Ignis, the will o' the wisp (it/its)

Ignis is a will o' the wisp turned Sylvari "born" in the Blighted Bog in Dragon's Stand. When Mordremoth died, his loose magic reached a wisp and was absorbed into it, which made it come to life as a sylvari.

With both the dragon's magic and will o' the wisp nature combined in it, it poses a great danger in the area still, despite the dragon existing no more. It can talk to fellow sylvaries in their minds, luring them to the swamp, promising them a place to rest; which is just a mere deception, as it kills them the moment they reach the bog. It also attacks anyone who sets foot or camps in the swamp, making people believe the place is haunted.

Trivia:

Only it knows its own name and "origin".

It prefers to target lone, lost travelers, who can't live to tell the tale.

It also prefers to "one-shot" people.

Its main method of attack is its own elemental magic; it can manifest in its hands and ignite fire with its mind.

Once it stole a longbow and quiver full of arrows from a fallen traveler and imbued it with its own fire magic; so technically it can fire fiery arrows too.

Since no one can actually approach it and it speaks only within minds, it has no need to talk out loud and so is, in practice, mute.

The Earth had a capacity for life. Only so many people it could house and nurture safely.

Humanity hit that threshold long before you were born.

The peace treaty between species made it possible to live among the stars. Some races were willing to share their planets, while others offered space in their ships.

'It's almost like exchange students, but for life- you'd become one of them.'

You didn't feel at home on Earth. Ever since your first breath, you had no place on that planet.

So up you went. 'Above and beyond,' or whatever they told you. Usually, humans who wanted to leave had forms filled out and uploaded to the exchange system.

If you had to call it anything, you'd describe it as 'adoption'. You, specifically, were adopted by yautjas. The deadliest species in the treaty.

You packed your bags, taking your 'goodbye pack' the government provided you with. Laptop, tablet, and other human things 'so the adaptation wouldn't be so harsh'. That's what the flyer said.

"We wish you luck and success in your new life among the stars. It's an honor to have an earthling as brave as you out there."

That's what the video said.

You sling your bag over your shoulder and pick up the government packs off the floor, walking toward the hangar in your papers. You and some others behind you get in line for admission.

Seeing yautjas wasn't new. There were videos and pictures of them plastered everywhere, just like the other species of the treaty. But still, your eyes widened from their bored expression when you saw your admits standing in front of the ship, datapads in hand.

You're first in line, walking up to them and presenting your registration. They repeat your name and information, and you confirm everything, waiting patiently.

"Welcome to the clan." One of them says, nodding at you. You nod back and make your way inside. The ship is a transport shuttle, spacious and high-tech. This was happening. It takes you a second to choose a seat and strap yourself.

The information speech you're given during the trip feels warmer and more welcoming than anything you've heard on Earth.

'Maybe this was a good decision.' You think.

"From today on, you'll be part of our society, which means no special treatment. No special conditions. No buts and ifs." He keeps talking. "Just life as a yautja in a mothership. That's all."

You appreciated the clarity and honesty they had. You expected it to be hard but weren't afraid of working for it. Whatever challenge presented itself for you, you'd beat it. You had survived this far. This wouldn't be different.

Your group gets taken to the housing levels, where each human gets assigned a room. Your eyebrows rise up when you see two grown yautjas in yours.

"Get up, Fang. Our partner is here."

Fang and Claw. Two youngsters from the clan you got accepted into. Written in bold letters at the end of your papers. "Hey," you say as they approach you at the door. "Good trip?" The other one, Fang, asks.

"Yeah, good trip," you answer. You had no idea they'd be so big. "Are you guys really my age?"

"Are you 124?"

"Oh man."

Despite their scary looks, Fang and Claw are what they are. Young. And a little stupid. You somehow felt at home with them. It was nice to be treated like a person and not a number for once.

You get installed in your bunk bed, pull out your laptop, and test the 'fastest internet connection in the galaxy' they had on the ship. A direct link to Earth, in case you want to talk to anyone.

You just wanted access to the shows.

"What's that necklace?" Claw asks. "What's in it?" You look up from your screen, then down to your chest. "It's a wolf necklace."

