you’re invited by James Corden on the show to play a little game of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts.

“Now y/n, I know you are familiar with this game correct?”

You squinted your eyes at the nasty foods that sat on the table in front of you, “unfortunately.”

James laughed slightly as he continued, “well for those of you who don’t know this game is called Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts. I will be asking the lovely y/n here some questions that my writers have typed up. Neither her nor me have seen the questions before this. Should y/n not want to answer the question then she will have to eat one of these delectable snack choices we have.”

You clasped your hands together, “and what do we have here today James?”

He smiled, “well thank you for asking. Today our selection is filled with crickets, blood head cheese, hot sauce, bull penis, sardine smoothie, cow’s tongue, deep fried butter, and a thousand-year-old egg.”

You grimaced, “yum. Okay, who’s going first?”

“Why don’t you start first.”

You rubbed your hands together and peered around the table, “just because I think it’s the most disgusting option up here, I am going to give you the blood head cheese.” The crowd cringed at the sight, “okay James…” A small laugh escaped your throat as you read the card, “ok. Okay. This one isn’t that bad, which I’m kind of disappointed by.” You looked him dead in the eye, “why wasn’t Tom included in the Avengers Tour Bus Segment.”

James shook his head slightly as the crowd laughed at the question. James eyed the gross cube of food. “Blood head cheese or….” He sighed and ran a hand over his face, “okay. Now before we start, I love Tom. He’s a fantastic actor and great guy.”

You laughed, “but….?”

He sighed again, contemplating his options once more. “There was a scheduling conflict.”

You rolled your eyes and pointed at him, “bullshit. James, that is bullshit. Spill or fill baby.”

He laughed again, “okay fine. To be completely honest, it’s because Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie were on the bus.” You threw your head back in laughter. “I’m serious. I thought that conflict would arise and decided I would be the proactive one and stop it before it started.”

You clapped your hands as you laughed. “wait no, that’s brilliant. Oh my god…” You let out a shaky breath and wiped the small tears that formed in your eyes, “Good job James.”

“thank you, thank you. Now, for your first food. I’m going to give you the cow’s tongue.” He picked up a paper, his eyes scanning the question and a large smile spread over his face.

“oh no.” you whispered. “you know this game is unfair. I’m literally apart of one of the most secretive movie companies on earth!”

James nodded and laughed, “yes you are.” He placed the card down before glancing at it again quickly. “okay. So… y/n. If you had to replace any MCU actor with someone else, who would you swap?”

You fought the small smile that made its way onto your lips. “fuck.” You quickly covered your mouth, “sorry I keep forgetting we can’t swear on American television. But damn this is hard.”

“There is always the tongue.”

“I know that there’s a cow’s tongue!” You quipped back easily causing James to laugh loudly. “But there’s literally no one that I would want to replace. Everyone is so good.”

“That’s not an answer.”

You groaned slightly, “I’m like trying to remember all of the movies.” Your eyes looked to ceiling as you thought before your eyes popped open. “okay I actually have one.”

James’s eyes widened as he smiled, “oh do tell.”

“give me one sec.” you quickly pulled out your phone and texted Kevin Feige who was sitting in the back of the audience listening, probably waiting to fire you. Bautista?

“woah woah wait a second. What are you doing there?” James asked while laughing.

You giggled as you looked dup from your phone, “making sure I don’t lose my job.” yeah go ahead. “okay we’re good. I would replace Dave Bautista with Dwayne Johnson.”

The crowd oohed as James almost lost it, “really? Why?”

You held up a finger, “I’m sorry I didn’t realize that we were allowed to ask two questions. Now, I think it’s your turn.”

He continued laughing as you spun the table around so that the deep-fried butter was in front of him. “Okay keep laughing James. Because this next question is a doozey.”

“oh boy bring it on.”

You laughed, “how much money did you get paid to do Peter Rabbit?”

James frowned instantly and ran a hand over his lips, “alright here we go.” He lifted the stick of butter, it almost slipping through his fingers. You covered your mouth as you gagged slightly. You looked away as James took a rather large bite of the butter. You instantly turned your body as you heard his gag, not wanting to look at the scene. He spit the butter into the nearby bucket and took a large gulp of water to wash down the foul taste. He wiped his mouth and let out a small laugh at your disgusted face.

“Oh, James that was awful, I’m truly sorry.”

He shook his head as his tongue poked out over his lip. “okay now I want to give you something bad.” He spun the table around so that the shot flute of hot sauce sat in front of you. He picked up the card and laughed, quickly covering his mouth. “ok y/n, now I get to return the favor. How much were you paid to do avengers.”

You bit your lip and cringed at both the question and the idea of having to drink hot sauce. You picked up the small glass and examined it, “how hot is this?”

James laughed, “the hottest one we could find.”

“so, like if my mouth is ruined after this…?” he just shrugged, and you sighed, “well let’s toast to lost friends, then shall we?” He laughed loudly as you raised the glass in toast and plugged your noise. You tipped it back and waited for the thick liquid to slowly roll into your mouth. You barely took a full sip before you were reeling back and shaking your head in disgust. You put down the glass and fought to swallow it. Eventually you forced the hot liquid down your throat and gagged, instantly picking up the glass of water.

“holy—you actually drank it.” James said in surprise.

You nodded as you chugged down more water, letting out a large sigh before the burn really set it. “fuck, it’s really hot.” You laughed slightly as you tried to fan your mouth.

“I didn’t think you would actually drink that.”

You nodded and shook out the sleeves of your blouse. You took another large sip, “When I play a game, I play to win. But fuck, this is really hot.” You billowed your shirt to bring some air to your body, “can I get some milk? Like this is really hot.”

James laughed and nodded, “yeah we can get you some milk.” He looked off to one of his crew members and gestured. A moment later a glass of cool milk was being handed to you.

