was talking about dfk with my mom and i mentioned how uli & matz hadn’t really been mentioned in regard to the 2023 adaptation. and she said something like „their relationship is a big part of the story though. i mean, they’re not a couple, but they both really need each other and matz feels guilty because of ulis accident“ and my mind kinda trailed off there cause i was hung up on „uli and matz are not a couple“
but you see it? you see that they act like one? you see how gay it is?

The spinjitzu family has recently become my roman empire for some reason, you’re all going to see so much of them 😭
Anyway, i’ve been thinking about his relationships with his sons recently. And I know he doesn’t have a good relationship with any of them.
I know people argue ‘Wu was his favourite’ but i think if we actually look at how he acts, you realise he didn’t really have a favourite. I also feel personally inclined to respectfully mention that just because Garmadon said it, doesn’t make it true. Characters have biases that mess with their worldviews after all. It’s like saying Wu’s to blame for the devourer’s bite because he said he was. Even though he was like seven, maybe nine and had no idea that snake even existed.
Thats why you should take everything they say with a grain of salt and then consider their actions.
Wu’s relationship with his father is complicated. In the spinjitzu books he mentions how he wants his father’s approval, but doesn’t know how to start with getting it. We also get hints of the FSM’s (flawed) parenting methods in the show. I’ve noticed he’s emotionally distant even if he’s physically there. I mean, Wu says his father talked to them (Garmadon and Wu) less after the Aspheera incident. Makes me think that the FSM was definitely not there emotionally.
Due to this, Wu’s emotional needs as a child weren’t really met. His fathers distance hurt him and the FSM (maybe accidentally) neglected him. I say accidentally because i’m pretty sure the FSM is a traumatised child soldier who doesn’t know how to properly cope with everything so they just shut down/dissociate.
Wu was also raised with high expectations (alongside Garmadon.) This probably put him under a lot of stress to keep up. I’m thinking gifted child who got burnt out and more depressed as he aged.
I also think the FSM has trust and paranoia issues. You can look at Nineko and the way they went about dying for this. This guy really hands their son a script of where he died without telling him he gave it to him and mentions the bare minimum details. (I wonder if mentioning too much details got the FSM hurt. Maybe thats why he’s so distant.) Of course, trauma doesn’t really excuse being a flawed parent.
I also feel the need to mention that Wu unintentionally copies his father’s trauma responses. Heck, we could even talk about how Garmadon does the same, and later Lloyd. They all bottle their emotions and issues and hope nothing bad ever happens with that ever. Too bad for them though, we know how this ends
(Oof this is ✨generational trauma✨ at work)
Moving on to Garmadon, we know that after he got bitten by the devourer, the FSM helped him through his episodes and tries his best to find a cure. From this i can honestly say that the FSM did love and care for his sons. But this doesn’t mean they knew how to properly show that they did (especially because he doesn’t have a proper basis for what parent-child relationships should even look like.)
We see this when we get to know of Garmadon’s insecurities as a child. He doesn’t think there was anything wrong with him and seems to hate how the FSM tries to find a cure for him. Maybe because he doesn’t like the implication that he needs ‘fixing’ more than anything else. Garmadon’s also different than Wu in the sense that he grows more resentful of his father as he grows older whilst Wu clings to his father’s attention to get approval/praise.
I also want to mention how this resentment built up also affects how his perception of Wu’s relationship with their dad. He thinks Wu is favoured probably because Wu doesn’t have the venom and is the good one (because the venom apparently makes Garmadon the ‘bad’ one) and he sees his younger brother as the golden child. This probably built to jealousy and then guilt for the jealousy because Garmadon does love his brother a lot.
The high expectations also come’s into play here. It probably puts a lot of weight on Garmadon’s shoulders. Which doesn’t make his growing feelings of resentment better nor does it make his insecurities about his venom any better.
What makes this whole situation worse is that NO ONE in this family knows how to communicate. Wu doesn’t tell his dad or his brother how he feels, Garmadon doesn’t as well and FSM wouldn’t be caught breathing a word of his feelings to be honest.
This whole family would rather die than communicate ffs.
In conclusion:

One of the things i find really interesting about Nubbins’ character is peoples perception of him depends a large amount on what their character interpretation of Bubba is.
I’ve noticed that fans who interpret leatherface as being a victim of his family, or not much of a person outside of his disabilities, tend to have a more negative view of Nubbins, often lumping him in with the abusive family member label (even though the opposing canon shows him being the one abused). This being further carried by the Jason x Leatherface comics, solidifying this interpretation of the character to some viewers.
Despite being in the same home circumstances as Bubba Sawyer and despite also being mentally disabled (Both Gunnar Hansen (leatherface) and Ed Neal (Hitchiker) referenced real life mentally disabled people for their performances) his character is treated as more capable and held to higher scrutiny not only by fans but by Drayton Sawyer himself in canon.
My own character interpretation of Bubba Sawyer affects my opinion on Nubbins also, which is probably why I like him so much. I see Bubba as someone who is more capable than people give him credit for. Especially within the family dynamic. He’s not just the physical strength of the family but he has the skills of all family members combined whilst also filling in for the roles of family members which are missing (aka grandma).
Maybe it’s his violence being more on the unpredicatable side or a specific scene or interaction that people are put off by him. I would love to know other people’s thoughts on it bcs I could be slightly biased.

fate fandom poll results! (higher res, since tumblr has crunched it)
these are the big patterns i noticed. if you want some more commentary on the numbers, come and join me in the read more:
I first want to reiterate that I did this as a way to see if I was in a bubble. By the end of the poll, it received 93 results. A lot of these responses did come from tumblr and twitter (thank you friend for posting onto your twitter), and so, the demographic that is being polled is biased. Please keep this in mind.
Overall Age/Satisfaction:
Overall, more neutral or people upset with the fandom.
Older fandom - these numbers also do align with the perception that fate fandom grew in size with the pandemic
Shoutout to the 1 person who said they were in the fandom for over 15 years. I'm saluting you
Shouldn't have been surprised there were zero 20+ years responses, but hey, yk, if you don't put it there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gender:
I also did this because I wanted to know how gender of characters played into whether a character had 'nice' or 'rude' fans.
Note: I put any characters that have gender ambiguous or gender: unknown in the non-binary section. So this does mean that characters like Astolfo, Caeneus and D'Eon are in this section. While the general fandom may not see some of these as non-binary, it's easier than doing a big asterisk. I'd love to run another poll examining the way trans and non-binary characters are viewed by the fandom, but that's for another time.
