I feel like I have a fundamental disagreement with how a lot of people view being inclusive.

To a lot of people, inclusive means using language that includes everyone, all the time. I'm thinking about the breadth of the aro community here, and how some positivity posts about certain parts of the spectrum could actually feel alienating to other people.

Loveless aros aren't going to have the same needs as queerplatonic partnering people, or aplatonic people, or lovecore people, etc etc.

It's near impossible to be consistently including the entirety of the aro community when discussing aromantic issues, and if that's the basis by which you're judging inclusiveness, you're going to be spending more time policing language than you are finding your place in the community.

To me, inclusiveness should be about more of us feeling comfortable sharing our experiences--finding the overlap and the differences and celebrating them both. We're never going to get very far if we spend all our time feeling excluded and never move past it to put our own voices out there.

likes are basically meaningless to content creators, and they also give off the vibe that you like it enough to keep it in your library but not enough to share it with your friends

I think one of the funniest parts about people leaving their thoughts in the tags of posts is that they’re doing so to be polite and deferential towards the op (good, cool, very fun aspect of the community) but these thoughts will often be peer reviewed by other users, screen shorter, and added to the post as a mutual validation that the writer’s thoughts have been deemed good enough to become part of the structure of a post wholegrain y’a dig

oh plain ol' love. in the beginning of their relationship i imagine they'd be just as playful, teasing and mean with each other as they had been when they were just friends but maybe one of them's having a bad day, something doesn't go right on a mission or one of them gets too close to kicking the bucket and they need something other than frantic sex or playful banter as frank watches television.

they'd be so scared to ask for cuddles or little kisses and frank doesn't think he'll ever get enough of matt's nervous fidgeting every time he bent down over the couch and kissed him on top of the head or on his cheek until he wakes up one morning with matt's limbs tangled with his after they swore sleeping in the same bed was only practical - matt having sustained a mild concussion. yeah, that definitely beats the cute fidgeting.
