Lucifer might get the occasional cut or scrape while out and about just because he has his somewhat clumsy moments, but you’re there to the rescue with the mini first aid kit in your bag. Lilith once handed over one of her favorite lip glosses and perfumes for you to hang onto, and they ended up being designated as the travel lipgloss and travel perfume and you bring them with you any time you’re out with her just in case she needs them.

Lilith values her independence and time, but happily seeks out your company when she wants to be in your presence - she makes it very clear when someone is near and dear to her. Lucifer and Lilith are both rather physically affectionate in their own ways as well; Lucifer likes being enveloped in your arms in a tight hug, and Lilith enjoys petting your hair or resting a hand on your cheek or arm when sitting beside you. Going out for dinner is usually very well received by each of you, since it gets you all out of the house for a change of pace and no one is stuck cleaning up. Shopping is also something you all enjoy, and money is no issue for any of you. You and Lucifer often try to out-do each other in terms of spoiling your relationship partners, which cracks Lilith up. Dates involving arcades and movie theaters are going to be better received by Lucifer than Lilith, as she isn’t the fondest of loud, bright, noisy areas. She prefers spa dates, getting pampered and fussed over, which is something you’re happy to indulge in every once in a while with her.

But you tend to have a camera at your fingertips, always on the lookout for pretty things to take pictures of (and you have two pretty people to snap photos of at your side anyway), so over time you naturally start documenting things, putting them in photobooks or scrapbooks. With drawing being a big hobby of yours as well, you’ve most likely tried your hands at portraits of your partners. On a bittersweet note, these photos and drawings become important to Lucifer, Lilith, and Charlie alike when things start falling apart and Lilith leaves. He obviously doesn’t cope with the separation well, withdrawing and isolating himself, throwing himself into his crafts - you end up being his rock. You’re good at listening and Lucifer knows you won’t judge him for the way he breaks down from the weight of Lilith leaving and having to raise Charlie without her. hi!!! im a very big fan of your work, and as someone who wants to start writing again (havent since i was 14 Dx), i was wondering if you had any tips? the way you write is so well done and impactful, so refined, and it always pulls in me right away. character interactions are so natural, and conversation flows smoothly, the voice for your art is so vivid in my head :] i always look to your work for inspiration, but figured i should ask rather then tearing apart your fics to examine what makes them work lol

i'm putting this under a cut because i definitely started to ramble haha

specifically on finding a writing voice, i'll be honest, i don't know exactly how to describe it—i've done a lot of rp-ing with my best friend and picked up a lot of phrasing and styles from how he writes, but i think what helps me ultimately when i'm writing on my own is just...writing the way it is? i don't worry about making it make narrative sense, if that makes sense? it doesn't have to be flowy and pretty every time, sometimes things just are what they are. i also try to think of it like i'm describing what i see on a screen, so i do a lot of rereading to see if i can picture the scene in my head exactly how i have it written, which means focusing on a lot of weird details. i also spend a LOT of time reading it out loud to see if my voice comes through because that's what's most important to me—i want people to come on the journey with me, like i'm telling the story to a good friend of mine, and they don't mind when i tell them every little detail. ultimately, i write for myself more than anyone else, and i figure that if i'm not enjoying it, few other people will either. writing is supposed to be fun!!

one of the best pieces of advice i ever saw—there's no such thing as bad writing. if you're putting words on a page, you're working on your creativity, and that's the best thing you can ever do for yourself!! i have pieces from years and years ago that i wrote in the middle of lunch when i was 14 that i can still go back and reread and see if there's anything good (you'd be as surprised as i was to find out that i've reused things from that time of my life in things i'm still writing now haha). sometimes if you're in a rut, sit down with an idea you like, set a timer for 15 minutes, and just turn your brain off and write—or set a word count and don't switch tasks until you hit it (like 100 words, 2,000 in four hours, three paragraphs in 15 minutes, that sort of thing—these are all ones i use pretty frequently). sometimes it sucks, but sometimes you'll end up with something you really like, and rereading it means you'll find something you can jump off of later! if you're putting something out there, it's going to be something good, i promise.

the thing about liking an almost 30 year old show is I'm not sure as much about what went on behind the scenes. and a significant part of that is how awesome it was that the fans were just more separate from creators then, like there was no social media and junk for us to to badger them on about things. but the from their side there wasnt a place they could just dump shit on us for fun. things were told through dvd commentaries and magazines published back then or panels and stuff at conventions or even TV specials and those are all very... ephemeral. like I'm sure its all recorded somewhere but it takes a little more digging and hoping fan websites have the info. and thats doable I'm not asking anyone to help me with that btw i just havent done it yet cause i wanna get thru the show first or I'll have one billion spoilers from not being able to stop reading.

but i think the biggest thing for me rn on stargate is, again i watched atlantis first. and that started in and branched off of like season 8 of sg1. so i know a lot about The Ancients, since they were a big player in SGA, and every time something tangenally related to them comes up in SG1 i get super excited and wave my arms and jump up and down for Daniels attention cause i want him to discover Atlantis so bad. im so excited for him and oh god he has his earpods in he cant hear me-

anyways. connecting these two points..... i have to wonder watching things progress how much they planned ahead. how much did they set up like "... yeah we'll decide to make something of that later" and how much of it was "oh dude the fans are gonna FLIP when we make this reveal in two seasons" you know????? i can listen to stuff about gravity falls when hirch and co talk about how they had no idea where they were going. they were like "well he has a twin somewhere. for some reason. and hes..... well hes there." and they literally came up with the everything on the fly. and then even in Gargoyles, which is old like stargate too, i read apparently the writers called each other once like "WAIT HEY THIS CHARACTER FROM THE VERY BEGINNING FIRST EPISODE? HOLY SHIT WHAT IF HE WAS THIS GUY-" sort of twist like.... way into the show lol

was that what was going on with The Ancients? and their whole..... ascended business? Orlin in this episode was very interesting cause i definitely recognized Oma D from a while back as an ancient, so i was glad Sam compared Orlin to her, but this was the first time theyre REALLY like "yup, that monk and myths of the jaffa werent just talk. this ascension biz is for real and a bigger deal than you thought" BUT! they still havent really connected it to the ancients. at all. i dont think daniel even said the writing on the machine Orlin helped build was ancient, and it didn't look like it, but then like.... Orlin also just said he was Human.

and was that true? WAS he human? humans can ascended, sure. but he also made a freakin stargate. in sam's basement. (Obadiah Stane voice) WITH A BUNCH OF SCRAPS!