Thus, my method was: I read the response, and for each character listed, I sorted them into one of the 3 gender options and tallied it as a point. So, for example, if someone said Avicebron, Medea and QSH, then that would be one point for male, one for female, and one for non-binary. Groups, unless they are specifically one gender, were not counted, however I did keep them in mind (see: later on).
If someone specified popularity, I tallied that as well. For the 'nice' fans, there were only nice comments about 'low rarity/less popular' characters, with the opposite being true for rude fans and popular ones. Hence their bars.
I also included the 'none' section, as there was a non-zero amount of people answering with none, for both.
Tumblr media
Male characters' fans are perceived to be kinder 1.8 times more than fans of female characters
On the other hand, female characters' fans are perceived to be meaner 1.7 times more than male characters
Specifically, some stated that they do not trust 'male fans' of some characters
Some gender non-confirming and/or non-binary servants (like Astolfo, Mordred) also have a similar rule, aka "do not trust male fans"
Younger characters like Taisui and Voyager often have 'nice' fans, while younger female characters have 'rude' fans
In the future, it would be interesting to take data on gender to see the main demographics answering these
As I am trying to remain as unbiased with this data presentation as possible, I will just leave the data here. Again, if I redid this poll I'd ask for gender metrics, and maybe try and spread it to reddit spaces for less polling bias.
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
When looking at specific characters, I sorted through the responses and counted how often certain characters appeared while accounting for repetition. Simple as that.
Top 10 Characters Associated with 'Nice' Fans:
Arjuna (16)
Dantes (10)
Gilgamesh (10)
Voyager (9)
Diarmuid (6)
Cu Chulainn (5)
Enkidu (5)
Ashiya Douman (5)
Oberon (5)
Mandricardo (5)
Couple extra things to note:
groups mentioned often: GUDAGUDA, KOTRT, Hindu Servants
Kintoki mentioned rather often, too
People highlighted that they like seeing people talking about characters that are less known/less popular.
Avicebron did appear on the top 10, however I have excluded him from the list as it is likely due to polling bias. Thanks, though.
Besides Enkidu and Ashiya Douman, the top 10 list is dominated by male characters.
Top 10 Characters Associated with 'Rude' Fans:
Morgan (20)
Artoria (15)
Cu Chulainn (13)
Melusine (12)
Rin (12)
Astolfo (11)
Jalter (11)
Gilgamesh (11)
Arjuna (10)
Castoria (9)
Couple extra things to note:
As mentioned before, some replies were 'Saberface fans', 'Prillya fans' or 'male fans of x'
People highlighted disliking fans of 'popular characters', some specifically stating their dislike stemming from fans pushing a 'need to roll' mentality upon the fandom.
Male Ritsuka appears more frequently as 'rude' versus female Ritsuka.
'Rude' fans are often associated with being fans of non-FGO properties (namely: Prillya and F/SN).
People who show up on both top 10s: Arjuna, Cu, Gilgamesh.
There are also some less popular characters who were highlighted more often as being 'rude'. However, considering the fact that these characters likely do not have that many fans, I have not included them in the data. That being said, if you wish to DM me about them I'll share. I just do not want to drag anyone, you know.
What's Next?
Maybe in a year, I'd like to re-do this poll. Namely to see if the overall satisfaction changes. But, there's there's a few things I'd like to add to the questions next time:
Gender and Maybe Sexuality Preferences
As mentioned above, I think actually taking data on the gender of the participants would be helpful. Further, sexuality would help understand the data. I do not think it's a big leap to suggest that this poll is low on responses from male fans, specifically straight men. But I would like to have the actual data, and not just a hypothesis.
"Which character's haters do you find rude?" question
As my friend pointed out, as well as some of the responses - some of the haters of a character are ruder than their actual fans. I think this would be interesting, too.
Branching the poll out so it catches more attention from the other side of the TM fandom.
While I would like to keep this predominantly to the tumblr and twitter side of the fandom, it's clear that the results tend to veer on the side that is more FGO-focused. I'd like to get some more data from those who don't play FGO or focus their time on non-FGO property.
Post it to other places.
This was a fun trial run! Maybe I could run a separate poll next year, so there's two: one shared only to tumblr, and one to twitter/reddit. I am, at the end of the day, someone who loves data and would love to compare and contrast fandom perception.
Have an option to share characters who's mind you've been changed on.
Sometimes, it really just takes one person to change your mind on a character. I'd like to highlight that.
I believe? That's everything? I tried my best to be as unbiased as possible in presenting the facts. In a reblog of this post, I'll share my further (biased) thoughts at a later time.
I'm curious to see what you guys think! Did this make sense for you? Are you maybe surprised? Ultimately, thank you for responding to my silly lil poll, and I hope that these numbers don't make anyone upset.

Golfy is literally one of my favorite cats of all time and I adore the way you’ve characterized her!! Any fun tidbits to share? I want to know more about the woman
There's a sketch of her floating around if you want to go on a treasure hunt! I don't have time to look for it right now (I am currently in the trunk of a clown car), but I've actually drawn a beta of her design and her big mane
Also note: BB!Goldenflower is part of the Doekin line. Speckletail's perception of herself and her family is tied strongly to being Doestar's niece. This association dies out with Thornclaw in BB!OotS as he's the last one to strongly value this legacy.
Golfy's mane is so poofy, unmanageabley poofy. She keeps it braided
Lionheart just surrendered to entrophy on that one lmao. "Dirt happens."
It's my little way of trying to show the difference between the siblings.
They're both proud and honorable, but Lionheart is more calm and patient. He's a Que Sera Sera kind of guy.
Goldenflower is more fond of the expression, "Fortune favors the prepared."
Note to self: Clanmewnize these expressions. Que Sera Sera is notably quite RiverClannish... Golfy's phrase is definitely from early ThunderClan
Not to get too distracted but I recently got this FANTASTIC idea for how to close out Book 3 of BB!DOTC on a bittersweet note, involving The First Boarhunt and Clear Sky being delightfully devious as always. Maybe it would be cool to put that phrase there... anyway.
She had three siblings total, Lionheart, Mistleclaw, and Snowkit. It's really difficult being the last one; family was extremely important to her.
Mistleclaw wasn't even a year out of apprenticeship; you're really considered an ADULT adult after being on your own for a year. Losing her was like losing a sibling who's college-aged. That was to the plague, before Firestar's arrival.
Smallear was openly the father of all four of them, but Goldenflower hesitates to call him Ba. Him and Speckletail had a really toxic on-again off-again thing.
Smallear was closest to Mistleclaw, who coincidentally looked the most like him. Goldenflower is like... "yeah thats what i expected of him, that fish-eared loser"
She's biased in favor of her mother though. Lionheart was more chill with Smallear; not CLOSE but, neutral-positive.