"Your previous clan?"

"They don't have clans, just families," Fang replies. Claw frowns in confusion, "So your previous family?"

"No, not my family-"

"That's a wolf- so Wolf clan,"

"Claw-"

"I like it," he continues. You smile at the sheer absurdity of it, "Cool to wear your symbol like that."

You laugh softly, "It's not my symbol- it's from a show, a story- the Witcher. In the story, the Witcher comes from a school whose banner is the wolf. Their symbol is the wolf," You play with the pendant between your fingers, "I don't really have a family."

They both stop to listen to you explain. Claw shakes his head, "But you wear it, so it's your symbol. Wolf human from the Witcher school. A Witcher," the word sounds weird when translated from them, clearly adapted.

"Wolf human," Fang repeats, "Nice title, sounds strong. You should keep it," he says. You huff in amusement. "Sure, I'll keep it,"

They barely return to their own unpacking before you look up again. "We should watch it," they look back at you, "- the Witcher-, we should watch it-, sometime." You clear your throat awkwardly.

"It's a filmed story? Like the ones in the human culture lessons?"

"It's called a 'movie'. Idiot."

"Shut up."

You put your hands up before any growling appears, "It's a series- actually. Short episodes that make up for one long thing. Good to watch in between, ah-, training? Missions? Whatever you guys do?"

Claw nods, "Wolf-human story with the wolf-human, I'm in." You smile and look at Fang. "Is there blood?"

"Lots of it."

"I'm in."

You watch the first season during your first night at the ship, only pausing to retrieve your food and for general discussion between the yautjas about how accurate (or stupid) the fighting scenes in the show were.

You have to plug your laptop into the adapted port on the wall so you can keep binging with your roommates, smiling ear to ear whenever they'd say something positive about it. When you finally close your laptop down, you look at them again. "So, thoughts?"

"Don't fuck with magic," Fang says. Claw nods. "Never fuck with magic."

You laugh as they each settle down in their bunks. Fang shuts the lights off as you lay in the dark for a bit more.

"Sleep well, wolf-human." Claw says. Fang mumbles something in return. You smile again, bidding them goodnight before closing your eyes to sleep.

Home, sweet home. Finally.

I was wondering if you had any analyses on yosuke's dances in P4D, especially his partner dances wrt his character/personality... or even just generally what you thought of his moves. I think atlus/p-studio enjoy putting more than meets the eye into the choreography for the dances, but i wondered what the account that does really good yosuke analyses thinks. >:) Cheers

Oh wow you're very kind!! but this is also a very high level ask as I am not at all a dance expert and I'm still working my way through all of the dances, but I will do my best! o7

Long post incoming!

I remember reading an interview which said that Yosuke's dance style is very much inspired by male idols with a hip-hop flair, and I can definitely see it in his dance? iirc there was a pretty strong influence of hip-hop in jpop of that era - I'm thinking about Johnny's entertainment boybands which I think pretty much dominated the jpop male idol scene around 2010 - just look at Arashi's Monster dance routine, which imo is a super quintessential dance of that time. Like Jun's breakdance around 0:45, but also more generally, the sort of precise, rapid-pace footwork and moves that is also very evident in both Backside of the TV and Your Affection. I think it really suits him for a few reasons

Yosuke generally has the highest agility stat and tends to be the fastest char (for me at least? but i've also seen enough fics that reference how quick he moves), so it makes sense that this sort of high-pace dance suits him. Obviously Yosuke has a very good sense of beat listening to music all the time in combat and moving with it, so despite his real world clumsiness, he's well equipped to take on the kind of rigorous idol dance style that's typically very demanding to learn and perfect.

At the same time, it also matches his narrative - Yosuke in canon is very familiar with idol culture, both with Risette and Kanamin Kitchen, so it's not too surprising? But what I thought was kind of interesting was that there aren't really any references to male idol groups in world, and even his bedroom in p4au only shows female idol posters and some mainstream American albums. However, in the interview scene at the end of p4d, he mentions to Yukiko that he's tried to copy moves from stuff he's seen. But his dance style is more similar to boy idol bands - with the hip hop influence especially - as opposed to being similar to female idol bands - which tend to be preppier in dance style (see AKB48 for example). (Or just compare Rise's dance with Yosuke's.) So idk if this is a random oversight on Atlus/P-Studio's part, or if Yosuke is a closet male idol enjoyer (which would be very funny but also on brand for him, especially if he's still in the closet).