... he already was the cause of death for people he cared about once for giving away too much information, i wouldnt be surprised if he lied about being human. but also wouldnt be surprised if the writers were like..... unsure and didnt care cause it doesnt matter lmao they were just vibing. you know. idk im sure Orlin and even Oma will get brought up AGAIN later, im only in the beginnings of season 5 after all and know some spoilers that the ascension thing ans ancients become a big deal later but. yeah its just interesting. i like picking apart creators minds for their stories and its just not possible in the same way on such an old show. even if i could ask them, they'd be having to recall through decades of memories that change as they have over the years. and that provides an interesting color on things as well but... its not the same as knowing what they were thinking back then.

i genuinely think ur literally such a good writer like not even just for hawks but for any thing the way u write or see things is just yes chef's kiss. its so true so many people have so many misconceptions about hawks, they love to dumb down him as sad and flirty its as if they only saw two scenes of him and ran with it.. they make him either a extreme pervert (wtf lol?) or "not touchy" also I bet hawks has had a cooking hyperfixation at one point but hawks is actually a really good written character ((most of the time hes just a dude but with a lot of hero training + wings) at first i never liked mha but i have sm appreciation for the characters stories, i hope tumblr doesnt eat this because i sent smth yesterday but i dont know if you got it (it was a fluffy imagine) sorry if u get spammed my phone is shit, i have literally so many random essays abt characters i promise u nobody would be complaining if u analyzed and made essays abt hawks but ur feeding into my addiction of birdman tho😔 point is : you actually see what he actually is lol he isnt stupid he knows what hes getting into.. about getting corrupted from work if that means he can save one more person, he's one of the few characters ive seen written well about lesser of two evils yk? i think thats why hes really likable but also upsetting, when having to do something when they "ask him" when it isnt really a " question"/"ask" its also annoying when people hate him for reasons *(esp with twice stuff)* when he didnt really have a choice under so much pressure and sm consequence.. his personality isnt only just work even though he doesnt get to explore his own likes often i really hope at the end of the manga or whatever he ends up okay cause it would be so tragic if he was a done deal and died or forever trapped in the hero stuff, i havent caught up with the manga i saw some spoilers and now i want too..but even if he does end up um.. :( .. it's okay cause he was still a good written character but he deserves to be in the story still lol

AAAAAH I APPRECIATE THIS SO MUCH!! I love seeing other people pick apart the bird boy too. I agree mha is like, really fun because of the character stories in particular and there's so much care put into how they write hawks. I AGREE that Hawks hasn't had the oppurtunity to really explore who He is outside of his work, like so much of his identity is tied to that and I think he notices that too? It's part of why he thinks about a society where heroes are bored and have too much time on their hands so much (though I think his primary goal is that he wants to keep the world safe; if heroes have too much free time, that means there's no one that needs saving/help).

15: how big or small is their family? who did they live with growing up? do they live with anyone now? arrrgh…i got a little angsty with the backstories when i was coming up with them aheehehe chess ran away from home when he was very young, like a kid. i havent fully decided yet, and it may be subject to change, but i think i pictured him living at the duchess’ house, which would be similar to how it was in the book so not that awesome. idk if that would be his mom or smthg but yeah. but he lived in the tulgey woods after he ran away, which is also where thackery’s windmill is, so they knew eachother growing up. they were sorta friends, what it really was was since tarrant and thackery were friends as kids and tarrant and chessur were friends (tarrant didn’t live in the woods, but he lived near them) they like sorta knew eachother and hung out sometimes. but mostly chess lived alone when they all start living in california, for a while they all stayed at alice’s little apartment, but after a little while the park let them have two 2 bed hotel rooms for some of them to move into, and chess bunks with adonis (i liked the idea of them all living in the hotels at the park that a lot of old fics used, but i just dont believe theyd let them use SIX or MORE of those rooms indefinitely. so they get two ha ha ha.), so they share a room. adonis is sort of a neatfreak which chess teases her about, but they get along pretty well so theres not much issue 24: do they have any creative hobbies? (art, writing, music, etc) yes! you will see in one of my posts in my 12 days of christmas thingy, but chess draws! i will admit i got the idea from wonderland bakery hehe. also obv drumming, i think i said in my post about how i thought mtp characters were mischaracterized that he mainly joined the band cus his friends were in it, but he also just really likes drumming and making music in general 28: how do they show that they care about someone? how do they express that they don't like someone? chess will disappear if hes around someone he doesnt like/doesnt wanna be around them etc, so probably by like. not disappearing lmaoo but no seriously, he picks on all of his friends but he means it lovingly. like hes just messing around. except for maybe mally, i think theyre actually mean to each other, but they can still manage to get along. theyre like friends but they argue every two minutes because they get on each other’s nerves. so thats a pretty good example of what he does when he doesnt like someone but ANYWAY, yeah just being around the people he likes. making a little fun of them. listening to them talk. stuff like that

Hey! I’ve watched all of the show, the nge movies (rebuilds included) and the nge manga and I was wondering if you know of anymore canon/offical nge stories or content. I’ve seen some light novel series at my local bookstore but in general idk if there’s more Eva stories and series out there and what’s actually worth reading. Thanks! I love your blog!

short answer: there is SO much (too much) nge spin-off content and for the most part all of it is both non-canonical and unnecessary. off the top of my head the only thing I wholeheartedly 100% rec is khara’s ‘until you come to me’ animation (amv?), which is really beautifully done and, also, free.

also ive drafted this post like uh......4 times now and kept accidentally losing it so VERY sorry for the wait!! if it seems a lil slapdash i was tired of writing the same stuff again and again lol

extremely long answer under the cut (and links will be in a rb). somehow this became a fully fledged field guide to nge spin off content bc i am physically incapable of brevity so w/o further ado or whatever:

ok so i’ll try to make this as comprehensive + comprehensible as possible but,as I said, there is a loooot of content and I, shockingly, have thoughts on most of it. let’s organize by categories

Manga:

Every single nge spin off manga is bad in shades and variations, ranging from ‘just kind of uninteresting’ to ‘genuine human atrocity’. Raising Project is probs the most well known and is one of my least favourite pieces of content that has ever been put onto this earth. it coalesces all of the worsts parts of both evangelion and evangelion fans and can’t even manage a decent art style on top of that. there is nothing redeemable about raising project.if you see a copy out in the world please do me a favour and tear it apart w your teeth <3

Aside from That, the other big ‘alternate universe’ manga are probably Angelic Days, Campus Apocalypse, and maybe Petit Eva. I do not care much for Angelic Days or Campus Apocalypse but they are definitely not as deeply repellent as sirp. Petit Eva is, as far as I’ve seen, kind of your usual chibi comedy stuff so if youre looking for something extremely lighthearted that might be for you? I havent interacted w Petit Eva pretty much at all frankly so I’m not exactly sure whats going on there.

Shinji Ikari Detective Diary is another AU manga which I have actually been meaning to read for like......ages but have never gotten around to. It’s (as you can probably guess) a mystery series, which I’m usually into, and I havent personally heard anything bad about it, so I’ll cautiously rec looking into it. if you do and find some good scans feel free to send me way <3

finally, there’s Tony Takezaki’s parody manga, which is just like...a bunch of parody/satire comics. I do actually own it (bc I loooovvveeeee genocyber) and the art is great and its genuinely funny (given you like takezaki’s weird, kind of raunchy humor). He has a comic making fun of fan service that ends w fuyutski beating the shit out of gendo as ‘real fan service’ so like. I do genuinely recommend this one.