It wasn't entirely Smallear's fault that the relationship kept falling apart though, to be clear. I use toxic in this use very much on purpose, it wasn't abuse, they really cannot get along.
So when Goldenflower eventually picked a mate, she REALLY just wanted a stable lifepartner that would not be like that.
I would describe her relationship with Tigerclaw more in the terms of an "arrangement." Fishing for romantic information from her is VERY funny because she just like. Doesn't "get" romance.
Brambleclaw: "Mom... what did you... like about dad?"
"He was large, we were both very large. And he was a responsible warrior, respected and ambitious. Well... at the time we believed that. And he spoke with great confidence. He had a way of making you feel like you were both safe and powerful by his side."
It will not even click for her that most people don't open the answer to "why did you love x" with "he was tall like me"
(VINE BOOM AROACE FLAG)
She wanted kits and a partner. She doesn't regret the relationship, she regrets what he made her believe.
On Tigerclaw's end, it was mutual. They both liked each other as trusted Clanmates. He was attracted to her and reciprocated when she proposed a mateship, but I don't think he ever really got over Spottedleaf romantically.
Plus, getting into this family was a smart political move. Having Speckletail's approval was VERY useful.
I might stick Goldenflower as Head of Hunting through TNP to early Po3, until she trains a successor, since there's no rush. I have an allegiance list floating around but I can't remember off the top of my head if she's where she should be
She's actually super disappointed in Tawnypelt for her choice. I don't think they ever reconcile this, they're both too proud
So she's kinda iffy on that alliance with ShadowClan. Not to the point of spite, but she does easily believe stereotypes about them.
"A bunch of holdouts of TigerClan and duplicitous fiends over there."
Both Golfy and Tawnp miss each other a lot, but again. Neither one is going to apologize to the other or say the other was even slightly correct.
And Golfy wouldn't accept it if Tawnp even did. She made her choice. They're in different Clans now. She chose her father, who killed Swiftpaw and Lionheart.
And for that, Golfy will not forgive her.
If they ended up in a battle, neither would hold back. They both know this.
I'm really fond of her. She really is Speckletail's daughter and the whole family has a special flavor of pain and pride.

This is for the people who claim that Jikook don’t hang out anymore, and thus are not ‘real.’
So, I’m one of those people who discovered Jikook just by watching a lot of BTS content, simply because their behaviour is impossible to ignore if you’re even slightly open to seeing it.
But even though Jikook definitely interested me, I wasn’t very emotionally invested. Even so, I kind of feared being wrong and completely misunderstanding the situation.
(Which is always a possibility when we have only a part of the information, only some of the puzzle pieces of a much larger picture. And as much as BTS has shared with their fans, especially in previous years, it’s really just pieces, most of which have been curated with the fans in mind. Also, confirmation bias is an extremely powerful thing).
So yeah, I was weary of believing anything fully, no matter what the truth appeared to be —retaining a healthy level of doubt, and all that. And I’m sure others can relate, because I know many Jikookers are very fearful of doing anything even comparable to delving into the delusional territory of, say, T**kookers.
But at some point I realised that my reasoning was utterly flawed. Like, I was so afraid of being irrational that it made me irrational? The way I would relate to Jikook was overly critical, shortsighted and ultimately embarrassingly imperceptive.
It all basically boils down to, well, precedent. Patterns of behaviour (it’s sounds so obvious, but I was kind of blind to the significance of this for a while so maybe others are, too).
Of course things change, circumstances change, people change, that’s the way of life. But things don’t happen as isolated incidents. This also pertains to Jikook. Not considering context, both immediate and preceding, is more likely to give you the wrong impression, than if you look at something through the lens of prior knowledge. That doesn’t automatically make you biased, nor your perception flawed.
So back to Jikook not hanging out (assumption) and therefore no longer being close (assumption based on an assumption). I’m not saying this absolutely can’t be the case, but I struggle to see why people are so quick to believe it when we have years of consistent patterns of behaviour that go against this.
Just take a step back, think ‘big picture.’ What do you think makes more sense:
1. That Jikook no longer spend time together, that once the solo chapter began they suddenly grew distant?
Or
2. That Jikook are probably meeting up as always, just without our knowledge, at a time when we see so little and when it is also to their benefit that they aren’t too closely associated?
That’s not even taking into account their many recent Vlive interactions, which are basically steeped in adoration.
My point is, I think some Jikookers are so concerned with keeping a rational attitude that they end up veering into irrational thinking. But there’s no need to complicate things, when you don’t get too hung up on the details the picture is really quite clear.
Also, on an unrelated note but not really at all, Letter exists —like, how amazing is that?

I'm gonna turn that meme around on you: Venti and Jean? :>
(ask meme)
Ty :D
Honestly my answers will sort of be an inversion of yours: Jean as someone I really appreciate but I'm not actively into and Venti as unhealthy obsession and fandom bicycle. (Thanks for introducing me to that term, lol.)
Jean
How I feel about her: I don't brainrot over her for her own sake, but as my de facto main in co-op, the permanent healer in my overworld team, and one of Mondstadt's most important characters I'm very fond of her. She deserves more breaks. So so much.
Her design fascinates me too; if you use the alt version of her default outfit it looks very modest and like everything's covered when she's standing still, only for more skin to be exposed on her upper torso when you run or otherwise move around. It feels like a visual reflection of how she hides/suppresses the more human, emotional parts of herself to perform her role.
Romantic ships: I'm not actively into any but Jean/Lisa just makes sense to me. Lisa is such a fun character to bounce off her. You've got me intrigued about Jean/Eula and Jean/Kaeya as well, and I should look into Jean/Diluc too.
I s2g her voice lines make her sound like she's starting to have a crush on Traveller too. That could be really wholesome; they could periodically show up in Mond, speedrun solving a ton of citizens' problems, and whisk her off to beautiful corners of Teyvat she'd never dream of having time to visit otherwise. And they both have sibling issues... I'm selling myself on this as I type it, dear lord.
Platonic OTPs: All of the above are also wonderful platonically. Also Jean and Venti!! God!!! I neeeed more interactions between them; it's a massive shame the game never showed us Jean or Diluc processing the Venti-Barbatos reveal and the religious crisis that would definitely cause. Especially for Jean! I wish this oneshot was a longer multichapter so badly.
I'm fascinated by the idea of them having a lot in common under the surface, especially if we compare Jean to how Venti may have been in Mond's cultivation period. Even their outfits have a lot of design elements in common!
Additionally, considering her parallels with/idolisation of Vennessa, I love the idea of Venti having unresolved guilt/unprocessed trauma about whatever happened to Vennessa in the end + maybe her overworking herself for Mondstadt until her death, and him screaming internally watching Jean go down the same path. I can't get enough of fics where he helps her relax for once. The two of them should go on some long field trip where they coax each other into acknowledging they're people that feel things.