The other thing about idol music and group idol dance styles more generally is how much emphasis there is on harmony. If you look at the Arashi video again, there's kind of the expectation that all members are dancing in sync with each other. The thing about that sort of group dance is that you don't really have "leads" and "backup" dances, because no one member is really supposed to stand out or take centre stage since they're all equals. And I think that's a fun thing to think about because, you know, Yosuke Rank 10. But it's also in his partner dances with the others - I feel like Yosuke tends to harmonise with the others and their dance styles the most, maybe he's second to Yu? But Yosuke tends to match his dancing to the style of the other person when he joins them in Fever, like in Naoto's or Chie's (caveat, maybe I'm just Yosuke-biased LMAO). I think there's a lot to say about it because on the one hand, his captain ressentiment attitude means he sees his friends as better but he also wants to catch up to them and be their equals! but also, on the other hand, Yosuke doesn't want to stand out? And him keeping his head down is very much in character for him throughout most of the game, so :')

(but also souyo lens time his partner dances with yu is SO GOOD they mirror one another so well and it makes me so weak)

I think my final point is on how idol dancing is kind of on brand for him as well? Yosuke is kind of a vain person - he likes fashionable clothes! He likes to look cool! (and we love him for it!!) - and I think one thing that kind of marks idol dancing compared to, idk, interpretive dancing as an extreme example, is how idol dances tend to emphasize... looking good? The whole point of idols is to sell them on their aesthetics, after all, and good looks are kind of a minimum criteria to being in an idol group. The dances are choreographed to maximise the dancer's appeal, so it's all smooth moves that present them in the best light.

Those are my extremely long thoughts!! but yeah tldr I think his dance style really suits him on every level I can't imagine anything better for him ngl. Anyone with more expert knowledge feel free to pitch in though

Well you know. This goes without saying.

What made you ship it?

Since I started with the donghua, I would say the hyperspecific scene in the Xuanwu Cave right after Wei Wuxian has gotten branded and everyone's going "fuuuuck", and Chengxian exchange a very meaningful look and Wei Wuxian says, "I have gotten hurt in Lotus Pier before too. When have I not swim the fastest?". The way they looked at each other altered my brain chemicals <3. (Also yes, lmao, the donghua is very funny because it decides to make Jiang Cheng this mega softie in the first flashback and even adds this extra dialogue during the Waterborne Abyss where they are fighting the water ghouls where he tells Wei Wuxian "we have got it" when in the novel Wei Wuxian's narration is like "as usual, Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian were competing". Heartbreaking how they completely dropped the ball after the XiYao conversation in S2 E1). The one that did solidify my stance is the famous choking-crying scene because......yeah, I won't say it. It is always heart breaking to see children lashing out in the moments of grief, especially this one that highlights how they deal with it—Jiang Cheng angry and lashing out, Wei Wuxian putting a hand over his eyes, both not wanting to show that they are crying, the rain starting—the cinematography is beautiful.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

It's about the grouchy "why do you have to always play a hero (for the others, just be mine)" as an act of love, it's about walking away as an act of protection (duty is the death of love, honour is the death of love), it's about the mourning for thirteen years, it's about missing your home no matter where you go, no matter who you are with (because it can never be enough—it's always a convenient excuse), it's about acts of self sacrifice as a love language, it's about the "raging ecstasy" and "vengeful wrath" when faced with your childhood "sweetheart", it's about broken promises, it's about childhood dreams and always wanting to stay together and failing always. But most importantly, it's about a lot of yearning disguised as angry barking (Jiang Cheng) and joking around (Wei Wuxian).