Novels:

Not a true ‘novel’ but Eva 1 + Eva 2 is an anthology featuring some essays, as well as comics and illustrations. It is a lot of silly shitty fanservice though, so ymmv. I dont own it (yet) but its on my radar literally exclusively because of Obata’s fucking incredible cover art.

The actual ‘novel’ that youre probably talking about is ANIMA, which is a canon divergence exploring a future where Shinji managed to completely circumvent Instrumentality. I haven’t picked up the last volume since it came out last year, so I can’t speak on it as a whole, but I like ANIMA well enough to recommend it. It reads kind of like an extremely dedicated sci-fi/cyberpunk fanfic, frankly, with that same kind of wildly convoluted but entertaining plot and much more of a focus on idealised character interactions and the ‘wow cool robot’ of it all. Actually, its kind of entirely ‘wow cool robot’ tbh, or at least the best parts are, but Ikuto Yamashita (the writer) was nge’s mech designer so that’s no surprise.

the writing is nothing stellar and it can get fanservicey in a very eyeroll kind of way, but if you go in w reasonable expectations it’s pretty entertaining. like i said, it feels very fanfic but in a ‘200k wordcount crazy worldbuilding fix it fic’ kind of way.

ANIMA expands waaaaaAAYYY more on the evas, which can be cool but does definitely indulge in some ridiculous mecha shit and, i cannot stress this enough, a lot of deeply convoluted and absolutely fruit looped sci-fi plot shit. it does actually literally feature something called ‘Super Eva’ and iirc mari is a cat girl who pilots some kind of wolf robot so yknow... ymmv

theres a buuunch of illustrations included and all the concepts for the evas are very cool and the concepts for the kid are very bad. probably it should be illegal for him to draw asuka ever again

Video Games:

there are too many nge video games. way too many. did you know about the typing game??? what about the multiple STRIP mahjong games???? or the pokemon/tomogatchi game where you hand raise an angel from birth while playing as KAJI???? the detective game where kaworu straight up fucking human murders gendo???

they wrung nge for everything it was worth in the 90s, though ig having a million fucking titles was probs super useful for all that tax fraud

some highlights:

Battle Orchestra: this is the only one i’ve ever really played and it is very fun and very of its time. a pretty straightforward fighting game but ft a big combat polygon

Second Impression: this is the second nge game to be released and i am fucking obsessed with it. what i would not give for there to be a translation available. as far as I have ever been able to tell its sort of a vaguely canon ‘side story’ about joining a band and also befriending a new girl who eventually transforms into a giant fucking horrifying bug angel. its a kind of proto kaworu storyline but gross and i want it so SO bad.

rei ayanami raising project: this is I guess basically a pet raising game except the pet is pre-series rei ayanami. you get to choose what clubs and hobbies she has and the coordinating pictures are genuinely incredible and ill 100% be posting some later. nonsense but there IS a dress up portion so like. might be worth.

Angel Rising: this is the pokemon/tomogatchi kaji game and despite how baffling it is conceptually i do actually love the artstyle and am deeply considering playing it myself. also, it does apparently give some good insight into Kaji. a new english translation came out last march so its like actually one of the most accessible of all of these somehow.

Evangelion 2 has the ‘Classified Files’ which is a tenuously canon supplemental info dump, but god is in his heavens and thats all fully available + translated online so we do not have to bother playing Evangelion 2

Secret of Evangelion: I actually know almost nothing about this but ive heard it may have some interesting info on instrumentality? it is very VERY much On My Radar and may be worth checking out

There are a few Petit Eva OVAs which are all in the same silly slice-of-life style and seem mostly whatever except for an episode which is, as far as i can tell, entirely about up-skirting asuka so like. yknow what actually fuck petit eva

MORE IMPORTANTLY in like 2015ish Studio Khara had the ‘Japan Animator Expo’ where they released anime shorts made by a bunch of different people. it’s actually where me!me!me! came from, and plenty of other very very cool shorts were put out during the expo’s run. Another Impact and until you come to me were both part of the Expo and are extremely fucking good. Another Impact got a lot of hype, which was well-deserved but DID briefly spark a whole ‘live action nge’ thing which is, actually, my manchurian candidate sleeper cell trigger phrase. until you come to me is much less ‘flashy’ and didn’t get as much attention, but its so so beautiful and you should all go watch it immediately.

Waymond

So i have been rewatching Everything Everywhere All at Once, on repeat since i watched when it released, its become a sort of comfort movie. i can recite the lines from this movie 1:1 if that gives you an indecation of how much i have seen this. anyways thats besides the point, i wanted to chat about comic releaf and how this movie does it perfectly with Waymond.

by the way, pls bear with me, my writing style is more narrative based than anything else. think of this as a trip into my brain lol <3

life is hard, we all deal with it in different ways. some people deal with it dead on, and try to analyse it all, and decided things based on facts. but some, some very interesting souls, wholeheartedly reject this and seek wholeness in the fact that they dont need to see it all to understand it all. i myself probably fit somewhere in the middle, i feel very happy when i understand things and try my hardest to understand alot of things. but i find alot of safety in the idea that there are just some things that need to be joked about and not analysed at all.

When we meet Waymond he is in a bad place, his marriage is falling apart, his daughter and wife are feuding and to put a cherry on the top of this cake he is ablivious to this all, instead living life as if it was fine, its not, but he is still dancing and making costumers laugh.

Waymond fits into group 2, the people that dont need to know everything, everywhere all at once (see what i did there). BUT this must NOT be taken as these people not understanding the world or being somehow stupider bc they pick a different path. rather it should be taken as just another way to exist.

many comic releaf characters are only that, no 3 dymentionality, just there to cut the tension. this used to work well when movies were shorter and not as in demand. as we start to see things over and over they get boring, we all know this. the thing is though, we need comic releaf in every movie somewhere.

okay lets do an exercise, think of your favourite movie, now think of any scene in that movie serious or otherwise, i can take a shot in the dark and say that if you told a friend about this scene alone they wouldnt think much of it, bc they dont have context, they dont have a build up to any of this. now take a scene that has a moment of comic releaf, and tell this to your metaphorical friend about this scene, i can say with 90% confidence that they will for sure understand that scene better. what i am trying to say is that comic releaf makes things more palettable.