“thank you so much.” You said before you took a large sip. “man, that was really hot. What pepper was that made from?”

James shrugged with a large grin over his face, “I don’t know but I’m happy that wasn’t me.”

You shook your head and bit your lip looking at the selection of gross food. “well now you better watch out James because I’m out for revenge. Why don’t we go with the nice sardine smoothie?”

“I was hoping I wouldn’t get this one.”

“whelp.” You shrugged. You read the card, “get ready to drink. James, which product that you endorse do you actually not use or enjoy?”

James ran his fingers over his lips, “out of any of the products that I endorse?”

You shook your head, “they’re options. Chase Bank, Apple Music, or Keurig Coffee.”

James frowned and looked over to his production crew, “why guys? Why.” You let out a hearty laugh as James began to eye the glass of the chunky smoothie. “I guess I too should toast to broken friendships.” You laughed as he tipped the glass your way before taking a sip.

You watched him instantly spit it back out causing you to boo, “James! I swallowed all of the hot sauce, weak!”

He wiped his mouth and offered you the glass, “please show me how it’s done if you’d like.” You shook your head and he lowered the glass, “that’s what I thought. Now for you, I thought of this since last round. I want you to eat some crickets.”

You smirked slightly as he picked up the card. He opened his mouth in shock before continuing, “y/n, are all of the characters that died in Avengers: Infinity War permanently dead?”

You smiled, “oh that’s easy.” Everyone perched on the edge of their seats, “I don’t know.”

James rolled his eyes, “of course you know.”

“no, I actually don’t. We aren’t told anything. I will find out the answer to that question at the same time you will, which is when it comes out.”

“That is such a cop out!”

You widened your eyes and laughed, “no it wasn’t! That’s the truth!”

He pointed to the glass accusingly, “eat it.”

“But I answered the question!”

“fine then, does your character stay dead?”

You shook your head vigorously, “no no no no! That wasn’t the question!”

“you need to eat that!”

You smiled widely and pushed it away from you, “I am not gonna eat it. I’m sorry that it wasn’t the answer you were looking for, but I still answered the question!” Both you and James laughed loudly as he finally relented.

“Fine you don’t have to eat it.”

You grimaced, “no you know what, I will eat them because I’m not a cheater. So, while I did answer the question…” you looked directly into the camera, “I will still eat the crickets.”

“What?” James laughed, “No you really don’t have to.”

You lifted your hands in surrender, “no James. It’s fine, I’ll eat the crickets.” You lifted one by the legs, “I’ve actually eaten a cricket before.”

James did a double take as you tossed the bug into your mouth with relative ease. You chewed it slightly before swallowing as James stared with an open mouth.

“wait wait back it up. Why did you eat a cricket?”

You laughed slightly as you took a sip of water, “my granddad used to buy these packs of like bacon flavored worms or cheese flavored crickets as a joke, and one thanksgiving—”

“you ate those instead of the probably delicious food that was around you?”

You laughed and shook your head, “no no. My brother and I played what are the odds and I lost so I had to eat them, and I did.”

“why didn’t you just like… not eat them?”

You scoffed, “do you have an older brother?” He shook his head, “okay then. You can’t just back out of a dare.”

“alright then let’s continue. We have one question left for each of us.”

You nodded and spun the table, so the thousand-year-old egg was in front of him, “last one James, which do you prefer: USA or England?”

The crowd oohed loudly as James dropped his head with laughter, “oh man. I mean, I love both countries so much.”

“yeah okay.” You smirked, “now answer the question.”

He laughed again, “I’m forever grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to be here in America and host this amazing show. But London is my home, I grew up there.”

“right… your answer?” You leaned forward slightly, teasing him

“cheers.” You laughed loudly as James took a bite, almost instantly spitting it out and gulping at the water.

“alright last one y/n and I will give you the last food option, the bull penis.”

You groaned slightly as you lifted the bowl to sniff it. “okay the smell could be worse but it also could be a hell of a whole lot better.”

James laughed and tapped the card on the desk, “to finish the game, y/n… how good is Tom in bed?”

You ran your tongue over your bottom lip as you shook your head. “oh my god.”

“your answer?”

You bit your lip, “my answer is…. It is very ironic that I’m about to eat bull penis instead of answering a sex related question.”

“yes, it is now answer or dig in.”

You picked up a penis slice between your sharpened nails and lifted it towards your mouth. You pursed your lips before letting out a breath and putting the bull penis into your mouth.

“how is it?” James asked with a sly smile

You grimaced and swallowed thickly, “chewy.”

James laughed and clapped his hands, “well that is our game. Thank you so much to y/n y/l/n for being such a good sport in the game and doing much better than me. Avengers 3 is now on Blu-Ray and DVD and stay tuned for the exclusive drop of an Avengers 4 clip!” You clapped along with James before standing up and giving him a light hug. You waved to audience as the curtain dropped. Your phone instantly dinging in your pocket.

You pulled it out as you walked back towards the dressing room.

Tom: You did great babe and you really took one for the team on the last one.

Agent Carter An Au Series

Peggy's POV:

I wake up early in the morning, feed Steph, and go to the kitchen to make some tea. I notice Daniel still asleep on the couch, and he looks uncomfortable. Perhaps once we move he'll be able to sleep in his on bed again, and actually be comfortable. I can't believe I told him as much as I did last night, although it is a relief having some of it off my chest, I still wasn't ready for him to know all of that. I like Daniel, i really do, perhaps more than friends...but he showed me last night that he wasn't interested, or that he lost any interest he had. I never forgot the time in his room where we nearly kissed, our lips barely grazed the other...and yet I felt something; and I want to feel that spark again. Thats why, when I slip up and kiss his cheek, I try to compose myself or act as if it weren't a big deal. But last night he turned away from me, and I'm afraid that door is well and truly locked for good.