It's also about how no matter what Wei Wuxian is narrating, Jiang Cheng filters into his thoughts. Oh, the kids are flying a kite? Jiang Cheng is there. Wei Wuxian is eating? Jiang Cheng is there. The reverse is true too—they are too intimately connected and impossible to be separated.

Above all, it's about Jiang Cheng bringing Chenqing to the Guanyin Temple in perfect condition and throwing it to Wei Wuxian. Above all, it's about Jin Ling being threatened and in that brief moment of confusion, they start yelling at each other, using "the same voice they used as children".

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I don't think I know enough about the popular opinions to say? Considering the popular opinion people have going on half the time involves arguing on how much Jiang Cheng's actions were justified (what did he do. He didn't do a single thing until Jin Zixuan died and we see him at the Pledge Rally and he doesn't even get REALLY upset until Jiang Yanli dies. Is the problem with the fake duel??? Which is admittedly something you would only see these two come up with, because yes, the only way to avoid a problem is to publicly fall out with your martial brother. But I have never seen anyone express a problem with this detective novel levels of drama, so maybe it's the first siege???) but I don't think most of the shippers have a problem with that? But if this question means unpopular opinion in general, well—Chengxian is an unpopular opinion in general, I think. But otherwise, I will leave this line here:

i have mixed feelings abt "abolishing" gendered categories in sports. i understand people want to use a measurement that is more objective (ie weight or muscle mass) but even then if u did separate sports by muscle mass or something you would still end up with leagues that were like, 95% men and 95% woman. it's frustrating to acknowledge and something i struggled with as a cis woman who grew up wanting to be tougher and stronger and more physically capable than cis men but at the end of the day there is absolutely a ridiculous difference in physical capabilities that isn't just like. made up. as a kid i was always one of the strongest and fastest kids in my class just because i had the desire to prove to everyone that girls were better. but at the end of the day when we all went through puberty i had a really tough lesson to learn. i have a very distinct formative memory of the first time I wasn't able to beat my brother in arm wrestling, despite being more athletic than him, heavier than him, and the same age (we r twins). for me it was an embarrassing and humiliating moment but i kind of needed to see it because i was going around thinking that there was nothing stopping me from being as strong as cis guys.

at rhe end of the day if we abolish women's sports i think we will see a drastic decrease in participation from women and tbh competitive trans people. I think it is ridiculous to bar trans women or women with naturally higher testosterone levels from competing with other women, and i want to see more trans women in women's sports; same goes for trans men in men's sports. I still think though that it is ridiculous to suggest that there's no quantifiable difference between the physical capabilities of women and men of the same size. because by all conceivable measurements that just..isnt true.

I also do think for some sports it is stupid for there to be q split between the sexes but for shit like wrestling/contact sports or football or weight lifting or running etc it's just not a reasonable thing to expect women to be able to compete at the same caliber as men (on average)

tldr. i think sports as they are are transphobic as fuck and we need to start letting trans people compete the way they want, but that doesnt mean we should be abolishing women's sports leagues or completely getting rid of gender divides bc ultimately i feel that women will either end up not participating as much, will be injured more often esp in contact sports, or with other more objective measurements we will practically end up with a gender divide anyway. and part of that wont just be from division based on physcial abilities, i think part of it will be misogyny pushing women out of sports when they dont have their own space to compete together

anyway im not like a sport expert or anything these r just my thoughts based on being a child athlete that had my heart broken by the cruel realities of puberty. im happy to be proven wrong bc i hate that i personally could not compete against most cis dudes even if i trained very hard. its super dysphoric for me LMAO

Day 2: Arguments and Bonding Experience

Gluttony and greed are strikingly similar. Both ruled by the ever-consuming want. Greed is flashy in its presence, you know what a greedy person wants and you know what it means for them to not get it. Gluttony, however, is subtle, it’s never sated, it always needs to be fed. It creaks up on you, slowly, but always there. Maybe that makes it scarier.

Their respective avatars did not often fight. Mammon was drawn to materialistic items, cloths of the highest quality, befitting a god, clothes, of the flashiest styles, jewels, of the ones that shimmer the most, cars, the ones that go the fastest. Whatever it was, if it had a high price tag, Mammon had to have it.