Waymond for almost the whole movie is kind of a joke... he isnt very serious and when he is its out of character for him, but come the 3rd act and its revealed that Waymond is doing all of this by choice, as the world just needs googly eyes every now and then.

this reveal hits so well on 3 levels. level 1 it informs the viewers more on Waymond and forces a reevaluation of him, level 2 it changes how Michelle Yeoh's character, Evelyn looks at he current situation and level 3 makes the comic releaf 3D!!! not only is he doing this to make it easier on himself but also on everyone else. this builds his character of just being a father and caring person, even with his costumers, he is just doing this to make them happier.

when i look at this movie a few things come to mind, 2 scenes the intro to the rocks where its just silence and text to read, the whole saga with the sausage fingers and Waymond as a character.

in closing, im very happy that The Daniels made this. this movie that was really funny, really insightful and really did give me my favourite character in movie history. I wish the them all the best and hope they keep knocking out BANGERS like this one

sollux: incredible perfection amazingness my sun my shining star. ok so basically he got ZERO screentime in canon despite being objectively one of the coolest characters. hes like. a hacker and a little shit but he saves everyones lives multiple times. thats him.

gamzee: i know some people like him but. mm. :/. basically he is a murderous juggalo. hes doped up all the time but once he gets sober he murders a large portion of the cast. so that happens.

feferi: princess! shes either super sweet or very white knighty/privileged. i honestly havent figured it out yet. she didnt get a lot of canon screentime so

nepeta: CAT GIRL oh my god she deserved to live. oh precious sweet nepeta. she draws shipping charts and likes to roleplay as a cat.

eridan: he was a bitch and flirted with everyone who looked at him (and some who didnt). typically hes hated on but ive come around to him more recently since he was pretty young and rereading some of his dialogue is tragic.

equius: hated by most people because in canon hussie uses him mostly for bestiality jokes and jokes about getting off to the idea of authority. i love him though i think he didnt deserve it. if you get a chance watch equius's pesterquest route he is a sweetheart actually. a weirdo but a sweetheart.

the clones bit is actually easy to understand, every character is a clone. they are all paradox clones as in they were never born and they were just cloned from themself via time magic. as for the time travel shit yeah that is confusing as fuck.

there's a popular fanon that john transitions into a girl called june. the author agreed to represent this in canon but then literally never did and the fans who wanted june were robbed. so trans john (june) isn't canon, but she's very popular and pretty cool. personally i don't mind either way.

You wake up to your phone ringing. Half asleep you reach to answer whoever decides to call you this early.

“Yeah?”

Suddenly you’re wide awake. After everything that happened you totally forgot your internship.

What does he mean? He knows? Does he know your here? But how can he know about this place or that you’re here. Wait … havent they talked about him? Does that me your boss … is also one of them? Your eyes widen, you jump up and run towards your door and open it. There it is. Two white packets with your name on it and a black ribbon which says Chanel all over it in white letters. Taking a deep breath you lean down and try to grab them, but then you hear your name. “Y/N!” You shoot up again and are met with Gojo’s chest. “Y- yes?” “Why did Naoya Zenin sent those to you?” “Uhm he - he called me just a few seconds ago and …” and what - your boss sends you a fancy dress and shoes and wants you to come with him on a fancy business dinner? Please this sounds like some unrealistic film or the beginning of an … adult film. “Yes?” “Uhhh he wants me to accompany him to some business dinner …” you mumble and look down at the white packages. “And you agreed?” He asks sarcastically. “I had no other choice … I missed two days of my internship… “ “Don’t you think there are more important matters now?” he tilts his head. “You don’t get it … having this internship in my resume … I‘ll be having so many open doors!” “What does an open door get you when the world is ending?” He asks and tips with his finger on the sport where the mark appeared yesterday. “You … promised me I’ll survive this …” you look up at his bandaged eyes. “ I did - and you will.” He sighs and pats your head before sighing again, “okay then go … but I’ll drive you there and pick you up AND you got to text me every 30 minutes!” “But he told me he’ll pick me up …” “Well he will not - I’ll talk to him.” “But why every 30 minutes ? Isn’t that a bit extreme?” He lifts up his blindfold and looks at you with an intense look. “No - you clearly don’t know him as good as I do. If I could I’d be coming with you to make sure nothing will happen to you.” “O - okay…” you stutter and he smiles brightly while dropping his blindfold again. “Good ! Now go and shower. I don’t think he’ll want you to … smell.” “I- HEY!” You punch against his chest, but it only makes him laugh even harder. He turns around and waves, “The others are already training.” With a sigh you finally pick up the packages and go back inside. Carefully you place them on your bed and get ready for the day. You convince yourself to wait to open them up until you have to get ready. Knowing your clumsy self you‘ll ruin the dress of you open it now. -later- “Wow you look beautiful! The Zenin chose a pretty nice dress.” Gojo whistles and opens the passengers door of his sports car. “It’s a bit short.” You roll your eyes and sit down. “What did you expect?” He laughs and closes the door. You watch him walking around the car before getting into it himself.

During the whole drive you keep one side eying him - what is his motive behind all this? Why is he constantly talking about how to text him whenever you’re forced to leave the restaurant, whenever you see strange and not to forget to text him every 30 minutes. Naoya is … well Naoya but he’s nothing to be afraid of?

The car stops and Gojo turns to his right and looks at you. “Y/n?” “Yeah?” “I’m being serious. He’s dangerous.” “Sure you’re not just jealous?” You joke and raise one eyebrow. Gojo did not take the joke well and now fully turns around in his seat, taking off his sunglasses. “No. I’m not. He is dangerous and I don’t want you to get hurt just because you’re being too naive.” “Naive? My life did a 180 because of you all?! And I just want to have this normal part back, even if it’s just my job.” “Job. This is a fucking dinner. Or dinner with fucking. Who knows what he’s planned.” He pushes his lips into a thin line. “Wouldn’t mind that.” You mumble. “CANT you stay serious for one second?!” “Yes. If you’ll be Nice to me.” You huff and grab your small bag. “Hey - wait wait wait -“ “No. Texting you whenever anything happens and every 30 minutes. Got it. - thanks for the drive.” And with that you get out of the car. Pulling the hem of your dress down, you look around and search for your boss. “Ahhh you look even better in that dress than I imagined.” A hand wraps around your waist and you’re pushed against a board chest. A knock on the window, reminds you of Gojo’s presence. “Let’s get inside and away from .. him.” Without waiting for your responds he Leads you towards the fancy looking restaurant. “The others are already inside.” His hand remains on your waist and you quickly look over your shoulder just to me met with his sharp eyes and a prominent smirk on his face. “Yes?” “Uhm .. nothing.” “Don’t be afraid doll, I’ll be by your side the whole time.” He gently squeezes your waist. “Thank you sir.” You mumble. “Please call me Naoya.” He smiles. “Oh okay.” You turn around again and you hold your breath. On the table you’re walking towards, in a empty room in the back of the restaurant, sits non other than the men thingy you saw in his office the day you were handed the small package. The man turns towards you and immediately you put your hand over your moth. IT ONLY HAS ONE EYE?! “Naoya- what-“ “Shhhhhh I’m here to protect you.” “You’re late.” The thing says. “The Barbie is a Slow driver, had to wait for our special guest.” Napa replies and pulls away a chair on the round table for you to sit down to. Hesitating a few seconds, you sit down, due to a slight push of Naoya, who sits down next to you. You’re eyes are fixed on your hands, which still fiddle with the hem of your dress.

Why are you really here? And who or what is this thing? Is this a curse? And if so- why is your boss making deals with curses? Shouldn’t he be on the human side?