I look in the refrigerator for the milk to put in my tea, and I notice the label; Daisy Clover Dairy. Damn. I almost forgot I have to find the milk truck with nitramene that Branis stole. Ugh, its going to be a long week. I look over at Steph and she keeps wiggling around as if shes looking for something; or someone. I love how much she loves him, but once we leave I'm afraid of how she'll respond. I look over at Daniel and hes still fast asleep; then an idea pops in my mind. Perhaps its a bad one, but I do it anyway. I lift poppet up and place her on Daniels chest, and the second she realizes who he is, she snuggle against him and falls asleep. More and more am I amazed at how close they are. Its incredible. I can only imaging what her father would say or do if he knew how close Steph was with someone else. Knowing his obsessive and overbearing nature, he would probably get angry and try to prevent Daniel coming anywhere near her. But babies are good detectors of good people, and it seems Daniel is he best.

I hear a noise and look over at the sleeping pair. Daniel laid his arm over Steph to hold her close to him. All I can do is smile at the sight in front of me. If only I had a camera to capture this moment. Normally I wouldn't care for such things...but this is an exception. I turn away and sip my tea when I hear a noise; Daniel is starting to wake up.

"Mmm." He moves around and realizes hes not alone. "Uh, Hey little one. Where'd you come from?" I'm assuming he looks around, but I don't think he sees me. "How the hell did you get over here?" I see his head pop up from the couch and hold her closer. She rest her head on his chest and sleeps soundly.

"I'd be concerned if she were walking already." He looks up and finally notices my presence.

"Jesus Peg! You scared the hell outta me!" I laugh at his declaration. "How long has she..."

"Only a few minutes. She wouldn't sit still and kept looking around for you, so I placed her with you. And of course, she fell right back to sleep." He looks down at her and kisses her cheek.

"You are the sweetest thing ever." And I couldn't agree more.

"Can you believe she'll be 6 months in a few weeks? Because I can't!" I say.

"Seriously? Jeez.. Has it really been that long?" I nod my head and make my way to the couch, and i sit next to him.

"Indeed it has. Its only 5 weeks away, but it feels much shorter than that." He hands her over and she snuggles against me. "Well its about bloody time you little minx." He looks at me and laughs." I suppose she just needed to cuddle with Tio Daniel first."

"Tio Daniel!?"

"Or would you prefer....Godfather?" He leans back and looks at me, his eyes wide.

"Peg. Are you serious? You're not kidding?" I laugh and shake my head.

"So is that a yes?" He quickly leans over and embraces me and starts to lead towards my cheek, but stops himself.

"I don't mind, Daniel." I turn to him. "I do it to you, why should it be one way around." I say boldly. I know exactly why. Women do it as affection, or for thanks and gratitude, sometime its only a friendly gesture. But for men? Its meant for familiar family and spouses. He still looks afraid...I suppose I need to squash that. I lean over and place one hand on his cheek, and kiss the other. "See? no harm. We're very good friends, Daniel. It doesn't bother me." He still looks shocked and frozen.

"Yeah, uh..right. No, uh sorry. Your're right." Hes adorable when he gets like this, all awkward and stuttering, and I can't help but laugh.

"We should be getting ready. I have a feeling its going to be a long day at the office." At this he snaps out of whatever trance hes in and stands.

"Yeah, you're right. I should probably jump in the shower and get ready." I stand up as well and embrace him.

"I'll see you at the office." Steph reaches out one last time and gets her snuggles, and then we leave. I meet up with Jarvis and we look at the housing I will be staying at. Its one of Howard's quieter residencies; But I'm starting to have second thoughts. I take a delicious scone from the table as we continue to walk. As we tour the house and Jarvis describe the layout and such, I speak up.

"I can't stay."

"Mr. Stark insisted."

"But he also wants me to clear his name for multiple charges of treason. If anyone finds out I'm living in his house, I'll be fitted for the noose!"

"Well if it puts you at ease, this isn't one of him primary residences. He uses it more for...private entertaining."

"Its too risky."

"Well if you're sure you wouldn't like to see the master bedroom." Although I know this is a absolutely horrible Idea, I follow him anyway. When we enter the room, I fall in love. The bed is the most comfortable thing I have ever laid on.

"Perhaps a night or two won't kill us." He chuckles and give me the Intel he has on Leviathan; which is nothing at all. The SSR had nothing on them either. The only lead we have in the milk company that has a truck full of nitramene. Jarvis asked about the foreign agents with the odd throats and I explained that the New York hospitals had no record of Laryngotamy patience in the last 3 years."So I've got 2 foreign agents, with no voice boxes, fighting over a milk truck full of experimental implosives. "

"Just another day at the office"

"Ugh, I wish." I explain when the Daisy Clover opens and how I plan on infiltrating it and finding the truck. He insist on waiting with the car, but I tell him no. Hes already been through enough danger. As we have this conversation I explore the room, and when I get to the wardrobe...I am astounded. I'm not sure a theater has as many costumes as Howard does. But the white coat will prove useful. Soon after I hand Steph over to Jarvis, I head to get some work done

When I get there at the Daisy Clover, I use my American accent and a pair of glasses, and the white overcoat as a disguise. I confront the manager and say that there have been many complaints and I am one of them. I go on a rant and scare him enough to get him to cooperate; not many men like a bossy women and it can intimidate them. It seems like forever that I've searched this entire bloody place, but theres no sign of gamma rays or the truck. I look at the paper and notice a truck is missing.

"We've had a guy out sick the past two days. He uses his truck to commune."

"Has he never heard of a bus? Name and address."

"Sheldon McFee, but I don't have an address."

"Leave that to me." I storm off the property, but not without doing some proper inspector work. I shout to put air in one or the tires, and then leave.