Unpopular opinion: Not sure I have any! I'm not familiar with general fandom opinions about her but I'd be surprised if I saw someone severely mischaracterising her, tbh. She doesn't feel like a difficult character to grasp. Maybe my perception's skewed since I tend to obsess over human dumpster fires, though.
Something I wish would happen: mainly (gestures at the platonic section), but seconding you that we need her to make progress with Barbara too. I'd love to see her be dragged into more shenanigans with Diluc as well, though I'm biased as a combined-Diluc-and-Jean main.
Venti
How I feel about him: I probably need help with the amount I think about this goddamn character. I didn't truly understand the term 'comfort character' until I started obsessing over him. I project onto him a bit too much and I want to emotionally smash him to bits and scrape him together again.
Even without the brainrot, he's just fascinating; he's clearly a significant character that will almost certainly be tied to massive lore drops later on, and the vague hints about him having time powers mean that even the way he fundamentally experiences reality can be theorised about with wildly different ideas being equally valid.
He has me freezing up at every damn mention of wind and/or time and/or music in this god-forsaken game. And there are a lot of them.
Romantic ships: as I said, he's the fandom bicycle for me. Everyone gets a ride. I especially love zhongven in multiple permutations, and their longevity means fanworks for other Venti ships can easily slot in past zhongven as well. Otherwise I really like kaeven, I used to be more into diluven but kaeven has completely eclipsed it for me, and I'm really intrigued about the potential of furiven as well (though I usually approach that platonically).
Non-romantic OTPs: any of the above if not being done romantically, plus Venti+Jean and Venti+Vennessa (see Jean's section lmao) and Venti+everyone in old mond- especially NB and RHW. And I really really want to see him interact with Furina. There are so many people he either has a fascinating relationship with already or has potential to.
While it's not a ship, I find the idea that he's slept with the Tsaritsa at least once pre-fallout very funny.
Edit: Venti having a non-reciprocated crush on Vennessa is interesting as well.
Unpopular opinions: I'm not sure I have any in a tumblr fandom context? Maybe that any ships between him and a mortal who's grown up worshipping him (like diluc/venti, jean/venti, etc) would be a lot more of an emotional minefield for both parties than people tend to explore, with the mortal having to go through a religious crisis while Venti clearly just wants to be treated like a person + could be paranoid as hell about whether their consent to anything is genuine.
That's not a criticism of those ships, though! The opposite, actually. I'd love to see a long fic that really digs into that.
Something I wish would happen: ...there are so many things I could put here. The main ones are a) a Venti-is-Barbatos reveal (and maybe a reveal of his darker secrets, like any abyss ties) to all of Mondstadt, forcing him to stop avoiding his problems for once, and b) for Venti to be pushed into a corner and/or go apeshit and reveal just how much he was lying about his power level.
I need a Vennessa-Venti reunion as well. Please please please.

your rambles are music to my ears... sadly it can't be considered canon i think but the evangelion event fueled my ae addition, and i recall a scene where ein wanted to sacrifice the children and tesla was like 'wtf is wrong with you, you changed lieserl' and ein was just like 'yeah, people change.' though she seemed fond of mei that she knew as a baby; knowing in canon that her father ryoma worked for ae and that she knew kiana extremely young as well i can't believe they wasted the potential of lieserl getting attached to the trio more than 'let's sacrifice them it is life' perhaps my perception is biased but back in the vn lieserl used to be the youngest, and seemed to be the most philanthropist among the group (excluding welt) implicitly at least. she was always trying to reasure him and let him live his life, barely minded tesla's antics, questioning edison's mindset bc it was harmful to mankind, they even decided that ae would use auto pilot mechas and not women as valkyries. tesla was far from misanthropist but she seemed more like 'life is life ?' now the tables are somewhat reversed, ein became a cold vessel with clearly morally questionable choices and tesla is the one grieving all their loss explicitly, esp those closes to her like joachim, welt, emma etc (even during a scene when talking to theresa, in present, she wanted to choke otto what all the bloodshed and what ae went through)
"headcanonical ramble" for a reason. Now here's my little events ramble-
Hell yes in the context of the event this was an insanely morally difficult conversation they had. And not just in this event but in general I think they have this interesting tendency of calling each other by their first names when they have some serious or intimate moments and they want to talk not with the mask but with the soul? (or when they tease each other, of course)
Tumblr media
Can we also appreciate this scene? A masterpiece!
Tumblr media
I'm sorry but can I also mention the Rosemary's event? I can't help but love that plot twist when it was revealed that Joyce didn't actually die and his soul was in Joffrey's body all along and Tesla and Ein were so bad at mourning him that Ein's poor acting skills gave themselves away? 😂
Tumblr media
Idk I love all those events in which AE take part for they can be both dramatic and tragic as the eva and rosemary ones or they can be totally chaotic and ridiculous as Gemina Invasions (we've never seen the continuation of it have we? Like Tesla is forever stuck somewhere across Bubble Universes with Bronya on the bike trying to catch Rosa and Liliya and Ein is forever enslaved by the Jinn for the sake of instant noodles debt lmao) or this Odd Drifter einsla moment still lives rent free in my brain:
Tumblr media
Once Upon a Time in Shenzhou was also freaking awesome. Especially the part when they had a breakdown and came to two options which are either blow up the whole place or
Tumblr media
Ok sorry back to the topic
"now the tables are somewhat reversed, ein became a cold vessel with clearly morally questionable choices and tesla is the one grieving all their loss explicitly". Yeah, agree, nicely phrased. And this drastic psychological change is what I love about them but I can't help but wonder will this ever lead them to some sort of a conflict, especially with Joachim gone. Because Tesla often complains about Ein's "morally questionable choices" but it seems like she can't fully understand Ein's behaviour or do something with it. Maybe at this point It can't be fix. So I hope that the writers won't forget about them as a deeply written characters and they'll have the third and probably the final wave of development.