Beel needed food. Not in the way we need to survive but rather to fill the bottomless void of him. Gluttony cannot be sated and therefore, he cannot be sated. He misses the days when he was satisfied. Since the fall, there has been nothing that will fill him. He’s empty. 

So when Mammon (that scumbag I tell you —Levithan [probably]) complains about his greed, angry he didn’t get a modeling gig and that he’d have to look for another one. Beel wants to snap. Mammon and him are similar, yes, but the difference is that at the very least, Mammon will be temporarily satisfied. Once he gets money and buys the next newest shiny thing, he will be full. It’s a patchwork fix and Beel knows it. He knows he shouldn’t get mad at Mammon and that they were perhaps the only two people to truly know what the curse of unending want feels like, but he does.

“At least you can be sated! Even if only temporarily!” 

Beel does not shout, maybe even mumbles it a little, but regardless, Beel is perhaps the most level-headed out of them, if he has a problem he will bring it up in a calm manner and have a discussion. He does not argue.

“What’dya say? What does that gotta do with anythin’?” Mammon asks.

“I’m sorry but I think I should text you my feelings so I don’t say anything rash, I’m angry right now.” Beel said, taking a moment to step back.

Maria: I don't think she believes in "true" altruism; it is hard to live in Kirkwall for any length of time and believe in someone with absolutely no ulterior motives. However, she believes deeply that all anyone can do for the good of the world is help the people around them.

I don't think she believes this is an obligation, because the fastest way to make someone hate something is to tell them they're obligated to do it. But I think she also believes in the small kindnesses people offer one another; she believes in friends who hide lewd novels in your library so you'll smile, in friends who bring you a bundle of herbs stolen from someone's walled garden because they know you're under the weather, in tracking down someone's lost shawl or wedding ring simply because you can. I don't think she could ever find this impulse naïve (though some of her friends certainly think it is).

It would definitely be a silly game for her, because I really don't see her using a pick-up line on someone in earnest (if she's actually attracted, she doesn't know how to handle herself at all and totally fumbles it, as we've seen), but she could riff for hours.

I am now picturing Fenris lying in bed, staring at the ceiling like -.- while she giggles her way through a variety of pick-up lines next to him. Last kid awake at the sleepover energy, and meanwhile he just keeps saying "Maria, I am already---yes, amusing. Are we not already---that one made little sense. No; don't try again. Fenedhis, Hawke, go to sleep." She's laughing so hard only half the words are coming out and it's like. One am.

Anyone else sleep like a dead person? How do you think my usuals (Omen, Sova, Cypher, and Yoru) would react to their S/O having a nice little nap but looks like a damn corpse lmao - Blue

So many of my friends sleep like the fucking dead we have to do living checks when they pass out in public areas (like the living room not walmart). I feel this on a spiritual level lets do it

Honestly the first few times just watched them for a bit to see if they were breathing then moved on. Becomes envious of their ability to sleep through mostly anything and remain unbothered upon awaking. Will move them to places they are supposed to sleep in such as a bed or a couch if they fall asleep else where to avoid alarming any one. Typically also will get them a blanket to make it clear they are in fact asleep. Omen may, if his S/O needs to be awoken, make the other agents place bets on how long it would take or how many people it would take. He knows the ideal ways to wake them though so he does normally win these bets or atleast can easily control who wins it.

Sova himself sleeps like a corpse and runs cold so he really is not phased if his partner does as well. Does get mildly concerned from time to time if it takes longer than ten minutes to wake them but quickly figures out what usually does so the fastest. Him and his S/O give the base the most worry when they fall asleep in any where not their room just due to their corpse status when out, please do not pass out in the training room or commons areas. He also doesn't have any real issue moving them since he is kinda used to picking up the other agents when they are knocked out or hurt aka dead weight means nothing to him.

Cypher wasn't too alarmed when his S/O didn't awaken to him calling them. He was a bit when they didn't even move upon him taping and shaking them. After several minutes he would be very minorly panicking and would have to remove his glove to check their pulse, being very relieved to find them alive just out like a light. Would tease/whine to his partner about them scaring them as well as how they could easily pass as a corpse. Kindly asks them to maybe text him or tell him that they are planning to sleep so he doesn't have to figure out i they are alive or not.