Daniel's POV:

I can't believe Peggy wants me to be Stephanie Godfather! And she addressed me as Tio Daniel to Steph...I honestly can't believe that just happened. But of course I ruined the moment by trying to kiss her again. I know she doesn't mind it, but I do. I still can't forget the time in my room when we almost kissed; thats and all the times shes kissed my cheek or my hand.  I felt this...spark, and yet we barely grazed our lips against each other. Its torture having these feelings and not letting them out. I really like Peggy, as more than friends, but I know shes probably not ready for that sort of thing right now; and besides she has a kid. Even though I love that kid as if she were my own, shes not. I'll never be able to be her dad, and I think thats what hurts the most. It'll be worse when they find somewhere to move, I won't be able to see them as much; especially Steph.

When I know Peggy is gone I go to my room and look for something to wear after I get out of the shower. But the only clean shirt I have left is the one Steph ripped. Dammit. Guess this will have to do. I jump in the shower and get dressed, and once I'm done, I drink some coffee and head to the office. Peg isn't here yet, but I don't expect her to be; I know shes looking to see if he can stay with the sitters for a while. I know she hates the idea of house jumping, but its the only option she has that lets her live with her daughter. I would say Steph could stay with me while Peggy came by my apartment and stayed for her free time while she worked or was at the Hotel for woman. But I also work and can't watcher her 24/7. I feel horrible that I can't help out more...

"Hey Sousa! What happened to you? Did you get mugged?" Krisminski Laughs.

"What?" I ask.

"Well, your shirt is ripped. So I asked if you got mugged? I mean, Its not like you can fight back with one leg."

"Hey, whoa. We don't know if it was some low life thieves out to steal a gimps money. Maybe it was that girl hes been rushing off to see... Am I right Sousa?"

"Shut up, Thompson." I go to my desk and start looking through the files we have on Stark. I look up at the clock and notice Peggy isn't back yet, and its almost 9:15. Where is she? Maybe I'm the only one whos noticed, but shes always here five till 9; always. I keep looking at the files, but can't help but look at the clock. And then she arrives. Thank God. When she walks by my desk she smiles, but then looks at me confused. She makes a small gesture to my shirt, and I nod, then she laughs softly; she knows its the same one Steph ripped.  Hours go by and I get bored, so I look at the horse race chart.

"Whiteby's Prospect. Third Race." I turn round and see Peggy looking over my shoulder, her coat in hand.

"You sure?" I smirk. I know she doesn't really care about these things. Once when I was home and she came in, she noticed the races and laughed at me. She said it was a waste of time and money, and that most of the races were probably rigged.

"Not at all, thats why they call it gambling." We smile at the each other and then I circle her suggestion.

"I have to pop out for a moment, personal matters. Cover for me?" My first thought is somethings wrong with Step.  I lower my voice, so no one else can hear.

"Is everything okay with..." At first shes confused, then she gets it.

"Oh! No of course not, thats...no everything's fine in that regard." I sigh of relief. Peggy quickly reaches out and rubs my back comfortingly. "You'd be the first to know if something were wrong, Daniel. I assure you." I nod my head again and smile.

"Okay, good to know." She smiles and leans one hand on the back of my chair.

"So will you do it...?"

"Sure, but you'd own me one." She smiles again and Agent Mills hands me the photos from Spider Raymond's club. "Hey, Thanks a bunch." Peg asks about the folder and I tell her, then she offers to help me look for the woman who killed Raymond. Weird... "I thought you said you were leaving?"

"Oh well-"

"Hey Sousa, you're needed in the basement." Krisminksi says.

"I'm kind of busy"

"Well now you're extra busy. I got a ten ton ball of rocks and garbage with your name on it." God I hate this guy.

"Alright alright, just give me a minute." I put the folder away and the paper with the race. Then turn to Peggy. "Guess I'm gonna miss that race."

"Its probably for the best." She says. Kriskminski orders Peggy to file some reports, so I guess she doesn't get to leave. I hope it wasn't too important.

Peggy's POV:

"I see. Yes, Yes, Perfect. Thank you." I finally was able to gather the information and address of Sheldon McFee. Hopefully I'll be able to find the truck of Nitramene an turn in into the SSR; maybe then I'll get a break around here. I grab my coat and glance at Daniel before I leave. What is he doing? He has something hidden under a file that hes looking at. Gambling on Horse racing. Men...I take a guess and he listens to me, God he is a mess. I tell him that I need to leave on personal matters, and he automatically got worried about Stephanie. I don't think I can adore him any more for that. If anything were wrong with her, not only would I rush out of the this building, but I would grab Daniel and force him to come with me. Hes the first person I would come to if something were to ever happen to my daughter.

As I start to leave, I'm called for me reports to file. The bloody buffoons I work with are so idle. I look around, and make sure no one is watching me, and then I hurry to Chief Dooley's office to make a call; no trace. And he answer.

"I don't have long, so I need you to listen very carefully. I need you to dispose of Howard's car."

"I beg your pardon?" Jarvis says.

"The SSR are looking into Roxxon at this very moment at car sustained damage at the site, and is likely to be teeming with Vita Radiation. Make it disappear." He huffs, but agrees.

"Very well. The linens should be done in the wash in 30 minutes-"

"Now."I say. He asks about the Dairy truck and I give him the Intel I've found and then end the call. I have to know if my face is in any of those photos. This could ruin my career, get Steph taken from me, and... cost me everything with Daniel.

Hours later, when the coast is clear, around lunch, I stop eating the Orange Daniel gave me and sneak over to his desk. But of course nothings ever that easy. The phon on my desk rings, and then the one on Daniels; and I hit my head "Bloody Hell" I whisper aloud. That wasn't suppose to happen.I peak my head from the Desk and see Daniel coming my way. Dammit. I sneak back over to my desk as he answers the phone. Chief Dooley wants me to bring the Vita Ray Detector to the main Roxxon office.

"What was that about?" Daniel asks.

