of coffee or, I'm serious, farts! But the last one is a bit gross...
Anyways, if you decide to catch a koffing, i recommend you get a bandana or a scarf that you can put in front of your face because they also puff out toxic smoke, so it's good to have something for that when you're indoors.
The next bit is written by my friend Olivia who's really good at battling!
Hello young trainer! My name is Olivia, I'm a professional gym trainer at the Striation City gym in Unova. Your name is Red, right? One of the strongest trainers i ever heard of went by the name of Red! I think he even came from Kanto, did you know that?
But you are not here for that, you want some battle tips for your bulbasaur, correct?
Lets start with the basics. Bulbasaur is a grass and poison type, that means there are quite a few advantages and disadvantages to keep in mind when battling. Overall the poison type helps Bulbasaur when defending against oncoming attacks in my opinion, but it depends a lot on your opponent.
Let us not get ahead of ourselves. As you probably know, Bulbasaur is weak against fire type attacks, since it is a grass type Pokémon. You should also be careful when fighting Ice and Flying type pokémon for the same reason. In addition, the poison type gives bulbasaur a weakness to psychic type attacks, and moreover, it is doubly weak against bug types. If you have to battle bug types, it is probably best to find another team member that can fill this role.
On the other hand, bulbasaur is a great choice against water-type pokémon as well as fighting and electric type pokémon. It's ideal opponent would be other grass types, surprisingly, as it has a double resistance against their grass type attacks. All the other typings are not extra strong or weak against it.
Now, this is an easy thing to say, but keep in mind that your opponents might also have double typings, so you see there is a lot of strategy involved at the highest levels of pokémon battles.
Now that we have the basics of Bulbasaur as a species covered, let's look at it's statistics. Bulbasaur and it's species is generally well rounded, that means they are quite good at both attacking and defending. They have a lot of HP, which means they can easily take a few hits before fainting. They are also pretty good at defending against both special and physical attacks, but are better at taking special hits.
In case you're not aware, Pokémon have two different methods at attacking, one is called special and one is called physical. It is dependent on the type of the attack, so you can look out for that when planning your gym battles!
In the same sense, Bulbasaur is also better at attacking with special attacks than with physical ones, but there is not a huge difference between them in both attacking and defending.
The last statistic to keep in mind is speed: Bulbasaur and its evolutions are not the fastest Pokémon, there are plenty that are faster than it. But that is okay, because you should be able to take a hit and then retaliate just fine. However, it is very important to keep this in mind.
Let us now talk a little about attacking:
There is something that we in competitive battling like to call "Same Type Attack Bonus", or STAB for short. This is a thing that makes pokémon attacks stronger, if the move is of the same type as the pokémon. For Bulbasaur, these are Grass and Poison type. Sadly, Bulbasaur doesn't learn any poison type attacks that do direct damage, but that is okay. You see, Poison is a type that is "physical", while grass is "special", and you remember, Bulbasaur is stronger with its special attacks.
In general, Bulbasaur and its evolutions is, in my opinion, great at fighting longer battles. Again, it can take a few hits (as long as they are not bug typed), and it has great moves to keep the opponent struggling. You could try and find a combination between the moves
Leech Seed
Mega Drain
Razor Leaf
Hyper Beam/Bodyslam (later, and you'd need a so-called TM and those can be a little expensive)
Sleep Powder
Poison Poweder or Toxic
Rest (also needs a TM)
Growth (You will need to train a lot for this one, your Partner will probably have evolved by then)
Reflect (another TM)
With moves like Leech Seed, Mega Drain, Poison Powder/Toxic and Sleep Powder, you have many options to keep the opponent on their toes because they but a sort of timelimit on them. Leech Seed/Mega drain hurt them while they give Bulbasaur energy back while Poison Powder/Toxic make them take a lot of damage over time. Sleep Powder is obvious i think, if the opponent is asleep, they can't do anything so they have to act to get back in the game. But, except for Mega Drain, these moves tend to be quite inaccurate, so you can't perfeclty rely on them.
Moves like Razor Leaf, Body Slam and Hyper Beam are just very strong attacks that can deal a lot of damage. While Body Slam and Hyper Beam is generally stronger, keep in mind that they are normal typed, which means they are physical and they do not get the STAB.
Rest, Growth and Reflect make it so your Bulbasaur get's stronger in battle. Rest let's it recover HP at the cost of falling asleep. Growth makes it so the pokémon gets stronger at attacking AND defending with/against special attacks while Reflect lets you weaken incoming physical attacks (even after switching to another Pokémon).
Wow, that was a lot, was it not? Let's do a summary as well!
Bulbasaur and its evolutions are generally good at both attacking and defending but they are not very fast. They have a lot of weaknesses and resistances. Most importantly, they are extremely weak to bug type moves, but they are great at taking hits from other grass types. They can work well to support the rest of your team by weakening opponents with moves like Leech Seed, poison powder or sleep powder, but they can also do a lot of damage on their own with Hyper Beam or Razor Leaf!
I hope you learned something! And i wish you the best of luck on your journey, young trainer. And most importantly: have fun! (it's totally okay to lose a battle) - Olivia
