i adore wildly off-canon designs but honestly, excluding bonus alternate designs that i sometimes purposefully make off-canon for fun, i think i do happen to tend to stick pretty close to book descriptions? besides a few things like swapped eye colours and blatantly ignoring canon body types here and there, anyways. i think the closest thing is multiple instances where i give a character extra black, brown or ginger spots to make them kind of like a tortie/calico when they aren't canonically, like with these guys!