"Oh, just another errand." I reply as I walk away. I go to the file room and pick it up from where I pout it back this morning and then leave for Roxxon.

"Carter about time." Dooley says. Wanker...

"Oh! I didn't know  our government had such good taste in secretaries. Whats your name, Darling?"A man says, I'm assuming is Mr. Jones.

"Agent." I say simply. i hand over the detector to Dooley and say I will see him at the office, but he has other ideas.

"Yeah we could use your help" Thompson says. I'm sure you do.

"It wouldn't be for filing would it." I retort.

Dooley explains that the vita rays could still be on the person that handled the nitramen. He wants me to stay and check the woman in the facility because a man doing it isn't appropriate. God help me...I rush to the restroom to make sure none of the Vita rays are on me form when I had infiltrated the other facility and found Branis. Turns out I do. "Sorry Nana." I throw away the watch my grandmother had given to me before she died. I wasn't particularly close with her, but I was closer to her than my mum. She always encouraged my adventurous side and never forced me to learn to 'be a lady'.

Mr. Jones gathers up his employees and they stand in a long line to be tested. For a while there was nothing and i thought this whole thing was pointless, but then I see him. The man who helped Branis make the nitramen bombs. Thompson tests him, but he comes back clear. I ask him to stop walking away and ask Jones about the uniforms. Vita rays hardly saturate a persons skin, but clothing is tainted for longer, and when I suggest to check the locker rooms, Van Ert makes a run for it; and Dooley and Thompson chase him. Men are so quick to act rather than think. I take the stairs and beat him to the lobby.

"May I?" I ask as I take a mans brief case. I take it and wack Van Ert in the legs, and he falls to his feet. Thompson puts him and handcuffs and Dooley watches, out of breath. The person who put all the letters together to spell out the title of the upcoming song [TONIKAKU HEY] would be named the champion! This is the game the member played together (laughs). When the start of the game was announced, desiring to be first place in the world, Haya-chan needlessly gathered all the stamps for himself (laughs). Why is Taiki-kun grasping for the bottom by spelling the word “TONIKAKU PAY”. ..?!?  In the second round, the one who spelled [Da-iCE] first would triumph, though they only had capital letters so they couldn’t get the traditional lowercase stylized parts right. This time they were only allowed to take the stamps one by one, and if they grabbed the correct stamp, they could move ahead, if not, they had to throw it back … it was a fierce battle (laughs). Here as well, the one that was completed first and was defending his place at the top was Yudai -kun! …Hmm? Yeah, Yudai-kun, turned in his paper spelled like “DAI-CE” (laughs) Ah ~ how fun!

Sota: Recently, Toru-kun and I were working on a stage play, and our amount of activities with Da -iCE was smaller, so it ’s fun to be here with five people again. When the five of us came together after a long time, I thought “I like this the best” yet again. When going out on stage just by myself, I sometimes felt frustrated. In the meantime, when I was in Osaka, I was talking to Toru-kun and confessed to him saying, “I am more powerful when it’s the five of us” (laughs).

Yudai: Both of them kept talking about how they love Da-iCE so much.

Toru: Yes. “I can do anything if it’s the five of us!” (laughs). But because we were working with actors in a similar place as us, doing both music and acting, I think that strengthened us.

Sota: Those were really great relationships for us.

Hayate: Wasn’t one of those actors EXILE’s Matsu-san? (laughs)

Toru: Yes, that was the MATSU-san we co-starred with (laughs). “Stop Da -iCE, let’s do a group together”.

Tonikaku Surprise

Taiki: A surprising thing? That would be the two of them doing “Chiruran.” The pressure of acting. I was surprised at their aura.

Hayate: We were crying from beginning to end

Yudai: Also, it was the first stage play I saw in my life.

Yudai: So everything was fresh.

Hayate: The transition between scenes was clear, so it was very interesting.

Taiki: It was amazing, wasn’t it?

Hayate: I also wanted to sword fight. I do not have to go out on stage, but I want to learn the sword (laughs).

Sota: The “Chiruran” sword fights are probably close to your image of it. You make mistakes over and over until you can reach the swift speed of movement we showed onstage.

Yudai: It’s a high level.

Hayate: “Binbin” came out!

Sota: Did you just try to quote a line? (laughs)

Toru: There’s the line “Binbin Kuru ne” (laughs). I appreciate it. I am surprised that you remembered that (laughs).

Yudai:  Atlantic mackerel is pretty cool at this time of year.

Sota: Then, let’s go fishing together, all five of us, next time.

Yudai: That would be really fun. For three or more people, the price of the ship is discounted, so I would like to go out!

Toru: I want to go to Hatsushima by ferry.

Yudai: That’s past Atami, isn’t it?

Sota: I’d like to do a BBQ after fishing.

Yudai: There are a few places we could do it. But I also want to fish at Hatsushima.

Taiki: I’d go if we went to Otaru in Hokkaido. When I was in Hokkaido, I ’d get up at 3 o'clock in the morning and go fishing sometimes, but since I came here, I have not gone.

Toru: Oh, then I’d like to go to Hokkaido for an interview with JUNON (laughs).

Sota: Now that you mention it, let’s go there with our fan club.

Hayate: I went fishing one time in the river. But I’m pretty sure I hated the insects on my fish hook!

Yudai: If you get used to it, would you like to come?

Hayate: No, I do not need to get used to it (laughs)

Toru: I definitely don’t want to use anything like centipedes.

Yudai: But, for Atlantic mackerel you don’t need insects. Just attach a small squid to the hook

Toru: That’s fine. It seems like you have a really strong desire to go fishing.

Yudai: It is delicious to eat.

Sota: As for me, I’ll eat it too!

Tonikaku Scared

Taiki: Personally I am afraid of a haunted houses. Rather than entering, I do not even want to think of it and have those memories in my brain. Even if I return home, I’ll still be thinking of it and bringing the scary memories to life.