Yoru is a motherfucker who snores a little (like soft snores) but is insanely hard to wake up so he kinda gets being a dead body when resting. This doesn't make him less concerned when he finds his S/O slumped over at their desk or just in an area not moving, responding, and maybe not breathing. He essentially will shake the fuck outta em then scold them for freaking him out before wandering off the continue about his day and let them sleep. Yoru gets used to corpse time pretty easily but will almost always wake you up in the least ideal way possible because he is impatient as shit.

6. Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)

Hal: middle child, and it SHOWS. Hal's character comes off as very attention-seeking at times, always trying to be the loudest, the fastest, the best. while he does mellow out in his later years (somewhat), and as a result ends up preferring to take a back seat to most things, that brash streak still ends up jumping out at the worst of times.

Kyle: only child, very obvious in the naivety in how he tends to navigate the world. independent in the sense he can be fine working alone but easily forgetful that others may have busier obligations. can't seem to grasp why his sometimes-gf jennie and her brother todd just don't get along sometimes. thinks hal having two other brothers sounds immensely stressful.

7. Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)

Hal: a single pair of extremely worn out work boots (they go with everything) held together by a wish and a prayer. maybe only manages to get a new pair whenever he’s working for Carol, but whenever that job runs out he holds onto them for as long as possible because he can’t afford another pair otherwise lmao.

Kyle: a couple pairs of cheap basic New Balance running shoes, hardy enough to get him around town. plain sandals for when it's warm.

8. Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)

Hal: varies wildly. often bounces between couches and an actual bed due to a chronic inability to hold down a steady job and Carol's generosity can only go so far. sometimes his car (when he had one), usually a hotel or motel bed. occasionally, a girlfriend's bed (if he's lucky). as a consequence Hal cares little in the matters of personal decoration, only that it's comfortable and he's got plenty of blankets. as nonsensical as it sounds my literal ideal for him would be pretty much the exact same setup we see at the beginning of Top Gun: Maverick. something with a connection to fond memories with the easy option of continuing a life on the road. otherwise as a drifter where he sleeps isn't all that important.

Kyle: simple typical nyc apartment. kinda small, kinda eclectic with Kyle's artist tastes. just enough space for himself and occasionally his maybe girlfriend. double bed (so never a whole lot of room when said-maybe gf is over). covers never made. mismatched pillows. and covers. superhero themed sheets. a shelf full of toys and actions figures. his art easel is nearby.

i'm always but especially now in 2 minds about voting. I think its most impactful in local elections thats from my experience the easiest and fastest way to enact some kind of change so i think that is something that i will continue to do. But its hard on a federal level to be lesser of two evils when they both include facilitating genocide yknow. But at the same time not voting for the "liberal" party would allow for the conservative party to come into power, and that would only make things worse because the baseline in most western countries is that regardless of party they support israel. The people that go just don't vote don't give any actual alternative so its like what the hell are we supposed to do?

it's def trickier for the us (where i think ur from?) bc u guys only really have 2 choices hm local elections are def more tangible but federal level is so...like "lesser of two evils" doesn't really hold up anymore, does it? but then again i also don't think not voting can be the solution either. we do have more than 2 parties (we have 8 (or 6 depending on how u look at it) parties in parliament rn) in germany but like 99% of them are pro-israel so there isn't that much choice either lmao there are smaller parties u could vote for but i feel like that's almost as if u wouldn't vote bc parties have to cross a 5% threshold to get into parliament...and throwing away ur vote seems very dangerous atm bc the far-right party is gaining a LOTTTT of support which is just so fucking shameful for germany. oof idk i wanna go live in a cave, it's all so bleak

Oh yeah also to be exact for stream purposes, average playtime from all 60 reviews is 10-12 hours, but total range is 8-15, double for a 100% playthrough. You do have to progress in the side content to progress in the main story (complete x missions/get x points/get to x rank type of deal), and you'll probably want to progress in the side content to level up since it's money-based and that's the fastest way to make money. I'm pretty sure the variance comes from getting sucked into the side content (probably not likely for your playstyle) or having trouble with the bosses at a lower level (they're apparently pretty hard this time).