Trans Rant #1 🏳️‍⚧️
Okay yall I just need to rant for a second. I’ve had all these thoughts on my mind and I’d love to get it out somewhere. I feel like I’ve reached a milestone in my ”non-cis journey” I don’t know wtf that milestone could even be but it’ll make sense in a second. I’ve finally gotten to a point in life where I’m feeling good, or at least better, about myself. I feel comfortable using only they/he pronouns right? Now though because I finally feel safe and comfortable doing that I also feel hurt so much more often. I’ve witnessed this in my lifetime but experiencing it is a different story. Experiencing people constantly misgendering you, not perceiving you as the gender you are etc. Even when it’s small like my manager slipping up occasionally it hurts because I know that they only see me as a woman. I’m not a woman. I’ve never ever been a woman. I hate that it took me this long to figure it out and I’m so tired of people not taking me seriously. The small things fucking hurt now. They didn’t used to.. maybe I wasn’t convinced of my trans-ness yet because of some deep personal biases and hatred. Now that I know though? Like I KNOW for sure. I see the small mistakes and I see people not trying, not caring, not understanding the impact misgendering someone can have. Luckily im also so much happier. I find comfort in myself so much more than I ever have in my entire life. I finally have a better understanding of myself and how to heal. Knowing who Scout is has been a fucking gift and I’m so happy I finally figured out who that really is. I love that I’m finding myself. I’m starting a medical journey to help that process very soon as well and I cannot wait. I’m so much happier than I used to be but I’m also occasionally worse. I can’t wait until I get to the point where other peoples perception of me doesn’t fucking matter. Or until people stop perceiving me as a woman. Whichever comes first I guess 🤷‍♂️ anyways… that’s it yall.. thank you to anyone who actually read this whole thing I love you and I love that you cared enough to read this whole thing 💕

I sent this ask to someone else but I'd like to ask more systems - may I ask what your opinion is on subjective reality within systems? Systems that don't have consistency in the headspace, or a consistent timeline, consistent memories...that sort of thing. I'm struggling a bit with that now and it's really freaking me out :( so I'd love to hear your take, if you'd be willing
Hey there! Yeah for sure, we'll take a crack at this. First, though: Content warning for discussions of reality, subjective reality, unreality, etc. If too much that stuff makes your brain unhappy, maybe skim or skip this one.
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling a bit rn, Anon. It's not fun to feel like you don't have "solid ground to stand on", and having to deal with not having a consensus about your autobiographical narrative can be really frustrating and scary.
Lemme try to come at this from a couple angles. First off, I'll say something about how we think of big-picture philosophy, which is that everyone has a subjective reality to some extent. There's a reason it's called "consensus reality" not "objective reality", and that's because no two people on earth are having the exact same experience. Perception is biased, memories slowly alter every time they're recalled, interpretation differs wildly depending on context. The human brain isn't an accurate recording device, it's a pile of synapses telling stories to itself in the dark.
So what do we do with that? Philosophically, that's a big question, and I'm not gonna pretend I have all that figured out. Learn to yourselves stories that give your life meaning and purpose. Practically speaking, though? That'll depend on what you're struggling with specifically, and what you're hoping to change.
For example, let's take memory consistency. The two of us have generally pretty consistent memories (e.g. we agree on what events happened rather than having conflicting memories about it), but we also have a shit memory overall--we've described it like we're living in a sliding window of 2-8 days, and everything else is kind of a mess since around 2019-2020. We also have ADHD, so that doesn't help either. What do we do? Honestly, just super basic stuff like "keep a calendar notebook that we write stuff down in to keep track of it, and don't worry if it's not perfect or fully complete", "set alarm reminders for non-routine things we don't want to miss, like medical appointments or phone calls with friends", and "check in with each other when we can, to ask if we're missing anything (and just to say hey)". We also know our memory is affected by our overall dissociation levels, so just generally trying to take care of ourselves and slowly improve our life situation is pretty likely to help, too.
On headspace consistency, though--I'm actually a little confused by what you're asking. Are you worried because your headspace isn't static and changes a lot? Anon, with love, that shit is so common, I wouldn't be worried about it in the slightest. Our headspace is a whole mess, for instance--not only is it different based on whether you're in "my mind" vs "L's mind", even the small handful of semi-consistent places and/or 'themes' change around all the time, not just day-to-day like the weather but also evolving over time, especially as we learn more and process more stuff and experience more things. Hell, my exomemories don't even all have a consistent continuity. And even the "semi-consistent" aspects of our headspace basically exists in a sort of...Schrodinger's Headspace superposition, most of the time? For example, there's a whole, like, Hades/The Spirit Realm in there--except when it doesn't exist, or when it's wrapped into some other part of headspace, or retroactively never existed, or was all just symbolic anyways, or is personified in one of my facets instead, or...well, you get the idea. If you're looking to create a bit more solidity in your headspace, it's usually possible to develop more 'concrete' headspace locations by practicing visualization over time--this can be guided meditation stuff, writing about it, collecting a moodboard of images, constructing a model of it in minecraft or another "virtual space-builder" game/program/whatever, etc. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't happen overnight, this stuff can take a bit of practice to solidify.
Timeline consistency: yeah. That one can be especially hard to avoid when you have between-system-member amnesia in general, and/or multiple periods over your life where there were different main fronters. We're not experts on this front, but a lot of it, as far as we can tell, tends to come down to just...trusting each other, as a system. You've all got pieces of the puzzle, and some folks' pieces are written in map coordinates while other folks have cryptic, symbolic riddles--they're all important pieces, even when they conflict. And sometimes you have to kinda let go of trying to ever Perfectly Reconstruct Exactly What Happened, and focus more on what you want your life to look like now and moving forward. Not sure if that system member's exomemories are 'purely symbolic/emotional' or have some basis in physical events? Ask them how they want to deal with it, and what support they want. Sometimes the narrative is more important than the events, because the events themselves are gone. They're over. What we carry with us--everyone, systems and singlets--is the narrative we've told ourselves about the events, and that's the part that grows and changes with us throughout our lives.
Anyways, that's my take on it. Hopefully this gets at a bit of what you were asking about, Anon? Feel free to toss us followup questions if you want, thanks for the opportunity to talk about all this a little. -S

Covered eyes in BSD
I've seen a few people mention that covered eyes mean the person doesn't see the world clearly or lacks perspective. But I wanna take this one step further and say that these characters put effort into limiting their own perception of the world and themselves. Let me explain:
Firstly, we have mafia Dazai keeping one eye bandaged, even though, for all we know, he didn't need to because of a wound. Something I noticed as a cosplayer is that the longer I do that, the more I'm forced to turn inward towards myself, and I usually and up feeling quite dissociated from my surroundings - there's an obstacle that doesn't let me move beyond what's already there.
Mafia Dazai was described as a child trapped in an inescapable darkness beyond what anyone could see. He's cut off from the world, because no one can reach him. But he's also cut off from the world because he's cutting himself off even further. He joined the mafia thinking that getting closer to violence, surrounding himself with darkness even outside of that of his own mind, would maybe solve his desperation. For all we know, he's making himself live among toxic waste, in a bare container that no one would approach. Even there, Verlaine finds him sitting in utter darkness.