Sota: I also hate haunted houses (laughs). As for fears related to Da -iCE, I’m afraid of the next tour. During our last anniversary, we were able to perform at the Budokan, and our next tour is a hall tour. My fear of the pressure is strong. Even if we do something unique, I’d like to do a good live that will allow me to exceed what we did at the Nippon Budokan.

Taiki: Even now there is always tension and pressure, right?

Sota: But it’s OK to be nervous, since I think I can’t give a good performance if I’m not a little nervous.

Taiki: Yes. I think that being nervous is definitely better. I often heard the quote “Is there any way to not get nervous? No, because being nervous is necessary”.

Sota: I think that I care a little too much about it though. Every time I get so nervous that I start trembling.

Taiki: In short, when we do new songs for the tour, it’s always nerve wracking to do it in a place we’re not used to (laughs).

Toru: When we go on a new stage for the first time, the anxious feelings while waiting in the wings is incredible

Sota: I think lives I go into without feeling too nervous usually wind up being the most terrifying ones in the end, though. So I try to keep that sense of nervousness (laughs).

Hayate: That’s right. I give myself a push on the back and embrace the fighting spirit

Sota: When I get nervous, my fighting spirit is even more impressive than ever! (laughs)

Tonikaku Impressed

Sota: Speaking of being impressed, on Tonikaku HEY’s coupling song “Sugar High”, I feel like the 3 performers worked together with us well to form a really solid chorus. That was something I wanted to do with them, and I was deeply moved by what came into shape. This song was written and composed by me, with Taiki-kun also helping with the lyrics, and Yudai-kun also did a lot of work on the chorus too and it was very exciting that everyone was involved in the song. Because the three performers’ part in the chorus is really good, I replayed the track many times and thought “Aaah, so good~” (laughs)

Taiki: I enjoyed recording.

Hayate: Because it was my first experience recording like that, I did not know what to do (laughs)

Taiki: Up to now I recorded solo parts, or background parts, but in the seven years since I’ve come here, I have never harmonized my voice into a five member part before. I can’t help but think it will be impressive.

Toru: It was a nice experience. As Yudai has also said before,  when we heard the “group” voice, it was moving. For Da -iCE’s voice in the future, I think it would be good if we could something like this again so when you listen you think "Oh, it’s Da-iCE’ s singing voice”

Sota: Definitely! I want to do it!

Taiki: I think that it be good for all of us to improve our vocal quality.

Sota: If we can do a lot of things on the next tour, wouldn’t it be fun to try singing a single medley with all five people?

Taiki: Oh, that’s interesting.

Sota: Since it is still under development, I hope that this type of song will also make it to a live performance and show that we can do better to earn the audience’s cheers and support.

Tonikaku High Tension

Yudai: Speaking of high tension, I want to go fishing!

Taiki: Again, you! (Laughs)

Toru: It can’t be helped. This is how he gets his high tension. He immediately gets excited (laughs)

Toru: But, there are surprisingly small things that get you excited too, right?

Yudai: That’s not it (laugh). But it’s always regrettable when I get over-excited at the drop of the hat, since the old man who lives next door will be like “You’re being bothersome~” and I’ll have to go “Yes ~” (laughs)

Toru: Don’t be like that (laugh)

Taiki: When I’m going to the gym, it lifts my spirits. Running while listening to LDH’s songs is good for keeping upbeat. When I listen to J Soul Brothers and Generations, my motivation goes up steadily and becomes just as hyper as Yudai (laughs).

Sota: Recently, during an after-show talk with MATSU-san, he sang “Choo Choo TRAIN” for me and Toru-kun, and our spirits literally soared.

Toru: Definitely.

Taiki: That would be an incredible thing.

Yudai: Super nice ~

Sota: Moreover, my father saw it, and since my father loved “Choo Choo Train” since long ago, I got to be a good son for introducing him to MATSU-san.

Toru: MATSU-san also talked a bit about his life in the group. Before we formed as Da-iCE, he was a superstar to us and I went to his lives, so it was an unbelievable feeling to work with him professionally.

Hayate: I was able to see the performance of Chiruran, and I can’t think of anything more motivating or exciting than that

Toru: I’m glad you think so, Hayate, thank you.

Tonikaku MV

Taiki: This time I had a strong sense of getting down to work. The staff is usually looking for something comprehensive to show what we’ve been doing up to now, and they come up with MVs which showcase us five, but this time we wanted to showcase a world view instead. There is our dance and performance as usual, but I think that it’s more interesting this time. There are feelings we’ve never shown before.

Sota: As a single, its personality comes out right from the beginning.

Yudai: In terms of using props and tools, everyone painted mischievously on the wall, and everyone’s face and clothes got messed up. It was interesting because we couldn’t just do the paint over again. It would be odd if in one shot, someone’s shoes had changed paint styles from the shot before, etc. We put a lot of effort into it, and I think the filming passed by faster than usual.

Hayate: It’s the first time we had to wash our bodies in the middle of MV shooting to clean up the paint. Thanks to that, it was a unique feeling that doesn’t usually come with working (laughs)

Taiki: I understand. I felt that too (laughs)

Yudai: When I got into the shower and returned to the dressing room, I felt like I was going home from the hot spring (laughs)

Sota: My body was getting cold. It felt nice to finish it off with a hot shower (laughs)

Hayate: It was really comforting, that feeling (laughs)

Taiki: It was a difficult to pair dancing with other issues for me this time. But, we worked towards what we wanted to do, and we all made a great emotional delivery for this song.

Toru: Up to now, dancing was our primary focus, but this time I think a lot of other things went into it, so it was very fresh and interesting.