“So that’s her?” The thing asks, his eye fixed on you. “Yes Jogo that’s her.” Naoya says and you see his hand moving towards your thigh, rubbing small circles with his thumb. “So what will be do doing with her?” He responds. “What?” You ask confused and look up your eyes moving from Jugo towards Naoya and back. “We are doing nothing with her.” Naoya says in a firm voice and shoots a warning glare towards the other, who just chuckles. Frightened by the curse in front of you, you try to stay close to the only save source - which as for now is your boss. Your hand moves over his hand on your thigh and he immediately moves his over yours and squeezes it. “When are the others coming?” Jugo asks and leans his head in his hand. “They should be here soon.” You keep looking down on your hands. This was a mistake. Something really doesn’t feel right. Maybe you should have listened to Gojo … the only thing you want right now is to tell him to come and get you out of here. You want to text him, yet Naoya holds your hand tight, with no way to escape his grip. Your bag stands between you and him, you can’t reach it with your other hand. Just as you’re about to think if it’s worth it leaning over and grabbing your bag, the door opens again. “Ahhhhh finally Cousin. ” Naoya smirks. Confused you look behind you and your eyes widen. Two males enter the room. One of them walks straight towards Jugo, his gray hair pulled together in two extremely low ponytails, his whole face covered in stitches. Nether the less the other male is the one making your heart race. “Toji?” You breath out.

Director's commentary on the Twenty-Sixth of December from missing scenes series? 🙏

yesss! don't mind me working through these so slowly, i'm using them as nice little writing breaks 💖

this is a cool choice for commentary, i havent read this since i posted it and i've forgotten a lot, so it almost feels like reading a brand new thing? i remember i wanted to write a soft christmas oneshot, especially because the christmas chapter of safs was that sad 1979 flashback with angsty teen jimmy mcgill and his sads.

“Hey,” he says. He grins, and it actually reaches his eyes. They crinkle.

i wanted this to stand alone if it needed to, but in the wider acb context i don't think jimmy's smiles have reached his eyes for a while! this comes right after the end of chapter 15, when he's just had some fragile validation from chuck and reconnected with kim.

She takes the bowl and the two spoons. Their handles are criss-crossed.

idk why but this always makes me think of those shots in the show of their two briefcases lying together!

with the kim pov stuff, i often try to keep the descriptions limited to simple physical descriptions of things. just their tangible properties like colours or positions, but still try to draw mood from that? i don't know if that makes any sense. it's a little challenge.

From somewhere in the darkness, he pulls out a long-sleeved shirt, one she hasn’t seen before. It’s purple and white and blue, densely patterned. He slips his arms into it with his back to her then turns toward the room, looking down at his fingers as they do up the buttons.

slippin jimmy voice: they have this one shirt that costs one thousand dollars because the pattern's SO wild! i want that one SO BAD!

“What is that?” she says, leaning her head closer. “Is it paisley?” He looks down again. “I think it’s purple?”

s6 give us more dumb dumb jimbo, please, i dare you. "finish... translating?"

“Hey,” he says, settling beside her, “the ladies back home loved this.” “Sure.” She scoops another spoonful of cereal into her mouth. “Sure they did.”

oh for kim to hear that little speech he gave the skate rat twins. all the finest babes. ok buddy sure. and everyone in the bar stood up and applauded.

“Maybe we had an extra round at Arno’s that night,” he adds, eventually. “Threw bottles against the wall. Like fireworks, right?”

a reminder of the story he tells her before the HHM party!

He chuckles and nudges her. “Oh, I meant yesterday.” Yesterday? (And she hears a phone ringing, hears the shrill bell of it on the wall, and she knows who’s on the other end of the line, knows without knowing how she knows it.)

oh shit i'd forgotten how much fun this little technique of intrusive kim thoughts is!

this is making me want to do another kim pov thing. i love thinking about this kind of narrative voice stuff. even that "Yesterday?" is kind of surprising, like suddenly her thoughts are allowed in the narration in a totally transparent way, and then the bracketed part is like... something poking at the back of her mind, even as she tries not to think of it. so much fun.

Lifts her hand from his leg, pressing it to his cheek. Transferring warmth from one place on him to the other.

obsessed with these two each thinking of the other as a source of warmth and light

(And she wants to know how he managed to get through so much life but still look like that, because even when the dark spots come over him it’s still a bright kind of darkness, she thinks, bright and loud like back-alley fireworks.)

aw man, this really condenses so much of their relationship for me.

i love thinking about like... scenes presented in jimmy pov where he's deep in the throes of an emo fit, but from kim's pov she still sees the bafflingly optimistic and scrappy dude who never quits. i really love the thought of this bright golden thing being there in him, that he never sees in himself but kim always sees.

Into his neck, she murmurs, “Yeah, who’d miss this?” and she can feel his laughter on her lips against his throat.

always happy when i can get these two memeing during sex

(And the heaviness of him on her surrounds her, closes her in, closes her in the way you close a circle, in the way you close a door, because being closed is just the touch of things connecting, right? And she can feel everything closing to one warm layer and spreading beneath her skin, closing inside her and him amongst it.)

ahhh i forgot i went on such a tear about this! there's like this duality of meaning that i'm trying to pick apart. you hear the word "closed" and you think inaccessible or cut-off, but it also means things connecting. two things have to touch for something to be closed. i don't know!

“Jimmy,” she murmurs, and he smiles like he always does when she says his name.

this is another one of those things where like... i love to picture acb/safs/siaml jimmy smiling a little identical smile every time kim says his name, and we don't know he's doing it because he doesn't think of himself doing it, but kim sees it every time.

She can feel the closeness spreading beneath her skin again, and it’s like she’s the warm one now, like she’s the one passing the heat through to him, as she finally reaches down and tangles her fingers in his hair. Holds him in place.

LISTEN i know this is him doing down on her but are these not also character arc words??? no???

He hums, and then softly: “Merry Christmas.” She runs her thumb along his crown. “Not Christmas anymore, you know.” He shakes his head, hair catching in her fingers. “It’s still Christmas on the West Coast.” “Ah,” she says. “The west coast. Of—where, exactly?”

i love this dynamic these two do of like... one of them consciously playing the straight man and the other being silly. it's too cute. i love that they trade off the straight man role, too.

His face draws together. And he murmurs, “D’you think his name was really McDuck?”

3 - who is your favorite character to draw/write/daydream about? why?

i answered this here, basically its sasha and hamid bc i love them.

amusingly i was writing a fic involving the two of them and bertie just decided to invite himself over into hamid’s apartment and therefore the fic; he’s awful but it’s also genuinely enjoyable to write about someone who’s that unselfconscious. it’s also interesting to write bc i at least hc that he genuinely cares about hamid on some level, and hamid’s having a pretty bad time at this point in the fic and really needs a friend... bertie is not that friend, because he’s bertie, but he’s pretty much what hamid has no matter how trash he is. writing that balance of hamid clinging to him bc friend! and bertie almost reaching the floor of decency but just. utterly failing is a fun challenge.