It also looks like the Infinite Wealth demo is split into two (an adventure mode with the extra cutscenes and another one that's basically the demo we've seen around). Adventure mode Allegedly doesn't have proper saves at the time of writing (this was an annoyance for one reviewer so I assume it's long enough to warrant that), so it's worth taking that into account too. Anyway that's about it lol don't quote me on any of this because my brain just shut off after a certain point <3

˚ ♡ ⋆.˚ Bang Chan: Randomly flirting on accident but unable to actually flirt on command. I can openly make 'flirty/suggestive' comments and throw 3 (very) inappropriate jokes in a row to casually respond in a conversation, to the point where my male friends keep assuming I'm flirting with them (I'm really not, that's how I act around people In comfortable with). But if you put me in front of someone I have a crush on, I become hella awkward, I can't even ask them a casual question without somehow messing up, make it make sense 🤷‍♀️ (why did Daddy Issues start playing while I was typing this last part, ffs)

˚ ♡ ⋆.˚ Lee Know: Passive aggressive, semi offensive, sarcastic but still caring comments. Well, just being 'cold' and moody in general. At this point, I get a genuine compliment and turn it into a self depricating joke. Even in deep, meaningful conversations, I tend to throw in dark comments. My fellow STAY friend has actually said that I give off Lee Know energy sooo here it is, I guess 😅

Like, I could just be casually talking to my friends about, let's say, cartoons, and once I find out we all watch the same thing, I verbally keyboard smash, lol (you should see me when I find out people I hang out with listen to artists I really like, the other day I found out a girl we met recently is a fan of Weekend and Chase Atlantic, and the scream I let out, gosh). I also do this when I'm really irritated, annoy me enough (or talk shit about something I'm passionate about) and I'm competing with Jisung Changbin Seungmin on who can talk the fastest. I'm talking angry rapper Kim Seokjin level, that's how I am 😂

Mainly during spring/summer, because in the winter I'm a depressed potato sack, mood so low I procrastinate getting out of bed 🤣 But yeah, it makes no sense, I take my time to get dolled up just to take a hundred selfies (half of which I hate and probably delete) and then go back to watching dramas while eating takeout in my hoodie. Stupid but honestly a nice little confidence boost, a fun activity between crying sessions imo.

˚ ♡ ⋆.˚ Han: Platonically calling my close friends 'babes', 'honey', 'lovely/my love', 'sweetheart' etc (I have also considered using 'papi chulo' as a joke 😂) It just happens mid-convo, especially when a friend can't decide on something. Usually in a passive-aggressive tone, like "Sweetheart, we talked about this a million times already, can you shut up?" or "My love, can you please wait for ONE fucking moment so I can finish doing this?" (and then I use 'dude' and 'bro' romantically, wow Noni, you and your weird brain 👏)

˚ ♡ ⋆.˚ Felix: Baking sweets out of the blue and sharing them with friends/family. I find it surprisingly relaxing compared to cooking (why does it feel so fast paced, lol) and seeing people enjoying what I've made makes me really happy 😊 Not saying I dislike cooking, I'd just rather make chocolate chip cookies at my own pace than stress over the second failed fried egg and the burned bacon 🙂

˚ ♡ ⋆.˚ Seungmin: Jotting down my dreams either in my notes app or in a journal (if they're interesting enough) mostly because I leave sarcastic remarks on them in the margins (might make a post about that) So when I want to have a laugh, I go back to them because they're so random and stupid but they always crack me up 😅

I don’t think I’ll ever be over how amazing your art is! Every time I see it, I’m blown away!

I’m totally freaking out to see what comes next for your Shadows&Lights/ShadowLightAU, and there’s only 3 pages excluding character designs out! (I count cover pages as part of comic pages.) Ever since seeing your character designs for Sonic and Shadow - which by the way, can I say just how much I love their markings? Also, do Sonic’s glow in the dark since he’s “light”? - I was stoked to see how the two’s relationship developed enough to where Shadow realized Sonic’s body is low on energy and gives him a bracelet to help with that.