Oda also mentioned that, for anything he could be told, Dazai would have already prepared a counterargument to disprove it. Mafia Dazai is not susceptible to hope, to anything that might challenge his darkness, and he doesn't allow himself to be. He can't afford it - he thinks that the moment he dares want something, he will lose it. The thinks that being given a new perspective would only cause pain: darkness existing in the dark is more understandable, more congruent, than darkness seeing the light and being unable to reach it, unable to understand how those around him can. If those around him see him as the Demon Prodigy, and if trying to be something else will only highlight his emptiness and bring forth emotions he's never learned how to process, he's gonna commit to being the Demon Prodigy. So, he gives up trying to escape the darkness, and tries instead to make himself at home there.
There is also Kouyou, who, albeit in very different circumstances, chooses to keep herself in the dark as well. In contrary to Dazai, she did attempt to escape and failed, and it hurt. She's not being forced to stay in the mafia anymore, but does so anyway, because the pain of being there seems to her more bearable than the pain of seeing the light and then losing it. There is active participation on her part, and we can see that from how she tries to apply the same to Kyouka: there is urgency in how she tries to convince her to stay, because if Kyouka left and was happy, that would challenge her worldview, which she was not ready to challenge herself - she had to keep it intact.
Another character is Verlaine, whose right eye we don't see. The fact that he isn't human, that he will be lonely forever and that he should hate the world as an extension of the people who created him, is all he let guide his actions. No matter how much Rimbaud cared for him, he couldn't allow that to change how he thought of himself: as someone whose existence will never be understood, and as someone who should never have existed. Realising that he can't change his own nature, he perpetuates its consequences, rather than try to find companionship despite it.
Let's contrast Kouyou and Verlaine, for example, with Chuuya, who was also at one point forced to be in the mafia, and now chooses to himself. A difference between him and Kouyou is that, in his case, it's not a choice that he made by denying a part of himself. Even after Dazai essentially blackmailed him, he was ready to question his own skills as a leader and be open to learning from that "choice". Both of them choose to be there, but Chuuya's choice, at least in the present, seems to be less defensive, in the sense that it's based less on cognitive biases. That's not to say there aren't parts of himself that he doesn't want to look at, but being a mafia member isn't a result of those. And, contrary to Verlaine, his uncertainty about his nature made him do essentially the opposite: try to be among people instead of closing himself off in his suspected inhumanity.
Of course, I don't mean that these characters created their own pain. What brought them there does, in fact, exist. Verlaine really isn't human. Dazai was actually incomprehensible by others and trapped in his own mind. Kouyou did have a person she loved taken from her. All those things are true and it only makes sense for them to affect what someone can or can't let themselves see - it's what they thought they had to hang onto to keep going. I just wanted to comment on how I think there is effort on their part to keep their perspective limited, to maintain their constricted view of themselves and of the world and not let anything else in.

So, before you hit your romance limit, can I request my two Black Clover OC ships? Solid x Rosette and Fuegoleon x Lital. You probably need to read their profiles first, if you haven't yet. I have a tag My Black Clover OC ☘️, hope it will help you. And to give some platonic bond too, Acier & Nozel and Finral & Gauche too?
Hi there Vilandel, and thank you so much for the ask! I'd be delighted to share some thoughts with you. 💕
Solid x Rosette
I am so happy you sent in this ask and told me about Solid x Rosette because this ship is absolutely my cup of tea (and not just because they're not super gooey and romantic. [A/N: Me neither Sosette] though I do have an affinity for more pragmatic couples who are very devoted to each other even if they're not super traditionally romantic and/or are more private about their affections). The big appeal here for me is that I've always had this intense fascination with arranged marriage to lovers. I have no explanation for this, but it's an absolutely fascinating dynamic to me and something I really enjoy exploring. I'll admit that maybe I'm biased because I also chose the arranged marriage to lovers dynamic for my own Black Clover OC x CC ship, but I think it just fits the nobility and strict social order of the Clover Kingdom so perfectly in my opinion and works so incredibly well for the story you've created for Sosette.
I love the idea of Solid entering this arranged marriage because "it's what you do," but then finding himself engaged to someone kind and perceptive enough to see beyond his haughtiness to realize he isn't just a shallow snob. He is moved by the fact she trusts him, and she brings out the best in him by believing it's there. Then he has his little panic moment of "Oh no! I fell in love with my fiancee!" This is the good stuff! Also, Rosette is super cool in her own right, and I adore her (and her friendship with my girl Charmy! YES!!). I love that she's so calm, collected, and perceptive. Also she's a detective? That's so awesome (and the Poirot reference had me squealing). Also, her glass magic sounds super interesting! I'll admit I never really thought of Solid Silva as a romantic being before, but Rosette's profile and your little one shot about them sold me. They're canon now. I don't make the rules.
Lital x Fuegoleon
Lital sounds lovely as well, and her backstory is really compelling (especially the story of her adoption which was so moving and so wholesome). I love the slow burn nature of her relationship with Fuegoleon, their long history with each other, and how they bonded over being on the same magic knights' squad. I'll admit I'm not as feral about it as Sosette (seriously, I just adore that ship now), but it seems like a very sweet pairing and I'd definitely be on board for it too!
Some Platonic Bond Thoughts Too? I'm So Spoiled! 😁 Thank you so much for this! Platonic relationships are truly my real passion, so it means a lot to me to be indulged to ramble about them as well.
Mother and Son: Acier and Nozel Silva
The bond between Nozel and Acier is so incredibly compelling to me. It's nice to see such a healthy and wholesome mother and son relationship, and the series does such an incredible job of showing just how much Nozel's love for his mom and his desire to make her proud and live up to her legacy has motivated and affected him. I adore them.
Finral and Gauche Friendship
I don't think I've ever really thought about this one before, but as soon as I read your ask, I had this very vivid thought of them bonding over gushing about how much love their younger siblings (I'm sure Langris would hate that...but luckily he's not there 😂😅). That said, it's a little hard for me personally to imagine that Finral wouldn't get on Gauche's nerves, so I'm not sure I can see them as besties in the same way as Gauche and Gordon for instance, but I do like the concept of an unlikely friendship between them and them bonding over their roles as big brothers. 😊

Thoughts from reading Yona of the Dawn Ch. 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's interesting how Hak views Soo-Won and Yona as an inevitability. He also sets himself aside for the two of them. And his phrasing: ""I've been watching them for a long time" – he positions himself as an outsider.
"I want them to be happy together."
But oh! does he look sad. He does not consider his own happiness or desires. He doesn't allow himself to. And part of that comes from duty and part of it comes from his genuine affection for Yona and Soo-Won.
And maybe...like Yona, he puts the happiness of the one he loves above himself.