13 - if you could choose one of the specials to be expanded into a 7-10 episode miniseries, which would you choose?

confession: i still havent listened to quite a few of the later specials, so i'm picking from a somewhat limited pool. that being said, i think my answer would have to be 4thought. 'other people in your head' is one of my favorite tropes, and i really enjoyed the characters that alex, helen, and ben came up with and the interplay between them. (arian was also great but those three big egos knocking against each other was delightful.) i also just really want to know what the deal was with the necklace and the priesthoods and everything.

but i'm also really interested in learning more about how zolf's family was connected to the harlequins, and just generally what that organization was actually like. i'm especially intrigued by the little bit in their first encounter with earhart where she mentions that zolf's parents basically left the organization, but feryn re-entered, and that while his parents did logistics and planning as did rakefine, she doesn't actually know what feryn did-- and then soon after, we're told that they were spades and that prague and the ruling council there were also spades. (i really want to know what the suits mean; are they equivalent but rival parts of the same organization? specialized branches with different skillsets? so many questions...) 

i have a pet theory that will probably never be confirmed that feryn was somehow involved in bolla smok's death, and just generally i want to know how the prague council accomplished that murder and covered it up.

uhhhhh.....i mean i've been told that my characterization is good? like, ppl being able to picture the actual characters when they're reading n stuff, so that's nice. and i could write introspection forever, u don't even know man, i get in the zone. i love getting in a character's head and picking apart their emotional state

What are your writing weaknesses?

writing dialogue really trips me up because i get picky about word choice lmao. i can be writing uninterrupted for twenty minutes cuz it's all a character's inner monologue but the second they gotta speak out loud im sittin there like ok what words sound natural and how much would they be willing to say etc. etc. suddenly it's an hour later and i've written three lines of dialogue. plus i tend to edit as i go so i'm always stopping and going back and rewriting stuff instead of just finishing the damn story

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

A/N: I’M BACKKK (well, not literally since I have been reblogging stuff and all! ) I hope all of you are doing amazing/good/fine/well and all the good stuff! My life has been really hectic, and classes above all has been a huge thing. I really miss writing and, with uni; its getting quite tough to write anything. I missed writing Bryce but, I am so happy we got our boy back. This story is the end of the Imagines series, I never planned to expand it, but... maybe in the future. For now, this is the third part (I am being dramatic, sjsjskk but.. this is a mini series that I never thought would happen and seeing it got lots of love from all of you. It made me realize why I kept on writing it.)  Also, I apologize if i am very behind on fics! I havent been able to catch up with anything and, I will try to catch up during this weekend! (Hopefully!) I apologize in advance if they are any grammar mistakes since English was never a first language but, I hope all of you will love it! It never occurs to him that one day, his sister will be living with him whilst he tries to survive his life at Edenbrook. But, after that day; it felt like an emotional rollercoaster for both of them. Readjusting, reliving old memories and reconnecting to each other. He never knew that he missed her that much, and Keiki didn't realize that being there felt like she was doing something right once in a while.

It is weeks after their meeting, and things are looking up for both of them. Bryce felt much better knowing that Keiki is safe, as he is learning to be her brother from now on. Or, as Casey would put it; be her best friend that he was once before.

Keiki and Casey are at his apartment as they planned on this special day; Bryce's birthday. Casey had already planned an advanced celebration in mind for him but, both herself and Keiki especially Keiki wanted to celebrate something for him. Casey had slept over at the Lahela’s today, as both of them did some huge planning for it.

After long hours of planning and browsing through 8 million pins on Pinterest for the last week. They finally started their journey on making it the best birthday for him.

Casey and Keiki are hustling on buying confetti streamers and everything needed for a birthday for Bryce. Both of them were enthusiastic to make it happen as it was Keiki's first celebration with Bryce for years.

'We need a chocolate cake!' Keiki exclaimed as Casey let out a chuckle at her excitement.

Keiki ran forward and reached the bakery aisle where there were various cakes in the display making both of them gasped in awe at the number of delicious delicacies that were in front of them.

‘Let’s get all of em!’ An evil look in Keiki's eyes, as Casey felt her stomach grumble in hunger as she hadn't had breakfast even though she would remind her patients to not forget the most important meal of the day.

‘….I called dibs on the rainbow cake!' Casey leaps forward as she had her hand in the rainbow sponge cake that was calling her name as Keiki ran to the other end of the aisle picking up three different types of cakes varied from vanilla, chocolate, and cheesecake.

They meet up at the center of the aisle, as both of them let out a laugh. The looks on the customers who are shaking their heads in disapproval made Casey a bit nervous, as she gets a bit too overwhelmed by the sudden looks. Keiki remembers small info that Bryce told her about Casey, as she immediately places the cakes in their cart and gives Casey a small squeeze on her hand, the same gesture that Bryce would do. It calmed her nerves before both of them smiled at each other. It somehow was a bonding moment, as at that moment Keiki felt like the sister she never had and little did she know; Keiki felt the same way about her as well. They proceed on getting all the stuff needed for Bryce's surprise party before getting lunch.

After a huge number of supplies and food has been brought in their possession, they made it with a lot of time to prepare. There were foods to be served, confetti to be hung, and all the presents needed to be hid as well. Much much later, after three quarters of the home had been covered with confetti, they decided to take a break before a dreaded task was heading their way: blowing balloons. Casey was never a fan of balloons except hot air balloons. Both of them sank themselves on the couch that she knew all too well, and all the memories placed a small smile on her face.

She turns her attention to Keiki, who is relaxing as well. But, Casey figures there is a guarded look in her eyes. Somehow, something there is still bothering her. She doesn't wants to pry on their business, but… it feels like she needs a friend. A sister, or maybe someone who isn’t Bryce.

‘Do you think he will like it?’ She starts the conversation after finally figuring out what to say.

Her eyes falls at the decorations around the house, a small smile appears on her face.

‘I think so, his last birthday party back home was before he left for college… ‘ she pauses a bit, somehow an attempt to recover the memory from the back of her mind.

‘It was his 18th, and I remember he got into a fight the night before with dad. And, I feel bad for him. We ended up having a small celebration of our own, at the kitchen with some of our maids in the house. The maids helped me in surprising him with a chocolate cake, and we did celebrate it with a marathon of cartoons.’ A smile appeared on her face, as she was sucked into the memory of it all.

‘That sounds lovely Keiki.’ She places her hands on her shoulder, giving her an encouraging nod.

‘Thanks, it was years ago… it’s one of those days y’know.’ She shrugged it out but, the environment between them suddenly became tense, as she slowly raise her guard back up once more, somehow a shield was placed in front of her.

There was a silence between them,

‘How do you feel seeing him again?’ Casey constructed her sentence slowly, as the nerves inside of her were screaming loudly.

‘I… don’t know. It was happening so fast, and… I don’t know where to go. I always wanted to see him again, but he had told them about not returning back. I thought he was exaggerating but, I never was ready to not be with him. We faced our whole lives together, and one day… walking down the large hallways, it doesn’t feel right. Coming here wasn't the smartest way to escape but… it felt like I was destined to come.’ Her head dropped, somehow an attempt to hide herself from embarrassment.