Also, how do you make your art? Traditional for the concept design and then digital for the touch ups, or is it all digital?

OKAY FIRST OF ALL CAN I SAY HOW MUCH OF A SMILE JUST READING THIS PUT ON MY FACE (literally my jaw and eyes hurt from how hard I smiled lmaoo) 😭😭😭💕💕💕💕

It brings me so much happiness whenever anyone gets excited over my content. Anywho time for me to ramble because I cannot help myself lol

With the markings along Shadow and Sonic's arms and legs, I was inspired by Shadow's quill design. Every time I looked at Shadow, I always thought his quills formed a downwards arrow so I decided to apply that to Shadow's arm + leg stripes and have Sonic's markings point in the opposite direction. The markings, especially Sonic's, were honestly very spur of the moment. Originally, I was planning to give Sonic some really awful scarring underneath the sports tape, which he wouldn't even remember where they came from in the first place (just like the first few years of his life lmao). But my brain literally went "teeheehee shadow is down and sonic is up" so the scarred legs and arms were scrapped.

In the AU, Sonic knows his markings look very unusual compared to the majority of Mobian stripes and fur patterns. The first 5 months of him being "aware", people would stare and comment about how "alien" or "unnatural" the fur looked (especially the giant "17" s on his hands), so he covers them with sports tape

Plus, he doesn't really like his markings to be in his direct line of sight since they also creep him out a bit and force him to think about the fact that he doesn't remember almost the first whole decade of his life, what his name used to be, his incredibly unusual speed... which he is proud of, but still finds it all to be very eerie.

Also Sonic's markings CAN glow in the dark, provided he has enough energy at the base level to do so. One of the ways his body has been able to continue functioning for so long, despite running on what is basically a heavily depleted battery, has been to shut down certain nonessential/non-survival needed functions. This includes a severe decrease in speed and certain other abilities and a lack of glowing along the markings when no light is present.

While Sonic still is the fastest thing alive, he isn't nearly as fast as he used to be at the A.R.K Facility (or when his energy is at a more normal and regulated capacity). He is constantly tired and is frequented by awful nightmares that he can't remember when he wakes up.

But yeah, when Sonic's energy is restored, his markings AND EYES can glow in the dark (he becomes "Sonic the Night Light" lmaoo)

Sonic and Shadow's characteristics are a bit more tweeked in the AU (cause Boom, while I love it, didn't really give me a lot to really go off of, especially Shadow lol) namely, when it comes to their emotional we'll beings:

Sonic in the AU is a lot more emotionally closed off and even goes as far as to deny the existence of his own emotions anytime anyone asks, he doesn't really see a need in himself reaching out to anyone, because what does he have to be sad about (oh boy if only he knew what was coming for him). He always strives to be the picture of a hero with an unwavering resolve, but always offers himself as a shoulder to cry on for his friends. He is good in nature, forgives very easily, and cares for everyone but himself.

Shadow, on the other hand, is more open with his emotions. He sees no real reason to hide them, so much so that he sometimes decides to make it everyone else's problem (hence him being so angry he tried to blow up the universe that one time). Other times, he'll just confident in Rouge. Though Shadow's biggest issue is being unable to let go of certain feelings, namely his festering anger towards the world, and that he holds onto grudges. He is also too afraid to care for others, though Rouge is a start to changing that.

Sonic's unwillingness to acknowledge his own emotions was one of the inital reasons Shadow felt very antagonistic towards him when they first met. This belief being that Sonic had some awful secret to hide, when really Sonic just... doesn't really know what to make of negative emotions, considers them to be unimportant, and therefore doesn't bother reaching out to others.

The relationship between these two is going to be a very interesting one to develop over the course of the comic.

As for how I make my art, it's all digital (with the exception of sketchbook doodles whenever I have a new idea in mind I want to save for reference later, but don't have immediate access to Medibang Paint)

Also in regards to all my digital art and animations, I do it all with my fingers because I keep losing my stylus like an idiot lmao