Part of the conversation on selfish/selfless love: is it selfless to put the happiness of your loved ones above all? Or is it selfish because it puts your wants above all (if what you want most is for them to be happy) + because you do a disservice to them by hiding your own feelings?
But that "I want them to be happy together" over King Il's blood dripping from Soo-Won's sword– oh, it is so good.
Soo-Won literally slicing through his bonds to Hak and Yona (and King Il). Or at least trying. And while Yona is obviously not happy, though Soo-Won accomplished his goal, he's not happy either. (Sorry Hak, you don't get your wish).
Tumblr media
We get Soo-Won vs. Yona, with the legacy of King Il between/hanging over them.
Also enter the phase of determined Soo-Won and wide-eyed, shocked Yona.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"What are you saying? Y...you're not...someone who'd do that..." "You have no idea." – Soo-Won calls out and emphasizes Yona's ignorance, shatters her world and point-of-view. All that mattered to her was Soo-Won and he says she didn't even know him. And after taking King Il's life, he leaves her with what must feel like nothing (she has Hak, but not here, and I don't think she realizes his importance to her yet).
"Why...? My father...cared about you so much, ever since you were little..." "That's true. And I loved King Il very much." Soo-Won not only shatters Yona's world, but complicates it. Shows her how things are not what they seem and not straight forward. Life and feelings are messy and tangled. Soo-Won loves King Il but still killed him. And love was what Yona thought she understood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"People called him a coward and said he feared battle because he was kind. However...that wasn't the truth. Not a shred of it was true." – again, the parallels between King Il and Soo-Won: "You have no idea [who I really am]" + everyone's perception of King Il "wasn't the truth." Soo-Won believes what both he and King Il presented to others is not who they were/are underneath. That their kindness and smiles acted as masks. But that is just what he believes. I think he's lying to himself in saying that there's no truth in how they acted and were perceived by others.
"The throne is not what matters to me. I'll continue to fight on the front lines...to defend my brother and our people" – Soo-Won's version of history, like Yona's belief that her uncle died in an accident, seems biased and like it contains some false information. There's more to the story here. But Yu-Hon's assertion that defending the people matters more than the throne speaks to Yona and her future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yona cannot believe that someone she loves would do something like this. How can the Soo-Won who gave her the hairpin and the one who killed her father be the same person?
Again– Soo-Won shows her how things are not what they seem and not straight forward. Life and feelings are messy and tangled.
Her understanding of the world will have to be made anew.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
"Why did you come here, Princess Yona?"
"I wanted to tell him...that I'd never be able to give up on you. I wanted...to tell my father..." – Soo-Won is shocked by Yona's dedication to him and her quiet strength and determination.
The contrast in their reasons for going to King Il hits hard. It's almost an act of violence vs. an act of protection, an act of revenge vs. an act of love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The contrasting shades of Soo-Won–and he switches between them all so quickly. Who is he really on the inside?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"This is for the good of the kingdom" – words hanging over Yona. I know he means her death, but I think Yona + her life moving forward is really what is for the good of the kingdom.
"Did he hate me? For so long...ever since I was little...Soo-Won has been all that mattered to me. I never...asked for very much. Just seeing him smile would have made me happy." Aww, Yona. This goes back to my thoughts on Yona + selfless/selfish love and Soo-Won being the light of her existence. I don't know if Yona could imagine a larger existence, and Soo-Won was her guiding light. Now she doesn't have that and he told her she never did. And kind of like Hak, she was fine relegating herself as an observer–just someone who got to see Soo-Won's happiness, with him placed above her and her own desires. But did she allow herself to have any desires beyond Soo-Won? Could she conceive of any?
But after this reaffirmation of Soo-Won = Yona's world, we get Hak in an epic entrance. Yay Hak! Thank you for recognizing something fishy was happening (finally!).
Tumblr media
"I'm so sorry to have left your side, princess."
Hak's entrance kind of reframes things– maybe she didn't realize it, but Yona's world has more to it than just Soo-Won (and her father). There's Hak too.
It also reframes Soo-Won vs. Yona to Soo-Won vs. Hak (and Soo-Won vs. Hak and Yona).
Tumblr media
Poor Yona is so shattered and shaken, she even doubts Hak: "Hak...are you on my side?" She feels completely abandoned and alone. But Hak will show her otherwise.
"His majesty told me to protect you. No matter what happens...you have my devotion and my obedience" – but interestingly, Hak frames his devotion to Yona as devotion to the King. As something born out of duty rather than personal feelings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At first, Hak can't even believe Soo-Won's actions. His view of Soo-Won is shattered just like Yona's was. "Did you want power so badly? No...it's not power that interests you" – Hak knows Soo-Won. Or at least he thinks he does. They have (or had) a deep bond. That's why Soo-Won killing King Il is so unfathomable.
Hak also displays his loyalty to King Il here. And his strength in battle.
"This country...has no need for a timid king" – what makes a good king? A question for the story to examine.
Where will Soo-Won go from here? He accomplished his goal of revenge, what next? What kind of king will he be?
Yona can only watch in despair as we get Soo-Won vs. Hak, two people she loves going up against each other. With her caught in the middle. And it is painful for her to see Hak injure Soo-Won. After everything, she doesn't want Soo-Won hurt. She is frozen and broken.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Was the man I knew...just a facade?" "The man you knew...never existed" – another idea to be explored/a question posed for the story overall.
"I thought I could entrust her highness to you" – the biggest betrayal for Hak.
"The man you knew never existed. If anyone gets in my way...I will destroy them. No matter who it is." – Soo-Won re-centers himself on his goals and insists that Hak and Yona don't matter to him, that he's willing to sacrifice them. Keep lying to yourself, Soo-Won.
"I don't want to hear this. I don't want to hear anymore." – Yona shuts down completely. She cannot take anymore. It's too much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a pain and brokenness in Soo-Won's expression, despite what he says. But this is the path he has chosen, and he is determined to stick to it. At least for the moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just aww (and oh) what a moment! Hak!!
"Where will we go? I...during the party...my father was crying from joy. But I never got to thank him for anything" – Yona feels guilty for how she treated her father and regret and shame for not cherishing him more.
And I think she feels unworthy of Hak and Min-Su's protection and more so their willingness to die for her.
"We'll go anywhere we have to...to keep you alive. That's how we can honor his majesty's memory" – what a wonderful line of comfort (+ hug!) from Hak. It's like he knew the exact right thing to say.
And embracing her, I think he shows how his devotion from a place of duty is all for show– he deeply cares for Yona.