Tonikaku HEY

Sota: To tell the truth, it’s a song where just the thought of hearing everyone chanting “Tonikaku HEY!” live is exciting. Working together with Yudai-kun on this song on its own raises my tension, and also I get to change my singing style musically in this song. I am doing a lot of challenging things, so I think that it’s enjoyable if you listen to on a technical level, too. Of course, I think that it is such a song that even just listening to the BGM will make you feel good.

Taiki: I think there is a lot of room for freedom in the dance, and it’s not as choreographed like other songs have been, and there is a margin for freestyling and ad-libs to bring out the atmosphere, so it’s a rather rare style for one of our singles. The choreo of “Tonikaku HEY” is easy to manage, so there is a good balance which makes us able to be creative in other places.

Sota: Before this, we released an album called “NEXT PHASE”, and this song is the sequel to that, since we wanted to have songs which expressed something like “This is our NEXT PHASE”. This is the song we arrived on to best fit that. It is a song that can also make you feel like you can return to your original intentions and goals despite being a new person who has experienced changes. Since I have been doing my best to compose songs with themes that tie into our indies era, I want to tell fans from our indies days “I hope the songs I write remind you of that Da-iCE too” I wonder if the fans from after the major debut can also appreciate this new side. I hope it’s a song that can take our fans along to the next stage along with us.

Yudai: The title “Tonikaku HEY!” is also great.

Hayate: The title is like a chant at a rally.

Taiki: Usually our songs have English titles which may be hard for people to remember, but I think this one is easy to remember.

Toru: Everyone liked this.

Taiki: I do not want to change this title for anything. The staff presented various things such as “It’s possible to change (kaeru no mo ari ka na)” though. We insisted “Tonikaku HEY!” is “Tonikaku HEY!” Even though they said “People may laugh at you for a title like that in the beginning,” if you listen to the song and see the choreography and come and visit us live,  would you really be able to laugh? I think if you’re able to see it like that, you can’t help but understand it.

Yudai: If you listen to the title and consider the thought of going to rallies, you get used to it and it makes sense. We usually listen to the staff, but not this time. I absolutely did not want to change “Tonikaku HEY!” Staff kept asking what we were doing, if it’s okay to try and sound “cool" or “slang-y.” But if you listen to the song, wouldn’t you say it’s worth the risk?

so in 8th grade for religious ed we had to do what was essentially a giant field trip to this shrine like an hour away except without the buses, cause your parents had to drive you. and it was such a long day, and honestly it was just. pretty surreal overall

so i was just expecting that we had to like. talk to Religious Elders or what the fuck ever like maybe theres like NUNS or something I DONT KNOW. but no we get there and it’s like. okay apparently this place is also just, a normal church as well. so all us kids were forced to attend like a normal mass but in a completely different church than the local one that holds our religious ed classes.

AND GOD. i have only ever been in 3 churches - my local one, this one, and one i went to for a funeral . and holy fuckign shit this one at the shrine was so weird. it was like a living room that hadn’t been updated since the 90s. literally the floor was a dark green carpet. why is there a CARPETED FLOOR in a church. like DUDE we’re all wearing SHOES this is so NASTY and it overall just felt very.... not formal? yet this place is obviously prestigious enough that we had to drive an hour out here just to be able to do our confirmation and graduate from religious ed? so i was expecting a much more extravagant church but no it looked like my fucking grandparents’ old house but just that the carpet was ugly dark green instead of brown

and it was SO SURREAL because there was easily 100 kids here all from a whole different church and a whole different community.. but this is a normal mass? like literally people were there for normal mass IT WAS SO WEIRD. but the only people who were there for like, normal purposes, were just a bunch of old people?!??!! and the room was SO EMPTY it was just so fuckingggggg weird man.

anyway then the parish leaders in charge of us kids were like “YOU MUST DO CONFESSION HERE!!! YOU HAVE TO” but like I REALLY DIDNT WANT TO. because i hate confession anyway and i wasnt emotionally prepared for it, nobody warned us we had to do it, so i was so caught off guard. i’ve always needed time to prepare for confession because HONESTLY i need time to fucking THINK about what i need to confess in the first place?? im not saying im holy and i never do anything wrong but its like IM HUMAN... of course i make mistakes but im not gonna act like tiny tiny mistakes are SINS that i have to do PENANCE for unless i absolutely have to in order to just confess ANYTHING. but then when i do that it just makes me feel worse in the end because the priest makes me fucking do penance for accidentally stepping on the back of somebody’s shoe and it’s like why the fuck is this considered a sin. BUT ITS NOT LIKE IVE MURDERED ANYONE OR ANYTHING??????? so yeah i normally need time to just fucking think of what to say, nevermind the fact that confession always made me nervous anyway, AND . i dont KNOW THIS PRIEST? im so used to the same priest ive been doing confession with for years and i have no idea who this fucking person is. 

SO LIKE i just desperately DIDNT want to do confession but they were all forcing us to do it. and i have.. unfortunately always been afraid of breaking the rules plus these adults are scary as fuck like literally the scariest woman in the entire parish community came with us, she literally made several kids cry because she screamed at them when they made grossed out faces when tasting the communion wafer for the first time. so i was like oh no i have to but the crowd of kids lining up was so large that so many people were just, not going in but acting like they did, and they were telling me to do the same and . lol. i think i wound up doing that because i honestly cant remember doing confession at this church and i feel like thats definitely something i wouldve remembered. 

so anyway then we break for lunch and like. the food there was shit . i think i had a bag of chips and that was it. they also had coffee and this was like one of my first times where i had no adult supervision, i had money on me, and access to coffee. so i bought the coffee cause i was curious what coffee was like. they only had black coffee though lol. anyway i pour a shit ton of sugar and milk into it and then i take a sip and it’s the most vile thing i have ever tasted. literally took maybe 3 sips and then i had to throw the entire thing out because they were gathering us back together and no way i could force myself to drink the whole thing in such a short amount of time. literally the most vile thing i have ever tasted idk how anybody drinks black coffee. i literally put like 7 sugar packets in there too and it did jack shit, it was still bitter as hell

anyway i remember going in some sort of tour around the area because the shrine had like a whole outside area that was a lot more impressive than the church itself. there was a small building that we sat and maybe prayed in idk it was weird as fuck i just sat there and stared out the window instead of praying. and at some point there was a fucking gift shop or something like ah yes let me get some Catholic Merch . 

the whole trip took up an entire day like 9-6 but i honest to god cant remember anything that we did beyond mass, confession, and lunch lmfao. like i just wiped it from my mind, and even those things i barely remember. my clearest memory is the fucking coffee thing. and the lack of clarity to my memories is especially weird considering i was 13 for this? it’s not like i was a little kid like 7 years old?