‘Hey… it’s okay. You don’t have to feel bad about it.’ Casey reassures her, as they sat in silence once more.

‘I know, I know… I feel helpless at home, and the first thought I have was to see Bryce again. It’s silly honestly…’ She shrugs it off again.

‘It’s not silly to miss your own brother Keiki… I admit, I never even knew about you before our unfortunate meet at the front of the door.. which I am still embarrassed about..’ Her cheeks went red remembering the comment she left before at his front door that was a scarred memory for her. Keiki lets out a small laugh, as she somehow knows what Casey is talking about.

‘Anyways- what I mean to say is… I think he is happy to have you here aswell.’ She stated earning a questionable look from Keiki’s face.

‘Seriously?’

Casey nods, with a huge smile on her face.

‘Yeah, he seems much happier. Somehow, I can sense that both of you are close before.’

Keiki was smiling as she felt much at ease, from the revelation that somehow she didn’t know she was looking for. She stood up, happily with the conversation as they continue on getting the house ready for one Bryce Lahela.

Casey was about to move towards the balloons, before Keiki stops her mid-way earning a surprise look on her face.

‘Keiki, what’s up?’

She was silent, somehow searching for the right words.

‘Thank you.’

‘Happy to help, now all of these balloons ain’t gonna blow themselves!’ She gestures at the balloons that were scattered on the apartment floor.

A laugh escapes from the younger Lahela, as they proceed on the task. A sense of calm overcoming herself. A revelation she didn’t know she needed before.

It was finally 6 p.m. as they are finally done putting up the decorations, as the apartment somehow looks homey and fun at the same time! Both Keiki and Casey both threw themselves on the couch as the exhaustion finally caught up to them, it was a long and tiring day for both of them. But, the results were amazing so they didn’t mind at all.

The sound of the door opening caught both of their attention, as Bryce struts in with a surprising look on his face. His eyes gaze around the apartment, as there were confetti and decorations which are in the right amount. Both Keiki and Casey bolt upright from the couch as they were engulfed into one of Bryce's hugs.

After a while of hugging, both of them shouted.

‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRYCE!’

Bryce’s smile was as wide as the moment where she saw him doing what he loves, the smile that came from spending time with his friends and the smile that makes her heart skip a beat as he is always the one who made her smile. Both Keiki and Casey look at each other in satisfaction, as they did it. It was a difficult task but they pulled through together, and it feels amazing.

The small celebration between the three of them went well, as there were thoughts that had crossed his mind. There were somehow like a family, and… honestly, he felt excited about what the future might hold for the three of them.

As Casey lit up the candles on all of the cakes that they bought, he paused thinking of a wish that he wanted for this year. His eyes fall on both of them, Casey Valentine; the person who has been there for him from the very beginning and the person who is still here despite his past, and his estranged sister; Keiki Lahela, who came on his door. The person who was once considered his best friend years ago, as they grew apart. The fear of his parents barging on his front door was visible, as he has a hunch on them coming to bring Keiki back home. But, right now; it was his moment. The moment that he never had as a child, happiness despite being surrounded by an enormous amount of luxury

He blew out all the candles, as he silently makes a wish which earning a double pair of eyebrows raised at him. Bryce lets out a laugh as he proceeds on cutting the cake. The three of them sat on the floor as they enjoyed the refreshments that were set by both Keiki and Casey which consists of a lot of finger food and a huge amount of party snacks that were already made, as the lack of cooking skills by Casey.

The day is starting to get darker as Bryce and Keiki are cleaning up the mess as Casey is tidying at the front. They were settling on the dishes, as Keiki paused.

Bryce noticed the sudden movement as he stops working on whatever’s left in the sink.

‘I know that look Keiki, it’s the look when you didn’t get to play your toys years ago.’ Bryce teased her, as she punches his arm lightly, a laugh escapes her lips.

‘Years ago, I hated you for what you did. I hated you for leaving home, and I hated you for leaving….me behind.’

Bryce didn’t say anything, as he understood how she felt. When he left for college before, he promised to come back for her. He didn’t keep his promised, and Keiki is justified to feel that way.

‘Being in school, I realized. Understood, how you felt. I understand why you and dad would always quarrel, the way you hated there. And, honestly… I am so sorry for lashing out for you not being here for me.’ Keiki lets out a sigh as Bryce place his arms on her shoulder.

‘You don’t have to be sorry kiddo, I left you there. Sometimes, I wished our lives were much better than what we have been through.’ Bryce reveals as he felt himself reminiscing old times, the happier times.

‘…I think a happier life might lead us on a different path Bryce.’ She raised her eyebrows knowingly gesturing towards Casey with a smirk on her face who is helping them tidying up the leftovers. Bryce smiles at the sight of her.

‘Yeah, maybe. But, one thing I regret the most is, not being able to beat up the kid who pushed you years ago. Nobody messes with my sister.’ Bryce stated with a rage in his eyes, as Keiki shook her head.

‘You’re funny when you are scary, you know that?’

‘It’s one of my specialties, actually.’ Bryce replies with a hint of cockiness in his voice.

Their conversation was cut short, as Casey calls them out for the gift giving session that they planned for Bryce. Both of the Lahela siblings happily walked back to the living room, as the smiles on their faces stays that way for the rest of the day.

After the celebration ended, Bryce and Keiki stood together at the window overlooking the crowded city of Boston where it has become their new home.

She was lost in thought as her eyes stared at the cityscapes beyond her, it wasn't Hawaii anymore. But, the fear of her past creeping up to her was somehow still visible.

Bryce stood there, trying to catch up with past events. Everything was new as somethings were meant to be fixed once more. He pulled her into a brotherly hug, as Keiki tries her best to get out of his grasp. It wasn't a common form of affection for them, but its something new.

The revelation as the past came colliding once more bringing them together after years and years of being apart.

'I am glad to have you here  kid.'

'I am glad to be here aswell.' She smiles as Bryce ruffles her hair a special gesture for the Lahela siblings that made her laugh.

They don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow or the next month, but hey. They wouldn’t sweat it much since life has a funny way of making it work and both Bryce and Keiki have lots of moments to look forward to and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

MallekWeek2020 Day 1 Writing Prompt

Day 1: What happened after Mallek's Friendsim route

If someone told you you would be spending your evening on the less dirty side of a couch belonging to a guy who genuinely thought you were a robot when he met you, you probably would have absolutely believed it. Honestly, you might have felt some relief knowing you would get a break from the usual life-threatening antics. Things might have started out weird, but chilling on someone’s couch was a nice change of pace. Even if there is a giant snake staring at you from across the room, seemingly unblinking. Can snakes blink? Do alien snakes blink? You don’t think this one does at least. You hope Mallek comes back soon.