hello! i hope you've been in good health <3
i'm uncertain about how valid this is, since it might just be me being biased as a heavily mercury dominant person, but i think people come with this already made perception of negativity about mercurial energy.
don't get me wrong— i won't say ashlesha is never manipulative or that jyestha can't be toxic or that revatis can't be trickesters.
but listening to people talk just makes me think that most of them have an automatic setting— mercury=bad, and to believe otherwise, they need proof, solid evidence.
and logic goes somewhat like this—when you have an already biased opinion, you look for ways to prove yourself instead of maintaining neutrality and looking at all aspects. and considering how illusory and unstable mercury natives are, they give less shits about how you perceive them and this somewhat just reinforces the previous belief.
i believe mercury demands time to understand and get used to. if i may, (ngl, i'm kinda nervous about how serious this will be taken considering how much some of y'all hate mercury natives?? like it's genuinely scaring me at this rate like chill out😭) i'd like to share my own perspective of people and how they view me!
[ i have an ardra rising; ashlesha moon, mercury and ketu; mercury in tight conjunction with pushya sun (3 degrees) and tight conjunction with ashlesha moon (3 degrees) ]
first of all, i do not relate with the fact that mercury dominants are out of the world clever or smth, because i'm not. simple as that; in fact i look at others and go like, damn, that was some clever ass shit they just did and try to learn from that.
of course, there's a limit to what extent i apply that😂i don't look at toxic people and go like, 'oh yeah, that's a very cool way of gaslighting somebody...' no, not like that.
more like, 'oh. so they took that from me by making me nervous and putting me in the spotlight. maybe i can do that to take my stuff back too, then.'
secondly, i don't relate with the man stealer thing and being competitive with other women either? like women solidarity? i don't get it tbh; i don't even understand where it comes from. i even have some ashlesha native friends and they're all just as chill about this; in fact i don't even see them around men lmao
i used to be in this friend circle of three girls (two venus doms and one ketu dom) and trust me, i've never hated another girl the way i ended up hating these three. they always made me feel like i was being tore apart and examined, and felt judged all the time. i did stuff for them, never got anything except laughter in return and always felt pathetic. i never even felt a proper part of that group either, because they were always trying to avoid me when it came to the fun part of things. like i was disposable.
anyways!
one thing i wanna highlight here though—i easily get uncomfortable around men. and even the nice ones, i mean. my friends are all girls, and i would never trust a man, it's almost obsessive at this point. 🤦‍♀️
yeah, one thing i definitely want to say is that i do gaslight when i'm caught doing something wrong, or something i was trying to hide ngl. i'm trying to work on it, but it's hard to avoid this tendency. it's like i'm running away from what is my own responsibility; i'm trying to stop this tendency, but it's been there as long as i can recall.
anyway, here's my pov, if anybody gives a shit.
but i really want to call everybody out here—just because you have bad experience with somebody of a certain placement, doesn't give you the rights to claim the entire nakshatra/planetary nature as being 'bad'; what if i define bad as something else? does that make saturn dominants as bad people? or maybe mars or venus dominant people as bad? no! because your experiences of good and bad are as valid as mine! putting forth your opinion is one thing; and out rightly claiming it as correct or incorrect based on a personal view, is, (surprise, surprise!) wrong.
anyways, thank if you end up reading this! have a lovely day/night, love! <3
even Moon dominants weren't this triggered after a 2 part post where i cited Nazis and fascists as examples lol
people are going to have their own opinions and perceive naks and planets as bad or good based on their experiences, I have repeated throughout the many asks i received that any nak can manifest in good and bad ways but ok
i highly suggest you don't read anything on this blog for a little bit because you're taking this too personally

Well about the perception of Volo vs Kamado thing, and why more people don’t hate Volo, I have my own reflections (pretty privilege is absolutely a factor tho let’s be real 😂)
Everyone growing up has at least one story of an adult being super unfair to you, even though you were doing everything right. Their own biases and experiences could be understood later once you were older and calmer reflecting back on the incident, like a teacher who snapped at you maybe had a super long day of wrangling hundreds of children. But we never forget how it feels in that moment to have those who should be guiding us be unfair and seemingly unreasonable. So naturally that’s gonna hurt when you get kamado being paranoid.
Volo on the other hand is just absolutely delightful I’m sorry maybe if Kamado put on a silly outfit and hair for his boss battle instead of plate mail he’d have more art. Like you said Volos betrayal is one and done really, he acts like a theater kid and then dips. You have to keep seeing kamado being in charge in the game after his blunders for a while which can rub people the wrong way. (Also this is maybe just me but I never trusted Volo just like I never trusted Cynthia as a kid, and finding out he was evil was a great moment of vindication I CANT be the only one who experienced this)
TLDR we see unfairness way more than we see someone betray us while making their hair like a god horse
well, you heard them, kamado. time to go get the jester outfit. cmon chop chop it's to redeem your image
yeah, the point abt getting burned by adults in authority is also very fair. most of us were not scarred for life by theater kid antics lol. the other thing abt it is that often those same adults never really face any consequences. you were always just expected to move on, suck it up etc. cause that's life as a kid right. sometimes ppl will use their power over you just to flex their limited authority, or to vent whatever's going on in their home life, and this doesn't really stop when you grow up it's just that when you're a kid basically every adult has that authority position. so it's just expected that there's nothing you can do. i mean unless you decide to be the karmic force of justice in your own life by being the most stubborn bitch of a child to walk the earth. not that i would know anything about that cough
uh anyway. the thing is the thing btwn you and kamado isn't about about child vs adult. you're more or less considered an adult yourself by jubilife, albeit a rather young and more importantly low ranking one. like we've said (a million times already lol) kamado's not doing it just to grasp at a sense of control, he's reacting to what he perceives as a very real threat to his village (and also because the writers clocked him in the face with the idiot ball for plot advancement reasons lbr).
and the thing is kamado DOES, kind of, face consequences and own up to his mistakes by the end of the game. also after the red sky event he's like, REALLY nice to you lol. not just briefly either! imo you can tell that he sincerely respects you and regrets his actions in the red sky. go look at his late game quotes-
"Perhaps you are a divine being yourself, sent to bring us gifts from above... "I know I've no right to say this... But we are truly fortunate to have been able to count you among the Survey Corps' ranks. If you had not joined us, we would have fallen on Mount Coronet. We would have lost our home. We would have lost our future." "I'm grateful to you for showing me what a heartening presence Pokémon can be. We must spar again sometime!" "<player>, forgive me for taking so much of your time [telling you about the Galaxy name.] Please accept this as a sort of apology."
like he's trying to make up for the way they were treated earlier and give them the proper treatment they're owed for all their help.
idk i don't have a good way to conclude this i guess. i just think he's a cool character