Week 2 (9/10~9/16): Bye mom, hi friends!

Meeting ICLP Yalies & DESSERT: Tai Yi Milk King 臺一牛奶大王

I got to meet up with the other Yalies at ICLP! It was lots of fun to see some familiar faces and also meet new peeps. We ate some good curry and also shaved ice!! I highly recommend Tai Yi Milk King, they have some amaaaazing shaved ice. 

FOOD: Fu Hang Soy Milk 阜杭豆漿

Okay so it turns out breakfast is quite an important part of Taiwanese culture. One of the most popular breakfast items is 豆漿 dòujiāng, or soy milk. No I’m not talking about Silk, I’m talking about actual soy milk made straight from soy beans and water. 

Fu Hang Soy Milk is especially famous for having amazing breakfast classics. People line up for as long as one or two hours!!! I had to know, was this worth the hype?? So Mama Oh and I set out to find out for ourselves. 

The line was definitely super long, but it moved really fast! I think we waited at most 30 minutes. Still, the number of people in line is quite hard to believe, so to let you see for yourself, I took a video of the line as we walked out (by the way, this is only the line outside, the line continues for much longer inside).

We ordered a few items: 

1) 豆漿 dòujiāng: the classic item, cold and sweetened

2) 鹹豆漿 xián dòujiāng: salty soy milk! we got this one hot, wasn’t sure what to expect but always down to try new things

3) 油條 yóutiáo: deep-fried dough sticks, also known as Chinese churros

4) 蛋餅 dànbǐng: egg pancake? egg crepe? 

5) 厚燒餅 hòu shāobing: i think this translates to thick flatbread or something like that

We dug in and mmmmmmmmmmmm soooo good. My favorite was the sweetened soy milk, it tasted so fresh, and paired with the oily but crispy youtiao, it was a match made in heaven. The salty soy milk was not my favorite, but my mom fell in love with it. She always liked more savory foods, and the curdled soy milk with a diverse mix of other ingredients was perfect for her taste. We thought the danbing and shaobing were also really good, but we were honestly too amazed by the soy milk to fully appreciate it. That said, we finished eating everything too quickly, and it left us wanting more. 

tl;dr, worth the wait.

Jiufen 九份 & Shifen 十分

Mama Oh and I decided to venture out of Taipei again, this time to Jiufen and Shifen. Jiufen is actually quite popular among tourists, because it looks super similar to the night market scenery in the Studio Ghibli film “Spirited Away”!! None of my street photos did it justice, so here’s a google image lol: 

What really fascinated us most during this trip, however, was not actually the street, but the natural scenery. It’s absolutely breathtaking: 

This photo I actually did take myself yay. Unfortunately Tumblr’s format is very limited and thus it’s really hard to see the photo in detail, but I set this as the cover photo for my blog!! 

After this, we went to Shifen, which is super famous for its waterfall. The Shifen Waterfall is 20m tall and 40m wide, making it the broadest waterfall in all of Taiwan. And my gosh, it’s gorgeous. 

We also went to Shifen Old Street to do something incredibly cheesy and touristy yet fun nonetheless: lighting sky lanterns! Basically we choose different colors to represent different types of wishes. In our case my mom chose red (health, peace); yellow (money, wealth); blue (career, promotion), and orange (love, marriage). After writing down our wishes, we lit the lantern and let it float into the sky. 

This leg of the trip was especially fun, and Mama Oh and I really felt like the ultimate tourists. 

Placement Test, Orientation & Campus Tour

So this is the part of the week when I remember that I’m not in Taiwan just for vacay, I actually have school. So we took a placement exam to determine which level we were best suited for. Then we had a series of orientations (I only went to the first day oops), where we signed the language pledge and attendance pledge, along with a campus tour! I think what I realized from the tour was mostly: 

1) NTU’s campus is quite large, such that most students need a bike to get around between classes. 

2) A tour of such a large campus at 1pm on a hot summer day in a tropical island is the worst idea ever. 

I think we were so irritated and tired that I actually don’t remember where we ended up walking around. But I really appreciated the NTU students who volunteered as tour guides!

Okay now for the part that makes me kinda tear up. 

Mama Oh obviously couldn’t stay forever. She has a store, a husband, and a dog to go back to, as none of the above can function without this superwoman. So I got her to the airport and we had what was going to be our last meal before we’re apart for 9 months. I think it was only then that it hit me that, unlike the summer program at HBA where I was able to look forward to the quick end of 10 weeks, or the four years at college when my empty-nesting parents would drive over from New York to give me homemade Korean food, I would actually be separated from my family for a really really long time and have no way to just visit them. But I think this experience will be great for all of us, good for me because I’ll learn how to be a real independent adult (kinda), and good for my parents because they’ll finally get used to not having me at home. That said, nothing changes the fact that I miss them so so so much. 

FOOD: Rilakkuma Cafe

Even if mom’s gone, I still have my friends! I went with Phyu and Lauren to the Rilakkuma Cafe, one of many cute themed character cafes in Taiwan! The food was pretty good, but I think the obvious best part of this whole experience was the cuteness.