The two of you had gone for a dip in some sewer water, willingly and otherwise, and had come back up to his apartment to get cleaned up. He offered to let you shower first since he did push you. You let him know you weren’t holding a grudge or anything, but he insisted. You did get a much needed change of clothes out of it though, so that was nice. You offered to see yourself out after your shower, not wanting to overstay your welcome, but he said it was cool. You are now wondering if he was just saying that to be polite. You mean, other people haven’t had much of a problem telling you to fuck off, but you think you are really feeling a friendship from him and you don’t want to risk it losing it because you can’t take a hint. You guess it is too late now, since while you were weighing your option, he enters the room.

Mallek plops down next to you on the couch and you look up at him and give him a friendly smile. You thank him again for being cool about the whole robot and palmhusk in the water thing, but he stops you.

“dude; its cool; you already apologized; were good;”

You relax a bit more at the reaffirmation. People have done worse for less and he felt bad enough to make it up to you. Maybe you are just waiting for the other shoe to drop?

“anyways; im hungry and am getting delivery; what do you want;”

Wait you’re getting fed? Oh he doesn’t have to do that and you don’t have anything to chip in right now an-

“i didnt really expect you to have money; im buying;”

You don’t have to do that, you’re good, you even ate today!

He shoots you a look of concern. Maybe you saying it like that was less than reassuring that you’re “good.”

“im not just going to eat in front of you; come on; plus my original plans fell through;”

You’re about to ask what when he nudges you with an easygoing smile. Oh, he was probably hoping to mess with a robot.

“here; what sounds good to you; i pulled up grubhub;”

What.

“oh yeah you = alien; you can get food off of it; here;”

He shows you his palmhusk and you scoot closer to see the screen. What the actual fuck. How is this a universal constant? Like you know they have a kind of bug theme going on and slap the word grub on things in ways you don’t really get. This still is a lot for you though. He is explaining it to you and you stop him. You fill him in. He chuckles and seems to be amused by this.

“that = weird dude; how about the food;”

Nope, the food is still eluding you. Some stuff seems to have Earthen equivalents and just have bugs or grubs on them or something. Others you have no idea what to make of. He can get whatever he thinks is good and you’re cool with getting whatever he is gets. He puts an order in.

“sure; but grubs = the best part;”

You disagree.

He laughs, “dibs on yours then;”

They’re all his.

You smile at him and it feels easy to do. You ask what you two are doing until then.

“how about a movie; = you cool with that”

Sure!

Okay, you are actually really pumped about this. A movie night with some delivery? That sounds like a really fun night. This is something actually you want to do, instead of just getting through to try to be his friend. You tell him to choose whatever, you haven’t seen anything other than a few romcoms anyways. Plus, him asking you to choose between two movies would take him ten minutes just to get through the titles. He chuckles at this and starts flipping through titles.

“do you like action movies;”

Yeah.

“how about bad ones;”

Like a really cheesy movie?

“yeah;”

Sounds fun. But you haven’t seen a lot of Alternian media, so whatever he picks is going to inform your opinion of his species. No pressure.

You hope he gets that this is a joke. Joking has felt easy to do with him so far and you want to keep doing it. You would hate to ruin it by saying the wrong thing and having him tell you to get out. By the way he is laughing though, he seems to appreciate it.

He grins at you, “okay; then this is going to be accurate as hell; enjoy;”

You’re ready for it.

Except you aren’t because there is a knock on the door. Mallek starts to get up, but you tell him you can at least grab it for him since he ordered it. You bound up to the door and open it with a delivery guy reading off the order for you to confirm. You realize you don’t know what Mallek ordered and the delivery guy looks up when you don’t answer. You also then realize he wasn’t expecting to see an alien answering a highblood’s door, based off of how he was looking at you. To his credit, he doesn’t drop the food. You just just grab it and thank him, basically slamming the door in his face with mild panic. You turn around and Mallek is there. You two look at each other and he doubles over. His laughter is contagious and soon you are too. You eventually collect yourself.

You feel bad, you know the poor guy doesn’t get paid enough for that.

“hes fine; does everyone do that when they see you;”

Depends on if they’re looking for a robot or not.

He chuckles and shakes his head. You settle back onto the couch with him with some plates and pop the box open. You see what looks like a very creative interpretation of pizza covered in mostly plants. And grubs. Cool. You grab a slice and start picking them off. It tastes good, not what you were expecting, but not bad. You grab another slice.

“how = it;”

You let him know you like it.

“enough to try it with grubs;”

Absolutely not.

He grabs one of the ones you picked off of your plate and into his mouth, “suit yourself;”

The two of you get back to watching the movie and you get comfortable. It has so many explosions and unrealistic combat scenes. Which you feel you now have the authority to judge based off what you’ve seen with Skyyla, Remele, Konyyl, Azdaja, and wow actually this is a concerning amount of violence you’ve seen. Hope that doesn’t have any long term consequences.

The acting is also just so bad. Like you know very little about quadrants, but based off of that and how prickly trolls can be, this is forced as hell. They have no chemistry in a love or hate way. God Polypa would be having a field day with this one. The characters are just. A lot. Some douchey main, secondary buddy dude, the veteran, romantic lead. There are so many cliches and you are having fun hating it, wait, did you just accidentally understand kissmesitude? Because of this shitty movie? Damn it.

There is one hacker character who does tech stuff for the leads. He uses a bunch of technical sounding jargon that you suspect means nothing based off of how Mallek is rolling his eyes. You don’t feel too bad interrupting the riveting dialogue.

So did any of that mean anything?

“fuck no; none of that made sense;”

You continue watching it, curling up fully on the couch now. More explosions and fight scenes. You wonder if humans and trolls have more in common than you originally thought just because of how you share so many tropes, just spun a bit differently. The hacker character utters, “I’m in,” and you can’t help it and smirk.

That’s you.

“that = me; you = right;”

This is easy and you like it, Just dumb side commentary during dumb movies.

Seriously, have you ever hacked anything and said “I’m in”?

“no;” he pauses and smiles at you, “but i have thought it;”

You wouldn’t be a real information specialist if you didn’t.

You grab another slice and immediately put the grubs on Mallek’s plate. The hero saves the day and triumphs doing some backflips off of a burning building. The buddy makes a joke that falls flat. The two kiss. Everyone is happy and the credits roll.

You look over at Mallek, sprawled out on the couch, legs on top of yours. He seems to always keep up a cool demeanor, but this is probably the first time you’ve seen him be genuinely relaxed. You wish you could be that relaxed, you were having fun, you really were, but the movie was over now and you didn’t know where that left you. As reluctant as you are to break the silence, you do.

So the movie is done now, do you want me to help clean up before I go?

“it = getting late; do you want to go;”

You hope you aren’t reading too far into this but you think he maybe doesn’t want you to leave yet.

You were down to watch another one if he was.

“Sweet; i =”

You were actually having a lot of fun.

He raises an eyebrow at you when you make this admission.

“Actually;”

Wait, by that you me-

“im just messing with you; yeah; i havent had a movie day with friends in a while; it = nice;”

He said friend! You were beaming at him. He returned the look albeit more tiredly.

“= you ready for the next one;”

You nodded and he pressed play.
